И$ рече г~ь къ мољ=сїю гл~я,

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

мсти` ме'сть эT сн~овъ і^и~леv, эT мадїани'товъ. и^ потом# приложи'ся к лю'демъ своиM”

Avenge the wrongs of the children of Israel on the Madianites, and afterwards thou shalt be added to thy people.

И$ рече мољ=сїи къ лю'деM гл~я. въѓ^рђжитеся на бра'нь, и^ въполчи'теся преD гм~ъ на мадїа'ма, этда'ти эTм#ще'нїе эT г~а мадїа'мђ”

And Moses spoke to the people, saying, Arm some of you, and set yourselves in array before the Lord against Madian, to inflict vengeance on Madian from the Lord.

Ты'сђщђ эT племе'ни. и^ ты'сђща эT племе'ни, эT всњхъ племе'нъ, сн~овъ і^и^л~евъ. послите въполчи'тися

Send a thousand of each tribe from all the tribes of the children of Israel to set themselves in array.

⁵

и^ сочто'ша эT ты'сђщъ і^и^л~евых. тысђщђ эT племе'ни, и^ бысть в~і ты'сђщъ, въѓ^рђженыхъ на бра'нь”

And they numbered of the thousands of Israel a thousand of each tribe, twelve thousands; these were armed for war.

⁶

И$ посла` я& мољ=сїи ты'сђщђ эT племе'ни, и^ ты'сђща эT племени, съ си'лою и^хъ. и^ фїнее^съ сн~ъ е^лїаза'ровъ, сн~а а^а^ро'ня жрецъ и^ сосђ'ды ст~ыа, и^ трђ'бы зна'меnныа, в рђкђ е^го”

And Moses sent them away a thousand of every tribe with their forces, and Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest: and the holy instruments, and the signal trumpets were in their hands.

И$ въполчи'шася на мадїа^ма. ја%коже повелњ г~ь мољ=сїю, і^ и^зби'ша весь мђжескъ поl”

And they set themselves in array against Madian, as the Lord commanded Moses; and they slew every male.

⁸

И$ цр~я мадїа'мля и^ ё^би'ша въкђпњ съ ја%звеными иX. и^ не'вина, и^ рокома и^ сљ=ръ. и^ ё^ра, и^ ревока, и^ всњхъ цр~еи мадїа'млиX. и^ валаа'ма сн~а воѓ%рова ё^биша ѓ^рђжїем# съ ја%звеными иX”

And they slew the kings of Madian together with their slain subjects; even Evi and Rocon, and Sur, and Ur, and Roboc, five kings of Madian; and they slew with the sword Balaam the son of Beor with their other slain.

И$ плениша жены мадїа'мля, і^ и^мњнїа иX и^ скоты и^хъ и^ вс^я притежа'нїа и^хъ и^ си'лђ и^хъ плениша”

And they made a prey of the women of Madian, and their store, and their cattle, and all their possessions: and they spoiled their forces.

И$ вс^я грады и^хъ. и^же въ ѓ^бита'нїи и^хъ, и^ дворы и^хъ, пож#гоша ѓ^гнеM”

¹⁰

And they burnt with fire all their cities in the places of their habitation, and they burnt their villages with fire.

¹¹

И$ поа'ша ве'сь плњнъ и^хъ и^ вс^я притяжа'нїа и^хъ, эT чл~ка до ско'та”

¹¹

And they took all their plunder, and all their spoils, both man and beast.

¹²

И$ приведо'ша до мољ=сїа и^ е^лїаза'ра жерца`, и^ къ всњмъ сн~омъ і^и^л~евыM, плњнъ и^ кори'сти і^ и^мњнїе и^хъ въ по'лчище. въ а^раа^воg моа'вль и^же е^сть ё^ і^ѓ'рдана при е^рихо'нњ”

And they brought to Moses and to Eleazar the priest, and to all the children of Israel, the captives, and the spoils, and the plunder, to the camp to Araboth Moab, which is at Jordan by Jericho.

І$ и^зы'де мољ=сїи і^ е^лїа^за'ръ жрецъ, и^ вс^и кн~ѕи со'нма проти'вђ и^мъ, внњ по'лчища”

And Moses and Eleazar the priest and all the rulers of the synagogue went forth out of the camp to meet them.

И$ раZгнњвася мољ=сїи на строи'теля си'лы ты'сђщники и^ сотники, преd по'лка ходяща'я”

¹⁴

And Moses was angry with the captains of the host, the heads of thousands and the heads of hundreds who came from the battle-array.

¹⁵

И$ рече иM мољ=сїи въскђ'ю живи'сте же'нескъ полъ

¹⁵

And Moses said to them, Why have ye saved every female alive?

¹⁶

весь” Тїи б^о бы'ша сн~омъ і^и^л~евымъ, по словеси` валаа'млю. эTстђпле'нїе и^ презрњнїе словђ гн~ю. вельфего'ра ради. и^ быs вреD въ со'нмњ гн~и”

¹⁶

For they were the occasion to the children of Israel by the word of Balaam of their revolting and despising the word of the Lord, because of Phogor; and there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord.

¹⁷

Нн~њ же и^збі'ите вся'къ мђжескъ по'лъ въ всемъ съвеrшенїи. и^ вся'кђ женђ` и^же позна` ло'же мђжеско побїи'те”

¹⁷

Now then slay every male in all the spoil, slay every woman, who has known the lying with man.

¹⁸

Вся'ко раZлђче'нїе же'н#ско. а^ ја%же не зна'ет# мђжеска полђ живи'те ю&”

¹⁸

And as for all the captivity of women, who have not known the lying with man, save ye them alive.

¹⁹

Вы' же ста'ните вн^њ по'лчища з~ дн~їи, вся'къ ё^би'выи дш~ђ и^ прися'гїи ё^бїе'номђ, да ѓ^чистиTся, въ г~ дн~ь, и^ въ дн~ь сеDмыи в^ы и^ плњнъ вашъ”

And ye shall encamp outside the great camp seven days; every one who has slain and who touches a dead body, shall be purified on the third day, and ye and your captivity shall purify yourselves on the seventh day.

И$ вс^я ѓ^дежда, и^ всякъ сосђдъ ко'жанеn, и^ вс^е съдњланое эT козли'чины, и^ всяk сосDђ дре'вянъ да ѓ^чи'стите”

²⁰

And ye shall purify every garment and every leathern utensil, and all furniture of goat skin, and every wooden vessel.

²¹

И$ рече е^лїа^за'ръ жрецъ, къ мђжеM си'лы, приходя'щимъ съ сњча ра'тныя. с^е ѓ^правле'нїе зако'на е^же заповњ'да г~ь мољ=сїю”

And Eleazar the priest said to the men of the host that came from the battle-array, This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord has commanded Moses.

²²

Развњ сребра` и^ зла'та, и^ мњди и^ желњза, и^ коситера, и^ ѓ'лова.

²²

Beside the gold, and the silver, and the brass, and the iron, and lead, and tin,

²³

вся'ка вещь и^же прои'деT сквоѕњ ѓ%гнь ѓ^гнемъ и^скђ'сится, н^о воDныM ѓ^чищенїеM ѓ^цы'стится” И$ вс^е е^же не прои'детъ сквоѕњ ѓ%гнь, да прои'деT сквоѕњ водђ”

every thing that shall pass through the fire shall so be clean, nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of sanctification; and whatsoever will not pass through the fire shall pass through water.

²⁴

І$ и^спере'те ризы вашA въ дн~ь сеDмыи и^ да ѓ^цы'стится, и^ потоM да вни'детъ въ по'лчище”

²⁴

And on the seventh day ye shall wash your garments, and be clean; and afterwards ye shall come into the camp.

²⁵

И$ рече г~ь къ мољ=сїю гл~я,

²⁵

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

²⁶

возмњте нача'токъ эT коры'сти плњ'ннаго эT чл~ка до скота`. т^ы і^ е^лїа^за'ръ жреw, и^ кн~ѕи племе'нъ со'нма”

²⁶

Take the sum of the spoils of the captivity both of man and beast, thou and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the families of the congregation.

²⁷

И$ да раздњли'те коры'сти междђ во'ины ходи'вшими на сњчь, и^ междђ всњмъ со'нмомъ”

²⁷

And ye shall divide the spoils between the warriors that went out to battle, and the whole congregation.

²⁸

И$ да эTлђчи'те да'нь г~ђ, эT людїи воиn ходи'вшихъ на сњчь. е^ді'нђ дш~ђ, эT пять со'тъ чл~къ а^ эT скота`, и^ воловъ, эT ѓ^ве'цъ и^ эT ѓ^слятъ”

And ye shall take a tribute for the Lord from the warriors that went out to battle; one soul out of five hundred, from the men, and from the cattle, even from the oxen, and from the sheep, and from the asses; and ye shall take from their half.

²⁹

И$ эT полови'ны же и^хъ да во'змете и^ да дадите е^лїаза'рђ жеръцђ`. да'нь г~ђ”

²⁹

And thou shalt give them to Eleazar the priest as the first-fruits of the Lord.

³⁰

И$ эT полови'ны сн~овъ і^и^л~еv, да воZмеши е^ді'но эT, н~, чл~къ, и^ эT волоv, и^ ѓ^веw, и^ эT ѓ^сля'тъ, и^ всего скота`, даде я& левљ=томъ, и^же стрегђтъ страQбы` въ хра'мњ гн~и”

And from the half belonging to the children of Israel thou shalt take one in fifty from the men, and from the oxen, and from the sheep, and from the asses, and from all the cattle; and thou shalt give them to the Levites that keep the charges in the tabernacle of the Lord.

И$ сътвори` мољ=сїи, і^ е^лїа'заръ жрецъ, ја%коже повелњ г~ь мољ=сїю”

³¹

And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Lord commanded Moses.

³²

И$ бысть мно'жество полонђ`, и^же полони'ша мђжи вои'ньстїи эT ѓ^веw, х~ ѓ~е ты'сящь”

³²

And that which remained of the spoil which the warriors took, was—of the sheep, six hundred and seventy-five thousand:

Воло'в же, о~в ты'сящи.

³³

and oxen, seventy-two thousand:

³⁴

ѓ^слоv же ћ~а ты'сяща”

³⁴

and asses, sixty-one thousand.

³⁵

дш~ъ же чл~къ эT же'ньска по'лђ яy не бя'ше прилњпна мђжњхъ, всXњ дш~ъ, л~в ты'сящи”

³⁵

And persons of women who had not known lying with man, all the souls, thirty-two thousand.

³⁶

И$ бысть половин#ная часть ходи'вшихъ на сњ'чь. эT числа` ѓ%вна, тл~з ты'сящь, и^ пять соT”

³⁶

And the half, even the portion of them that went out to war, from the number of the sheep, was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred.

³⁷

И$ бы'сть да'нь г~ђ эT ѓ^ве'цъ, х~о~ и^ е~.

³⁷

And the tribute to the Lord from the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five.

³⁸

и^ воловъ, Wл~ и^ Wѕ~, да'нь же г~ђ, о~ и^ в~.

³⁸

And the oxen, six and thirty thousand, and the tribute to the Lord, seventy-two.

³⁹

и^ ѓ^словъ, Wл~ пять соT, да'нь же г~ђ ћ~а.

³⁹

And asses, thirty thousand and five hundred, and the tribute to the Lord, sixty-one:

дш~ь же чл~чь Wѕ~і, да'нь же эT сиX г~ђ л~в дш~и”

⁴⁰

and the persons, sixteen thousand, and the tribute of them to the Lord, thirty-two souls.

⁴¹

И$ даде мољ=сїи да'нь г~ђ ё^частїе б~ђ, е^лїа'зарђ жерцђ, ја%коy повелњ г~ђ мољ=сїю”

⁴¹

And Moses gave the tribute to the Lord, the heave-offering of God, to Eleazar the priest, as the Lord commanded Moses;

эT половин# же сн~ов# і^и^л~евъ, е^же раздњли мољ=сїи. эT мђжеи вои'скиX”

⁴²

from the half belonging to the children of Israel, whom Moses separated from the men of war.

⁴³

И$ бысть половина эT со'нма, ѓ^вецъ, Wт~ и^ Wл~Wз~ и^ пять соT.

⁴³

And the half taken from the sheep, belonging to the congregation, was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand and five hundred.

⁴⁴

и^ волов# же Wл~Wѕ~.

⁴⁴

And the oxen, thirty-six thousand;

⁴⁵

и^ ѓ^селъ Wл~ и^ пять соT.

⁴⁵

asses, thirty thousand and five hundred;

⁴⁶

и^ чл~чихъ дш~ъ Wѕ~і”

⁴⁶

and persons, sixteen thousand.

⁴⁷

И$ поя` мољ=сїи эT половинъ сн~овъ і^и^л~евъ е^ді'нъ эT н~ эT чл~ка и^ скота. и^ дасть я& левљ=тоM, стрегђщиM стражбы` въ хра'мњ гн~и, ја%коже повелњ г~ь мољ=сїю”

And Moses took of the half belonging to the children of Israel the fiftieth part, of men and of cattle, and he gave them to the Levites who keep the charges of the tabernacle of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.

⁴⁸

И$ прїидо'ша къ мољ=сїю вс^и поставле'нїи наD ты'сђщами си'лы. и^ сотницы си'лы”

⁴⁸

And all those who were appointed to be officers of thousands of the host, captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, approached Moses, and said to Moses,

⁴⁹

И$ реко'ша къ мољ=сїю ѓ^троцы твои` взяша сочте'нїе эT мђжь вои'нскиX и^же сђть ё^ наs, и^ никтоже поги'бе эT ниX” Се'

⁴⁹

Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war with us, and not one is missing.

⁵⁰

же принесо'хоM даръ г~ђ. е^же кт^о ѓ^брњлъ е^сть сосDђ зла'тъ, ѓ^брђчи и^ гривны, пр'ьстьни и^ ё^серя'зи и^ чњпи зла'ты, ѓ^цы'стити ѓ^ наs преD гм~ь”

And we have brought our gift to the Lord, every man who has found an article of gold, whether an armlet, or a chain, or a ring, or a bracelet, or a clasp for hair, to make atonement for us before the Lord.

И$ взя` мољ=сїи і^ е^лїа'заръ, зла'то эT ни'хъ весь сосђдъ съдњла'нъ”

⁵¹

And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from them, even every wrought article.

⁵²

И$ быs всего` злата, ё^ча'стїе е^же эTлђчи'ся г~ђ, ѕ~і ты'сящь и^ х~ и^ н~, си'кль, эT тысящникъ и^ эT со'тникъ.

⁵²

And all the wrought gold, even the offering that they offered to the Lord, was sixteen thousand and seven hundred and fifty shekels from the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds.

мђжиy во'истїи плњни'ша ко'ждо себњ”

⁵³

For the men of war took plunder every one for himself.

⁵⁴

И$ вз^я мољ=сїи і^ е^лїа'заръ жрецъ зла'то, эT ты'сящникъ, и^ со'тникъ. и^ внесо'ша и& въ хра'мъ свњдњ'нїа, па'мять сн~овъ і^и^л~евъ преD гм~ь”

And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from the captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, and brought the vessels into the tabernacle of witness, a memorial of the children of Israel before the Lord.
