(Заⷱ҇ ©ч҃в҃.) Ты̀ оу҆̀бо, ча́до моѐ, возмога́й во блгⷣти, ꙗ҆́же ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ,	Thou therefore, my child, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

и҆ ꙗ҆̀же слы́шалъ є҆сѝ ѿ менє̀ мно́гими свидѣ́тєли, сїѧ̑ преда́ждь вѣ̑рнымъ человѣ́кѡмъ, и҆̀же дово́лни бꙋ́дꙋтъ и҆ и҆ны́хъ наꙋчи́ти.	And the things which thou hast heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Ты̀ оу҆̀бо ѕлопостраждѝ ꙗ҆́кѡ до́бръ во́инъ і҆и҃съ хрⷭ҇то́въ.	Thou therefore suffer hardship, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

Никто́же (бо) во́инъ быва́ѧ ѡ҆бѧзꙋ́етсѧ кꙋ́плѧми жите́йскими, да воево́дѣ оу҆го́денъ бꙋ́детъ.	No soldier on service entangleth himself in the affairs of this life; that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier.

А҆́ще же и҆ постра́ждетъ [подвиза́етсѧ] кто̀, не вѣнча́етсѧ, а҆́ще не зако́ннѡ мꙋ́ченъ бꙋ́детъ [бꙋ́детъ подвиза́тисѧ].	And if also a man contend in the games, he is not crowned, except he have contended lawfully.

Трꙋжда́ющемꙋсѧ дѣ́лателю пре́жде подоба́етъ ѿ плода̀ вкꙋси́ти.	The husbandman that laboreth must be the first to partake of the fruits.
7	7
Разꙋмѣ́й, ꙗ҆̀же глаго́лю: да да́стъ оу҆̀бо тебѣ̀ гдⷭ҇ь ра́зꙋмъ ѡ҆ все́мъ.	Consider what I say; may the Lord indeed give thee understanding in all things.
8	8
Помина́й (гдⷭ҇а) і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀ воста́вшаго ѿ ме́ртвыхъ, ѿ сѣ́мене дв҃дова, по бл҃говѣствова́нїю моемꙋ̀,	Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel:
9	9
въ не́мже ѕлостраждꙋ̀ да́же до оу҆́зъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ѕлодѣ́й: но сло́во бж҃їе не вѧ́жетсѧ.	wherein I suffer hardship unto bonds, as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.
10	10
Сегѡ̀ ра́ди всѧ̑ терплю̀ и҆збра́нныхъ ра́ди, да и҆ ті́и спⷭ҇нїе оу҆лꙋча́тъ є҆́же ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ, со сла́вою вѣ́чною.	Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

(Заⷱ҇ ©ч҃г҃.) Вѣ́рно сло́во: а҆́ще бо съ ни́мъ оу҆мро́хомъ, то̀ съ ни́мъ и҆ ѡ҆живе́мъ:	Faithful is the saying: For if we died with him, we shall also live with him:

а҆́ще терпи́мъ, съ ни́мъ и҆ воцр҃и́мсѧ: а҆́ще ѿве́ржемсѧ, и҆ то́й ѿве́ржетсѧ на́съ:	if we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13	13
а҆́ще не вѣ́рꙋемъ, ѻ҆́нъ вѣ́ренъ пребыва́етъ: ѿрещи́сѧ бо себє̀ не мо́жетъ.	if we are faithless, he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
14	14
Сїѧ̑ воспомина́й, засвидѣ́телствꙋѧ пред̾ гдⷭ҇емъ, не словопрѣ́тисѧ, ни на кꙋ́юже потре́бꙋ, на разоре́нїе слы́шащихъ.	Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them in the sight of the Lord, that they strive not about words, to no profit, to the subverting of them that hear.
15	15
Потщи́сѧ себѐ и҆скꙋ́сна поста́вити пред̾ бг҃омъ, дѣ́лателѧ непосты́дна, пра́вѡ пра́вѧща сло́во и҆́стины.	Give diligence to present thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, handling aright the word of truth.

Скве́рныхъ же тщегла́сїй ѿмета́йсѧ: наипа́че бо преспѣ́ютъ въ нече́стїе,	But shun profane babblings: for they will proceed further in ungodliness,
17	17
и҆ сло́во и҆́хъ ꙗ҆́кѡ га́ггрена жи́ръ ѡ҆брѧ́щетъ: ѿ ни́хже є҆́сть ѵ҆мене́й и҆ фїли́тъ,	and their word will eat as doth a gangrene: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

и҆̀же ѡ҆ и҆́стинѣ погрѣши́ста, глагѡ́люща, ꙗ҆́кѡ воскрⷭ҇нїе оу҆жѐ бы́сть: и҆ возмꙋща́ютъ нѣ́которыхъ вѣ́рꙋ.	men who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already, and overthrow the faith of some.
19	19
Тве́рдое оу҆̀бо ѡ҆снова́нїе бж҃їе стои́тъ, и҆мꙋ́щее печа́ть сїю̀: позна̀ гдⷭ҇ь сꙋ́щыѧ своѧ̑, и҆: да ѿстꙋ́питъ ѿ непра́вды всѧ́къ и҆менꙋ́ѧй и҆́мѧ гдⷭ҇не.	Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, Let everyone that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.

(Заⷱ҇ ©ч҃д҃.) Въ вели́цѣмъ же домꙋ̀ не то́чїю сосꙋ́ди зла́ти и҆ сре́брѧни сꙋ́ть, но и҆ древѧ́ни и҆ гли́нѧни: и҆ ѻ҆́ви оу҆́бѡ въ че́сть, ѻ҆́ви же не въ че́сть.	Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some unto honor, and some unto dishonor.
21	21
А҆́ще оу҆̀бо кто̀ ѡ҆чи́ститъ себѐ ѿ си́хъ, бꙋ́детъ сосꙋ́дъ въ че́сть, ѡ҆сщ҃е́нъ и҆ бл҃гопотре́бенъ влⷣцѣ, на всѧ́кое дѣ́ло бл҃го́е оу҆гото́ванъ.	If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, prepared unto every good work.
22	22
По́хотей ю҆́ныхъ бѣ́гай, держи́сѧ же пра́вды, вѣ́ры, любвѐ, ми́ра со всѣ́ми призыва́ющими гдⷭ҇а ѿ чи́стагѡ се́рдца.	But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Бꙋ́ихъ же и҆ ненака́занныхъ стѧза́нїй ѿрица́йсѧ, вѣ́дый, ꙗ҆́кѡ ражда́ютъ сва̑ры:	But foolish and ignorant questionings refuse, knowing that they gender strifes.
24	24
рабꙋ́ же гдⷭ҇ню не подоба́етъ свари́тисѧ, но ти́хꙋ бы́ти ко всѣ̑мъ, оу҆чи́телнꙋ, неѕло́бивꙋ,	And the Lord’s servant must not strive, but be gentle toward all, apt to teach, forbearing,

съ кро́тостїю наказꙋ́ющꙋ проти̑вныѧ, є҆да̀ ка́кѡ да́стъ и҆̀мъ бг҃ъ покаѧ́нїе въ ра́зꙋмъ и҆́стины,	in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth,
26	26
и҆ возни́кнꙋтъ ѿ дїа́волскїѧ сѣ́ти, жи́ви оу҆ловле́ни ѿ негѡ̀ въ свою̀ є҆гѡ̀ во́лю.	and they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him unto his will.
