Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone;

and sent Timothy, our brother, and God’s minister, and our fellow worker in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;

и3 послaхомъ тімоfeа, брaта нaшего и3 служи1телz б9іz и3 споспёшника нaшего во бlговёстіи хrт0вэ, ўтверди1ти вaсъ и3 ўтёшити њ вёрэ вaшей,

that no man be moved by these afflictions; for you yourselves know that hereunto we are appointed.

ћкw ни є3ди1ному смущaтисz въ ск0рбехъ си1хъ: сaми бо вёсте, ћкw на сіE и4стое лежи1мъ [ўчинeни є3смы2].

For verily, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

И$бо є3гдA ў вaсъ бёхомъ, предрек0хомъ вaмъ, ћкw и4мамы скорбёти, є4же и3 бhсть, и3 вёсте.

For this cause I also, when I could no longer forbear, sent that I might know your faith, lest by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor should be in vain.

Сегw2 рaди и3 ѓзъ ктомY не терпS, послaхъ разумёти вёру вaшу, да не кaкw и3скуси1лъ вы2 и3скушazй, и3 вотщE бyдетъ трyдъ нaшъ.

But when Timothy came even now unto us from you, and brought us glad tidings of your faith and love, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, longing to see us, even as we also to see you;

Нн7э же пришeдшу тімоfeю къ нaмъ t вaсъ и3 благовэсти1вшу нaмъ вёру вaшу и3 люб0вь, и3 ћкw и4мате пaмzть њ нaсъ блaгу, всегдA желaюще нaсъ ви1дэти, ћкоже и3 мы2 вaсъ:

for this cause, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction and distress through your faith:

сегw2 рaди ўтёшихомсz, брaтіе, њ вaсъ, во всsкой ск0рби и3 нуждЁ нaшей, вaшею вёрою:

for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

ћкw мы2 нн7э жи1ви є3смы2, ѓще вы2 стои1те њ гDэ.

For what thanksgiving can we render again unto God for you, for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God;

night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

н0щь и3 дeнь преизли1ха молsщесz ви1дэти лицE вaше и3 соверши1ти лишeніе вёры вaшеz;

Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you:

Сaмъ же бGъ и3 nц7ъ нaшъ и3 гDь нaшъ ї}съ хrт0съ да и3спрaвитъ пyть нaшъ къ вaмъ.

and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you;

Вaсъ же гDь да ўмн0житъ и3 да и3збhточествитъ люб0вію дрyгъ ко дрyгу и3 ко всBмъ, ћкоже и3 мы2 къ вaмъ,

to the end he may establish your hearts unblamable in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
