Гдⷭ҇ь же ѿѧ̀ со̀нъ ѿ царѧ̀ въ нощѝ ѻ҆́нѣй. И҆ повелѣ̀ рабꙋ̀ своемꙋ̀ принестѝ кни̑ги па̑мѧтныѧ дні́й прочита́ти є҆мꙋ̀:	But the Lord removed sleep from the king that night: and he told his servant to bring in the books, the registers of daily events, to read to him.

и҆ ѡ҆брѣ́те писа̑нїѧ напи̑саннаѧ ѡ҆ мардохе́и, ка́кѡ повѣ́да царю̀ ѡ҆ двою̀ є҆ѵнꙋ̑хꙋ ца̑рскꙋю, внегда̀ стрещѝ и҆́ма, и҆ оу҆мы́слиста оу҆би́ти (царѧ̀) а҆ртаѯе́рѯа.	And he found the records written concerning Mardochæus, how he had told the king concerning the two chamberlains of the king, when they were keeping guard, and sought to lay hands on Artaxerxes.

И҆ речѐ ца́рь: кꙋ́ю сла́вꙋ и҆лѝ благода́ть сотвори́хомъ мардохе́ю; И҆ реко́ша ѻ҆́троцы царє́вы: ничто́же сотвори́лъ є҆сѝ є҆мꙋ̀;	And the king said, What honour or favour have we done to Mardochæus? And the king's servants said, Thou hast not done anything to him.

Вопроша́ющꙋ же царю̀ ѡ҆ благодѣѧ́нїи мардохе́овѣ, сѐ, а҆ма́нъ прїи́де во дво́ръ, и҆ речѐ ца́рь: кто̀ є҆́сть во дворѣ̀; А҆ма́нъ же прїи́де рещѝ царе́ви, да повѣ́ситъ мардохе́а на дре́вѣ, є҆́же оу҆гото́ва.	And while the king was enquiring about the kindness of Mardochæus, behold, Aman was in the court. And the king said, Who is in the court? Now Aman was come in to speak to the king, that he should hang Mardochæus on the gallows, which he had prepared.

И҆ реко́ша ѻ҆́троцы царє́вы: сѐ, а҆ма́нъ стои́тъ во дворѣ̀. И҆ речѐ ца́рь: призови́те є҆го̀.	And the king's servants said, Behold, Aman stands in the court. And the king said, Call him.

И҆ речѐ ца́рь а҆ма́нꙋ: что̀ сотворю̀ мꙋ́жꙋ, є҆го́же а҆́зъ хощꙋ̀ просла́вити; рече́ же въ себѣ̀ а҆ма́нъ: кого̀ хо́щетъ ца́рь просла́вити, ра́звѣ менє̀;	And the king said to Aman, What shall I do to the man whom I wish to honour? And Aman said within himself, Whom would the king honour but myself?

Рече́ же царю̀: мꙋ́жа, є҆го́же хо́щетъ ца́рь просла́вити,	and he said to the king, As for the man whom the king wishes to honour,

да принесꙋ́тъ ѻ҆́троцы царє́вы ѻ҆де́ждꙋ вѷссо́ннꙋю, є҆́юже ца́рь ѡ҆блача́етсѧ, и҆ конѧ̀, на не́мже ца́рь ѣ҆́здитъ,	let the king's servants bring the robe of fine linen which the king puts on, and the horse on which the king rides,

и҆ да да́стсѧ є҆ди́номꙋ ѿ дрꙋгѡ́въ царе́выхъ сла́вныхъ, и҆ да ѡ҆блече́тъ мꙋ́жа, є҆го́же ца́рь лю́битъ, и҆ да поса́дитъ є҆го̀ на конѧ̀ и҆ проповѣ́сть на оу҆́лицахъ гра́да, глаго́лѧ: та́кѡ бꙋ́детъ всѧ́комꙋ человѣ́кꙋ, є҆го́же ца́рь просла́витъ.	and let him give it to one of the king's noble friends, and let him array the man whom the king loves; and let him mount him on the horse, and proclaim through the street of the city, saying, Thus shall it be done to every man whom the king honours.

И҆ речѐ ца́рь а҆ма́нꙋ: до́брѣ ре́клъ є҆сѝ: та́кѡ сотворѝ мардохе́ю і҆ꙋде́анинꙋ, оу҆го́днѡ слꙋжа́щемꙋ во дворѣ̀ (на́шемъ), и҆ да не и҆змѣни́тсѧ сло́во твоѐ ѿ си́хъ, ꙗ҆̀же ре́клъ є҆сѝ.	Then the king said to Aman, Thou hast well said: so do to Mardochæus the Jew, who waits in the palace, and let not a word of what thou hast spoken be neglected.

И҆ взѧ̀ а҆ма́нъ ѻ҆де́ждꙋ и҆ конѧ̀, и҆ ѡ҆блечѐ мардохе́а, и҆ возведѐ є҆го̀ на коиѧ̀, и҆ про́йде по оу҆́лицамъ гра́да, и҆ проповѣ́даше (пред̾ ни́мъ), глаго́лѧ: си́це бꙋ́детъ всѧ́комꙋ человѣ́кꙋ, є҆го́же хо́щетъ ца́р просла́вити.	So Aman took the robe and the horse, and arrayed Mardochæus, and mounted him on the horse, and went through the street of the city, and proclaimed, saying, Thus shall it be to every man whom the king wishes to honour.

И҆ возврати́сѧ мардохе́и во дво́ръ (царе́въ): а҆ма́нъ же и҆́де въ до́мъ сво́й скорбѧ̀ преклони́въ главꙋ̀.	And Mardochæus returned to the palace: but Aman went home mourning, and having his head covered.

И҆ сказа̀ а҆ма́нъ слꙋчи̑вшаѧсѧ є҆мꙋ̀ зѡса́рѣ женѣ̀ свое́й и҆ дрꙋгѡ́мъ свои̑мъ. И҆ рѣ́ша є҆мꙋ̀ дрꙋ́зїе є҆гѡ̀ и҆ жена̀: а҆́ще ѿ пле́мене і҆ꙋдейскагѡ мардохе́й, на́чалъ є҆сѝ смирѧ́тисѧ пред̾ ни́мъ, па́даѧ паде́ши, и҆ не возмо́жеши є҆мꙋ̀ ѿмсти́ти, ꙗ҆́кѡ бг҃ъ живы́й є҆́сть съ ни́мъ.	And Aman related the events that had befallen him to Zosara his wife, and to his friends: and his friends and his wife said to him, If Mardochæus be of the race of the Jews, and thou hast begun to be humbled before him, thou wilt assuredly fall, and thou wilt not be able to withstand him, for the living God is with him.

И҆ є҆щѐ глаго́лющымъ и҆̀мъ, прїидо́ша є҆ѵнꙋ́си, спѣ́шнѡ зовꙋ́ще а҆ма́на на пи́ръ, є҆го́же оу҆гото́ва є҆сѳи́рь.	While they were yet speaking, the chamberlains arrived, to hasten Aman to the banquet which Esther had prepared.
