And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

И бы'сть сло'во гн~е къ мн^њ гл~я,

²

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and thou shalt say to them, On whatsoever land I shall bring a sword, and the people of the land take one man of them, and set him for their watchman:

²

сн~е чл~чь, гл~и къ сн~оM людїи своиX, и^ рече'ши к ниM. ꙁемля` на ню'же а^ꙁъ а%ще наведђ` мечь. и^ по'имTђ лю'дїе ꙁемля` чл~ка е^ді'наго эT себе`, и^ поста'вятъ и& себњ стра'жъ.

and he shall see the sword coming upon the land, and blow the trumpet, and sound an alarm to the people;

и^ ё%ꙁритъ мечь градђщїи на' ꙁемлю, и^ въстрђбитъ трђбо'ю, и^ проповњсть лю'деM.

⁴

and he that hears the sound of the trumpet shall hear indeed, and yet not take heed, and the sword shall come upon him, and overtake him, his blood shall be upon his own head.

и^ послђшае^тъ слы'шавыи трђбђ, и^ не снабди'тся. и^ на'идетъ ме'чь, и^ пости'гнетъ и&, кро'вь е^го на главњ` е^го бђдетъ.

Because he heard the sound of the trumpet, and took no heed, his blood shall be upon him: but the other, because he took heed, has delivered his soul.

ја%ко слы'шавъ гла'съ трђбныи и^ не снабдњся, кро'вь е^го на не'мъ бђдетъ. и^ то'иже ја^ко снабдњ` дш~ђ свою и^ꙁба'ви”

⁶

But if the watchman see the sword coming, and do not sound the trumpet, and the people do not watch; and the sword come, and take a soul from among them, that soul is taken because of its iniquity; but the blood thereof will I require at the watchman's hand.

И$ страQ же а^ще ви'дитъ ме'чь грядђщь, и^ не въстрђ'битъ трђбою, и^ не проповsњ лю'демъ, да ся лю'дїе снабдя'тъ” и^ нашеD ме'чь во'ꙁметъ эT нихъ дш~а. таковы'и ё^бо безако'нїя ради свое^го в#ꙁя'ся, а^ кро'ви ея` эT рђки` стра'жевы в#зыщђ`”

And thou, son of man, I have set thee as a watchman to the house of Israel, and thou shalt hear a word from my mouth.

И$ т^ы сн~е чл~чь, стра'жа т^я е^смь поста'вилъ до'мђ і^и^л~евђ, и^ ё^слы'шиши сло'во эT ё'стъ мои^хъ и^ проповњси и^мъ эT мене`”

When I say to the sinner, Thou shalt surely die; if thou speak not to warn the wicked from his way, the wicked himself shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Є$гда` рекђ` грњшникђ, грњшниче см~ртїю ё'мреши. и^ не бђдеши гл~ати грњшникђ, ја%коже снабдњтися. и^ нечести'вђ, ја%коже ѓ^брати'тися е^мђ эT пђти` е^го, и^ жи'вђ бы'ти е^мђ. то'и беꙁако'нникъ, безако'нїемъ свои^мъ ё'мреᲄъ, а^ кро'ви е^го эT рђки` твое^я в#зыщђ`.

But if thou forewarn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he turn not from his way, he shall die in his ungodliness; but thou hast delivered thine own soul.

а^ще л^и проповњ'си нечести'вђ пђть е^го, ја%ко ѓ^брати'тися с него, и^ не ѓ^брати'тся с пђти` свое^го. то'и в нече'стїи свое^мъ ё'мретъ, а^ ты` дш~ђ свою и^ꙁба'виши”

And thou, son of man, say to the house of Israel; Thus have ye spoken, saying, Our errors, and our iniquities weigh upon us, and we pine away in them, and how then shall we live?

И$ ты сн~е чл~чь, рцы` домђ і^и^л~евђ. си'це рњсте гл~юще. ја%ко прелести на'ша, и^ беꙁако'нїя наша в насъ сђть, и^ мы` в ни'хъ та'емъ. и^ ка'ко намъ жи'вомъ бы'ти”

Say to them, Thus saith the Lord; As I live, I desire not the death of the ungodly, as that the ungodly should turn from his way and live: turn ye heartily from your way; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Рцы` и^мъ ё'бо, жи'въ а^ꙁъ гл~етъ а^дона'и г~ь. ја%ко не хощђ см~рти грњшника, н^о ја%коже ѓ^брати'тися е^мђ эT пђти` свое^го, и^ жи'вђ бы'ти е^мђ. ѓ^браще'нїемъ ѓ^брати'теся, эT пђти` ва'шего ѕла'го. въскђ'ю ё^мира'е^те до'ме і^и^л~евъ”

Say to the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him, in the day wherein he errs: and the iniquity of the ungodly shall not harm him, in the day wherein he turns from his iniquity, but the righteous erring shall not be able to deliver himself.

И$ т^ы сн~е чл~чь, р#цы` къ сн~омъ людїи свои^хъ. пра'вда праvди'ваго не иꙁба'витъ е^го, во'ньже дн~ь прельсти'тся. и^ беꙁако'нїе беꙁако'нника не ё^бїетъ, во'ньже дн~ь ѓ^братиTся эT беꙁако'нїя свое^го” И$ правди'выи не мо'жетъ спsтися въ дн~ь грњха` е^го.

When I say to the righteous, Thou shalt live; and he trusts in his righteousness, and shall commit iniquity, none of his righteousnesses shall be remembered; in his unrighteousness which he has wrought, in it shall he die.

¹³

е^гда рекђ правди'вомђ, жи'ꙁнїю жи'въ бђдеши. сеиy ё^пова'я пра'вдою свое'ю, и^ сътвориT беꙁако'нїе. вся` пра'вды е^го не въспомянђтся. в непра'вдњ е^го ю'же сътвори`, в то'и ё'мреT.

And when I say to the ungodly, Thou shalt surely die; and he shall turn from his sin, and do judgment and justice,

и^ егда` рекђ` нечести'вомђ, смр~тїю ё'мреши. и^ ѓ^брати'тся эT пђти` свое^го, и^ сътвори'тъ сђдъ и^ пра'вдђ.

¹⁵

and return the pledge, and repay that which he has robbed, and walk in the ordinances of life, so as to do no wrong; he shall surely live, and shall not die.

¹⁵

и^ ꙁаи'мъ сђд лъжђ эTда'сть, и^ въсхище'нїе въꙁврати'тъ. беꙁако'н#никъ въ прикаꙁа'нїиX живота` ходи'ти бђдеT, ја%ко не сътвори'ти непра'ведна, жи'ꙁнїю жи'въ бђдетъ и^ не ё^мретъ”

¹⁶

None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered: because he has wrought judgment and righteousness; by them shall he live.

¹⁶

вс^и грњси е^го ја%же е^сть съгрњши'лъ не помянђтся. ја%ко сђдъ и^ пра'вдђ сътвори`, и^ жи'въ бђдетъ в нихъ”

¹⁷

Yet the children of thy people will say, The way of the Lord is not straight: whereas this their way is not straight.

¹⁷

И$ гл~ютъ сн~ове людїи твои^хъ, не пра'въ пђть гн~ь. с^е пђть и^хъ не пра'въ.

¹⁸

When the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and shall commit iniquities, then shall he die in them.

¹⁸

е^гда` съврати'тся правди'выи эT пра'вды своея, и^ сътвори'тъ беꙁако'нїе, ё'мретъ в неM

¹⁹

And when the sinner turns from his iniquity, and shall do judgment and righteousness, he shall live by them.

¹⁹

и^ е^гда грњшникъ въꙁврати'тся эT беꙁако'нїя свое^го, и^ сътво'ритъ сђдъ и^ пра'вдђ, то'и жи'въ бђдетъ в ниX” Слы'ши до'ме і^и^л~евъ, е^да пђть мои непра'въ. ё^бо ваши пђтїе сTђ непра'ви.

And this is that which ye said, The way of the Lord is not straight. I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one for his ways.

се же л^и е^сть е^же реко'сте не пра'въ пђть гн~ь. комђждо васъ по пђти` е^го сђжDђ ваM доме і^и^л~евъ”

²¹

And it came to pass in the tenth year of our captivity, in the twelfth month, on the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped from Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city is taken.

²¹

И$ бы'сть въ второ'енадесяте лњто, мsца втора'гонадесяте въ пя'тыи дн~ь, плњнникъ нашихъ. прїиде къ мнњ эT і^ерsлі'ма ё^целњ'выи, гл~я, повое^ва'ша гра'дъ.

Now the hand of the Lord had come upon me in the evening, before he came; and he opened my mouth, when he came to me in the morning: and my mouth was open, it was no longer kept closed.

²²

и^ рђка` гн~я быs на мнњ` вечеръ, прежде пришесᲄвїя ё^целњвшаго. и^ эTврьꙁе ё^ста` моа ја^коже прїиде къ мнњ` ꙁаё'тра, и^ эTврьꙁо'шася ё%ста` моя не преста'ша ктомђ`”

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

И$ бы'сть слово гн~е къ мн^њ гл~я,

²⁴

Son of man, they that inhabit the desolate places on the land of Israel say, Abraam was one, and he possessed the land: and we are more numerous; to us the land is given for a possession.

²⁴

сн~е чл~чь, живђщеи на ѓ^пђстњвшихъ тњхъ на земли` і^и^л~евњ гл~юще гл~ютъ, на не'иже а^врааM, и^ прїятᲆ ꙁе'млю. а^ мы` мно'жаиши е^смы, намъ дана` е^сть ꙁемля` въ ѓ^дръжа'нїе”

Therefore say to them, Thus saith the Lord God,

Того ради рцы` и^мъ, с^е гл~етъ а^донаи г~ь. е%льма же съ кро'вїю ја%сте`, и^ ѓ'чи ва'ши въздвиго'сте къ кђми'ромъ, и^ кро'вь пролива'ете. и^ ꙁе'млю наслњдите.

²⁷

As I live, surely they that are in the desolate places shall fall by swords, and they that are in the open plain shall be given for food to the wild beasts of the field, and them that are in the fortified cities and them that are in the caves I will slay with pestilence.

²⁶

ста'сте с мече'мъ ва'шимъ, сътвори'сте съгнђше'нїя. и^ ко'ждо женђ` по'дрђга свое^го ѓ^сквернави'сте. и^ зе'млю причасти'сте”

²⁸

And I will make the land desert, and the pride of her strength shall perish; and the mountains of Israel shall be made desolate by reason of no man passing through.

²⁷

Того ради рцы` и^мъ, с^е гл~етъ а^донаи г~ь, живђ` а^ꙁъ. с^е падђтъ мече'мъ сђщїи въ ѓ^пђстњвшихъ. і^ и^же сђть на лици` по'ля, звњремъ по'льскимъ предадђтся на и^ꙁъја%де'нїе. и^ сђщAя въ градехъ, і^ и^же въ пеще'рахъ. см~ртїю поражђ`.

²⁹

And they shall know that I am the Lord; and I will make their land desert, and it shall be made desolate because of all their abominations which they have wrought.

²⁸

и^ дамъ ꙁе'млю на ѓ^пђстњнїе” И$ поги'бнетъ ё^кори'ꙁна крњпости е^го. и^ ѓ^пђстњ'ютъ го'ры і^и^л~евы, зане` не бђдетъ проходя'щего.

³⁰

And as for thee, son of man, the children of thy people are they that speak concerning thee by the walls, and in the porches of the houses, and they talk one to another, saying, Let us come together, and let us hear the words that proceed from the Lord.

²⁹

и^ ё^вњдятъ ја%ко аZ г~ь. и^ сътворю` ꙁе'млю и^хъ пђ'стђ, и^ ѓ^пђстњ'етъ съгнђше'нїи ради и^хъ ја%же сътвори'ша”

³¹

They approach thee as a people comes together, and sit before thee, and hear thy words, but they will not do them: for there is falsehood in their mouth, and their heart goes after their pollutions.

³⁰

И$ ты же сн~е чл~чь сн~ове людїи твои^хъ, гл~юT ѓ^ тебњ ё^ забра'лъ, и^ ё^ вра'тъ дво'рныхъ. и^ гл~ютъ ко'ждо къ по'дрђгђ свое^мђ, и^ ко'ждо къ бра'тђ свое^мђ, гл~юще. събере'мся и^ слы'шимъ чт^о е^сть сло'во и^сходя'щее эT ё'стъ г~а.

³²

And thou art to them as the sound of a sweet, well-tuned psaltery, and they will hear thy words, but they will not do them.

³¹

и^ прїидђтъ к тебњ, ја%коже и^схо'дяT лю'дїе. и^ ся'дђтъ лю'дїе мои` предъ тобо'ю, и^ слышаT гл~ы твоа, и^ не сътворяT и^хъ. ја%ко лжа` въ ё^стњхъ, и^ вᲆ слDњ ѓ^скверне'нїя срDца и^хъ ходяT.

³³

But whenever it shall come to pass, they will say, Behold, it is come: and they shall know that there was a prophet in the midst of them.

³²

и^ бђдеши и^мъ ја%ко гласъ пњсни'вца сла'дка, гла'сомъ до'бре съста'влена. и^ слы'шаT гл~ы твоя, и^ не сътворяT иX.
