И$ ја%ко моля'шеся е%здра. въпроша'ющи б~а и^ пла'чющи лежа'ше преD цр~ковїю бж~їею” И$ собра'но е^сть к немђ эT і^и^л~я собранїе ве'лїе ѕњ'ло, мђж'и и^ же'ны и^ ѓ'троки. и^ ја%ко пла'кахђся лю'дїе, и^ възнесе'ся пла'чъ”

So when Esdras had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and praying before the house of God, a very great assembly of Israel came together to him, men and women and youths; for the people wept, and wept aloud.

И$ эTвњща` сехенїя сн~ъ и^е^и'левъ эT сн~овъ и^л#ла'мъ. и^ рече е^здре” Мы престђпи'хомъ преD бг~омъ на'шимъ. и^ поја^хом# же'ны чюждїа эT людїи земли`. и^ нн~њ да е^сть долготерпе'нїе въ і^и^л~и”

And Sechenias the son of Jeel, of the sons of Elam, answered and said to Esdras, We have broken covenant with our God, and have taken strange wives of the nations of the land: yet now there is patience of hope to Israel concerning this thing.

Сего ра'ди и^ завњща'емъ завњтъ съ гм~ъ бг~омъ на'шимъ. да эTве'ржемъ вс^и же'ны, и^ тњ'хъ и^же эT тњ'хъ рожде'ны сђть. ја%ко хо'щеши, въста'ни и^ ё^стро'иши повеле'нїе г~а б~а на'шего. и^ по зако'нђ да бђ'детъ.

Now then let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and their offspring, as thou shalt advise:

въста'ни, поне'же на тебњ е^сть гл~ъ. мы же бђ'демъ с тобо'ю. ё^крњпи'ся и^ сътвори`”

arise, and alarm them with the commands of our God; and let it be done according to the law. Rise up, for the matter is upon thee; and we are with thee: be strong and do.

И$ въста'въ ё^бо е%здра и^ закля` кн~ѕисщ~ен#ническїя и^ левљ=ты, и^ всего і^и^л~я. да сътво'рятъ по сло'вђ томђ`, и^ кля'шася”

Then Esdras arose, and caused the rulers, the priests, and Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word: and they swore.

И$ воста` е%здра эT лица` до'мђ бж~їя, і^ и'де въ сокро'вищныи до'мъ. и^а^н#на'нъ сн~ъ е^лисђѓ'въ и^ а^зи'въ. и^ преста` т^ђ. хлњ'ба не ја%сть и^ воды` не пи'тъ, тђжа'ше б^о престђпле'нїя и^хъ, и^же прїидо'ша эT плњне'нїя”

And Esdras rose up from before the house of God, and went to the treasury of Joanan the son of Elisub; he even went thither: he ate no bread, and drank no water; for he mourned over the unfaithfulness of them of the captivity.

И$ послано е^сть сло'во въ і^ё^де'ю и^ въ і^ерsлимъ, всњ'мъ сн~овомъ преселе'нїя, да съберђтся въ і^ерsлимъ”

And they made proclamation throughout Juda and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should assemble at Jerusalem, saying,

И$ вся'къ и^же не прїидетъ въ тр^и дн~и по совњтђ кн~ѕїи и^ ста'рцевъ. во'змется вс^е и^мњ'нїе е^го. и^ то'и эTлђче'нъ бђ'детъ эT соньмища преселе'нїя”

Every one who shall not arrive within three days, as is the counsel of the rulers and the elders, all his substance shall be forfeited, and he shall be separated from the congregation of the captivity.

И$ събра'шася вс^и лю'дїе і^ё^дины и^ венїами'ни въ і^ерsлимъ. тре'ми дн~ьми. и^же е^сть мцsъ, џ~. к~ го дн~я мцsа. и^ сњдо'ша вс^и лю'дїе на преD домоM бж~їиM ѓ^ дрожа'нїя вся'къ и^же не прїидетъ въ тр^и дн~и по совњтђ кн~ѕїи и^ ста'рцевъ. во'змется вс^е и^мњ'нїе е^го. и^ то'и эTлђче'нъ бђ'детъ эT соньмища преселе'нїя” И$ събра'шася вс^и лю'дїе і^ё^дины и^ венїами'ни въ і^ерsлимъ. тре'ми дн~ьми. и^же е^сть мцsъ, џ~. к~ го дн~я мцsа. и^ сњдо'ша вс^и лю'дїе на преD домоM бж~їиM ѓ^ дрожа'нїя за грњ'хъ и^ съ зимо'ю”

So all the men of Juda and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within the three days. This was the ninth month: on the twentieth day of the month all the people sat down in the street of the house of the Lord, because of their alarm concerning the word, and because of the storm.

И$ въста` е%здра сщ~енникъ и^ рече к ниM, вы престђпи'сте и^ взя'сте же'ны и^ноплеме'н#нически. да не приложи'те на грњхъ і^и~л~ю”

And Esdras the priest arose, and said to them, Ye have broken covenant, and have taken strange wives, to add to the trespass of Israel.

И$ нн~њ дади'те хвалђ г~ђ б~ђ эTц~ъ вашиX. и^ сътворите ё^гоDное преD ни'мъ. и^ эTлђчи'теся эT людїи земли`. и^ эT же'нъ и^ноплеме'н#ническъ”

Now therefore give praise to the Lord God of our fathers, and do that which is pleasing in his sight: and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the strange wives.

И$ эTвњща'ша вс^е мно'жество рекђщи гла'сомъ вели'кимъ. по сло'вђ твое^мђ к на'мъ та'ко бђ'ди”

Then all the congregation answered and said, This thy word is powerful upon us to do it.

ѓ^ба'че лю'дїе мно'ѕи сђть, и^ вре'мя снњж'но. и^ нњ'сть мо'щно стоя'ти внњ`. и^ дњ'ло нњ'сть дн~и е^ді'наго и^ли двђ`. ѕњ'ло б^о съгрњши'хомъ въ словеси` се'мъ.

But the people is numerous, and the season is stormy, and there is no power to stand without, and the work is more than enough for one day or for two; for we have greatly sinned in this matter.

да ста'нђтъ кн~ѕи на'ши въ все'мъ мно'жествњ, и^ вс^и и^же въ гра'дехъ на'шихъ и^же въведо'ша же'ны и^ноплеме'нничи, да прїидетъ вре'мя повеле'н#ное. и^ с ни'ми ста'рцы эT граD, и^ сђдїи эT граD. е%же ѓ^братити ја%рость б~а на'шего эT насъ грњха` ра'ди сего”

Let now our rulers stand, and for all those in our cities who have taken strange wives, let them come at appointed times, and with them elders from every several city, and judges, to turn away the fierce wrath of our God from us concerning this matter.

Сего ра'ди і^ и^ѓа^наџа'нъ сн~ъ а^са'їи^нъ. и^ а^саїя сн~ъ џекђе'въ съ мно'ю ста'ша и^ мосол#ла'мъ и^ севеха'и левљ=ти помога'ша и^мъ.

Only Jonathan the son of Asael, and Jazias the son of Thecoe were with me concerning this; and Mesollam, and Sabbathai the Levite helped them.

сътвори'ша та'ко сн~ове преселе'нїя” И$ эTлђчи` е%здра сщ~енъникъ и^ мђж'и, кн~ѕи ѓ^би'телни въ домы` эTц~ъ свои^х#, и^ вс^и по и^менехъ свои^хъ. ја%ко ѓбрати'шася въ дн~ь пе'рвыи, мцsа, і~ го. да взы'щђтъ гл~а”

And the children of the captivity did thus: and Esdras the priest, and heads of families according to their house were separated, and all by their names, for they returned in the first day of the tenth month to search out the matter.

И$ сконча'ша вс^и мђж'и, и^же въведо'ша же'ны и^ноплемеnничи да'же до дн~е, а~ го, мцsа, а~ го.

¹⁷

And they made an end with all the men who had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.

¹⁸

и^ ѓ^брњте'ни сђть эT сн~овъ сщ~ен#ническиX и^же въведо'ша же'ны и^ноплеме'нничи, эT сн~овъ і^и^ѓ^сђе', сн~а и^ѓ^седе'кова и^ бра'тїя е^го маа^сїя, и^ е^лїезе'ръ и^ ја^риM, и^ гада'лїя.

And there were found some of the sons of the priests who had taken strange wives: of the sons of Jesus the son of Josedec, and his brethren; Maasia, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gadalia.

и^ да'ша рђ'цњ себњ, да и^зго'нятъ же'ны своя. престђпле'нїя ра'ди свое^го. ѓ%вны эT ѓ^ве'цъ да принесђтъ”

And they pledged themselves to put away their wives, and offered a ram of the flock for a trespass-offering because of their trespass.

И$ эT сн~овъ е^м#миа'ръ. а^н#нагнїи и^ завдїя.

And of the sons of Emmer; Anani, and Zabdia.

и^ эT сн~овъ и^раM. маа^сїя и^ е^л#лїя, и^ самїа і^ и^ѓ^и'ль и^ ѓ^зїя.

And of the sons of Eram; Masael, and Elia, and Samaia, and Jeel, and Ozia.

и^ эT сн~овъ фассђ'ръ, е^лїѓ^е'на, и^ маа^сїя, и^зма'иль, наџанае'ль, и^ѓ^нада'дъ і^ и^ла'са.

And of the sons of Phasur; Elionai, Maasia, and Ismael, and Nathanael, and Jozabad, and Elasa.

и^ эT сн~овъ левљ=товъ, и^ѓ^наваD и^ џамђ'и, и^ коле'а. то'и е^сть коли'тъ и^ феџїя, і^ и^ё^да і^ е^лїе^зе'ръ”

And of the Levites; Jozabad, and Samu, and Colia (he is Colitas,) and Phetheia, and Judas, and Eliezer.

И$ эT пњвцо'въ, е^лїа^зђв#, и^ эT две'рникъ, солминъ и^ телми'нъ и^ ѓ^дђя.

²⁴

And of the singers; Elisab: and of the porters; Solmen, and Telmen, and Oduth.

и^ эT і^и^л~я эT сн~овъ форе'съ раме'їя и^ а^зїя и^ мелхїя. и^ мельми'нь и^ е^лїа^зе'ръ, и^ а^са'вїя, и^ ване'я.

Also of Israel: of the sons of Phoros; Ramia, and Azia, and Melchia, and Meamin, and Eleazar, and Asabia, and Banaia.

эT сн~овъ и^ла'мовыхъ маџ#џа'нїя, эT сн~овъ и^ла'мовыхъ маџ#џа'нїя, заха'рїя, і^ и^и'ль, и^ а^вдїи, и^ е^римоџъ, і^ и^лїа”

And of the sons of Helam; Matthania, and Zacharia, and Jaïel, and Abdia, and Jarimoth, and Elia.

И$ эT сн~ов# заџђа, е^лїѓ^мина'и е^лїа^сђв# маџа'нїа, и^ а^рмђџ, и^ заваD и^ ѓ^зи'ва”

And of the sons of Zathua; Elionai, Elisub, Matthanai, and Armoth, and Zabad, and Oziza.

И$ эT сн~овъ вавїа, и^ѓ^ннаn, а^нанїя, и^ зав#вђи и^ џалли`”

²⁸

And of the sons of Babei; Joanan, Anania, and Zabu, and Thali.

²⁹

И$ эT сн~оv вани мосолам#, и^л#лђхъ, и^ а^д#да'їя, и^ а^сђвъ, и^ а^саа'лъ, и^ римоg”

And of the sons of Banui; Mosollam, Maluch, Adaias, Jasub, and Saluia, and Remoth.

И$ эT сн~оv фаа'џовыхъ, моа'въ, е^дъне'я, и^ хал#лилъ, и^ вана'їя, и^ маа'сїя, маsџа'нїя, и^ веселеи'лъ, ванђ'и, и^ манасе'и”

And of the sons of Phaath Moab; Edne, and Chalel, and Banaia, Maasia, Matthania, Beseleel, and Banui, and Manasse.

И$ эT сн~овъ и^ра'мовыхъ, е^лїезеръ, и^е^сђїя, мельхїя, саме'и^я симеѓ'нъ,

And of the sons of Eram; Eliezer, Jesia, Melchia, Samaias, Semeon,

венїаминъ, малђхъ, сама'рїя,”

Benjamin, Baluch, Samaria.

И$ эT сн~овъ а^си'мъ, меgџанаїя, меџа'џа, а^завадъ, е^лифа'лџъ, и^е^римїа и^ манасе` семе'и”

And of the sons of Asem; Metthania, Matthatha, Zadab, Eliphalet, Jerami, Manasse, Semei.

И$ эT сн~овъ ва'ни, дїя, а^мра'мъ, и^ ё^и'ль,

And of the sons of Bani; Moodia, Amram, Uel,

Banaia, Badaia, Chelkia,

Uvania, Marimoth, Eliasiph,

И$ сътвори'ша сн~ове ванђие^вы, и^ сн~ове семе'и,

and so did the children of Banui, and the children of Semei,

и^ са'лемїа, и^ наџа'нъ, и^ а^да'їя,

and Selemia, and Nathan, and Adaia,

Machadnabu, Sesei, Sariu,

а^рђ е^среи'ли, и^ сама'рїя.

Ezriel, and Selemia, and Samaria,

and Sellum, Amaria, Joseph.

Of the sons of Nabu; Jael, Matthanias, Zabad, Zebennas, Jadai, and Joel, and Banaia.

вс^и тїи` прїя'ша жены` и^ноплеме'нически. и^ роди'ша эT ни'хъ сыны`”

All these had taken strange wives, and had begotten sons of them.
