(Зач. 1) В нача́лі бі Сло́во, і Сло́во бі к Бо́гу [у Бо́га], і Бог бі Сло́во.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
|

|
Сей бі іскони́ к Бо́гу [у Бо́га];
|
The same was in the beginning with God.
|
|

|
|
вся тім би́ша, і без Него́ нічто́же бисть, є́же бисть.
|
All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.
|
|

|

|
|
В том живо́т бі, і живо́т бі світ челові́ком;
|
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
|
|

|

|
|
і світ во тьмі сві́титься, і тьма єго́ не об'я́т.
|
And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not.
|
|

|
|
Бисть челові́к по́слан от Бо́га, і́м'я єму́ Іоа́нн;
|
There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
|
|
|

|
|
сей при́йде во свиді́тельство, да свиді́тельствуєть о Сві́ті, да всі ві́ру і́муть єму́ [да всі уві́рують чрез него́].
|
The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.
|
|

|
|
Не бі той світ, но да свиді́тельствуєть о Сві́ті;
|
He was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light.
|
|

|

|
|
бі Світ і́стинний, І́же просвіща́єть вся́каго челові́ка гряду́щаго в мир;
|
There was the true light, even the light which lighteth every man, coming into the world.
|
|

|

|
|
в ми́рі бі, і мир Тім бисть, і мир Єго́ не позна́;
|
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.
|
|

|

|
|
во своя́ при́йде, і свої́ Єго́ не прия́ша.
|
He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.
|
|

|
|
Єли́ці же прия́ша Єго́, даде́ їм о́бласть ча́дом Бо́жиїм би́ти, ві́рующим во і́м'я Єго́,
|
But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name:
|

|
|
і́же не от кро́ві, ні от по́хоті плотськи́я, ні от по́хоті му́жеськия, но от Бо́га роди́шася.
|
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
|
|

|
|
І Сло́во плоть бисть і всели́ся в ни, і ви́діхом сла́ву Єго́, сла́ву, я́ко Єдиноро́днаго от Отця́, іспо́лнь благода́ті і і́стини.
|
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld his glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father), full of grace and truth.
|

|
Іоа́нн свиді́тельствуєть о Нем і воззва́ глаго́ла: Сей бі, Єго́же ріх, І́же по мні Гряди́й, пре́до мно́ю бисть, я́ко пе́рвіє мене́ бі.
|
John beareth witness of him, and crieth, saying, This was he of whom I said, He that cometh after me is become before me: for he was before me.
|

|
І от ісполне́нія Єго́ ми всі прия́хом і благода́ть воз благода́ть;
|
And of his fullness we all received, and grace for grace.
|

|
|
я́ко зако́н Моїсе́йом дан бисть, благода́ть (же) і і́стина Ісу́с Христо́м бисть.
|
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
|
|

|
|
(Зач. 2) Бо́га нікто́же ви́ді нігді́же; Єдиноро́дний Син, сий в ло́ні О́тчі, Той іспові́да.
|
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
|
|

|
|
І сіє́ єсть свиді́тельство Іоа́нново, єгда́ посла́ша Жи́дове от Ієрусали́ма ієре́єв і леви́тов, да вопро́сять єго́: ти кто єси́?
|
And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
|

|
І іспові́да, і не отве́ржеся, і іспові́да, я́ко нісьм аз Христо́с.
|
And he confessed, and denied not; and he confessed, I am not the Christ.
|
|

|
|
І вопроси́ша єго́: что у́бо? Ілія́ ли єси́ ти? І глаго́ла: нісьм. Проро́къ ли єси́? І отвіща́: ні.
|
And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he saith, I am not. Art thou the prophet? And he answered, No.
|

Рі́ша же єму́: кто єси́? Да отві́т да́ми посла́вшим ни: что глаго́леши о тебі́ самі́м?
|
They said therefore unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
|

|
Рече́: аз глас вопію́щаго в пусти́ні: іспра́віте путь Госпо́день, я́коже рече́ Іса́я проро́к.
|
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.
|

|
|
І по́сланнії бі́ху от фарисе́й;
|
And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
|
|
25
|

|
|
і вопроси́ша єго́ і рі́ша єму́: что у́бо креща́єши, а́ще ти ні́си Христо́с, ні Ілія́, ні проро́к?
|
And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?
|

|
Отвіща́ їм Іоа́нн, глаго́ля: аз креща́ю водо́ю; посреді́ же вас стої́ть, Єго́же ви не ві́сте;
|
John answered them, saying, I baptize in water: but in the midst of you standeth one whom ye know not,
|

|
|
Той єсть Гряди́й по мні, І́же пре́до мно́ю бисть, Єму́же нісьм аз досто́їн, да отрішу́ реме́нь сапогу́ Єго́.
|
he it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, the latchet of whose shoe I am not worthy to unloose.
|

|
Сія́ в Вифава́рі би́ша об он пол Іорда́на, іді́же бі Іоа́нн крестя́.
|
These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
|

|
|
(Зач. 3) Во у́трій (же) ви́ді Іоа́нн Ісу́са гряду́ща к себі́ і глаго́ла: се, А́гнець Бо́жий, взе́мляй гріхи́ ми́ра;
|
On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world!
|

|
Сей єсть, о Не́мже аз ріх: по мні гряде́ть Муж, І́же пре́до мно́ю бисть, я́ко пе́рвіє мене́ бі;
|
This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man who is preferred before me: for he was before me.
|

|
|
і аз не ві́дех Єго́; но да яви́ться Ізра́їлеві, сего́ ра́ди прийдо́х аз водо́ю крестя́.
|
And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water.
|

|
|
І свиді́телствова Іоа́нн, глаго́ля, я́ко ви́діх Ду́ха сходя́ща, я́ко го́луб'я с небесе́, і преби́сть на Нем;
|
And John bare witness, saying, I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of heaven; and it abode upon him.
|

|
і аз не ві́діх Єго́; но Посла́вий м'я крести́ти водо́ю, Той мні рече́: над Него́же у́зриши Ду́ха сходя́ща і пребива́юща на Нем, Той єсть крестя́й Ду́хом Святи́м;
|
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize in water, he said unto me, Upon whomsoever thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and abiding upon him, the same is he that baptizeth in the Holy Spirit.

|
і аз ви́діх і свиді́тельствовах, я́ко Сей єсть Син Бо́жий.
|
And I have seen, and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.
|

|
(Зач. 4) Во у́трій (же) па́ки стоя́ше Іоа́нн, і от учени́к єго́ два.
|
Again on the morrow John was standing, and two of his disciples;

|
|
І, узрі́в Ісу́са гряду́ща, глаго́ла: се А́гнець Бо́жий.
|
and he looked upon Jesus as he walked, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God!
|

|
|
І сли́шаста єго́ о́ба ученика́ глаго́лющаго, і по Ісу́сі ідо́ста.
|
And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
|

|
|
Обра́щся же Ісу́с і ви́дів я по Себі́ іду́ща, глаго́ла ї́ма: чесо́ і́щета? О́на же рі́ста Єму́: Равві́, є́же глаго́леться сказа́ємо Учи́телю, гді живе́ши?
|
And Jesus turned, and beheld them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? And they said unto him, Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Teacher), where abidest thou?

|
(І) глаго́ла ї́ма: прийді́та і ви́діта. Прийдо́ста і ви́діста, гді жив'я́ше, і у Него́ преби́ста день той. Бі же час деся́тий.
|
He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he abode; and they abode with him that day: it was about the tenth hour.

Бі (же) Андре́й, брат Си́мона Петра́, єди́н от обою́ сли́шавшею от Іоа́нна і по Нем ше́дшею.
|
One of the two that heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
|

|
Обрі́те сей пре́жде бра́та своєго́ Си́мона і глаго́ла єму́: обріто́хом Мессі́ю, є́же єсть сказа́ємо Христо́с.
|
He findeth first his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messiah (which is, being interpreted, Christ).
|

|
І приведе́ єго́ ко Ісу́сові. Воззрі́в же нань Ісу́с рече́: ти єси́ Си́мон, син Іо́нин; ти нарече́шися Ки́фа, є́же сказа́ється Петр.
|
And he brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of Jonah: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

|
(Зач. 5) Во у́трій (же) восхоті́ ізи́ти в Галиле́ю; і обрі́те Фили́ппа і глаго́ла єму́: гряди́ по Мні.
|
On the morrow he was minded to go forth into Galilee, and he findeth Philip: and Jesus saith unto him, Follow me.

|
Бі (же) Фили́пп от Вифсаї́ди, от гра́да Андре́йова і Петро́ва.
|
Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
|

|
Обрі́те Фили́пп Нафана́їла і глаго́ла єму́: Єго́же писа́ Моїсе́й в зако́ні і проро́ци, обріто́хом Ісу́са, си́на Іо́сифова, і́же от Назаре́та.
|
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

|
І глаго́ла єму́ Нафана́їл: от Назаре́та мо́жеть ли что добро́ би́ти? Глаго́ла єму́ Фили́пп: прийди́ і виждь.
|
And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
|

|
Ви́ді (же) Ісу́с Нафана́їла гряду́ща к Себі́ і глаго́ла о нем: се, воі́стину Ізра́їльтянин, в не́мже льсти ність.
|
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
|

|
Глаго́ла Єму́ Нафана́їл: ка́ко м'я зна́єши? Отвіща́ Ісу́с і рече́ єму́: пре́жде да́же не возгласи́ тебе́ Фили́пп, су́ща тя под смоко́вницею ви́діх тя.
|
Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
|

|
Отвіща́ Нафана́їл і глаго́ла Єму́: Равві́, Ти єси́ Син Бо́жий, ти єси́ Цар Ізра́їлев.
|
Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
|

|
Отвіща́ Ісу́с і рече́ єму́: зане́ ріх ті, я́ко ви́діх тя под смоко́вницею, ві́руєши; бо́льша сих у́зриши.
|
Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee underneath the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
|

|
І глаго́ла єму́: амі́нь, амі́нь глаго́лю вам, отсе́лі у́зрите не́бо отве́рсто і а́нгели Бо́жія восходя́щия і низходя́щия над Си́на Челові́чеськаго.
|
And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see the heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
