Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.

Приближа́шеся же пра́здник опрісно́к, глаго́лемий Па́сха;

And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death; for they feared the people.

і іска́ху архієре́є і кни́жници, ка́ко би уби́ли Єго́, боя́хуся бо люде́й.

And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.

Вни́де же сатана́ во Іу́ду, нарица́ємаго Іскаріо́т, су́ща от числа́ обоюна́десяте.

And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them.
4
І шед глаго́ла архієре́йом і воєво́дам, ка́ко Єго́ преда́сть їм.

And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
5
І возра́довашася, і совіща́ша єму́ сре́бреники да́ти;
6
And he consented, and sought opportunity to deliver him unto them in the absence of the multitude.

і іспові́да [обіща́ся], і іска́ше удо́бна вре́мене, да преда́сть Єго́ їм без наро́да.

And the day of unleavened bread came, on which the passover must be sacrificed.

При́йде же день опрісно́ков, во́ньже подоба́ше жре́ти па́сху;

And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and make ready for us the passover, that we may eat.
8
і посла́ Петра́ і Іоа́нна, рек: ше́дша угото́вайта нам па́сху, да я́ми.
9
And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we make ready?
9
О́на же реко́ста Єму́: гді хо́щеши угото́ваєм?

And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whereinto he goeth.

Он же рече́ ї́ма: се восходя́щема ва́ма во град, сря́щеть ви челові́к в скуде́льниці во́ду нося́; по нем іді́та в дом, во́ньже вхо́дить,
11
And ye shall say unto the master of the house, The Teacher saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

і рці́та до́му влади́ці: глаго́леть тебі́ Учи́тель: гді єсть оби́тель, іді́же па́сху со ученики́ Мої́ми снім?

And he will show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
12
І той ва́ма пока́жеть го́рницю ве́лію по́стлану; ту угото́вайта.
13
And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
13
Ше́дша же обріто́ста, я́коже рече́ ї́ма, і угото́васта па́сху.
14
And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
14
І єгда́ бисть час, возлеже́, і обана́десяте апо́стола с Ним.
15
And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
15
І рече́ к ним: жела́нієм возжелі́х сію́ па́сху я́сти с ва́ми, пре́жде да́же не прийму́ мук;
16
for I say unto you, I shall not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
16
глаго́лю бо вам, я́ко отсе́лі не і́мам я́сти от нея́, до́ндеже сконча́ються во Ца́рствії Бо́жиї.
17
And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
17
І приі́м ча́шу, хвалу́ возда́в, рече́: приймі́те сію́, і разділі́те себі́;
18
for I say unto you, that I shall not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
18
глаго́лю бо вам, я́ко не і́мам пи́ти от плода́ ло́знаго, до́ндеже Ца́рствіє Бо́жиє при́йдеть.
19
And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

І приі́м хліб, хвалу́ возда́в преломи́, і даде́ їм, глаго́ля: сіє́ єсть Ті́ло Моє́, є́же за ви дає́мо; сіє́ творі́те в Моє́ воспомина́ніє.
20
In like manner also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, even that which is poured out for you.
20
Та́кожде же і ча́шу по ве́чері, глаго́ля: сія́ ча́ша — Но́вий Заві́т Моє́ю Кро́вію, я́же за ви пролива́ється;
21
But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
21
оба́че се, рука́ предаю́щаго М'я со Мно́ю (єсть) на трапе́зі,
22
And the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!
22
і Син у́бо Челові́чеський і́деть по рече́нному [по предуста́вленному сові́ту]; оба́че го́ре челові́ку тому́, і́мже предає́ться.
23
And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
23
І ті́ї нача́ша іска́ти в себі́, кото́рий у́бо от них хо́щеть сіє́ сотвори́ти.
24
And there arose also a contention among them, which of them was accounted to be greatest.
24
Бисть же і пря в них, кий мни́ться їх би́ти бо́лій.
25
And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.
25
Он же рече́ їм: ца́ріє язи́к госпо́дствують ї́ми, і облада́ющії ї́ми благода́теле нарица́ються.
26
But ye shall not be so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.
26
Ви же не та́ко: но бо́лій в вас, да бу́деть я́ко мній, і ста́рій, я́ко служа́й.
27
For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
27
Кто бо бо́лій, возлежа́й ли, іли́ служа́й? Не возлежа́й ли? Аз же посреді́ вас єсьм я́ко служа́й.
28
But ye are they that have continued with me in my temptations;
28
Ви же єсте́ преби́вше со Мно́ю в напа́стех Мої́х,
29
and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,
29
і Аз завіщава́ю вам, я́коже завіща́ Мні Оте́ць Мой, Ца́рство,
30
that ye may eat and drink at my table; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
30
да я́сте і піє́те на трапе́зі Моє́й во Ца́рствії Моє́м, і ся́дете на престо́ліх, судя́ще обімана́десяте колі́нома Ізра́їлевома.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:
31
Рече́ же Госпо́дь: Си́моне, Си́моне, се сатана́ про́сить вас, да би сі́ял, я́ко пшени́цю,
32
but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.
32
Аз же моли́хся о тебі́, да не оскуді́єть ві́ра твоя́; і ти ні́когда, обра́щся, утверди́ бра́тію твою́.
33
And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.
33
Он же рече́ Єму́: Го́споди, с Тобо́ю гото́в єсьм і в темни́цю і на смерть іти́.
34
And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.
34
Он же рече́: глаго́лю ті, Пе́тре, не возгласи́ть пі́тель днесь, до́ндеже трикра́ти отве́ржешися Мене́ не ві́діти.

And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.
35
І рече́ їм: єгда́ посла́х ви без влага́лища і без мі́ха, і без сапо́г, єда́ чесого́ лише́ні би́сте? Они́ же рі́ша: нічесо́же.
36
He said therefore unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, he shall sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
36
Рече́ же їм: но ни́ні, і́же і́мать влага́лище, да во́зьметь, та́кожде і міх, а і́же не і́мать, да прода́сть ри́зу свою́, і ку́пить нож.
37
For I say unto you, that this which is written must yet be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for the things concerning me have fulfillment.

Глаго́лю бо вам, я́ко єще́ пи́саноє се, подоба́єть, да сконча́ється о Мні, є́же: і со беззако́нними вміни́ся. І́бо є́же о Мні, кончи́ну і́мать.

And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Они́ же рі́ша: Го́споди, се ножа́ зді два. Он же рече́ їм: дово́льно єсть.
39
And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
39
(Зач. 109) І ізше́д і́де по оби́чаю в го́ру Єлео́нськую; по Нем же ідо́ша ученици́ Єго́.

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
40
Бив же на мі́сті, рече́ їм: молі́теся, да не вни́дете в напа́сть.
41
And he was parted from them about a stone’s cast; and he knelt down and prayed,
41
І Сам отступи́ от них, я́ко верже́нієм ка́мене, і, покло́нь колі́на, моля́шеся,
42
saying, Father, if thou be willing to remove this cup from me—nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
42
глаго́ля: О́тче, а́ще во́лиши мимонести́ ча́шу сію́ от Мене́! Оба́че не Моя́ во́ля, но Твоя́ да бу́деть.
43
And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
43
Яви́ся же Єму́ а́нгел с небесе́, укріпля́я Єго́.
44
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.
44
І, бив в по́двизі, прилі́жніє моля́шеся; бисть же пот Єго́, я́ко ка́плі кро́ве ка́плющия на зе́млю.
45
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,
45
І воста́в от моли́тви (і) прише́д ко ученико́м, обрі́те їх спя́щих от печа́лі
46
and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
46
і рече́ їм: что спите́? Воста́вше молі́теся, да не вни́дете в напа́сть.

And while he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.
47
Єще́ же Єму́ глаго́лющу, се наро́д і нарица́ємий Іу́да, єди́н от обоюна́десяте, ідя́ше пред ни́ми, і приступи́ ко Ісу́сові цілова́ти Єго́. Сіє́ бо бі зна́меніє дал їм: Єго́же а́ще лобжу́, Той єсть.

But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
48
Ісу́с же рече́ єму́: Іу́до, лобза́нієм ли Си́на Челові́чеськаго предає́ши?

And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
49
Ви́дівше же, і́же бі́ху с Ним, бива́ємоє, рі́ша Єму́: Го́споди, а́ще уда́рим ноже́м?

And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.
50
І уда́ри єди́н ні́кий от них архієре́йова раба́ і урі́за єму́ у́хо десно́є.

But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye them thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.
51
Отвіща́в же Ісу́с рече́: оста́віте до сего́. І косну́вся у́ха єго́, ісціли́ єго́.
52
And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, that were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?
52
Рече́ же Ісу́с ко прише́дшим Нань архієре́йом і воєво́дам церко́вним і ста́рцем: я́ко на разбо́йника ли ізидо́сте со ору́жієм і дреко́льми я́ти М'я?

When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

По вся дні су́щу Мі с ва́ми в це́ркві, не простро́сте руки́ на М'я; но се єсть ва́ша годи́на і о́бласть те́мная.

And they seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.

Є́мше же Єго́ ведо́ша, і введо́ша Єго́ во двор архієре́йов. Петр же вослі́д ідя́ше іздале́ча.

And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.

Возгні́щшим же огнь посреді́ двора́ і вку́пі сідя́щим їм, сідя́ше Петр посреді́ їх.

And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light of the fire, and looking steadfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.
56
Узрі́вши же єго́ раби́ня ні́кая сідя́ща при сві́ті [огні́], і воззрі́вши нань, рече́: і сей с Ним бі.
57
But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
57
Он же отве́ржеся Єго́, глаго́ля: же́но, не зна́ю Єго́.

And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.
58
І пома́лі други́й ви́дів єго́, рече́: і ти от них єси́. Петр же рече́: челові́че, нісьм.
59
And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him; for he is also a Galilean.

І мимоше́дшу я́ко часу́ єди́ному, ін ні́кий кріпля́шеся глаго́ля: воі́стину і сей с Ним бі, і́бо Галиле́янин єсть.

But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, a cock crowed.
60
Рече́ же Петр: челові́че, не вім, є́же глаго́леши. І а́біє, єще́ глаго́лющу єму́, возгласи́ пі́тель.

And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.

І обра́щся Госпо́дь воззрі́ на Петра́; і пом'яну́ Петр сло́во Госпо́днє, я́коже рече́ єму́, я́ко пре́жде да́же пі́тель не возгласи́ть, отве́ржешися Мене́ трикра́ти.

And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

І ізше́д вон, пла́кася го́рко.
63
And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him.
63
І му́жіє держа́щії Ісу́са руга́хуся Єму́, бію́ще;
64
And having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?
64
і закри́вше Єго́, бія́ху Єго́ по лицю́ і вопроша́ху Єго́, глаго́люще: прорци́, кто єсть ударе́й Тя?
65
And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.
65
І і́на мно́га ху́ляще глаго́лаху Нань.
66
And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, chief priests and scribes; and they led him up into their council, saying,
66
І я́ко бисть день, собра́шася ста́рці людсті́ї, і архієре́є, і кни́жници, і ведо́ша Єго́ на сонм свой,
67
If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
67
глаго́люще: а́ще Ти єси́ Христо́с? Рци нам. Рече́ же їм: а́ще вам реку́, не і́мете ві́ри;
68
and if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.
68
а́ще же і вопрошу́ [ви], не отвіща́єте Мі, ні отпустите́;
69
From henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.
69
отсе́лі бу́деть Син Челові́чеський сідя́й одесну́ю си́ли Бо́жия.
70
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.
70
Рі́ша же всі: Ти ли у́бо єси́ Син Бо́жий? Он же к ним рече́: ви глаго́лете, я́ко Аз єсьм.
71
And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.
71
Они́ же рі́ша: что єще́ тре́буєм свиді́тельства? Са́мі бо сли́шахом от уст Єго́.
