| The former treatise I made, O Theophilus, concerning all that Jesus began both to do and to teach, | (Зач. 1) Пе́рвоє у́бо сло́во сотвори́х о всіх, о Фео́філе, я́же нача́т Ісу́с твори́ти же і учи́ти |

| until the day in which he was received up, after that he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit unto the apostles whom he had chosen: | да́же до дне, в о́ньже, запові́дав апо́столом Ду́хом Святи́м, ї́хже ізбра́, вознесе́ся; |
|

| to whom he also showed himself alive after his passion by many proofs, appearing unto them by the space of forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God: | пред ни́миже і поста́ви Себе́ жи́ва по страда́нії Своє́м во мно́зіх і́стинних зна́меніїх, де́ньми чети́редесятьми явля́яся їм і глаго́ля я́же о Ца́рствії Бо́жиї; |

| and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me: | с ни́миже і яди́й повелі́ їм от Ієрусали́ма не отлуча́тися, но жда́ти обітова́нія О́тча, є́же сли́шасте от Мене́; |

| for John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence. | я́ко Іоа́нн у́бо крести́л єсть водо́ю, ви же і́мате крести́тися Ду́хом Святи́м не по мно́зіх сих днех. |

| They therefore, when they were come together, asked him, saying, Lord, dost thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel? | Они́ же у́бо соше́дшеся вопроша́ху Єго́, глаго́люще: Го́споди, а́ще в лі́то сіє́ устроя́єши ца́рствіє Ізра́їлево? |

| And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within his own authority. | Рече́ же к ним: ність ва́ше разумі́ти времена́ і лі́та, я́же Оте́ць положи́ во Своє́й вла́сті; |
|

| But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. | но при́ймете си́лу, наше́дшу Свято́му Ду́ху на ви, і бу́дете Мі свиді́теліє во Ієрусали́мі же і во всей Іуде́ї і Самарі́ї і да́же до послі́дніх землі́. |

| And when he had said these things, as they were looking, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. | І сія́ рек, зря́щим їм взя́тся, і о́блак под'я́т Єго́ от о́чію їх. |

| And while they were looking steadfastly into heaven as he went, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; | І єгда́ взира́юще бя́ху на не́бо, іду́щу Єму́, і се му́жа два ста́ста пред ни́ми во оде́жді білі́, |
|

|
| who also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing into heaven? this Jesus, who was received up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye beheld him going into heaven. | я́же і реко́ста: «Му́жіє галиле́йстії, что стоїте́ зря́ще на не́бо? Сей Ісу́с, вознеси́йся от вас на не́бо, тако́жде при́йдеть, і́мже о́бразом ви́дісте Єго́ іду́ща на не́бо». |

| Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is nigh unto Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey off. | (Зач. 2) Тогда́ возврати́шася во Ієрусали́м от гори́ нарица́ємия Єлео́н, я́же єсть близ Ієрусали́ма, субо́ти іму́щия путь. |

| And when they were come in, they went up into the upper chamber, where they were abiding; both Peter and James and John and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. | І єгда́ внидо́ша, взидо́ша на го́рницю, іді́же бя́ху пребива́юще, Петр же і Іа́ков, і Іоа́нн і Андре́й, Фили́пп і Фома́, Варфоломе́й і Матфе́й, Іа́ков Алфе́йов, і Си́мон Зило́т, і Іу́да Іа́ковль; |

| These all with one accord continued steadfastly in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. | сі́ї всі бя́ху терп'я́ще єдиноду́шно в моли́тві і моле́нії, с жена́ми і Марі́єю, Ма́терію Ісу́совою, і с бра́тією Єго́. |

| And in these days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said (and there was a multitude of persons gathered together, about a hundred and twenty), | І во дні ти́я воста́в Петр посреді́ учени́к, рече́, |

| Brethren, it was needful that this scripture should be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spake before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus. | бі же іме́н наро́да вку́пі я́ко сто і два́десять: «Му́жіє бра́тіє, подоба́ше сконча́тися Писа́нію сему́, є́же предрече́ Дух Святи́й усти́ Дави́довими о Іу́ді, би́вшем вожді́ є́мшим Ісу́са; |

| For he was numbered with us, and received his portion in this ministry. | я́ко причте́н бі с на́ми і прия́л бя́ше жре́бій слу́жби сея́; |
|

| (Now this man obtained a field with the reward of his iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. | сей у́бо стяжа́ село́ от мзди непра́ведния, і ниць бив просі́деся посреді́, і ізлія́ся вся утро́ба єго́; |

| And it became known to all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch that in their proper language that field was called Akeldama, that is, The field of blood.) | і разу́мно бисть всім живу́щим во Ієрусали́мі, я́ко нарещи́ся селу́ тому́ свої́м їх язи́ком «Акелдама́», є́же єсть «Село́ кро́ве»; |

| For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be made desolate, And let no man dwell therein: and, His office let another take. | пи́шеться бо в кни́зі Псало́мстій: «Да бу́деть двор єго́ пуст, і да не бу́деть живу́щаго в нем, і єпи́скопство єго́ да при́йметь ін»; |

| Of the men therefore that have companied with us all the time in which the Lord Jesus went in and went out among us, | подоба́єть у́бо от сходи́вшихся с на́ми муже́й во вся́ко лі́то, в не́же вни́де і ізи́де в нас Госпо́дь Ісу́с, |

| beginning from the baptism of John, unto the day that he was received up from us, of these must one become a witness with us of his resurrection. | наче́н от креще́нія Іоа́ннова да́же до дне, в о́ньже вознесе́ся (на не́бо) от нас, свиді́телю воскресе́нія Єго́ би́ти с на́ми єди́ному от сих». |

| And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. | І поста́виша два, Іо́сифа, нарица́ємаго Варса́ву, і́же нарече́н бисть Іу́ст, і Матфі́я, |

| And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, show of these two the one whom thou hast chosen, | і помоли́вшеся рі́ша: «Ти, Го́споди, Сердцеві́дче всіх, покажи́, єго́же ізбра́л єси́ от сею́ двою́ єди́наго, |

| to take the portion in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas fell away, that he might go to his own place. | прия́ти жре́бій служе́нія сего́ і апо́стольства, із него́же іспаде́ Іу́да, іти́ в мі́сто своє́». |

| And they gave their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. | І да́ша жре́бія ї́ма, і паде́ жре́бій на Матфі́я, і причте́н бисть ко єдинона́десяти апо́столом. |
