Chapter 2
1
1
И҆ ва́съ сꙋ́щихъ прегрѣше́ньми ме́ртвыхъ и҆ грѣхи̑ ва́шими, And you did he make alive, when ye were dead in trespasses and sins,
2
2
въ ни́хже и҆ногда̀ ходи́сте по вѣ́кꙋ мі́ра сегѡ̀, по кнѧ́зю вла́сти воздꙋ́шныѧ, дꙋ́ха, и҆́же нн҃ѣ дѣ́йствꙋетъ въ сынѣ́хъ противле́нїѧ, wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience;
3
3
въ ни́хже и҆ мы̀ всѝ жи́хомъ и҆ногда̀ въ по́хотехъ пло́ти на́шеѧ, творѧ́ще во́лю пло́ти и҆ помышле́нїй, и҆ бѣ́хомъ є҆стество́мъ ча̑да гнѣ́ва, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ про́чїи: among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest—
4
4
(Заⷱ҇ ©к҃.) бг҃ъ же, бога́тъ сы́й въ млⷭ҇ти, за премно́гꙋю любо́вь свою̀, є҆́юже возлюбѝ на́съ, but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5
5
и҆ сꙋ́щихъ на́съ ме́ртвыхъ прегрѣше́ньми, соѡживѝ хрⷭ҇то́мъ: блгⷣтїю є҆стѐ спасе́ни: even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace have ye been saved),
6
6
и҆ съ ни́мъ воскр҃сѝ, и҆ спосадѝ на нбⷭ҇ныхъ во хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ, and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus:
7
7
да ꙗ҆ви́тъ въ вѣ́цѣхъ грѧдꙋ́щихъ преѕѣ́лное бога́тство блгⷣти своеѧ̀ бл҃госты́нею на на́съ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ. that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus:
8
8
Блгⷣтїю бо є҆стѐ спасе́ни чрез̾ вѣ́рꙋ: и҆ сїѐ не ѿ ва́съ, бж҃їй да́ръ: for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9
9
не ѿ дѣ́лъ, да никто́же похва́литсѧ. not of works, that no man should glory.
10
10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.
11
11
(Заⷱ҇.) Тѣ́мже помина́йте, ꙗ҆́кѡ вы̀, и҆̀же и҆ногда̀ ꙗ҆зы́цы во пло́ти, глаго́лемїи неѡбрѣ́занїе ѿ реко́магѡ ѡ҆брѣ́занїѧ во пло́ти, рꙋкотворе́ннагѡ, Wherefore remember that ye, once Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;
12
12
ꙗ҆́кѡ бѣ́сте во вре́мѧ ѻ҆́но без̾ хрⷭ҇та̀, ѿчꙋжде́ни житїѧ̀ і҆и҃лева и҆ чꙋ́жди ѿ завѣ̑тъ ѡ҆бѣтова́нїѧ, оу҆пова́нїѧ не и҆мꙋ́ще и҆ безбо́жни въ мі́рѣ: that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
13
13
нн҃ѣ же ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ вы̀, бы́вшїи и҆ногда̀ дале́че, бли́з̾ бы́сте кро́вїю хрⷭ҇то́вою. But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far off are made nigh in the blood of Christ.
14
14
For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the middle wall of partition,
15
15
враждꙋ̀ пл҃тїю свое́ю, зако́нъ за́повѣдїй оу҆че́ньми оу҆праздни́въ, да ѻ҆́ба сози́ждетъ собо́ю во є҆ди́наго но́ваго человѣ́ка, творѧ̀ ми́ръ, having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two one new man, so making peace;
16
16
и҆ примири́тъ ѻ҆бои́хъ во є҆ди́нѣмъ тѣ́лѣ бг҃ови крⷭ҇то́мъ, оу҆би́въ враждꙋ̀ на не́мъ: and might reconcile them both in one body unto God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17
17
и҆ прише́дъ благовѣстѝ ми́ръ ва́мъ, да̑льнимъ и҆ бли̑жнимъ, and he came and preached peace to you that were far off, and to them that were nigh:
18
18
занѐ тѣ́мъ и҆́мамы приведе́нїе ѻ҆́бои во є҆ди́нѣмъ д©ѣ ко ѻ҆ц҃ꙋ̀. for through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father.
19
19
(Заⷱ҇ ©к҃в҃.) Тѣ́мже оу҆̀бо ктомꙋ̀ нѣ́сте стра́нни и҆ прише́лцы, но сожи́телє ст҃ы̑мъ и҆ прⷭ҇нїи бг҃ꙋ, So then ye are no more strangers and sojourners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
20
20
назда́ни бы́вше на ѡ҆снова́нїи а҆пⷭ҇лъ и҆ прⷪ҇рѡ́къ, сꙋ́щꙋ краеꙋго́лнꙋ самомꙋ̀ і҆и҃сꙋ хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀, being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone;
21
21
ѡ҆ не́мже всѧ́ко созда́нїе составлѧ́емо расте́тъ въ цр҃ковь ст҃ꙋ́ю ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ: in whom each several building, fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord;
22
22
ѡ҆ не́мже и҆ вы̀ созида́етесѧ въ жили́ще бж҃їе дх҃омъ. in whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
