| въ трeтіе лёто цaрства своегw2, сотвори2 пи1ръ другHмъ и3 пр0чымъ kзhкwмъ, и3 пє1рсскимъ и3 ми6дскимъ сл†внымъ, и3 нач†лнымъ сатрaиwмъ, | in the third year of his reign, he made a feast to his friends, and the other nations, and to the nobles of the Persians and Medes, and the chief of the satraps. |
4

| и3 по си1хъ, є3гдA показA и5мъ богaтство цaрства своегw2 и3 слaву весeліz своегw2, во сто2 џсмьдесzтъ днjй. | And after this, after he had shewn to them the wealth of his kingdom, and the abundant glory of his wealth during a hundred and eighty days, |

| И# є3гдA и3сп0лнишасz днjе пи1ра, сотвори2 цaрь пи1ршество kзhкwмъ њбрётшымсz во грaдэ (сyсэхъ) на днjй шeсть во дворЁ д0му царeва, | when, I say, the days of the marriage feast were completed, the king made a banquet to the nations who were present in the city six days, in the court of the king's house, |

| ўкрaшеннэмъ вmсс0нными и3 зелeиыми завёсами, простeртыми на ќжахъ вmсс0нныхъ и3 червлени1чныхъ, на к0лцахъ златhхъ и3 срeбрzныхъ, на столпёхъ мрaморныхъ и3 кaменныхъ: | which was adorned with hangings of fine linen and flax on cords of fine linen and purple, fastened to golden and silver studs, on pillars of Parian marble and stone: there were golden and silver couches on a pavement of emerald stone, and of pearl, and of Parian stone, and open-worked coverings variously flowered, having roses worked round about; |

| лHжа зл†та и3 срє1брzна, на пом0стэ кaмене смарaгдова, и3 піннjнска и3 парjнска мрaмора, и3 плащани6цы пестротaми разли1чными разцвёчєны, w4крестъ шипцы2 разсёzни: | gold and silver cups, and a small cup of carbuncle set out of the value of thirty thousand talents, abundant and sweet wine, which the king himself drank. |

| сосyди злaти и3 срeбрzни, и3 чaша ґнfрaxа (кaмене) предложeннаz, цэн0ю тал†нтъ три1десzть тhсzщъ: віно2 мн0го и3 слaдко, є4же сaмъ цaрь піsше: питіe же сіE не по ўстaвленному зак0ну бhсть, тaкw бо восхотЁ цaрь и3 заповёда їкон0мwмъ сотвори1ти в0лю свою2 и3 мужeй. | And this banquet was not according to the appointed law; but so the king would have it: and he charged the stewards to perform his will and that of the company. |
9
9
| Also Astin the queen made a banquet for the women in the palace where king Artaxerxes dwelt. |
10
10
| Въ дeнь же седмhй развесели1всz цaрь, речE ґмaну и3 вазaну, и3 faррэ и3 варaзу, и3 заfолfaну и3 ґватaзу и3 fарaву, седми1мъ є3vнyхwмъ, и5же служaху пред8 царeмъ ґртаxeрxомъ, | Now on the seventh day the king, being merry, told Aman, and Bazan, and Tharrha, and Barazi, and Zatholtha, and Abataza, and Tharaba, the seven chamberlains, servants of king Artaxerxes, |
11

11
| привести2 (ґстjнь) цари1цу пред8 нег0, є4же воцари1ти ю5 и3 возложи1ти на ню2 вэнeцъ цaрскій и3 показaти ю5 всBмъ начaлствующымъ и3 kзhкwмъ красотY є3S, занE прекрaсна бЁ. | to bring in the queen to him, to enthrone her, and crown her with the diadem, and to shew her to the princes, and her beauty to the nations: for she was beautiful. |
12
12
| But queen Astin hearkened not to him to come with the chamberlains: so the king was grieved and angered. |
13
13
| And he said to his friends, Thus has Astin spoken: pronounce therefore upon this case law and judgment. |
14
14
2, | So Arkesæus, and Sarsathæus, and Malisear, the princes of the Persians and Medes, who were near the king, who sat chief in rank by the king, drew near to him, |
15
15
| and reported to him according to the laws how it was proper to do to queen Astin, because she had not done the things commanded of the king by the chamberlains. |
16
16
| И# речE мухeй ко царю2 и3 къ болsрwмъ: не царS є3ди1наго њби1дэ ґстjнь цари1ца, но и3 вс‰ кн‰зи и3 начaлники царє1вы, | And Muchæus said to the king and to the princes, Queen Astin has not wronged the king only, but also all the king's rulers and princes: |
17
17
2: | for he has told them the words of the queen, and how she disobeyed the king. As then, said he, she refused to obey king Artaxerxes, |
18
18
| ћкоже ўбw проти1внw речE царю2 ґртаxeрxу, си1це и3 днeсь госпwжи2 жєны2 пр0чыz кнzзeй пeрсскихъ и3 ми1дскихъ, ўслhшавшz царю2 речє1ннаz t неS, дерзнyтъ тaкожде безчeствовати мужeи свои1хъ: | so this day shall the other ladies of the chiefs of the Persians and Medes, having heard what she said to the king, dare in the same way to dishonour their husbands. |
19
19
3S: | If then it seem good to the king, let him make a royal decree, and let it be written according to the laws of the Medes and Persians, and let him not alter it: and let not the queen come in to him any more; and let the king give her royalty to a woman better than she. |
20
20
| и3 да бyдетъ ўслышанъ зак0нъ, и4же t царS, є3г0же сотвори1тъ во цaрствіи своeмъ, и3 си1це вс‰ жєны2 возложaтъ чeсть на мyжы сво‰ t богaта дaже до ўб0га. | And let the law of the king which he shall have made, be widely proclaimed, in his kingdom: and so shall all the women give honour to their husbands, from the poor even to the rich. |
21
21
| И# ўг0дно бhсть сл0во пред8 царeмъ и3 нач†лники, и3 сотвори2 цaрь, ћкоже речE є3мY мухeй, | And the saying pleased the king and the princes; and the king did as Muchæus had said, |
22
22
| и3 послA цaрь кни6ги во всE цaрство по странaмъ по љзhку и4хъ, да бyдетъ стрaхъ и5мъ въ жили1щихъ и4хъ. | and sent into all his kingdom through the several provinces, according to their language, in order that men might be feared in their own houses. |

| И# по словесёхъ си1хъ ўтоли1сz цaрь t гнёва, и3 не воспомzнY ктомY ґстjни, воспоминaz, є3ли6ка глаг0ла и3 кaкw њсуди2 є3S. | And after this the king's anger was pacified, and he no more mentioned Astin, bearing in mind what she had said, and how he had condemned her. |
2
2
| И# рёша слуги6 царє1вы: да и3зhщутсz царю2 дэви6цы нерастлBнны, красны6 зрaкомъ, и3 да постaвитъ цaрь взыскaтєли во всёхъ странaхъ цaрствіz своегw2, | Then the servants of the king said, Let there be sought for the king chaste and beautiful young virgins. |
3
3
| и3 да и3зберyтъ nтрокови1цъ дёвственныхъ доброзрaчныхъ въ сyсы грaдъ, въ черт0гъ жeнскій, и3 да tдадyтсz є3vнyхови царeву стрaжу жeнъ, и3 да дадyтсz м†сти и3 пр0чыz потрє1бы: | And let the king appoint local governors in all the provinces of his kingdom, and let them select fair and chaste young damsels and bring them to the city Susa, into the women's apartment, and let them be consigned to the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women; and let things for purification and other attendance be given to them. |
4
4
| And let the woman who shall please the king be queen instead of Astin. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so. |
5
5
| И# мyжъ бЁ їудeанинъ во грaдэ сyсэхъ, и3 и4мz є3мY мардохeй сhнъ їаjровъ, сhна семeина, сhна кісeова, t плeмене веніамjнz, | Now there was a Jew in the city Susa, and his name was Mardochæus, the son of Jairus, the son of Semeias, the son of Cisæus, of the tribe of Benjamin; |
6
6
| и4же бsше плэнeнъ t їеcрли1ма навуходон0соромъ царeмъ вавmлHнскимъ: | who had been brought a prisoner from Jerusalem, which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried into captivity. |
7
7
| и3 бsше є3мY nтрокови1ца воспитaна, дщeрь ґмінадaва брaта nтцY є3гw2, и3 и4мz є4й є3сfи1рь. | And he had a foster-child, daughter of Aminadab his father's brother, and her name was Esther; and when her parents were dead, he brought her up for a wife for himself: and the damsel was beautiful. |
8
8
| И# є3гдA ўслhшано бhсть повелёніе царeво, сHбраны бhша дэви6цы мнHги во грaдъ сyсы, под8 рyку гaіеву, и3 приведенA бhсть є3сfи1рь ко гaію храни1телю жeнъ: | And because the king's ordinance was published, many damsels were gathered to the city Susa under the hand of Gai; and Esther was brought to Gai the keeper of the women. |
9
9
| и3 ўг0дна бhсть є3мY nтрокови1ца и3 њкрёте благодaть пред8 ни1мъ: и3 потщaсz дaти є4й м†сти и3 ўчaстіе, и3 сeдмь дэви1цъ пристaви къ нeй и3з8 д0му царeва, и3 снабдэвaше ю5 и3 рабhнь є3S д0брэ въ домY жeнстэмъ. | And the damsel pleased him, and she found favour in his sight; and he hasted to give her the things for purification, and her portion, and the seven maidens appointed her out of the palace: and he treated her and her maidens well in the women's apartment. |
10
10
| But Esther discovered not her family nor her kindred: for Mardochæus had charged her not to tell. |
11
11
| But Mardochæus used to walk every day by the women's court, to see what would become of Esther. |
12
12
| Сіe же бЁ врeмz дэви1цъ входи1ти ко царю2, є3гдA и3сп0лнzтсz дванaдесzть мцcей: тaкw бо наполнsхусz днjе ўкрашeніz, шeсть мцcъ во ґрwмaтэхъ и3 въ мaстехъ жeнскихъ, и3 шeсть мцcъ намазyющzсz смЂрновымъ є3лeемъ, | Now this was the time for a virgin to go in to the king, when she should have fulfilled twelve months; for so are the days of purification fulfilled, six months while they are anointing themselves with oil of myrrh, and six months with spices and women's purifications. |
13
13
| и3 тогдA вхождaху ко царeви: и3 є3мyже ѓще речeтъ привести2 ю5, вх0дитъ съ ни1мъ кyпнw и3з8 д0му жeнскагw дaже до д0му царeва: | And then the damsel goes in to the king; and the officer to whomsoever he shall give the command, will bring her to come in with him from the women's apartment to the king's chamber. |
14
14
| на вeчеръ вхождaше и3 заyтра возвращaшесz въ д0мъ жeнскій вторhй, и3дёже гaй є3vнyхъ царeвъ храни1тель жeнъ, и3 не вхождaше пaки ко царю2, ѓще не бyдетъ позванA и4менемъ. | She enters in the evening, and in the morning she departs to the second women's apartment, where Gai the king's chamberlain is keeper of the women: and she goes not in to the king again, unless she should be called by name. |
15
15
| Е#гдa же и3сп0лнисz врeмz є3сfи1ри дщeри ґмінадaва, брaта nтцA мардохeова, (и4же поsлъ ю5 себЁ въ дщeре мёсто,) вни1ти ко царeви, ничт0же преступи2 t си1хъ, ±же заповёда є4й є3vнyхъ храни1тель жeнъ: бё бо є3сfи1рь њбрэтaющаz благодaть пред8 всёми зрsщими ю5. | And when the time was fulfilled for Esther the daughter of Aminadab the brother of Mardochæus' father to go in to the king, she neglected nothing which the chamberlain, the women's keeper, commanded; for Esther found grace in the sight of all that looked upon her. |
16
16
| И# вни1де є3сfи1рь ко царю2 ґртаxeрxу во вторыйнaдесzть мцcъ, и4же є4сть ґдaръ, въ лёто седм0е цaрства є3гw2. | So Esther went in to king Artaxerxes in the twelfth month, which is Adar, in the seventh year of his reign. |
17
17
| И# возлюби2 цaрь є3сfи1рь, и3 њбрёте благодaть пaче всёхъ дэви1цъ, и3 возложи2 вэнeцъ жeнскій на главY є3S. | And the king loved Esther, and she found favour beyond all the other virgins: and he put on her the queen's crown. |
18
18
| И# сотвори2 цaрь пи1ръ всBмъ другHмъ свои6мъ и3 си1ламъ сeдмь днjй, и3 вознесE брaкъ є3сfи1ринъ, и3 сотвори2 tрaду сyщымъ во цaрствіи є3гw2. | And the king made a banquet for all his friends and great men for seven days, and he highly celebrated the marriage of Esther; and he made a release to those who were under his dominion. |
19
19
| But Mardochæus served in the palace. |
20
20
| Now Esther had not discovered her kindred; for so Mardochæus commanded her, to fear God, and perform his commandments, as when she was with him: and Esther changed not her manner of life. |
21
21
| И# њпечaлистасz двA є3vн{ха царє1ва начaлнэйшіи стрaжы тёла є3гw2, ћкw предпочтeнъ бhсть мардохeй, и3 и3скaста ўби1ти ґртаxeрxа царS. | And two chamberlains of the king, the chiefs of the body-guard, were grieved, because Mardochæus was promoted; and they sought to kill king Artaxerxes. |
22
22
| И# возвэсти1сz сл0во мардохeю, и3 сказA є3сfи1ри: nнa же повёда царю2, ±же навётуютъ. | And the matter was discovered to Mardochæus, and he made it known to Esther, and she declared to the king the matter of the conspiracy. |
23
23
И# повелЁ цaрь вписaти на пaмzть въ цaрстэй книгохрани1телницэ њ благодэsніи мардохeовэ въ похвалY. | And the king examined the two chamberlains, and hanged them: and the king gave orders to make a note for a memorial in the royal records of the good offices of Mardochæus, as a commendation. |

| И# по си1хъ прослaви цaрь ґртаxeрxъ ґмaна сhна ґмадаfyина вугeанина и3 вознесE є3го2, и3 предсэдsше вhшше всёхъ другHвъ є3гw2: | And after this king Artaxerxes highly honoured Aman son of Amadathes, the Bugæan, and exalted him, and set his seat above all his friends. |
2
2
Y. | And all in the palace did him obeisance, for so the king had given orders to do: but Mardochæus did not do him obeisance. |
3
3
S; | And they in the king's palace said to Mardochæus, Mardochæus, why dost thou transgress the commands of the king? |
4
4
| Thus they spoke daily to him, but he hearkened not unto them; so they represented to Aman that Mardochæus resisted the commands of the king: and Mardochæus had shewn to them that he was a Jew. |
5
5
| И# ўвёдавъ ґмaнъ, ћкw не клaнzетсz є3мY мардохeи, разгнёвасz ѕэлw2 | And when Aman understood that Mardochæus did not obeisance to him, he was greatly enraged, |

| и3 ўмhсли погуби1ти вс‰ їудє1и, и5же въ цaрствэ ґртаxeрxовэ: | and took counsel to destroy utterly all the Jews who were under the rule of Artaxerxes. |
7
7
| и3 сотвори2 совётъ въ лёто второенaдесzть цaрства ґртаxeрxова, и3 метaше жрє1біz дeнь t днE и3 мцcъ t мцcа, ћкw погуби1ти во є3ди1нъ дeнь р0дъ мардохeевъ: и3 падE жрeбій на четвертыйнaдесzть дeнь мцcа, и4же є4сть ґдаръ. | And he made a decree in the twelfth year of the reign of Artaxerxes, and cast lots daily and monthly, to slay in one day the race of Mardochæus: and the lot fell on the fourteenth day of the month which is Adar. |

| И# речE цaрь ко є3сfи1ри: и3зби1ша їудeє въ сyсэъ грaдэ пsть сHтъ мужeй, по њкрє1стнымъ же странaмъ коли1кw, мни1ши, погуби1ша; и3 чесогw2 є3щE проси1ши, и3 бyдетъ ти2; | And the king said to Esther, The Jews have slain five hundred men in the city Susa; and how, thinkest thou, have they used them in the rest of the country? What then dost thou yet ask, that it may be done for thee? |
13
13
| И# речE є3сfи1рь ко царю2: да дaстсz тaкожде їудewмъ твори1ти заyтра, ћкw да повёсzтъ дeсzть сынHвъ ґмaновыхъ. | And Esther said to the king, Let it be granted to the Jews so to treat them to-morrow as to hang the ten sons of Aman. |

| И# повелЁ цaрь тaкw бhти, и3 попусти2 їудewмъ внЁ грaда повёсити тэлесA сынHвъ ґмaновыхъ. | And he permitted it to be so done; and he gave up to the Jews of the city the bodies of the sons of Aman to hang. |

| И# собрaшасz їудeє, и5же въ сyсэхъ, въ четвертыйнaдесzть деeнь ґдaра, и3 и3зби1ша мужeй три1ста, и3 ничт0же разгрaбиша. | And the Jews assembled in Susa on the fourteenth day of Adar, and slew three hundred men, but plundered no property. |
16

| Пр0чіи же їудeє, и5же во цaрствіи, собрaшасz и3 себЁ помогaху и3 почи1ша t брaней: и3зби1ша бо t ни1хъ пzтьнaдесzть тhсzщъ въ третійнaдесzть ґдaра, и3 ничт0же расхи1тиша. | And the rest of the Jews who were in the kingdom assembled, and helped one another, and obtained rest from their enemies: for they destroyed fifteen thousand of them on the thirteenth day of Adar, but took no spoil. |
17
17
| И# почи1ша въ четвертыйнaдесzть дeнь тогHжде мцcа и3 провождaху т0й дeнь ўпокоeніz съ рaдостію и3 весeліемъ. | And they rested on the fourteenth of the same month, and kept it as a day of rest with joy and gladness. |

18
| Їудeє же въ сyсэхъ грaдэ собрaшасz и3 въ четвертыйнaдесzть почи1ша: проводи1ша же и3 пzтыйнaдесzть съ рaдостію и3 весeліемъ. | And the Jews in the city Susa assembled also on the fourteenth day and rested; and they kept also the fifteenth with joy and gladness. |

27

| Ўстaви ќбw, и3 тaкw пріsша їудeє на себE и3 на сёмz своE и3 на ириложи1вшихсz къ ни6мъ, нижE и3нaче да ўпотреблsютъ: днjе же сjи пaмzти совершaеми по р0ду и3 р0ду, и3 грaду и3 nтeчеству и3 странЁ. | And Mardochæus established it, and the Jews took upon themselves, and upon their seed, and upon those that were joined to them to observe it, neither would they on any account behave differently: but these days were to be a memorial kept in every generation, and city, and family, and province. |
28
28
| Днjе же сjи фурjмъ да провождaютъ во всsкое лёто, и3 пaмzть да не њскудёетъ t родHбъ. | And these days of the Phruræ, said they, shall be kept for ever, and their memorial shall not fail in any generation. |
