| ΚΑΙ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ᾠκοδομήθη τὸ τεῖχος, καὶ ἔστησα τάς θύρας, καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ἄδοντες καὶ οἱ Λευῖται. | And it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed, |

| καὶ ἐνετειλάμην τῷ ᾿Ανανίᾳ ἀδελφῷ μου καὶ τῷ ᾿Ανανίᾳ ἄρχοντι τῆς βιρὰ ἐν ῾Ιερουσαλήμ, ὅτι αὐτὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ ἀληθὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν Θεὸν παρὰ πολλούς, | that I gave charge to Ananias my brother, and Ananias the ruler of the palace, over Jerusalem: for he was a true man, and one that feared God beyond many. |

| καὶ εἶπα αὐτοῖς· οὐκ ἀνοιγήσονται πύλαι ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ ἕως ἅμα τῷ ἡλίῳ, καὶ ἔτι αὐτῶν γρηγορούντων κλειέσθωσαν αἱ θύραι καὶ σφηνούσθωσαν· καὶ στῆσον προφύλακας οἰκούντων ἐν ῾Ιερουσαλήμ, ἀνὴρ ἐν προφυλακῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀνὴρ ἀπέναντι οἰκίας αὐτοῦ. | And I said to them, The gates of Jerusalem shall not be opened till sunrise; and while they are still watching, let the doors be shut, and bolted; and set watches of them that dwell in Jerusalem, every man at his post, and every man over against his house. |

| Καὶ ἡ πόλις πλατεῖα καὶ μεγάλη, καὶ ὁ λαὸς ὀλίγος ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ οὐκ ἦσαν οἰκίαι ᾠκοδομημέναι. | Now the city was wide and large; and the people were few in it, and the houses were not built. |

| καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ Θεὸς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ συνῆξα τοὺς ἐντίμους καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνοδίας· καὶ εὗρον βιβλίον τῆς συνοδίας, οἳ ἀνέβησαν ἐν πρώτοις, καὶ εὗρον γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῷ. | And God put it into my heart, and I gathered the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, into companies: and I found a register of the company that came up first, and I found written in it as follows: |

| καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῆς χώρας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς ἀποικίας, ἧς ἀπῴκισε Ναβουχοδονόσορ ὁ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς ῾Ιερουσαλὴμ καὶ εἰς ᾿Ιούδα ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ | Now these are the children of the country, that came up from captivity, of the number which Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon carried away, and they returned to Jerusalem and to Juda, every man to his city; |

| μετὰ Ζοροβάβελ καὶ ᾿Ιησοῦ καὶ Νεεμία ᾿Αζαρία καὶ Ρεελμὰ Ναεμανί, Μαρδοχαῖος, Βαλσάν, Μασφαράθ, ῎Εσδρα, Βογουΐα, ᾿Ιναούμ, Βαανά, Μασφάρ, ἄνδρες λαοῦ ᾿Ισραήλ· | with Zorobabel, and Jesus, and Neemia, Azaria, and Reelma, Naemani, Mardochaeus, Balsan, Maspharath, Esdra, Boguia, Inaum, Baana, Masphar, men of the people of Israel. |

| υἱοὶ Φαὰθ Μωὰβ τοῖς υἱοῖς ᾿Ιησοῦ καὶ ᾿Ιωὰβ δισχίλιοι ἑξακόσιοι δεκαοκτώ· | The children of Phaath Moab, with the children of Jesus and Joab, two thousand six hundred and eighteen. |

| υἱοὶ Βανουΐ ἑξακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταοκτώ· | The children of Banui, six hundred and forty-eight. |

| υἱοὶ Βηβὶ ἑξακόσιοι εἰκοσιοκτώ· | The children of Bebi, six hundred and twenty-eight. |

| ἄνδρες Βηθασμὼθ τεσσαρακονταδύο· | The men of Bethasmoth, forty-two. |

| ἄνδρες Καριαθαρίμ, Καφιρὰ καὶ Βηρὼθ ἑπτακόσιοι τεσσαρακοντατρεῖς· | The men of Cariatharim, Caphira, and Beroth, seven hundred and forty-three. |

| ἄνδρες ᾿Αραμὰ καὶ Γαβαὰ ἑξακόσιοι εἴκοσιν· | The men of Arama and Gabaa, six hundred and twenty. |

| ἄνδρες Μαχεμὰς ἑκατὸν εἰκοσιδύο· | The men of Machemas, a hundred and twenty-two. |

| πάντες οἱ ναθινίμ, καὶ υἱοὶ δούλων Σαλωμών, τριακόσιοι ἐνενηκονταδύο. | All the Nathinim, and children of the servants of Solomon, were three hundred and ninety-two. |

| καὶ οὗτοι ἀνέβησαν ἀπὸ Θελμελέθ, Θελαρησά, Χαρούβ, ᾿Ηρών, ᾿Ιεμὴρ καὶ οὐκ ἐδυνάσθησαν ἀπαγγεῖλαι οἴκους πατριῶν αὐτῶν καὶ σπέρμα αὐτῶν εἰ ἀπὸ ᾿Ισραήλ εἰσιν· | And these went up from Thelmeleth, Thelaresa, Charub, Eron, Jemer: but they could not declare the houses of their families, or their seed, whether they were of Israel. |

| καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἱερέων υἱοὶ ᾿Εβία, υἱοὶ ᾿Ακώς, υἱοὶ Βερζελλί, ὅτι ἔλαβον ἀπὸ θυγατέρων Βερζελλὶ τοῦ Γαλααδίτου γυναῖκας καὶ ἐκλήθησαν ἐπ’ ὀνόματι αὐτῶν· | And of the priests; the children of Ebia, the children of Acos, the children of Berzelli, for they took wives of the daughters of Berzelli the Galaadite, and they were called by their name. |

| οὗτοι ἐζήτησαν γραφὴν αὐτῶν τῆς συνοδίας, καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη, καὶ ἠγχιστεύθησαν ἀπὸ τῆς ἱερατείας, | These sought the pedigree of their company, and it was not found, and they were removed as polluted from the priesthood. |

| πάρεξ δούλων αὐτῶν καὶ παιδισκῶν αὐτῶν, οὗτοι ἑπτακισχίλιοι τριακόσιοι τριακονταεπτά· καὶ ᾄδοντες καὶ ᾄδουσαι διακόσιοι τεσσαρακονταπέντε· | besides their men-servants and their maid-servants: these were seven thousand three hundred and thirty seven: and the singing-men and singing-women, two hundred and forty-five. |

| ὄνοι δισχίλιοι ἑπτακόσιοι. | Two thousand seven hundred asses. |

| καὶ ἀπὸ μέρους ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς τὸ ἔργον τῷ Νεεμίᾳ εἰς θησαυρὸν χρυσοῦς χιλίους, φιάλας πεντήκοντα καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων τριάκοντα. | And part of the heads of families gave into the treasury to Neemias for the work a thousand pieces of gold, fifty bowls, and thirty priests' garments. |

| καὶ ἀπὸ ἀρχηγῶν τῶν πατριῶν ἔδωκαν εἰς θησαυροὺς τοῦ ἔργου χρυσοῦ νομίσματος δύο μυριάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας τριακοσίας, καὶ ἔδωκαν οἱ κατάλοιποι τοῦ λαοῦ χρυσίου δύο μυριάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου μνᾶς δισχιλίας διακοσίας καὶ χωθωνὼθ τῶν ἱερέων ἑξηκονταεπτά. | And some of the heads of families gave into the treasuries of the work, twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand three hundred pounds of silver. |

| καί ἐκάθισαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ Λευῖται καὶ οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες καὶ οἱ ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ οἱ ναθινὶμ καὶ πᾶς ᾿Ισραὴλ ἐν πόλεσιν αὐτῶν. | And the rest of the people gave twenty thousand pieces of gold, and two thousand two hundred pounds of silver, and sixty-seven priests' garments. |
