Then came all the leaders of the host, and Joanan, and Azarias the son of Maasæas, and all the people great and small,

Рцы' же сн~омъ а^м#мо'нимъ. тако гл~етъ г~ь, е^да не сTђ сн~ове і^и^л~еви, и^л^и наслњдника нњсть е^мђ. почт^о ё^бо прїа наслњдїе мелхом# га'дъ, и^ лю'дїе е^го въ гра'дњхъ е^го живя'хђ.

to Jeremias the prophet, and said to him, Let now our supplication come before thy face, and pray thou to the Lord thy God for this remnant; for we are left few out of many, as thine eyes see.

сего ра'ди с^е дн~їе грядђт# гл~етъ г~ь, и^ ѓ^глашђ на рав#ватъ сн~овъ а^м#мо'нь ра'тныи ꙁвђкъ. и^ бђдетᲆ въ праX раꙁме'тано, и^ дще'ри е^го ѓ^гне'мъ ꙁаж#же'ны бђдђтъ. и^ въспрїиметъ і^и^л~ь вла'сть свою гл~етъ г~ь.

And let the Lord thy God declare to us the way wherein we should walk, and the thing which we should do.

възопїи е^сево'нъ, ја%ко погђби'ся га'и. въпїите дще'ри равваџ#ски, препояши'теся вре'тищемъ, рыда'ите и^ бњга'ите по ꙁабра'лахъ. ја%ко мелхомъ въ плњнъ эTведется, сщ~ен#ницы и^ кня'ѕи е^го въкђпњ.

And Jeremias said to them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray for you to the Lord our God, according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever word the Lord God shall answer, I will declare it to you; I will not hide anything from you.

чт^о хва'лишися въ ё^до'лїяхъ, снїиде ё^до'лїе твое дщи прекра'сна, ё^повающїя бога'т#ствоM свои^мъ, гл~я, кт^о прїидеT на' мя

And they said to Jeremias, Let the Lord be between us for a just and faithful witness, if we do not according to every word which the Lord shall send to us.

Се а^ꙁъ приведђ` на' тя страX, гл~еT г~ь вседръжи'тель, эT всњхъ сђщихъ ѓ%крsтъ тебе. и^ расњ'етеся вси эT лица` ва'шего, и^ ниже бђдетъ събира'юща бњжа`.

And whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will hearken to the voice of the Lord our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, because we shall hearken to the voice of the Lord our God.

и^ посемъ въꙁращђ плњнники сн~овъ а^м#мо'нь” Гл~етъ г~ь

And it came to pass after ten days, that the word of the Lord came to Jeremias.

къ и^дђмеи. та'ко гл~етъ г~ь вседръжи'тель, е^гда нњсть к#семђ мђдрости въ џема'нњ. поги'бе совњтъ эT сн~овъ, и^ непотре'бна е^сть мђдроs иX

And he called Joanan, and the leaders of the host, and all the people from the least even to the greatest,

бњжи'те и^ лица эTвраща'иᲄе снидите во а'дъ живђщеи деда'нъ. зане поги'бель и^са'влю приведоX на'нь, ча'съ посњще'нїя е^го.

and he said to them, Thus saith the Lord;

⁹

а^ще бы ѓ^бъи^ма'тели вина` пришли` на' тя, ё'бо не ѓ^ста'вили бы ни греꙁна`. а^ще ли же та'тїе бы` в нощи пришли похиᲄи'ли бы т^о, что` довлњ и^мъ.

If ye will indeed dwell in this land, I will build you, and will not pull you down, but will plant you, and in no wise pluck you up: for I have ceased from the calamities which I brought upon you.

но а^ꙁъ ја^ви'хъ и^са'ва, эTкры'хъ та'иная е^го, и^ не въꙁможетъ ё^таи'тися. погђблено е^сть сњмя е^го, и^ бра'тїя е^го, и^ сосњди е^го,

¹¹

Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the Lord: for I am with you, to deliver you, and save you out of their hand.

¹¹

и^ не бђдетъ” ѓ^ста'ви си'роты твоя, а^ꙁ же и^мъ повелю` жи'вомъ бы'ти, и^ вдови'цы твоя на мя ё^пова'ти бђдђтъ”

¹²

And I will grant you mercy, and pity you, and will restore you to your land.

¹²

Та'ко б^о гл~етъ г~ь, с^е и^мже не было сђдђ, да пїютъ ча'шђ, пїюще и^спїютъ. ты же ја%ко непови'нныи ѓ^ста'неши. не бђдеши непови'нен#, н^о пїя и^спїеши.

¹³

But if ye say, We will not dwell in this land, that we may not hearken to the voice of the Lord;

¹³

собо'ю б^о кляхся гл~етъ г~ь, ја%ко въ пђсты'ню и^ въ порђга'нїе, и^ въ посмњхъ и^ въ прокля'тїе бђдетъ во'зра, и^ вся гра'ды е^го бђдTђ въ пђсты'ню вњчнђю”

for we will go into the land of Egypt, and we shall see no war, and shall not hear the sound of a trumpet, and we shall not hunger for bread; and there we will dwell:

СлXђ слы'шахъ эT г~а, и^ посолъ во ја%ꙁы'ки посланъ е^сть. съберᲇтеся і^ и^дњте противђ е^мђ, и^ въста'неM на ѓ^плъче'нїе. ја%ко

¹⁵

then hear the word of the Lord; thus saith the Lord;

¹⁵

с^е мала да'хъ т^я въ сᲄранахъ, и^ порђга'нымъ среди людїи”

¹⁶

If ye set your face toward Egypt, and go in there to dwell; then it shall be, that the sword which ye fear shall find you in the land of Egypt, and the famine to which ye have regard, shall overtake you, coming after you in Egypt; and there ye shall die.

¹⁶

Противле'нїе твое прельсти' тя, и го'рдость срDца твое^го. живя'и в# пещерахъ камен#нахъ, и^ похити'ти ё^крњпля'ешися верхђ хо'лма. е^гда въꙁнесеши ја%ко ѓ^ре'лъ гнњздо свое, эTто'лњ све'ргђ т^я, гл~етъ г~ь.

And all the men, and all the strangers who have set their face toward the land of Egypt to dwell there, shall be consumed by the sword, and by the famine: and there shall not one of them escape from the evils which I bring upon them.

¹⁷

и^ бђдетъ и^дђмея пђста`. всякъ ходя'и чреꙁъ ню` подиви'тся, и^ въꙁъгл~етъ наD всякими ја%звами е^я.

¹⁸

For thus saith the Lord; As my wrath has dropped upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so shall my wrath drop upon you, when ye have entered into Egypt: and ye shall be a desolation, and under the power of others, and a curse and a reproach: and ye shall no more see this place.

¹⁸

ја%коже превраще'на е^сть содо'ма и^ гомо'ра, и^ сосњды е^я, гл~еT г~ь. не поживетъ та'мо мђжъ, ниже пребђдетъ в# неи сн~ъ чл~чь.

¹⁹

These are the words which the Lord has spoken concerning you the remnant of Juda; Enter ye not into Egypt: and now know ye for a certainty,

с^е ја%ко ле'въ и^ꙁыиде съ преꙁо'ръства і^ѓ^рда'ня эT красоты си'лны, ја%ко скорњ повњмъ е^мђ бњжа'ти к неи. и^ кт^о бђдетъ тако и^ꙁбраn, е^гоже посᲄа'влю наD нею. кто бо подо'бенъ мнњ, и^ кт^о постои^тъ предо мною. кто' же е^сть сеи па'стыръ, и^же съпроти'виTся лицђ мое^мђ”

that ye have wrought wickedness in your hearts, when ye sent me, saying, Pray thou for us to the Lord; and according to all that the Lord shall speak to thee we will do.

²⁰

Сего ради слы'шите совTњ гн~ь, и^же совњща на е^до'ма. и^ мышле'нїе е^го, е^же помы'сли ѓ^ живђщихъ въ џема'нъ. не свергђ л^и и^хъ мала эT ста'да, и^ не раꙁмещђ ли с ни'ми жили'ща и^хъ.

And ye have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord, with which he sent me to you.

²¹

эT гла'са паде'нїа и^хъ потрясеся земля`, во'пль на' мори чрьмнемъ слы'шася гла'са и^хъ”

²²

Now therefore ye shall perish by sword and by famine, in the place which ye desire to go into to dwell there.

²²

Се` ја%ко ѓ^ре'лъ въꙁы'идетъ и^ възлетиT, и^ простреT кры'лњ свои` наD во'зрђ. и^ бђдетᲆ срDце си'лныхъ и^дђме'искиX в# тои дн~ь, ја%ко срDце жены` родя'щїа”
