Р0дъ прех0дитъ и3 р0дъ прих0дитъ, ґ землS во вёкъ стои1тъ.	A generation goes, and a generation comes: but the earth stands for ever.

И# восх0дитъ с0лнце и3 зах0дитъ с0лнце и3 въ мёсто своE влечeтсz, сіE возсіzвaz тaмw.	And the sun arises, and the sun goes down and draws toward its place;

И$детъ къ ю4гу и3 њбх0дитъ къ сёверу, њбх0дитъ w4крестъ, и4детъ дyхъ и3 на крyги сво‰ њбращaетсz дyхъ.	arising there it proceeds southward, and goes round toward the north. The wind goes round and round, and the wind returns to its circuits.

Вси2 пот0цы и4дутъ въ м0ре, и3 м0ре нёсть насыщaемо: на мёсто, ѓможе пот0цы и4дутъ, тaмw тjи возвращaютсz и3ти2.	All the rivers run into the sea; and yet the sea is not filled: to the place whence the rivers come, thither they return again.

Вс‰ словесA тр{дна, не возм0жетъ мyжъ глаг0лати: и3 не насhтитсz џко зрёти, ни и3сп0лнитсz ќхо слhшаніz.	All things are full of labour; a man will not be able to speak of them: neither shall the eye be satisfied with seeing, neither shall the ear be filled with hearing.

Что2 бhло, т0жде є4сть, є4же бyдетъ: и3 что2 бhло сотворeное, т0жде и4мать сотвори1тисz:	What is that which has been? the very thing which shall be: and what is that which has been done? the very thing which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

и3 ничт0же н0во под8 с0лнцемъ. И$же возглаг0летъ и3 речeтъ: сE, сіE н0во є4сть: ўжE бhсть въ вёцэхъ бhвшихъ прeжде нaсъ.	Who is he that shall speak and say, Behold, this is new? it has already been in the ages that have passed before us.

Нёсть пaмzть пeрвыхъ, и3 послBднимъ бhвшымъ не бyдетъ и4хъ пaмzть съ бyдущими на послёдокъ.	There is no memorial to the first things; neither to the things that have been last shall their memorial be with them that shall be at the last time.

Ѓзъ є3кклесіaстъ бhхъ цaрь над8 ї}лемъ во їеrли1мэ	I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.

и3 вдaхъ сeрдце моE, є4же взыскaти и3 разсмотри1ти въ мyдрости њ всёхъ бывaющихъ под8 небесeмъ: ћкw попечeніе лукaво дадE бGъ сынHмъ человёчєскимъ, є4же ўпражднsтисz въ нeмъ.	And I applied my heart to seek out and examine by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven, for God has given to the sons of men an evil trouble to be troubled therewith.

Ви1дэхъ всsчєскаz сотворє1ніz сотворє1ннаz под8 с0лнцемъ: и3 сE, вс‰ сyетство и3 произволeніе дyха.	I beheld all the works that were wrought under the sun; and, behold, all were vanity and waywardness of spirit.

Развращeнное не м0жетъ и3спрaвитисz, и3 лишeніе не м0жетъ и3зчи1слитисz.	That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and deficiency cannot be numbered.

Глаг0лахъ ѓзъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ, є4же рещи2: сE, ѓзъ возвели1чихсz и3 ўмн0жихъ мyдрость пaче всёхъ, и5же бhша прeжде менє2 во їеrли1мэ,	I spoke in my heart, saying, Behold, I am increased, and have acquired wisdom beyond all who were before me in Jerusalem: also I applied my heart to know wisdom and knowledge.

и3 сeрдце моE вдaхъ, є4же вёдэти премyдрость и3 рaзумъ: и3 сeрдце моE ви1дэ мнHгаz, премyдрость и3 рaзумъ, при6тчи и3 хи1трость: ўразумёхъ ѓзъ, ћкw и3 сіE є4сть произволeніе дyха:	And my heart knew much—wisdom, and knowledge, parables and understanding: I perceived that this also is waywardness of spirit.

ћкw во мн0жествэ мyдрости мн0жество рaзума, и3 приложи1вый рaзумъ приложи1тъ болёзнь.	For in the abundance of wisdom is abundance of knowledge; and he that increases knowledge will increase sorrow.

Рек0хъ ѓзъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ: пріиди2 u5бо, да тS и3скушY въ весeліи, и3 ви1ждь во блaзэ: и3 сE, тaкожде сіE сyетство.	I said in my heart, Come now, I will prove thee with mirth, and behold thou good: and, behold, this is also vanity.

Смёху рек0хъ: погрэшeніе, и3 весeлію: что2 сіE твори1ши;	I said to laughter, Madness: and to mirth, Why doest thou this?

И# разсмотри1хъ, ѓще сeрдце моE повлечeтъ ѓки віно2 пл0ть мою2: и3 сeрдце моE настaви мS въ мyдрости, и3 є4же ўдержaти весeліе, д0ндеже ўви1жду, к0е блaго сынHмъ человёчєскимъ, є4же творsтъ под8 с0лнцемъ въ число2 днjй животA своегw2.	And I examined whether my heart would excite my flesh as with wine, (though my heart guided me in wisdom,) and I desired to lay hold of mirth, until I should see of what kind is the good to the sons of men, which they should do under the sun all the days of their life.

Возвели1чихъ творeніе моE: создaхъ ми2 д0мы, насади1хъ ми2 віногрaды,	I enlarged my work; I built me houses; I planted me vineyards.

сотвори1хъ ми2 вертогрaды и3 сады2 и3 насади1хъ въ ни1хъ древeсъ всsкагw плодA,	I made me gardens and orchards, and planted in them every kind of fruit-tree.

сотвори1хъ ми2 купBли вwднhz, є4же напаsти t ни1хъ прозzбeніе древeсъ:	I made me pools of water, to water from them the timber-bearing wood.

притzжaхъ рабы6 и3 рабы6ни, и3 домочaдцы бhша ми2: и3 стzжaніе скотA, и3 стaдъ мн0го ми2 бhсть, пaче всёхъ бhвшихъ прeжде менє2 во їеrли1мэ:	I got servants and maidens, and servants were born to me in the house: also I had abundant possession of flocks and herds, beyond all who were before me in Jerusalem.

собрaхъ ми2 злaто и3 сребро2 и3 и3мBніz царeй и3 стрaнъ, сотвори1хъ ми2 пою1щихъ и3 пою1щыz, и3 ўслаждє1ніz сынHвъ человёческихъ, віночeрпцы и3 віночє1рпицы.	Moreover I collected for myself both silver and gold also, and the peculiar treasures of kings and provinces: I procured me singing men and singing women, and delights of the sons of men, a butler and female cupbearers.

И# возвели1чихсz, и3 приложи1хсz мyдрости пaче всёхъ бhвшихъ прeжде менє2 во їеrли1мэ: и3 мyдрость моS пребhсть со мн0ю.	So I became great, and advanced beyond all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom was established to me.

И# всE, є3гHже проси1ста џчи мои2, не tsхъ t ни1хъ и3 не возбрани1хъ сeрдцу моемY t всsкагw весeліz моегw2, ћкw сeрдце моE возвесели1сz во всsцэмъ трудЁ моeмъ. И# сіE бhсть чaсть моS t всегw2 трудA моегw2.	And whatever mine eyes desired, I withheld not from them, I withheld not my heart from all my mirth: for my heart rejoiced in all my labour; and this was my portion of all my labour.

И# призрёхъ ѓзъ на вс‰ творє1ніz мо‰, ±же сотвори1стэ рyцэ мои2, и3 на трyдъ, и4мже труди1хсz твори1ти. И# сE, вс‰ суетA и3 произволeніе дyха, и3 нёсть и3з8oби1ліе под8 с0лнцемъ.	And I looked on all my works which my hands had wrought, and on my labour which I laboured to perform: and, behold, all was vanity and waywardness of spirit, and there is no advantage under the sun.

И# призрёхъ ѓзъ ви1дэти мyдрость, лeсть и3 безyміе: ћкw кто2 человёкъ, и4же п0йдетъ в8слёдъ совёта, є3ли6ка сотвори2 въ нeмъ;	Then I looked on to see wisdom, and madness, and folly: for who is the man who will follow after counsel, in all things wherein he employs it?

И# ви1дэхъ ѓзъ, ћкw є4сть и3з8oби1ліе мyдрости пaче безyміz, ћкоже и3з8oби1ліе свёта пaче тмы2:	And I saw that wisdom excels folly, as much as light excels darkness.

мyдрагw џчи є3гw2 во главЁ є3гw2, ґ безyмный во тмЁ х0дитъ: и3 ўвёдэхъ и3 ѓзъ, ћкw слyчай є3ди1нъ случи1тсz всBмъ и5мъ.	The wise man's eyes are in his head; but the fool walks in darkness: and I perceived, even I, that one event shall happen to them all.

И# рёхъ ѓзъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ: ћкоже слyчай безyмнагw, и3 мнЁ случи1тсz: и3 вскyю ўмудри1хсz; Ѓзъ тогдA и3зли1шше глаг0лахъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ, ћкw и3 сіE суетA, понeже безyмный t и3збhтка глаг0летъ:	And I said in my heart, As the event of the fool is, so shall it be to me, even to me; and to what purpose have I gained wisdom? I said moreover in my heart, This is also vanity, because the fool speaks of his abundance.

ћкw нёсть пaмzти мyдрагw съ безyмнымъ во вёкъ, занE ўжE во днeхъ грzдyщихъ вс‰ забвє1на бhша: и3 кaкw ќмретъ мyдрый съ безyмнымъ;	For there is no remembrance of the wise man with the fool for ever; forasmuch as now in the coming days all things are forgotten: and how shall the wise man die with the fool?

И# возненави1дэхъ жив0тъ, ћкw лукaвно мнЁ сотворeніе сотворeнное под8 с0лнцемъ: понeже всsчєскаz суетA и3 произволeніе дyха.	So I hated life; because the work that was wrought under the sun was evil before me: for all is vanity and waywardness of spirit.

И# возненави1дэхъ ѓзъ всsчєскаz мjра и3 трyдъ м0й, и4мже ѓзъ труждaюсz под8 с0лнцемъ, ћкw њставлsю є3го2 человёку бyдущему по мнЁ.	And I hated the whole of my labour which I took under the sun; because I must leave it to the man who will come after me.

И# кто2 вёсть, мyдръ ли бyдетъ и3ли2 безyменъ; и3 њбладaти ли и4мать всёмъ труд0мъ мои1мъ, и4мже труди1хсz и3 и4мже мyдрствовахъ под8 с0лнцемъ; И# сіe же суетA.	And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? and whether he will have power over all my labour in which I laboured, and wherein I grew wise under the sun? this is also vanity.

И# њбрати1хсz ѓзъ tрещи1сz сeрдцу моемY њ всeмъ трудЁ, и4мже труди1хсz под8 с0лнцемъ:	So I went about to dismiss from my heart all my labour wherein I had laboured under the sun.

ћкw є4сть человёкъ, є3гHже трyдъ въ мyдрости и3 въ рaзумэ и3 въ мyжествэ: и3 человёкъ, и4же не потруди1сz њ нeмъ, дaстъ є3мY чaсть свою2. И# сіE суетA и3 лукaвство вeліе.	For there is such a man that his labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in fortitude; yet this man shall give his portion to one who has not laboured therein. This is also vanity and great evil.

Ћкw бывaетъ человёку во всeмъ трудЁ є3гw2 и3 въ произволeніи сeрдца є3гw2, и4мже т0й труждaетсz под8 с0лнцемъ,	For it happens to a man in all his labour, and in the purpose of his heart wherein he labours under the sun.

ћкw вси2 днjе є3гw2 болёзней и3 ћрости попечeніе є3мY, и4бо въ нощи2 не спи1тъ сeрдце є3гw2. И# сіe же суетA є4сть.	For all his days are days of sorrows, and vexation of spirit is his; in the night also his heart rests not. This is also vanity.

Нёсть блaго человёку, но (рaзвэ) є4же ћстъ и3 піeтъ и3 є4же покaжетъ души2 своeй блaго въ трудЁ своeмъ: и3 сіE ви1дэхъ ѓзъ, ћкw t руки2 б9іz є4сть:	A man has nothing really good to eat, and to drink, and to shew his soul as good in his trouble. This also I saw, that it is from the hand of God.

ћкw кто2 ћстъ и3 піeтъ кромЁ є3гw2;	For who shall eat, or who shall drink, without him?

Ћкw человёку блaгу пред8 лицeмъ є3гw2 дадE мyдрость и3 рaзумъ и3 весeліе, согрэшaющему же дадE попечeніе, є4же прилагaти и3 собирaти, во є4же дaти благ0му пред8 лицeмъ б9іимъ: ћкw и3 сіE суетA и3 произволeніе дyха.	For God has given to the man who is good in his sight, wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but he has given to the sinner trouble, to add and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God; for this is also vanity and waywardness of spirit.

ВсBмъ врeмz и3 врeмz всsцэй вeщи под8 небесeмъ:	To all things there is a time, and a season for every matter under heaven.
2	2
врeмz раждaти и3 врeмz ўмирaти, врeмz сади1ти и3 врeмz и3сторгaти саждeное,	A time of birth, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what has been planted;

врeмz ўбивaти и3 врeмz цэли1ти, врeмz разрушaти и3 врeмz созидaти,	a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to pull down, and a time to build up;

врeмz плaкати и3 врeмz смэsтисz, врeмz рыдaти и3 врeмz ликовaти,	a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to lament, and a time to dance;

врeмz разметaти кaменіе и3 врeмz собирaти кaменіе, врeмz њбымaти и3 врeмz ўдалsтисz t њбымaніz,	a time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to abstain from embracing;

врeмz и3скaти и3 врeмz погублsти, врeмz храни1ти и3 врeмz tрёzти,	a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

врeмz раздрaти и3 врeмz сши1ти, врeмz молчaти и3 врeмz глаг0лати,	a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak;

врeмz люби1ти и3 врeмz ненави1дэти, врeмz брaни и3 врeмz ми1ра.	a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

К0е и3з8oби1ліе творsщагw, въ ни1хже сaмъ труди1тсz;	What advantage has he that works in those things wherein he labours?

Ви1дэхъ попечeніе всsческое, є4же дадE бGъ сынHмъ человёчєскимъ, є4же пещи1сz въ нeмъ.	I have seen all the trouble, which God has given to the sons of men to be troubled with.

Всsчєскаz, ±же сотвори2, дwбрA (сyть) во врeмz своE, и4бо всsкій вёкъ дaлъ є4сть въ сeрдце и4хъ, ћкw да не њбрsщетъ человёкъ сотворeніz, є4же сотвори2 бGъ t начaла и3 дaже до концA.	All the things which he has made are beautiful in his time: he has also set the whole world in their heart, that man might not find out the work which God has wrought from the beginning even to the end.

Ўразумёхъ, ћкw нёсть блaго въ ни1хъ, но т0кмw є4же весели1тисz и3 є4же твори1ти блaго въ животЁ своeмъ:	I know that there is no good in them, except for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

и4бо всsкъ человёкъ, и4же ћстъ и3 піeтъ и3 ви1дитъ благ0е во всeмъ трудЁ своeмъ, сіE даsніе б9іе є4сть.	Also in the case of every man who shall eat and drink, and see good in all his labour, this is a gift of God.

Разумёхъ, ћкw вс‰, є3ли6ка сотвори2 бGъ, сі‰ бyдутъ во вёкъ: къ тBмъ нёсть приложи1ти и3 t тёхъ нёсть tsти, и3 бGъ сотвори2, да ўбоsтсz t лицA є3гw2:	I know that whatsoever things God has done, they shall be for ever: it is impossible to add to it, and it is impossible to take away from it: and God has done it, that men may fear before him.

бhвшее ўжE є4сть, и3 є3ли6ка и4мутъ бhти, ўжE бhша, и3 бGъ взhщетъ гони1маго.	That which has been is now; and whatever things are appointed to be have already been; and God will seek out that which is past.

И# є3щE ви1дэхъ под8 с0лнцемъ мёсто судA, тaмw нечести1вый, и3 мёсто првdнагw, тaмw бlгочести1вый.	And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, there was the ungodly one; and the place of righteousness, there was the godly one.

И# рёхъ ѓзъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ: првdнаго и3 нечести1ваго сyдитъ бGъ: ћкw врeмz всsцэй вeщи и3 на всsцэмъ сотворeніи тaмw.	And I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the ungodly: for there is a time there for every action and for every work.

Рёхъ ѓзъ въ сeрдцы моeмъ њ глаг0ланіи сынHвъ человёческихъ, ћкw разсyдитъ и5хъ бGъ: и3 є4же показaти, ћкw сjи ск0ти сyть:	I said in my heart, concerning the speech of the sons of man, God will judge them, and that to shew that they are beasts.

и4бо и3 тBмъ ћкоже слyчай сынHвъ человёческихъ и3 слyчай ск0тскій, слyчай є3ди1нъ и5мъ: ћкоже смeрть тогw2, тaкw и3 смeрть сегw2, и3 дyхъ є3ди1нъ во всёхъ: и3 что2 и3зли1шше и4мать человёкъ пaче скотA; ничт0же: ћкw всsчєскаz суетA.	Also to them is the event of the sons of man, and the event of the brute; one event befalls them: as is the death of the one, so also the death of the other; and there is one breath to all: and what has the man more than the brute? nothing; for all is vanity.

Вс‰ и4дутъ во є3ди1но мёсто: вс‰ бhша t пeрсти и3 вс‰ въ пeрсть возвращaютсz.	All go to one place; all were formed of the dust, and all will return to dust.

И# кто2 вёсть дyхъ сынHвъ человёческихъ, ѓще т0й восх0дитъ горЁ; и3 дyхъ ск0тскій, ѓще низх0дитъ т0й д0лу въ зeмлю;	And who has seen the spirit of the sons of man, whether it goes upward? and the spirit of the beast, whether it goes downward to the earth?

И# ви1дэхъ, ћкw нёсть блaго, но т0кмw є4же возвесели1тсz человёкъ въ творeніихъ свои1хъ, ћкw сіS чaсть є3гw2: понeже кто2 приведeтъ є3го2 ви1дэти то2, є4же бyдетъ по нeмъ;	And I saw that there was no good, but that wherein a man shall rejoice in his works, for it is his portion, for who shall bring him to see any thing of that which shall be after him?
Главa д7	Chapter 4

И# њбрати1хсz ѓзъ и3 ви1дэхъ вс‰ њклевєтaніz быв†ющаz под8 с0лнцемъ: и3 сE, слeзы њклеветaнныхъ, и3 нёсть и5мъ ўтэшaющагw, и3 t руки2 клевeщущихъ на нS крёпость, и3 нёсть и5мъ ўтэшaющагw.	So I returned, and saw all the oppressions that were done under the sun: and behold the tear of the oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of them that oppressed them was power; but they had no comforter:

И# похвали1хъ ѓзъ всёхъ ўмeршихъ, и5же ўмр0ша ўжE, пaче живhхъ, є3ли1цы жи1ви сyть досeлэ:	and I praised all the dead that had already died more than the living, as many as are alive until now.

и3 блaгъ пaче nбои1хъ си1хъ, и4же є3щE не бhсть, и4же не ви1дэ всsкагw сотворeніz лукaвагw сотворeннагw под8 с0лнцемъ.	Better also than both these is he who has not yet been, who has not seen all the evil work that is done under the sun.

И# ви1дэхъ ѓзъ вeсь трyдъ и3 всsко мyжество сотворeніz, ћкw сіE рeвность мyжа t п0друга своегw2. И# сіE суетA и3 произволeніе дyха.	And I saw all labour, and all the diligent work, that this is a man's envy from his neighbour. This is also vanity and waywardness of spirit.

Безyмный њб8sтъ рyцэ свои2 и3 снэдE плHти сво‰.	The fool folds his hands together, and eats his own flesh.

Блaго є4сть и3сполнeніе г0рсти пок0z, пaче и3сполнeніz двою2 гHрстію трудA и3 произволeніz дyха.	Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of trouble and waywardness of spirit.

И# њбрати1хсz ѓзъ и3 ви1дэхъ сyетство под8 с0лнцемъ:	So I returned, and saw vanity under the sun.

є4сть є3ди1нъ, и3 нёсть вторaгw, ни сhна, нижE брaта нёсть є3мY, и3 нёсть концA всемY трудY є3гw2, нижE џко є3гw2 насыщaетсz богaтства. И# комY ѓзъ труждaюсz и3 лишaю дyшу мою2 t благостhни; И# сіE суетA и3 попечeніе лукaвно є4сть.	There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither son nor brother: yet there is no end to all his labour; neither is his eye satisfied with wealth; and for whom do I labour, and deprive my soul of good? this is also vanity, and an evil trouble.

Блaзи двA пaче є3ди1нагw, и5мже є4сть мздA блaга въ трудЁ и4хъ:	Two are better than one, seeing they have a good reward for their labour.

ћкw ѓще падeтсz є3ди1нъ t ни1хъ, воздви1гнетъ другjй причaстника своего2: и3 г0ре томY є3ди1ному, є3гдA падeтъ и3 не бyдетъ вторaгw воздви1гнути є3го2.	For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls, and there is not a second to lift him up.

И# ѓще ќснета двA, тепло2 и4ма бyдетъ, ґ є3ди1нъ кaкw согрёетсz;	Also if two should lie together, they also get heat: but how shall one be warmed alone?

И# ѓще ўкрэпи1тсz є3ди1нъ, двA стaнета проти1ву є3мY: и3 вeрвь треплетeна не ск0рw раст0ргнетсz.	And if one should prevail against him, the two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord shall not be quickly broken.

Блaгъ џтрокъ ни1щь и3 мyдръ, пaче стaра царS и3 безyмна, и4же не разумЁ внимaти є3щE:	Better is a poor and wise child than an old and foolish king, who knows not how to take heed any longer.

ћкw и3з8 д0му ю4зникwвъ и3зhдетъ цaрствовати, понeже и3 въ цaрствэ своeмъ роди1сz ни1щь.	For he shall come forth out of the house of the prisoners to reign, because he also that was in his kingdom has become poor.

Keep thy foot, whensoever thou goest to the house of God; and when thou art near to hear, let thy sacrifice be better than the gift of fools: for they know not that they are doing evil.

Блaго тебЁ є4же не њбэщавaтисz, нeжели њбэщaвшусz тебЁ, не tдaти.	It is better that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Не дaждь ўстнaмъ твои6мъ є4же во грёхъ ввести2 пл0ть твою2, и3 да не речeши пред8 лицeмъ б9іимъ, ћкw невёдэніе є4сть: да не прогнёваетсz бGъ њ глaсэ твоeмъ и3 растли1тъ творє1ніz рyкъ твои1хъ:	Suffer not thy mouth to lead thy flesh to sin; and say not in the presence of God, It was an error: lest God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the works of thy hands.

ћкw во мн0жествэ с0ній и3 сyетствіz, (тaкw) и3 словесA мнHга, тёмже бGа б0йсz.	For there is evil in a multitude of dreams and vanities and many words: but fear thou God.

Ѓще њби1ду ни1щагw и3 расхищeніе судA и3 прaвды ўви1диши во странЁ, не диви1сz њ вeщи: ћкw выс0кій над8 выс0кимъ надзирaтель, и3 выс0цыи над8 ни1ми,	If thou shouldest see the oppression of the poor, and the wresting of judgment and of justice in the land, wonder not at the matter: for there is a high one to watch over him that is high, and high ones over them.

и3 и3з8oби1ліе земли2 над8 всёмъ є4сть цaрь селA воздёланна.	Also the abundance of the earth is for every one: the king is dependent on the tilled field.

Любsй сребро2 не насhтитсz сребрA: и3 кто2 наслади1тсz во мн0жествэ є3гw2 плодA; И# сіE суетA.	He that loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver: and who has loved gain, in the abundance thereof? this is also vanity.

Во мн0жествэ блaга ўмн0жишасz kдyщіи є5: и3 к0е мyжество и3мyщему є5; ћкw начaло є4же ви1дэти nчи1ма свои1ма.	In the multitude of good they are increased that eat it: and what virtue has the owner, but the right of beholding it with his eyes?

С0нъ слaдокъ раб0тающему, ѓще мaлw и3ли2 мн0гw снёсть: ґ насhтившагосz богaтство не њставлsетъ ўснyти.	The sleep of a servant is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but to one who is satiated with wealth, there is none that suffers him to sleep.

Е$сть недyгъ, є3г0же ви1дэхъ под8 с0лнцемъ, богaтство храни1мо t стzжaтелz во ѕло2 є3мY:	There is an infirmity which I have seen under the sun, namely, wealth kept for its owner to his hurt.

и3 поги1бнетъ богaтство џно въ попечeніи лукaвнэ: и3 роди2 сhна, и3 нёсть въ руцЁ є3гw2 ничт0же:	And that wealth shall perish in an evil trouble: and the man begets a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

ћкоже и3зhде и3з8 чрeва мaтере своеS нaгъ, возврати1тсz и3ти2, ћкоже и3 пріи1де, и3 ничт0же в0зметъ t трудA своегw2, да понесeтъ въ руцЁ своeй.	As he came forth naked from his mother's womb, he shall return back as he came, and he shall receive nothing for his labour, that it should go with him in his hand.

И# сіE ѕ0лъ недyгъ: ћкоже бо пріи1де, тaкw и3 tи1детъ, и3 кaz п0льза є3мY, ћкw труди1тсz на вётръ;	And this is also an evil infirmity: for as he came, so also shall he return: and what is his gain, for which he vainly labours?

И$бо вси2 днjе є3гw2 во тмЁ и3 плaчи и3 въ ћрости мн0зэ, и3 въ недyзэ и3 во гнёвэ.	Yea, all his days are in darkness, and in mourning, and much sorrow, and infirmity, and wrath.

СE, ви1дэхъ ѓзъ благ0е, є4же є4сть и3зрsдно, є4же ћсти и3 пи1ти и3 ви1дэти благостhню во всeмъ трудЁ своeмъ, и4мже труди1лсz бы под8 с0лнцемъ, въ число2 днjй животA своегw2, ±же дaлъ є4сть є3мY бGъ, ћкw сіE чaсть є3гw2:	Behold, I have seen good, that it is a fine thing for a man to eat and to drink, and to see good in all his labour in which he may labour under the sun, all the number of the days of his life which God has given to him: for it is his portion.

И# сіE суетA и3 недyгъ ѕ0лъ є4сть.	a man to whom God shall give wealth, and substance, and honour, and he wants nothing for his soul of all things that he shall desire, yet God shall not give him power to eat of it, for a stranger shall devour it: this is vanity, and an evil infirmity.

и3 поживE тhсzщу лётъ сугyбw, и3 благостhни не ви1дэ: є3дA не во є3ди1но мёсто вс‰ и4дутъ;	Though he has lived to the return of a thousand years, yet he has seen no good: do not all go to one place?

Вeсь трyдъ человёчь во ўстA є3гw2, и3 душA є3гw2 не и3сп0лнитсz.	All the labour of a man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite shall not be satisfied.

Ћкw к0е и3з8oби1ліе (человёку) мyдрому пaче безyмнагw; понeже ни1щь познA ходи1ти проти1ву животA.	For what advantage has the wise man over the fool, since even the poor knows how to walk in the direction of life?

Блaго видёніе џчію пaче ходsщагw душeю. И# сE сyетствіе и3 произволeніе дyха.	The sight of the eyes is better than that which wanders in soul: this is also vanity, and waywardness of spirit.

Блaго и4мz пaче є3лeа блaга, и3 дeнь смeртный пaче днS рождeніz є3гw2.	It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the banquet house: since this is the end of every man; and the living man will apply good warning to his heart.

Блaго ходи1ти въ д0мъ плaча, нeжели ходи1ти въ д0мъ пи1ра, понeже сіE конeцъ всsкому человёку, и3 живhй дaстъ блaго въ сeрдцы є3гw2.	Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart will be made better.

Блaга ћрость пaче смёха, ћкw во ѕл0бэ лицA ўблажи1тсz сeрдце.	The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Сeрдце мyдрыхъ въ домY плaча, ґ сeрдце безyмныхъ въ домY весeліz.	It is better to hear a reproof of a wise man, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Блaго є4же слhшати прещeніе премyдра, пaче мyжа слhшащагw пёснь безyмныхъ:	As the sound of thorns under a caldron, so is the laughter of fools: this is also vanity.

ћкоже глaсъ тeрніz под8 котл0мъ, тaкw смёхъ безyмныхъ. И# сіE суетA.	For oppression makes a wise man mad, and destroys his noble heart.

Ћкw клеветA льсти1тъ мyдраго и3 погублsетъ сeрдце благор0дствіz є3гw2.	The end of a matter is better than the beginning thereof: the patient is better than the high-minded.

Бл†га послBднzz словeсъ пaче начaла є3гw2: блaгъ терпэли1вый пaче выс0кагw дyхомъ.	Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger will rest in the bosom of fools.

Не тщи1сz въ дyсэ своeмъ kри1тисz, ћкw ћрость въ нёдрэ безyмныхъ почjетъ.	Say not, What has happened, that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire in wisdom concerning this.

Да не речeши: что2 бhсть, ћкw днjе прeждніи бёша блaзи пaче си1хъ; ћкw не въ мyдрости вопроси1лъ є3си2 њ сeмъ.	Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and there is an advantage by it to them that see the sun.

Блaга мyдрость съ наслёдіемъ, пaче же ви1дzщымъ с0лнце:	For wisdom in its shadow is as the shadow of silver: and the excellence of the knowledge of wisdom will give life to him that has it.

ћкw въ сёни є3гw2 мyдрость, ћкоже сёнь сребрA, и3 и3з8oби1ліе рaзума премyдрости њживлsетъ, и4же t неS.	Behold the works of God: for who shall be able to straighten him whom God has made crooked?

Ви1ждь творє1ніz б9іz: ћкw кто2 м0жетъ ўкраси1ти, є3г0же ѓще бGъ преврати1тъ;	In the day of prosperity live joyfully, and consider in the day of adversity: consider, I say, God also has caused the one to agree with the other for this reason, that man should find nothing after him.

Въ дeнь благостhни (є3гw2) живи2 во блaзэ и3 ви1ждь въ дeнь ѕлA: ви1ждь, и3 съ ни1мъ соглaсно сіE сотвори2 бGъ, њ глаг0ланіи, да не њбрsщетъ человёкъ за ни1мъ ничт0же.	I have seen all things in the days of my vanity: there is a just man perishing in his justice, and there is an ungodly man remaining in his wickedness.

Всsчєскаz ви1дэхъ во днeхъ сyетствіz моегw2: є4сть првdный погибazй во своeй прaвдэ, и3 є4сть нечести1вый пребывazй во своeй ѕл0бэ.	Be not very just; neither be very wise: lest thou be confounded.

Не бyди правди1въ вельми2, ни мудри1сz и3зли1шше, да не когдA и3зуми1шисz.	Be not very wicked; and be not stubborn: lest thou shouldest die before thy time.

Не нечeствуй мн0гw и3 не бyди жeстокъ, да не ќмреши не во врeмz своE.	It is well for thee to hold fast by this; also by this defile not thine hand: for to them that fear God all things shall come forth well.

Блaго ти2 є4сть держaтисz сегw2, и3 t сегw2 не њскверни2 руки2 твоеS, ћкw боsщымсz бGа поспэшaтсz вс‰.	Wisdom will help the wise man more than ten mighty men which are in the city.

Премyдрость пом0жетъ мyдрому пaче десzти2 њбладaющихъ во грaдэ:	For there is not a righteous man in the earth, who will do good, and not sin.

ћкw нёсть человёкъ прaведенъ на земли2, и4же сотвори1тъ благ0е и3 не согрэши1тъ.	Also take no heed to all the words which ungodly men shall speak; lest thou hear thy servant cursing thee.

ћкw мн0гажды возлукaвнуетъ на тS, и3 њбхождє1ніи мн0гими њѕл0битъ сeрдце твоE, ћкоже и3 ты2 клsлъ є3си2 и3ны6z (мнHгіz).	All these things have I proved in wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me.

Вс‰ сі‰ и3скуси1хъ въ мyдрости: рёхъ, ўмудрю1сz: и3 сіS ўдали1сz t менє2	That which is far beyond what was, and a great depth, who shall find it out?

далeче пaче нeже бёхъ, и3 бeздны глубинA, кто2 њбрsщетъ ю5;	I and my heart went round about to know, and to examine, and to seek wisdom, and the account of things, and to know the folly and trouble and madness of the ungodly man.

ЎстA царє1ва сохрани2, и3 њ словеси2 клsтвы б9іz не ск0ръ бyди.	Observe the commandment of the king, and that because of the word of the oath of God.

T лицA є3гw2 п0йдеши, не стaни во словеси2 лукaвнэ, ћкw всE, є4же (ѓще) восх0щетъ, сотвори1тъ,	Be not hasty; thou shalt go forth out of his presence: stand not in an evil matter; for he will do whatsoever he shall please,

ћкоже цaрь њбладazй, и3 кто2 речeтъ є3мY: что2 твори1ши;	even as a king having power: and who will say to him, What doest thou?

Хранsй зaповэдь не ўвёсть глаг0ла лукaвна: и3 врeмz судA вёсть сeрдце мyдрагw,	He that keeps the commandment shall not know an evil thing: and the heart of the wise knows the time of judgment.

ћкw всsцэй вeщи є4сть врeмz и3 сyдъ: ћкw рaзумъ человёка мн0гъ (є4сть) на нeмъ,	For to every thing there is time and judgment; for the knowledge of a man is great to him.

ћкw нёсть вёдzщагw, что2 бyдущее: занE ћкоже бyдетъ, кто2 возвэсти1тъ є3мY;	For there is no one that knows what is going to be: for who shall tell him how it shall be?

Нёсть человёка владyщагw дyхомъ, є4же возбрани1ти дyху: и3 нёсть владyщагw въ дeнь смeрти, и3 нёсть послA въ дeнь брaни: и3 не спасeтъ нечeстіе сyщаго въ нeмъ.	There is no man that has power over the spirit to retain the spirit; and there is no power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in the day of battle; neither shall ungodliness save her votary.

И# всE сіE ви1дэхъ, и3 вдaхъ сeрдце моE во всE сотворeніе, є4же сотворeно є4сть под8 с0лнцемъ, вс‰, во є3ли1кихъ њбладaнъ є4сть человёкъ над8 человёкомъ, є4же њѕл0бити є3го2.	So I saw all this, and I applied my heart to every work that has been done under the sun; all the things wherein man has power over man to afflict him.

И# тогдA ви1дэхъ нечєсти1выz во гр0бы внесє1ны, и3 t с™aгw: и3 и3д0ша и3 похвалeни бhша во грaдэ, ћкw си1це сотвори1ша. И# сіE суетA.	And then I saw the ungodly carried into the tombs, and that out of the holy place: and they departed, and were praised in the city, because they had done thus: this also is vanity.

Ћкw нёсть прерэкaніz бывaющагw творsщымъ лукaвое вск0рэ: сегw2 рaди ўвёрисz сeрдце сынHвъ человёческихъ въ ни1хъ, є4же сотвори1ти лукaвое.	Because there is no contradiction made on the part of those who do evil quickly, therefore the heart of the children of men is fully determined in them to do evil.

И$же согрэши2, сотвори1лъ є4сть лукaвое, tт0лэ, и3 t долготы2 и4хъ: и4бо и3 вёмъ ѓзъ, ћкw є4сть блaго боsщымсz бGа, да боsтсz t лицA є3гw2,	He that has sinned has done evil from that time, and long from beforehand: nevertheless I know, that it is well with them that fear God, that they may fear before him:

и3 не бyдетъ блaго нечести1вому, и3 не продолжи1тъ днjй въ сёни, и4же нёсть боsйсz t лицA б9іz.	but it shall not be well with the ungodly, and he shall not prolong his days, which are as a shadow; forasmuch as he fears not before God.

Е$сть суетA, ћже сотворeна є4сть на земли2: ћкw сyть првdніи, на ни1хже постизaетъ ћкw творeніе нечести1выхъ, и3 сyть нечести1віи, на ни1хже постизaетъ ћкw творeніе првdныхъ. Рёхъ, ћкw и3 сіE суетA.	There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there are righteous persons to whom it happens according to the doing of the ungodly; and there are ungodly men, to whom it happens according to the doing of the just: I said, This is also vanity.

И# похвали1хъ ѓзъ весeліе, ћкw нёсть блaго человёку под8 с0лнцемъ, но т0кмw є4же ћсти и3 пи1ти и3 є4же весели1тисz: и3 то2 прибhтокъ є3мY въ трудЁ є3гw2 во днeхъ животA є3гw2, и5хже дaлъ є4сть є3мY бGъ под8 с0лнцемъ.	Then I praised mirth, because there is no good for a man under the sun, but to eat, and drink, and be merry: and this shall attend him in his labour all the days of his life, which God has given him under the sun.

Whereupon I set my heart to know wisdom, and to perceive the trouble that was wrought upon the earth: for there is that neither by day nor night sees sleep with his eyes.

And I beheld all the works of God, that a man shall not be able to discover the work which is wrought under the sun; whatsoever things a man shall endeavour to seek, however a man may labour to seek it, yet he shall not find it; yea, how much soever a wise man may speak of knowing it, he shall not be able to find it: for I applied all this to my heart, and my heart has seen all this.

I saw that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: yea, there is no man that knows either love or hatred, though all are before their face.

Слyчай є3ди1нъ првdному и3 нечести1вому, бlг0му и3 ѕл0му, и3 чи1стому и3 нечи1стому, и3 жрyщему и3 не жрyщему: ћкоже бlгjй, тaкw согрэшazй, ћкоже кленhйсz, тaкw боsйсz клsтвы.	Vanity is in all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good, and to the bad; both to the pure, and to the impure; both to him that sacrifices, and to him that sacrifices not: as is the good, so is the sinner: as is the swearer, even so is he that fears an oath.

СіE лукaво во всsцэмъ сотворeнэмъ под8 с0лнцемъ, ћкw слyчай є3ди1нъ всBмъ: и3 сeрдце сынHвъ человёческихъ и3сп0лнисz лукaвствіz, и3 прeлесть въ сердцaхъ и4хъ и3 въ животЁ и4хъ, и3 по си1хъ къ мє1ртвымъ.	There is this evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event to all: yea, the heart of the sons of men is filled with evil, and madness is in their heart during their life, and after that they go to the dead.

Понeже кто2 є4сть, и4же приwбщaетсz ко всBмъ живы6мъ; Е$сть надeжда, ћкw пeсъ живhй, т0й блaгъ пaче львA мeртва.	For who is he that has fellowship with all the living? there is hope of him: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.

Понeже живjи разумёютъ, ћкw ќмрутъ, мeртвіи же не сyть вёдущіи ничт0же: и3 ктомY нёсть и5мъ мзды2, ћкw забвeна є4сть пaмzть и4хъ,	For the living will know that they shall die: but the dead know nothing, and there is no longer any reward to them; for their memory is lost.

и3 люб0вь и4хъ и3 нeнависть и4хъ и3 рвeніе и4хъ ўжE поги1бе, и3 чaсти нёсть и5мъ ктомY во вёки во всsцэмъ творeніи под8 с0лнцемъ.	Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, have now perished; yea, there is no portion for them any more for ever in all that is done under the sun.

Пріиди2, ћждь въ весeліи хлёбъ тв0й и3 пjй во блaзэ сeрдцы віно2 твоE, ћкw ўжE ўгHдна бGу творє1ніz тво‰.	Go, eat thy bread with mirth, and drink thy wine with a joyful heart; for now God has favourably accepted thy works.

Во всsко врeмz да бyдутъ ри6зы тво‰ бBлы, и3 є3лeй на главЁ твоeй да не њскудёетъ.	Let thy garments be always white; and let not oil be wanting on thine head.

И# ви1ждь житіE съ жен0ю, ю4же возлюби1лъ є3си2, во вс‰ дни6 животA ю4ности твоеS, д†нныz ти2 под8 с0лнцемъ, вс‰ дни6 сyетствіz твоегw2: ћкw сіE чaсть твоS въ животЁ твоeмъ и3 въ трудЁ твоeмъ, и4мже ты2 труди1шисz под8 с0лнцемъ.	And see life with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which are given thee under the sun: for that is thy portion in thy life, and in thy labour wherein thou labourest under the sun.

Вс‰, є3ли6ка ѓще њбрsщетъ рукA твоS сотвори1ти, ћкоже си1ла твоS, сотвори2: занE нёсть сотворeніе и3 помышлeніе и3 рaзумъ и3 мyдрость во ѓдэ, ѓможе ты2 и4деши тaмw.	Whatsoever thine hand shall find to do, do with all thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Hades whither thou goest.

Њбрати1хсz и3 ви1дэхъ под8 с0лнцемъ, ћкw ни лє1гкимъ течeніе, нижE си6льнымъ брaнь, нижE самомY мyдрому хлёбъ, нижE раз{мнымъ богaтство, нижE вёдущымъ благодaть: ћкw врeмz и3 слyчай случи1тсz всBмъ си6мъ.	I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor yet wealth to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of knowledge; for time and chance will happen to them all.

Ћкw ќбw не разумЁ человёкъ врeмене своегw2: ћкоже ры6бы ўловлsємы во мрeжи ѕлЁ, и3 ѓки пти6цы ўловлsємы въ сёти: ћкоже сі‰, ўловлsютсz сhнове человёчестіи во врeмz лукaво, є3гдA нападeтъ на нS внезaпу.	For surely man also knows not his time: as fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as birds that are caught in a snare; even thus the sons of men are snared at an evil time, when it falls suddenly upon them.

И# сіE ви1дэхъ, мyдрость под8 с0лнцемъ, и3 вели1ка є4сть во мнЁ:	This I also saw to be wisdom under the sun, and it is great before me:

грaдъ мaлъ, и3 мужeй въ нeмъ мaлw, и3 пріи1детъ нaнь цaрь вели1къ и3 w4крестъ њблsжетъ є3го2, и3 содёлаетъ на него2 nстр0ги вє1ліz,	suppose there were a little city, and few men in it; and there should come against it a great king, and surround it, and build great mounds against it;

и3 њбрsщетъ въ нeмъ мyжа ни1щаго мyдра, и3 сeй спасeтъ грaдъ мyдростію своeю, и3 человёкъ не воспомzнY мyжа ни1щагw џнагw.	and should find in it a poor wise man, and he should save the city through his wisdom: yet no man would remember that poor man.

И# рёхъ ѓзъ: благA мyдрость пaче си1лы, и3 мyдрость ни1щагw ўничижeна, и3 словесA є3гw2 не сyть послyшаєма.	And I said, Wisdom is better than power: yet the wisdom of the poor man is set at nought, and his words not listened to.

СловесA мyдрыхъ въ пок0и слhшатсz, пaче кли1ча њбладaющихъ въ безyміи.	The words of the wise are heard in quiet more than the cry of them that rule in folly.

БлагA мyдрость пaче nрyдій рaтныхъ: и3 согрэшazй є3ди1нъ погуби1тъ благостhню мн0гу.	Wisdom is better than weapons of war: and one sinner will destroy much good.

М{хи ўмeршыz згноsютъ є3лeа слaдость: чeстно мaлое мyдрости пaче слaвы вели1ки безyміz.	Pestilent flies will corrupt a preparation of sweet ointment: and a little wisdom is more precious than great glory of folly.

Сeрдце мyдрагw њдеснyю є3гw2, сeрдце же безyмнагw њшyюю є3гw2:	A wise man's heart is at his right hand; but a fool's heart at his left.

и3 въ пyть є3гдA безyмный и4детъ, сeрдце є3гw2 лишaетсz, и3 ±же помышлsетъ, вс‰ безyміе сyть.	Yea, and whenever a fool walks by the way, his heart will fail him, and all that he thinks of is folly.

Ѓще дyхъ владёющагw взhдетъ на тS, мёста твоегw2 не њстaви: ћкw и3зцэлeніе ўтоли1тъ грэхи2 вели6ки.	If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for soothing will put an end to great offences.

Е$сть лукaвство, є4же ви1дэхъ под8 с0лнцемъ, ѓки нев0льно и3зhде t лицA владёющагw:	There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, wherein an error has proceeded from the ruler.

вдaнъ безyмный въ высwты2 вели6ки, ґ богaтіи во смирeнныхъ сsдутъ:	The fool has been set in very high places, while rich men would sit in a low one.

ви1дэхъ рабHвъ на к0нехъ, и3 кнzзeй и3дyщихъ ћкw рабHвъ на земли2.	I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants on the earth.
8	8
Копazй ћму впадeтъ въ ню2, и3 разорsющаго њгрaду ўгрhзнетъ є3го2 ѕмjй.	He that digs a pit shall fall into it; and him that breaks down a hedge a serpent shall bite.

И#з8eмлzй кaменіе поболи1тъ t ни1хъ, разсэцazй дровA бэдY пріи1метъ въ ни1хъ:	He that removes stones shall be troubled thereby; he that cleaves wood shall be endangered thereby.
10	10
ѓще спадeтъ сёчиво, и3 сaмъ лицeмъ смzтeтсz: и3 си6лы ўкрэпи1тъ, и3 и3з8oби1ліе мyжу мyдрость.	If the axe-head should fall off, then the man troubles his countenance, and he must put forth more strength: and in that case skill is of no advantage to a man.

Ѓще ўгрhзнетъ ѕмjй не въ шептЁ, и3 нёсть и3зли1шества њбавaющему.	If a serpent bite when there is no charmer's whisper, then there is no advantage to the charmer.

СловесA ќстъ премyдрагw благодaть, ўстнё же безyмнагw потопsтъ є3го2:	The words of a wise mouth are gracious: but the lips of a fool will swallow him up.
13	13
начaло словeсъ ќстъ є3гw2 безyміе, и3 послBднzz ќстъ є3гw2 прeлесть лукaва.	The beginning of the words of his mouth is folly: and the end of his talk mischievous madness.
14	14
Безyмный ўмножaетъ словесA: не разумЁ человёкъ, что2 бhвшее и3 что2 бyдущее, что2 созади2 є3гw2, (и3) кто2 возвэсти1тъ є3мY;	A fool moreover multiplies words: man knows not what has been, nor what will be: who shall tell him what will come after him?
15	15
Трyдъ безyмныхъ њѕл0битъ и5хъ, и4же не разумЁ и3ти2 во грaдъ.	The labour of fools will afflict them, as that of one who knows not to go to the city.
16	16
Г0ре тебЁ, грaде, въ нeмже цaрь тв0й ю4нъ, и3 кн‰зи твои2 рaнw kдsтъ.	Woe to thee, O city, whose king is young, and thy princes eat in the morning!
17	17
Блажeнна ты2, землE, є3sже цaрь тв0й сhнъ своб0дныхъ, и3 кн‰зи твои2 во врeмz kдsтъ въ си1лэ и3 не постыдsтсz.	Blessed art thou, O land, whose king is a son of nobles, and whose princes shall eat seasonably, for strength, and shall not be ashamed.

Въ лёностехъ смири1тсz стр0пъ, и3 въ прaзднествэ рyкъ прокaплетъ хрaмина.	By slothful neglect a building will be brought low: and by idleness of the hands the house will fall to pieces.
19	19
Во смёхъ творsтъ хлёбъ и3 віно2 и3 є3лeй, є4же весели1тисz живyщымъ: и3 сребрA со смирeніемъ послyшаютъ всsчєскаz.	Men prepare bread for laughter, and wine and oil that the living should rejoice: but to money all things will humbly yield obedience.

И# въ с0вэсти ќбw твоeй не клени2 царS, и3 въ клёти л0жницы твоеS не клени2 богaтаго: ћкw пти1ца небeснаz донесeтъ глaсъ тв0й, и3 и3мёzй крилB возвэсти1тъ сл0во твоE.	Even in thy conscience, curse not the king; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry thy voice, and that which has wings shall report thy speech.

Посли2 хлёбъ тв0й на лицE воды2, ћкw во мн0жествэ днjй њбрsщеши є3го2.	Send forth thy bread upon the face of the water: for thou shalt find it after many days.

Дaждь чaсть седми1мъ и3 nсми1мъ, ћкw не вёси, что2 бyдетъ лукaво на земли2.	Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil there shall be upon the earth.

Ѓще и3сп0лнzтсz w4блацы дождS, на зeмлю и3зливaютъ: и3 ѓще падeтъ дрeво на ю4гъ, и3 ѓще на сёверъ, на мёстэ, и3дёже падeтъ дрeво, тaмw бyдетъ.	If the clouds be filled with rain, they pour it out upon the earth: and if a tree fall southward, or if it fall northward, in the place where the tree shall fall, there it shall be.

Блюдhй вётра не сёетъ, и3 сматрszй во w4блацэхъ не п0жнетъ.	He that observes the wind sows not; and he that looks at the clouds will not reap.
5	5
Въ ни1хже нёсть вёдый, кjи пyть дyха, ћкоже кHсти во чрeвэ раждaющіz: тaкw не ўразумёеши дёлъ б9іихъ, є3ли6ка сотвори1тъ всsчєскаz.	Among whom none knows what is the way of the wind: as the bones are hid in the womb of a pregnant woman, so thou shalt not know the works of God, even all things whatsoever he shall do.

Въ заyтріи сёй сёмz твоE, и3 въ вeчеръ да не њставлsетъ рукA твоS: ћкw не вёси, к0е произhдетъ сіE и3ли2 џно, и3 ѓще nбоS вкyпэ благ†z.	In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening let not thine hand be slack: for thou knowest not what sort shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether both shall be good alike.

И# слaдко свётъ, и3 блaго nчи1ма зрёти с0лнце:	Moreover the light is sweet, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.
8	8
ћкw ѓще и3 мнHга лBта поживeтъ человёкъ, и3 њ всёхъ си1хъ возвесели1тсz, и3 помzнeтъ дни6 тмы2, ћкw мн0зи бyдутъ: всE грzдyщее суетA.	For even if a man should live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that comes is vanity.

Весели1сz, ю4ноше, во ю4ности твоeй, и3 да ўблажи1тъ тS сeрдце твоE во днeхъ ю4ности твоеS, и3 ходи2 въ путeхъ сeрдца твоегw2 непор0ченъ и3 не въ видёніи џчію твоє1ю: и3 разумёй, ћкw њ всёхъ си1хъ приведeтъ тS бGъ на сyдъ:	Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart blameless, but not in the sight of thine eyes: yet know that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

и3 tстaви ћрость t сeрдца твоегw2, и3 tри1ни лукaвство t пл0ти твоеS: ћкw ю4ность и3 безyміе суетA.	Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for youth and folly are vanity.

И# помzни2 сотв0ршаго тS во днeхъ ю4ности твоеS, д0ндеже не пріи1дутъ днjе ѕл0бы твоеS, и3 приспёютъ лBта, въ ни1хже речeши: нёсть ми2 въ ни1хъ хотёніz:	And remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the days of evil come, and the years overtake thee in which thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

д0ндеже не помeркнетъ с0лнце и3 свётъ, и3 лунA и3 ѕвёзды, и3 њбратsтсz w4блацы созади2 дождS:	While the sun and light are not darkened, nor the moon and the stars; nor the clouds return after the rain:

въ дeнь, въ џньже подви1гнутсz стрaжіе д0му, и3 развратsтсz мyжіе си1лы, и3 ўпразднsтсz мeлющіи, ћкw ўмaлишасz, и3 помрачaтсz зрsщіи во сквaжнехъ:	in the day wherein the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the mighty men shall become bent, and the grinding women cease because they have become few, and the women looking out at the windows be dark;

и3 затворsтъ двє1ри на т0ржищи, въ нeмощи глaса мeлющіz, и3 востaнетъ на глaсъ пти1цы, и3 смирsтсz вс‰ дщє1ри пёсни:	and they shall shut the doors in the market-place, because of the weakness of the voice of her that grinds at the mill; and he shall rise up at the voice of the sparrow, and all the daughters of song shall be brought low;

и3 на высотY ќзрzтъ, и3 ќжасъ на пути2, и3 процвэтeтъ ґмmгдaлъ, и3 њтолстёютъ прyзіе, и3 разруши1тсz каппарjсъ: ћкw tи1де человёкъ въ д0мъ вёка своегw2, и3 њбыд0ша на т0ржищи плaчущіи:	and they shall look up, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall blossom, and the locust shall increase, and the caper shall be scattered: because man has gone to his eternal home, and the mourners have gone about the market:

д0ндеже не преврати1тсz ќже срeбрzное, и3 не сокруши1тсz повsзка златaz, и3 сокруши1тсz водон0съ ў и3ст0чника, и3 сл0митсz колесо2 въ к0ліи.	before the silver cord be let go, or the choice gold be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel run down to the cistern;

И# возврати1тсz пeрсть въ зeмлю, ћкоже бЁ, и3 дyхъ возврати1тсz къ бGу, и4же дадE є3го2.	before the dust also return to the earth as it was, and the spirit return to God who gave it.

СуетA сyетствій, речE є3кклесіaстъ, всsчєскаz суетA.	Vanity of vanities, said the Preacher; all is vanity.
9	9
И# ли1шшее, ћкw бhсть є3кклесіaстъ мyдръ, и3 ћкw научи2 рaзуму человёка: и3 ќхо и3зслёдитъ красотY при1тчей.	And because the Preacher was wise above others, so it was that he taught man excellent knowledge, and the ear will trace out the parables.
10	10
Мн0гw взыскA є3кклесіaстъ, є4же њбрэсти2 словесA хотёніz, и3 напи1саное прaвости, словесA и4стины.	The Preacher sought diligently to find out acceptable words, and a correct writing, even words of truth.
11	11
СловесA мyдрыхъ ћкоже nстны2 вол0віи и3 ћкоже гв0здіе вонзeно, и5же t сложeній дaни бhша t пaстырz є3ди1нагw.	The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails firmly fastened, which have been given from one shepherd by agreement.
12	12
И# мн0жае t ни1хъ, сhне м0й, храни1сz: твори1ти кни6ги мнHги нёсть концA, и3 ўчeніе мн0гое трyдъ пл0ти.	And moreover, my son, guard thyself by means of them: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13	13
Конeцъ сл0ва, всE слyшай: бGа б0йсz и3 зaпwвэди є3гw2 храни2, ћкw сіE всsкъ человёкъ:	Hear the end of the matter, the sum: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole man.
14	14
ћкw всE творeніе приведeтъ бGъ на сyдъ њ всsцэмъ погрэшeніи, ѓще блaго и3 ѓще лукaво.	For God will bring every work into judgment, with everything that has been overlooked, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
