|
| Лꙋ́чше безча́дство со добродѣ́телїю: безсме́ртїе бо є҆́сть въ па́мѧти є҆ѧ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆ пред̾ бг҃омъ позна́етсѧ и҆ пред̾ человѣ̑ки: | Better it is to have no children, and to have virtue: for the memorial thereof is immortal: because it is known with God, and with men. |

| присꙋ́щꙋю бо подража́ютъ ю҆̀ и҆ жела́ютъ ѿше́дшїѧ, и҆ въ вѣ́цѣ вѣнцено́снѡ чти́тсѧ нескве́рныхъ по́двигѡвъ бра́нь ѡ҆долѣ́вши. | When it is present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a crown, and triumpheth for ever, having gotten the victory, striving for undefiled rewards. |

| Многопло́дно же нечести́выхъ мно́жество неключи́мо бꙋ́детъ, и҆ прелюбодѣ̑йнаѧ насаждє́нїѧ не дадꙋ́тъ коре́нїѧ въ глꙋбинꙋ̀, нижѐ крѣ́пко стоѧ́нїе сотворѧ́тъ: | But the multiplying brood of the ungodly shall not thrive, nor take deep rooting from bastard slips, nor lay any fast foundation. |

| а҆́ще бо и҆ вѣ̑тви на вре́мѧ процвѣтꙋ́тъ, не крѣ́пкѡ возше́дше ѿ вѣ́тра поколе́блютсѧ и҆ ѿ ѕѣ́лныхъ вѣ́трѡвъ и҆скоренѧ́тсѧ: | For though they flourish in branches for a time; yet standing not fast, they shall be shaken with the wind, and through the force of winds they shall be rooted out. |

| сокрꙋша́тсѧ вѣ̑тви несовершє́нны, и҆ пло́дъ и҆́хъ неключи́мь, ѡ҆ско́менъ въ снѣ́дь, и҆ ни во что̀ потре́бенъ. | The imperfect branches shall be broken off, their fruit unprofitable, not ripe to eat, yea, meet for nothing. |

| Ѿ беззако́нныхъ бо снѡ́въ ча̑да ражда́ємаѧ свидѣ́телїе сꙋ́ть лꙋка́вствїѧ на роди́тєли во и҆спыта́нїи и҆́хъ. | For children begotten of unlawful beds are witnesses of wickedness against their parents in their trial. |

| Првⷣникъ же а҆́ще пости́гнетъ сконча́тисѧ, въ поко́и бꙋ́детъ: | But though the righteous be prevented with death, yet shall he be in rest. |
|

|
| ста́рость бо честна̀ не многолѣ́тна, нижѐ въ числѣ̀ лѣ́тъ и҆зчита́етсѧ: | For honourable age is not that which standeth in length of time, nor that is measured by number of years. |
|

|
| сѣди́на же є҆́сть мꙋ́дрость человѣ́кѡмъ, и҆ во́зрастъ ста́рости житїѐ нескве́рно. | But wisdom is the grey hair unto men, and an unspotted life is old age. |
|

| Бл҃гоꙋго́денъ бг҃ови бы́въ, возлю́бленъ бы́сть, и҆ живы́й посредѣ̀ грѣ́шныхъ преста́вленъ бы́сть: | He pleased God, and was beloved of him: so that living among sinners he was translated. |

| восхище́нъ бы́сть, да не ѕло́ба и҆змѣни́тъ ра́зꙋмъ є҆гѡ̀, и҆лѝ ле́сть прельсти́тъ дꙋ́шꙋ є҆гѡ̀. | Yea, speedily was he taken away, lest that wickedness should alter his understanding, or deceit beguile his soul. |

| Раче́нїе бо ѕло́бы помрача́етъ дѡ́браѧ, и҆ паре́нїе по́хоти премѣнѧ́етъ оу҆́мъ неѕло́бивъ. | For the bewitching of naughtiness doth obscure things that are honest; and the wandering of concupiscence doth undermine the simple mind. |

| Сконча́всѧ вма́лѣ и҆спо́лни лѣ̑та дѡ́лга: | He, being made perfect in a short time, fulfilled a long time: |

| оу҆го́дна бо бѣ̀ гдⷭ҇еви дꙋша̀ є҆гѡ̀, сегѡ̀ ра́ди потща́сѧ ѿ среды̀ лꙋка́вствїѧ: | for his soul pleased the Lord: therefore hasted he to take him away from among the wicked. |

| лю́дїе же ви́дѣвше и҆ не разꙋмѣ́вше, нижѐ поло́жше въ помышле́нїи таково́е, ꙗ҆́кѡ блгⷣть и҆ млⷭ҇ть въ прпⷣбныхъ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ посѣще́нїе во и҆збра́нныхъ є҆гѡ̀. | This the people saw, and understood not, neither laid they up this in their minds, That his grace and mercy is with his saints, and that he hath respect unto his chosen. |

| Ѡ҆сꙋ́дитъ же првⷣникъ оу҆мира́ѧй живы́хъ нечести́выхъ, и҆ ю҆́ность сконча́вшаѧсѧ ско́рѡ долголѣ́тнꙋю ста́рость непра́веднагѡ. | Thus the righteous that is dead shall condemn the ungodly which are living; and youth that is soon perfected the many years and old age of the unrighteous. |

| Оу҆́ зрѧтъ бо кончи́нꙋ премꙋ́драгѡ и҆ не оу҆разꙋмѣ́ютъ, что̀ оу҆совѣ́това ѡ҆ не́мъ и҆ во что̀ оу҆твердѝ є҆го̀ гдⷭ҇ь: | For they shall see the end of the wise, and shall not understand what God in his counsel hath decreed of him, and to what end the Lord hath set him in safety. |

| оу҆́зрѧтъ и҆ оу҆ничижа́тъ є҆го̀, гдⷭ҇ь же посмѣе́тсѧ и҆̀мъ: | They shall see him, and despise him; but God shall laugh them to scorn; and they shall hereafter be a vile carcase, and a reproach among the dead for evermore. |

| и҆ бꙋ́дꙋтъ посе́мъ въ паде́нїе безче́стно и҆ во оу҆кори́знꙋ въ ме́ртвыхъ въ вѣ́къ: ꙗ҆́кѡ расто́ргнетъ и҆̀хъ безгла̑сны ни́цъ и҆ поколе́блетъ и҆̀хъ ѿ ѡ҆снова́нїй, и҆ да́же до послѣ́днихъ ѡ҆пꙋстѣ́ютъ и҆ бꙋ́дꙋтъ въ болѣ́зни, и҆ па́мѧть и҆̀хъ поги́бнетъ: | For he shall rend them, and cast them down headlong, that they shall be speechless; and he shall shake them from the foundation; and they shall be utterly laid waste, and be in sorrow; and their memorial shall perish. |

| прїи́дꙋтъ въ помышле́нїе грѣхѡ́въ свои́хъ боѧзли́вїи, и҆ ѡ҆блича́тъ и҆̀хъ проти́вꙋ беззакѡ́нїѧ и҆́хъ. | And when they cast up the account of their sins, they shall come with fear: and their own iniquities shall convince them to their face. |
