And the ark was seven months in the country of the Philistines, and their land brought forth swarms of mice.

И$ б^њ киѓ%тъ гн~ь въ селњхъ и^ноплеме'нникъ, з~ мsць, и^ въсмердњ'ся земля` мђ'хами”

And the Philistines call their priests, and their prophets, and their enchanters, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? teach us wherewith we shall send it away to its place.

И$ призва'ша и^ноплеме'нницы, жерца и^ волъхвы и^ ѓ^бааники и^хъ гл~юще, чт^о сътвори'мъ кїѓ%тђ гн~ю, скажи'те наM. и^ како по'слемъ и& въ мњ'сто е^го”

And they said, If ye send away the ark of the covenant of the Lord God of Israel, do not on any account send it away empty, but by all means render to it an offering for the plague; and then shall ye be healed, and an atonement shall be made for you: should not his hand be thus stayed from off you?

Э$ни' же рњша иM, а%ще эTпђща'ете в^ы кїѓ%тъ завњта б~а і^и^л~ева, т^о да не по'слете е^гот#ща`, н^о эTда'юще эTдади'те е^мђ за мђ'ки да'ры, и^ тогда` ѓ^ста'вится ва'мъ і^ и^сцњ'литеся, да не эTстђ'питъ рђка` е^го эT ваs”

And they say, What is the offering for the plague which we shall return to it? and they said,

И$ гл~аша чт^о е^мђ за мђ'ки эTдамы`, и^ рњша и^мъ. по чисме'ню вое^воD и^ноплеме'нническъ, е~, сњде'нїи зла'тыX, и^ пя'ть мђ'хъ зла'тыхъ, ја^ко прегрњшенїя въ ваs, и^ въ кня'ѕњхъ ва'шихъ и^ в людехъ ва'шихъ”

According to the number of the lords of the Philistines, five golden emerods, for the plague was on you, and on your rulers, and on the people; and golden mice, the likeness of the mice that destroy your land: and ye shall give glory to the Lord, that he may lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.

И$ та'ко сътвори'те подобїе сњда'нїи ва'шиX, и^ подобїе мђхъ ва'шихъ, расто'чшиM зе'млю и^ въздади'те сла'вђ б~ђ і^и^л~евђ, ја%ко да ѓ^блегчи'тъ рђ'кђ свою эT ва'съ, и^ эT бого'въ ва'шихъ и^ эT земля` ва'шея”

And why do ye harden your hearts, as Egypt and Pharao hardened their hearts? was it not so when he mocked them, that they let the people go, and they departed?

И$ почто^ ѓ^тягча'ете срDце ва'ше, ја^коже ѓ^тягчи` е^гљ=петъ и^ фараѓ'нъ срDце сво'е, до'ндеже погђби` и^хъ тогда` эTпђсти` и^хъ, и^ эTи^доша”

And now take wood and make a new waggon, and take two cows, that have calved for the first time, without their calves; and do ye yoke the cows to the waggon, and lead away the calves from behind them home.

И$ нн~њ возмњте и^ сътвори'те колесницђ но'вђ е^ді'нђ и^ дв^њ кра'ве пр'ьвороDнњ, и^мњю'ща теля'та на ни'хже не бя'ше ја%рмо. и^ въпрязите кра'вы в колесницђ, а^ теля'та възврати'те въспя'тъ въ до'мъ”

And ye shall take the ark and put it on the waggon; and ye shall restore to it the golden articles for the trespass-offering in a coffer by the side of it: and ye shall let it go, and send it away, and ye shall depart.

И$ възе'мше кїѓ%тъ гн~ь и^ въстави'те иO на колесни'цђ, и^ сосђды зла'тыа эTдади'те е^мђ за мђ'ки, и^ положите въ ѓ^бложе'нїе въ стра'нњ ё^ча'стїе е^мђ и^ эTпђ'сти'те и& да и%детъ”

And ye shall see, if it shall go the way of its coasts along by Bæthsamys, he has brought upon us this great affliction; and if not, then shall we know that his hand has not touched us, but this is a chance which has happened to us.

Посе'м же ё%зрите а%ще бђ'детъ на пђти` предњла свое^го, въ веџъсамђсъ то^ сїи сътвори` на'мъ ѕло'бђ вели'кђю сїю, и^ а'ще н^и, т^о ё^разђмњ'емъ ја%ко нњсть рђка` е^го прикаса'ющися на'съ, н^о приключе'нїе с^е бы'сть на'мъ”

And the Philistines did so; and they took two cows that had calved for the first time, and yoked them to the waggon, and shut up their calves at home.

И$ сътвори'ша и^ноплеме'нницы та'ко. и^ пое'мша дв^њ кра'ве прьворо'днњ. и^ въпряго'ша я& в колесни'цђ. и^ теля'та ею` затвори'ша въ хра'мњ”

And they set the ark of the Lord, and the coffer, and the golden mice, on the waggon.

И$ възложи'ша кїѓ'тъ на колесни'цђ, и^ да'ры ѓ^бложи'ста мђ'хи зла'тыя и^ подо'бная сњда'нїю и^хъ”

And the cows went straight on the way to the way of Bæthsamys, they went along one track; and laboured, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left, and the lords of the Philistines went after it as far as the coasts of Bæthsamys.

И$ ё^пра'вистася кра'вы на пђть, пря'мо пђте'мъ и^же въ веџса'мђ и^до'ста. и^ не съвраща'ющися, н^и на' десно, н^и на шђ'е. и^дђще и^ рекђще, и^ вое^во'ды и^ноплеме'нникъ. и^дя'хђ въ слњдъ е^го до предњлъ веџса'мъскихъ”

And the men of Bæthsamys were reaping the wheat harvest in the valley; and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark of the Lord, and rejoiced to meet it.

И$ въ веџсами'се жня'хђ жа'твы пшени'ца въ ё^до'лїи`, и^ възведо'ста ѓ%чи свои` ви'дњша киѓ'тъ гн~ь, и^ възвесели'шася ви'дяще. і^ и^зыидо'ша на срњте'нїе е^мђ`”

And the waggon entered into the field of Osee, which was in Bæthsamys, and they set there by it a great stone; and they split the wood of the waggon, and offered up the cows for a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord.

И$ колесни'ца вни'де въ село` е^џса'м#ско, и^ ста` т^ђ. и^ быs т^ђ камы'къ ве'лїи, і^ и^с#сњ'кше дре'ва колесни'чная, и^ кра'вы. възнесо'ша на вс^ясъж#жега'емая г~ђ”

And the Levites brought up the ark of the Lord, and the coffer with it, and the golden articles upon it, and placed them on the great stone, and the men of Bæthsamys offered whole-burnt-offerings and meat-offerings on that day to the Lord.

Левљ=ти же възнесо'ша киѓ'тъ гн~ь, и^ да'ры ѓ^бложи'ста и^же с не'ю бы'ша. и^ ё^ ниX сосђ'ди зла'тїи и^ положи'ша я& при ка'мени сеM вели'цњмъ. и^ мђжи веџсамђ'ски възнесо'ша вс^ясъж#жега'емая” и^ пожро'ша жрътвђ в то'и дн~ь г~ђ”

And the five lords of the Philistines saw, and returned to Ascalon in that day.

И$ пя'ть вое^во'дъ и^ноплеме'нникъ зря'хђ. и^ възврати'шася въ а^к#каро'нь въ дн~ь то'и”

And these are the golden emerods which the lords of the Philistines gave as a trespass-offering to the Lord; for Azotus one, for Gaza one, for Ascalon one, for Geth one, for Accaron one.

И$ сїи седњ'нїя зла'тыя, и^же възда'ша и^ноплеме'нницы за мђ'кђ г~ђ. а^задьска е^ді'на, га'зска е^ді'на, а^скало'ньска е^ді'на, ге'џ#ска е^ді'на, а^к#каро'ньска е^ді'на”

And the golden mice according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines, belonging to the five lords, from the fenced city to the village of the Pherezite, and to the great stone, on which they placed the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that was in the field of Osee the Bæthsamysite.

И$ зла'тыя мђхи по чисме'нъ всњ'хъ граD и^ноплеме'нническъ пяти` вое^во'дъ эT гра'да ё^тверъжде'на. и^ до ве'си фериѕе'ѓвы, и^ до ка'мени вели'каго. на не'мже положи'ша киѓ'тъ завњта гн~я и^же е^сть и^ до сего дн~и. на селњ`. веџса'мы”

And the sons of Jechonias were not pleased with the men of Bæthsamys, because they saw the ark of the Lord; and the Lord smote among them seventy men, and fifty thousand men: and the people mourned, because the Lord had inflicted on the people a very great plague.

И$ ё^би` б~ъ въ мђже'хъ веџсамђ'скихъ и^же възрњша в# киѓ'тъ гн~ь. и^ ё^би` в ни'хъ, Wн~, и^ о~ мђжїи. и^ пла'кашеся людїе. ја%ко сътвори` г~ь в лю'деX ја%звђ вели'кђ ѕњ'ло”

And the men of Bæthsamys said, Who shall be able to pass before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall the ark of the Lord go up from us?

И$ рњша мђжи и^же эT веџсамђса. кт^о мо'жетъ пои^ти` преD гм~ъ ст~ымъ си'мъ. и^ къ комђ` взы'идетъ киѓ'тъ завњта гн~я, эT наs”

And they send messengers to the inhabitants of Cariathiarim, saying, The Philistines have brought back the ark of the Lord, go down and take it home to yourselves.

²¹

И$ посла'ша послы` къ живђщиM в карїа^џїа^ри'мњ гл~ще. възврати'ша и^ноплемеnницы киѓT гн~ь и^ сни'дњте възнесете и& та'мо к себњ`”
