(Зач. 50) Іа́ков, Бо́гу і Го́споду Ісу́су Христу́ раб, обімана́десяте колі́нома, і́же в разсі́янії, ра́доватися.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are of the Dispersion, greeting.

Вся́ку ра́дость імі́йте, бра́тіє моя́, єгда́ во іскуше́нія впа́даете разли́чна,

Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations;

ві́дяще, я́ко іскуше́ніє ва́шея ві́ри соді́ловаєть терпі́ніє;

knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience.

терпі́ніє же ді́ло соверше́нно да і́мать, я́ко да бу́дете соверше́нні і всеці́лі, ні в че́мже лише́ні.

And let patience have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing.

А́ще же кто от вас лише́н єсть прему́дрости, да про́сить от даю́щаго Бо́га всім нелицеприє́мні і не поноша́ющаго, і да́сться єму́.

But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Да про́сить же ві́рою, нічто́же сумня́ся; сумня́йся бо уподо́бися волне́нію морсько́му, ві́три возмета́єму і развіва́єму.

But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

Да не мнить бо челові́к он, я́ко при́йметь что от Бо́га.

For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord;

Муж двоєду́шен неустро́єн во всіх путе́х свої́х.

a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Да хва́литься же брат смире́нний в висоті́ своє́й,

But let the brother of low degree glory in his high estate:

бога́тий же во смире́нії своє́м, зане́ я́коже цвіт тра́вний мимоі́деть;

and the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

возсія́ бо со́лнце со зно́єм, і ізсуши́ траву́, і цвіт єя́ отпаде́, і благолі́піє лиця́ єя́ поги́бе; си́це і бога́тий в хожде́нії своє́м ув'яда́єть.

For the sun ariseth with the scorching wind, and withereth the grass; and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his goings.

Блаже́н муж, і́же претерпи́ть іскуше́ніє; зане́ іску́сен бив, при́йметь віне́ць жи́зні, єго́же обіща́ Бог лю́б'ящим Єго́.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him.

Нікто́же іскуша́єм да глаго́леть, я́ко от Бо́га іскуша́єм єсьм; Бог бо ність іскуси́тель злим [іскуша́єм зли́ми], не іскуша́єть же Той нікого́же,

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:

ки́йждо же іскуша́ється, от своєя́ по́хоті влеко́м і прельща́єм;

but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.

Та́же по́хоть заче́нши ражда́єть гріх, гріх же соді́ян ражда́єть смерть.

Then the lust, when it hath conceived, beareth sin: and the sin, when it is full-grown, bringeth forth death.

Не льсті́теся, бра́тіє моя́ возлю́бленная;

Be not deceived, my beloved brethren.

вся́ко дая́ніє бла́го і всяк дар соверше́н сви́ше єсть, сходя́й от Отця́ сві́тов, у Него́же ність преміне́ніє, іли́ преложе́нія стінь.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, neither shadow that is cast by turning.

Восхоті́в бо породи́ нас сло́вом і́стини, во є́же би́ти нам нача́ток ні́кий созда́нієм Єго́.

Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

(Зач. 51) Ті́мже, бра́тіє моя́ возлю́бленная, да бу́деть всяк челові́к скор усли́шати (і) ко́сен глаго́лати, ко́сен во гнів,

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

гнів бо му́жа пра́вди Бо́жия не соді́ловаєть.

for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Сего́ ра́ди отло́жше вся́ку скве́рну і ізби́ток зло́би, в кро́тості приймі́те всажде́нноє сло́во, могу́щеє спасти́ ду́ші ва́ша.

Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

Бива́йте же творці́ сло́ва, а не то́чію сли́шателі, прельща́юще себе́ самі́х.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves.

Зане́ а́ще кто єсть сли́шатель сло́ва, а не творе́ць, такови́й уподо́бися му́жу смотря́ющу лице́ битія́ своєго́ в зерца́лі:

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror:

усмотри́ бо себе́ і оти́де, і а́біє заби́, како́в бі.

for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightaway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

Прини́кий же в зако́н соверше́н свобо́ди, і преби́в, сей не сли́шатель заби́тлив бив, но творе́ць ді́ла, сей блаже́н в ді́ланії своє́м бу́деть.

But he that looketh into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and so continueth, he being not a hearer that forgetteth but a doer that worketh, this man shall be blessed in his doing.

А́ще кто мни́ться ві́рен би́ти в вас, і не обуздова́єть язи́ка своєго́, но льстить се́рдце своє́, сего́ су́єтна (єсть) ві́ра.

If any man among you thinketh himself to be religious, while he bridleth not his tongue but deceiveth his heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Ві́ра бо чиста́ і нескве́рна пред Бо́гом і Отце́м сія́ єсть, є́же посіща́ти си́рих і вдови́ць в ско́рбіх їх, (і) нескве́рна себе́ блюсти́ от ми́ра.

Pure religion and undefiled before God, even the Father, is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

А́ще у́бо зако́н соверша́єте ца́рський, по Писа́нію: возлю́биши і́скренняго своєго́, я́коже себе́ сама́го, — до́брі творите́;

Howbeit if ye fulfill the royal law, according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well:

а́ще же на лиця́ зрите́, то гріх содіва́єте, облича́ємі от зако́на я́коже престу́пници.

but if ye have respect of persons, ye commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.

(Зач. 52) Бра́тіє моя́, не на лиця́ зря́ще імі́йте ві́ру Го́спода на́шего Ісу́са Христа́ сла́ви.

My brethren, hold not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

А́ще бо вни́деть в со́нмище ва́ше муж, злат пе́рстень нося́, в ри́зі сві́тлі, вни́деть же і нищ в ху́ді оді́жди,

For if there come into your synagogue a man with a gold ring, in fine clothing, and there come in also a poor man in vile clothing;

і воззрите́ на нося́щаго ри́зу сві́тлу, і рече́те єму́: ти ся́ди зді до́брі; і ни́щему рече́те: ти ста́ни та́мо, іли́ ся́ди зді на подно́жії моє́м, —

and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and ye say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool;

і не разсмотри́сте в себі́, і би́сте судії́ помишле́ній злих.

do ye not then make distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

Сли́шіте, бра́тіє моя́ возлю́бленная, не Бог ли ізбра́ ни́щия ми́ра сего́ бога́ти в ві́рі і наслі́дники Ца́рствія, є́же обіща́ лю́б'ящим Єго́?

Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?

ви же укори́сте ни́щаго. Не бога́тії ли наси́лують вам, і ті́ї влеку́ть ви на суди́ща?

But ye have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you, and themselves drag you before the judgment seats?

не ті́ї ли ху́лять до́броє і́м'я нарече́нноє на вас?

Do not they blaspheme the honorable name by which ye are called?

І́же бо весь зако́н соблюде́ть, согріши́ть же во єди́нім, бисть всім пови́нен.

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all.

Реки́й бо: не прелюби́ сотвори́ши, рекл єсть і: не убіє́ши, а́ще же не прелюби́ сотвори́ши, убіє́ши же, бил єси́ престу́пник зако́на.

For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou dost not commit adultery, but killest, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

Та́ко глаго́літе і та́ко творі́те, я́ко зако́ном свобо́дним іму́щії суд прия́ти.

So speak ye, and so do, as men that are to be judged by a law of liberty.

Суд бо без ми́лости не сотво́ршему ми́лости; і хва́литься ми́лость на суді́.

For judgment is without mercy to him that hath shown no mercy: mercy glorieth against judgment.

(Зач. 53) Ка́я по́льза, бра́тіє моя́, а́ще ві́ру глаго́леть кто імі́ти, діл же не і́мать? Єда́ мо́жеть ві́ра спасти́ єго́?

What doth it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but have not works? can that faith save him?

А́ще же брат іли́ сестра́ на́га бу́дета і лише́на бу́дета дневни́я пи́щі,

Now if a brother or sister be naked and be in lack of daily food,

рече́ть же ї́ма кто от вас: «Іді́та с ми́ром, грі́йтася і насища́йтася», — не дасть же ї́ма тре́бованія тіле́снаго, ка́я по́льза?

and one of you say unto them, Go in peace, be ye warmed and filled; and yet ye give them not the things needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Та́кожде і ві́ра, а́ще діл не і́мать, мертва́ єсть о себі́.

Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself.

Но рече́ть кто: ти ві́ру і́маши, аз же діла́ і́мам; покажи́ мі ві́ру твою́ от діл твої́х, і аз тебі́ покажу́ от діл мої́х ві́ру мою́.

Yea, a man will say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith by thy works, and I by my works will show thee my faith.

Ти ві́руєши, я́ко Бог єди́н єсть: до́брі твори́ши; і бі́си ві́рують, і трепе́щуть.

Thou believest that God is one; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and shudder.

Хо́щеши же ли разумі́ти, о, челові́че су́єтне, я́ко ві́ра без діл мертва́ єсть?

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith apart from works is dead?

Авраа́м оте́ць наш не от діл ли оправда́ся, возне́с Ісаа́ка, си́на своєго́ на же́ртвенник?

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, in that he offered up Isaac his son upon the altar?

Ви́диши ли, я́ко ві́ра поспі́шествоваше діло́м єго́, і от діл соверши́ся ві́ра?

Seest thou that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

І соверши́ся писа́ніє глаго́лющеє: ві́рова же Авраа́м Бо́гові, і вміни́ся єму́ в пра́вду, і друг Бо́жий наре́чеся.

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness; and he was called the friend of God.

Зрите́ ли у́бо, я́ко от діл оправда́ється челові́к, а не от ві́ри єди́ния?

Ye see then that by works a man is justified, and not only by faith.

Та́кожде же і Раа́в блудни́ця не от діл ли оправда́ся, приє́мши схо́дники і іни́м путе́м ізве́дши їх?

And in like manner was not also Rahab the harlot justified by works, in that she received the messengers, and sent them out another way?

Я́коже бо ті́ло без ду́ха мертво́ єсть, та́ко і ві́ра без діл мертва́ єсть.

For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead.

(Зач. 54) Не мно́зі учи́теліє бива́йте, бра́тіє моя́, ві́дяще, я́ко бо́льшеє осужде́ніє при́ймем,

Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.

мно́го бо согріша́єм всі. А́ще кто в сло́ві не согріша́єть, сей соверше́н муж, си́лен обузда́ти і все ті́ло.

For in many things we all stumble. If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.

Се [бо і] ко́нем узди́ во уста́ влага́єм, да повину́ються нам, і все ті́ло їх обраща́єм;

Behold, we put the horses’ bridles into their mouths that they may obey us; we turn about their whole body also.

се, і кораблі́ вели́ці су́ще і от же́стоких ві́тров заточа́ємі, обраща́ються ма́лим корми́льцем, а́може стремле́ніє пра́вящаго хо́щеть;

Behold, the ships also, though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, are yet turned about by a very small rudder, whithersoever the impulse of the steersman may will.

та́кожде же і язи́к мал уд єсть, і вельми́ хва́литься. Се, мал огнь, [і] коль вели́кі ве́щі сожига́єть.

So the tongue also is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how much wood a little fire kindleth!

І язи́к — огнь, лі́пота непра́вди; си́це і язи́к водворя́ється во у́діх на́ших, скверня́ все ті́ло, і паля́ ко́ло рожде́нія на́шего, і опаля́яся от геє́нни;

And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, which defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the wheel of nature, and is set on fire by hell.

вся́ко бо єстество́ звіре́й же і птиць, гад же і риб укроща́ється і укроти́ться єстество́м челові́ческим,

For every kind of beasts and birds, of creeping things and things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed by mankind:

язи́ка же нікто́же мо́жеть от челові́к укроти́ти, не удержи́мо [бо] зло, іспо́лнь я́да смертоно́сна.

but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, it is full of deadly poison.

Тім благословля́єм Бо́га і Отця́, і тім клене́м челові́ки би́вшия по подо́бію Бо́жию;

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, who are made after the likeness of God:

от ті́хже уст ісхо́дить благослове́ніє і кля́тва. Не подоба́єть, бра́тіє моя́ возлю́бленная, сим та́ко бива́ти.

out of the same mouth cometh forth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

(Зач. 50) Єда́ ли істо́чник от єди́наго у́стія істоча́єть сла́дкоє і го́ркоє?

Doth the fountain send forth from the same opening sweet water and bitter?

Єда́ мо́жеть, бра́тіє моя́, смоко́вниця ма́слини твори́ти, іли́ виногра́дная лоза́ смо́кви? Та́кожде ні єди́н істо́чник сла́ну і сла́дку твори́ть во́ду.

can a fig tree, my brethren, yield olives, or a vine figs? so can no fountain yield salt water and sweet.

Кто прему́др і худо́г в вас, да пока́жеть от до́браго житія́ діла́ своя́ в кро́тості і прему́дрості.

Who is wise and understanding among you? let him show by his good life his works in meekness of wisdom.

А́ще же за́висть го́рку і́мате і рве́ніє в сердця́х ва́ших, не хвалі́теся, ні лжі́те на і́стину;

But if ye have bitter jealousy and faction in your heart, glory not and lie not against the truth.

ність сія́ прему́дрость сви́ше низходя́щи, но зе́мна, душе́вна, бісо́вська,

This wisdom is not a wisdom that cometh down from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

іді́же бо за́висть і рве́ніє, ту нестроє́ніє і вся́ка зла вещ.

For where jealousy and faction are, there is confusion and every vile deed.

А я́же сви́ше прему́рость, пе́рвіє у́бо чиста́ єсть, пото́м же ми́рна, кротка́, благопокорли́ва, іспо́лнь ми́лости і плодо́в благи́х, несумі́нна і нелицемі́рна.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without variance, and without hypocrisy.

Плод же пра́вди в ми́рі сі́ється творя́щим мир.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for them that make peace.

Отку́ду бра́ні і сва́ри в вас? Не отсю́ду ли, от сласте́й ва́ших, вою́ющих во у́діх ва́ших?

Whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your pleasures that war in your members?

Жела́єте, і не і́мате; убива́єте і зави́дите, і не мо́жете улучи́ти; сваря́єтеся і бо́рете, і не і́мате, зане́ не про́сите;

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and covet, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war; ye have not, because ye ask not.

про́сите, і не приє́млете, зане́ злі про́сите, да в сласте́х ва́ших іждиве́те.

Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may spend it in your pleasures.

Прелюбоді́є і прелюбоді́йці, не ві́сте ли, я́ко люби́ ми́ра сего́ вражда́ Бо́гу єсть, і́же бо восхо́щеть друг би́ти ми́ру, враг Бо́жий бива́єть.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.

Іли́ мните́, я́ко всу́є Писа́ніє глаго́леть: к за́висті жела́єть дух, і́же всели́ся в ни?

Or think ye that the scripture speaketh in vain? The spirit which dwelt in us longeth unto envying.

Бо́льшую же дає́ть благода́ть; ті́мже глаго́леть: Госпо́дь го́рдим проти́виться, смире́нним же дає́ть благода́ть.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

(Зач. 56) Повині́теся у́бо Бо́гу, проти́вітеся же дия́волу, і біжи́ть от вас.

Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Прибли́жітеся Бо́гу, і прибли́житься вам; очи́стіте ру́ці, грі́шници, іспра́віте сердця́ ва́ша, двоєду́шнії;

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded.

постражді́те, і слезі́те, і пла́чітеся; сміх ваш в плач да обрати́ться, і ра́дость в сі́тованіє;

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

смирі́теся пред Го́сподем, і вознесе́ть ви.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall exalt you.

Не оклевета́йте друг дру́га, бра́тіє; оклевета́яй бо бра́та, іли́ осужда́яй бра́та своєго́, оклевета́єть зако́н і осужда́єть зако́н; а́ще же зако́н осужда́єши, ні́си творе́ць зако́на, но судія́.

Speak not one against another, brethren. He that speaketh against a brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh against the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judgest the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

Єди́н єсть Законополо́жник і Судія́, моги́й спасти́ і погуби́ти; ти же кто єси́ осужда́яй дру́га?

One only is the lawgiver, even he who is able to save and to destroy: but who art thou that judgest another?

Сли́шіте ни́ні, глаго́лющії: днесь іли́ у́трі по́йдем во он град, і сотвори́м ту лі́то єди́но, і ку́плю ді́єм і приобріте́ніє;

Come now, ye that say, Today and tomorrow let us go into this city, and spend one year there, and trade, and get gain:

і́же не ві́сте, что у́трі случи́ться; ка́я бо жизнь ва́ша, па́ра бо єсть, я́же вма́лі явля́ється, пото́м же ісчеза́єть.

whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? For it will be a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then also vanisheth away.

Вмі́сто є́же би глаго́лати вам: а́ще Госпо́дь восхо́щеть, і жи́ві бу́дем, і сотвори́м сіє́ іли́ о́но;

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, let us both live, and do this or that.

ни́ні же хва́литеся в горди́нех ва́ших; вся́ка хвала́ такова́ зла єсть.

But now ye glory in your vauntings: all such glorying is evil.

Ві́дущему у́бо добро́ твори́ти, і не творя́щему, гріх єму́ єсть.

To him therefore that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Прийді́те ни́ні, бога́тії, пла́чітеся і рида́йте о лю́тих ско́рбіх ва́ших гряду́щих на ви.

Come now, ye rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you.

Бога́тство ва́ше ізгни́, і ри́зи ва́ша мо́ліє поядо́ша.

Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten.

Зла́то ва́ше і сре́бро ізоржа́ві, і ржа їх в послу́шество на вас бу́деть, і сність пло́ті ва́ша а́ки огнь: єго́же сниска́сте в послі́днія дні.

Your gold and your silver are rusted; and their rust shall be for a testimony against you, and shall eat your flesh as fire. Ye have laid up your treasure in the last days.

Се, мзда ді́лателей ді́лавших ни́ви ва́ша, удержа́ная от вас, вопіє́ть, і вопіє́нія жа́вших во у́ші Го́спода Савао́фа внидо́ша.

Behold, the hire of the laborers who mowed your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth out: and the cries of them that reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

Возвесели́стеся на землі́, і наслади́стеся; упита́сте сердця́ ва́ша, а́ки в день заколе́нія.

Ye have lived delicately on the earth, and taken your pleasure; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Осуди́сте, уби́сте Пра́веднаго: не проти́виться вам.

Ye have condemned, ye have killed the righteous one; he doth not resist you.

Долготерпі́те у́бо, бра́тіє моя́, до прише́ствія Госпо́дня. Се земледі́лець ждеть честна́го плода́ от землі́, долготерп'я́ о нем, до́ндеже при́йметь дождь ран і по́зден;

Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receive the early and latter rain.

долготерпі́те у́бо і ви, утверді́те сердця́ ва́ша, я́ко прише́ствіє Госпо́днє прибли́жися.

Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Не воздиха́йте друг на дру́га, бра́тіє, да не осужде́ні бу́дете: се, Судія́ пред две́рми стої́ть.

Murmur not one against another, brethren, that ye be not judged: behold, the judge standeth before the doors.

(Зач. 57) О́браз приймі́те, бра́тіє моя́, злострада́нія і долготерпі́нія проро́ки, і́же глаго́лаша і́менем Госпо́днім.

Take, my brethren, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spake in the name of the Lord.

Се, блажи́м терп'я́щия. Терпі́ніє І́овле сли́шасте, і кончи́ну Госпо́дню ви́дісте, я́ко многоми́лостив єсть Госпо́дь і щедр.

Behold, we call them blessed that endure: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that he is full of pity, and merciful.

Пре́жде же всіх, бра́тіє моя́, не клені́теся ні не́бом, ні земле́ю, ні іно́ю ко́єю кля́твою: бу́ди же вам є́же «єй, єй», і є́же «ні, ні», да не в лицемі́ріє впаде́те.

But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by the heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath: but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not into hypocrisy.

Злостра́ждеть ли кто в вас? Да моли́тву ді́єть; благоду́шствуєть ли кто? Да поє́ть.

Is any among you suffering? let him pray. Is any cheerful? let him sing praise.

Боли́ть ли кто в вас, да призове́ть пресві́тери Церко́вния, і да моли́тву сотворя́ть над ним, пома́завше єго́ єле́єм во і́м'я Госпо́днє;

Is any among you sick? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

і моли́тва ві́ри спасе́ть боля́щаго, і воздви́гнеть єго́ Госпо́дь; і а́ще гріхи́ сотвори́л єсть, отпу́стяться єму́.

and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.

Іспові́дайте у́бо друг дру́гу согріше́нія і молі́теся друг за дру́га, я́ко да ісцілі́єте, мно́го бо мо́жеть моли́тва пра́веднаго поспішеству́єма.

Confess your trespasses one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

Ілія́ челові́к бі подобостра́стен нам, і моли́твою помоли́ся, да не бу́деть дождь, і не одожди́ по землі́ лі́та три і мі́сяць шесть;

Elijah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months.

і па́ки помоли́ся, і не́бо дождь даде́, і земля́ прозябе́ плод свой.

And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Бра́тіє, а́ще кто в вас заблу́дить от путі́ і́стини, і обрати́ть кто єго́,

Brethren, if any among you err from the truth, and one convert him;

да вість, я́ко обрати́вий грі́шника от заблужде́нія путі́ єго́ спасе́ть ду́шу от сме́рти і покри́єть мно́жество гріхо́в.

let him know, that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall cover a multitude of sins.
