And it came to pass in the fourth year of Darius the king, that the word of the Lord came to Zacharias on the fourth day of the ninth month, which is Chaseleu.

И бы'сть въ четве'ртое лњто при дарїи цр~и. бы'сть сло'во гн~е к# захарїи, в# чеᲄвертыи мsца девя'таго, е^же е^сть хаслељ=.

And Sarasar and Arbeseer the king and his men sent to Bæthel, and that to propitiate the Lord,

и^ посла` въ веџи'ль сар#саръ, и^ а^рвесеер# цр~ь, и^ мђжи и^же с ни'мъ ѓ^цы'стиᲄися гв~и,

³

speaking to the priests that were in the house of the Lord Almighty, and to the prophets, saying, The holy offering has come in hither in the fifth month, as it has done already many years.

гл~я, къ сщ~енныM и^же в# хра'мњ г~а бг~а вседръжителя и^ къ пррoкомъ, а^ще вниде здњ`, в пя'тыи мsць ст~ыни. плача` и^л^и постя'ся, ја%коже сътвори ё^же мно'га лњта”

And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,

И$ бы'сть сло'во г~а вседръжи'теля къ мнњ`, гл~я,

⁵

Speak to the whole people of the land, and to the priests, saying, Though ye fasted or lamented in the fifth or seventh months (yea, behold, these seventy years) have ye at all fasted to me?

рцы` къ всњ'мъ лю'демъ земля` и^ къ сщ~енныM гл~я, а^ще пости'теся и^ли пла'че вопльстви'те въ пя'тыи и^ сеDмыи мsцᲆ сеDмьдеся'тъ лњтъ, е^да` по'стомъ по'стисᲄемися.

And if ye eat or drink, do ye not eat and drink for yourselves?

⁶

и^ а'ще ја%сте и^ пїете, не вы` л^и ја%сте и^ в^ы пїете.

⁷

Are not these the words which the Lord spoke by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and her cities round about her, and the hill country and the low country was inhabited?

не се л^и сђть словеса` ја%же гл~а г~ь рђкою проро'къ преD нихъ е^гда` б^њ і^ерsлиM вселен#, и^ гобзђ'ющеи гра'ды е^го ѓ^крsтъ, и^ поDгорїе и^ подольныя вселе'ни бяхђ”

And the word of the Lord came to Zacharias, saying,

И$ бы'сть сло'во гн~е къ заха'рїи, гл~я,

⁹

Thus saith the Lord Almighty; Judge righteous judgment, and deal mercifully and compassionately every one with his brother:

си'це гл~етъ г~ь вседръжитель. сђдᲆ пра'ведетъ сђди'те, и^ млsти и^ щедроты твори'те кождо и^скрьнемђ свое^мђ.

and oppress not the widow, or the fatherless, or the stranger, or the poor; and let not one of you remember in his heart the injury of his brother.

а^ вдови'цы, и^ си'ра, и^ прише'лца, и^ ё^бога не насильствђ'ите. и^ зло'бы кождо бра'та свое^го да не по'мните н^и вражды въ срDцахъ своиX”

But they refused to attend, and madly turned their back, and made their ears heavy, so that they should not hear.

и^ противи'шася внима'ти, и^ да'ша плеща и^хъ не мђдръствђ'юща, и^ ё^шеса` своа ѓ^тяжи'ша не ё^слышаᲄи,

And they made their heart disobedient, so as not to hearken to my law, and the words which the Lord Almighty sent forth by his Spirit by the former prophets: so there was great wrath from the Lord Almighty.

и^ срDца своа` ё^чини'ша проти'вна не послђша'ти зако'на мое^го, и^ сло'во е^же посла` г~ь вседръжи'тель дх~омъ свои^мъ рђкою пррoкъ пред# нихъ” И$ бы'сть гнњвъ вели'кїи эT г~а вседръжи'теля.

And it shall come to pass, that as he spoke, and they hearkened not, so they shall cry, and I will not hearken, saith the Lord Almighty.

и^ бђдетъ в# неже кова'ръство рече, и^ не ё^слы'шаша е^го. си'це въꙁъпїютъ, и^ не и'мамᲆ ё^слы'шати, гл~етъ г~ь вседръжи'тель.

¹⁴

And I will cast them out among all the nations, whom they know not; and the land behind them shall be made utterly destitute of any going through or returning: yea they have made the choice land a desolation.

¹⁴

и^ вынесђ я& ја%коже въ ви'хрњ въ вся ја%зы'ки и^же не разђмњша. и^ ꙁемля` запђстњ'етъ по ниX эT мимоходя'ща и^ эT воZвраща'ющагося. и^ ё^чиниша и^ꙁбра'ннђю зе'млю в# запђстњнїе”
