Remember us, O Lord, with the favour thou hast to thy people: visit us with thy salvation;

We have sinned with our fathers, we have transgressed, we have done unrighteously.

Our fathers in Egypt understood not thy wonders, and remembered not the multitude of thy mercy; but provoked him as they went up by the Red Sea.

Yet he saved them for his name's sake, that he might cause his mighty power to be known.

And he rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up: so he led them through the deep as through the wilderness.

и3 запрети2 чермн0му м0рю, и3 и3зсsче: и3 настaви [преведE] | въ бeзднэ ћкw въ пустhни.

And he saved them out of the hand of them that hated them, and redeemed them out of the hand of the enemy.

The water covered those that oppressed them: there was not one of them left.

Then they believed his words, and celebrated his praise.

They made haste, they forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel.

And they lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the dry land.

And he gave them their request, and sent fulness into their souls.

They provoked Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.

The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and closed upon the congregation of Abiron.

Tвeрзесz землS и3 пожрE даfaна и3 покры2 на с0нмищи ґвірHна:

And a fire was kindled in their congregation, and a flame burnt up the sinners.

And they made a calf in Choreb, and worshipped the graven image,

И# сотвори1ша телцA въ хwри1вэ и3 поклони1шасz и3стукaнному:

and they changed their glory into the similitude of a calf that feeds on grass.

They forgot God that saved them, who had wrought great deeds in Egypt;

И# забhша бGа сп7сaющаго и5хъ, сотв0ршаго вє1ліz во є3гЂптэ,

wondrous works in the land of Cham, and terrible things at the Red Sea.

чудесA въ земли2 хaмовэ, стр†шнаz въ м0ри чермнёмъ.

So he said that he would have destroyed them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn him away from the fierceness of his anger, so that he should not destroy them.

И# речE потреби1ти и5хъ, ѓще не бы2 мwmсeй и3збрaнный є3гw2 стaлъ въ сокрушeніи пред8 ни1мъ, возврати1ти ћрость є3гw2, да не погуби1тъ и5хъ.

Moreover they set at nought the desirable land, and believed not his word.

И# ўничижи1ша зeмлю желaнную, не ћша вёры словеси2 є3гw2:

And they murmured in their tents: they hearkened not to the voice of the Lord.

и3 пороптaша въ селeніихъ свои1хъ, не ўслhшаша глaса гDнz.

So he lifted up his hand against them, to cast them down in the wilderness;

И# воздви1же рyку свою2 на нS, низложи1ти | въ пустhни,

and to cast down their seed among the nations, and to scatter them in the countries.

и3 низложи1ти сёмz и4хъ во kзhцэхъ, и3 расточи1ти | въ страны6.

They were joined also to Beelphegor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead. And they provoked him with their devices;

И# причасти1шасz веельфегHру и3 снэд0ша жє1ртвы мeртвыхъ:

and destruction was multiplied among them.

и3 раздражи1ша є3го2 въ начинaніихъ свои1хъ, и3 ўмн0жисz въ ни1хъ падeніе.

Then Phinees stood up, and made atonement: and the plague ceased.

И# стA фінеeсъ и3 ўми1лостиви, и3 престA сёчь:

And it was counted to him for righteousness, to all generations for ever.

и3 вмэни1сz є3мY въ прaвду, въ р0дъ и3 р0дъ до вёка.

They provoked him also at the water of Strife, and Moses was hurt for their sakes;

И# прогнёваша є3го2 на водЁ прерэкaніz, и3 њѕл0бленъ бhсть мwmсeй и4хъ рaди:

for they provoked his spirit, and he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.

ћкw преwгорчи1ша дyхъ є3гw2 и3 рaзнствова ўстнaма свои1ма.

They destroyed not the nations which the Lord told them to destroy;

Не потреби1ша kзhки, ±же речE гDь и5мъ.

but were mingled with the heathen, and learned their works.

И# смэси1шасz во kзhцэхъ и3 навык0ша дэлHмъ и4хъ:

And they served their graven images; and it became an offence to them.

и3 пораб0таша и3стук†ннымъ и4хъ, и3 бhсть и5мъ въ соблaзнъ.

And they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils,

И# пожр0ша сhны сво‰ и3 дщє1ри сво‰ бэсовHмъ,

and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Chanaan; and the land was defiled with blood,
38
и3 проліsша кр0вь непови1нную, кр0вь сынHвъ свои1хъ и3 дщeрей, ±же пожр0ша и3стук†ннымъ хана†нскимъ: и3 ўбіeна бhсть землS и4хъ кровьми2

and was polluted with their works; and they went a whoring with their own devices.

и3 њскверни1сz въ дёлэхъ и4хъ: и3 соблуди1ша въ начинaніихъ свои1хъ.

So the Lord was very angry with his people, and he abhorred his inheritance.

И# разгнёвасz ћростію гDь на лю1ди сво‰ и3 њмерзи2 достоsніе своE:

And he delivered them into the hands of their enemies; and they that hated them ruled over them.

и3 предадE | въ рyки врагHвъ, и3 њбладaша и4ми ненави1дzщіи и5хъ.

And their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought down under their hands.

И# стужи1ша и5мъ врази2 и4хъ: и3 смири1шасz под8 рукaми и4хъ.

Many a time he delivered them; but they provoked him by their counsel, and they were brought low by their iniquities.

Мн0жицею и3збaви |: тjи же преwгорчи1ша є3го2 совётомъ свои1мъ, и3 смири1шасz въ беззак0ніихъ свои1хъ.

Yet the Lord looked upon their affliction, when he heard their petition.

И# ви1дэ гDь, внегдA скорбёти и5мъ, внегдA ўслhшаше молeніе и4хъ:

And he remembered his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercy.

и3 помzнY завётъ св0й, и3 раскazсz по мн0жеству млcти своеS:

And he caused them to be pitied in the sight of all who carried them captive.

и3 дадE | въ щедрHты пред8 всёми плэни1вшими |.

Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, that we may glory in thy praise.
