Woe to the apostate children, saith the Lord: ye have framed counsel, not by me, and covenants not by my Spirit, to add sins to sins:

Го'ре чада эTврьгшаяся” Се^ гл~еT г~ь, сътвори'сте совTњ не мно'ю, и^ ꙁавњты не дх~оM мои^мъ, приложи'ти грњхи къ грњхомъ.

even they that proceed to go down into Egypt, but they have not enquired of me, that they might be helped by Pharao, and protected by the Egyptians.

и^дђщеи сни'дђтъ въ е^гљ=петъ, мене же не въпрашаша, ја^ко помощи фараѓ'ном#, и^ ꙁастђпи'тися е^гљ=птянъми.

³

For the protection of Pharao shall be to you a disgrace, and there shall be a reproach to them that trust in Egypt.

бђдетъ же вамъ поро'въ фараѓ'на постыдњнїе, и^ ё^пова'ющимъ къ е^гљ=птђ ё^кори'ꙁна.

For there are princes in Tanes, evil messengers.

ја%ко сђть в та'инњ старњишины, вњстныцы ꙁл^и

In vain shall they labour in seeking to a people, which shall not profit them for help, but shall be for a shame and reproach.

въ т#ще трђ'дятся къ лю'демъ, и^же не ё^спњ'ютъ, и^мъ, н^и на' помощъ, н^и на по'лзђ, н^о на стDђ и^ на ё^кориZнђ”

The Vision of the Quadrupeds in the Desert. In affliction and distress, where are the lion and lion's whelp, thence come also asps, and the young of flying asps, there shall they be who bore their wealth on asses and camels to a nation which shall not profit them.

Видњнїе четвероно'гихъ, и^же въ пђсты'ни” Въ печа'ли и^ въ тђѕњ` левъ и^ львичиu. эTтђдђ и^ а'спидъ и^ племя` а%спидъ паря'щиX, и^же несяхђ на ра'мђ и^ на вельблю'дехъ бога'тьство иX, къ сᲄранњ и^же не бы'сть и^мъ въ по'мощъ н^о на стђ'дъ и^ ё^кори'ꙁнђ.

The Egyptians shall help you utterly in vain: tell them, This your consolation is vain.

е^гљ=птяны въ тще и^ въ сђ'е ё^спњваютъ ваM. совњсти и^мъ ја%ко тщета ё^тњше'нїе ва'ше”

Now then sit down and write these words on a tablet, and in a book; for these things shall be for many long days, and even for ever.

Нн~њ ё^бо сњдъ вᲆпиши с^е въ д#скђ, и^ въ кни'ги, ја^ко бђдет# с^е въ дн~и вре'менъ и^ въ вњкъ.

For the people is disobedient, false children, who would not hear the law of God:

ја%ко лю'дїе непокори'ви сђть, сн~ове же лжи'вїи, и^же не похотᲇша слы'шати ꙁа'кона бж~їя.

who say to the prophets, Report not to us; and to them that see visions, Speak them not to us, but speak and report to us another error;

¹⁰

и^же гл~ютъ пррoкомъ, не повњда'ите на'мъ дрђга'го прельщенїя,

¹¹

and turn us aside from this way; remove from us this path, and remove from us the oracle of Israel.

¹¹

да ны съврати'те съ пђти сего. эTи^мњте эT насъ пђть, и^ эTи'мњте эT на'съ сђ'дъ і^и^л~евъ”

Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye have refused to obey these words, and have trusted in falsehood; and because thou hast murmured, and been confident in this respect:

Того` ради си'це гл~етъ г~ь ст~ыи і^и^л~евъ, ја^ко не покори'стеся словесемъ си'мъ, и^ надњ'астеся къ л#жи. и^ ја%ко поропᲄа'сте, и^ ё^пова'я бы'сте къ словеси семђ`”

therefore shall this sin be to you as a wall suddenly falling when a strong city has been taken, of which the fall is very near at hand.

Того ради бђ'детъ ва'мъ сїи грњхъ, ја%ко стњна` пада'ющися внеꙁа'пђ, и^ гра'да тверда плњне'на в не'мже въско'ре бђ'детъ паде'нїе.

And the fall thereof shall be as the breaking of an earthen vessel, as small fragments of a pitcher, so that thou shouldest not find among them a sherd, with which thou mightest take up fire, and with which thou shouldest draw a little water.

бђ'детъ ја%ко сокрђше'нїе сосђ'да гли'нена и^ эT гли'ны да дро'бно, ја%коже не ѓ^брњсти и^мъ чрњпа. в немже ѓ%гнь во'ꙁмеши, и^ во'ньже влїеши воды` ма'ло”

Thus saith the Lord, the Holy Lord of Israel; When thou shalt turn and mourn, then thou shalt be saved; and thou shalt know where thou wast, when thou didst trust in vanities: then your strength became vain, yet ye would not hearken:

Та'ко гл~етъ г~ь ст~ыи і^и^л~евъ. е^гда` воꙁврати'шися и^ въꙁдохнеши, т^о тогда` сп~сешися, и^ раꙁђмњ'еши где е^си бы'лᲆ е^гда` ё^поваше сђи^ми” Тща` крњ'пость ва'ша бы'сть, и^ не хотњсте послђ'шати.

but ye said, We will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will be aided by swift riders; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

¹⁶

н^о реко'сте, къ конемъ прибњ'гнемъ, того ради побњ'гнеᲄе, и^ речеᲄе на ско'рыя воZсядеM” Того ради т#щи бђдTђ гоня'щеи в^ы.

¹⁷

A thousand shall flee because of the voice of one, and many shall flee on account of the voice of five; until ye be left as a signal-post upon a mountain, and as one bearing an ensign upon a hill.

¹⁷

гла'сомъ е^ді'наго пробњгнеT ты'сяща и^ гла'сомъ пяти` пробњгнђтъ мно'ѕи. до'ндеже ѓ^ста'влени бђ'дете а^ки поста'въ на' горњ, и^ ја%ко ꙁна'менїе нося на холмњ`.

And the Lord will again wait, that he may pity you, and will therefore be exalted that he may have mercy upon you: because the Lord your God is a judge: blessed are they that stay themselves upon him.

¹⁸

па'ки пребђдетᲆ б~ъ щедрова'ти вамъ. и^ сего ради въꙁнесе'тся ја%ко помилова'ти ва'съ зане сђдїи г~ь б~ъ на'шᲆ е^сть. где л^и ѓ^ста'вите сла'вђ вашђ” Бл~жени вс^и пребыва'ющеи в него,

For the holy people shall dwell in Sion: and whereas Jerusalem has wept bitterly, saying, Pity me; he shall pity thee: when he perceived the voice of thy cry, he hearkened to thee.

ꙁане лю'дїе ст~їи въ сїѓ'нњ вселя'тся. і^ерsлиM же пла'чеM въспла'кася, поми'лђи м^я” поми'лђетъ т^я гла'съ крыча'нїя твое^го, е^гда` ё'ꙁрњ послђша'юща тебе`”

And though the Lord shall give you the bread of affliction and scant water, yet they that cause thee to err shall no more at all draw nigh to thee; for thine eyes shall see those that cause thee to err,

И$ да'сть б~ъ ваM хлbњ печа'л#ныи, и^ во'дђ тњснђю. и^ ктомђ` не приближа'тся к тебњ льсᲄя'щеи т^я ја%ко ѓ%чи твои` ё%ꙁрятъ льстя'щая т^я,

and thine ears shall hear the words of them that went after thee to lead thee astray, who say, This is the way, let us walk in it, whether to the right or to the left.

и^ ё'ши твои` ё^слы'шатъ словеса` прельсти'вшихъ т^я съꙁа'ди, и^же гл~ютъ. с^е пђть и^дњмъ по не'мђ, и^л^и на' десно л^и на' лњво”

²²

And thou shalt pollute the plated idols, and thou shalt grind to powder the gilt ones, and shalt scatter them as the water of a removed woman, and thou shalt thrust them forth as dung.

²²

И$ эTвръже'ши кђми'ры посребре'ныя и позлаще'н#ныя, и^ на дро'бно сътвори'ши, и^ разлїеши ја%ко во'дђ скверна'выя, и^ а^ки мотыла` эTвръжеши я&”

²³

Then shall there be rain to the seed of thy land; and the bread of the fruit of thy land shall be plenteous and rich: and thy cattle shall feed in that day in a fertile and spacious place.

²³

Тогда` бђдетъ до'ждъ сњмени земля` твоея`, и^ хлњбъ жи'тA земля` твое^я` бђ'деT и^ꙁъѓ^би'ла бл~гъ. и напасђтся ско'ти твои` въ то'и дн~ь на мњстњ бла'ѕњ и^ простра'н#нњ.

Your bulls and your oxen that till the ground, shall eat chaff mixed with winnowed barley.

²⁴

ю%н#цы ва'ши и^ воло'ве дњ'лаю^щеи зеMлю, наја^дяTся плњвъ смњшенъ съ ја^чме'немъ и^ꙁвњ'яномъ”

²⁵

And there shall be upon every lofty mountain and upon every high hill, water running in that day, when many shall perish, and when the towers shall fall.

²⁵

И$ бђ'детъ на вся'кои горњ` высо'цњ, и на вся'комъ хо'лмњ проꙁра'чнњ вода` текђщ'и. въ то'и дн~ь, е^гда` поги'бнTђ мно'ѕи, и^ е^гда` падђтся стол#пи”

²⁶

And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold in the day when the Lord shall heal the breach of his people, and shall heal the pain of thy wound.

²⁶

И$ бђдетъ свњтъ мњ'сячъ а^ки свњтъ слн~чь и^ свњтъ слн~чь бђдетъ сеDмори'цею, въ то'и дн~ь е^гда` и^сцњлитᲆ г~ь съкрђшенїе людїи своиX, и^ болњзнь ја%ꙁвы твое'я и^сцњ'литъ”

Behold, the name of the Lord comes after a long time, burning wrath: the word of his lips is with glory, a word full of anger, and the anger of his wrath shall devour as fire.

²⁷

Се^ и^мя гн~е вре'менемъ и%детъ мно'гомъ, горя'щи ја%рость съ сла'вою сло'во ё^стенъ е^го. сло'во гнњ'ва по'л#но, гнњвъ же ја%рости ја%ко ѓ%гнь попали'тъ,

²⁸

And his breath, as rushing water in a valley, shall reach as far as the neck, and be divided, to confound the nations for their vain error: error also shall pursue them, and overtake them.

²⁸

и^ дх~ъ е^го а^ки вода` в# дебри влекђщи прїидеT до вы'я. и^ раꙁдњ'лится ја^ко смя'сти страны` ѓ^ прельщенїи сђи^мъ. и^ проженетъ я& пре'лесть тща`, и^ прїимеT я& преD лици и^хъ”

Must ye always rejoice, and go into my holy places continually, as they that keep a feast? and must ye go with a pipe, as those that rejoice, into the mountain of the Lord, to the God of Israel?

²⁹

Є$да при'сно е^сть вамъ ра'доватися, и^ въходи'ти въ ѓ^сщ~енїа моа прsно, а^ки праꙁнђ'ющеM и^ ја%ко веселя'щеMся вни'ти съ сопњлїю въ го'рђ гн~ю къ б~ђ і^и^л~евђ.

And the Lord shall make his glorious voice to be heard, and the wrath of his arm, to make a display with wrath and anger and devouring flame: he shall lighten terribly, and his wrath shall be as water and violent hail.

³⁰

и^ слы'шанђ сътво'ритъ б~ъ сла'вђ гла'са своеh, и^ ја%рость мы'шца свое'я, покаꙁа'ти съ ја%ростїю и^ съ гнњ'вомъ. и^ с пла'менемъ попаля'ющемъ, и^ съ трясновенїемъ бњ'дномъ, и^ ја%ко вода` и^ граD съходя` нђ'жею”

For by the voice of the Lord the Assyrians shall be overcome, even by the stroke wherewith he shall smite them.

³¹

Гла'сомъ б^о гн~им# ё^менша'ютъ ја%ꙁвою а^сљ=рїи, е^ю%же а^ще пораѕиT я&.

³²

And it shall happen to him from every side, that they from whom their hope of assistance was, in which he trusted, themselves shall war against him in turn with drums and with harp.

³²

и^ бђдетъ ѓ%крsтъ эTнђ'дђже б^њ е^мђ наде'жа помышля'ти, е^ю'же то'и ё^пова'ше, съ сопᲇльми и^ гђ'сльми ратђ'ютᲆ на'нь эT премњне'нїя”

³³

For thou shalt be required before thy time: has it been prepared for thee also to reign? nay, God has prepared for thee a deep trench, wood piled, fire and much wood: the wrath of the Lord shall be as a trench kindled with sulphur.

³³

Не преже б^о дн~ь въспро'сится эT тебе`. е^да` и^ тебњ ё^гото'вася црsтвова'ти въ дебри` глђбо'цњ, и^ древеса лежа'ща ѓ%гнь и^ древеса мно'га. ја^рость б^о гн~я а^ки дебрᲆ ка'мы'комъ горя'щемъ жего'ма”
