I will not go into the tabernacle of my house; I will not go up to the couch of my bed;

Як він присягався Господу, давав обітниці Богу Якова:

I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids, nor rest to my temples,

«Не ввійду в світлицю дому мого, не ляжу на постіль мою,
5
until I find a place for the Lord, a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.

не дам заснути очам моїм і задрімати повікам моїм;
6
Behold, we heard of it in Ephratha; we found it in the fields of the wood.

не заспокоюся, поки не знайду оселі для Господа, дому для Бога Якова».

Let us enter into his tabernacles: let us worship at the place where his feet stood.

Ось ми чули про Нього в Єфрафі, знайшли Його на полях Іарима.

Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thine holiness.

Ходімо в оселі Його, поклонімося підніжжю ніг Його.
9
Thy priests shall clothe themselves with righteousness; and thy saints shall exult.
8
Воскресни, Господи, у спокій Твій, Ти і кивот святині Твоєї.
10
For the sake of thy servant David turn not away the face of thine anointed.

Священики Твої зодягнуться в правду, і преподобні Твої зрадіють.
11
The Lord sware in truth to David, and he will not annul it, saying, Of the fruit of thy body will I set a king upon thy throne.

Ради Давида, раба Твого, не відверни лиця від помазаника Твого.
12
If thy children will keep my covenant, and these my testimonies which I shall teach them, their children also shall sit upon thy throne for ever.

Клявся Господь Давиду істиною і не зречеться її: «Із синів роду твого посаджу на престолі твоїм.
13
For the Lord has elected Sion, he has chosen her for a habitation for himself, saying,
12
А коли сини твої зберігатимуть завіт Мій і повеління Мої, яких Я навчу їх, то й сини їхні навіки сидітимуть на престолі твоїм».
14
This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have chosen it.
13
Вибрав Господь Сион, забажав [його] на оселю для Себе.
15
I will surely bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
14
«Це місце спокою Мого повік віку, сказав Господь, тут оселюся, бо Я полюбив його.
16
I will clothe her priests with salvation; and her saints shall greatly exult.
15
Поживу його Я, благословляючи, благословлю, і вбогих його Я нагодую хлібом.
17
There will I cause to spring up a horn to David: I have prepared a lamp for mine anointed.
16
Священиків його Я зодягну в спасіння, і праведні його будуть радіти радістю.
18
His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall my holiness flourish.
17
Там Я вирощу спасіння Давидові, поставлю світильник помазанику Моєму.
