ΛΟΓΟΣ Κυρίου, ὃς ἐγενήθη πρὸς ᾿Ιωὴλ τὸν τοῦ Βαθουήλ.	The word of the Lord which came to Joel the son of Bathuel.
2	2
᾿Ακούσατε ταῦτα, οἱ πρεσβύτεροι, καὶ ἐνωτίσασθε, πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν. εἰ γέγονε τοιαῦτα ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ὑμῶν ἢ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν;	Hear these words, ye elders, and hearken all ye that inhabit the land. Have such things happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?

ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν διηγήσασθε, καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν τοῖς τέκνοις αὐτῶν, καὶ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν εἰς γενεὰν ἑτέραν.	Tell your children concerning them, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς κάμπης κατέφαγεν ἡ ἀκρίς, καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς ἀκρίδος κατέφαγεν ὁ βροῦχος, καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τοῦ βρούχου κατέφαγεν ἡ ἐρυσίβη.	The leavings of the caterpillar has the locust eaten, and the leavings of the locust has the palmerworm eaten, and the leavings of the palmerworm has the cankerworm eaten.

ἐκνήψατε, οἱ μεθύοντες, ἐξ οἴνου αὐτῶν καὶ κλαύσατε· θρηνήσατε, πάντες οἱ πίνοντες οἶνον εἰς μέθην, ὅτι ἐξῄρθη ἐκ στόματος ὑμῶν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά.	Awake, ye drunkards, from your wine, and weep: mourn, all ye that drink wine to drunkenness: for joy and gladness are removed from your mouth.

ὅτι ἔθνος ἀνέβη ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μου ἰσχυρὸν καὶ ἀναρίθμητον, οἱ ὀδόντες αὐτοῦ, ὀδόντες λέοντος, καὶ αἱ μύλαι αὐτοῦ σκύμνου.	For a strong and innumerable nation is come up against my land, their teeth are lion's teeth, and their back teeth those of a lion's whelp.

ἔθετο τὴν ἄμπελόν μου εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ τὰς συκᾶς μου εἰς συγκλασμόν· ἐρευνῶν ἐξηρεύνησεν αὐτὴν καὶ ἔρριψεν, ἐλεύκανε τὰ κλήματα αὐτῆς.	He has ruined my vine, and utterly broken my fig-trees: he has utterly searched my vine, and cast it down; he has peeled its branches.
8	8
θρήνησον πρός με ὑπὲρ νύμφην περιεζωσμένην σάκκον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς τὸν παρθενικόν.	Lament to me more than a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9	9
ἐξῇρται θυσία καὶ σπονδὴ ἐξ οἴκου Κυρίου. πενθεῖτε, οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ λειτουργοῦντες θυσιαστηρίῳ Κυρίου,	The meat-offering and drink-offering are removed from the house of the Lord: mourn, ye priests that serve at the altar of the Lord.
10	10
ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκε τὰ πεδία· πενθείτω ἡ γῆ, ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκε σῖτος, ἐξηράνθη οἶνος, ὠλιγώθη ἔλαιον.	For the plains languish: let the land mourn, for the corn languishes; the wine is dried up, the oil becomes scarce;

ἐξηράνθησαν γεωργοί· θρηνεῖτε, κτήματα, ὑπὲρ πυροῦ καὶ κριθῆς, ὅτι ἀπόλωλε τρυγητὸς ἐξ ἀγροῦ·	the husbandmen are consumed: mourn your property on account of the wheat and barley; for the harvest has perished from off the field.

ἡ ἄμπελος ἐξηράνθη, καὶ αἱ συκαῖ ὠλιγώθησαν· ρόα καὶ φοῖνιξ καὶ μῆλον καί πάντα τὰ ξύλα τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐξηράνθησαν, ὅτι ᾔσχυναν χαρὰν οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.	The vine is dried up, and the fig-trees are become few; the pomegranate, and palm-tree, and apple, and all the trees of the field are dried up: for the sons of men have abolished joy.

περιζώσασθε καὶ κόπτεσθε, οἱ ἱερεῖς, θρηνεῖτε οἱ λειτουργοῦντες θυσιαστηρίῳ· εἰσέλθετε ὑπνώσατε ἐν σάκκοις λειτουργοῦντες Θεῷ, ὅτι ἀπέσχηκεν ἐξ οἴκου Θεοῦ ὑμῶν θυσία καὶ σπονδή.	Gird yourselves with sackcloth, and lament, ye priests: mourn, ye that serve at the altar: go in, sleep in sackcloths, ye that minister to God: for the meat-offering and drink-offering are withheld from the house of your God.

ἁγιάσατε νηστείαν, κηρύξατε θεραπείαν, συναγάγετε πρεσβυτέρους πάντας κατοικοῦντας γῆν εἰς οἶκον Θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ κεκράξετε πρὸς Κύριον ἐκτενῶς·	Sanctify a fast, proclaim a solemn service, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of your God, and cry earnestly to the Lord,
15	15
οἴμοι, οἴμοι, οἴμοι εἰς ἡμέραν, ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἡ ἡμέρα Κυρίου καὶ ὡς ταλαιπωρία ἐκ ταλαιπωρίας ἥξει.	Alas, alas, alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is nigh, and it will come as trouble upon trouble.
16	16
κατέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν ὑμῶν βρώματα ἐξωλοθρεύθη, ἐξ οἴκου Θεοῦ ὑμῶν εὐφροσύνη καὶ χαρά.	Your meat has been destroyed before your eyes, joy and gladness from out of the house of your God.
17	17
ἐσκίρτησαν δαμάλεις ἐπὶ ταῖς φάτναις αὐτῶν, ἠφανίσθησαν θησαυροί, κατεσκάφησαν ληνοί, ὅτι ἐξηράνθη σῖτος.	The heifers have started at their mangers, the treasures are abolished, the wine-presses are broken down; for the corn is withered.

τί ἀποθήσομεν ἑαυτοῖς; ἔκλαυσαν βουκόλια βοῶν, ὅτι οὐχ ὑπῆρχε νομὴ αὐτοῖς, καὶ τὰ ποίμνια τῶν προβάτων ἠφανίσθησαν.	What shall we store up for ourselves? the herds of cattle have mourned, because they had no pasture; and the flocks of sheep have been utterly destroyed.
19	19
πρὸς σέ, Κύριε, βοήσομαι, ὅτι πῦρ ἀνήλωσε τὰ ὡραῖα τῆς ἐρήμου, καὶ φλὸξ ἀνῆψε πάντα τὰ ξύλα τοῦ ἀγροῦ·	To thee, O Lord, will I cry: for fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness, and a flame has burnt up all the trees of the field.
20	20
καὶ τὰ κτήνη τοῦ πεδίου ἀνέβλεψαν πρὸς σέ, ὅτι ἐξηράνθησαν ἀφέσεις ὑδάτων καὶ πῦρ κατέφαγε τὰ ὡραῖα τῆς ἐρήμου.	And the cattle of the field have looked up to thee: for the fountains of waters have been dried up, and fire has devoured the fair places of the wilderness.
Κεφάλαιο 2	Chapter 2

1	1
ΣΑΛΠΙΣΑΤΕ σάλπιγγι ἐν Σιών, κηρύξατε ἐν ὄρει ἁγίῳ μου, καὶ συγχυθήτωσαν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες τὴν γῆν, διότι πάρεστιν ἡμέρα Κυρίου, ὅτι ἐγγύς,	Sound the trumpet in Sion, make a proclamation in my holy mountain, and let all the inhabitants of the land be confounded: for the day of the Lord is near;
2	2
ἡμέρα σκότους καὶ γνόφου, ἡμέρα νεφέλης καὶ ὁμίχλης. ὡς ὄρθρος χυθήσεται ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη λαὸς πολὺς καὶ ἰσχυρός· ὅμοιος αὐτῷ οὐ γέγονεν ἀπὸ τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ μετ᾿ αὐτὸν οὐ προστεθήσεται ἕως ἐτῶν εἰς γενεὰς γενεῶν.	for a day of darkness and gloominess is near, a day of cloud and mist: a numerous and strong people shall be spread upon the mountains as the morning; there has not been from the beginning one like it, and after it there shall not be again even to the years of many generations.

τὰ ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ πῦρ ἀναλίσκον, καὶ τὰ ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ ἀναπτομένη φλόξ· ὡς παράδεισος τρυφῆς ἡ γῆ πρὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὰ ὄπισθεν αὐτοῦ πεδίον ἀφανισμοῦ, καὶ ἀνασῳζόμενος οὐκ ἔσται αὐτῷ.	Before them is a consuming fire, and behind them is a flame kindled: the land before them is as a paradise of delight, and behind them a desolate plain: and there shall none of them escape.

ὡς ὅρασις ἵππων ἡ ὄψις αὐτῶν, καὶ ὡς ἱππεῖς οὕτως καταδιώξονται·	Their appearance is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they pursue.
5	5
ὡς φωνὴ ἁρμάτων ἐπὶ τὰς κορυφὰς τῶν ὀρέων ἐξαλοῦνται καὶ ὡς φωνὴ φλογὸς πυρὸς κατεσθιούσης καλάμην καὶ ὡς λαὸς πολὺς καὶ ἰσχυρὸς παρατασσόμενος εἰς πόλεμον.	As the sound of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, and as the sound of a flame of fire devouring stubble, and as a numerous and strong people setting themselves in array for battle.

ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ συντριβήσονται λαοί, πᾶν πρόσωπον ὡς πρόσκαυμα χύτρας.	Before them shall the people be crushed: every face shall be as the blackness of a caldron.
7	7
ὡς μαχηταὶ δραμοῦνται καὶ ὡς ἄνδρες πολεμισταί ἀναβήσονται ἐπὶ τὰ τείχη, καὶ ἕκαστος ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ αὐτοῦ πορεύσεται, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκκλίνουσι τὰς τρίβους αὐτῶν,	As warriors shall they run, and as men of war shall they mount on the walls; and each shall move in his right path, and they shall not turn aside from their tracks:
8	8
καὶ ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἀφέξεται, καταβαρυνόμενοι ἐν τοῖς ὅπλοις αὐτῶν πορεύσονται καὶ ἐν τοῖς βέλεσιν αὐτῶν πεσοῦνται καὶ οὐ μὴ συντελεσθῶσι.	and not one shall stand aloof from his brother: they shall go on weighed down with their arms, and they fall upon their weapons, yet shall they in no wise be destroyed.
9	9
τῆς πόλεως ἐπιλήψονται καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν τειχέων δραμοῦνται καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς οἰκίας ἀναβήσονται καὶ διὰ θυρίδων εἰσελεύσονται ὡς κλέπται.	They shall seize upon the city, and run upon the walls, and go up upon the houses, and enter in through the windows as thieves.
10	10
πρὸ προσώπου αὐτῶν συγχυθήσεται ἡ γῆ καὶ σεισθήσεται ὁ οὐρανός, ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη συσκοτάσουσι, καὶ τὰ ἄστρα δύσουσι τὸ φέγγος αὐτῶν.	Before them the earth shall be confounded, and the sky shall be shaken: the sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their light.
11	11
καὶ Κύριος δώσει φωνὴν αὐτοῦ πρὸ προσώπου δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ, ὅτι πολλή ἐστι σφόδρα ἡ παρεμβολὴ αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἰσχυρὰ ἔργα λόγων αὐτοῦ· διότι μεγάλη ἡ ἡμέρα Κυρίου, ἐπιφανὴς σφόδρα, καὶ τίς ἔσται ἱκανὸς αὐτῇ;	And the Lord shall utter his voice before his host: for his camp is very great: for the execution of his words is mighty: for the day of the Lord is great, very glorious, and who shall be able to resist it?
12	12
καὶ νῦν λέγει Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν· ἐπιστράφητε πρός με ἐξ ὅλης τῆς καρδίας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐν νηστείᾳ καὶ ἐν κλαυθμῷ καὶ ἐν κοπετῷ·	Now therefore, saith the Lord your God, turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with lamentation:
13	13
καὶ διαρρήξατε τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν καὶ μὴ τὰ ἱμάτια ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπιστράφητε πρὸς Κύριον τὸν Θεὸν ὑμῶν, ὅτι ἐλεήμων καὶ οἰκτίρμων ἐστί, μακρόθυμος καὶ πολυέλεος καὶ μετανοῶν ἐπὶ ταῖς κακίαις.	and rend your hearts, and not your garments, and turn to the Lord your God: for he is merciful and compassionate, long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy, and repents of evils.
14	14
τίς οἶδεν εἰ ἐπιστρέψει καὶ μετανοήσει καὶ ὑπολείψεται ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ εὐλογίαν καὶ θυσίαν καὶ σπονδὴν Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν;	Who knows if he will return, and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meat-offering and a drink-offering to the Lord your God?
15	15
σαλπίσατε σάλπιγγι ἐν Σιών, ἁγιάσατε νηστείαν, κηρύξατε θεραπείαν,	Sound the trumpet in Sion, sanctify a fast, proclaim a solemn service:
16	16
συναγάγετε λαόν, ἁγιάσατε ἐκκλησίαν, ἐκλέξασθε πρεσβυτέρους, συναγάγετε νήπια θηλάζοντα μαστούς, ἐξελθέτω νυμφίος ἐκ τοῦ κοιτῶνος αὐτοῦ καὶ νύμφη ἐκ τοῦ παστοῦ αὐτῆς.	gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the infants at the breast: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17	17
ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς κρηπῖδος τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου κλαύσονται οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ λειτουργοῦντες τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐροῦσι· φεῖσαι, Κύριε, τοῦ λαοῦ σου καὶ μὴ δῷς τὴν κληρονομίαν σου εἰς ὄνειδος τοῦ κατάρξαι αὐτῶν ἔθνη, ὅπως μὴ εἴπωσιν ἐν τοῖ ἔθνεσι· ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ Θεὸς αὐτῶν; —	Between the porch and the altar let the priests that minister to the Lord weep, and say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them, lest they should say among the heathen, Where is their God?

Καὶ ἐζήλωσε Κύριος τὴν γῆν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐφείσατο τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.	But the Lord was jealous of his land, and spared his people.
19	19
καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Κύριος καὶ εἶπε τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξαποστέλλω ὑμῖν τὸν σῖτον καὶ τὸν οἶνον καὶ τὸ ἔλαιον, καὶ ἐμπλησθήσεσθε αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐ δώσω ὑμᾶς οὐκέτι εἰς ὀνειδισμὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι·	And the Lord answered and said to his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied with them: and I will no longer make you a reproach among the Gentiles.
20	20
καὶ τὸν ἀπὸ Βορρᾶ ἐκδιώξω ἀφ᾿ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξώσω αὐτὸν εἰς γῆν ἄνυδρον καὶ ἀφανιῶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν πρώτην καὶ τὰ ὀπίσω αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν ἐσχάτην, καὶ ἀναβήσεται ἡ σαπρία αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὁ βρόμος αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἐμεγάλυνε τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ.	And I will chase away from you the northern adversary, and will drive him away into a dry land, and I will sink his face in the former sea, and his back parts in the latter sea, and his ill savour shall come up, and his stink shall come up, because he has wrought great things.
21	21
θάρσει, γῆ, χαῖρε καὶ εὐφραίνου, ὅτι ἐμεγάλυνε Κύριος τοῦ ποιῆσαι.	Be of good courage, O land; rejoice and be glad: for the Lord has done great things.
22	22
θαρσεῖτε, κτήνη τοῦ πεδίου, ὅτι βεβλάστηκε τὰ πεδία τῆς ἐρήμου, ὅτι ξύλον ἤνεγκε τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ, συκῆ καὶ ἄμπελος ἔδωκαν τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῶν.	Be of good courage, ye beasts of the plain, for the plains of the wilderness have budded, for the trees have borne their fruit, the fig-tree and the vine have yielded their strength.
23	23
καὶ τὰ τέκνα Σιών, χαίρετε καὶ εὐφραίνεσθε ἐπὶ τῷ Κυρίῳ Θεῷ ὑμῶν, διότι ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὰ βρώματα εἰς δικαιοσύνην καὶ βρέξει ὑμῖν ὑετὸν πρώϊμον καὶ ὄψιμον καθὼς ἔμπροσθεν.	Rejoice then and be glad, ye children of Sion, in the Lord your God: for he has given you food fully, and he will rain on you the early and the latter rain, as before.
24	24
καὶ πλησθήσονται αἱ ἅλωνες σίτου, καὶ ὑπερεκχυθήσονται αἱ ληνοὶ οἴνου καὶ ἐλαίου.	And the floors shall be filled with corn, and the presses shall overflow with wine and oil.
25	25
καὶ ἀνταποδώσω ὑμῖν ἀντὶ τῶν ἐτῶν ὧν κατέφαγεν ἡ ἀκρὶς καὶ ὁ βροῦχος καὶ ἡ ἐρυσίβη καὶ ἡ κάμπη, ἡ δύναμίς μου ἡ μεγάλη, ἣν ἐξαπέστειλα εἰς ὑμᾶς.	And I will recompense you for the years which the locust, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, and the cankerworm have eaten, even my great army, which I sent against you.
26	26
καὶ φάγεσθε ἐσθίοντες καὶ ἐμπλησθήσεσθε καὶ αἰνέσετε τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν, ἃ ἐποίησε μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰς θαυμάσια, καὶ οὐ μὴ καταισχυνθῇ ὁ λαός μου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα·	And ye shall eat abundantly, and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of the Lord your God for the things which he has wrought wonderfully with you: and my people shall not be ashamed for ever.
27	27
καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ ᾿Ισραὴλ ἐγώ εἰμι, καὶ ἐγὼ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι πλὴν ἐμοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ καταισχυνθῶσιν ἔτι ὁ λαός μου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.	And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and that there is none else beside me; and my people shall no more be ashamed for ever.
Κεφάλαιο 3	Chapter 3

1	1
ΚΑΙ ἔσται μετὰ ταῦτα καὶ ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ πνεύματός μου ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα, καὶ προφητεύσουσιν οἱ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες ὑμῶν, καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ὑμῶν ἐνύπνια ἐνυπνιασθήσονται, καὶ οἱ νεανίσκοι ὑμῶν ὁράσεις ὄψονται·	And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς δούλους μου καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς δούλας μου ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις ἐκχεῶ ἀπὸ τοῦ πνεύματός μου.	And on my servants and on my handmaids in those days will I pour out of my Spirit.

καὶ δώσω τέρατα ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, αἷμα καὶ πῦρ καὶ ἀτμίδα καπνοῦ·	And I will shew wonders in heaven, and upon the earth, blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.

ὁ ἥλιος μεταστραφήσεται εἰς σκότος καὶ ἡ σελήνη εἰς αἷμα πρὶν ἐλθεῖν τὴν ἡμέραν Κυρίου τὴν μεγάλην καὶ ἐπιφανῆ.	The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord come.

καὶ ἔσται, πᾶς, ὃς ἂν ἐπικαλέσηται τὸ ὄνομα Κυρίου, σωθήσεται· ὅτι ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σιὼν καὶ ἐν ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ ἔσται ἀνασῳζόμενος, καθότι εἶπε Κύριος, καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι, οὓς Κύριος προσκέκληται.	And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved: for in mount Sion and in Jerusalem shall the saved one be as the Lord has said, and they that have glad tidings preached to them, whom the Lord has called.
Κεφάλαιο 4	Chapter 4

ΟΤΙ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, ὅταν ἐπιστρέψω τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν ᾿Ιούδα καὶ ῾Ιερουσαλήμ,	For, behold, in those days and at that time, when I shall have turned the captivity of Juda and Jerusalem,

καὶ συνάξω πάντα τὰ ἔθνη καὶ κατάξω αὐτὰ εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα ᾿Ιωσαφὰτ καὶ διακριθήσομαι πρὸς αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ ὑπὲρ τοῦ λαοῦ μου καὶ τῆς κληρονομίας μου ᾿Ισραήλ, οἳ διεσπάρησαν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι· καὶ τὴν γῆν μου καταδιείλαντο	I will also gather all the Gentiles, and bring them down to the valley of Josaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and my heritage Israel, who have been dispersed among the Gentiles; and these Gentiles have divided my land,

καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου ἔβαλον κλήρους καὶ ἔδωκαν τὰ παιδάρια πόρναις καὶ τὰ κοράσια ἐπώλουν ἀντὶ τοῦ οἴνου καὶ ἔπινον.	and cast lots over my people, and have given their boys to harlots, and sold their girls for wine, and have drunk.
4	4
καὶ τί ὑμεῖς ἐμοί, Τύρος καὶ Σιδὼν καὶ πᾶσα Γαλιλαία ἀλλοφύλων; μὴ ἀνταπόδομα ὑμεῖς ἀνταποδίδοτέ μοι; ἢ μνησικακεῖτε ὑμεῖς ἐπ᾿ ἐμοὶ ὀξέως; καὶ ταχέως ἀνταποδώσω τὸ ἀνταπόδομα ὑμῶν εἰς κεφαλὰς ὑμῶν,	And what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Sidon, and all Galilee of the Gentiles? do ye render me a recompense? or do ye bear malice against me? quickly and speedily will I return your recompense on your own heads:

ἀνθ᾿ ὧν τὸ ἀργύριόν μου καὶ τὸ χρυσίον μου ἐλάβετε καὶ τὰ ἐπίλεκτά μου τὰ καλὰ εἰσηνέγκατε εἰς τοὺς ναοὺς ὑμῶν	because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and ye have brought my choice ornaments into your temples;
6	6
καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς ᾿Ιούδα καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ ἀπέδοσε τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ῾Ελλήνων, ὅπως ἐξώσητε αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων αὐτῶν.	and ye have sold the children of Juda and the children of Jerusalem to the children of the Greeks, that ye might expel them from their coasts.
7	7
καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ τόπου, οὗ ἀπέδοσθε αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἀνταποδώσω τὸ ἀνταπόδομα ὑμῶν εἰς κεφαλὰς ὑμῶν	Therefore, behold, I will raise them up out of the place whither ye have sold them, and I will return your recompense on your own heads.
8	8
καὶ ἀποδώσομαι τοὺς υἱοὺς ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας ὑμῶν εἰς χεῖρας τῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ιούδα, καὶ ἀποδώσονται αὐτοὺς εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν εἰς ἔθνος μακρὰν ἀπέχον, ὅτι Κύριος ἐλάλησε. —	And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Juda, and they shall sell them into captivity to a far distant nation: for the Lord has spoken it.
9	9
Κηρύξατε ταῦτα ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, ἁγιάσατε πόλεμον, ἐξεγείρατε τούς μαχητάς, προσαγάγετε καὶ ἀναβαίνετε, πάντες ἄνδρες πολεμισταί.	Proclaim these things among the Gentiles; declare war, arouse the warriors, draw near and go up, all ye men of war.
10	10
συγκόψατε τὰ ἄροτρα ὑμῶν εἰς ρομφαίας καὶ τὰ δρέπανα ὑμῶν εἰς σειρομάστας· ὁ ἀδύνατος λεγέτω ὅτι ἰσχύω ἐγώ.	Beat your ploughshares into swords, and your sickles into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.
11	11
συναθροίζεσθε καὶ εἰσπορεύεσθε, πάντα τὰ ἔθνη κυκλόθεν, καὶ συνάχθητε ἐκεῖ· ὁ πρᾳΰς ἔστω μαχητής.	Gather yourselves together, and go in, all ye nations round about, and gather yourselves there: let the timid become a warrior.
12	12
ἐξεγειρέσθωσαν καὶ ἀναβαινέτωσαν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα ᾿Ιωσαφάτ, διότι ἐκεῖ καθιῶ τοῦ διακρῖναι πάντα τὰ ἔθνη κυκλόθεν.	Let them be aroused, let all the nations go up to the valley of Josaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the Gentiles round about.
13	13
ἐξαποστείλατε δρέπανα, ὅτι παρέστηκεν ὁ τρυγητός· εἰσπορεύεσθε, πατεῖτε, διότι πλήρης ἡ ληνός· ὑπερεκχεῖτε τὰ ὑπολήνια, ὅτι πεπλήθυνται τὰ κακὰ αὐτῶν.	Bring forth the sickles, for the vintage is come: go in, tread the grapes, for the press is full: cause the vats to overflow; for their wickedness is multiplied.
14	14
ἦχοι ἐξήχησαν ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῆς δίκης, ὅτι ἐγγὺς ἡμέρα Κυρίου ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῆς δίκης.	Noises have resounded in the valley of judgment: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of judgment.
15	15
ὁ ἥλιος καὶ ἡ σελήνη συσκοτάσουσι, καὶ οἱ ἀστέρες δύσουσι φέγγος αὐτῶν.	The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their light.
16	16
ὁ δὲ Κύριος ἐκ Σιὼν ἀνακεκράξεται καὶ ἐξ ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ δώσει φωνὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ σεισθήσεται ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ· ὁ δὲ Κύριος φείσεται τοῦ λαοῦ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐνισχύσει τοὺς υἱοὺς ᾿Ισραήλ.	And the Lord shall cry out of Sion, and shall utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heaven and the earth shall be shaken, but the Lord shall spare his people, and shall strengthen the children of Israel.
17	17
καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε, διότι ἐγὼ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν ὁ κατασκηνῶν ἐν Σιὼν ὄρει ἁγίῳ μου· καὶ ἔσται ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ ἁγία, καὶ ἀλλογενεῖς οὐ διελεύσονται δι᾿ αὐτῆς οὐκέτι.	And ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwell in Sion my holy mountain: and Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall not pass through her any more.
18	18
καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἀποσταλάξει τὰ ὄρη γλυκασμόν, καὶ οἱ βουνοὶ ρυήσονται γάλα, καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ ἀφέσεις ᾿Ιούδα ρυήσονται ὕδατα, καὶ πηγὴ ἐξ οἴκου Κυρίου ἐξελεύσεται καὶ ποτιεῖ τὸν χειμάρρουν τῶν σχοίνων.	And it shall come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the fountains of Juda shall flow with water, and a fountain shall go forth of the house of the Lord, and water the valley of flags.
19	19
Αἴγυπτος εἰς ἀφανισμὸν ἔσται, καὶ ἡ ᾿Ιδουμαία εἰς πεδίον ἀφανισμοῦ ἔσται ἐξ ἀδικιῶν υἱῶν ᾿Ιούδα, ἀνθ᾿ ὧν ἐξέχεαν αἷμα δίκαιον ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν.	Egypt shall be a desolation, and Idumea shall be a desolate plain, because of the wrongs of the children of Juda, because they have shed righteous blood in their land.
20	20
ἡ δὲ ᾿Ιουδαία εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κατοικηθήσεται καὶ ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ εἰς γενεὰς γενεῶν.	But Judea shall be inhabited for ever, and Jerusalem to all generations.
21	21
καὶ ἐκζητήσω τὸ αἷμα αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀθωώσω, καὶ Κύριος κατασκηνώσει ἐν Σιών.	And I will make inquisition for their blood, and will by no means leave it unavenged: and the Lord shall dwell in Sion.
