This Psalm is a genuine one of David, though supernumerary, composed when he fought in single combat with Goliad. I was small among my brethren, and youngest in my father's house: I tended my father's sheep.

My hands formed a musical instrument, and my fingers tuned a psaltery.

Мaлъ бёхъ въ брaтіи моeй и3 ю4ншій въ домY nтцA моегw2: пас0хъ џвцы nтцA моегw2.

And who shall tell my Lord? the Lord himself, he himself hears.

Рyцэ мои2 сотвори1стэ nргaнъ, и3 пeрсты мои2 состaвиша pалти1рь.

He sent forth his angel, and took me from my father's sheep, and he anointed me with the oil of his anointing.

И# кто2 возвэсти1тъ гDеви моемY; Сaмъ гDь, сaмъ ўслhшитъ:

My brothers were handsome and tall; but the Lord did not take pleasure in them.

Сaмъ послA ѓгGла своего2, и3 взsтъ мS t nвeцъ nтцA моегw2, и3 помaза мS є3лeемъ помaзаніz своегw2.

I went forth to meet the Philistine; and he cursed me by his idols.

Брaтіz мо‰ добри2 и3 вели1цы: и3 не бlговоли2 въ ни1хъ гDь.

But I drew his own sword, and beheaded him, and removed reproach from the children of Israel.
