Искони бэ слово. и слово бэ отъ бога. и богъ бэ слово.	In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

се бэ искони у бога.	The same was in the beginning with God.

вься тэмъ бышz и без нѥго ни чьто же не бысть ѥже бысть.	All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.

въ томь животъ бэ и животъ бэ свэть чловэкомъ.	In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

и свэтъ въ тьмэ свьтить сz и тьма ѥго не обьѩтъ.	And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not.

Бысть чловэкъ посъланъ отъ бога имz ѥму иоанъ.	There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.

тъ приде въ съвэдэтельство да съвэдэтельствуѥть о свэтэ да вьси вэру имѫть имь.	The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.

не бэ тъ свэтъ нъ да съвэдэтельствуѥть о свэтэ.	He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light.

бэ свэть истиньныи иже просвэщаѥть вьсякого чловэка грzдѫща въ миръ.	There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.

въ мирэ бэ и миръ тэмь бысть и миръ ѥго не позна.	He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.

въ своѩ приде и свои ѥго не приѩшz.	He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.

ѥлико же ихъ приѩтъ и дасть имъ область чzдомъ божиѥмъ быти вэруѭщемъ въ имz ѥго.	But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:

иже не отъ кръвии ни отъ похоти плътьскы ни отъ похоти мѫжьскы нъ отъ бога родишz сz.	who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

и слово плъть бысть и въсели сz въ ны и видэхомъ славѫ ѥго славѫ яко ѥдиночzдааго отъ отьца исплънь благодати и истины.	And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.

иоанъ съвэдэтельствова о нѥмь и възъва глаголѩ: сь бэ ѥгоже рэхъ грzдыи по мънэ прэдъ мъноѭ бысть яко прьвэи мене бэ.	John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me: for he was before me.

и отъ исплънения ѥго мы вьси приѩхомъ благодать въз благодать.	And of his fullness we all received, and grace for grace.

яко законъ моµѶсеомь данъ бысть. благодать и истина исусъ христъмь бысть.	For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Бога ни къто же ни къде же не видэ. ѥдиночzдыи сынъ сыи въ лонэ отьчи тъ исповэда.	No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

и се ѥсть съвэдэтельство иоаново ѥгда послашz иудеи отъ иерусалима иереѩ и левиты да въпросzть и: ты къто ѥси;	And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

и не отъврьже сz. и исповэда яко нэсмь азъ христосъ.	And he confessed, and denied not; and he confessed, I am not the Christ.

и въпросишz и: чьто убо; илия ли ѥси ты; и глагола: нэсмь. пророкъ ли ѥси ты; и отъвэща: ни.	And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.

рэшz же ѥму: къто ѥси; да отъвэтъ дамъ посълавшиимъ ны. чьто глаголѥши о тебэ самомь;	They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

рече: азъ гласъ въпиѭщааго въ пустыни. исправите пѫть господьнь якоже рече исаия пророкъ.	He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.

и посълании бэахѫ отъ фарисеи	And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

и въпросишz и и рэшz ѥму: чьто убо крьщаѥши аще ты нэси христосъ ни илия ни пророкъ;	And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?

отъвэща имъ иоанъ глаголѩ: азь крьщаѭ въ водэ. по срэдэ же васъ стоить ѥгоже вы не вэсте.	John answered them, saying, I baptize in water: but in the midst of you standeth one whom ye know not,

тъ ѥсть грzдыи по мънэ иже прьвэи мене бэ. ѥмуже нэсмь достоинъ да отърэшѫ ремень сапогу ѥго.	he it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, the latchet of whose shoe I am not worthy to unloose.

си въ виfаварэ бышz об онъ полъ иордана идеже бэ иоанъ крьстz.	These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Въ оно вреұ. видэ iw7нъ iс7а грzдUща къ собэ. и гlа. се агньць б9ии. въземляи грэхы всего мира.	On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!

сь ѥсть о нѥмь же азъ рекохъ. по мнэ идеть мUжь иже предъ мною быc яко пьрвэѥ мене бэ.	This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is preferred before me: for he was before me.

и азъ не вэдzхъ ѥго. нъ да явитьсz иlеви. сего ради придохъ азъ въ водэ кр7стz.	And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water.

и съвэдэтельствова iw7нъ гlя. яко видэхъ д¦ъ съходzщь яко голUбь. съ неб7се. и пребыc на нѥмь.	And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him.

и азъ не видэхъ ѥго. нъ пославыи мz кр©титъ въ водэ. тъ мнэ рече. надъ нь же Uзриши д¦ъ съходzщь. и пребывающь на нѥмь. и азъ видэхъ. яко сь ѥсть кр©тzи д¦мь с™мь.	And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

и съвэдэтельствовахъ. яко сь ѥсть сн7ъ б9ии.	And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

Въ утрэи же дьнь пакы стояаше иоанъ и отъ ученикъ ѥго дъва.	Again on the morrow John was standing, and two of his disciples;

и узьрэ исуса грzдѫща и глагола: сь агньць божии.	and he looked upon Jesus as he walked, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!

и слышасте и оба ученика глаголѭщь и по исусэ идосте.	And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

обращь же сz исусъ и видэвъ я по себэ идѫща глагола има: чьсо ищета; она же рэсте ѥму: равви. ѥже глаголѥть сz съказаѥмо учителю. къде живеши;	And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? And they said unto him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), where abidest thou?

глагола има: придэта и видита. придосте же и видэсте къде живэаше. и прэбысте у нѥго дьнь тъ. година же бэ яко десzтая.	He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day: it was about the tenth hour.

бэ же андреа братъ симона петра ѥдинъ отъ обою слышавъшую отъ иоана и по нѥмь шьдъшую.	One of the two that heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

обрэте сь прэжде брата своѥго симона и глагола ѥму: обрэтохомъ месиѭ ѥже ѥсть съказаѥмо христосъ.	He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ).

и приведе и къ исусови. възьрэвъ же на нь исусъ рече: ты ѥси симонъ сынъ ионинъ. ты наречеши сz кифа ѥже съказаѥть сz петръ.	And he brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonah: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

въ Uтрэи же въхотэ I© изити въ галилею. и wбрэте филипа и гlа ѥмU. иди по мнэ.	On the morrow he was minded to go forth into Galilee, and he findeth Philip: and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me.

бэ же филипъ t виfьсаиды града. андреова и петрова.	Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.

обрэте филипъ нафанаила. и гlа ѥмU. ѥго же писа мосии въ законэ и прbрци. обрэтохомъ I©а. сн7а иwсифова. иже t назареfа.	Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

гlа ѥмU наfанаилъ. t назареfа можеть ли что добро быти. гlа ѥмU филипъ. приди и вижь.	And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

видэвъ же I© наfанаила. идUща къ собэ. гlа ѥму се въистинU иlитэнинъ. въ нѥмь же льсти нэc.	Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

гlа ѥмU наfанаилъ. како мz знаѥши. tвэща I© и рече ѥмU. преже даже не въгласи тебе филипъ сUща подъ смоковию видэхъ тz.	Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

tвэща нафанаилъ и гlа ѥмU. равви ты ѥси сн7ъ б9ии. ѥси цrь изlѥвъ.	Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

tвэща I© и ре? ѥмU. занѥ рэхъ ти. яко видэхъ тz подъ смоковию. вэрUѥши и больша сихъ Uзьриши.	Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee underneath the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

и гlа ѥмU. амн7ъ амн7ъ гlю вамъ. tселэ Uзрите нб7о tвьrто. и анGлы б9ия въсходzща и съходzща надъ сн7а члв7чьскаагw.	And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
Глава 2	Chapter 2

1	1
И въ третии дьнь бракъ бысть въ кана галилеисцэ и бэ ту мати исусова.	And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

зъванъ же бысть исусъ и ученици ѥго на бракъ.	and Jesus also was bidden, and his disciples, to the marriage.

и не доставъшу вину глагола мати исусова къ нѥму: вина ие имѫть.	And when the wine failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4	4
глагола ѥи исусъ: чьто ѥсть мънэ и тебэ жено; не у приде година моя.	Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5	5
глагола мати ѥго слугамъ: ѥже аще глаголѥть вамъ сътворите.	His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

бэ же ту водоносъ камzнъ шесть лежzщь по очищенню иудеиску въмэстzщь по дъвэма ли по трьмъ мэрамъ.	Now there were six waterpots of stone set there after the Jews’ manner of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.

глагола имъ исусъ: напълннте водоносы воды и наплънишz ѩ до врьха.	Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

и глагола имъ: почрьпэте нынэ и принесэте архитриклинови. они же принесошz.	And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the ruler of the feast. And they bare it.

якоже въкуси архитриклинъ вина бывъшааго отъ воды и не вэдэаше отъкѫду ѥсть а слугы вэдэахѫ почрьпъшеи водѫ. възгласи жениха архитриклинъ.	And when the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and knew not whence it was (but the servants that had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast calleth the bridegroom,

и глагола ѥму: вьсякъ чловэкъ прэжде доброѥ вино полагаѥть и ѥгда упиѭть сz тъгда хуждеѥ. ты же съблюде доброѥ вино доселэ.	and saith unto him, Every man setteth on first the good wine; and when men have drunk freely, then that which is worse: thou hast kept the good wine until now.

се сътвори знамениѥмъ начzтъкъ исусъ въ кана галилеисцэ и яви славѫ своѭ и вэровашz въ нь ученици ѥго.	This the beginning of his signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

По семь съниде исусъ въ каперънаумъ самъ и мати ѥго и братия ѥго и ученици ѥго и ту не мъногы дьнн прэбысть.	After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they abode not many days.

и близъ бэ пасха иудеиска. и възиде исусъ въ иерусалимъ	And the passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

и обрэте въ црькъви продаѭщzѩ волы и овьцz и голѫби и пэнzжьникы сэдzщz.	And he found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

и сътвори бичь отъ врьвии и изгъна вьсz ис црькъве овьцz и волы и тържьникомъ расыпа пэнzзz и дъскы опрьврьже.	and he made a scourge of cords, and cast all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables;

и продаѭщиимъ голѫби рече: възмэте си отъсѭду. не творите дому отьца моѥго дому купльнааго.	and to them that sold the doves he said, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house a house of merchandise.

помzнѫшz же ученици ѥго яко написано ѥсть: жалость дому твоѥго сънэсть мz.	And his disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for thy house shall eat me up.
18	18
отъвэщашz же иудеи и рекошz ѥму: коѥ знамениѥ являѥши намъ яко си твориши;	The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, What sign showest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

отъвэща исусъ и рече имъ: разорите црькъвь сиѭ и трьми дьньми въздвигнѫ ѭ.	Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20	20
рэшz же иудеи: четырьми десzты и шестиѭ лэтъ съзъдана бысть црькы си. а ты ли трьми дьньми въздвигнеши ѭ;	The Jews therefore said, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou raise it up in three days?

онъ же глаголааше о црькъви тэла своѥго.	But he spake of the temple of his body.
22	22
ѥгда же въста отъ мрьтвыихъ помzнѫшz ученици ѥго яко се глаголааше. и вэрѫ ѩшz кънигамъ и словеси ѥже рече исусъ.	When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he spake this; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

ѥгда же бэ въ иерусалимэхъ въ пасхѫ въ праздьникъ мънози вэровашz въ имz ѥго видzще знамения ѥго яже творэаше.	Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, during the feast, many believed on his name, beholding his signs which he did.

самъ же исусъ не въдаяше себе въ вэрѫ ихъ имьже самъ вэдэаше вьсz.	But Jesus did not trust himself unto them, for that he knew all men,

и яко не трэбовааше да къто съвэдэтельствуэть о чловэцэ. самъ во вэдэаше чьто бэаше въ чловэцэ.	and because he needed not that anyone should bear witness concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
Глава 3	Chapter 3

1	1
Бэ же чловэкъ ѥтеръ отъ фарисеи. имz ѥму никодимъ. кънzзь иудеискъ.	Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

сь приде къ исусъви нощиѭ и рече ѥму: равви вэмь яко отъ бога ѥси пришьлъ учитель. ни къто же бо не можеть знамении сихъ творити яже ты твориши аще не бѫдеть богъ съ нимъ.	the same came unto him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that thou doest, except God be with him.

отъвэщавъ исусъ рече ѥму: аминь аминь глаголѭ тебэ аще къто не родить сz съвыше не можеть вэдэти царьствия божия.	Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

глагола къ нѥму никодимъ: како можеть чловэкъ родити сz старъ сы; еда можеть въторицеѭ въ ѫтробѫ вълэзти матере своѥѩ и родити сz;	Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

отъвэща исусъ и рече ѥму: аминь аминь глаголѭ тебэ: аще къто не родить сz водоѭ и духъмь не можеть вънити въ царьство божиѥ.	Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

рожденоѥ бо отъ плъти плъть ѥсть и рожденоѥ отъ духа духъ ѥсть.	That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7	7
не диви сz яко рэхъ ти подобаѥть вамъ родити сz съвыше.	Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born anew.
8	8
духъ идеже хощеть дышеть и гласъ ѥго слышиши нъ не вэси отъкѫду приходить и камо идеть. такъ ѥсть вьсякъ рожденыи отъ духа.	The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the voice thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.

отъвэща никодимъ и рече ѥму: како могѫть си быти;	Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10	10
отъвэща исусъ и рече ѥму: ты ѥси учитель израилевъ и сихъ ли не вэси;	Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou the teacher of Israel, and understandest not these things?
11	11
аминь аминь глаголѭ тебэ яко яже вэмь глаголемъ и ѥже видэхомъ съвэдэтельствуѥмъ и съвэдэтельства нашего не приѥмлѥте.	Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that which we know, and bear witness of that which we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

аще земьная рэхъ вамъ и не вэруете. како аще рекѫ вамъ небесьная вэруѥте;	If I told you earthly things and ye believe not, how shall ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13	13
никто же възиде на небо. тъкмо съшьдыи съ нб7се. сн7ъ члbвчь сыи на нб7се.	And no one hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended out of heaven, even the Son of man, who is in heaven.
14	14
и яко же моиси възнесе. змию въ пUстыни. тако подобаѥть възнестисz сн7U члbвчскUмU.	And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up;
15	15
да всzкъ вэрUя въ нь не погыбьнеть. нъ имать животъ вэчьныи.	that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16	16
тако бо възлюби мира. яко и сн7а своего иночадааго. далъ ѥсть въ миръ. да всzкъ вэрUяи въ нь не погыбнеть. нъ имать животъ вэчьныи.	For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

не посла бо бGъ сн7а своего въ миръ. да сUдить мирU нъ да сп7сть миръ.	For God sent not his Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.
18	18
вэруѩи въ нь не бѫдеть осѫжденъ а не вэруѩи уже осѫжденъ ѥсть яко не вэрова въ имz ѥдиночzдааго сына божия.	He that believeth on him is not judged: but he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19	19
се же ѥсть сѫдъ яко свэтъ приде въ миръ. и възлюбишz чловэци паче тьмѫ неже свэтъ бэшz бо ихъ дэла зъла.	And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.
20	20
вьсякъ бо дэлаѩ зълая ненавидить свэта и не приходить къ свэту да не обличать сz дэла ѥго яко зъла сѫть.	For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his works should be reproved.
21	21
а творzи истнинѫ грzдеть къ свъту да явzть сz дэла ѥго яко о бозэ сѫть съдэлана.	But he that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest, that they have been wrought in God.

По сихъ въниде исусъ и ученици ѥго въ иудеискѫѭ землѭ и ту живэаше съ ними и крьщааше.	After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

бэ же иоанъ крьстz въ енонэ близъ салима яко воды мъногы бэахѫ ту. и прихождаахѫ и крьщаахѫ сz.	And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salem, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.
24	24
не у бо бэ въсажденъ въ тьмьницѫ иоанъ.	For John was not yet cast into prison.
25	25
бысть же сътzзаниѥ отъ ученикъ иоановъ съ иудеи о очищении.	There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John’s disciples with a Jew about purifying.

и придошz къ иоану и рэшz ѥму: равви иже бэ съ тобоѭ об онъ полъ иордана ѥмуже ты съвэдэтельствова се тъ крьщаѥть и вьси грzдѫть къ нѥму.	And they came unto John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou hast borne witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

отъвэща иоанъ и рече: не можеть чловэкъ приимати ни чьсо же аще не бѫдеть ѥму дано съ небесе.	John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it have been given him from heaven.

вы сами мънэ съвэдэтельствовасте яко рэхъ нэсмь азъ христосъ нъ посъланъ ѥсмь прэдъ нимь.	Ye yourselves bear witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am sent before him.

имэѩи невэстѫ женихъ ѥсть а другъ жениховъ стоѩ и послушаѩ ѥго радостиѭ радуѥть сz за гласъ жениховъ. си убо радость моя исплъни сz.	He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, that standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is made full.

оному подобаѥть расти а мънэ мьнити сz.	He must increase, but I must decrease.
31	31
грzдыи съвыше надъ вьсэми ѥсть. иже отъ землѩ отъ землѩ ѥсть. и отъ землѩ глаголѥть. грzдыи съ небесе надъ вьсэми ѥсть.	He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is of the earth, and of the earth he speaketh: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

приимыи ѥго съвэдэтельство запэчатлэ яко богъ истиньнъ ѥсть.	He that hath received his witness hath set his seal to this, that God is true.

ѥгоже бо посъла богъ глаголы божиѩ глаголеть не въ мэрѫ бо богъ дасть духа.	For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure.

отьць любить сына и вься дасть въ рѫцэ ѥго.	The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

вэруѩи въ сына имать животъ вэчьныи. а иже не вэруѥть въ сына не узьрить живота. нъ гнэвъ божии прэбываѥть на нѥмь.	He that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Глава 4	Chapter 4

Егда же увэдэ господь яко услышашz фарисеи яко исусъ мъножаишz ученикы творить и крьщаѥть неже иоанъ.	When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John

а исусъ самъ не крьщааше нъ ученици ѥго.	(although Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples),

остави иудеѭ и иде пакы въ галилеѭ.	he left Judea, and departed into Galilee.

достояаше же ѥму проити сквозэ самариѭ.	And he must needs pass through Samaria.

приде же исусъ въ градъ самарьскъ нарицаѥмыи сµхарь близъ вьси ѭже дасть ияковъ иосифу сыну своѥму.	So he cometh to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph:

бэ же тѫ кладzзь ияковль. I©ъ же трUжьсz t пUти. сэдzаше тако на кладzзи. и година бэ яко шестая.	and Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

приде жена t самария. почретъ воды. и гlа ѥи I©ъ дажь ми воды.	There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

Uченици бо его tшьли бzахU въ градъ да брашьна кUпzть.	For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food.

гlа ѥмU жена самарzныни. како ты июдэи сы. t мене воды просиши. жены самарzнынz сUща. не прикасають бо сz самарzне июдэихъ.	The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

и tвэща I©ъ и рече ѥи. аще бы видэла даръ б9ии. кто ѥсть гlzи ти дажь ми воды. ты бы просила U него. и далъ ти бы водU живU.	Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

гlа ѥмU жена. Gи ни почьрпала имаши. стUденьць есть глUбокъ. tкUдU Uбо имаши водU живU.	The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: whence then hast thou that living water?

ѥда ты болии ѥси оц7z нашего иякова. иже дасть намъ стUденьць сь. и тъ иж него пиѥть. и сн7ове ѥго. и скоти ѥго.	Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?

tвэща и I©ъ и рече ѥи. вьсzкъ пияи t воды сея въждадаѥтьсz пакы.	Jesus answered and said unto her, Everyone that drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

а иже пиѥть воды юже азъ дамь ѥмU. не имать въждадатисz въ вэкы. нъ водU юже азъ дамь ѥмU бUдеть въ немь источьникъ воды. въскаплющяя воды вэчьныя.	but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life.

гlа къ немU жена. Gи дажь ми сия воды да ни жажю ни прихожю сэмо почьрпатъ.	The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

гlа ѥи I©ъ иди призови мUжа своѥго и приди сэмо.	Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

tвэща жена и рече ѥмU не имамъ мUжz. гlа ѥи I©ъ. добрэ рече яко мUжz не имамь.	The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus saith unto her, Thou saidst well, I have no husband:

пzть мUжь имэла ѥси. нынэ ѥго же имаши нэсть ти мUжь. се выистинU рече.	for thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: this hast thou said truly.

гlа ѥмU жена. Gи вижю яко прbркъ ѥси ты.	The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

оц7и наши въ горэ сеи поклонишасz. и вы гlете. яко въ иеrлмэ ѥсть мэсто. иде же кланzтисz подобаѥть.	Our fathers worshiped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

гlа ѥи I©ъ. жено вэрU ими ми. яко грzдеть година. ѥгда бUдеть ни въ горэ сеи. ни въ иѥrлмэхъ поклонитисz оц7ю.	Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father.

вы кланzѥтесz ѥго же не вэсте мы кланzѥмъсz ѥго же вэмъ. яко сп7сениѥ t июдэии ѥсть.	Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.

нъ грzдеть година. и нынэ ѥсть. ѥгда истиньнии поклоньници. поклонzтьсz оц7ю д¦мь истиною. и оц7ь тацэхъ ищеть. кланzющиихъсz ѥмU.	But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshipers.

д¦ъ ѥсть б7ъ. иже кланzѥтьсz ѥмU. д¦мь истиною. достоить кланzтисz.	God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

гlа емU жена вэмь. яко месиа придеть гlемыи х©ъ. ѥгда тъ придеть възвэстить намъ вьсz.	The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah cometh (he that is called Christ): when he is come, he will declare unto us all things.

гlа ѥи I©ъ. азъ ѥсмь гlzи съ тобою.	Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

тъгда же придU Uченици ѥго. и чюжаахUсz. яко съ женою гlеть. и никто же не рече чьсо ищеши. или чьто гlеши съ женою.	And upon this came his disciples; and they marveled that he was speaking with a woman; yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why speakest thou with her?

остави же водонось свою жена. и иде въ градъ. и гlа члв7комъ.	So the woman left her waterpot, and went away into the city, and saith to the people,

придэте и видите чlвка. иже рече ми вьсz ѥлико сътворихъ. ѥда тъ ѥсть х©ъ.	Come, see a man, who told me all things that ever I did: can this be the Christ?

и изидU из града. и грzдzахU къ немѫ.	They went out of the city, and were coming to him.

межю же сими. молzхUти и Uченици гlюще. равъви ѥждь.	And in the meanwhile the disciples prayed him, saying, Rabbi, eat.

онъ же рече къ нимъ. азъ брашьно имамъ ѥсти. ѥго же вы не вэсте.	But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not.

гlахU же Uченици ѥго къ себэ. ѥда къто принесе ѥмU ѥсти.	The disciples therefore said one to another, Hath any man brought him aught to eat?

гlа имъ I©ъ. моѥ брашьно ѥсть. да творzи волю посълавъшааго мz. и съвьршая дэла ѥго.	Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to accomplish his work.

не вы ли гlете. яко и еще четыре мcци сUть. и жzтва придеть. се гlю вамъ. възведэте очи ваши. и видите нивы. яко плавы сUть къ жzтвэ Uже.	Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh the harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white already unto harvest.

и жьнzи мьздU приѥмлеть. и събираѥть плодъ въ животъ вэчьныи. да сеяи въкUпэ радUѥтьсz. и жьнzи.	And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal; that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

о семь слово ѥсть истиньноѥ. яко инъ ѥсть сэяи. инъ ѥсть жьнzи.	For herein is verified the true saying, One soweth, and another reapeth.

азъ же вы посълахъ жzть. иде же вы не трUдистесz. ини трUдишzсz. и вы въ трUдъ ихъ вънидосте.	I sent you to reap that whereon ye have not labored: others have labored, and ye are entered into their labor.

t града же того мънози вэроваша въ него. t самарzнъ. за слово женэ съвэдэтельствUющи. яко ми рече вьсz ѥлико сътворихъ.	And from that city many of the Samaritans believed on him because of the word of the woman, who testified, He told me all things that ever I did.

ѥгда же придU самарzне. молzхUти и да бы прэбылъ U нихъ. и прэбысть тU дъва дн7и.	So when the Samaritans came unto him, they besought him to abide with them: and he abode there two days.

и мънози паче вэроваша. за слово ѥго.	And many more believed because of his word;

женэ же гlаахU. Uже не за твою бесэдU вэрUемъ. сами бо слышахомъ. и вэрѫемъ. zко сь ѥсть въистинU сп7съ мира х©ъ.	and they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy speaking: for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Savior of the world, the Christ.

По дъвою же дьню изиде отътѫду и иде въ галилеѭ.	And after the two days he went forth from thence, and went away into Galilee.

самъ бо исусъ съвэдэтельствова яко пророкъ въ своѥмь отьчьствии не имать чьсти.	For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.

ѥгда же приде въ галилеѭ приѩшz и галилеане вься видэвъше ѥлико сътвори въ иерусалимэхъ въ праздьникъ. и ти бо придошz въ праздьникъ.	So when he came into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did in Jerusalem at the feast: for they also went unto the feast.

приде же исусъ пакы въ кана галилеискѫ идеже сътвори отъ воды вино. Бэ же нэкыи цесарь мѫжь ѥгоже сынъ болэаше въ капернаумэ.	Jesus came therefore again unto Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.

сь слышавъ яко исусъ приде отъ июдеѩ въ галилеѭ и иде къ нѥму и моляаше и да сънидеть исцэлитъ сынь ѥго хотэаше бо умрэти.	When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.

рече же къ нѥму исусъ: аще знамении и чудесъ не видите не имате вэры ѩти.	Jesus therefore said unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will in no wise believe.

глагола къ нѥму цесарь мѫжь: господи съниди прэжде даже не умреть отрочz моѥ.	The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.

и глагола ѥму исусъ: иди сынъ твои живъ ѥсть. и вэрѫ имъ чловэкъ словеси ѥже рече ѥму исусъ и идэаше.	Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus spake unto him, and he went his way.

и абиѥ съходzщу ѥму се раби ѥго сърэтошz и възвэстишz глаголѭще ѥму яко сынъ твои живъ ѥсть.	And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.

въпрашааше же годины отъ нихъ: въ кыи часъ сулэѥ ѥму бысть; рэшz же ѥму яко вьчера въ годинѫ седмѫѭ остави и огнь.	So he inquired of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.

разумэвъ же отьць ѥго яко та година бэ въ нѭже рече ѥму исусъ: сынъ твои живъ ѥсть. и вэрова самъ и домъ ѥго вьсь.	So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

се пакы вътороѥ знамениѥ сътвори исусъ пришьдъ оть иудеѩ въ галилеѭ.	This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
Глава 5	Chapter 5

По сихъ же бэ праздьникъ иудеискъ. и възиде исусъ въ иерусалимъ.	After these things there was the feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

ѥсть же въ иерусалимэхъ на овьчи кѫпэли яже нарицаѥть сz евреискы виfезда пzть притворъ имѫщи.	Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches.

въ тэхъ лежааше мъножьство болzщиихъ слэпъ хромъ сухъ чаѭщиихь движениѥ водэ.	In these lay a great multitude of them that were sick, blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water:

аньгелъ бо господьнь на вься лэта мыяше сz въ купэли и възмѫщааше водѫ. и иже прэжде вълажааше по възмѫщении воды съдравъ бывааше яцэмь же недѫгъмь одрьжимъ бывааше.	for an angel went down at certain seasons into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole, with whatsoever disease he was holden.

бэ же ѥдинъ ту чловэкъ три десzте и осмь лэтъ имы въ недѫзэ своѥмь.	And a certain man was there, who had been thirty and eight years in his infirmity.

сего видэвъ исусъ лежzща и разумэвъ яко мънога лэта уже имэаше глагола ѥму: хощеши ли цэлъ быти;	When Jesus saw him lying, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wouldest thou be made whole?

отъвэща ѥму недѫжьныи: еи господи чловэка не имаамъ да ѥгда възмѫтить сz вода въврьжеть мz въ кѫпэль. ѥгда же прихождѫ азъ инъ прэжде мене сълазить.	The sick man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.

глагола ѥму исусъ: въстани възьми одръ твои и иди въ домъ твои.	Jesus saith unto him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9	9
и абиѥ цэлъ бысть чловэкъ и възzтъ одръ свои и хождааше. бэ же сѫбота въ тъ дьнь.	And straightaway the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked. Now it was the sabbath on that day.

глаголахѫ же иудеи исцэлэвъшуу му: сѫбота ѥсть и не достоить тебэ възzти одра твоѥго.	So the Jews said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath: it is not lawful for thee to take up thy bed.

онъ же отъвэща имъ: иже мz сътвори цэла тъ мънэ рече: възьми одръ твои и ходи.	He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

въпросишz же и: къто ѥсть чловэкъ рекыи тебэ възьми одръ твои и ходи;	They asked him therefore, Who is the man that said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

исцэлэвыи не вэдяаше къто ѥсть. исусъ бо уклони сz народу сѫщу на мэстэ.	But he that was healed knew not who it was; for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in the place.

по томь же исусъ обрэте и въ црькъви и рече ѥму: се цэлъ бысть кътому не сьгрэшаи да не горе ти чьто бѫдеть.	Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing befall thee.

и иде чловэкъ и повэда иудеомъ яко исусъ ѥсть иже мz сътвори цэла.	The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him whole.
16	16
и сего ради гонэахѫ иудеи исуса и искаахѫ ѥго убити. занѥ си творяаше въ сѫботѫ.	And for this cause the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the sabbath.

исусъ же отъвэщавааше имъ: отьць мои доселэ дэлаѥть и азъ дэлаѭ.	But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.
18	18
сего же ради паче искаахѫ ѥго иудеи убити яко не тъкъмо разоряаше сѫботѫ нъ и отьца своѥго глаголааше бога равьнъ сz творz богу.	For this cause therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only brake the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

отъвэща же исусъ и рече нмъ: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ не можеть сынъ творити о себэ ни чесо же аще не ѥже видить отьца творzща. яже бо онъ творить си и сынъ такожде творить.	Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.

отьць бо любитъ сына и вься показаѥть ѥму яже самъ творить. и больша сихъ покажеть ѥму дэла да вы чудите сz.	For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and greater works than these will he show him, that ye may marvel.
21	21
яко бо отьць въскрэшаѥть мрьтвыѩ и живить тако же и сынъ ѩже хощеть живить.	For as the Father raiseth the dead and giveth them life, even so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.
22	22
отьць бо не сѫдить ни кому же нъ сѫдъ вьсь дасть сынови.	For neither doth the Father judge any man, but he hath given all judgment unto the Son;

да вьси чьтѫть сына якоже чьтѫть отьца. иже не чьтеть сына не чьтеть отьца иже посъла ѥго.	that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son honoreth not the Father that sent him.

аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ яко слушаѩи словесе моѥго и вэрѫ ѥмлz посълавъшуу му мz имать живота вэчьнааго и на сѫдъ не придеть нъ прэидеть отъ съмрьти въ животъ.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.

аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ яко грzдеть година и нынэ ѥсть ѥгда мрьтвии услышzть гласъ сына божия и слышавъше оживѫть.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear shall live.

якоже бо отьць живота имать въ себэ тако дасть и сынови животъ имэти въ себэ.	For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:

и область дасть ѥму и сѫдъ творити яко сынъ чловэчьскъ ѥсть.	and he gave him authority to execute judgment also, because he is a son of man.

не дивите сz сему. яко грzдеть година въ нѭже вьси сѫщеи въ гробэхъ услышzть гласъ сына божия.	Marvel not at this: for the hour cometh, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,

и изидѫть сътворьшеи благая въ въскрэшениѥ живота а сътворьшеи зълая въ въскрэшениѥ сѫда.	and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment.

не могѫ азъ о себэ творити ни чьсо же. якоже слышѫ сѫждѫ и сѫдь мои правьдьнъ ѥсть. яко не ищѫ волѩ моѥѩ нъ волѩ посълавъшааго мz отьца.	I can of myself do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is righteous; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father that sent me.

аще азъ съвэдэтельствуѭ о мънэ съвэдэтельство моѥ нэсть истиньно.	If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
32	32
инъ ѥсть съвэдэтельствуѩи о мънэ. и вэмь яко истиньно ѥсть съвэдэтельство ѥже съвэдэтельствуѥть о мънэ.	It is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

вы посъласте къ иоану и съвэдэтельствова о истинэ.	Ye have sent unto John, and he hath borne witness unto the truth.

азъ же не отъ чловэкъ съвэдэтельство приѥмлѭ. нъ си глаголѭ да вы съпасени бѫдете.	But the witness which I receive is not from man: howbeit I say these things, that ye may be saved.
35	35
онъ бэ свэтильникъ горz и свэтz. вы же хотэсте въздрадовати сz въ годинѫ свьтэния ѥго.	He was the lamp that burneth and shineth; and ye were willing to rejoice for a season in his light.
36	36
азъ же имамь съвэдэтельство болѥ иоанова. дэла бо яже дасть мънэ отьць да съврьшѫ я. та дэла яже творѭ съвэдэтельствуѭть о мьнэ яко отьць мz посъла.	But the witness which I have is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to accomplish, the very works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.

и посълавыи мz отьць тъ съвэдэтельствова о мънэ. ни гласа ѥго ни къде же слышасте. ни видэния ѥго видэсте.	And the Father that sent me, he himself hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.

и словесе ѥго не имате прэбываѭща въ васъ. занѥ ѥгоже тъ посъла сему вы вэры не ѥмлѥте.	And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he sent, him ye believe not.

испытаите книгы яко вы мьните въ нихъ имэти живота вэчьнааго и ты сѫть съвэдэтельствуѭщz о мънэ.	Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;

и не хощете прити къ мънэ да живота имаате.	and ye will not come to me, that ye may have life.

славы отъ чловэкъ не приѥмлѭ.	I receive not glory from men.
42	42
нъ разумэхъ вы яко любъве въ себэ божиѩ не имаате.	But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in yourselves.

азъ придохъ въ имz отьца моѥго и не приѥмлѥте мене. аще инъ придеть въ имz своѥ того приѥмлѥте.	I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

како вы можете вэровати славѫ другъ отъ друга приѥмлѭще и славы яже отъ ѥднного бога не ищете;	How can ye believe, who receive glory one of another, and the glory that cometh from the only God ye seek not?

не мьните яко азъ на вы рекѫ къ отьцу. ѥсть иже на вы глаголѥть муѶси на нѥгоже вы уповасте.	Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.

аще бо бысте вэрѫ имэли муѶсеови вэрѫ яли бысте и мънэ. о мънэ бо тъ писа.	For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.

аще ли того кънигамъ вэры не ѥмлѥте како моимъ глаголомъ вэрѫ имете;	But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
Глава 6	Chapter 6

1	1
И по семь иде исусъ на онъ полъ моря галилеѩ тиверьядьска	After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.

възиде же на горѫ исусъ и ту сэдэаше съ ученикы своими.	And Jesus went up into the mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

бэ же близъ пасха праздьникъ иудеискъ.	Now the passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

възведе I©ъ очи свои. и видэвъ яко мъногъ народъ грzдеть къ немU. гlа къ филипU. чимь кUпимъ хлэбы да ѥдzть си.	Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude cometh unto him, saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?

се гlааше искUшzя э. самъ бо вэдzаше чюдо хотz сътворити.	And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.

tвэща ѥмU филипъ. дъвэма сътома пэнzзь. хлэбъ не довълэѥть имъ. да къжьдо ихъ мало что прииметь.	Philip answered him, Two hundred denarii’ worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take some little portion.

гlа ѥмU ѥдинъ t Uченикъ ѥго. андрэа братъ симона петра.	One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, saith unto him,

ѥсть отрочищь сьде ѥдинъ иже имать. е7. хлэбъ ячьнъ и дъвэ рыбэ. нъ си что сUть въ селико.	There is one lad here, who hath five barley loaves, and two fish: but what are these among so many?

рече же I©ъ. сътворите чlвкомъ възлечи. бэ же трава мънога на мэстэ. възлеже Uбо мUжь яко пzть тысzщь.	And Jesus said, Make the people sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

приятъ же хлэбы I©ъ. и хвалU въздавъ подасть Uченикомъ. а Uченици възлежащиимъ. тако же и t рыбU. ѥлико хотzхU.	And Jesus took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; likewise also of the fish as much as they would.

и яко насытишzсz. гlа Uченикомъ своимъ. съберэте избытъкы. UкрUхъ. да не погыбнеть ничьто же.	And when they were filled, he saith unto his disciples, Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost.

събьраша же испълниша дъва на десzте кошz UкрUхъ t пzти хлэбъ ячьныихъ. иже испълнишz ѥдъшемъ.	So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which remained over unto them that had eaten.

члbвци же знамение видэвъше. ѥже сътвори I©ъ. гlаахѫ яко сь ѥсть въистинU прbркъ грzдыи въ миръ.	When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, This is of a truth the prophet that cometh into the world.

исусъ же разумэвь яко хотzть прити да въсхытzть и и сътворzть царя отиде пакы въ горѫ тъ ѥдинъ.	Jesus therefore perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew into the mountain himself alone.

и яко поздэ бысть сънидошz ученици ѥго на море.	And when evening came, his disciples went down unto the sea;

и вълэзыще въ корабль эдэахѫ на онъ полъ моря вь каперънаумъ. и тьма абиѥ бысть и не у бэ къ нимъ пришьлъ исусъ.	and they entered into the boat, and were going over the sea unto Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.

море же велику вэтру дыхаѭщу въстаяше.	And the sea was rising by reason of a great wind that blew.
19	19
гребъше же яко дъва десzтэ и пzть стадии ли три десzти узьрэшz исуса ходzща по морю и близъ корабля бывъша и убоящz сz.	When therefore they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they behold Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the boat: and they were afraid.

онъ же глагола имъ: азъ ѥсмь не боите сz.	But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
21	21
хотэахѫ же прияти и въ корабль. и абиѥ бысть корабль на земли въ нѭже эдэахѫ.	They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat: and straightaway the boat was at the land whither they were going.
22	22
въ утрэи же дьнь народъ иже стояаше об онъ полъ моря видэвъше яко корабля иного не бэ ту тъкъмо ѥдинъ тъ въ ньже вънидошz ученици ѥго и яко не въниде съ ученикы своими исусъ въ корабль. нъ ѥдини ученици ѥго вънидошz.	On the morrow, when the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other little boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples had entered, and that Jesus entered not with his disciples into the little boat, but that his disciples went away alone

и ини придошz корабли отъ тиверияды близъ мэста идеже ядошz хлэбы хвалѫ въздавъшу господу.	(howbeit there came other little boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks):

и ѥгда видэшz народи яко исуса не бысть ту ни ученикъ ѥго вълэзошz сами въ кораблѩ и придошz въ каперънаумъ ищѫще исуса.	when the multitude therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they themselves gat into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

и обрэтъше и об онъ полъ моря рэшz ѥму: равви къгда сэмо приде;	And when they found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
26	26
отъвэща имъ исусъ и рече: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ ищете мене не яко видэсте знамения нъ яко яли ѥсте хлэбы и насытисте сz.	Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw signs, but because ye ate of the loaves, and were filled.

дэлаите не брашьно гыбнѫщеѥ нъ брашьно прэбываѭщеѥ въ животэ вэчьнэѥмь ѥже сынъ чловэчьскыи дасть вамъ. сего бо отьць знамена богъ.	Work not for the food which perisheth, but for the food which abideth unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him the Father, even God, hath sealed.

рэшz же къ нѥму: чьто сътворимъ да дэлаѥмъ дэла божия;	They said therefore unto him, What must we do, that we may work the works of God?

отъвэща исусъ и рече имъ: се ѥсть дэло божиѥ да вэруѥте въ тъ ѥгоже посъла онъ.	Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

рэшz же ѥму: коѥ убо ты твориши знамениѥ да видимъ и вэрѫ имемъ тебэ; чьто дэлаѥши;	They said therefore unto him, What then doest thou for a sign, that we may see, and believe thee? what workest thou?

отьци наши ядошz манънѫ въ пустыни. якоже ѥсть писано: хлэбъ съ небесе дасть имъ ясти.	Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.

рече же имъ исусъ: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ не муѶси дасть вамъ хлэбъ съ небесе нъ отьць мои даѥть вамъ хлэбъ истиньныи съ небесе.	Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, It is not Moses that hath given you the bread out of heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread out of heaven.

хлэбъ бо божии ѥсть съходzи съ небесе и даѩи животъ вьсему миру.	For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34	34
рэшz же къ нѥму: господи вьсегда даждь намъ хлэбъ сь.	They said therefore unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35	35
рече же имъ исусъ: азъ ѥсмь хлэбъ животьныи. грzдыи кь мънэ не имать възалкати сz и вэруѩи въ мz не имать въждzдати сz ни къгда же.	And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

нъ рэхъ вамъ яко и видэсте мz и не вэруѥте.	But I said unto you, that ye have seen me, and yet believe not.

вьсе ѥже дасть мънэ отьць къ мънэ придеть. и грzдѫщааго къ мънэ не ижденѫ вънъ.	All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38	38
яко сънидохъ съ небесе да не творѭ волѩ моѥѩ нъ волѭ посълавъшааго мz.	For I am come down out of heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39	39
се же ѥсть волz посълавъшааго мz отьца. да вьсе ѥже дасть мънэ отьць не погублѭ отъ нѥго нъ въскрэшѫ и въ послэдьнии дьнь.	And this is the will of the Father that sent me, that of all that which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

се же ѥсть воля посълавъшааго мz да вьсякъ видzи сына и вэруѩи въ нь имать животъ вэчьныи и въскрэшѫ и азъ въ послэдьнии дьнь.	And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone that beholdeth the Son, and believeth on him, should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

ръпътаахѫ же иудеи о нѥмь яко рече азъ ѥсмь хлэбъ съшьдыи съ небесе.	The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, I am the bread which came down out of heaven.

и глаголаахѫ: не сь ли ѥсть исусъ сынъ иосифовъ ѥмуже мы знаѥмь отьца и матерь; како убо сь глаголѥть яко съ небесе сънидохъ;	And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how then doth he say, I am come down out of heaven?

отъвэща же исусъ и рече имъ: не ръпъщэте междѫ собоѭ.	Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
44	44
ни къто же не можеть прити къ мънэ аще не отьць посълавыи мz привлэчеть ѥго. и азъ въскрэшѫ и въ послэдьнии дьнь.	No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him: and I will raise him up in the last day.
45	45
ѥсть писано въ пророцэхъ: и бѫдѫть вьси учени богъмь. вьсякъ слышавыи отьца и навыкъ придеть къ мънэ.	It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught of God. Everyone therefore that heareth from the Father, and hath learned, cometh unto me.

не яко отьца видэлъ ѥсть къто. тъкъмо сыи отъ бога сь видэ отьца.	Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he that is from God, he hath seen the Father.
47	47
аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ: вэруѩи въ мz имать живота вэчьнааго.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath eternal life.
48	48
азъ ѥсмь хлэбъ животьныи.	I am the bread of life.
49	49
отьци ваши ядошz манънѫ въ пустыни и умрэшz.	Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died.
50	50
сь ѥсть хлэбъ съходzи съ небесе да аще къто отъ него ясть не умьреть.	This is the bread which cometh down out of heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51	51
азъ ѥсмь хлэбъ живыи съшьдыи сь небесе. аще къто сънэсть отъ хлэба сего живъ бѫдеть въ вэкъ. хлэбъ бо иже азъ дамь плъть моя ѥсть ѭже азъ дамь за животъ вьсего мира.	I am the living bread which came down out of heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: yea and the bread which I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

прьяахѫ же сz иудеи междѫ собоѭ глаголѭще: како можеть сь плъть своѭ дати намъ ясти;	The Jews therefore strove one with another, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

рече же имъ исусъ: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ: аще не ясте плъти сына чловэчьскааго и пиѥте кръве ѥго живота не имате въ себэ.	Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have not life in yourselves.

ядыи плъть моѭ и пиѩи крьвь моѭ имать животъ вэчьныи и азъ въскрэшѫ и въ послэдьнии дьнь.	He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

плъть бо моя истиньно ѥсть брашьно и кръвь моя истиньно ѥсть пиво.	For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

ядыи моѭ плъть и пиѩи моѭ кръвь въ мънэ прэбываѥть и азъ въ нѥмь.	He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood abideth in me, and I in him.

якоже посъла мz живыи отьць и азъ живѫ отьца ради и ядыи мz и тъ живъ бѫдеть мене ради.	As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father; so he that eateth me, he also shall live because of me.

се ѥсть хлэбъ съшьдыи съ небесе не якоже ядошz отьци ваши манънѫ и умрэшz. ядыи хлэбъ сь живъ бѫдеть въ вэкъ.	This is the bread which came down out of heaven: not as your fathers ate the manna, and died; he that eateth this bread shall live forever.

си рече на съборнщи учz въ каперънаумэ.	These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

мънози же слышавъшеи отъ ученикъ ѥго рекошz: жестоко ѥсть слово се. къто можеть ѥго слушати;	Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it?

вэды же исусъ въ себэ яко ръпъщѫть о семь ученици ѥго рече имъ: се ли вы блазнить;	But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said unto them, Doth this cause you to stumble?

аще убо узьрите сына чловэчьскааго въсходzща идеже бэ прэжде.	What then if ye should behold the Son of man ascending where he was before?

духъ ѥсть иже живить отъ плъти нэсть пользz ни коѥѩ же. глаголы ѩже азъ глаголахъ вамъ духъ сѫть и животъ сѫть.	It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you are spirit, and are life.

нъ сѫть отъ васъ друзии иже не вэруѭть. вэдяаше бо испрьва исусъ къто сѫть невэруѭщеи и къто ѥсть хотzи прэдати и.	But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who it was that should betray him.

и глаголааше: сего ради рэхъ вамъ яко ни къто же не можеть прити къ мънэ аще не бѫдеть дано ѥму отъ отьца моѥго.	And he said, For this cause have I said unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it be given unto him of my Father.

отъ сего мънози отъ ученикъ ѥго идошz въспzть и кътому не хождаахѫ съ нимь.	Upon this many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

рече же исусъ обэма на десzте: еда и вы хощете ити;	Jesus said therefore unto the twelve, Would ye also go away?
68	68
отъвэща же ѥму симонъ петръ: господи къ кому идемъ; глаголы живота вэчьнааго имааши.	Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

и мы вэровахомъ и познахомъ яко ты ѥси христосъ сынь бога живааго.	And we have believed and know that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

отъвэща имъ исусъ: не азъ ли васъ дъва на десzте избьрахъ; и отъ васъ ѥдинъ диаволъ ѥсть.	He answered them, Did not I choose you the twelve, and one of you is a devil?

глаголааше же иудѫ симонова искариота. сь бо хотэаше прэдати и ѥдинъ сы отъ обою на десzте.	Now he spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon, for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
Глава 7	Chapter 7

И хождааше по сихъ исусъ вь галилеи. не хотэаше бо въ иудеи ходити. яко искаахѫ ѥго иудеи убити.	And after these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
2	2
бэ же близъ праздьникъ иудеискъ скинопигия.	Now the feast of the Jews, the feast of tabernacles, was at hand.
3	3
рекошz же къ нѥму братия ѥго: прэиди отъсѫду и иди въ иудеѭ да и ученици твои видzть дэла твоя яже твориши.	His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judea, that thy disciples also may behold thy works which thou doest.
4	4
ни къто же бо ни чьсо же въ таинэ творить и ищеть самъ явэ быти. аще си твориши яви сz вьсему миру.	For no man doeth anything in secret, and himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, manifest thyself to the world.

ни братия бо ѥго вэровахѫ въ нѥго.	For even his brethren did not believe on him.
6	6
глагола же исусъ: врэмz моѥ не у приде. а врэмz ваше вьсегда ѥсть готово.	Jesus therefore saith unto them, My time is not yet come; but your time is always ready.
7	7
не можеть миръ ненавидэти васъ мене же ненавидить. яко азъ съвэдэтельствуѭ о нѥмь яко дэла ѥго зъла сѫть.	The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that its works are evil.
8	8
вы възидэте въ праздьникъ сь. азъ не възидѫ въ праздьникъ сь яко врэмz моѥ не у приближи сz.	Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; because my time is not yet fulfilled.
9	9
си рекъ оста самъ въ галилеи.	And having said these things unto them, he abode still in Galilee.
10	10
ѥгда же възидошz братия ѥго въ праздьникъ тъгда и самъ възиде не явэ нъ яко отаи.	But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not publicly, but as it were in secret.
11	11
иудеи же искаахѫ ѥго въ праздьникъ. и глаголаахѫ: къде ѥсть онъ;	The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
12	12
и ръпътъ мъногь бэ о нѥмь въ народэхъ. ови глаголаахѫ яко благъ ѥсть. ини же глаголаахѫ: ни. нъ льстить народы.	And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him: some said, He is a good man: others said, Not so, but he leadeth the multitude astray.

ни кыи же убо явэ глаголааше о нѥмь страха ради иудеискааго.	Yet no man spake openly of him for fear of the Jews.

Абиѥ же въ преполовлѥниѥ праздьннка възиде исусъ въ црькъвь и учааше.	But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.

и дивляахѫ сz иудеи глаголѭще: како сь умэѥть кънигы не учивъ сz;	And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16	16
отъвэща же исусъ и рече имъ: моѥ учениѥ нэсть моѥ нъ посълавъшааго мz.	Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me.
17	17
аще къто хощеть волѭ ѥго творити разумэѥть учениѥ коѥ отъ бога ѥсть или азъ о себэ глаголѭ.	If any man willeth to do his will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from myself.
18	18
глаголѩи о себэ славы своѥѩ ищеть. а ищzи славы посълавъшааго и сь истиньнъ ѥсть и неправьды въ нѥмь нэсть.	He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

не муѶси ли дасть вамъ законъ; и ни къто же отъ васъ творить закона. чьто мене ищете убити;	Hath not Moses given you the law, and yet none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me?
20	20
отъвэща народъ и рече: бэсъ ли имаши къто тебе ищеть убити;	The multitude answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who seeketh to kill thee?
21	21
отъвэща исусъ и рече имъ: ѥдино дэло сътворихъ и вьси дивите сz.	Jesus answered and said unto them, I did one work, and ye all marvel.
22	22
сего ради муѶси дасть вамъ обрэзаниѥ не яко отъ муѶсеа ѥсть нъ отъ отьць. и въ сѫботѫ обрэзаѥте чловэка.	For this cause Moses hath given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers); and on the sabbath ye circumcise a man.

аще обрэзаниѥ приѥмлѥть чловэкъ въ сѫботѫ да не разорить сz законъ муѶсеовъ на мz ли гнэваѥте сz яко вьсего чловэка съдрава сътворихъ въ сѫботѫ;	If a man receiveth circumcision on the sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken; are ye wroth with me, because I made a man every whit whole on the sabbath?

не сѫдите на лицz нъ правьдьныи сѫдъ сѫдите.	Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
25	25
глаголаахѫ же ѥтери отъ иерусалимлянъ: не сь ли ѥсть ѥгоже ищѫть убити;	Some therefore of them of Jerusalem said, Is not this he whom they seek to kill?
26	26
и се не объинуѩ сz глаголѥть и ни чьсо же ѥму не глаголѭть. еда како разумэшz кънzзи яко сь ѥсть христосъ;	And lo, he speaketh openly, and they say nothing unto him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is indeed the Christ?

нъ сего вэмъ отъкѫду ѥсть. а христосъ ѥгда придеть ни къто же ѥго не вэсть отъкѫду бѫдеть.	Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when the Christ cometh, no one knoweth whence he is.

възъва же въ црькви учz исусъ и глаголѩ: и мене вэсте и вэсте отъкѫду ѥсмь. и о себэ не придохъ. нъ ѥсть истиньнъ посълавыи мz ѥгоже вы не вэсте.	Jesus therefore cried in the temple, teaching and saying, Ye both know me, and know whence I am; and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.

азъ и вэмь. яко отъ нѥго ѥсмь и тъ мz посъла.	I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me.

и искаахѫ иудеи яти и и ни къто же не възложи рѫкы на нь яко не у бэ пришьла година ѥго.	They sought therefore to take him: and no man laid his hand on him, because his hour was not yet come.

отъ народа же мънози вэровашz въ нь и глаголаахѫ яко христосъ ѥгда придеть еда больша знамения сътворить яже сь ѥсть сътворилъ;	But many of the multitude believed on him; and they said, When the Christ shall come, will he do more signs than these which this man hath done?

слышашz же фарисеи народъ ръпъщѫщь о нѥмь се и посълашz архиереи и фарисеи слугы да имѫть и.	The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

рече же исусъ: ѥще мало врэмz съ вами ѥсмь и идѫ къ посълавъшууму мz.	Jesus therefore said, Yet a little while am I with you, and I go unto him that sent me.

поищете мене и не обрzщете и идеже ѥсмь азъ вы не можете прити.	Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come.
35	35
рэшz же иудеи къ себэ: камо сь хощеть ити яко мы не обрzщемъ ѥго; еда въ расэаниѥ ѥлиньско хощеть ити и учити елины;	The Jews therefore said among themselves, Whither will this man go that we shall not find him? will he go unto the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

чьто ѥсть слово се ѥже рече: възищете мене и не обрzщете и идеже ѥсмь азъ вы не можете прити;	What is this word that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, ye cannot come?

Въ послэдьнии дн7ь. великыи праздьникъ. стояаше iс7ъ и зъваше гlz. аще кто жаждеть. да придеть къ мънэ и пиѥть.	Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink.

вэрUяи въ мz. яко же кънигы рэшz. рэкы t чрева ѥго истекUть воды живы.	He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, from within him shall flow rivers of living water.

се же рече о дUсэ. иже хотzхU приимати вэрUющии въ него. не Uбо бэ д¦ъ с™ыи данъ. яко iс7ъ не U бэ прославленъ.	But this spake he of the Spirit, whom they that believe on him were to receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.

мънози же t народа. слышавъше слово се гlахU се ѥсть въ истинU прbркъ. и ини гlахU си есть х©ъ.	Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard this word, said, This is of a truth the prophet.

ови гlахU ѥда t галилэя х©ъ приде.	Others said, This is the Christ. Others said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?

не кънигы ли рэшz яко t сэмене дв7два и t виfлэомьска градьца. идеже бэ дв7дъ. приде х©ъ.	Hath not the scripture said that the Christ cometh of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was?

распьрz же бы въ народэ ѥго ради.	So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.

ѥдини же t нихъ хотzхU тии яти. и никто же не възложи на нь рUкы.	And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.

придU же слUгы къ архиерэомъ и fарисэомъ. рэша имъ ти. почто не приведостэ ѥго.	The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why did ye not bring him?

tвэщаша слUгы. николи же такъ гlъ ѥсть члв7чскъ. яко сь чlвкъ.	The officers answered, Never did man so speak, as this man speaketh.

tвэщаша имъ fарисэи. ѥда вы прэльщени бысте.	The Pharisees therefore answered them, Are ye also led astray?

ѥда къто t кнzзь вэрова въ нь. или t fарисэи.	Hath any of the rulers believed on him, or of the Pharisees?

нъ народъ сь. иже не вэсть закона проклzти сUть.	But this multitude that knoweth not the law are accursed.

гlа никодимъ къ нимъ. пришьдыи къ немU нощию. ѥдинъ сы t нихъ.	Nicodemus saith unto them (he that came to him by night, being one of them),

ѥда законъ вашь сUдить члв7кU. аще не слышимъ t него прэжде. и разUмэѥть чьто творить.	Doth our law judge a man, except it first hear from him and know what he doeth?

tвэщаша и рэша ѥмU. ѥда ты t галилэя ѥси. испытаи и виждь. яко t галилэя пророкъ не приходить.	They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee no prophet hath arisen.

Исусъ же иде въ горѫ елеоньскѫ.	but Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.

утро же пакы приде въ црькъвь и вьси людие идэахѫ къ нѥму и сэдъ учааше ѩ.	And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came; and he sat down, and taught them.

приведошz же кънижьници и фарисеи къ нѥму женѫ въ прэлюбодэянии ятѫ. и поставльше ѭ по срэдэ	And the scribes and the Pharisees bring unto him a woman taken in adultery; and having set her in the midst,

глаголашz ѥму: учителю си жена ѩта ѥсть нынэ въ прэлюбодэянии.	they say unto him, trying him, Teacher, this woman hath been taken in adultery, in the very act.

а въ законэ намъ муѶси повелэ таковыѩ камениѥмь побивати. ты же чьто глаголеши;	Now in the law Moses commanded us that such should be stoned: what then sayest thou?

се же рэшz искушаѭще и да бышz имэли на нь чьто глаголати. исусъ же низъ поклонь сz прьстъмь писааше на земли.	And this they said, trying him, that they might have whereof to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, taking no notice.

якоже прилежаахѫ въпрашаѭще и въсклони сz и рече имъ: иже васъ без грэха ѥсть прэжде врьзи камень на нѭ.	But when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

и пакы поклонь сz писааше на земли.	And again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.

они же слышавъше и совэстию обличаѥми исхождаахѫ ѥдинъ по ѥдиному начьнъше отъ старьць до послэдьниихъ. и оста исусъ ѥдинъ и жена стоѩщи по срэдэ.	And they, when they heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the eldest: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the midst.

въсклонь же сz исусъ и ни кого же не видэвъ развэ жены рече ѥи: жено къде сѫть иже на тz важдаахѫ; ни кыи же ли тебе осѫди;	And when Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Where are those thine accusers? did no man condemn thee?

она же рече: ни кыи же господи. рече же ѥи исусъ: ни азъ тебе осѫждаѭ. иди и отъселэ не съгрэшаи кътому.	And she said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said, Neither do I judge thee: go thy way, and sin no more.

пакы же имъ рече iс7ъ гlz. азъ ѥсмь свэтъ вьсемU мирѫ. ходzи въ слэдъ мене. не имать ходити въ тьмэ. нъ имать живота вэчьнааго.	Again therefore Jesus spake unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.

рэшz же ѥму фарисеи: ты о себэ самъ съвэдэтельствуѥщи. съвэдэтельство твоѥ нэсть истиньно.	The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true.

отъвэща исусъ и рече имъ: аще азъ съвэдэтельствуѭ о мънэ самомь съвэдэтельство моѥ истиньно ѥсть. яко вэмь отъкѫду придохъ и камо идѫ. вы же не вэсте отькѫду грzдѫ и камо идѫ.	Jesus answered and said unto them, Even if I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye know not whence I come, and whither I go.

вы по плъти сѫдите. азъ не сѫждѫ ни кому же.	Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16	16
аще ли сѫждѫ азъ сѫдъ мои истиньнъ ѥсть яко ѥдинъ нэсмь. нъ азъ и посълавыи мz отьць.	Yea and if I judge, my judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17	17
и въ законэ вашемь писано ѥсть яко дъвою чловэку сьвэдэтельство истиньно ѥсть.	Yea and in your law it is written, that the witness of two men is true.
18	18
азъ ѥсмь съвэдэтельствуѩи о мънэ самомь и съвэдэтельствуѥть о мънэ посълавыи мz отьць.	I am he that beareth witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19	19
глаголаахѫ же ѥму: къто ѥсть отьць твои; отъвэща исусъ: ни мене вэсте ни отьца моѥго. аще мz бысте вэдэли и отьца моѥго бысте вэдэли.	They said therefore unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me, nor my Father: if ye knew me, ye would know my Father also.

сиѩ глаголы глагола исусъ въ газофилакии учz въ црькъви и ни къто же не ѩть ѥго яко не у бэ пришьла година ѥго.	These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man took him; because his hour was not yet come.

Рече же имъ пакы исусъ: азъ идѫ и възищете мене и въ грэсэ вашемь умьрете. аможе азъ идѫ вы не можете прити.	Jesus said therefore again unto them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: whither I go, ye cannot come.

глаголаахѫ же иудеи: еда самъ сz убиѥть; яко глаголѥть яможе азъ идѫ вы не можете прити.	The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?

и рече имъ: вы отъ нижьниихъ ѥсте азъ отъ вышьниихъ ѥсмь. вы отъ сего мира ѥсте азъ отъ сего мира нэсмь.	And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

рекохь убо вамъ яко умрьете въ грэсэхъ вашихъ. аще бо вэры не ѥмлѥте яко азъ ѥсмь умрете въ грэсэхъ вашихъ.	I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for except ye believe that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

глаголаахѫ же ѥму: ты къто ѥси; и рече имъ исусъ: начzтъкъ яко и глаголахъ вамъ.	They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus said unto them, Even that which I have also spoken unto you from the beginning.

мъного имамъ о васъ глаголати и сѫдити. оц7ь мои пославыи мя истиньнъ. ѥсть. и азъ яже слышахъ. t нѥго. си гlю въ міръ.	I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you: howbeit he that sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these say I unto the world.

и не разUмэша. яко оц7а имъ гlаше б7а.	They perceived not that he spake to them of the Father.

рече же имъ I©. ѥгда възнесете сн7а члbвча. тъгда разUмэѥте яко азъ ѥсмь. и о собэ ничто же не творю. нъ яко же наUчи мя оц7ь. си гlю.	Jesus therefore said unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I speak these things.

и пославыи мz съ мною ѥсть. не остави мене ѥдиного. яко азъ Uгодьная ѥмU творю вьсьгда.	And he that sent me is with me; the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always the things that are pleasing to him.

си гlющю ѥмU. мнози вэроваша въ нь.	As he spake these things, many believed on him.

гlаше же I©. къ вэровавъшиимъ къ нѥмU июдеомъ. аще вы пребUдете въ словеси моѥмь. въ истинU Uченици мои бUдете.	Jesus therefore said to those Jews that had believed him, If ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples;

и разUмэѥте истинU. и истина свободить вы.	and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

отъвэщашz и рэшz ѥму: сэмz авраамлѥ ѥсмъ и ни кому же не работахомъ ни коли же. како ты глаголѥши яко свободъ бѫдете;	They answered him, We are Abraham’s seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?

отъвэща имъ исусъ: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ яко вьсякъ творzи грэхъ рабъ ѥсть грэху.	Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Everyone that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin.

а рабъ не прэбываѥть въ дому въ вэкы сынъ же прэбываѥть въ вэкы.	And the bondservant abideth not in the house forever: the son abideth forever.

аще бо сынъ вы свободить въ истинѫ своводъ бѫдете.	If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

вэмь яко сэмz авраамлѥ ѥсте нъ ищете мене убити яко слово моѥ не въмэщаѥть сz въ вы.	I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; yet ye seek to kill me, because my word hath not free course in you.

азъ яже видэхъ у отьца моѥго глаголѭ и вы убо яже видэсте у отьца вашего творите.	I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye then do that which ye have seen with your father.

отъвэщашz и рэшz ѥму: отьць нашь авраамъ ѥсть. глагола имъ исусъ: аще чzда авраамля бысте были дэла авраамля творили бысте.	They answered and said unto him, Our father is Abraham. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

нынэ же ищете мене убити чловэка иже истинѫ вамъ глаголаахъ ѭже слышахъ отъ бога. сего авраамъ нэсть творилъ.	But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham.

вы творите дэла отьца вашего. рэшz же ѥму: мы отъ любодэяния нэсмъ рождени. мы ѥдиного отьца имаамъ бога.	Ye do the works of your father. They said therefore unto him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

рече же имъ исусъ: аще б7ъ оц7ь вашь бы былъ. любили мz бысте. азъ бо t б7а изидохъ и придохъ. не о собэ бо придохъ. нъ тъ мz посъла.	Jesus therefore said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I came forth and am come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me.

почто бесэды моѥя не разUмэѥте. яко не можете слышати словесе моѥго.	Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word.

вы t оц7z диявола ѥсте. и похоти оц7z вашего хощете творити. онъ чlвкU Uбиица бэ по земли искони. въ истинэ не стоить. яко нэсть истины въ немь. ѥгда гlеть лъжю. t своихъ гlъ. яко лъжь ѥсть оц7ь ѥго.	Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and standeth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.

азъ же зане с™ыню гlю. не емлете вэры мънэ.	But because I say the truth, ye believe me not.
46	46
кто же t васъ обличаѥть мz о грэсэ. аще истинU гlю. почто вы не ѥмлете вэры мънэ.	Which of you convicteth me of sin? And if I say truth, why do ye not believe me?

иже ѥсть t б7а гlъ б9ии послUшаѥть. сего ради вы не послUшаѥте. яко нэсте t б7а.	He that is of God heareth the words of God: for this cause ye hear them not, because ye are not of God.

tвэщашz июдэи и рэшz ѥмU. не добрэ ли гlемъ мы. яко самарzнинъ ѥси ты и бэсъ имаши.	The Jews therefore answered and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?

tвэща I©ъ азъ бэса не имамъ. нъ чтU оц7а моѥго. и вы не чьтете мене.	Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me.

азъ же не ищю славы моѥя. ѥсть ищzи и сUдzи.	But I seek not mine own glory: there is one that seeketh and judgeth.

аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ. аще кто слово моѥ съблюдеть съмьрти не имать видэти въ вэкы.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my word, he shall never see death.

рэша же ѥмU июдэи. нынэ разUмэхомъ яко бэсъ имаши. аврамъ Uмретъ и прbрци. и ты гlеши. яко аще кто слово моѥ съблюдеть. не имать съмьрти въкUсити въ вэкы.	The Jews therefore said unto him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my word, he shall never taste of death.

еда ты болии еси оц7а нашего аврама. иже Uмьртъ. и пророци Uмьроша. кого сz самъ твориши.	Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died: whom makest thou thyself?

tвэща I©ъ. аще азъ славлю сz самъ. слава моя ничсо же ѥсть. ѥсть оц7ь мои и славzи мz. ѥго же вы гlете яко б7ъ нашь ѥсть.	Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father that glorifieth me; of whom ye say, He is our God;

и не познасте ѥго азъ вэмь и. и аще рекU яко не вэмь ѥго бUдU подобьнъ вамъ лъжь. нъ вэмь и слово ѥго съблюдаю.	and ye have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be like unto you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word.

аврамъ оц7ь вашь радъ бы былъ. да бы вэдэлъ дэлъ дн7ь моихъ. и видэ и въздрадовасz.	Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it, and was glad.

рэшz же июдэи къ немU. е7. тьдесzтъ лэтъ не U имаши. аврама ли ѥси видэлъ.	The Jews therefore said unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

рече имъ I©ъ. аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ. прэже даже не бысть аврамъ азъ есмь.	Jesus therefore said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was born, I am.

възzшz же камение да вьргUть на нь. I©ъ же съкрысz и изиде въ цр7квь. и прошьдъ посредэ ихъ идzше и хожzше тако.	They took up stones therefore to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Глава 9	Chapter 9

Приходz I©ъ видэ чlвка слэпа t рожьства.	And as he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth.

и въпросишz и Uченици ѥго гlюще. равви кто съгрэши сь ли или родителz ѥго. да слэпъ родисz.	And his disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he should be born blind?

tвэща I©ъ. ни сь съгрэши ни родителz ѥго. нъ да явzтьсz дэла б9ия на немь.	Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

мънэ подобаѥть дэлати дэло посълавъшааго мz. донъдеже дьнь ѥсть придеть нощь. тъгда же никто же не можеть дэлати.	I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

ѥгда въ мирэ ѥсмь свэтъ ѥсмь мирови.	When I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

си рекъ плюнU на землю. и сътвори бьрние t плюновения. и помаза ѥмU очи бьрниемь.	When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

и рече ѥмU иди Uмыисz въ кUпэли силUамьсцэи. ѥже съказаѥтьсz посъланъ. идеже и Uмысz и приде видz.	and said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam (which is by interpretation, Sent). He went away therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

сUсэди же иже бzхU видэли и прэже. яко просилъ бэ. и гlаахU. не сь ли ѥсть сэдz и просzи.	The neighbors therefore, and they that saw him aforetime, that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

ови гlахU яко сь ѥсть. и ини гlахU подобьнъ ѥмU ѥсть. онъ же гlаше яко азъ ѥсмь.	Others said, It is he: and others, He is like him. He said, I am he.

гlахU же ѥмU како ти сz очи tвьрзоста.	They said therefore unto him, How were thine eyes opened?

tвэща онъ и рече. чlвкъ нарицаѥмыи I©ъ. бьрние сътвори. и помаза очи мои. и рече ми иди въ кUпэль силUамлю. и Uмыисz. шьдъ же Uмывъ сz прозьрэхъ.	He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went away and washed, and I received sight.

рэшz же ѥмU къто сь ѥсть. гlа не вэмь.	They said therefore unto him, Where is he? He saith, I know not.

ведоша же и къ fарисэомъ. иже бэ инъгда слэпъ.	They bring to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.

бэ же сUбота. ѥгда сътвори бьрниѥ I©ъ. и tвьрзе ѥмU очи.	Now it was the sabbath when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.

пакы же и въпрашахU fарисэи. како прозьрэ. онъ же рече имъ. бьрниѥ положи ми на очию. и Uмыхъсz и вижю.	Again therefore the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight. And he said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and I see.

гlахU же fарисэи етери. нэсть t б7а чlвкъ яко сUботы не хранить. ови гlахU. како можеть чlвкъ грэшьнъ сы. сицz знамения творити. распьрz бэ въ нихъ.	Some therefore of the Pharisees said, This man is not from God, because he keepeth not the sabbath. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such signs? And there was a division among them.

гlахU же слэпьцю пакы. ты что гlеши о немь. яко tвьрзе очи твои. онъ же рече прbркъ ѥсть.	They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, in that he opened thine eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.

не яшz же вэры июдэи о немь. яко бэ слэпъ и прозьрэ. донъдеже възгласишz родителz ѥго. прозьрэвъшааго.	The Jews therefore did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and had received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight,

и въпросишz я гlюще. се ли ѥсть сн7ъ ваю. ѥго же вы гlета яко слэпъ родисz. како Uбо видить.	and asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

tвэщаста имъ родителz ѥго. рэста вэвэ яко сь ѥсть сн7ъ наю. яко слэпъ родисz.	And his parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

како же нынэ видить не вэвэ. ны кто ѥмU tвьрзе очи не вэвэ. самого въпросите. въздрасть имать. самъ о себе гlеть.	but how he now seeth, we know not; or who opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him; he shall speak for himself.

сице реста родителz ѥго. яко бояшетасz июдэи. Uже бо сz бzхU съложили съ июдэи. да аще кто исповэсть х©а. tлUченъ съньмища бUдеть.	These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man should confess him to be Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

сего ради родителz ѥго рэста. яко въздрасть имать. самого въпросите.	Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

възгласишz же въторицею чlвка иже бэ слэпъ. и рэша дажь славU бо7µ. мы вэмь яко чlвкъ сь грэшьнъ ѥсть.	So they called a second time the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give glory to God: we know that this man is a sinner.

отъвэщz же онъ рече. аще грэшьникъ ѥсть не вэмь. ѥдино вэмь яко слэпъ бэхъ нынэ же вижю.	He therefore answered and said, Whether he is a sinner, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

рэша же ѥмU чьто сътвори тебэ. како tвьрзе очи твои.	And they said unto him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?

tвэща имъ рэхъ вамъ. Uже слышасте. чьто пакы хощете слышати ѥда вы Uченици ѥго хощете быти.	He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?

они же и Uкориша и рэша. ты Uченикъ ѥси того. мы же мосэови ѥсмъ Uченици.	They reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are disciples of Moses.

мы вэмы яко мосэови гlа б7ъ. сего же не вэмы tкUдU ѥсть.	We know that God hath spoken unto Moses: but as for this man, we know not whence he is.

tвэща чlвкъ и рече имъ. о семь Uбо дивьно ѥсть. яко вы не вэсте tкUдU ѥсть. иже tвьрзе мои очи.	The man answered and said unto them, Why, herein is a marvel, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he opened mine eyes.

вэмь же яко грэшьникъ б7ъ не послUшаеть. нъ аще кто бо7чьтьць ѥсть. и волю ѥго творить. того послUшаѥть.	Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshiper of God, and do his will, him he heareth.

tвэщаша и рэша ѥмU. въ грэсэхъ ты родилъсz ѥси вьсь. и ты ли нынэ Uчиши ны. изгънаша же и вънъ.	They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.

слъшавъ же I©ъ яко изгънаша и вънъ. и обрэтъ и рече ѥмU ты вэрUѥши ли въ сн7а б9ия.	Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and finding him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

tвэща онъ и рче. къто ѥсть Gи. да вэрU имU въ нь.	He answered and said, And who is he, Lord, that I may believe on him?

и рече же ѥмU I©ъ. видэлы и ѥси гlzи съ тобою тъ ѥсть.	And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and he it is that speaketh with thee.

онъ же рече ѥмU. вэрUю Gи и поклонисz ѥмU.	And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.

и рече исусъ: на сUдъ азъ придохъ. въ миръ сь. да мене видzще видzть. и видzщеи слэпи бUдUть.	And Jesus said, For judgment came I into this world, that they that see not may see; and that they that see may become blind.

слышашz се t фарисэи. сUщии съ нимь. рэша ѥмU. ѥда мы слэпи ѥсмъ.	And those of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things, and said unto him, Are we also blind?

рече имъ I©ъ. аще бысте слэпи были. не бысте имэли грэха. нынэ же гlете яко видимъ. и грэхъ вашь прэбываѥть.	Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye would have no sin: but now ye say, We see: therefore your sin remaineth.
Глава 10	Chapter 10

Аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ. не въходяи двьрьми въ дворъ овьчии. нъ прэлазz инUдU тать есть и разбоиникъ.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

а въходzи двьрьми пастырь ѥсть овьцамъ.	But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

семU двьрьникъ tвьрзаѥть и овьцz гласъ ѥго слышzть. своя овьцz зоветь. по имени изгонить я.	To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

ѥгда же своя овьцz изгонить прэдъ ними ходить. и овьцz по немь идUть. яко видzть гласъ ѥго.	And when he hath put forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5	5
по чюждемь же не идUть нъ бэжzть t него. яко не знають чюждиихъ гласа.	And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

сия притъчz рече имъ I©ъ. они же не разUмэшz. что сUть. яже имъ гlаше.	This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

рече имъ I©ъ пакы. аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ. азъ ѥсмь двьрь овьцамъ.	Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

вьсе ѥлико же ихъ приде прэже мене татиѥ сUть и разбоиници. нъ не послUшzша ихъ овьцz.	All that have come are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9	9
азъ ѥсмь двьрь. мъною аще кто вънидеть спс7етьсz. и вънидеть и изидеть и пажить обрzщеть.	I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.
10	10
тать не приходить. нъ да Uкрадеть. и Uбьѥть и погUбить. азъ приидохъ да животъ имэють. и лише имэють.	The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

азъ ѥсмь пастUхъ добрыи. пастUхъ добрыи и дш7ю свою полагаѥть за wвьца.	I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.
12	12
и наимьникъ иже нcэ пастUхъ. ѥмU же не сUть. овьца своя. видить вълка идUща. и оставляѥть овьца и бэжить. и вълкъ расхытить я. и распUдить овьца.	But he that is a hireling, and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, beholdeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth, and the wolf snatcheth them, and scattereth the sheep:

а наимьникъ бэжить. яко иаимьникъ ѥсть. яко о wвьцахъ не родить.	and the hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

азъ ѥсмь пастUхъ добрыи. и знаю моя. и знають мя моя.	I am the good shepherd; and I know mine own, and am known of mine own,
15	15
яко же знаѥть мz оць. и азъ знаю оц7а. и дш7ю мою полагаю за овьца.	even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16	16
ины овьца имамъ. яже не сUть. t двора сего. и ты ми подобаѥть привести и глаc мои Uслышати. и бUдеть ѥдино стадо. и ѥдинъ пастUхъ.	And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

сего ради мz оц7ь любить. яко азъ полагаю дш7ю мою. да пакы приимU ю.	Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18	18
никто же възьметь ѥя t мене. нъ азъ не полагаю ѥя о себэ. область имамъ положити ю. и область имамъ прияти ю. сию заповэдь прияхъ t оц7а моѥго.	No one taketh it away from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment received I from my Father.

распрz же пакы бысть въ июдэихъ. за словеса си.	There arose a division therefore again among the Jews because of these words.
20	20
гlаахU же мънози t нихъ. бэсъ имать и неистовъ ѥсть. чьто ѥго послUшаѥте.	And many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why hear ye him?

ини гlаахU си гlи не сUть бэсьнUющиисz. ѥда бэсъ можеть слэпыимъ очи даяти.	Others said, These are not the sayings of one possessed with a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?

Бэша же тъгда сщ7ения въ иѥрUсалимэ. и зима бэ	And it was the feast of the dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter;

и хождааше iс7ъ въ цр7кви. въ прэторэ соломони.	and Jesus was walking in the temple in Solomon’s porch.

обидU же и июдэи. и гlаахU же ѥмU. докола дш7а нашz въземлеши. аще ты ѥси х©ъ. рьци намъ не обинUясz.	The Jews therefore came round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou hold us in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.

tвэща имъ I©ъ рэхъ вамъ и не вэрUѥте. дэла яже азъ творю. вы имz оц7z моѥго. та съвэдэтельствUють о мънэ.	Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believe not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, these bear witness of me.

нъ вы не вэрUѥте. нэсте бо t овьць моихъ. яко же рэхъ вамъ.	But ye believe not, for ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

овьца моя гласа моѥго слUшають. и язъ знаю я. и по мънэ грzдUть.	My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

и язъ животъ вэчьныи даю имъ. и не погыбнUть въ вэкы. и не въсхытить ихъ никто же t рUкы моѥя.	and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

оц7ь мои иже дасть я мънэ болии вьсэхъ ѥсть. и никто же не можеть въсхытити t рUкы оц7z моѥго.	My Father, who hath given them unto me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

азъ и оц7ь ѥдино ѥсвэ.	I and the Father are one.

и възzша камениѥ пакы июдэи. да и побиють.	The Jews therefore took up stones again to stone him.

tвэща имъ I©ъ. многа дэла добра даяхъ вамъ t оц7а моѥго. за коѥ ихъ дэло камение на мz метаѥте.	Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

tвэщаша ѥмU июдэи гlюще. о добрэ дэлэ не мечемъ камениѥмь на тz. нъ о власвимии. яко ты чlвкъ сътворишисz самъ б7ъ.	The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

tвэща же I©ъ и рече имъ. нэсть ли написано въ законэ вашемь. яко азъ рэхъ бз7и ѥсте.	Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

аще оны рече б7ы. къ нимъ же рече слово б9иѥ. и не могUть сz разорити кънигы.	If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken),

ѥго же оц7ь с™и. и посъла въ миръ. вы гlете яко власfимисаѥши. зане рэхъ яко сн7ъ б9ии ѥсмь.	say ye of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

аще не творю дэлъ оц7а моѥго. не имате вэры.	If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38	38
аще ли творю. аще мънэ вэры не емлете. дэломъ моимъ вэрU имэте. да разUмэѥте и вэрUѥте. яко въ мънэ оц7ь и язъ въ оц7и.	But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.

искаахѫ же ѥго пакы ѩти и изиде отъ рѫкъ ихъ.	They sought therefore again to take him: and he went forth out of their hand.
40	40
и иде пакы на онъ полъ иордана на мэсто идеже бэ иоанъ прэжде крьстz и прэбысть ту.	And he went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was at the first baptizing; and there he abode.

и мънози придошz къ нѥму и глаголаахѫ яко иоанъ убо знамения не сотвори ни ѥдиного же. вься же ѥлико рече иоанъ о семь истина бэ.	And many came unto him; and they said, John indeed did no sign: but all things whatsoever John spake of this man were true.

и мънози вэровашz въ нѥго ту.	And many believed on him there.
Глава 11	Chapter 11

Бэ нэкто болz лазорь. отъ виfания града мариина. и марfы сестры ѥя.	Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, of the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

бэ же мария помазавъши Gа мµръмь. и отьрши нозэ ѥго власы своими. ѥя же братъ. лазорь болzаше.	And it was that Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

посъласте же сестрэ ѥго къ нѥмU гlющи. Gи се ѥго же любиши болить.	The sisters therefore sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4	4
слышавъ же iс7 рече. си болэзнь нэc къ съмьрти. нъ о славэ божии. да прославитьсz сн7ъ б9ии ѥю.	But when Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.

люблzаше же iс7 марfU и сестрU ѥя. и лазорz	Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.

да яко Uслыша яко болить. тогда Uбо пребыc. на нѥмь же бэ мэстэ два дн7и.	When therefore he heard that he was sick, he abode at that time two days in the place where he was.

потомь же гlа Uченикомъ. поидэмъ въ июдею пакы.	Then after this he saith to the disciples, Let us go into Judea again.

гlаша ѥмU Uченици ѥго. равви. нынэ искахU тебе жидове. камениѥмь побiти. и пакы ли идеши тамо.	The disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews were but now seeking to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?

tвэща iс7. не два ли на десzте часа ѥста въ дн7е. аще кто ходить. въ дн7е. не потъкнетьсz. яко свэтъ мира сего видить.	Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If a man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.

аще ли же кто ходить въ нощи. потъкнетьсz. яко свэта нэc о нѥм.	But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because the light is not in him.
11	11
си рече. и по семь гlа имъ. лазорь дрUгъ нашь Uсъпе. нъ идU UбUжю ѥго.	These things spake he: and after this he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.

рэша же Uченици ѥго. Gи аще Uсъпе. сп7снъ бUдетъ.	His disciples therefore said, Lord, if he is fallen asleep, he will recover.

iс7 же рече. о съмьрти ѥго. они же мьнэшz яко о усъпении съну глаголѥть.	Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they thought that he spake of taking rest in sleep.

тъгда рече имъ исусъ не обинуѩ сz: лазарь умрэ	Then Jesus therefore said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15	15
и радуѭ сz васъ ради да вэрѫ имете яко не бэхъ ту нъ идэмь къ нѥму.	And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
16	16
рече же fома нарицаѥмыи близньць къ ученикомъ: идэмъ и мы да умьремъ съ нимь.	Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said unto his fellow disciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.

пришьдъ же исусъ въ виfаниѭ обрэте и четыри дьни уже имѫщь въ гробэ.	So when Jesus came, he found that he had been in the tomb four days already.

бэ же виfания близъ иерусалима яко пzть на десzте попрьищь.	Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off;

мънози же отъ иудеи бэахѫ пришьли къ марfэ и марии да утэшzть и о братэ ѥю.	and many of the Jews had come the women around Martha and Mary, to console them concerning their brother.

марfа же ѥгда услыша яко исусъ грzдеть срьэте и а мария дома сэдэаше.	Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary still sat in the house.

рече же марfа къ исусови: господи аще бы сьде былъ не бы братъ мои умрьлъ.	Martha therefore said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

нъ и нынэ вэмь яко ѥгоже колижьдо просиши отъ бога дасть тебэ богъ.	But even now I know that, whatsoever thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee.

глагола ѥи исусъ: въскрьснеть братъ твои.	Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

глагола ѥму марfа: вэмь яко въскрьснеть въ въскрэшениѥ въ послэдьнии дьнь.	Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

рече ѥи исусъ: азъ ѥсмь въскрэшениѥ и животъ. вэруѩи въ мz аще и умьреть оживеть.	Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth on me, though he die, yet shall he live;

и вьсякь живыи и вэруѩ въ мz не умьреть въ вэкъ. имеши ли вэрѫ сему;	and whosoever liveth and believeth on me shall never die. Believest thou this?

глагола ѥму: еи господи азъ вэруѭ яко ты ѥси христосъ сынъ божии грzдыи въ миръ.	She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I have believed that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, even he that cometh into the world.

и се рекъши иде и призъва мариѭ сестрѫ своѭ отаи рекъши: учитель се ѥсть и зоветь тz.	And when she had said these things, she went away, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Teacher is here, and calleth thee.

она же яко услыша въста скоро и иде къ нѥму.	She, when she heard it, arose quickly, and goeth unto him.

не бэ же не у пришьлъ исусъ въ вьсь нъ бэ на мэстэ ѥще идеже сърэте и марfа.	(Now Jesus was not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha met him.)

иудеи же сѫщеи съ нѥѭ въ дому и утэшаѭще ѭ видэвъ- ше мариѭ яко скоро въста и изиде по нѥи идошz глаголѭще яко идеть на гробъ да плачеть сz ту.	The Jews then who were with her in the house, and were consoling her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the tomb to weep there.

мария же яко приде идеже бэ исусъ видэвъши и паде ѥму на ногу глаголѭщи ѥму: господи аще бы былъ сьде не бы мои братъ умрьль.	Mary therefore, when she came where Jesus was, and saw him, fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

исусъ же яко видэ ѭ плачѫщѫ сz и пришьдъшzѩ съ нѥѭ иудеѩ плачѫщz сz запрэти духу и възмѫти сz самъ	When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping who came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

и рече: къде положисте и; глаголашz ѥму: господи приди и виждь.	and said, Where have ye laid him? They say unto him, Lord, come and see.

и просльзи сz исусъ.	Jesus wept.

глаголаахѫ же иудеи: виждь како любляаше и.	The Jews therefore said, Behold how he loved him!

нэции же отъ нихъ рекошz: не можааше ли сь отъврьзыи очи слэпуу му сътворити да и сь не умьреть;	But some of them said, Could not this man, who opened the eyes of him that was blind, have caused that this man also should not die?

исусъ же пакы прэтz въ себэ приде къ гробу. бэ же пещера и камень лежааше на нѥи.	Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone lay against it.

глагола исусъ: възьмэте камень. глагола ѥму сестра умрьръшааго марfа: господи уже смрьдить. четврэдьневьнъ бо ѥсть.	Jesus saith, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time the body decayeth; for he hath been dead four days.

глагола ѥи исусъ: не рекохъ ли ти яко аще вэруѥши узьриши славѫ божиѭ;	Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou believedst, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

възzшz же камень идеже бэ умьрыи лежz. исусъ же възведе выспрь очи и рече: отьче хвалѫ тебэ въздаѭ яко услышz мz.	So they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou heardest me.

азъ же вэдэахъ яко вьсегда мене послушаѥщи нъ народа ради стоѩщааго окрьстъ рэхь да вэрѫ имѫть яко ты мz посъла.	And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the multitude that standeth around I said it, that they may believe that thou didst send me.

и се рекъ гласъмь великъмь възъва: лазаре грzди вънъ.	And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

и абиѥ изиде умьрыи обzзанъ ногама и рѫкама укроимь и лице ѥго убрусъмь обzзано. глагола имъ исусъ: раздрэшите и и не дэите ѥго ити.	And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

мънози же отъ иудеи пришьдъше къ марии и видэвъше ѥже сътвори исусъ вэровашz въ нѥго.	Many therefore of the Jews, who came to Mary and beheld the things which Jesus did, believed on him.

ѥдини же отъ нихъ идошz къ фарисеомъ и рэшz имъ ѥже сътвори исусъ.	But some of them went away to the Pharisees, and told them the things which Jesus had done.

събьрашасz архиерэи. и fарисэи съ ними на iс7а. и гlахѫ что сътворимъ. яко чlвкъ сь многа знамения творить.	The chief priests therefore and the Pharisees gathered a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many signs.

яко оставимъ и. тако мнози вэрU имUть въ нь. и придUть римлzне. и възьмUть и. и мьстz языкъ.	If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.

ѥдинъ же t нихъ. каияфа архиѥрэи сы лэтU томU и рече имъ вы не вэсте ничсоже.	But a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,

ни помышлzѥте. яко Uне есть вамъ. да ѥдинъ чlвкъ Uмьреть за люди. а не вьсь языкъ погыбнеть.	nor do ye consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.

сего же о собэ не рече. нъ архиереи сы лэтU томU прорче. яко хотzше I©ъ Uмрети за люди.	Now this he said not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;

и не тъкмо за люди. нъ да и чада б9ия расточеная събереть въ ѥдино.	and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God that are scattered abroad.

t того же дн7е съвэщашz на нь да и быша Uбили.	So from that day forth they took counsel together that they might put him to death.

I©ъ же къ нимъ не явэ хождааше въ июдэихъ. нъ иде tтUдU въ странU. близь пUстынz въ ѥфрэмъ. нарицаѥмыи градъ. и тU живzше съ Uченикы своими.	Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews, but departed thence into the country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim; and there he tarried with his disciples.

бэ же близъ пасха иудеиска и възидошz мънози въ иерусалимъ отъ страны прэжде пасхы да очистzть сz.	Now the passover of the Jews was at hand: and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, to purify themselves.

искаахѫ же исуса и глаголаахѫ къ себэ въ црькъви стоѩще: чьто сz мьнить вамъ яко не имать ли прити въ праздьникъ;	They sought therefore for Jesus, and spake one with another, as they stood in the temple, What think ye? That he will not come to the feast?

дашz бо архиереи и фарисеи заповэдь да аще къто ощѫтить и къде бѫдеть повэсть да имѫть и.	Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandment, that, if any man knew where he was, he should show it, that they might take him.
Глава 12	Chapter 12

Исусъ же прэжде шести дьнъ пасхи приде въ виfаниѭ идеже бэ лазарь умьрыи ѥгоже въскрэси из мрьтвыихъ.	Jesus therefore six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, who had died, whom he raised from the dead.

сътворишz же ѥму вечерѭ ту и марfа служааше. лазарь же ѥдинъ бэ отъ възлежащиихъ съ нимъ.	So they made him a supper there: and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of them that sat at meat with him.

мария же приимъши литрѫ мµра наръда пистикиѩ мъногоцэньныѩ помаза нозэ исусъовэ и отрье власы своими нозэ ѥго. храмина же напълни сz отъ вонѩ мµрьныѩ.	Mary therefore took a pound of ointment of pure nard, very precious, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.

глагола же ѥдинъ отъ ученикъ ѥго иуда симонь искариотьскыи иже хотэаше прэдати и:	Then one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, that should betray him, saith,

се же рече не яко о нищиихъ печааше сz нъ яко тать бэ и рачицѫ имы и въмэтаѥмая ношааше.	Now this he said, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and took away what was put therein.

рече же исусъ: не дэите ѥѩ. въ дьнь погребения моѥго съблюде ѭ.	Jesus therefore said, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.

нищzѩ бо вьсегда съ собоѭ имаате мене же не вьсегда имаате.	For the poor ye have always with you; but me ye have not always.

разумэ же народъ мъногъ отъ иудеи яко ту ѥсть и придошz не исуса ради тъкъмо нъ да и лазаря видzть ѥгоже въскрэси отъ мрьтвыихъ.	Much people of the Jews therefore learned that he was there: and they came, not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.

съвэщашz же архиереи да и лазаря убиѭть.	But the chief priests took counsel that they might put Lazarus also to death;

яко мънози ѥго ради идэахѫ иудеи и вэроваахѫ въ исуса.	because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.

въ утрэи же дьнь народъ мъногъ пришьдыи въ праздьникъ слышавъше яко исусъ грzдеть въ иерусалимъ	On the morrow a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

прияшz вэиѥ отъ фµникъ и изидошz противѫ ѥму и зъваахѫ глаголѭще: осанъна благословлѥнъ грzдыи въ имz господьне царь израилѥвъ.	took the branches of the palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel.

обрэтъ же исусъ осьлz въсэде на нѥ якоже ѥсть писано:	And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

не бои сz дъщи сионова се царь твои грzдеть сэдz на жрэбzти осьли.	Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

сихъ же не разумэшz ученици ѥго прэжде. нъ ѥгда прослави сz исусъ тъгда помzнѫшz яко си бэшz о нѥмь писана. и си сътворишz ѥму.	And these things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

послUшьствоваше iс7ви народъ. иже бэ съ нимь. ѥгда лазорz възгласи t гроба. и въстави ѥго t мьртвыихъ.	The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, and raised him from the dead, bare witness.

сего дэля и сърэте ѥго народъ. яко слышаша ѥго. се сътворьша. знамениѥ.	For this cause also the multitude went and met him, for that they heard that he had done this sign.

фарисеи же рекоша ко себе сами. видите ли яко никая же польза ѥсть. се вьсь миръ. по нѥмь tиде.	The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Behold how ye prevail nothing; lo, the world is gone after him.

бzхU же еллини нэции. t въсходzщиихъ поклонитъсz въ праздьникъ.	Now there were certain Greeks among those that went up to worship at the feast:

сии же пристUпиша къ филипU. иже бэ t виfсаиды галилеискыя. и молzхUсz ѥмU гlще. Gи хощемъ iс7а видэти.	these therefore came to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.

приде фµлипъ и гlа андреови. и пакы анъдреа и Филипъ гlаста iс7U.	Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.

iс7 же wтъвэщавъ има гlя. приде чаc. да прославитьсz сн7ъ члв7чь.	And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

аминъ гlю вамъ. аще зьрно пьшеничьно падъ землю не Uмреть. то ѥдино пребUдеть. аще ли Uмреть. плодъ многъ сътворить.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a grain of wheat fall into the earth and die, it abideth by itself alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit.

любzи душю свою погUбить ю. и ненавидzи дш7а своѥя. въ мирэ семь. въ животъ вэчьныи съхранить ю.	He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

аще кто мнэ слUжитъ. по мнэ да ходить. и къде же ѥсмь азъ. тU и слUга мои да будеть. и аще кто мнэ слUжить. почтети и оц7ь.	If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: and if any man serve me, him will the Father honor.

ныня дш7а моя възмUтисz. и что рекU. о§е сп7си мz t часа сего. нъ сего дэля придохъ на часъ сь.	Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause came I unto this hour.

Оч7е прослави имz твоѥ. приде же глаc с нб7се. и прославихъ. и пакы прославлю.	Father, glorify thy name. There came therefore a voice out of heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.

народъ же стояи. и слышавъ. гlахU громъ быc. ини гlаахU. анGлъ ѥмU гlа.	The multitude therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it had thundered: others said, An angel hath spoken to him.

tвэща iс7 и рече имъ. не мене дэля глаc сь быc. нъ васъ дэля.	Jesus answered and said, This voice hath not come for my sake, but for your sakes.

нынэ сUдъ ѥсть мирU семU. ныня кнzзь мiра сего. ижденетьсz вънъ.	Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

и азъ аще възнесUсz t земля. всz привлекU къ собэ.	And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto myself.

се же гlаше. знаменая коѥю съмьртью хотzше Uмрети.	But this he said, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

tвэща ѥмU народъ. мы слышахомъ t закона. яко х©ъ пребываѥть въ вэкы. и како ты гlѥши. възнестисz подобаѥть. сынови члвbчьскU. кто сь ѥсть сн7ъ члbвчь.	The multitude answered him, We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth forever: and how sayest thou, The Son of man must be lifted up? who is this Son of man?

рече же имъ iс7. еще мало времz. свэтъ съ вами ѥсть. ходите дондеже свэтъ имате. да тьма васъ не иметь. и ходzи въ тьмэ. ие вэсть камо идеть.	Jesus therefore said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness overtake you not: and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

дондеже свэтъ имате. вэрUите въ свэтъ. да сн7ове свэта бUдете. се гlа iс7. и tшьдъ. съкрысz t нихъ.	While ye have the light, believe on the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spake Jesus, and he departed and hid himself from them.

тако же ѥмU знамения творzщю. предъ ними. не вэровахU въ нѥго.	But though he had done so many signs before them, yet they believed not on him:

да събUдетьсz слово исаия прbрка ѥже рече Gи. кто вэрова слUхU нашемU. и мышьца гн7я комU tкрысz.	that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?

ослэпи очи ихъ. и окамени ср7дца ихъ. да не видить очима. ни разUмэють с®цмь и обратzтьсz. и исцэлю я.	He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; Lest they should see with their eyes, and perceive with their heart, And should turn again, And I should heal them.

се же рече исаиz. ѥгда видэ славU ѥго. и гlа о нѥмь.	These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory; and he spake of him.

обаче Uбо. и t кнzзь мнози вэроваша въ нѥго. нъ фарисеи дэля. не исповэдаахU. да не t съньмищь. изгнани бUдUть.	Nevertheless even of the rulers many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

възлюбиша бо паче славU члbвчьскU. неже славU б9ию.	for they loved the glory that is of men more than the glory that is of God.

и i©ъ же възъва и рече. вэрUzи въ мz. не вэрUѥть въ мене. нъ въ посълавъшааго мz.	And Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

и видzи мене видить пославъшааго мz.	And he that beholdeth me beholdeth him that sent me.

азъ свэтъ въ миръ придохъ. да вьсzкъ вэрUяи въ мz. въ тьмэ не прэбUдеть.	I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.

и аще кто Uслышить гlы моя. и не съблюдеть ихъ. азъ не сUжю ѥмU. не придохъ бо да сUжю мирU. нъ да сп7сU миръ.	And if any man hear my sayings, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

tмэтаяисz мене. и не приѥмляи гlъ моихъ. имать сUдzщаго ѥмU. слово ѥже гlахъ. то сUдить ѥму въ послэдьнии дн7ь.	He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my sayings, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I spake, the same shall judge him in the last day.

яко азъ о собэ не гlахъ. нъ пославыи мz оц7ь тъ мънэ заповэдалъ. что рекU и что възгlю.	For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

и вэдэ яко заповэдь ѥго. животъ вэчьныи ѥсть. яко же Uбо азъ гlю. яко же рече мнэ отьць. тако глаголю.	And I know that his commandment is life eternal; the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak.
Глава 13	Chapter 13

Прэжде же праздьника пасхы вэды исусъ яко приде ѥму година да прэидеть отъ мира сего къ отьцу. възлюбль своѩ сѫщzѩ въ вьсемь мирэ до коньца възлюби ѩ.	Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own that were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

и вечери бывъши диаволу уже въложьшу въ срьдьце иудэ симонову искариотьскуу му да ѥго прэдасть.	And supper being ended, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, to betray him,

Вэдыи же iс7. яко все дасть ѥмU оц7ь. въ рUцэ. и яко t б7а изиде. и къ бо7µ идеть.	Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and goeth unto God,

въста съ вечеря. и положи ризы и възьмъ леньтионъ. препоясасz.	riseth from supper, and layeth aside his garments; and he took a towel, and girded himself.

по томь же вълья водU въ Uмывальницю. и нача Uмывати нозэ Uченикомъ. и отирати лентиомь. имь же препоясанъ.	Then he poureth water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

приде же къ симонU петру. и гlа ѥмU онъ. Gи ты ли мои Uмываѥши нозэ.	So he cometh to Simon Peter: and he saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet?

tвэща iс7 и рече ѥмU. ѥже азъ творю. ты не вэси нынэ. разUмэѥши же по семь.	Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter.

гlа ѥмU петръ. не Uмыѥши ногU моѥю въ вэкы. tвэща ѥмU iс7. Аще не Uмыю тебе. не имаши части. съ мною.	Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.

гlа ѥмU симонъ петръ. Gи не нозэ мои ѥдинэ. нъ рUцэ и главU.	Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.

гlа ѥмU iс7. измъвеныи не требUѥть. тъкъмо нозэ Uмыти. ѥсть бо вьсь чистъ. и вы чисти ѥсте. нъ не вьси.	Jesus saith to him, He that is bathed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

вэдzше бо. предающаго и. сего ради рече. яко не вьси ѥсте чисти.	For he knew him that should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

ѥгда же Uмы нозэ іхъ. възz ризы своя. и възлегъ пакы рече имъ. вэсте ли что сътворихъ. вамъ.	So when he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, having sat down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you?

възовэте^* мя. Uчителя и Gа. и добрэ гlѥте ѥсмь бо.	Ye call me, Teacher, and, Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.
14	14
Аще Uбо азъ Uмыхъ ваши нозэ. Gь и Uчітель. и вы дължни ѥсте. дрUгъ дрUгU Uмывати нозэ.	If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15	15
образ бо дахъ вамъ. да яко же азъ сътворихъ вамъ. и вы да творите.	For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.

ам7нъ ам7нъ гlю вамъ. нэc рабъ болии гн7а своѥго. ни посланыи болии пославъшааго и.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord; neither one that is sent greater than he that sent him.

аще се вэсте блажени ѥсте. аще творите се.	If ye know these things, blessed are ye if ye do them.

Не о вьсэхъ васъ глаголѭ. азъ бо вэмь ѩже избьрахъ нъ да кънигы събѫдѫть сz: ядыи съ мъноѭ хлэбъ въздвиже на мz пzтѫ своѭ.	I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me lifted up his heel against me.

отъ селэ глаголѭ вамъ прэжде даже не бѫдеть да ѥгда бѫдеть вэрѫ имете яко азъ ѥсмь.	From henceforth I tell you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he.

аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ: приѥмлѩи аще кого посълѭ мене приѥмлѥть. а приѥмлѩи мене приѥмлѥть посълавъшааго мz.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Си рекъ исусъ възмѫти сz духъмь и съвэдэтельствова и рече: аминь аминь глаголѭ вамъ яко ѥдинъ отъ васъ прэдасть мz.	When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in the spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

съзираахѫ же сz междѫ собоѫ ученици не домышлzще о комь глаголѥть.	The disciples therefore looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake.

бэ же ѥдинъ възлежz отъ ученикъ ѥго на лонэ исусовэ ѥгоже любляаше исусъ.	Now there was at the table reclining in Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

поманѫ же сему симонъ петръ въпросити къто убо ѥсть о нѥмьже глаголѥть.	Simon Peter therefore beckoneth to him, that he should ask who it might be of whom he speaketh.

нападъ же тъ тако на прьси исусовы глагола ѥму: господи къто ѥсть;	But he leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it?

отъвэща исусъ: тъ ѥсть ѥмуже азъ омочь хлэбъ подамъ. и омочь хлэбъ дасть иудэ симоню искариотьскууму.	Jesus answereth, He it is, to whom I shall give the sop, when I have dipped it. And having dipped the sop, he giveth it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

и по хлэбэ тъгда въниде въ нь сотона. глагола ѥму исусъ: ѥже твориши сътвори скоро.	And after the sop, then entered Satan into him. Jesus therefore saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly.

сего же ни кто же разумэ възлежzщиихъ къ чьсому рече ѥму.	Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him.

ѥдини мьнэахѫ понѥже скриницѫ имэаше иуда яко глаголѥть ѥму исусъ: купи ѥгоже трэбуѥмь на праздьникъ ли нищиимъ да нэчто дасть.	For some thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus said unto him, Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

приѥмъ же онъ хлэбъ изиде абие. бэ же нощь. Рече г7ь своимъ Uченикомъ.	He then having received the sop straightaway went out: and it was night.

нынэ прослависz сн7ъ чlвчь. и б7ъ прослависz о нѥмь.	When he was gone out, Jesus saith, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

аще б7ъ прослависz о нѥмь. и б7ъ прославить ѥго въ собэ. и абиѥ прославить ѥго.	If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and straightaway shall he glorify him.

чадьца еще мало съ вами ѥсмь. възищете мене. и яко же рекохъ. жидомъ. яко ямо же азъ идU. вы не можете приити. и вамъ гlю нынэ.	Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you.

заповэдь нову даю вамъ. да любите дрUгъ дрUга. яко же възлюбихъ васъ. да и вы любите другъ дрUга.	A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

о семь разUмэють вси яко мои Uченици ѥсте. аще любъве имате межю собою.	By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

гlа ѥмU симонъ петръ. Gи камо идеши. tвэща ѥмU iс7. ямо же азъ идU. не можеши нынэ по мнэ ити. послэди же по мнэ поидеши.	Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him, Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but afterward thou shalt follow me.

гlа ѥмU симонъ петръ. Gи почто не могU нынэ поити по тобэ. нынэ дш7ю свою положю за тебе.	Peter saith unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee even now? I will lay down my life for thee.

tвэща ѥмU iс7. дш7ю ли свою за мя положиши. ам7нъ ам7нъ гlю тебе. не въспоѥть кUръ. дондеже отъвьржешисz мене тришьдU.	Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for me? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice.
Глава 14	Chapter 14

Да не съмUщаѥтьсz ваше ср7дце. вэрUите въ б7а. и въ мz вэрUите.	Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me.
2	2
въ домU оц7а моѥго. обитэли многы сUть. аще ли же ни. реклъ быхъ вамъ. яко идU Uготовати мэсто вамъ.	In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3	3
и аще идU Uготовати мэсто вамъ. пакы приидU. и поимU вы къ собэ. да идеже ѥсмь азъ. и вы бUдэте.	And if I go, I will prepare for you a place; I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4	4
и ямо же азъ идU. вэсте и пUть вэсте.	And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5	5
гlа ѥмU fома. Gи не вэмь камо идеши. и како пUть можемъ видэти.	Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

гlа ѥму iс7. азъ ѥсмь пUть и истина. и животъ. никто же придеть къ оц7ю. нъ тъкмо мною.	Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one cometh unto the Father, but by me.

аще мя бысте знали. и оц7а моѥго знали бысте Uбо. tселэ познаѥте ѥго. и видэсте ѥго.	If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

гlа ѥмU филипъ. Gи покажи намъ оц7а. и довлэѥть намъ.	Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

гlа ѥмU iс7. толико время съ вами ѥсмь. и не познали мене филипе. видэвыи мене видить оц7а. и како ты гlѥши. покажи намъ оц7а.	Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou, Show us the Father?

не вэрUѥши ли. яко азъ въ оц7и. и оц7ь въ мънэ ѥсть. Гlы яже азъ гlю вамъ о собэ не гlю. оц7ь же пребываяи въ мнэ. тъ творить дэла.	Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father that abideth in me, he doeth the works.

вэрU имэте мънэ. яко азъ въ оц7и. и оц7ь въ мнэ ѥсть. аще ли же ни. за та дэла вэрU имэте ми.	Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.

ам7нъ. ам7нъ. гlю вамъ. вэрUяи въ мя. дэла яже азъ творю. и тъ сътворить. и больша сътворить сихъ. яко азъ къ оц7ю моѥмU грzдU.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

и ѥго же аще просите. въ имя моѥ то сътворю. да прославитьсz оц7ь о сн7э.	And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14	14
и аще что просите U мене. въ имя моѥ то сътворю.	If ye shall ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
15	15
аще любите мя. заповэди моя съблюдете.	If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16	16
и азъ Uмолю оц7а и иного Uтэшителя дасть вамъ. да пребUдеть съ вами въ вэкы.	And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever,

дхъ истиньныи. ѥго же миръ не можеть прияти. яко не видить ѥго. ни знаѥть ѥго. вы же знаѥте ѥго. яко въ васъ пребываѥть. и въ васъ бUдеть.	even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he abideth with you, and shall be in you.

не оставлю васъ сиръ. придU къ вамъ.	I will not leave you desolate: I come unto you.
19	19
еще мало. и миръ ктомU не видить мене. вы же видите мене. яко азъ живU. и вы живи бUдете.	Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth me no more; but ye behold me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20	20
въ тъ дн7ь разUмэѥте и вы. яко азъ въ оц7и моѥмь. и вы въ мнэ. и азъ въ васъ.	In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

имэяи заповэди моя. и съблюдая я. тъ ѥсть любzи мz. и любzи мене. възлюблѥнъ бUдеть оц7мь моимь. и язъ възлюблю ѥго и явлюсz ѥмU самъ.	He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself unto him.

Гlа ѥмU июда искариотьскыи.^* Gи что бы яко намъ хочеши сz явити. а не мирU.	Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, and what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

tвэща iс7 и рече ѥмU. аще кто любить мене слово моѥ съблюдеть. и оц7ь мои възлюбить ѥго. и къ нѥмU приидевэ. и обитель U нѥго сътворивэ.	Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

не любzи мене словесъ моихъ не съблюдаѥть. и слово ѥже слышить. нэсть моѥ нъ пославъшааго мz отьця.	He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

си глаголахъ вамъ въ васъ сы.	These things have I spoken unto you, while yet abiding with you.

параклитъ же духъ свzтыи ѥгоже посълеть отьць въ имz моѥ тъ вы научить вьсему и въспомzнеть вамъ вься яже рекохъ вамь.	But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

миръ оставляѭ вамъ. миръ мои даѭ вамъ. не якоже весь мирь даѥть азъ даѭ вамъ. да не съмUщаѥтьсz ср7дце ваше ни Uстрашаѥть.	Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

слышасте яко азъ рэхъ вамъ. идU и придU къ вамъ. аще бысте любили мz въздрадовалисz Uбо бысте яко идU къ оц7ю. яко оц7ь болии мене ѥсть.	Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

и нынэ рэхъ вамъ прэже даже не бUдеть да ѥгда бUдеть. вэрU имэте. яко азъ рэхъ вамъ.	And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe.
30	30
Uже не мъного гlю съ вами. грzдеть бо сего мира кнzзь. и въ мънэ не имать ничсоже.	I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh: and he hath nothing in me;
31	31
нъ да разUмэѥть миръ. яко люблю оц7а. яко же заповэда мънэ оц7ь тако творю. въстанэте идэмъ tсUдU.	but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
Глава 15	Chapter 15

1	1
Азъ ѥсмь лоза истиньная. оц7ь мои дэлатель ѥсть. вьсzкѫ розгU о мънэ не творzщюю плода изьметь ю.	I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2	2
и вьсzкѫ творzщюю плодъ отрэбить ю. да плодъ болии сътворить.	Every branch in me that beareth not fruit, he taketh it away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he cleanseth it, that it may bear more fruit.
3	3
Uже вы чисти ѥсте за слово ѥже гlахъ вамъ.	Already ye are clean because of the word which I have spoken unto you.
4	4
бUдэте въ мънэ и язъ въ васъ. яко же бо розга не можеть плода творити о себэ. аще не бUдеть на лозэ тако и вы аще не прэбUдете въ мнэ.	Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me.

азъ есмь лоза а вы рождиѥ. иже бUдеть въ мънэ и язъ въ немь. сътворить плодъ мъногъ. яко без мене не можете творити ничсоже.	I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for apart from me ye can do nothing.

аще кто въ мънэ не прэбUдеть. извържетьсz вънъ. яко же розга исъшеть. и събираѥтьсz и въ огнь вълагають и съгараѥть.	If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

аще прэбUдете въ мънэ. и гlи мои въ васъ прэбUдUть. ѥмU же колижьдо хощете. просите и бUдеть вамъ.	If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask whatsoever ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8	8
о семь прослави сz отьць мои да плодъ мъногъ сътворите и бѫдете мои ученици.	Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples.
9	9
якоже възлюби мz отьць и азъ възлюбихъ вы бѫдете въ любъви моѥи.	Even as the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you: abide ye in my love.
10	10
аще заповэди моѩ съблюдете прэбѫдете въ любъви моѥи. якоже азъ заповэди отьца моѥго съблюдохъ и прэбываѭ въ нѥго любъви.	If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

си глаголахъ вамъ. да радость моя въ васъ бѫдеть и радость ваша напълнить сz.	These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy may abide in you, and that your joy may be made full.
12	12
си ѥсть заповэдь моя да любите другъ друга якоже възлюбихъ вы.	This is my commandment, that ye love one another, even as I have loved you.
13	13
большz сеѩ любъве ни къто же не имать да къто душѫ своѭ положить за другы своѩ.	Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14	14
вы друзи мои ѥсте аще творите ѥлико азъ заповэдаѭ вамъ.	Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15	15
уже не глаголѭ васъ рабъ. рабъ бо не вэсть чьто творить господь ѥго. вы же рекохъ другы яко вься яже слышахъ отъ отьца моѥго съказахъ вамъ.	No longer do I call you servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I heard from my Father I have made known unto you.

не вы мене избьрасте нъ азъ избьрахъ вы и положихъ вы да и вы идете и плодъ принесете и плодъ вашь прэбѫдеть. да ѥгоже колижьдо просите отъ отьца въ имz моѥ дасть вамъ.	Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

си заповэдаѭ вамъ да любите другъ друга.	These things I command you, that ye may love one another.
18	18
аще миръ васъ ненавидить вэдите яко мене прэжде васъ възненавидэ.	If the world hateth you, ye know that it hath hated me before it hated you.
19	19
аще отъ мира бысте были миръ убо своѥ любилъ бы. яко же отъ мира нэсте нъ азъ избьрахъ вы отъ мира сего ради ненавидить васъ миръ.	If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

помьните слово ѥже азъ рекохъ вамъ: нэсть рабъ болии господа своѥго. аще мене изгънашz и вы ижденѫть. аще слово моѥ съблюдошz и ваше съблюдѫть.	Remember the word that I said unto you, A servant is not greater than his lord. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also.

нъ си вься творzть вамъ за имz моѥ яко не вэдzть посълавъшааго мz.	But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22	22
аще не быхъ пришьлъ и глаголалъ имъ грэха не бышz имэли. нынэ же вины не имѫть о грэсэ своѥмь.	If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin.

ненавидzи мене и отьца моѥго ненавидить.	He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24	24
аще дэлъ не быхъ сътворилъ въ нихъ ихъже ни къто же инъ не сътвори грэха не бышz имэли. нынэ же и видэшz и възненавидэшz и мене и отьца моѥго.	If I had not done among them the works which none other hath done, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

нъ да събѫдеть сz слово писаноѥ въ законэ ихъ яко възненавидэшz мz без ума.	But this cometh to pass, that the word may be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26	26
ѥгда же придеть параклитъ ѥгоже азъ посълѭ вамъ отъ отьца духъ истиньныи иже отъ отьца исходить тъ съвэдэтельствуѥть о мънэ.	But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:

и вы же съвэдэтельствуѥте яко исъкони съ мьноѭ ѥсте.	and ye also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
Глава 16	Chapter 16

1	1
Си глаголахъ вамъ да не съблазнитесz.	These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be caused to stumble.
2	2
отъ съньмищь ижденѫть вы нъ приде врэмz. да вьсzкъ Uбивыи васъ. мьнитьсz слUжьбU приносити бв7и.	They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.

и си творzть вамъ. яко не познаша оц7а ни мене.	And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
4	4
нъ си гlахъ вамъ. да ѥгда придеть година. поминаите си. яко азъ рэхъ вамъ. сихъ же вамъ испьрва не рэхъ. яко съ вами бэхъ.	But these things have I spoken unto you, that when the hour is come, ye may remember them, how that I told you. And these things I said not unto you from the beginning, because I was with you.

нынэ же идU къ посълавъшемU мz. и никто же васъ не въпрашаѥть мене камо идеши.	But now I go unto him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

нъ яко си глаголаахь вамъ скърбь наплъни срьдьце ваше.	But because I have spoken these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
7	7
нъ азъ истинѫ глаголѭ вамъ: унѥ ѥсть вамъ да азъ идѫ. аще бо не идѫ азъ параклитъ не придетъ къ вамъ. аще ли же идU посълю и къ вамъ.	Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you.

и пришьдъ онъ. обличить мира. о грэсэ и о правьдэ и сUдэ.	And he, when he is come, will convict the world in respect of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

о грэсэ убо яко не вэрUють въ мz.	of sin, because they believe not on me;
10	10
о правьдэ же яко къ оц7ю грzдU. и ктомѫ не видите мене.	of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye behold me no more;
11	11
о сUдэ же яко кънzзь мира сего осUжденъ бысть.	of judgment, because the prince of this world hath been judged.
12	12
и ѥще мъного имамъ гlати. нъ не можете носити нынэ.	I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13	13
ѥгда же придеть онъ. д¦ъ истиньныи. и наставить вы на вьсzкU истинU. не о себэ бо глаголати имать. нъ елико аще услышить глаголати имать и грzдѫщая възвэстить вамъ.	Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.

онъ мz прославить яко отъ моѥго прииметь и възвэстить вамъ.	He shall glorify me: for he shall take of mine, and shall declare it unto you.
15	15
вьсz ѥлико имать оц7ь моя сUть. сего ради рэхъ яко t оц7а моѥго придеть. и възвэстить вамъ.	All things whatsoever the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he taketh of mine, and shall declare it unto you.
16	16
въ малэ и ктомU не видите мене. и пакы въ малэ и Uзьрите мz. яко идU къ оц7ю.	A little while, and ye behold me not; and again a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.
17	17
рэшz же t Uченикъ ѥго къ себэ. чьто се ѥсть ѥже гlеть намъ. въ малэ и не видите мене и пакы въ малэ и Uзьрите мz. яко идU къ оц7ю.	Some of his disciples therefore said one to another, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye behold me not; and again a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?

гlахU же чьто ѥсть се ѥже гlеть. въ малэ. не вэмь что гlеть.	They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? We know not what he saith.
19	19
разUмэ же iс7ъ яко хотzти и въпрашати. рече имъ о семь ли сътzзаѥтесz межю собою. яко же рэхъ вамъ въ малэ не видите мене. и пакы въ малэ и Uзьрите мz.	Jesus perceived therefore that they were desirous to ask him, and he said unto them, Do ye inquire among yourselves concerning this, that I said, A little while, and ye behold me not, and again a little while, and ye shall see me?

аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ яко въсплачетесz. и въздрыдаѥте вы. а миръ въздрадUѥтьсz. вы же печzльни бUдете. нъ печzль вашz въ радость бUдеть.	Verily, verily, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

жена ѥгда раждаѥть печzль имать. яко приде година ѥя. ѥгда же родить отрочz. ктомU не помьнить скьрби за радость. яко родисz чlвкъ въ вьсь миръ.	A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but when she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for the joy that a man is born into the world.

и вы Uбо нынэ печzль имэти имате. пакы же Uзьрю вы и въздрадUѥтьсz ср7дце ваше. и радости вашея никто же не възьметь t васъ.	And ye therefore now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one taketh away from you.

и въ тъ дьнь мене не въпросите ничсоже. аминъ аминъ гlю вамъ. аще чьсо просите t оц7а въ имz моѥ дасть вамъ.	And in that day ye shall ask me no question. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

доселэ не просисте ничсоже въ имz моѥ. просите и приимете. да радость вашz испълнена бUдеть.	Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be made full.
25	25
си въ притъчzхъ гlахъ вамъ. придеть же година. ѥгда въ притъчахъ ктомU не гlю вамъ. нъ не обинUясz о оц7и възвэщю вамъ.	These things have I spoken unto you in dark sayings: but the hour cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in dark sayings, but shall declare to you plainly of the Father.

въ тъ дн7ь въ имz моѥ въспросите и не гlю вамъ. яко азъ Uмолю оц7z о васъ.	In that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you;

самъ бо оц7ь любить вы. яко вы мене възлюбисте. и вэровасте яко t б7а изидохъ.	for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

изидохъ t оц7z и придохъ въ вьсь миръ. пакы wставлю вьсь миръ. и идU къ оц7ю.	I came out from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go unto the Father.

гlють ѥмU Uченици ѥго. се нынz съ дьрзновениѥмь гlеши. а притъчz ни ѥдиноя гlеши.	His disciples say unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no dark saying.

нынэ вэмь яко вэси вьсz. не трэбUѥши да кто тz въпрашаѥть. о семь вэрUѥмъ. яко t б7а ѥси ишьлъ.	Now know we that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

tвэща имъ iс7ъ. нынэ ли вэрUѥте.	Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?

се грzдеть година. и нынэ приде. да разидетьсz къжьдо въ своя си. и мене ѥдиного оставите. и нэсмь ѥдинъ. яко оц7ь съ мъною ѥсть.	Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

си гlахъ вамъ. да въ мънэ миръ имате. въ мирэ скръбьни бѫдете нъ дрьзаите азъ побэдихъ миръ.	These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Глава 17	Chapter 17

Възведъ iс7ъ очи свои на нб7о и рече. оч7е приде година. прослави сн7а своѥго. да и сн7ъ твои прославить тz.	These things spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

яко далъ ѥси ѥмU власть. вьсzкоя плъти. да вьсzко ѥже ѥси ѥмU далъ. дасть ѥмU живота вэчьнааго.	even as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that to all whom thou hast given him, he shall give eternal life.
3	3
се ѥсть животъ вэчьныи. да знають тебе ѥдиного истиньнааго б7а. ѥго же посъла iс7 х©а.	And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ.
4	4
азъ прославихъ. тz на земли. дэло съвьршихъ ѥже далъ ѥси мънэ да сътворю.	I have glorified thee on the earth: I have accomplished the work which thou hast given me to do.
5	5
и нынэ прослави мz оч7е U тебе самого. славою юже имэхъ. прэже даже не бысть миръ U тебе.	And now, Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
6	6
zвихъ имz твоѥ члв7комъ. яже далъ ѥси мънэ t мира. твои бэша и мънэ я далъ ѥси. и слово твоѥ съхранишz.	I manifested thy name unto the men whom thou hast given me out of the world: thine they were, and thou hast given them to me; and they have kept thy word.

нынэ разUмэшz яко вьсz яже далъ ѥси мънэ. t тебе сUть.	Now they know that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are from thee:
8	8
яко гlы яже далъ ѥси мънэ. дахъ имъ. и ти прияшz. и разѫмэшz въ истинU. t тебе изидохъ. и вэроваша яко ты ѥси посълалъ мz.	for the words which thou gavest me I have given unto them; and they received them, and knew of a truth that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send me.

язъ о сихъ молю не о мирэ молю. нъ о тэхъ яже далъ ѥси мънэ. яко твои сUть.	I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine:
10	10
моя всz твоя сUть и твоя моя. и прославихъсz въ нихъ.	and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them.
11	11
и ктомU нэсмь въ мирэ. и си въ мирэ сUть. и азъ къ тебе грzдU. оч7е с™ыи. съблюди я въ имz твоѥ. яже далъ ѥси мънэ. да бUдUть ѥдини яко же и мы.	And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

ѥгда бэхъ съ ними въ мирэ. азъ съблюдахъ я въ имz твоѥ. яже далъ ѥси мънэ. съхранихъ я. и никто же t нихъ. не погыбе тъкмо сн7ъ погыбэли. да събUдUтьсz книгы.	While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou hast given me I have guarded, and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

нынэ же къ тебэ грzдU. и си гlю въ мирэ. да имUть радость мою испълненU въ себэ.	But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in them.
14	14
азь дахъ имъ слово твоѥ. и миръ възненавидэ ѩ яко не сѫть отъ мира якоже и азъ отъ мира нэсмь.	I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15	15
не молѭ да възьмеши ѩ отъ мира нъ да съблюдеши ѩ отъ неприязни.	I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.
16	16
отъ мира не сѫть якоже и азъ отъ мира нэсмь.	They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17	17
свzти ѩ въ истинѫ твоѭ. слово твоѥ истина ѥсть.	Sanctify them in thy truth: thy word is truth.
18	18
яко же ты мz о§е посъла въ миръ. и язъ посълахъ я въ миръ.	As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.
19	19
и за нz азъ сщ7юсz самъ. да бUдUть и ти сщ7ени въ истинU.	And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
20	20
не о сихъ же молю тъкмо. нъ и о вэрѫющиихъ. словесемъ моимъ въ мz.	Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;
21	21
да вьси ѥдино сUть. яко же ты о§е въ мънэ. и язъ въ тебэ. да и ти въ насъ ѥдино бUдUть. да и вьсь миръ вэрUѥть. яко ты мz посъла.	that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

и язъ славU юже дасть ми дахъ имъ да бUдUть ѥдино. яко же и мы ѥдино.	And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;

азъ въ нихъ и ти въ мнэ. да бUдUть съвьршени въ ѥдино. и да разUмэѥть миръ. яко ты мz посъла. и възлюбилъ мz ѥси. яко же мz възлюбилъ ѥси.	I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; and that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

о§е яже далъ ѥси мънэ и хощю да идеже ѥсмь азъ да и ти бUдUть съ мъною. да видzть славU мою. юже далъ ѥси мънэ. яко възлюбилъ мz ѥси. прэже съложения мира.	Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou gavest me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

о§е правьдьныи миръ тебе не позна. азъ же тz познахъ. и си познаша яко ты мz посъла.	O righteous Father, the world knew thee not, but I knew thee; and these knew that thou didst send me;
26	26
и съказахъ имъ имz твоѥ и съкажю. да любы ѥю же мz ѥси възлюбилъ. въ нихъ бUдеть. и язъ въ нихъ.	and I made known unto them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou lovedst me may be in them, and I in them.
Глава 18	Chapter 18

Си рекъ изиде исусъ съ ученикы своими на онъ полъ потока кедрьска идеже бэ врьтьпъ въ ньже въниде самъ и ученици ѥго.	When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden, into which he entered, himself and his disciples.

вэдэаше же иуда иже и прэдаяаше мэсто яко мъногашьди събирааше сz исусъ ту съ ученикы своими.	Now Judas also, who betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.

иуда же приимъ спирѫ и отъ архиереи и фарисеи слугы приде тамо съ свэтильникы и съ свэщами и орѫжии.	Judas then, having received the band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.

исусъ же вэды вьсе идѫщеѥ на нь ишьдь рече имъ: кого ищете;	Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?

отъвэща исусъ: рекохъ вамъ яко азъ ѥсмь. аще убо мене ищете не дэите сихъ ити.	Jesus answered, I told you that I am he; if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:

да събѫдеть сz слово ѥже рече яко ѩже далъ ѥси мънэ не погубихъ ни кого же отъ нихъ.	that the word might be fulfilled which he spake, Of those whom thou hast given me I lost not one.

симонъ же петръ имэѩ ножь извлэче и и удари архиереова раба и урэза ѥму ухо десноѥ. бэ же имz рабу малхъ.	Simon Peter therefore having a sword drew it, and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. Now the servant’s name was Malchus.

рече же исусъ петрови: въньзи ножь въ ножьницѫ. чzшѫ ѭже дасть мънэ отьць не имамъ ли пити ѥѩ;	Jesus therefore said unto Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath: the cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?

спира же и тысzщьникъ и слугы иудеискы ѩшz исуса и съвzзашz и	So the band and the chief captain, and the officers of the Jews, seized Jesus and bound him,

и ведошz и къ аннэ прьвэѥ бэ бо тьсть каиафэ иже бэ архиереи лэту тому.	and led him away to Annas first; for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was high priest that year.

бэ же каиафа давыи съвэтъ иудеомъ яко унѥ ѥсть ѥдиному чловэку умрэти за люди.	Now Caiaphas was he that gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should perish for the people.

по исусэ же идэаше симонъ петръ и другыи ученикъ. ученикъ же тъ бэ знаѥмъ архиереови и въниде съ исусомъ въ дворъ архиереовъ.	And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did the other disciple. Now that disciple was known unto the high priest, and entered in with Jesus into the court of the high priest;

петръ же стояаше. предъ двьрьхь вънэ. изиде же Uченикъ тъ. иже бэ знаѥмъ архиереови. и ре? двьрници. и въведе петра.	but Peter was standing at the door without. So the other disciple, who was known unto the high priest, went out and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

гlа же раба. двьрница петрови. еда и ты t Uченикъ ѥси. чlвка сего. гlа онъ нэсмь.	The maid therefore that kept the door saith unto Peter, Art thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.

стояхU же раби. и слUгы огнь створьше. яко зима бэ и грэяхU сz. бэ же съ ними петръ стоя и грэясz.	Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals; for it was cold; and they were warming themselves: and Peter was with them, standing and warming himself.

архиереи же въпросиша iс7а. о Uченицэхъ ѥго. и о Uчении ѥго.	The high priest therefore asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his teaching.

tвэща ѥмU iс7. азъ не обинUясz гlхъ мірU. азъ всегда Uчихъ. на съньмищи и въ цр7кви. идеже вси жидове събираютьсz. и отаи не гlахъ нічто же.	Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in a synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always come together; and in secret spake I nothing.

что мене въпрашаѥши. въпрашаи слышавъшиихъ. что гlахъ имъ. се си вэдzть. яже рекохъ азъ.	Why askest thou me? ask them that have heard me, what I spake unto them: behold, these know the things which I said.

се же рекъшю ѥмU. единъ t престоящиихъ слUгъ. Uдари въ ланитU iс7а. рекъ. тако ли tвэщаваѥши. архиереови.	And when he had said this, one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

tвэща ѥмU iс7. аще злэ гlахъ. послUшьствUи о злэ. аще ли добрэ. почто мя биѥши.	Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?

посла же а=на съвzзана. къ каиафэ архиереови.	Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.

бэ же симонъ петръ. стоя и грэясz. рекоша же ѥмU еда и ты t Uченикъ ѥго ѥго ѥси. онъ же tвьржесz и рече. иэсмь.	Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He therefore denied, and said, I am not.

гlа одинъ t рабъ архиереовъ. Uжика сы. ѥмU же петръ Uрэза. Uхо. не азъ ли тz видэхъ. въ оградэ съ нимь.	One of the servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?

пакы же петръ tвьржесz. и абиѥ кUръ възгласи.	Peter therefore denied again: and straightaway the cock crowed.

ведоша же iс7а t каиафы въ преторъ. бzше же заUтра. и ти не вънидоша въ преторъ. да не осквьрнzтьсz. нъ да ядzть пасхU.	They lead Jesus therefore from Caiaphas into the Praetorium: and it was early; and they themselves entered not into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but that they might eat the passover.

изиде же пилатъ къ нимь. вънъ. и рече. кUю рэчь приносите. на чловэка сего.	Pilate therefore went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?

tвэщаша и рэша ѥмU. аще не бы былъ сь злодэи. и не быхомъ предали ѥго тобэ.	They answered and said unto him, If this man were not an evildoer, we should not have delivered him up unto thee.

рече же имъ пилатъ. поимэте ѥго вы. и по законU вашемU сUдите ѥмU. рекоша же ѥмU жидове. намъ не достоить Uбити. никоgо же.	Pilate therefore said unto them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

да слово iс7во събUдетьсz. ѥже рече. знаменая. коѥю съмьртью хотzаше Uмрети.	that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should die.

въниде же пакы въ преторъ. и прiзва iс7а и рече ѥмU. ты ли ѥси цrь июдеискъ.	Pilate therefore entered into the Praetorium again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

tвэща ѥмU iс7. о собэ ли се ты гlѥши. или ини тобэ рекоша о мнэ.	Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this of thyself, or did others tell it thee concerning me?

tвэща ѥмU пилатъ. еда азъ жидовинъ ѥсмь. родъ твои архиереи предаша тz мнэ. что ѥси сътворилъ.	Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

tвэща iс7. цр7ство моѥ нэсть t мира сего. аще t сего мира было бы. цр7ство моѥ. слUгы моя подвизалисz быша. да не преданъ быхъ июдеомъ. нынэ же цр7ство моѥ. нэc tсюдэ.	Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

рече же ѥмU пилатъ. да цrь ли ты ѥси. tвэща iс7. ты гlѥши. яко цrь ѥсмь азъ. азъ на се родихъсz. и на се придохъ въ миръ. да съвэдэтельствUю о истинэ. всzкъ. иже ѥсть t истины. послUшаѥть глаc моѥго.	Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end have I been born, and to this end am I come into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Everyone that is of the truth heareth my voice.

гlа ѥмU пилатъ. что ѥсть истина. и се рекъ. пакы изиде къ жидомъ. и гlа имъ. азъ ни ѥдиноя вины обрэтаю въ нѥмь.	Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find no crime in him.

ѥсть же обычаи вамъ. да ѥдиного вамъ. tпUщю. на пасхU. хочете ли Uбо да tпUщю вамъ. цrя июдеиска.	But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

възъпиша же вси гlюще. не сего нъ варавU. бэ же варава разбоиникъ.	They all cried out therefore again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
Глава 19	Chapter 19

Тъгда пилатъ поя iс7а. и би ѥго.	Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

и воини съплетъше вэньць. t тьрния. възложиша на главU ѥмU. и въ ризU багърzнU. облекоша и.	And the soldiers plaited a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and arrayed him in a purple garment,

и прихожахU къ нѥмU и гlаахU. радUисz цrю иUдеискъ. и бияхU по ланитама.	and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they struck him with their hands.
4	4
изиде же пакы пилатъ вънъ. и гlа имъ. се извожю ѥго вамъ вънъ. да разUмэете. яко до нэго вины не обрэтаю.	Pilate therefore went out again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find no crime in him.

изиде же iс7 вънъ. носz тьрновьныи вэньць. и въ багърzнUю ризU. и гlа имъ. се члbвкъ.	Jesus therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple garment. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold, the man!

ѥгда же видэша ѥго. архиереи и слUгы. възпиша гlюще. распьни распьни ѥго. гlа имъ пилатъ. поимэте ѥго вы и распьнэте. азъ бо не обрэтаю до нѥго вины.	When therefore the chief priests and the officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify, crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Take him yourselves, and crucify him: for I find no crime in him.

tвэщаша ѥмU жидове. мы законъ имамъ. и по законU нашемU. достоинъ ѥсть Uмрети. яко сн7ъ б9ии творить сz.	The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

ѥгда же слыша пилатъ слово се. паче Uбоясz.	When Pilate therefore heard this saying, he was the more afraid;

и въниде въ преторъ пакы и гlа исUсови tкUдU ѥси ты. iс7 же tвэта не сътвори ѥмU.	and he entered into the Praetorium again, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

гlа ѥмU пилатъ. мнэ ли не гlѥши. не вэси ли. яко власть имэю распzти тz. и власть имэю пUсти тz.	Pilate therefore saith unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

tвэща iс7. не имаши власти на мнэ никоѥя же. аще не бы ти дано съвыше. сего ради предавыи мя тобэ. болии грэхъ имать.	Jesus answered, Thou wouldest have no power against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivereth me unto thee hath greater sin.

tтолэ искааше пилатъ пUстити ѥго. жидове въпияхU гlюще. аще сего пUстиши. неси дрUгъ кесаревъ. вьсzкъ. иже самъ цrz себе творить. противитьсz кесарю.	Upon this Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou release this man, thou art not Caesar’s friend: everyone that maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

пилатъ же слышавъ се слово. изведе вънъ iс7а. и сэде на сUдищи. на мэстэ нарицаѥмэмь. лиfострато. евреискы же гаваfа.	When Pilate therefore heard this word, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.

бэ же пzтъкъ пасхы. часъ бэ яко шестыи. и гlа июдеомъ. се цrь вашь.	Now it was the Preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour. And he saith unto the Jews, Behold, your King!

оні же възъпиша. възьми възми. распьни ѥго. гlа имъ пилатъ. цrz ли вашего распьнU. tвэщаша архиереи. не имамъ цrя нъ тъкмо кесарz.	But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him! Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

тъгда предасть ѥго имъ. да ѥго распьнUть. они же поимъше и. ведоша и въ преторъ.	Then therefore he delivered him unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

и самъ си носz крьстъ. изиде въ нарицаемое краниѥво мэсто. еже гlетьсz евреискы голъгоfа.	And he went out, bearing his cross, unto a place called The place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Golgotha:

идеже и распzша. и сь нимь. в7. разбоиника. одиного. о деснUю. а дрUгаго. о лэвUю. посредэ же iс7а.	where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

написа же и тилU пилатъ. и положи на крьстэ. бэ же написано. I© назарzнинъ. цrь июдеискъ.	And Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. And there was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

сего же титьла. мнози чтоша t июдеи. яко близь бэ мэсто града. идеже распzша iс7а. и бэ написаное евреискы. гречьскы и латиньскы.	This title therefore read many of the Jews, for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city; and it was written in Hebrew, and in Greek, and in Latin.

глаголаахѫ же пилатови архиереи иудеисции: не пиши царь иудеискъ нъ яко самъ рече царь ѥсмь иудеискъ.	The chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but, that he said, I am King of the Jews.

отъвэща пилатъ: ѥже писахъ писахъ.	Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

воини ѥгда распzша I©а. възzша ризы ѥго. и сътвориша четыри части. комU же воинU часть. и котыгU. бэ же котыга. нешьвена. t выниихъ. истъкана по вьсемU.	The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also the coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

рекоша къ собэ не предьрэмъ ѥго. нъ метимъ жребия о нѥмь. комU бUдеть. да събUдетьсz писаниѥ. гlющеѥ. раздэлиша ризы моя собэ. и о вьрхънюю ризU мою. меташа жребия. воини же си твориша. Въ оно вреұ.	They said therefore one to another, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my garments among them, And upon my vesture did they cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

I© же видэвъ. м™рь и Uченка стояща. ѥго же люблzше. гlа м™ри жено. се сн7ъ твои.	When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold, thy son!

по томь же гlа UченикU. се м™и твоя. и t того часа поятъ ю Uченикъ въ своя си.	Then saith he to the disciple, Behold, thy mother! And from that hour the disciple took her unto his own home.

по семь видэ I©. яко вьсz Uже съвьршишасz. да събUдетьсz писаниѥ. гlа жадU.	After this Jesus, seeing that all things are now finished, that the scripture might be accomplished, saith, I thirst.

съсUдъ же стояше пълнъ оцьта. они же гUбU напълнивъше оцта. на тръстъ възньзъше. принесоша къ Uстомъ ѥго.	Now there was set there a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and brought it to his mouth.

и ѥгда же Uбо възz оцьтъ I©. рече съвьршисz. и преклонь главU. преда д¦ъ.	When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

жидове же понѥже пzтъкъ бэ. да не останUть на крьстэ тэлеса въ сUботU. бэ бо великъ дн7ь тоя сUботы. молиша пилата. да пребиють голэни ихъ. и възьмUть я.	The Jews therefore, that the bodies should not remain on the cross upon the sabbath, because it was the Preparation (for the day of that sabbath was a high day), asked of Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

придоша же Uбо воини. и пьрвUмU пребиша голэни. и дрUгUUмU распzтUUмU съ нимь.	The soldiers therefore came, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other that was crucified with him:

къ Ісо7µ же пришьдъше. яко видэша ѥго Uмьрша. не пребиша ѥмU голэнию.	but when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

нъ ѥдинъ t воинъ. копиѥмь ребра ѥго прободе. и изиде абиѥ кръвь и вода.	howbeit one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and straightaway there came out blood and water.

и видэвыи. съвэдэтельствова. и истиньно ѥсть съвэдэтельство ѥго. и тъ вэсть яко истинU гlѥть. да и вы вэрU имете.	And he that hath seen hath borne witness, and his witness is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye may believe.

быша бо си. да писаниѥ съвьршитьсz. кость не съкрUшітьсz t него.	For these things came to pass, that the scripture might be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

и пакы дрUгоѥ писаниѥ гlть. възьрzть на нь ѥго же прободоша.	And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Въ оно времz. молисz пилатU иосифъ. иже бэ t аримаfиа. Uченикъ сы I©въ. потаенъ же за страхъ иUдеискъ. да възьметь тэло I©во. и повелэ пилатъ. приде же Uбо и възzтъ тэло I©во.	After these things Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked of Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took away the body of Jesus.

приде же и никодимъ. пришьдыи къ I©ви нощию преже. несы съмэшеньѥ. змvрьно и алоино. яко литръ сто.	And there came also Nicodemus, he who at the first came to Jesus by night, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.

възzста же тэло I©во. и обиста ѥ понявами. съ въ вонями. яко же обычаи ѥсть иUдеомъ. погрэбати.	So they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

бэ же на мэстэ. идеже ѥго распzша. оградъ. и въ оградэ гробъ новъ. въ нѥмь же николи же. никто же не положенъ бэ.	Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new tomb wherein was never man yet laid.

тU Uбо. пzтъка дэлz иUдеиска. яко близь бzше гробъ. положиста I©а.	There then because of the Jews’ Preparation (for the tomb was nigh at hand) they laid Jesus.
Глава 20	Chapter 20

Въ ѥдинU сUботъ. мариа магдалыни. прииде заUтра еще сUщи тьмэ на гробъ. и видэ камень възzтъ t гроба.	Now on the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet dark, unto the tomb, and seeth the stone taken away from the tomb.

тече же и прииде къ симонU петрU. и къ дрUгUUмU UченикU ѥго же люблzаше iс7ъ. и гlа има възzша Gа t гроба. и не вэмь къде и положиша.	She runneth therefore, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid him.

изиде же петръ. и дрUгыи Uченикъ идэасте къ гробу.	Peter therefore went forth, and the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb.

течаасте же оба въкупэ и другыи ученикъ тече скорэѥ петра. и прииде прэже къ гробU.	And they ran both together: and the other disciple outran Peter, and came first to the tomb;

и приникъ видэ ризы ѥдины лежаща. обаче нъ не въниде.	and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths lying; yet entered he not in.

приде же еc симонъ петръ въ слэдъ ѥГо и въниде прежде въ гробъ. и видэ ризы еg ѥдины лежащz.	Simon Peter therefore cometh, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he beholdeth the linen cloths lying,

и UбрUсъ иже бэ на главэ ѥго. не съ ризами лежащь. нъ особь съвитъ на ѥдиномь мэстэ.	and the napkin, that was upon his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

тъгда въниде и дрUгыи Uченикъ. пришедыи прежде къ гробU и видэ и вэрова.	Then entered in therefore the other disciple also, who came first to the tomb, and he saw, and believed.

не Uбо вэдzахU кънигы. zко подобаѥть ѥмU t мьртвыихъ въскрьснUти.	For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

идоста же гlюще къ себэ Uченика.	So the disciples went away again unto their own home.

Мария же стояаше у гроба вънэ плачѫщи сz. якоже плакааше сz приниче въ гробъ	But Mary was standing at the tomb weeping without: so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb;

и видэ дъва ангела въ бэлахъ сэдzща ѥдиного у главы и ѥдиного у ногу идеже бэ лежало тэло исусово.	and she beholdeth two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

и глаголасте ѥи она: жено чьто плачеши сz; глагола има: яко възzшz господа моѥго и не вэмь къде положишz и.	And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

и си рекъши обрати сz вьспzть и видэ исуса стоѩща и не вэдэаше яко исусъ ѥсть.	And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and beholdeth Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

глагола ѥи исусъ: жено чьто плачеши сz; кого ищеши; она же мьнzщи яко врьтоградарь ѥсть глагола ѥму: господи аще ты и ѥси възzлъ повэждь мънэ къде и ѥси положилъ. и азъ вьзьмѫ и.	Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou hast borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

глагола ѥи исусъ: мариѥ. обращьши же сz она глагола ѥму: раввуни ѥже нарицаѥть сz учителю.	Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turneth herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Teacher.

глагола ѥи исусъ: не прикасаи сz мънэ. не у бо възидохъ къ отьцу моѥму. иди же къ братии моѥи и рьци имъ въсхождѫ къ отьцу моѥму и отьцу вашему и богу моѥму и богу вашѥму.	Jesus saith to her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto my Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.

приде мария магдалыни повэдаѭщи ученикомъ яко видэ господа и си рече ѥи.	Mary Magdalene cometh and telleth the disciples that she had seen the Lord; and that he had said these things unto her.
19	19
Сѫщу же поздэ въ тъ дьнь въ ѥдиныи сѫботы и двьрьмъ затворенамъ идеже бэахѫ ученици ѥго събьрани за страхъ иудеискъ. приде исусъ и ста по срэдэ ихъ и глагола имъ: миръ вамъ.	When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

и си рекъ показа имъ рѫцэ и ребра своя. въздрадовашz же сz ученици видэвъше господа.	And when he had said this, he showed unto them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad, when they saw the Lord.
21	21
рече имъ исусъ пакы: миръ вамъ. якоже посъла мz отьць и азъ посылаѭ вы.	Jesus therefore said to them again, Peace be unto you: as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22	22
и се рекъ дунѫ и глагола имъ: приимэте духъ свzтыи.	And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit:

имъже отьпустите грэхы отъпустzть сz имъ и имъже дрьжите дрьжzть сz имъ.	whose soever sins ye forgive, they are forgiven unto them; whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24	24
fома же ѥдинъ отъ обою на десzте нарицаѥмыи близньць не бэ ту съ ними ѥгда приде исусъ.	But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25	25
глаголаахѫ же ѥму друзии ученици: видэхомъ господа. онъ же рече имъ: аще не виждѫ на рѫку ѥго язвы гвоздиныѩ и въложѫ прьста моѥго въ язвѫ гвоздинѫѭ и въложѫ рѫкы моѥѩ въ ребра ѥго не имѫ вэры.	The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

и по осми дьнъ пакы бэахѫ вънѫтрь ученици ѥго и fома съ ними. приде исусъ двьрьмъ затворенамъ и ста по срэдэ и глагола имъ: миръ вамъ.	And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.

потомь глагола fомэ: принеси прьстъ твои сэмо и виждь рѫцэ мои. и принеси рѫкѫ твоѭ и въложи въ ребра моя. и не бѫди невэрьнъ нъ вэрьнъ.	Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and see my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and put it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

и отъвэща fома и рече ѥму: господь мои и богъ мои.	And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29	29
глагола ѥму исусъ яко видэвъ мz вэрова. блажени не видэвъшеи и вэровавъше.	Jesus saith unto him, Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

мънога же и ина знамения сътвори исусъ прэдь ученикы своими яже не сѫть писана въ кънигахъ сихъ.	Many other signs therefore did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

си же писана бышz да вэрѫ имете яко исусъ ѥсть христосъ сынъ божии. и да вэруѭще живота вэчьнааго имате въ имz ѥго.	but these are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye may have life in his name.
Глава 21	Chapter 21

1	1
По семь яви сz пакы исусъ Uченикомъ своимъ въставъ отъ мрьтвыихъ на мори тивериадьстэемь. яви же сz тако.	After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and he manifested himself on this wise.
2	2
бэахѫ въкUпэ симонъ петръ и fома нарицаѥмыи близньць и наfанаилъ иже бэ отъ кана галилеискыѩ и сына зеведеова и ина отъ Uченикъ ѥго дъва.	There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

глагола имъ симонъ петръ: идѫ рыбъ ловитъ. глаголашz ѥмU: идемъ и мы съ тобоѭ. и изидошz и въсэдошz въ корабль абиѥ. и въ тѫ нощь не ѩшz ни чьсо же.	Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also come with thee. They went forth, and entered into the boat immediately; and that night they took nothing.

UтрU же абиѥ бывъшU ста исусъ при брэзэ. не познашz же Uчеиици яко исусъ ѥсть.	But when morning was now come, Jesus stood on the beach: yet the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

глагола же имъ исусъ: дэти еда чьто сънэдьно имате; отъвэщашz ѥмU: ни.	Jesus therefore saith unto them, Children, have ye aught to eat? They answered him, No.
6	6
онъ же рече имъ: въврьзэте о деснѫѭ странѫ корабля мрэжѫ и обрzщете. въврьгошz же и кътомU не можаахѫ привлэщи ѥѩ отъ мъножьства рыбъ.	And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fish.

глагола же ученикъ ѥгоже любляаше исусъ петрови: господь ѥсть. симонъ же петръ слышавъ zко Gь ѥсть. срачицею препоzсасz. бэ бо нагъ. и въвьржесz въ море.	That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his coat about him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea.

а дрUзии Uченици кораблицемь приидоша. не бэша бо далече t землz. нъ zко двэ сътэ лакътъ влекUще мрэжю рыбъ.	But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits off), dragging the net full of fish.
9	9
zко же излэзоша на землю. видэша огнь лежащь. и рыбU на нѥмь лежащю. и хлэбъ.	So when they gat out upon the land, they see a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
10	10
гlа имъ iс7ъ. принесэте t рыбъ zже zсте нынэ.	Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now taken.
11	11
и вълэзъ же симонъ петръ. извлече мрэжю на землю пълну великыихъ рыбъ. съто. пzть десzтъ. и три. и толикU сUщю не протържесz мрэжz.	Simon Peter went up, and drew the net up on the land, full of great fish, a hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, the net was not rent.

гlа имъ iс7ъ. придэте обэдUите. и никто же t Uченикъ ѥго. не съмzаше въпрашати ѥго. ты къто ѥси вэдUще zко Gь ѥсть.	Jesus saith unto them, Come and break your fast. And none of the disciples durst inquire of him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

приде же iс7ъ и приzтъ хлэбъ. и дасть имъ. и рыбU такожде.	Jesus therefore cometh, and taketh the bread, and giveth them, and the fish likewise.
14	14
се Uже третиѥѥ zвисz iс7ъ Uченикомъ своимъ. въставъ t мьртвыихъ.	This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
15	15
гlа симонU петрU. симоне ионинъ любиши ли мz паче сихъ. и гlа ѥмU ѥи Gи. ты вэси яко люблю тz. гlа ѥмU паси агньца моя.	So when they had broken their fast, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

гlа ѥмU пакы въторицею. симоне ионинъ любиши ли мz. гlа ѥмU еи Gи ты вэси яко люблю тz. гlа ѥмU паси овьцz моя.	He saith to him again a second time, Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Tend my sheep.
17	17
гlа ѥмѫ третиицею. симоне ионинъ любиши ли мz. съжzли же си петръ яко рече ѥмU третиѥѥ любиши ли мz. гlа ѥмU Gи вьсе ты вэси ты съвэси яко люблю тz. гlа ѥмU паси овьца моя.	He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

аминъ аминъ гlю тебэ. ѥгда бэ Uнъ поясаашесz. и хождааше идеже хотzаше. ѥгда же състарэѥшисz въздежеши рUцэ твои. инъ тz пояшеть и ведеть ямо же не хощеши.	Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
19	19
се же рече клеплz. коѥю съмьртию прославить б7а. и се рекъ гlа емU иди по мънэ.	Now this he spake, signifying by what manner of death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.
20	20
обращь же сz петръ видэ Uченика. ѥго же люблzше iс7ъ идUща въ слэдъ. иже и възлеже на вечери на пьрси ѥго. и рече Gи къто ѥсть прэдаяи тz.	But Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned back on his breast at the supper, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?

сего видэвъ петръ гlа iс7U Gи а сь что.	Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?
22	22
гlа ѥмU iс7ъ. аще хочю да тъ прэбываѥть донъдеже придU чьто ѥ тебэ. ты по мънэ грzди.	Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
23	23
изиде же слово то въ братию. яко Uченикъ тъ не Uмьреть. не рече же ѥмѫ I©ъ яко не Uмьреть. нъ аще хощю да тъ прэбываѥть. донъдеже придU чьто ѥ тебе.	This saying therefore went forth among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, that he should not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
24	24
сь ѥсть Uченикъ съвэдэтельствUяи о сихъ. иже и написа си. и вэмь яко истиньно ѥсть съвэдэтельство ѥго.	This is the disciple that beareth witness of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his witness is true.
25	25
сUть же ина мънога яже сътвори iс7ъ. яже аще по ѥдиномU писана бывають. ни самомU мьнµ вьсемU мирU. въмэстити пишемыихъ сихъ книгъ амiнъ.	And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
