I thank my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus; Благодарю̀ бг҃а моего̀ всегда̀ ѡ҆ ва́съ, ѡ҆ блгⷣти бж҃їей да́ннѣй ва́мъ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ,

that in everything ye were enriched in him, in all utterance and all knowledge; ꙗ҆́кѡ во все́мъ ѡ҆богати́стесѧ ѡ҆ не́мъ, во всѧ́цѣмъ сло́вѣ и҆ всѧ́цѣмъ ра́зꙋмѣ,

even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: ꙗ҆́коже свидѣ́телство хрⷭ҇то́во и҆звѣсти́сѧ въ ва́съ:

so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ; ꙗ҆́кѡ ва́мъ не лиши́тисѧ ни во є҆ди́нѣмъ дарова́нїи, ча́ющымъ ѿкрове́нїѧ гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀,

who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye be unreprovable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. и҆́же и҆ оу҆тверди́тъ ва́съ да́же до конца̀ непови́нныхъ въ де́нь гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀.

God is faithful, through whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Вѣ́ренъ бг҃ъ, и҆́мже зва́ни бы́сте во ѻ҆бще́нїе сн҃а є҆гѡ̀ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀, гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ.

Now I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃д҃.) Молю́ же вы̀, бра́тїе, и҆́менемъ гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀, да то́жде глаго́лете всѝ, и҆ да не бꙋ́дꙋтъ въ ва́съ ра̑спри, да бꙋ́дете же оу҆твержде́ни въ то́мже разꙋмѣ́нїи и҆ въ то́йже мы́сли.

For it hath been signified unto me concerning you, my brethren, by them that are of the household of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. Возвѣсти́сѧ бо мѝ ѡ҆ ва́съ, бра́тїе моѧ̑, (пѡ́сланнымъ) ѿ хло́иса [ѿ дома́шнихъ хло́иса], ꙗ҆́кѡ рвє́нїѧ въ ва́съ сꙋ́ть.

Now this I mean, that each one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Глаго́лю же сѐ, ꙗ҆́кѡ кі́йждо ва́съ глаго́летъ: а҆́зъ оу҆́бѡ є҆́смь па́ѵловъ, а҆́зъ же а҆поллѡ́совъ, а҆́зъ же ки́финъ, а҆́зъ же хрⷭ҇то́въ.

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized into the name of Paul? Є҆да̀ раздѣли́сѧ хрⷭ҇то́съ, є҆да̀ па́ѵелъ распѧ́тсѧ по ва́съ; и҆лѝ во и҆́мѧ па́ѵлово крести́стесѧ;

I thank God that I baptized none of you, save Crispus and Gaius; Благодарю̀ бг҃а, ꙗ҆́кѡ ни є҆ди́наго ѿ ва́съ крести́хъ, то́чїю крі́спа и҆ га́їа,

lest any man should say that I had baptized into mine own name. да не кто̀ рече́тъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ въ моѐ и҆́мѧ крести́хъ.

And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. Крести́хъ же и҆ стефани́новъ до́мъ: про́чее не вѣ́мъ, а҆́ще кого̀ и҆но́го крести́хъ.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not in wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made void. Не посла́ бо менѐ хрⷭ҇то́съ крести́ти, но благовѣсти́ти, не въ премꙋ́дрости сло́ва, да не и҆спраздни́тсѧ крⷭ҇тъ хрⷭ҇то́въ.

For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it is the power of God. (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃е҃.) Сло́во бо крⷭ҇тное погиба́ющымъ оу҆́бѡ ю҆ро́дство є҆́сть, а҆ спаса́ємымъ на́мъ си́ла бж҃їѧ є҆́сть.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the discernment of the discerning will I bring to nought. Пи́сано бо є҆́сть: погꙋблю̀ премꙋ́дрость премꙋ́дрыхъ, и҆ ра́зꙋмъ разꙋ́мныхъ ѿве́ргꙋ.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? Гдѣ̀ премꙋ́дръ; гдѣ̀ кни́жникъ; гдѣ̀ совопро́сникъ вѣ́ка сегѡ̀; Не ѡ҆бꙋи́ ли бг҃ъ премꙋ́дрость мі́ра сегѡ̀;

For seeing that in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom knew not God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save them that believe. Поне́же бо въ премⷣрости бж҃їей не разꙋмѣ̀ мі́ръ премꙋ́дростїю бг҃а, бл҃гоизво́лилъ бг҃ъ бꙋ́йствомъ про́повѣди спⷭ҇тѝ вѣ́рꙋющихъ.

Seeing that Jews ask for a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom: Поне́же и҆ і҆ꙋде́є зна́менїѧ про́сѧтъ, и҆ є҆́ллини премꙋ́дрости и҆́щꙋтъ:

but we preach Christ crucified, unto Jews a stumbling block, and unto Greeks foolishness; мы́ же проповѣ́дꙋемъ хрⷭ҇та̀ ра́спѧта, і҆ꙋде́ємъ оу҆́бѡ собла́знъ, є҆́ллинѡмъ же безꙋ́мїе,

but unto them that are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. самѣ̑мъ же зва̑ннымъ і҆ꙋде́ємъ же и҆ є҆́ллинѡмъ хрⷭ҇та̀, бж҃їю си́лꙋ и҆ бж҃їю премⷣрость:

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. занѐ бꙋ́ее бж҃їе премⷣрѣе человѣ̑къ є҆́сть, и҆ немощно́е бж҃їе крѣпча́е человѣ̑къ є҆́сть.

For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: (Заⷱ҇.) Ви́дите бо зва́нїе ва́ше, бра́тїе, ꙗ҆́кѡ не мно́зи премꙋ́дри по пло́ти, не мно́зи си́льни, не мно́зи благоро́дни:

but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; но бꙋ̑ѧѧ мі́ра и҆збра̀ бг҃ъ, да премꙋ̑дрыѧ посрами́тъ, и҆ не́мѡщнаѧ мі́ра и҆збра̀ бг҃ъ, да посрами́тъ крѣ̑пкаѧ:

and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are: и҆ хꙋдорѡ́днаѧ мі́ра и҆ оу҆ничижє́ннаѧ и҆збра̀ бг҃ъ, и҆ не сꙋ̑щаѧ, да сꙋ̑щаѧ оу҆праздни́тъ,

that no flesh should glory before God. ꙗ҆́кѡ да не похва́литсѧ всѧ́ка пло́ть пред̾ бг҃омъ.

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who was made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption: И҆з̾ негѡ́же вы̀ є҆стѐ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ, и҆́же бы́сть на́мъ премⷣрость ѿ бг҃а, пра́вда же и҆ ѡ҆сщ҃е́нїе и҆ и҆збавле́нїе,

that, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. да, ꙗ҆́коже пи́шетсѧ: хвалѧ́йсѧ, ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ да хва́литсѧ.
Chapter 2
Глава́ в҃
1
1
And I, brethren, when I came unto you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God. И҆ а҆́зъ прише́дъ къ ва́мъ, бра́тїе, прїидо́хъ не по превосхо́дномꙋ словесѝ и҆лѝ премꙋ́дрости возвѣща́ѧ ва́мъ свидѣ́телство бж҃їе:

For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. не сꙋди́хъ бо вѣ́дѣти что̀ въ ва́съ, то́чїю і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀, и҆ сего̀ ра́спѧта:

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. и҆ а҆́зъ въ не́мощи и҆ стра́сѣ и҆ тре́петѣ мно́зѣ бы́хъ въ ва́съ.
4

And my speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: И҆ сло́во моѐ и҆ про́повѣдь моѧ̀ не въ препрѣ́телныхъ человѣ́ческїѧ премꙋ́дрости словесѣ́хъ, но въ ꙗ҆вле́нїи дꙋ́ха и҆ си́лы,

that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. да вѣ́ра ва́ша не въ мꙋ́дрости человѣ́честѣй, но въ си́лѣ бж҃їей бꙋ́детъ.

We speak wisdom, however, among them that are full-grown: yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nought: (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃ѕ҃.) Премⷣрость же глаго́лемъ въ соверше́нныхъ, премⷣрость же не вѣ́ка сегѡ̀, ни кнѧзе́й вѣ́ка сегѡ̀ престаю́щихъ,

but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the wisdom that hath been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds unto our glory: но глаго́лемъ премⷣрость бж҃їю, въ та́йнѣ сокрове́ннꙋю, ю҆́же пред̾ꙋста́ви бг҃ъ пре́жде вѣ̑къ въ сла́вꙋ на́шꙋ,

which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory: ю҆́же никто́же ѿ кнѧзе́й вѣ́ка сегѡ̀ разꙋмѣ̀: а҆́ще бо бы́ша разꙋмѣ́ли, не бы́ша гдⷭ҇а сла́вы ра́спѧли.

but as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, The things which God prepared for them that love him. Но ꙗ҆́коже є҆́сть пи́сано: (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃з҃.) и҆́хже ѻ҆́ко не ви́дѣ, и҆ оу҆́хо не слы́ша, и҆ на се́рдце человѣ́кꙋ не взыдо́ша, ꙗ҆̀же оу҆гото́ва бг҃ъ лю́бѧщымъ є҆го̀.

But unto us God revealed them through his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. На́мъ же бг҃ъ ѿкры́лъ є҆́сть дх҃омъ свои́мъ: дх҃ъ бо всѧ̑ и҆спытꙋ́етъ, и҆ глꙋбины̑ бж҃їѧ.

For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God. Кто́ бо вѣ́сть ѿ человѣ̑къ, ꙗ҆̀же въ человѣ́цѣ, то́чїю дꙋ́хъ человѣ́ка, живꙋ́щїй въ не́мъ; Та́кожде и҆ бж҃їѧ никто́же вѣ́сть, то́чїю дх҃ъ бж҃їй.

But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. Мы́ же не дꙋ́ха мі́ра сегѡ̀ прїѧ́хомъ, но дх҃а и҆́же ѿ бг҃а, да вѣ́мы ꙗ҆̀же ѿ бг҃а дарова̑ннаѧ на́мъ,

Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words. ꙗ҆̀же и҆ глаго́лемъ не въ наꙋче́ныхъ человѣ́ческїѧ премꙋ́дрости словесѣ́хъ, но въ наꙋче́ныхъ дх҃а ст҃а́гѡ, дꙋхѡ́внаѧ дꙋхо́вными сразсꙋжда́юще.

Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. Дꙋше́венъ же человѣ́къ не прїе́млетъ ꙗ҆̀же дх҃а бж҃їѧ: ю҆ро́дство бо є҆мꙋ̀ є҆́сть, и҆ не мо́жетъ разꙋмѣ́ти, занѐ дꙋхо́внѣ востѧзꙋ́етсѧ.

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man. Дꙋхо́вный же востѧзꙋ́етъ оу҆́бѡ всѧ̑, а҆ са́мъ то́й ни ѿ є҆ди́нагѡ востѧзꙋ́етсѧ.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. Кто́ бо разꙋмѣ̀ оу҆́мъ гдⷭ҇ень, и҆́же и҆з̾ѧсни́тъ и҆̀; Мы́ же оу҆́мъ хрⷭ҇то́въ и҆́мамы.
Chapter 3
Глава́ г҃

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, as unto babes in Christ. И҆ а҆́зъ, бра́тїе, не мого́хъ ва́мъ глаго́лати ꙗ҆́кѡ дꙋхѡ́внымъ, но ꙗ҆́кѡ плѡ́тѧнымъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ младе́нцємъ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀.

I fed you with milk, and not with meat; for ye were not yet able to bear it: nay, not even now are ye able; Млеко́мъ вы̀ напои́хъ, а҆ не бра́шномъ: и҆́бо не оу҆̀ можа́сте, но нижѐ є҆щѐ мо́жете нн҃ѣ,

for ye are yet carnal: for whereas there are among you jealousy and strife and divisions, are ye not carnal, and do ye not walk after the manner of men? є҆ще́ бо пло́тстїи є҆стѐ. И҆дѣ́же бо въ ва́съ за̑висти и҆ рвє́нїѧ и҆ ра́спри, не пло́тстїи ли є҆стѐ и҆ по человѣ́кꙋ хо́дите;

For when one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? Є҆гда́ бо глаго́летъ кто̀: а҆́зъ оу҆́бѡ є҆́смь па́ѵловъ, дрꙋгі́й же: а҆́зъ а҆поллѡ́совъ: не пло́тстїи ли є҆стѐ;

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom ye believed; and each as the Lord gave to him? Кто̀ оу҆̀бо є҆́сть па́ѵелъ; кто́ же ли а҆поллѡ́съ; Но то́чїю слꙋжи́телїе, и҆́миже вѣ́ровасте, и҆ комꙋ́ждо ꙗ҆́коже гдⷭ҇ь дадѐ.

I planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. А҆́зъ насади́хъ, а҆поллѡ́съ напоѝ, бг҃ъ же возрастѝ:

So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. тѣ́мже ни насажда́ѧй є҆́сть что̀, ни напаѧ́ѧй, но возраща́ѧй бг҃ъ.

Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: but each shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. Насажда́ѧй же и҆ напаѧ́ѧй є҆ди́но є҆ста̀: кі́йждо же свою̀ мздꙋ̀ прїи́метъ по своемꙋ̀ трꙋдꙋ̀.

For we are God’s fellow workers: ye are God’s husbandry, God’s building. (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃и҃.) Бг҃ꙋ бо є҆смы̀ споспѣ̑шницы: бж҃їе тѧжа́нїе, бж҃їе зда́нїе є҆стѐ.

According to the grace of God which was given unto me, as a wise master builder I have laid a foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let each man take heed how he buildeth thereon. По блгⷣти бж҃їей да́ннѣй мнѣ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ премꙋ́дръ а҆рхїте́ктѡнъ ѡ҆снова́нїе положи́хъ, и҆́нъ же назида́етъ: кі́йждо же да блюде́тъ, ка́кѡ назида́етъ.

For other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Ѡ҆снова́нїѧ бо и҆на́гѡ никто́же мо́жетъ положи́ти па́че лежа́щагѡ, є҆́же є҆́сть і҆и҃съ хрⷭ҇то́съ.

But if any man buildeth on this foundation gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, stubble; А҆́ще ли кто̀ назида́етъ на ѡ҆снова́нїи се́мъ зла́то, сребро̀, ка́менїе честно́е, дрова̀, сѣ́но, тро́стїе,

each man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire shall prove each man’s work of what sort it is. когѡ́ждо дѣ́ло ꙗ҆вле́но бꙋ́детъ: де́нь бо ꙗ҆ви́тъ, занѐ ѻ҆гне́мъ ѿкрыва́етсѧ: и҆ когѡ́ждо дѣ́ло, ꙗ҆ково́же є҆́сть, ѻ҆́гнь и҆скꙋ́ситъ.

If any man’s work abide which he built thereon, he shall receive a reward. (И҆) є҆гѡ́же а҆́ще дѣ́ло пребꙋ́детъ, є҆́же назда̀, мздꙋ̀ прїи́метъ:
15
15
If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as through fire. (а҆) є҆гѡ́же дѣ́ло сгори́тъ, ѡ҆тщети́тсѧ: са́мъ же спасе́тсѧ, та́кожде ꙗ҆́коже ѻ҆гне́мъ.

Know ye not that ye are a temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ хра́мъ бж҃їй є҆стѐ, и҆ дх҃ъ бж҃їй живе́тъ въ ва́съ;
17
17
If any man destroyeth the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, and such are ye. А҆́ще кто̀ бж҃їй хра́мъ растли́тъ, растли́тъ сего̀ бг҃ъ: хра́мъ бо бж҃їй ст҃ъ є҆́сть, и҆́же є҆стѐ вы̀.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man thinketh that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool, that he may become wise. (Заⷱ҇ р҃к҃ѳ҃.) Никто́же себѐ да прельща́етъ: а҆́ще кто̀ мни́тсѧ мꙋ́дръ бы́ти въ ва́съ въ вѣ́цѣ се́мъ, бꙋ́й да быва́етъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ да премꙋ́дръ бꙋ́детъ.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He that taketh the wise in their craftiness: Премꙋ́дрость бо мі́ра сегѡ̀ бꙋ́йство оу҆ бг҃а є҆́сть, пи́сано бо є҆́сть: запина́ѧй премꙋ̑дрымъ въ кова́рствѣ и҆́хъ.

and again, The Lord knoweth the reasonings of the wise, that they are vain. И҆ па́ки: гдⷭ҇ь вѣ́сть помышлє́нїѧ человѣ́чєска [мꙋ́дрыхъ], ꙗ҆́кѡ сꙋ́ть сꙋ́єтна.

Wherefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours; Тѣ́мже никто́же да хва́литсѧ въ человѣ́цѣхъ, всѧ̑ бо ва̑ша сꙋ́ть:

Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃.) Та́кѡ на́съ да непщꙋ́етъ человѣ́къ, ꙗ҆́кѡ слꙋ́гъ хрⷭ҇то́выхъ и҆ строи́телей та̑инъ бж҃їихъ:

And moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. а҆ є҆́же про́чее и҆́щетсѧ въ строи́телехъ, да вѣ́ренъ кто̀ ѡ҆брѧ́щетсѧ.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man’s judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. Мнѣ́ же не вели́ко є҆́сть, да ѿ ва́съ и҆стѧжꙋ́сѧ, и҆лѝ ѿ человѣ́ческагѡ днѐ [сꙋда̀]: но ни са́мъ себѐ востѧзꙋ́ю.

For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Ничесѡ́же бо въ себѣ̀ свѣ́мъ, но ни ѡ҆ се́мъ ѡ҆правда́юсѧ: востѧзꙋ́ѧй же мѧ̀ гдⷭ҇ь є҆́сть.

Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God. (Заⷱ҇.) Тѣ́мже пре́жде вре́мене ничто́же сꙋди́те, до́ндеже прїи́детъ гдⷭ҇ь, и҆́же во свѣ́тѣ приведе́тъ та̑йнаѧ тмы̀ и҆ ѡ҆б̾ѧви́тъ совѣ́ты сердє́чныѧ, и҆ тогда̀ похвала̀ бꙋ́детъ комꙋ́ждо ѿ бг҃а.

Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to think beyond that which is written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other. Сїѧ̑ же, бра́тїе (моѧ̑), преѡбрази́хъ на себѐ и҆ а҆поллѡ́са ва́съ ра́ди, да ѿ на́ю наꙋчите́сѧ не па́че напи́санныхъ мꙋ́дрствовати, да не є҆ди́нъ по є҆ди́номꙋ гордите́сѧ на дрꙋга́го.

For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it? Кто́ бо тѧ̀ разсꙋжда́етъ; Что́ же и҆́маши, є҆гѡ́же нѣ́си прїѧ́лъ; А҆́ще же и҆ прїѧ́лъ є҆сѝ, что̀ хва́лишисѧ ꙗ҆́кѡ не прїе́мъ;

Already are ye filled, already ye are become rich, ye have come to reign without us: yea and I would that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you. Сѐ, сы́ти є҆стѐ, сѐ, ѡ҆богати́стесѧ, без̾ на́съ воцари́стесѧ: и҆ ѽ, дабы̀ воцари́лисѧ є҆стѐ, да и҆ мы̀ бы́хомъ съ ва́ми ца́рствовали.

For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃а҃.) Мню́ бо, ꙗ҆́кѡ бг҃ъ ны̀ посла́нники послѣ́днїѧ ꙗ҆вѝ, ꙗ҆́кѡ насме́ртники: занѐ позо́ръ бы́хомъ мі́рꙋ и҆ а҆́гг҃лѡмъ и҆ человѣ́кѡмъ.

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor. Мы̀ (оу҆́бѡ) бꙋ́и хрⷭ҇та̀ ра́ди, вы́ же мꙋ́дри ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀: мы̀ не́мощни, вы́ же крѣ́пцы: вы̀ сла́вни, мы́ же безче́стни.

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; До нн҃ѣшнѧгѡ часа̀ и҆ а҆́лчемъ, и҆ жа́ждемъ, и҆ наготꙋ́емъ, и҆ стра́ждемъ, и҆ скита́емсѧ,

and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; и҆ трꙋжда́емсѧ, дѣ́лающе свои́ми рꙋка́ми. Оу҆корѧ́еми, благословлѧ́емъ: гони́ми, терпи́мъ:

being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now. хꙋ́лими, оу҆тѣша́емсѧ [мо́лимъ]: ꙗ҆́коже ѡ҆тре́би мі́рꙋ бы́хомъ, всѣ̑мъ попра́нїе досе́лѣ.

I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I admonish you. Не срамлѧ́ѧ ва́съ сїѧ̑ пишꙋ̀, но ꙗ҆́коже ча̑да моѧ̑ возлю́блєннаѧ наказꙋ́ю.

For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel. А҆́ще бо (и҆) мнѡ́ги пѣ́стꙋны и҆́мате ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀, но не мнѡ́ги ѻ҆тцы̀: ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ́ бо і҆и҃сѣ бл҃говѣствова́нїемъ а҆́зъ вы̀ роди́хъ.

I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me. Молю́ же ва́съ: подо́бни мнѣ̀ быва́йте, ꙗ҆́коже а҆́зъ хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀.

For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church. Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you. Ꙗ҆́кѡ не грѧдꙋ́щꙋ мѝ къ ва́мъ, разгордѣ́шасѧ нѣ́цыи:

But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power. прїидꙋ́ же ско́рѡ къ ва́мъ, а҆́ще гдⷭ҇ь восхо́щетъ, и҆ оу҆разꙋмѣ́ю не сло́во разгордѣ́вшихсѧ, но си́лꙋ:

For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. не въ словеси́ бо црⷭ҇тво бж҃їе, но въ си́лѣ.

What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness? Что̀ хо́щете; съ па́лицею ли прїидꙋ̀ къ ва́мъ, и҆лѝ съ любо́вїю и҆ дꙋ́хомъ кро́тости;
Chapter 5
Глава́ є҃

It is actually reported that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one of you hath his father’s wife. Ѿню́дъ слы́шитсѧ въ ва́съ блꙋже́нїе, и҆ таково̀ блꙋже́нїе, ꙗ҆ково́же ни во ꙗ҆зы́цѣхъ и҆менꙋ́етсѧ, ꙗ҆́кѡ нѣ́коемꙋ и҆мѣ́ти женꙋ̀ ѻ҆́тчꙋю.

And ye are puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he that had done this deed might be taken away from among you. И҆ вы̀ разгордѣ́сте, и҆ не па́че пла́касте, да и҆́зметсѧ ѿ среды̀ ва́съ содѣ́ѧвый дѣ́ло сїѐ.

For I verily, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already as though I were present judged him that hath so wrought this thing, Занѐ а҆́зъ оу҆́бѡ а҆́ще не оу҆ ва́съ сы́й тѣ́ломъ, тꙋ́ же живы́й дꙋ́хомъ, оу҆жѐ сꙋди́хъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ та́мѡ сы́й: содѣ́ѧвшаго си́це сїѐ,

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, ye being gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, ѡ҆ и҆́мени гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀ собра́вшымсѧ ва́мъ и҆ моемꙋ̀ дꙋ́хꙋ, съ си́лою гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀,

to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. преда́ти такова́го сатанѣ̀ во и҆зможде́нїе пло́ти, да дꙋ́хъ спасе́тсѧ въ де́нь гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀.

Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Не добра̀ похвала̀ ва́ша. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃г҃.) Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ ма́лъ ква́съ всѐ смѣше́нїе ква́ситъ;

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, even as ye are unleavened. For our passover also hath been sacrificed for us, even Christ: Ѡ҆чи́стите оу҆̀бо ве́тхїй ква́съ, да бꙋ́дете но́во смѣше́нїе, ꙗ҆́коже є҆стѐ безква́сни: и҆́бо па́сха на́ша за ны̀ пожре́нъ бы́сть хрⷭ҇то́съ.

wherefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Тѣ́мже да пра́зднꙋемъ не въ ква́сѣ ве́тсѣ, ни въ ква́сѣ ѕло́бы и҆ лꙋка́вства, но въ безква́сїихъ чтⷭ҇оты̀ и҆ и҆́стины.

I wrote unto you in my epistle to have no company with fornicators; (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃д҃.) Писа́хъ ва́мъ въ посла́нїи не примѣша́тисѧ блꙋдникѡ́мъ:

yet not at all meaning with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or with extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world: и҆ не всѧ́кѡ блꙋдникѡ́мъ мі́ра сегѡ̀, и҆лѝ лихои́мцємъ, и҆лѝ хи́щникѡмъ, и҆лѝ і҆дѡлослꙋжи́телємъ, поне́же оу҆̀бо до́лжни бы є҆стѐ бы́ли ѿ мі́ра (сегѡ̀) и҆зы́ти:

but as it is, I wrote unto you not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such a one no, not to eat. нн҃ѣ же писа́хъ ва́мъ не примѣша́тисѧ, а҆́ще нѣ́кїй, бра́тъ и҆менꙋ́емь, бꙋ́детъ блꙋдни́къ, и҆лѝ лихои́мецъ, и҆лѝ і҆дѡлослꙋжи́тель, и҆лѝ досади́тель, и҆лѝ пїѧ́ница, и҆лѝ хи́щникъ: съ таковы́мъ нижѐ ꙗ҆́сти.

For what have I to do with judging them also that are without? Do not ye judge them that are within? Что́ бо мѝ и҆ внѣ́шнихъ сꙋди́ти; Не внꙋ́треннихъ ли вы̀ сꙋ́дите;

But them that are without God shall judge. And ye shall put away the wicked man from among yourselves. Внѣ́шнихъ же бг҃ъ сꙋ́дитъ. И҆ и҆зми́те ѕла́го ѿ ва́съ самѣ́хъ.
Chapter 6

Dare any of you, having a matter against his neighbor, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Смѣ́етъ ли кто̀ ѿ ва́съ, ве́щь и҆мѣ́ѧ ко и҆но́мꙋ, сꙋди́тисѧ ѿ непра́ведныхъ, а҆ не ѿ ст҃ы́хъ;

Know ye not that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world is judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ ст҃і́и мі́рови и҆́мꙋтъ сꙋди́ти; и҆ а҆́ще ва́ми сꙋ́дъ прїи́метъ мі́ръ, недосто́йни є҆стѐ сꙋди́щємъ хꙋды̑мъ;

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life? Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ а҆́ггелѡвъ сꙋди́ти и҆́мамы, а҆ не то́чїю жите́йскихъ;

If then ye have to judge things pertaining to this life, you set them to judge who are of no account in the church! Житє́йскаѧ бо сꙋди̑ща а҆́ще и҆́мате, оу҆ничиже́нныхъ въ цр҃кви, си́хъ посажда́ете.

I say this to move you to shame. What, cannot there be found among you a wise man, not even one, who shall be able to decide between his brethren, Къ сра́мꙋ ва́мъ глаго́лю: та́кѡ ли нѣ́сть въ ва́съ мꙋ́дръ ни є҆ди́нъ, и҆́же мо́жетъ разсꙋди́ти междꙋ̀ бра́тїй свои́хъ;

but brother goeth to law with brother, and that before unbelievers? Но бра́тъ съ бра́томъ сꙋ́дитсѧ, и҆ то̀ пред̾ невѣ́рными.

Already indeed then, it is altogether a defect in you, that ye have lawsuits one with another. Why not rather take wrong? why not rather be defrauded? Оу҆жѐ оу҆̀бо ѿню́дъ ва́мъ сра́мъ є҆́сть, ꙗ҆́кѡ тѧжбы̑ и҆́мате междꙋ̀ собо́ю. Почто̀ не па́че ѡ҆би́дими є҆стѐ; почто̀ не па́че лише́ни быва́ете;

Nay, but ye yourselves do wrong, and defraud, and these things ye do to your brethren. Но вы̀ (са́ми) ѡ҆би́дите и҆ лиша́ете, да є҆щѐ бра́тїю.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with men, И҆лѝ не вѣ́сте, ꙗ҆́кѡ непра́вєдницы црⷭ҇твїѧ бж҃їѧ не наслѣ́дѧтъ; Не льсти́те себѐ: ни блꙋдницы̀, ни і҆дѡлослꙋжи́телє, ни прелюбодѣ́є, (ни скверни́телє,) ни малакі̑и, ни мꙋжело́жницы,

nor covetous, nor thieves, nor drunkards; not revilers, not extortioners—they shall not inherit the kingdom of God. ни лихои́мцы, ни та́тїе, ни пїѧ̑ницы, ни досади́телє, ни хи̑щницы црⷭ҇твїѧ бж҃їѧ не наслѣ́дѧтъ.

And such were some of you: but ye were washed, but ye were sanctified, but ye were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God. И҆ си́ми (оу҆́бѡ) нѣ́цыи бѣ́сте, но ѡ҆мы́стесѧ, но ѡ҆ст҃и́стесѧ, но ѡ҆правди́стесѧ и҆́менемъ гдⷭ҇а на́шегѡ і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та̀ и҆ дх҃омъ бг҃а на́шегѡ.

All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but I will not be brought under the power of any. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃е҃.) Всѧ̑ мѝ лѣ́ть сꙋ́ть, но не всѧ̑ на по́льзꙋ: всѧ̑ мѝ лѣ́ть сꙋ́ть, но не а҆́зъ ѡ҆блада́нъ бꙋ́дꙋ ѿ чегѡ̀.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall bring to nought both it and them. But the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body: Бра̑шна чре́вꙋ, и҆ чре́во бра́шнѡмъ: бг҃ъ же и҆ сїѐ и҆ сїѧ̑ оу҆праздни́тъ. Тѣ́ло же не блꙋже́нїю, но гдⷭ҇еви, и҆ гдⷭ҇ь тѣ́лꙋ.

and God both raised the Lord, and will raise up us through his power. Бг҃ъ же и҆ гдⷭ҇а воздви́же, и҆ на́съ воздви́гнетъ си́лою свое́ю.

Know ye not that your bodies are members of Christ? shall I then take away the members of Christ, and make them members of a harlot? God forbid. Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ тѣлеса̀ ва̑ша оу҆́дове хрⷭ҇тѡ́вы сꙋ́ть; Взе́мь ли оу҆̀бо оу҆́ды хрⷭ҇тѡ́вы, сотворю̀ оу҆́ды блꙋдни̑чи; Да не бꙋ́детъ.

Know ye not that he that is joined to a harlot is one body? for, The twain, saith he, shall become one flesh. И҆лѝ не вѣ́сте, ꙗ҆́кѡ прилѣплѧ́ѧйсѧ сквернодѣ́йцѣ є҆ди́но тѣ́ло є҆́сть (съ блꙋдодѣ́йцею); бꙋ́дета бо, речѐ, ѻ҆́ба въ пло́ть є҆ди́нꙋ.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Прилѣплѧ́ѧйсѧ же гдⷭ҇еви є҆ди́нъ дꙋ́хъ є҆́сть (съ гдⷭ҇емъ).

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Бѣ́гайте блꙋдодѣѧ́нїѧ: всѧ́къ (бо) грѣ́хъ, є҆го́же а҆́ще сотвори́тъ человѣ́къ, кромѣ̀ тѣ́ла є҆́сть: а҆ блꙋдѧ́й во своѐ тѣ́ло согрѣша́етъ.

Or know ye not that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own; И҆лѝ не вѣ́сте, ꙗ҆́кѡ тѣлеса̀ ва̑ша хра́мъ живꙋ́щагѡ въ ва́съ ст҃а́гѡ дх҃а сꙋ́ть, є҆го́же и҆́мате ѿ бг҃а, и҆ нѣ́сте своѝ;

for ye were bought with a price: glorify God therefore in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. кꙋ́плени бо є҆стѐ цѣно́ю. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃ѕ҃.) Просла́вите оу҆̀бо бг҃а въ тѣлесѣ́хъ ва́шихъ и҆ въ дꙋша́хъ ва́шихъ, ꙗ҆̀же сꙋ́ть бж҃їѧ.
Chapter 7

Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. А҆ ѡ҆ ни́хже писа́сте мѝ, добро̀ человѣ́кꙋ женѣ̀ не прикаса́тисѧ.

But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Но блꙋдодѣѧ́нїѧ ра́ди кі́йждо свою̀ женꙋ̀ да и҆́мать, и҆ ка́ѧждо (жена̀) своего̀ мꙋ́жа да и҆́мать.

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. Женѣ̀ мꙋ́жъ до́лжнꙋю любо́вь да воздае́тъ: та́кожде и҆ жена̀ мꙋ́жꙋ.

The wife hath not power over her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power over his own body, but the wife. Жена̀ свои́мъ тѣ́ломъ не владѣ́етъ, но мꙋ́жъ: та́кожде и҆ мꙋ́жъ свои́мъ тѣ́ломъ не владѣ́етъ, но жена̀.

Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto fasting and prayer, and may come together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency. Не лиша́йте себє̀ дрꙋ́гъ дрꙋ́га, то́чїю по согла́сїю до вре́мене, да пребыва́ете въ постѣ̀ и҆ моли́твѣ, и҆ па́ки вкꙋ́пѣ собира́йтесѧ, да не и҆скꙋша́етъ ва́съ сатана̀ невоздержа́нїемъ ва́шимъ.

But this I say by way of concession, not of commandment. Сїе́ же глаго́лю по совѣ́тꙋ, (а҆) не по повелѣ́нїю.

For I would that all men were even as I myself. Howbeit each man hath his own gift from God, one after this manner, and another after that. Хощꙋ́ бо, да всѝ человѣ́цы бꙋ́дꙋтъ, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ а҆́зъ: но кі́йждо своѐ дарова́нїе и҆́мать ѿ бг҃а, ѻ҆́въ оу҆́бѡ си́це, ѻ҆́въ же си́це.

But I say to the unmarried and to widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. Глаго́лю же безбра̑чнымъ и҆ вдови́цамъ: добро̀ и҆̀мъ є҆́сть, а҆́ще пребꙋ́дꙋтъ ꙗ҆́коже и҆ а҆́зъ:

But if they have not continency, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. а҆́ще ли не оу҆держа́тсѧ, да посѧга́ютъ: лꙋ́чше бо є҆́сть жени́тисѧ, не́жели разжиза́тисѧ.

But unto the married I give charge, yea not I, but the Lord, That the wife depart not from her husband А҆ ѡ҆жени́вшымсѧ завѣщава́ю не а҆́зъ, но гдⷭ҇ь: женѣ̀ ѿ мꙋ́жа не разлꙋча́тисѧ:

(but should she depart, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband); and that the husband leave not his wife. а҆́ще ли же и҆ разлꙋчи́тсѧ, да пребыва́етъ безбра́чна, и҆лѝ да смири́тсѧ съ мꙋ́жемъ (свои́мъ): и҆ мꙋ́жꙋ жены̀ не ѿпꙋща́ти.

But to the rest say I, not the Lord: If any brother hath an unbelieving wife, and she is content to dwell with him, let him not leave her. And the woman that hath an unbelieving husband, and he is content to dwell with her, let her not leave him. и҆ жена̀ а҆́ще и҆́мать мꙋ́жа невѣ́рна, и҆ то́й благоволи́тъ жи́ти съ не́ю, да не ѡ҆ставлѧ́етъ є҆гѡ̀:

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. свѧти́тсѧ бо мꙋ́жъ невѣ́ренъ ѡ҆ женѣ̀ вѣ́рнѣ, и҆ свѧти́тсѧ жена̀ невѣ́рна ѡ҆ мꙋ́жи вѣ́рнѣ: и҆на́че бо ча̑да ва̑ша нечи̑ста бы́ли бы, нн҃ѣ же ст҃а сꙋ́ть.

Yet if the unbelieving departeth, let him depart: the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us in peace. А҆́ще ли невѣ́рный ѿлꙋча́етсѧ, да разлꙋчи́тсѧ: не порабо́тисѧ (бо) бра́тъ и҆лѝ сестра̀ въ таковы́хъ: въ ми́ръ бо призва̀ на́съ (гдⷭ҇ь) бг҃ъ.

For how knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O husband, whether thou shalt save thy wife? Что́ бо вѣ́си, же́но, а҆́ще мꙋ́жа спасе́ши; И҆лѝ что̀ вѣ́си, мꙋ́жꙋ, а҆́ще женꙋ̀ спасе́ши;

Only, as God hath distributed to each man, as the Lord hath called each, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all the churches. То́чїю коемꙋ́ждо ꙗ҆́коже раздѣли́лъ є҆́сть бг҃ъ, кі́йждо ꙗ҆́коже при́званъ бы́сть гдⷭ҇емъ, та́кѡ да хо́дитъ: и҆ та́кѡ во всѣ́хъ цр҃квахъ повелѣва́ю.

Was any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Was any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised. Во ѡ҆брѣ́занїи ли кто̀ при́званъ бы́сть; да не ѿто́ргнетсѧ [да не твори́тъ себѣ̀ неѡбрѣ́занїѧ]: въ неѡбрѣ́занїи ли кто̀ при́званъ бы́сть; да не ѡ҆брѣ́зꙋетсѧ.

Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing; but the keeping of the commandments of God. Ѡ҆брѣ́занїе ничто́же є҆́сть, и҆ неѡбрѣ́занїе ничто́же є҆́сть, но соблюде́нїе за́повѣдїй бж҃їихъ.

Let each man abide in that calling wherein he was called. Кі́йждо въ зва́нїи, въ не́мже при́званъ бы́сть, въ то́мъ да пребыва́етъ.

Wast thou called being a bondservant? care not for it: nay, even if thou canst become free, use it rather. Ра́бъ ли при́званъ бы́лъ є҆сѝ; да не неради́ши [да не печа́лишисѧ]: но а҆́ще и҆ мо́жеши свобо́денъ бы́ти, бо́лше порабо́ти себѐ.

For he that was called in the Lord being a bondservant, is the Lord’s freedman: likewise also he that was called being free, is Christ’s bondservant. При́званный бо ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ ра́бъ, свобо́дникъ гдⷭ҇ень є҆́сть: та́кожде и҆ при́званный свобо́дникъ, ра́бъ є҆́сть хрⷭ҇то́въ.

Ye were bought with a price; become not bondservants of men. Цѣно́ю кꙋ́плени є҆стѐ: не бꙋ́дите рабѝ человѣ́кѡмъ.

Brethren, let each man, wherein he was called, therein abide with God. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃и҃.) Кі́йждо, въ не́мже при́званъ бы́сть, бра́тїе, въ то́мъ да пребыва́етъ пред̾ бг҃омъ.

Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: but I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be trustworthy. Ѡ҆ дѣ́вахъ же повелѣ́нїѧ гдⷭ҇нѧ не и҆́мамъ, совѣ́тъ же даю̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ поми́лованъ ѿ гдⷭ҇а вѣ́ренъ бы́ти.

I think therefore that this is good by reason of the distress that is upon us, namely, that it is good for a man to be as he is. Мню̀ оу҆̀бо сїѐ добро̀ бы́ти за настоѧ́щꙋю нꙋ́ждꙋ, ꙗ҆́кѡ добро̀ человѣ́кꙋ та́кѡ бы́ти.

But shouldest thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Yet such shall have tribulation in the flesh: and I would spare you. А҆́ще ли же и҆ ѡ҆же́нишисѧ, не согрѣши́лъ є҆сѝ: и҆ а҆́ще посѧ́гнетъ дѣ́ва, не согрѣши́ла є҆́сть. Ско́рбь же пло́ти и҆мѣ́ти бꙋ́дꙋтъ такові́и: а҆́зъ же вы̀ щаждꙋ̀.

But this I say, brethren, the time is shortened: henceforth it is such that both those that have wives may be as though they had none; Сїе́ же глаго́лю, бра́тїе, ꙗ҆́кѡ вре́мѧ прекраще́но є҆́сть про́чее, да и҆ и҆мꙋ́щїи жєны̀, ꙗ҆́коже не и҆мꙋ́щїи бꙋ́дꙋтъ:

and those that weep, as though they wept not; and those that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and those that buy, as though they possessed not; и҆ пла́чꙋщїисѧ, ꙗ҆́коже не пла́чꙋщїи: и҆ ра́дꙋющїисѧ, ꙗ҆́коже не ра́дꙋющесѧ: и҆ кꙋпꙋ́ющїи, ꙗ҆́кѡ не содержа́ще:

and those that use this world, as not using it to the full: for the fashion of this world passeth away. и҆ тре́бꙋющїи мі́ра сегѡ̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ не тре́бꙋюще: прехо́дитъ бо ѡ҆́бразъ мі́ра сегѡ̀.

But I would have you to be free from cares. He that is unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, how he shall please the Lord: Хощꙋ́ же ва́съ безпеча́льныхъ бы́ти. Не ѡ҆жени́выйсѧ пече́тсѧ ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇нихъ, ка́кѡ оу҆годи́ти гдⷭ҇еви:

but he that is married is careful for the things of the world, how he shall please his wife. а҆ ѡ҆жени́выйсѧ пече́тсѧ ѡ҆ мїрски́хъ, ка́кѡ оу҆годи́ти женѣ̀. Раздѣли́сѧ жена̀ и҆ дѣ́ва:

There is a difference between both the wife and the virgin. The unmarried is careful for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married is careful for the things of the world, how she shall please her husband. непосѧ́гшаѧ пече́тсѧ ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇нихъ, ка́кѡ оу҆годи́ти гдⷭ҇еви, да бꙋ́детъ ст҃а̀ и҆ тѣ́ломъ и҆ дꙋ́хомъ: а҆ посѧ́гшаѧ пече́тсѧ ѡ҆ мїрски́хъ, ка́кѡ оу҆годи́ти мꙋ́жꙋ.

And this I say for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is seemly, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. (Заⷱ҇ р҃л҃ѳ҃.) But if any man thinketh that he behaveth himself unseemly toward his virgin, if she be past the flower of her age, and if need so requireth, let him do what he will; he sinneth not; let them marry. А҆́ще ли же кто̀ без̾ѡбрази́ти ѡ҆ дѣ́вѣ свое́й непщꙋ́етъ, а҆́ще є҆́сть превозра́стна, и҆ та́кѡ должна̀ є҆́сть бы́ти: є҆́же хо́щетъ, да твори́тъ: не согрѣша́етъ, а҆́ще посѧ́гнетъ.

But he that standeth steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power as touching his own will, and hath determined this in his heart, to keep his own virgin, doeth well. А҆ и҆́же стои́тъ тве́рдѡ се́рдцемъ, не и҆мы́й нꙋ́жды, вла́сть же и҆́мать ѡ҆ свое́й во́ли, и҆ сѐ разсꙋди́лъ є҆́сть въ се́рдцы свое́мъ блюстѝ дѣ́вꙋ свою̀, до́брѣ твори́тъ.

So then even he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. Тѣ́мже и҆ вдаѧ́й бра́кꙋ свою̀ дѣ́вꙋ до́брѣ твори́тъ: и҆ не вдаѧ́й лꙋ́чше твори́тъ.

A wife is bound by the law for so long time as her husband liveth; but if the husband indeed be dead, she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. Жена̀ привѧ́зана є҆́сть зако́номъ, въ є҆ли́ко вре́мѧ живе́тъ мꙋ́жъ є҆ѧ̀: а҆́ще же оу҆́мретъ мꙋ́жъ є҆ѧ̀, свобо́дна є҆́сть, за него́же хо́щетъ, посѧ́гнꙋти, то́чїю ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ.

But she is happier if she abide as she is, after my judgment: and I think that I also have the Spirit of God. Бл҃же́ннѣйша же є҆́сть, а҆́ще та́кѡ пребꙋ́детъ, по моемꙋ̀ совѣ́тꙋ: мню́сѧ бо и҆ а҆́зъ дх҃а бж҃їѧ и҆мѣ́ти.

Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but love edifieth. Ѡ҆ і҆дѡложе́ртвенныхъ же вѣ́мы: ꙗ҆́кѡ всѝ ра́зꙋмъ и҆́мамы. Ра́зꙋмъ (оу҆́бѡ) кичи́тъ, а҆ любы̀ созида́етъ.

And if any man thinketh that he knoweth anything, he knoweth not anything yet as he ought to know; А҆́ще ли кто̀ мни́тсѧ вѣ́дѣти что̀, не оу҆̀ что̀ разꙋмѣ̀, ꙗ҆́коже подоба́етъ разꙋмѣ́ти:

but if any man loveth God, the same is known by him. а҆́ще же кто̀ лю́битъ бг҃а, се́й позна́нъ бы́сть ѿ негѡ̀.

Concerning therefore the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is none other God but one. Ѡ҆ ꙗ҆де́нїи же і҆дѡложе́ртвенныхъ вѣ́мы, ꙗ҆́кѡ і҆́дѡлъ ничто́же є҆́сть въ мі́рѣ, и҆ ꙗ҆́кѡ никто́же бг҃ъ и҆́нъ, то́кмѡ є҆ди́нъ.

For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or on earth; as there are gods many, and lords many; А҆́ще бо и҆ сꙋ́ть глаго́лемїи бо́зи, и҆лѝ на небесѝ, и҆лѝ на землѝ: ꙗ҆́коже сꙋ́ть бо́зи мно́зи и҆ госпо́дїе мно́зи:

yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him. но на́мъ є҆ди́нъ бг҃ъ ѻ҆ц҃ъ, и҆з̾ негѡ́же всѧ̑, и҆ мы̀ оу҆ негѡ̀, и҆ є҆ди́нъ гдⷭ҇ь і҆и҃съ хрⷭ҇то́съ, и҆́мже всѧ̑, и҆ мы̀ тѣ́мъ.

Howbeit there is not in all men that knowledge: but some, with conscience of the idol until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. Но не во всѣ́хъ ра́зꙋмъ: нѣ́цыи же со́вѣстїю і҆́дѡлскою да́же досе́лѣ ꙗ҆́коже і҆дѡложе́ртвенное ꙗ҆дѧ́тъ, и҆ со́вѣсть и҆́хъ, немощна̀ сꙋ́щи, скверни́тсѧ.

But food commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; nor, if we eat not, are we the worse. (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃.) Бра́шно же на́съ не поставлѧ́етъ пред̾ бг҃омъ: ниже́ бо а҆́ще ꙗ҆́мы, и҆збы́точествꙋемъ: нижѐ а҆́ще не ꙗ҆́мы, лиша́емсѧ.

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to them that are weak. Блюди́те же, да не ка́кѡ вла́сть ва́ша сїѧ̀ преткнове́нїе бꙋ́детъ немощны́мъ.

For if a man see thee who hast knowledge sitting at meat in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols? А҆́ще бо кто̀ ви́дитъ тѧ̀, и҆мꙋ́ща ра́зꙋмъ, въ тре́бищи возлежа́ща, не со́вѣсть ли є҆гѡ̀ немощна̀ сꙋ́щи сози́ждетсѧ і҆дѡложе́ртвєннаѧ ꙗ҆́сти;

And through thy knowledge shall the brother that is weak perish, for whose sake Christ died? И҆ поги́бнетъ немощны́й бра́тъ въ твое́мъ ра́зꙋмѣ, є҆гѡ́же ра́ди хрⷭ҇то́съ оу҆́мре.

And thus, sinning against the brethren, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, ye sin against Christ. Та́кожде согрѣша́юще въ бра́тїю и҆ бїю́ще и҆́хъ со́вѣсть не́мощнꙋ сꙋ́щꙋ, во хрⷭ҇та̀ согрѣша́ете.

Wherefore, if meat causeth my brother to stumble, I will eat no flesh forevermore, that I cause not my brother to stumble. Тѣ́мже а҆́ще бра́шно соблазнѧ́етъ бра́та моего̀, не и҆́мамъ ꙗ҆́сти мѧ́са во вѣ́ки, да не соблазню̀ бра́та моего̀.
Chapter 9
Глава́ ѳ҃

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? Нѣ́смь ли а҆пⷭ҇лъ; Нѣ́смь ли свобо́дь; Не і҆и҃са хрⷭ҇та́ ли гдⷭ҇а на́шего ви́дѣхъ; Не дѣ́ло ли моѐ вы̀ є҆стѐ ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ;

If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord. А҆́ще и҆ны̑мъ (и҆) нѣ́смь а҆пⷭ҇лъ, но ѻ҆ба́че ва́мъ є҆́смь: (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃а҃.) печа́ть бо моегѡ̀ а҆пⷭ҇лства вы̀ є҆стѐ ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ.

My defense to them that examine me is this. Мо́й ѿвѣ́тъ востѧзꙋ́ющымъ менѐ се́й є҆́сть.

Have we no right to eat and to drink? Є҆да̀ не и҆́мамы вла́сти ꙗ҆́сти и҆ пи́ти;

Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? Є҆да̀ не и҆́мамы вла́сти сестрꙋ̀ женꙋ̀ води́ти, ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆ про́чїи а҆пⷭ҇ли, и҆ бра́тїѧ гдⷭ҇нѧ, и҆ ки́фа;

Or I only and Barnabas, have we not a right to forbear working? И҆лѝ є҆ди́нъ а҆́зъ и҆ варна́ва не и҆́мамы вла́сти є҆́же не дѣ́лати;

What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Кто̀ во́инствꙋетъ свои́ми ѡ҆брѡ́ки когда̀; И҆лѝ кто̀ насажда́етъ вїногра́дъ, и҆ ѿ плода̀ є҆гѡ̀ не ꙗ҆́стъ; И҆лѝ кто̀ пасе́тъ ста́до, и҆ ѿ млека̀ ста́да не ꙗ҆́стъ;

Do I speak these things after the manner of men? or saith not the law also the same? Є҆да̀ по человѣ́кꙋ сїѧ̑ глаго́лю; Не и҆ зако́нъ ли сїѧ̑ глаго́летъ;

For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the grain. Is it for the oxen that God careth, Въ мѡѷсе́овѣ бо зако́нѣ пи́сано: да не загради́ши оу҆стнꙋ̀ вола̀ молотѧ́ща. Є҆да̀ ѡ҆ волѣ́хъ ради́тъ бг҃ъ;

or saith he it assuredly for our sake? Yea, for our sake it was written: because he that ploweth ought to plow in hope, and he that thresheth in hope, ought to partake of his hope. И҆лѝ на́съ ра́ди всѧ́кѡ глаго́летъ; На́съ бо ра́ди написа́сѧ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ѡ҆ наде́жди до́лженъ є҆́сть ѡ҆рѧ́й ѡ҆ра́ти, и҆ молотѧ́й съ наде́ждею своегѡ̀ оу҆пова́нїѧ причаща́тисѧ.

If we sowed unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we shall reap your carnal things? А҆́ще мы̀ дꙋхѡ́внаѧ сѣ́ѧхомъ ва́мъ, вели́ко ли, а҆́ще мы̀ ва̑ша тѣлє́снаѧ по́жнемъ;

If others partake of this right over you, do not we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right; but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ. А҆́ще и҆ні́и вла́сти ва́шеѧ причаща́ютсѧ, не па́че ли мы̀; Но не сотвори́хомъ по ѡ҆́бласти се́й: но всѧ̑ терпи́мъ, да не прекраще́нїе ко́е да́мы бл҃говѣствова́нїю хрⷭ҇то́вꙋ.

Know ye not that they that minister about sacred things eat of the things of the temple, and they that wait upon the altar have their portion with the altar? (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃в҃.) Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ дѣ́лающїи сщ҃є́ннаѧ ѿ свѧти́лища ꙗ҆дѧ́тъ; (и҆) слꙋжа́щїи ѻ҆лтарю̀ со ѻ҆лтаре́мъ дѣ́лѧтсѧ;

Even so did the Lord ordain that they that proclaim the gospel should live of the gospel. Та́кѡ и҆ гдⷭ҇ь повелѣ̀ проповѣ́дающымъ бл҃говѣ́стїе ѿ бл҃говѣ́стїѧ жи́ти.

But I have used none of these things: and I write not these things that it may be so done in my case; for it were good for me rather to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. А҆́зъ же ни є҆ди́но сотвори́хъ ѿ си́хъ. Не писа́хъ же сїѧ̑, да та́кѡ бꙋ́детъ ѡ҆ мнѣ̀: до́брѣе бо мнѣ̀ па́че оу҆мре́ти, не́жели похвалꙋ̀ мою̀ кто̀ да и҆спраздни́тъ.

For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; but woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel. А҆́ще бо благовѣствꙋ́ю, нѣ́сть мѝ похвалы̀, нꙋ́жда бо мѝ належи́тъ: го́ре же мнѣ̀ є҆́сть, а҆́ще не благовѣствꙋ́ю.

For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me. А҆́ще оу҆́бѡ во́лею сїѐ творю̀, мздꙋ̀ и҆́мамъ: а҆́ще же нево́лею, строе́нїе мѝ є҆́сть предано̀.

What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel. Ка́ѧ оу҆̀бо мѝ є҆́сть мзда̀; Да благовѣствꙋ́ѧй без̾ мзды̀ положꙋ̀ бл҃говѣ́стїе хрⷭ҇то́во, во є҆́же не твори́ти мѝ по ѡ҆́бласти мое́й въ бл҃говѣствова́нїи.

For though I was free from all men, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more. (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃г҃.) Свобо́денъ бо сы́й ѿ всѣ́хъ, всѣ̑мъ себѐ порабо́тихъ, да мно́жайшыѧ приѡбрѧ́щꙋ:

And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; бы́хъ і҆ꙋде́ємъ ꙗ҆́кѡ і҆ꙋде́й, да і҆ꙋдє́и прїѡбрѧ́щꙋ: подзакѡ́ннымъ ꙗ҆́кѡ подзако́ненъ, да подзакѡ́нныѧ приѡбрѧ́щꙋ:

to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law. беззакѡ́ннымъ ꙗ҆́кѡ беззако́ненъ, не сы́й беззако́нникъ бг҃ꙋ, но зако́нникъ хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀, да приѡбрѧ́щꙋ беззакѡ́нныѧ.

To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some. Бы́хъ немощны́мъ ꙗ҆́кѡ не́мощенъ, да немощны́ѧ прїѡбрѧ́щꙋ. Всѣ̑мъ бы́хъ всѧ̑, да всѧ́кѡ нѣ̑кїѧ спасꙋ̀.

And I do this for the gospel’s sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof. Сїе́ же творю̀ за бл҃говѣ́стїе, да соѻ́бщникъ є҆мꙋ̀ бꙋ́дꙋ.

Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain. Не вѣ́сте ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ текꙋ́щїи въ позо́рищи всѝ оу҆́бѡ текꙋ́тъ, є҆ди́нъ же прїе́млетъ по́честь; Та́кѡ тецы́те, да пости́гнете.

And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. Всѧ́къ же подвиза́ѧйсѧ ѿ всѣ́хъ воздержи́тсѧ: и҆ ѻ҆нѝ оу҆́бѡ да и҆стлѣ́ненъ вѣне́цъ прїи́мꙋтъ, мы́ же неистлѣ́ненъ.

I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air: А҆́зъ оу҆́бѡ та́кѡ текꙋ̀, не ꙗ҆́кѡ безвѣ́стнѡ, та́кѡ подвиза́юсѧ, не ꙗ҆́кѡ воздꙋ́хъ бїѧ́й:

but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected. но оу҆мерщвлѧ́ю тѣ́ло моѐ и҆ порабоща́ю, да не ка́кѡ, и҆ны̑мъ проповѣ́дꙋѧ, са́мъ неключи́мь бꙋ́дꙋ.

Глава́ і҃

Now I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; Не хощꙋ́ же ва́съ не вѣ́дѣти, бра́тїе, ꙗ҆́кѡ ѻ҆тцы̀ на́ши всѝ под̾ ѡ҆́блакомъ бы́ша, и҆ всѝ сквозѣ̀ мо́ре проидо́ша:

and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; и҆ всѝ въ мѡѷсе́а крести́шасѧ во ѡ҆́блацѣ и҆ въ мо́ри:

and did all eat the same spiritual food; и҆ всѝ то́жде бра́шно дꙋхо́вное ꙗ҆до́ша:

and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ. и҆ всѝ то́жде пи́во дꙋхо́вное пи́ша, пїѧ́хꙋ бо ѿ дꙋхо́внагѡ послѣ́дꙋющагѡ ка́мене: ка́мень же бѣ̀ хрⷭ҇то́съ.

Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃д҃.) Но не во мно́жайшихъ и҆́хъ бл҃говолѝ бг҃ъ, пораже́ни бо бы́ша въ пꙋсты́ни.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Сїѧ̑ же ѡ҆́брази на́мъ бы́ша, ꙗ҆́кѡ не бы́ти на́мъ похотникѡ́мъ ѕлы́хъ, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ ѻ҆нѝ похотѣ́ша.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Ни і҆дѡлослꙋжи́телє быва́йте, ꙗ҆́коже нѣ́цыи ѿ ни́хъ, ꙗ҆́коже є҆́сть пи́сано: сѣдо́ша лю́дїе ꙗ҆́сти и҆ пи́ти, и҆ воста́ша и҆гра́ти.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Нижѐ соблꙋ́димъ, ꙗ҆́коже нѣ́цыи ѿ ни́хъ соблꙋди́ша, и҆ падо́ша во є҆ди́нъ де́нь два́десѧть трѝ ты́сѧщы.

Neither let us make trial of Christ, as some of them also made trial, and perished by the serpents. Ни да и҆скꙋша́имъ хрⷭ҇та̀, ꙗ҆́коже нѣ́цыи ѿ ни́хъ и҆скꙋси́ша и҆ ѿ ѕмі́й погибо́ша.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and perished by the destroyer. Ни ропщи́те, ꙗ҆́коже нѣ́цыи ѿ ни́хъ ропта́ша и҆ погибо́ша ѿ всегꙋби́телѧ.

Now all these things happened unto them as examples; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. Сїѧ̑ же всѧ̑ ѡ҆́брази прилꙋча́хꙋсѧ ѡ҆́нѣмъ: пи̑сана же бы́ша въ наꙋче́нїе на́ше, въ ни́хже концы̑ вѣ̑къ достиго́ша.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃е҃.) Тѣ́мже мнѧ́йсѧ стоѧ́ти да блюде́тсѧ, да не паде́тъ.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it. И҆скꙋше́нїе ва́съ не дости́же, то́чїю человѣ́ческое: вѣ́ренъ же бг҃ъ, и҆́же не ѡ҆ста́витъ ва́съ и҆скꙋси́тисѧ па́че, є҆́же мо́жете, но сотвори́тъ со и҆скꙋше́нїемъ и҆ и҆збы́тїе, ꙗ҆́кѡ возмощѝ ва́мъ понестѝ.

Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. Тѣ́мже, бра́тїе моѧ̑ возлю́блєннаѧ, бѣ́гайте ѿ і҆дѡлослꙋже́нїѧ.

I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. Ꙗ҆́кѡ мꙋ̑дрымъ глаго́лю: сꙋди́те вы̀, є҆́же глаго́лю:

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ? ча́ша блгⷭ҇ве́нїѧ, ю҆́же благословлѧ́емъ, не ѻ҆бще́нїе ли кро́ве хрⷭ҇то́вы є҆́сть; хлѣ́бъ, є҆го́же ло́мимъ, не ѻ҆бще́нїе ли тѣ́ла хрⷭ҇то́ва є҆́сть;

seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we all partake of the one bread. Ꙗ҆́кѡ є҆ди́нъ хлѣ́бъ, є҆ди́но тѣ́ло є҆смы̀ мно́зи: вси́ бо ѿ є҆ди́нагѡ хлѣ́ба причаща́емсѧ.

Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they that eat the sacrifices communion with the altar? Ви́дите і҆и҃лѧ по пло́ти: не ꙗ҆дꙋ́щїи ли жє́ртвы ѡ҆́бщницы ѻ҆лтаре́ви сꙋ́ть;

What say I then? that an idol is anything, or that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything? Что̀ оу҆̀бо глаго́лю; ꙗ҆́кѡ і҆́дѡлъ что̀ є҆́сть; и҆лѝ і҆дѡложе́ртвенное что̀ є҆́сть;

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with demons. Но занѐ, ꙗ҆̀же жрꙋ́тъ ꙗ҆зы́цы, бѣсѡ́мъ жрꙋ́тъ, а҆ не бг҃ови: не хощꙋ́ же ва́съ ѻ҆́бщникѡвъ бы́ти бѣсѡ́мъ.

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons. Не мо́жете ча́шꙋ гдⷭ҇ню пи́ти и҆ ча́шꙋ бѣсо́вскꙋю: не мо́жете трапе́зѣ гдⷭ҇ней причаща́тисѧ и҆ трапе́зѣ бѣсо́встѣй.

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? И҆лѝ раздража́емъ гдⷭ҇а; Є҆да̀ крѣпча́йши є҆гѡ̀ є҆смы̀;

All things are lawful for me; but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me; but not all things edify. (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃ѕ҃.) Всѧ̑ мѝ лѣ́ть сꙋ́ть, но не всѧ̑ на по́льзꙋ: всѧ̑ мѝ лѣ́ть сꙋ́ть, но не всѧ̑ назида́ютъ.

Let no man seek his own, but each his neighbor’s good. Никто́же своегѡ́ си да и҆́щетъ, но є҆́же бли́жнѧгѡ кі́йждо.

Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake; Всѐ, є҆́же на то́ржищи продае́мое, ꙗ҆ди́те, ничто́же сꙋмнѧ́щесѧ, за со́вѣсть:

for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof. гдⷭ҇нѧ бо землѧ̀ и҆ и҆сполне́нїе є҆ѧ̀.

And if one of them that believe not biddeth you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience’ sake. А҆́ще ли кто̀ ѿ невѣ́рныхъ призыва́етъ вы̀, и҆ хо́щете и҆тѝ, всѐ предлага́емое ва́мъ ꙗ҆ди́те, ничто́же сꙋмнѧ́щесѧ, за со́вѣсть.

But if any man say unto you, This hath been sacrificed to idols, eat not, for his sake that showed it, and for conscience’ sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof: (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃з҃.) А҆́ще ли же кто̀ ва́мъ рече́тъ: сїѐ і҆дѡложе́ртвенно є҆́сть: не ꙗ҆ди́те за ѻ҆́ного повѣ́давшаго, и҆ со́вѣсть: гдⷭ҇нѧ бо землѧ̀ и҆ и҆сполне́нїе є҆ѧ̀.

conscience, I say, not thine own, but the other’s; for why is my liberty judged by another conscience? Со́вѣсть же глаго́лю не свою̀, но дрꙋга́гѡ: вскꙋ́ю бо свобо́да моѧ̀ сꙋ́дитсѧ ѿ и҆ны́ѧ со́вѣсти;

If I partake with thankfulness, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? А҆́ще а҆́зъ благода́тїю причаща́юсѧ, почто̀ хꙋлꙋ̀ прїе́млю, ѡ҆ не́мже а҆́зъ благодарю̀;

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. А҆́ще оу҆̀бо ꙗ҆́сте, а҆́ще ли пїетѐ, а҆́ще ли и҆́но что̀ творитѐ, всѧ̑ во сла́вꙋ бж҃їю твори́те.

Give no occasion of stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the church of God: Безпреткнове́ни быва́йте і҆ꙋде́ємъ и҆ є҆́ллинѡмъ и҆ цр҃кви бж҃їей,

even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved. ꙗ҆́коже и҆ а҆́зъ во все́мъ всѣ̑мъ оу҆гожда́ю, не и҆скі́й своеѧ̀ по́льзы, но мно́гихъ, да спасꙋ́тсѧ.
Chapter 11
Глава́ а҃і

Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ. Подража́телє мнѣ̀ быва́йте, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ а҆́зъ хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀.

Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and hold fast the traditions, even as I delivered them to you. Хвалю́ же вы̀, бра́тїе, ꙗ҆́кѡ всѧ̑ моѧ̑ по́мните, и҆ ꙗ҆́коже преда́хъ ва́мъ, преда̑нїѧ держитѐ.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Хощꙋ́ же ва́съ вѣ́дѣти, ꙗ҆́кѡ всѧ́комꙋ мꙋ́жꙋ глава̀ хрⷭ҇то́съ є҆́сть, глава́ же женѣ̀ мꙋ́жъ, глава́ же хрⷭ҇тꙋ̀ бг҃ъ.

Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoreth his head. Всѧ́къ мꙋ́жъ, моли́твꙋ дѣ́ѧ и҆лѝ прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋѧй покры́тою главо́ю, срамлѧ́етъ главꙋ̀ свою̀:

But every woman praying or prophesying with her head unveiled dishonoreth her own head; for it is one and the same thing as if she were shaven. и҆ всѧ́ка жена̀, моли́твꙋ дѣ́ющаѧ и҆лѝ прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋющаѧ ѿкрове́нною главо́ю, срамлѧ́етъ главꙋ̀ свою̀: є҆ди́но бо є҆́сть и҆ то́жде [є҆́же бы́ти] ѡ҆стри́женнѣй:

For if a woman is not veiled, let her also be shorn: but if it is a shame to a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be veiled. а҆́ще бо не покрыва́етсѧ жена̀, да стриже́тсѧ: а҆́ще ли же сра́мъ женѣ̀ стри́щисѧ и҆лѝ бри́тисѧ, да покрыва́етсѧ.

For a man indeed ought not to have his head veiled, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but a woman is the glory of a man. Мꙋ́жъ оу҆́бѡ не до́лженъ є҆́сть покрыва́ти главꙋ̀, ѡ҆́бразъ и҆ сла́ва бж҃їѧ сы́й: жена́ же сла́ва мꙋ́жꙋ є҆́сть.

For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man: (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃и҃.) Нѣ́сть бо мꙋ́жъ ѿ жены̀, но жена̀ ѿ мꙋ́жа:

for neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man: и҆́бо не со́зданъ бы́сть мꙋ́жъ жены̀ ра́ди, но жена̀ мꙋ́жа ра́ди.

for this cause ought the woman to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. Сегѡ̀ ра́ди должна̀ є҆́сть жена̀ вла́сть и҆мѣ́ти на главѣ̀ а҆́гг҃лъ ра́ди.

Nevertheless, neither is the man without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in the Lord. Ѻ҆ба́че ни мꙋ́жъ без̾ жены̀, ни жена̀ без̾ мꙋ́жа, ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ.

For as the woman is of the man, so is the man also by the woman; but all things are of God. Ꙗ҆́коже бо жена̀ ѿ мꙋ́жа, си́це и҆ мꙋ́жъ жено́ю: всѧ̑ же ѿ бг҃а.

Judge ye in yourselves: is it seemly that a woman pray unto God unveiled? Въ ва́съ самѣ́хъ сꙋди́те, лѣ́по ли є҆́сть женѣ̀ ѿкрове́ннѣй бг҃ꙋ моли́тисѧ;

Or doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a dishonor to him? И҆лѝ и҆ не са́мое є҆стество̀ оу҆чи́тъ вы̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ мꙋ́жъ оу҆́бѡ а҆́ще власы̀ расти́тъ, безче́стїе є҆мꙋ̀ є҆́сть,

But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given for a covering. жена́ же а҆́ще власы̀ расти́тъ, сла́ва є҆́й є҆́сть; занѐ растѣ́нїе власѡ́въ вмѣ́стѡ ѡ҆дѣѧ́нїѧ дано̀ бы́сть є҆́й.

But if any man seemeth to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God. А҆́ще ли кто̀ мни́тсѧ спо́рливъ бы́ти, мы̀ такова́гѡ ѡ҆бы́чаѧ не и҆́мамы, нижѐ цр҃кви бж҃їѧ.

But in giving you this charge, I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better but for the worse. Сїе́ же завѣщава́ѧ не хвалю̀, ꙗ҆́кѡ не на лꙋ́чшее, но на хꙋ́ждшее сбира́етесѧ.

For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that divisions exist among you; and I partly believe it. Пе́рвое оу҆́бѡ, сходѧ́щымсѧ ва́мъ въ цр҃ковь, слы́шꙋ въ ва́съ ра̑спри сꙋ́щыѧ, и҆ ча́сть нѣ́кꙋю (си́хъ) вѣ́рꙋю.

For there must be also factions among you, that they that are approved may be made manifest among you. Подоба́етъ бо и҆ є҆ресе́мъ въ ва́съ бы́ти, да и҆скꙋ́снїи ꙗ҆вле́ни быва́ютъ въ ва́съ.

When therefore ye assemble yourselves together, it is not possible to eat the Lord’s supper: Сходѧ́щымсѧ оу҆̀бо ва́мъ вкꙋ́пѣ, нѣ́сть гдⷭ҇скꙋю ве́черю ꙗ҆́сти:

for in your eating each one taketh before other his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunken. кі́йждо бо свою̀ ве́черю предварѧ́етъ въ снѣде́нїе, и҆ ѻ҆́въ оу҆́бѡ а҆́лчетъ, ѻ҆́въ же оу҆пива́етсѧ.

What, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and put them to shame that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. Є҆да́ бо домѡ́въ не и҆́мате, во є҆́же ꙗ҆́сти и҆ пи́ти; И҆лѝ ѡ҆ цр҃кви бж҃їей нерадитѐ и҆ срамлѧ́ете не и҆мꙋ́щыѧ; Что̀ ва́мъ рекꙋ̀; похвалю́ ли вы̀ ѡ҆ се́мъ; Не похвалю̀.

For I received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread; (Заⷱ҇ р҃м҃ѳ҃.) А҆́зъ бо прїѧ́хъ ѿ гдⷭ҇а, є҆́же и҆ преда́хъ ва́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ гдⷭ҇ь і҆и҃съ въ но́щь, въ ню́же пре́данъ быва́ше, прїе́мь хлѣ́бъ,

and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take; eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. и҆ бл҃годари́въ преломѝ, и҆ речѐ: прїими́те, ꙗ҆ди́те, сїѐ є҆́сть тѣ́ло моѐ, є҆́же за вы̀ ломи́мое: сїѐ твори́те въ моѐ воспомина́нїе.

In like manner also the cup, after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. Та́кожде и҆ ча́шꙋ по ве́чери, гл҃ѧ: сїѧ̀ ча́ша но́вый завѣ́тъ є҆́сть въ мое́й кро́ви: сїѐ твори́те, є҆ли́жды а҆́ще пїе́те, въ моѐ воспомина́нїе.

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye proclaim the Lord’s death till he come. Є҆ли́жды бо а҆́ще ꙗ҆́сте хлѣ́бъ се́й и҆ ча́шꙋ сїю̀ пїе́те, см҃рть гдⷭ҇ню возвѣща́ете, до́ндеже прїи́детъ.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread or drink the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, shall be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. Тѣ́мже и҆́же а҆́ще ꙗ҆́стъ хлѣ́бъ се́й и҆лѝ пїе́тъ ча́шꙋ гдⷭ҇ню недосто́йнѣ, пови́ненъ бꙋ́детъ тѣ́лꙋ и҆ кро́ви гдⷭ҇ни.

But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. Да и҆скꙋша́етъ же человѣ́къ себѐ, и҆ та́кѡ ѿ хлѣ́ба да ꙗ҆́стъ и҆ ѿ ча́ши да пїе́тъ.

For he that eateth and drinketh in an unworthy manner, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, since he discerneth not the body of the Lord. Ꙗ҆ды́й бо и҆ пїѧ́й недосто́йнѣ, сꙋ́дъ себѣ̀ ꙗ҆́стъ и҆ пїе́тъ, не разсꙋжда́ѧ тѣ́ла гдⷭ҇нѧ.

For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep. Сегѡ̀ ра́ди въ ва́съ мно́зи не́мощни и҆ недꙋ́жливи, и҆ спѧ́тъ (оу҆сыпа́ютъ) дово́лни.

For if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged. (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃.) А҆́ще бо бы́хомъ себѐ разсꙋжда́ли, не бы́хомъ ѡ҆сꙋжде́ни бы́ли.

But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. Сꙋди́ми же, ѿ гдⷭ҇а наказꙋ́емсѧ, да не съ мі́ромъ ѡ҆сꙋ́димсѧ.

Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, wait one for another. Тѣ́мже, бра́тїе моѧ̑, сходѧ́щесѧ ꙗ҆́сти, дрꙋ́гъ дрꙋ́га жди́те.

And if any man is hungry, let him eat at home; that your coming together be not unto judgment. And the rest will I set in order whensoever I come. А҆́ще ли кто̀ а҆́лчетъ, въ домꙋ̀ да ꙗ҆́стъ, да не въ грѣ́хъ схо́дитесѧ. Ѡ҆ про́чихъ же, є҆гда̀ прїидꙋ̀, оу҆стро́ю.
Chapter 12
Глава́ в҃і
1

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ѡ҆ дꙋхо́вныхъ же, бра́тїе, не хощꙋ̀ ва́съ не вѣ́дѣти.

Ye know that when ye were Gentiles ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might be led. Вѣ́сте, ꙗ҆́кѡ є҆гда̀ невѣ́рни бѣ́сте, ко і҆́дѡлѡмъ безгла̑снымъ ꙗ҆́кѡ ведо́ми ведо́стесѧ.

Wherefore I make known unto you, that no man speaking in the Spirit of God calleth Jesus anathema; and no man can call Jesus Lord, but in the Holy Spirit. Тѣ́мже сказꙋ́ю ва́мъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ никто́же, дх҃омъ бж҃їимъ глаго́лѧй, рече́тъ а҆на́ѳема і҆и҃са, и҆ никто́же мо́жетъ рещѝ гдⷭ҇а і҆и҃са, то́чїю дх҃омъ ст҃ы́мъ.

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. Раздѣлє́нїѧ же дарова́нїй сꙋ́ть, а҆ то́йжде дх҃ъ:

And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord. и҆ раздѣлє́нїѧ слꙋже́нїй сꙋ́ть, а҆ то́йжде гдⷭ҇ь:

And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God who worketh all things in all. и҆ раздѣлє́нїѧ дѣ́йствъ сꙋ́ть, а҆ то́йжде є҆́сть бг҃ъ, дѣ́йствꙋѧй всѧ̑ во всѣ́хъ.

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal. (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃а҃.) Комꙋ́ждо же дае́тсѧ ꙗ҆вле́нїе дх҃а на по́льзꙋ:

but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will. Всѧ̑ же сїѧ̑ дѣ́йствꙋетъ є҆ди́нъ и҆ то́йжде дх҃ъ, раздѣлѧ́ѧ вла́стїю коемꙋ́ждо ꙗ҆́коже хо́щетъ.

For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink into one Spirit. If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? А҆́ще всѐ тѣ́ло ѻ҆́ко, гдѣ̀ слꙋ́хъ; а҆́ще (же) всѐ слꙋ́хъ, гдѣ̀ оу҆ха́нїе;

But now they are many members, but one body. Нн҃ѣ же мно́зи оу҆́бѡ оу҆́дове, є҆ди́но же тѣ́ло.

And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Не мо́жетъ же ѻ҆́ко рещѝ рꙋцѣ̀: не тре́бѣ мѝ є҆сѝ: и҆лѝ па́ки глава̀ нога́ма: не тре́бѣ мѝ є҆стѐ.

Nay, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary: Но мно́гѡ па́че, мнѧ́щїисѧ оу҆́ди тѣ́ла немощнѣ́йши бы́ти, нꙋ́жнѣйши сꙋ́ть,

and those parts of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness; и҆ и҆̀хже мни́мъ безче́стнѣйшихъ бы́ти тѣ́ла, си̑мъ че́сть мно́жайшꙋю прилага́емъ:

whereas our comely parts have no need: but God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked; и҆ неблагоѡбра́знїи на́ши благоѡбра́зїе мно́жайше и҆́мꙋтъ, а҆ благоѡбра́знїи на́ши не тре́бѣ и҆́мꙋтъ. Но бг҃ъ растворѝ тѣ́ло, хꙋдѣ́йшемꙋ бо́лшꙋ да́въ че́сть,

that there should be no schisms in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. да не бꙋ́детъ ра́спри въ тѣлесѝ, но да то́жде въ себѣ̀ (да ра́внѡ є҆ди́нъ ѡ҆ дрꙋзѣ́мъ) пекꙋ́тсѧ оу҆́ди.

And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. И҆ а҆́ще стра́ждетъ є҆ди́нъ оу҆́дъ, съ ни́мъ стра́ждꙋтъ всѝ оу҆́ди: а҆́ще ли же сла́витсѧ є҆ди́нъ оу҆́дъ, съ ни́мъ ра́дꙋютсѧ всѝ оу҆́ди.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, afterward miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diverse kinds of tongues. If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. А҆́ще ѧ҆зы̑ки человѣ́ческими глаго́лю и҆ а҆́гг҃лскими, любве́ же не и҆́мамъ, бы́хъ (ꙗ҆́кѡ) мѣ́дь звенѧ́щи, и҆лѝ кѷмва́лъ звѧца́ѧй.

And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. И҆ а҆́ще и҆́мамъ прⷪ҇ро́чество, и҆ вѣ́мъ та̑йны всѧ̑ и҆ ве́сь ра́зꙋмъ, и҆ а҆́ще и҆́мамъ всю̀ вѣ́рꙋ, ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆ го́ры преставлѧ́ти, любве́ же не и҆́мамъ, ничто́же є҆́смь.

And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing. И҆ а҆́ще разда́мъ всѧ̑ и҆мѣ̑нїѧ моѧ̑, и҆ а҆́ще преда́мъ тѣ́ло моѐ, во є҆́же сжещѝ є҆̀, любве́ же не и҆́мамъ, ни ка́ѧ по́льза мѝ є҆́сть.

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃д҃.) Любы̀ долготерпи́тъ, милосе́рдствꙋетъ, любы̀ не зави́дитъ, любы̀ не превозно́ситсѧ, не горди́тсѧ,

doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil; не безчи́нствꙋетъ, не и҆́щетъ свои́хъ сѝ, не раздража́етсѧ, не мы́слитъ ѕла̀,

rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth; не ра́дꙋетсѧ ѡ҆ непра́вдѣ, ра́дꙋетсѧ же ѡ҆ и҆́стинѣ:

beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. всѧ̑ лю́битъ [покрыва́етъ], всемꙋ̀ вѣ́рꙋ є҆́млетъ, всѧ̑ оу҆пова́етъ, всѧ̑ терпи́тъ.

Love never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall be done away; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall be done away. Любы̀ николи́же ѿпа́даетъ, а҆́ще же прⷪ҇ро́чєствїѧ оу҆празднѧ́тсѧ, а҆́ще ли ѧ҆зы́цы оу҆мо́лкнꙋтъ, а҆́ще ра́зꙋмъ и҆спраздни́тсѧ.

But we know in part, and we prophesy in part; Ѿ ча́сти бо разꙋмѣва́емъ и҆ ѿ ча́сти прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋемъ:

yet when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. є҆гда́ же прїи́детъ соверше́нное, тогда̀, є҆́же ѿ ча́сти, оу҆праздни́тсѧ.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: but now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things. (Заⷱ҇.) Є҆гда̀ бѣ́хъ младе́нецъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ младе́нецъ глаго́лахъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ младе́нецъ мꙋ́дрствовахъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ младе́нецъ смышлѧ́хъ: є҆гда́ же бы́хъ мꙋ́жъ, ѿверго́хъ младе́нчєскаѧ.

For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known. Ви́димъ оу҆́бѡ нн҃ѣ ꙗ҆́коже зерца́ломъ въ гада́нїи, тогда́ же лице́мъ къ лицꙋ̀: нн҃ѣ разꙋмѣ́ю ѿ ча́сти, тогда́ же позна́ю, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ позна́нъ бы́хъ.

But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; and the greatest of these is love. Нн҃ѣ же пребыва́ютъ вѣ́ра, наде́жда, любы̀, трѝ сїѧ̑: бо́лши же си́хъ любы̀.

Follow after love; yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. Держи́тесѧ любвѐ: ревнꙋ́йте же дꙋхѡ́внымъ, па́че же да прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋете.

For he that speaketh in a tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no man understandeth; but in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. Глаго́лѧй бо ѧ҆зы̑ки, не человѣ́кѡмъ глаго́летъ, но бг҃ꙋ: никто́же бо слы́шитъ, дꙋ́хомъ же глаго́летъ та̑йны:

But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men edification, and exhortation, and consolation. прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋѧй же, человѣ́кѡмъ глаго́летъ созида́нїе и҆ оу҆тѣше́нїе и҆ оу҆твержде́нїе.

He that speaketh in a tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. Глаго́лѧй (бо) ѧ҆зы̑ки себѐ зи́ждетъ, а҆ прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋѧй цр҃ковь зи́ждетъ.

Now I would have you all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. Хощꙋ́ же всѣ́хъ ва́съ глаго́лати ѧ҆зы̑ки, па́че же да прорица́ете: бо́лїй бо прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋѧй, не́жели глаго́лѧй ѧ҆зы̑ки, ра́звѣ а҆́ще (кто̀) сказꙋ́етъ, да цр҃ковь созида́нїе прїе́млетъ.

But now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching? (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃е҃.) Нн҃ѣ же, бра́тїе, а҆́ще прїидꙋ̀ къ ва́мъ ѧ҆зы̑ки глаго́лѧ, кꙋ́ю ва́мъ по́льзꙋ сотворю̀, а҆́ще ва́мъ не глаго́лю и҆лѝ во ѿкрове́нїи, и҆лѝ въ ра́зꙋмѣ, и҆лѝ въ прⷪ҇ро́чествїи, и҆лѝ въ наꙋче́нїи;

Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they give not a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? Ѻ҆ба́че бездꙋ̑шнаѧ гла́съ даю̑щаѧ, а҆́ще сопѣ́ль, а҆́ще гꙋ́сли, а҆́ще ра́знствїѧ писка́нїемъ не дадѧ́тъ, ка́кѡ разꙋ́мно бꙋ́детъ писка́нїе и҆лѝ гꙋде́нїе;

For if the trumpet give an uncertain voice, who shall prepare himself for war? И҆́бо а҆́ще безвѣ́стенъ гла́съ трꙋба̀ да́стъ, кто̀ оу҆гото́витсѧ на бра́нь;

So also ye, unless ye utter by the tongue speech easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye will be speaking into the air. Та́кѡ и҆ вы̀ а҆́ще не благоразꙋ́мно сло́во дадитѐ ѧ҆зы́комъ, ка́кѡ оу҆разꙋмѣ́етсѧ глаго́лемое; Бꙋ́дете бо на воздꙋ́хъ глаго́люще.

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Толи́цы оу҆́бѡ, а҆́ще ключи́тсѧ, ро́ди гласѡ́въ сꙋ́ть въ мі́рѣ, и҆ ни є҆ди́нъ и҆́хъ безгла́сенъ.

If then I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be to him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh will be a barbarian unto me. А҆́ще оу҆̀бо не оу҆вѣ́мъ си́лы гла́са, бꙋ́дꙋ глаго́лющемꙋ и҆ноѧзы́чникъ, и҆ глаго́лющїй мнѣ̀ и҆ноѧзы́чникъ.

So also ye, since ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may abound unto the edifying of the church. Та́кѡ и҆ вы̀, поне́же ревни́телє є҆стѐ дꙋховѡ́мъ, (ꙗ҆̀же) къ созида́нїю цр҃кве проси́те [и҆щи́те], да и҆збы́точествꙋете.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in a tongue pray that he may interpret. Тѣ́мже глаго́лѧй ѧ҆зы́комъ да мо́литсѧ, да сказꙋ́етъ.

For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. А҆́ще бо молю́сѧ ѧ҆зы́комъ, дꙋ́хъ мо́й мо́литсѧ, а҆ оу҆́мъ мо́й без̾ плода̀ є҆́сть.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Что̀ оу҆̀бо є҆́сть; Помолю́сѧ дꙋ́хомъ, помолю́сѧ же и҆ оу҆мо́мъ: воспою̀ дꙋ́хомъ, воспою́ же и҆ оу҆мо́мъ.

Else if thou bless with the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of the unlearned say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest? Поне́же а҆́ще благослови́ши дꙋ́хомъ, и҆сполнѧ́ѧй мѣ́сто невѣ́жды ка́кѡ рече́тъ а҆ми́нь, по твоемꙋ̀ благодаре́нїю; Поне́же не вѣ́сть, что̀ глаго́леши.

For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. Ты̀ оу҆́бѡ до́брѣ благодари́ши, но дрꙋгі́й не созида́етсѧ.

I thank my God speaking with tongues more than you all: Благодарю̀ бг҃а моего̀, па́че всѣ́хъ ва́съ ѧ҆зы̑ки глаго́лѧ:

howbeit in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. но въ цр҃кви хощꙋ̀ пѧ́ть слове́съ оу҆мо́мъ мои́мъ глаго́лати, да и҆ и҆́ны по́льзꙋю, не́жели тмы̑ слове́съ ѧ҆зы́комъ.

Brethren, be not children in mind: yet in malice be ye babes, but in mind be men. (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃ѕ҃.) Бра́тїе, не дѣ́ти быва́йте оу҆мы̑: но ѕло́бою младе́нствꙋйте, оу҆мы̑ же соверше́ни быва́йте.

In the law it is written, By men of strange tongues and by strange lips will I speak unto this people; and not even thus will they hear me, saith the Lord. Въ зако́нѣ пи́шетъ: ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆ны́ми ѧ҆зы̑ки и҆ оу҆стны̑ и҆ны́ми возгл҃ю лю́демъ си̑мъ, и҆ ни та́кѡ послꙋ́шаютъ менє̀, гл҃етъ гдⷭ҇ь.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to the unbelieving: but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to them that believe. Тѣ́мже ѧ҆зы́цы въ зна́менїе сꙋ́ть не вѣ́рꙋющымъ, но невѣ̑рнымъ: а҆ прⷪ҇ро́чество не невѣ̑рнымъ, но вѣ́рꙋющымъ.

If therefore the whole church be assembled together and all speak with tongues, and there come in men unlearned or unbelieving, will they not say that ye are mad? А҆́ще оу҆̀бо сни́детсѧ цр҃ковь всѧ̀ вкꙋ́пѣ, и҆ всѝ ѧ҆зы̑ки глаго́лютъ, вни́дꙋтъ же (и҆) неразꙋ́мивїи и҆лѝ невѣ́рнїи, не рекꙋ́тъ ли, ꙗ҆́кѡ бѣснꙋ́етесѧ;

But if all prophesy, and there come in one unbelieving or unlearned, he is reproved by all, he is judged by all; А҆́ще же всѝ прⷪ҇ро́чествꙋютъ, вни́детъ же нѣ́кїй невѣ́ренъ и҆лѝ невѣ́жда, ѡ҆блича́етсѧ всѣ́ми, (и҆) и҆стѧзꙋ́етсѧ ѿ всѣ́хъ,

and thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed. и҆ си́це та̑йнаѧ се́рдца є҆гѡ̀ ꙗ҆влє́на быва́ютъ: и҆ та́кѡ па́дъ ни́цъ покло́нитсѧ бг҃ови, возвѣща́ѧ, ꙗ҆́кѡ вои́стиннꙋ бг҃ъ съ ва́ми є҆́сть.

What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each one of you hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃з҃.) If any man speaketh in a tongue, let it be by two, or at the most three, and that in turn; and let one interpret: А҆́ще ѧ҆зы́комъ кто̀ глаго́летъ, по двѣма̀, и҆лѝ мно́жае по трїе́мъ, и҆ по ча́сти: и҆ є҆ди́нъ да сказꙋ́етъ.

but if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. А҆́ще ли не бꙋ́детъ сказа́тель, да молчи́тъ въ цр҃кви, себѣ́ же да глаго́летъ и҆ бг҃ови.

And let the prophets speak by two or three, and let the others discern. Прⷪ҇ро́цы же два̀ и҆лѝ трїѐ да глаго́лютъ, и҆ дрꙋзі́и да разсꙋжда́ютъ:

But if a revelation be made to another sitting by, let the first keep silence. а҆́ще ли и҆но́мꙋ ѿкры́етсѧ сѣдѧ́щꙋ, пе́рвый да молчи́тъ.

For ye all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted; Мо́жете бо всѝ по є҆ди́номꙋ прⷪ҇ро́чествовати, да всѝ оу҆ча́тсѧ и҆ всѝ оу҆тѣша́ютсѧ.

and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets; И҆ дꙋ́си прⷪ҇ро́честїи прⷪ҇ро́кѡмъ повинꙋ́ютсѧ:

for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints. нѣ́сть бо нестрое́нїѧ бг҃ъ, но ми́ра, ꙗ҆́кѡ во всѣ́хъ цр҃квахъ ст҃ы́хъ.

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but to be in subjection, as also saith the law. Жєны̀ ва́шѧ въ цр҃квахъ да молча́тъ: не повелѣ́сѧ бо и҆̀мъ глаго́лати, но повинова́тисѧ, ꙗ҆́коже и҆ зако́нъ глаго́летъ.

by which also ye are saved, if ye hold fast the word which I preached unto you, except ye believed in vain. и҆́мже и҆ спаса́етесѧ, ка́цѣмъ сло́вомъ благовѣсти́хъ ва́мъ, а҆́ще содержитѐ: ра́звѣ а҆́ще не всꙋ́е вѣ́ровасте.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; Преда́хъ бо ва́мъ и҆спе́рва, є҆́же и҆ прїѧ́хъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ хрⷭ҇то́съ оу҆́мре грѣ̑хъ на́шихъ ра́ди, по писа́нїємъ,

then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some also are fallen asleep; пото́мъ же ꙗ҆ви́сѧ бо́лѣ пѧтѝ сѡ́тъ бра́тїѧмъ є҆ди́ною, ѿ ни́хже мно́жайшїи пребыва́ютъ досе́лѣ, нѣ́цыи же и҆ почи́ша:

then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles; пото́мъ же ꙗ҆ви́сѧ і҆а́кѡвꙋ, та́же а҆пⷭ҇лѡмъ всѣ́мъ:

and last of all, as to the child untimely born, he appeared to me also. послѣди́ же всѣ́хъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ нѣ́коемꙋ и҆́звергꙋ, ꙗ҆ви́сѧ и҆ мнѣ̀.

For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. А҆́зъ бо є҆́смь мні́й а҆пⷭ҇лѡвъ, и҆́же нѣ́смь досто́инъ нарещи́сѧ а҆пⷭ҇лъ, занѐ гони́хъ цр҃ковь бж҃їю.

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? (Заⷱ҇ р҃н҃ѳ҃.) А҆́ще же хрⷭ҇то́съ проповѣ́дꙋетсѧ, ꙗ҆́кѡ и҆з̾ ме́ртвыхъ воста̀, ка́кѡ глаго́лютъ нѣ́цыи въ ва́съ, ꙗ҆́кѡ воскрⷭ҇нїѧ ме́ртвыхъ нѣ́сть;

But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised: И҆ а҆́ще воскрⷭ҇нїѧ ме́ртвыхъ нѣ́сть, то̀ ни хрⷭ҇то́съ воста̀:

and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, and your faith also is vain. а҆́ще же хрⷭ҇то́съ не воста̀, тщѐ оу҆́бѡ проповѣ́данїе на́ше, тща́ же и҆ вѣ́ра ва́ша.

Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised. Ѡ҆брѣта́емсѧ же и҆ лжесвидѣ́телє бж҃їи, ꙗ҆́кѡ послꙋ́шествовахомъ на бг҃а, ꙗ҆́кѡ воскр҃сѝ хрⷭ҇та̀, є҆гѡ́же не воскр҃сѝ, а҆́ще оу҆́бѡ ме́ртвїи не востаю́тъ:

and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. а҆́ще же хрⷭ҇то́съ не воста̀, сꙋ́етна вѣ́ра ва́ша, є҆щѐ є҆стѐ во грѣсѣ́хъ ва́шихъ:

Then they also that are fallen asleep in Christ have perished. оу҆́бѡ и҆ оу҆ме́ршїи ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀, погибо́ша.

If we have only hoped in Christ in this life, we are of all men most pitiable. (И҆) а҆́ще въ животѣ̀ се́мъ то́чїю оу҆пова́юще є҆смы̀ во хрⷭ҇та̀, ѡ҆каѧ́ннѣйши всѣ́хъ человѣ̑къ є҆смы̀.

But now hath Christ been raised from the dead; he became the firstfruits of them that are asleep. (Заⷱ҇ р҃ѯ҃.) Нн҃ѣ же хрⷭ҇то́съ воста̀ ѿ ме́ртвыхъ, нача́токъ оу҆ме́ршымъ бы́сть.

Then cometh the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power. Та́же кончи́на, є҆гда̀ преда́стъ црⷭ҇тво бг҃ꙋ и҆ ѻ҆ц҃ꙋ̀, є҆гда̀ и҆спраздни́тъ всѧ́ко нача́лство и҆ всѧ́кꙋ вла́сть и҆ си́лꙋ:

For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet. подоба́етъ бо є҆мꙋ̀ црⷭ҇твовати, до́ндеже положи́тъ всѧ̑ врагѝ под̾ нога́ма свои́ма.

The last enemy that shall be abolished is death. Послѣ́днїй же вра́гъ и҆спраздни́тсѧ сме́рть,

For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him. всѧ̑ бо покорѝ под̾ но́зѣ є҆гѡ̀: внегда́ же рещѝ, ꙗ҆́кѡ всѧ̑ покорє́на сꙋ́ть є҆мꙋ̀, ꙗ҆́вѣ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ра́звѣ поко́ршагѡ є҆мꙋ̀ всѧ̑.

And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all. why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour? Почто́ (же) и҆ мы̀ бѣды̑ прїе́млемъ на всѧ́къ ча́съ;

I protest by that glorying in you, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. По всѧ̑ дни̑ оу҆мира́ю: та́кѡ мѝ ва́ша похвала̀, бра́тїе, ю҆́же и҆́мамъ ѡ҆ хрⷭ҇тѣ̀ і҆и҃сѣ гдⷭ҇ѣ на́шемъ.

If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me, if the dead are not raised? Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. А҆́ще (бо) по человѣ́кꙋ со ѕвѣ́ремъ борѧ́хсѧ въ є҆фе́сѣ, ка́ѧ мѝ по́льза, а҆́ще ме́ртвїи не востаю́тъ; Да ꙗ҆́мы и҆ пїе́мъ, оу҆́трѣ бо оу҆́мремъ.

Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals. Не льсти́тесѧ: тлѧ́тъ ѡ҆бы̑чаи бл҃ги бесѣ̑ды ѕлы̑.

Awake to soberness righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I say this to move you to shame. И҆стрезви́тесѧ првⷣнѡ и҆ не согрѣша́йте: невѣ́дѣнїе бо бж҃їе нѣ́цыи и҆́мꙋтъ, къ сра́мꙋ ва́мъ глаго́лю.

But someone will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come? Но рече́тъ нѣ́кто: ка́кѡ воста́нꙋтъ ме́ртвїи; ко́имъ же тѣ́ломъ прїи́дꙋтъ;

Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened except it die: Безꙋ́мне, ты̀ є҆́же сѣ́еши, не ѡ҆живе́тъ, а҆́ще не оу҆́мретъ:

and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind; и҆ є҆́же сѣ́еши, не тѣ́ло бꙋ́дꙋщее сѣ́еши, но голо̀ зе́рно, а҆́ще слꙋчи́тсѧ, пшени́цы и҆лѝ и҆но́гѡ ѿ про́чихъ:

but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed its own body. бг҃ъ же дае́тъ є҆мꙋ̀ тѣ́ло, ꙗ҆́коже восхо́щетъ, и҆ коемꙋ́ждо сѣ́мени своѐ тѣ́ло.

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another of fish, and another of birds. (Заⷱ҇ р҃ѯ҃в҃.) Не всѧ́ка пло́ть та́же пло́ть: но и҆́на оу҆́бѡ пло́ть человѣ́кѡмъ, и҆́на же пло́ть скотѡ́мъ, и҆́на же ры́бамъ, и҆́на же пти́цамъ.

Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I gave order to the churches of Galatia, so also do ye. Ѡ҆ ми́лостыни же, ꙗ҆́же ко ст҃ы̑мъ, ꙗ҆́коже оу҆стро́ихъ цр҃квамъ галаті̑йскимъ, та́кѡ и҆ вы̀ сотворѧ́йте:

Upon the first day of the week let each one of you lay by him in store, as he may be prospered, that no collections be made when I come. по є҆ди́нѣй ѿ сꙋббѡ́тъ кі́йждо ва́съ да полага́етъ оу҆ себє̀ сохранѧ́ѧ, є҆́же а҆́ще что̀ благопоспѣши́тсѧ, да не є҆гда̀ прїидꙋ̀, тогда̀ собра̑нїѧ быва́ютъ.

And when I arrive, whomsoever ye shall approve by letters, them will I send to carry your bounty unto Jerusalem: Є҆гда́ же прїидꙋ̀, и҆̀хже а҆́ще и҆скꙋ́сите, съ посла́ньми си́хъ послю̀ ѿнестѝ благода́ть ва́шꙋ во і҆ерⷭ҇ли́мъ.

Now I beseech you, brethren (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have set themselves to minister unto the saints), Молю́ же вы̀, бра́тїе: вѣ́сте до́мъ стефани́новъ, ꙗ҆́кѡ є҆́сть нача́токъ а҆ха́їи, и҆ въ слꙋже́нїе ст҃ы̑мъ оу҆чини́ша себѐ:

that ye also be in subjection unto such, and to everyone that helpeth in the work and laboreth. да и҆ вы̀ повинꙋ́йтесѧ таковы́мъ и҆ всѧ́комꙋ споспѣ́шствꙋющꙋ и҆ трꙋжда́ющꙋсѧ.

And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they supplied. Возра́довахсѧ же ѡ҆ прише́ствїи стефани́новѣ и҆ фꙋртꙋна́товѣ и҆ а҆ха́їковѣ, ꙗ҆́кѡ ва́ше лише́нїе сі́и и҆спо́лниша:

For they refreshed my spirit and yours: acknowledge ye therefore them that are such. оу҆поко́иша бо мо́й дꙋ́хъ и҆ ва́шъ. Познава́йте оу҆̀бо такѡвы́ѧ.

The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. Цѣлꙋ́ютъ вы̀ цр҃кви а҆сі̑йскїѧ: цѣлꙋ́ютъ вы̀ ѡ҆ гдⷭ҇ѣ мно́гѡ а҆кѵ́ла и҆ прїскі́лла съ дома́шнею и҆́хъ цр҃ковїю.

All the brethren salute you. Salute one another with a holy kiss. Цѣлꙋ́ютъ вы̀ бра́тїѧ всѧ̑. Цѣлꙋ́йте дрꙋ́гъ дрꙋ́га лобза́нїемъ ст҃ы́мъ.
