And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother:

сн~е чл~чь, дв^њ женњ бњста д#щери матери е^дїноа.

and they went a-whoring in Egypt in their youth: there their breasts fell, there they lost their virginity.

и^ съблђди'ста вᲆ егљ=п#те, вᲆ юности свое^и съблђди'ста. т^ђ эTпадо'ста със#ца ею`, и^ тђ расыпа'ста дв~ьство.

And their names were Oola the elder, and Ooliba her sister: and they were mine, and bore sons and daughters: and as for their names, Samaria was Oola, and Jerusalem was Ooliba.

и^мена же и%ма, ѓ^ѓ^л#ла старњ'ишая, ѓ^ѓ^лива же меnшая сестра е^я`” И$ бы'ста мнњ`, и^ роди'ста сн~ы и^ дщери. и^мена же и%ма, самаре'я ѓ^ѓ^л#ла, і^ и^ерsли'мᲆ ѓ^ѓ^лива”

And Oola went a-whoring from me, and doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians that were her neighbours,

И съблђди ѓ^ѓ^л#ла эT мене`, и^ възложи на хо'ти своя` къ а^сљ=рїѓмᲆ приближа'ющимъся е^й.

clothed with purple, princes and captains; they were young men and choice, all horsemen riding on horses.

⁶

ѓ^блечен#ны в червеница, сᲄарњ'ишины, и^ вое^воды и^ ю'ноты, и^ꙁбра'нныя вс^я ко'нники снђзны на конехъ.

And she bestowed her fornication upon them; all were choice sons of the Assyrians: and on whomsoever she doted herself, with them she defiled herself in all their devices.

и^ дасть блђженїе е^я` к ни'мъ, къ и^ꙁбра'ннымъ сн~омъ а^сљ=рїискомъ всњмᲆ, и^ на вся` к ниMже въꙁложи. въ всњхъ нечистота'хъ и^хъ ѓ^сквернавляшеся”

And she forsook not her fornication with the Egyptians: for in her youth they committed fornication with her, and they deflowered her, and poured out their fornication upon her.

И$ блђженїя свое^го е^же и^зъ е^гљ=пта не ѓ^ста'ви, ја%ко с не'ю лега'хђ въ ю'ности ея`. и^ тїи расыпа'ша дв~ьство ея`, и^ раꙁ#лїяша блђженїе и^хъ на ню`”

Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the children of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.

Того ради предахъ ю& в рђцњ хотемъ ея` в рђцњ сн~омъ а^сљ=рїискомъ, к ниMже въꙁлага'ше”

They uncovered her shame: they took her sons and daughters, and slew her with the sword: and she became a byword among women; and they wrought vengeance in her for the sake of the daughters.

Тїи эTкры'ша стыдᲇнїе ея`, сн~ы и^ дщери ея` поа'ша, и^ самђ мечемъ ё^сњкнђша. и^ бы'сть поно'съ въ женахъ, и^ эTм#щенїе сътвори'ша в не'и ѓ дще'рехъ”

And her sister Ooliba saw it, and she indulged in her fondness more corruptly than she, and in her fornication more than the fornication of her sister.

И$ ви'дњ сестра` ея` ѓ^ѓ^ли'ва, и^ расыпа възложенїе свое па'че ея`. и^ блђженїе ея`, па'че блђженїя сесᲄры свое'я ё^мно'жи

She doted upon the sons of the Assyrians, princes and captains, her neighbours, clothed with fine linen, horsemen riding on horses; they were all choice young men.

къ сн~омъ а^сљ=рїискомъ въꙁложи`. старњ'ишины и^ вое^воды блиQняа ея`, и^ ѓ^блечен#ны въ бл~гои^сᲄька'нны, коnники снђзны на ко'неX, ю'ноша и^збра'нны вс^я.

And I saw that they were defiled, that the two had one way.

¹³

и^ ви'дњх# ја%ко ѓ^сквернися пђть е^ді'нъ ѓ^бою.

¹⁴

And she increased her fornication, and she saw men painted on the wall, likenesses of the Chaldeans painted with a pencil,

¹⁴

и^ приложи къ блђженїю свое'мђ, и^ ви'дњ мђжа въпи'саны на стенњ ѓ%бразы хальдњ'иски, въпи'саны ша'ромъ,

¹⁵

having variegated girdles on their loins, having also richly dyed attire upon their heads; all had a princely appearance, the likeness of the children of the Chaldeans, of their native land.

¹⁵

и^ ѓпоя'санны по лядвїеM и^хъ по'ясы и^змечтанными, и^ прево'и ѓ^мочени на глава'хъ и^хъ, ѓ^болчени мно'гоѓ^бразно, подо'бно къ сн~омъ вављ=лоньскимъ, халдњ'иски земля` эTч~ества и^хъ.

And she doted upon them as soon as she saw them, and sent forth messengers to them into the land of the Chaldeans.

¹⁶

и въꙁложи на' ня вꙁорь ѓ%чїю своею” И$ посла` послы` к ни'мᲆ въ зе'млю хальдњ'искђ.

¹⁷

And the sons of Babylon came to her, into the bed of rest, and they defiled her in her fornication, and she was defiled by them, and her soul was alienated from them.

¹⁷

и^ прїидо'ша к не'и сн~ове вављ=лоньстїи на ложи стоа'ще, и^ ѓ^сквернави'ша ю& в# соблђжениX. и^ ѓ^сквернавися в ниX, и^ эTстђпи дш~а ея` эT ниX”

¹⁸

And she exposed her fornication, and exposed her shame: and my soul was alienated from her, even as my soul was alienated from her sister.

¹⁸

И$ эTкры блђженїе ея`, и^ эTкры` сᲄыдњ'нїе ея`. и^ эTстђпи дш~а моя` эT нея, ја%коже эTстђпи дш~а моа` эT сесᲄры ея`”

¹⁹

And thou didst multiply thy fornication, so as to call to remembrance the days of thy youth, wherein thou didst commit whoredom in Egypt,

¹⁹

И$ ё^мно'жи блђженїе свое`, ја%ко помянђти дн~и ю%ности свое'я, в ня'же съблђди въ е^гљ=пте”

²⁰

and thou didst dote upon the Chaldeans, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and their members as the members of horses.

²⁰

И$ въꙁложи на халдњя, иXже пло'ти ја%ко плоти ѓ^сля, и^ ја^ко ло'на коньска ло'на и^хъ.

²¹

And thou didst look upon the iniquity of thy youth, the things which thou wroughtest in Egypt in thy lodging, where were the breasts of thy youth.

²¹

и^ присњти безако'нїе ю%ности свое'я, ја^же творя'ше въ е^гљ=пте вᲆ станђ` твое^м#, и^дњже сосца ю%ности твое'я эTпадо'ста”

Therefore, Ooliba, thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will stir up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy soul is alienated, and I will bring them upon thee round about,

ᲄого ради ѓ^ѓ^ливо, с^е гл~етъ а^дона'и г~ь. с^е а%зъ воста'влю хо'ти твоя` на' тя, эT ниXже эTсᲄђпи дш~а твоя`. и^ наведђ я& на' тя ѓ%крsтъ

the children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, Phacuc, and Sue, and Hychue, and all the sons of the Assyrians with them; choice young men, governors and captains, all princes and renowned, riding on horses.

²³

сн~ы вављ=лоньски, и^ вс^я халдњя, факђмъ, и^ сђдїи, и^ кђџъ, и^ вс^я сн~ы а^сљ=рїиски. с ними ю%ноша и^збра'нны, старњ'ишины, и^ вое^воды, и^ вся` колесниqники нарочи'ты, ко'нники на ко'нXњ.

²⁴

And they all shall come upon thee from the north, chariots and wheels, with a multitude of nations, shields and targets; and the enemy shall set a watch against thee round about: and I will set judgment before them, and they shall take vengeance on thee with their judgments.

²⁴

и^ прїидђтъ на' тя вс^и эT сњвера, съ ѓ^рђж'їем# и^ с колесни'цами, и^ съ мно'гоM наро'домъ. и^ защищенїе и^ щи'ты и^ шлемы въꙁложатъ на' тя, и^ поста'вятъ страж#бђ ѓ%крsтъ тебе`” И$ дамъ преD лицемъ и^хъ сђдъ, и^ эTм#стять т^и въ сђдњхъ свои^хъ.

And I will bring upon thee my jealousy, and they shall deal with thee in great wrath: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and shall cast down thy remnant with the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy remnant fire shall devour.

²⁵

и^ дамъ рвенїе мое въ тебњ`, и^ сътворю` с тобо'ю гнњвъ ја%рости мое'я” Но'здри твоа и^ ё^ши твоя` ѓ^брњжTђ, и^ ѓ^ста'вшая мечемъ и^с#сњкђтъ. ᲄїи сн~ы твоя` и^ дще'ря твоя` пои^мTђ, и^ ѓ^ста'вшая твоя потребиT ѓ%гнь.

²⁶

And they shall strip thee of thy raiment, and take away thine ornaments.

²⁶

и^ съвлекђтᲆ с тебе ри'ꙁы твоя`, и^ воZмђтъ сосђ'ды хвалы` твое'я”

²⁷

So I will turn back thine ungodliness from thee, and thy fornication from the land of Egypt: and thou shalt not lift up thine eyes upon them, and shalt no more remember Egypt.

²⁷

И$ эTвращђ нече'сᲄїя твоя` эT тебе, и^ блђженїя твое^го е^же вᲆ е^гљ=пте не помянђ ктомђ”

²⁸

Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hands of those whom thou hatest, from whom thy soul is alienated.

²⁸

Поне'же с^е глетъ а^дона'и г~ь. с^е а^ꙁъ преда'ю т^я въ рђцњ и%хже ненави'диши, и^ эT ни'хже эTстђпи дш~а твоя`.

²⁹

And they shall deal with thee in hatred, and shall take all the fruits of thy labours and thy toils, and thou shalt be naked and bare: and the shame of thy fornication shall be exposed: and thy ungodliness and thy fornication

²⁹

и^ сътворятъ въ тебњ в ненависти, и^ възмђтъ вс^я трђды твоя` и^ дњлеса` твоя`, и^ бђдеши нага и^ съ стђдомъ. и^ эTкры'ется стыдњнїе блђженїя твое^го, и^ нечестїя твое^го”

brought this upon thee, in that thou wentest a-whoring after the nations, and didst defile thyself with their devices.

³⁰

Блђженїе твое` сътвори тебњ с^е, внегда` съблђди` вᲆ слDњ стра'нъ, и^ ѓ^сквернавля'шеся вᲆ кђмирXњ”

³¹

Thou didst walk in the way of thy sister; and I will put her cup into thine hands.

³¹

И$ въ пђти сестры` свое'я походи'ла е^си, и^ да'мъ ча'шђ ея` въ рђцњ твои`”

³²

Thus saith the Lord; Drink thy sister's cup, deep and large, and full, to cause complete drunkenness.

³²

Се^ гл~етъ а^дана'и г~ь, ча'шђ сестры` твое'я и^спїеши глђбокђю и^ широ'кђю. и^ бђдетъ на смXњ и^ похђхна'нїе ли'хое, на ё^питїе

³³

And thou shalt be thoroughly weakened; and the cup of destruction, the cup of thy sister Samaria,

³³

и^ раслабленїя напо'лнишиs. ча'ша же потребленїя и^ погибенїя, ча'ша сесᲄры` твое'я самарїи.

³⁴

drink thou it, and I will take away her feasts and her new moons: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord.

³⁴

і^ и^спїеши ю& и^ посмеrчеши, и^ чрепъ ея` раZбїеши, и^ сосца своя` эTтръѕа'еши” И$ празDники твоя`, и^ нача'ла мsць твои^хъ въз#вращђ. поне'же а^зъ гл~ах#, рече а^дона'и г~ь”

Therefore thus saith the Lord; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore receive thou the reward of thine ungodliness and thy fornication.

³⁵

Сего раd с^е гл~етъ а^дона'и г~ь, в# того мњсто и%мже забы` м^я, и^ эTвр'ьже м^я за тњло свое`. и^ т^ы возми нечестїе свое и^ блDђ сво'и”

³⁶

And the Lord said to me; Son of man, wilt thou not judge Oola and Ooliba? and declare to them their iniquities?

³⁶

И$ реq г~ь къ мнњ, сн~е чл~чь, а^ще сђ'диши ѓ^ѓ^л#лᲇ, и^ ѓ^ѓ^ливᲇ. и^ со'вњстиши и%ма беꙁако'нїа ею`,

³⁷

For they have committed adultery, and blood was in their hands, they committed adultery with their devices, and they passed through the fire to them their children which they bore to me.

³⁷

ја^ко любодњйсᲄвђета, и^ кровь въ рђкђ ею`. и^ въ кђмирехъ ея` любодњ'иствђета. и^ чада ею јаже породи'ста мнњ`, приведђ я& и%ма средᲇ ѓ^гня`.

³⁸

So long too as they did these things to me, they defiled my sanctuary, and profaned my sabbaths.

³⁸

до'ндеже е^гоже ненави'дњхъ сътвори'ста м^и” ѓ^сквернавляхђ ст~ая моа, в то'и дн~ь и^ сђбо'ты моя` ѓ^сквернавля'хђ,

³⁹

And when they sacrificed their children to their idols, they also went into my sanctuary to profane it: and whereas they did thus in the midst of my house;

³⁹

внегда` закала'хђ ча'да своя` кђмиромъ. и^ въхожDахђ въ ст~аа моя` въ то'и дн~ь ѓ^скврᲆнавляхTђ я&” И с^е та'ко творя'ста средњ до'мђ мое^го.

and whereas they did thus to the men that came from afar, to whom they sent messengers, and as soon as they came, immediately thou didst wash thyself, and didst paint thine eyes and adorn thyself with ornaments,

и^ пђщаста къ мђжемъ грядђщимъ и^ꙁда'леча, иMже послы` посыла'ста к ни'мъ. и^ а'бїе и^деy прїидяхђ и^змываю^щеs, и^ ё^тваря'ше ѓ%чи свои`, и^ ё^краша'шеся ё^тваренїемъ.

and satest on a prepared bed, and before it there was a table set out, and as for mine incense and mine oil, they rejoiced in them,

и^ сњдя'ше на ѓ%дрњ постланᲇ, и^ трапеза ё^крашен#на преD нею`” И$ џимїа'мъ мои, и^ ма'сло мое преDлага'ше преD ними, и^ веселя'хђся в ниX.

and they raised a sound of music, and that with men coming from the wilderness out of a multitude of men, and they put bracelets on their hands, and a crown of glory on their heads;

⁴²

и^ гла'съ съглашенїя въз#глаша'хђ къ мђжемъ, эT мно'жества чл~ча приходя'ща эT пђсты'ня” И$ дая'ста прьстьни на' рђки и^хъ, и^ вњнецъ хвалы` на главы` и^хъ.

Therefore I said, Do they not commit adultery with these? and has she also gone a-whoring after the manner of a harlot?

⁴³

и^ рекоX, не в сMњ ли ё^бо любодњ'иство е^сть, и^ дњлеса` блђдница, с^и и^ с^и проблђди'ся”

⁴⁴

And they went in to her, as men go in to a harlot; so they went in to Oola and to Ooliba to work iniquity.

⁴⁴

И$ влажахђ к не'и, ја%коже вла'зятъ къ женњ блђдницы. та'ко влажа'хђ къ ѓ^ѓ^л#лᲇ, и^ къ ѓ^ѓ^ливњ, и^ къ жена'ма безако'нницама, ја%коже сътвори'ти безако'нїе.

And they are just men, and shall take vengeance on them with the judgment of an adulteress and the judgment of blood: for they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.

мђжи же правдиви сїи” и^ эTм#стя'тъ и%ма эTм#щенїеM любодњискомъ, и^ сђдомъ пролива'ю^щих# кро'вь. ја%ко любодњ'ицы е^ста и^ кро'вь въ рђкђ е^ю”

Thus saith the Lord God, Bring up a multitude upon them, and send trouble and plunder into the midst of them.

⁴⁶

Се^ гл~тъ а^дона'и г~ь. приведи на конњхъ наро'ды, да'ждь в нею мятежъ и^ раз#грабренїе.

⁴⁷

And stone them with the stones of a multitude, and pierce them with their swords: they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and shall burn up their houses.

⁴⁷

и^ разбїи ка'менїем# в не'ю, ка'менїем# наро'дъскомъ, и^ да и^збодђтъ копїи свои'ми. сн~ы и^х# и^ дщери и^збїютъ, и^ до'мы и^хъ пожегђтъ ѓ^гнем#.

⁴⁸

And I will remove ungodliness out of the land, and all the women shall be instructed, and shall not do according to their ungodliness.

⁴⁸

и^ въз#вращђ нечестїе эT ꙁемля`, и^ нака'жђтся вс^я же'ны, и^ не сътворя'тъ по нече'стїю ея`.

⁴⁹

And your ungodliness shall be recompensed upon you, and ye shall bear the guilt of your devices: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

⁴⁹

и^ дасться нече'стїе ва'ю на' вы, и^ вс^и грњхи кђми'ръ ва'шихъ прїимете. и^ раꙁђмњ'ете ја%ко а^зъ гл~я, а^дона'и г~ь”
