And Josabee daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, took Joas the son of her brother, and stole him from among the king's sons that were put to death, secreting him and his nurse in the bedchamber, and hid him from the face of Gotholia, and he was not slain.

И$ѓ^саве'я же дщ^и цр~я и^ѓ^рама сестра` ѓ^хозїина поя и^ѓа'са сн~а бра'та своеh. и ё^краде и& средњ сн~овъ цр~евыX и^збїеныхъ, того и^ дои'лицђ е^го съкрыи въ клњти постельнеи твердњ, и^ ё^таи` эT лица гоџолїина, и^ не ё^мрътвиша е^го”

And he remained with her hid in the house of the Lord six years: and Gotholia reigned over the land.

И б^њ с не'ю кры'емъ въ до'мђ гн~и, ѕ, лњтъ. и^ гоџо'лїя б^њ црsтвђ'ющи в зе'мли то'й”

And in the seventh year Jodae sent and took the captains of hundreds of the Chorri and of the Rhasim, and brought them to him into the house of the Lord, and made a covenant of the Lord with them, and adjured them, and Jodae shewed them the king's son.

И$ въ сеDмое лњто посла` и^ѓ^да'и жрецъ. и^ поя'тъ тысђщни'ки. хори'ма и^ расима и^ възведе я& къ себњ` въ доM гн~ь, и^ завњща и^мъ завњтъ гн~ь. и^ заклятъ и^хъ преD гм~ъ, и^ показа` и^мъ и^а^до'я сн~а цр~ьска”

And charged them, saying, This is the thing which ye shall do.

И$ заповњ'да и^мъ гл~я с^е сло'во да сътвори'те тре'тїя ча'сть эT ваs да сни'деT в сђбо'тђ. и^ да стре'жете стра'жбђ до'мђ цр~ва”

Let a third part of you go in on the sabbath-day, and keep ye the watch of the king's house in the porch; and another third in the gate of the high way, and a third at the gate behind the footmen; and keep ye the guard of the house.

И$ третїя часть ё^ вратъ ё^ две'рїи пђти, и^ третїя часть ё^ вратъ соза'ди протекђщиX, и^ ё^стреже страQбђ до'мђ”

And there shall be two parties among you, even every one that goes out on the sabbath, and they shall keep the guard of the Lord's house before the king.

И$ дв^а нача'лника эT ва'съ вся'къ и^сходяи в сђбо'тђ. и^ да храняT страж#бђ до'мђ гн~я съ цр~еM

And do ye compass the king about every man with his weapon in his hand, and he that goes into the ranges shall die: and they shall be with the king in his going out and in his coming in.

И$ ѓ^стђпи'те цр~я ѓ%коло, ко'ждо ѓ^рђжїе свое` и^мы'и в рђкђ, і^ и^сходя'и въ преDѓ^гра'дїе да ё%мретъ. и бђдете съ цр~емъ е^гда` въходи'ти е^мђ і^ и^сходи'ти”

And the captains of hundreds did all things that the wise Jodae commanded; and they took each his men, both those that went in on the sabbath-day, and those that went out on the sabbath-day, and went in to Jodae the priest.

И$ сътвори'ша со'тникы вс^я е^ли'ка заповњ'да и^ѓ^да'и смысле'ныи. и^ поя` ко'ждо мђжа своя` и^же и^мња'ше входи'ти въ сђбо'тђ. съ тыми и^же и^мњја%хђ эTходи'ти в# сђбо'тђ. и^ вни'доша къ и^ѓ^да'ю жерцђ”

And the priest gave to the captains of hundreds the swords and spears of king David that were in the house of the Lord.

И да'сть жре'цъ соTникомъ преDходя'щая, и^ копїя цр~я дв~да. и^же быша в до'мђ гн~и”

And the footmen stood each with his weapon in his hand from the right corner of the house to the left corner of the house, by the altar and the house round about the king.

И бњша в рђкаX вое^воD и^ преDходя'щиX и^ сътвориша сотники, и^ преDходящїи по всемђ` е^ли'ко заповњ'да иM жрецъ” И$ собра` жрецъ гн~ь вс^я лю'ди земля во до'мъ гн~ь. и^ ста'ша преDрищђщїи ко'ждо иX ѓ^рђжїе и^мы'и в рђцњ свое'и. эT страны` до'мђ десно'я. да'же до страны` до'мђ шђе^я жрътвеныя. и^ по до'мђ цр~я ѓ%коло”

And he brought forth the king's son, and put upon him the crown and gave him the testimony; and he made him king, and anointed him: and they clapped their hands, and said, Long live the king.

І$ и^зведе сн~а цр~ева. и^ возложи на'нь вњнецъ цр~ьскыи. и^ свњдњнїе. и^ въцр~и е^го и^ пома'за е^го и^ плеска'ли рђка'ма. и^ рњша да' живеT цр~ь”

And Gotholia heard the sound of the people running, and she went in to the people to the house of the Lord.

И$ слы'ша гоџолїя глаs предътекђщ'их# люде'и. и^ вни'де къ наро'дђ в до'мъ гн~ь”

And she looked, and, behold, the king stood near a pillar according to the manner; and the singers and the trumpeters were before the king and all the people of the land even rejoicing and sounding with trumpets: and Gotholia rent her garments, and cried, A conspiracy, a conspiracy.

И$ ви'дњ и^ с^е цр~ь стоа'ше на столпњ по сђ'дђ. и^ бя'хђ преD цр~ем# пњсни и^ трђ'бы. и^ вс^и лю'дїе радђющеся, и^ трђ'бяще въ трђ'бы. и^ раздра` гоџолїя ри'зы своя`. и^ въз#пи и^ рече, зра'да зра'да”

And Jodae the priest commanded the captains of hundreds who were over the host, and said to them, Bring her forth without the ranges, and he that goes in after her shall certainly die by the sword. For the priest said, Let her not however be slain in the house of the Lord.

И$ заповњ'да и^ѓ^да'и жрецъ тысящником#, и^ вла'стелемъ си'лы. и^ рече к ни'мъ и^зведњте ю& во'нъ эT пригра'ды, и^же а%ще кт^о и^зы'детъ по неи смр~тїю да ё'мретъ эT ѓ^рђжїя, понеже рече жреw, не ё^мрътвњте е^я` въ до'мђ гн~и”

And they laid hands upon her, and went in by the way of the horses' entrance into the house of the Lord, and she was slain there.

И$ възложи'ша на ню` рђцњ, і^ и^зведо'ша ю& скопцы` пђтемъ и^схода к не'и до'мђ цр~ева и^ ё'мре т^ђ”

And Jodae made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people, that they should be the Lord's people; also between the king and the people.

¹⁷

И завњща и^ѓ^да'и завњтъ ме'ждђ гм~ъ и^ междђ цр~емъ, и^ междђ люDми, ја%ко бы'ти имъ въ лю'ди гн~я”

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and tore it down, and completely broke in pieces his altars and his images, and they slew Mathan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed overseers over the house of the Lord.

И$ внидо'ша вс^и лю'дїе земля` в до'мъ ваа'ловъ, и^ разбиша и&, и^ жрътвеники е^го, и^ ѓ^бра'зы е^го съкрђши'ша до'брњ. и^ маџа'на жръца ваа'лова ё^би'ша преD лицемъ жрътвеника. и^ поста'ви жрецъ вла'стеля в# до'мђ гн~и”

And he took the captains of the hundreds, and the Chorri, and the Rhasim, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king out of the house of the Lord; and they went in by the way of the gate of the footmen of the king's house, and seated him there on the throne of the kings.

И$ прїя'ша со'тъники, хорима и^ раси'ма, и^ вс^я лю'ди земля. і^ и^зведе` цр~я эT до'мђ гн~я. и^ внидо'ша пђтемъ вра'тъ преDтекђщихъ до до'мђ цр~ева и^ посади'ша и& на прsтолњ цр~евњ”

And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was at rest: and they slew Gotholia with the sword in the house of the king.

И$ възрадовашася вси лю'ди земля` то'я. и^ граD ё^млъча, и^ гоџолїю ё^мрътви'ша ѓ^рђжїеM въ до'мђ цр~евњ” Цр~ь же
