2: | Then said Holofernes unto her, Woman, be of good comfort, fear not in thine heart: for I never hurt any that was willing to serve Nabuchodonosor, the king of all the earth. |

| и3 нн7э лю1діе твои2 живyщіи въ г0рней, ѓще бы не ўничт0жили мS, не воздви1глъ бhхъ копіS моегw2 на ни1хъ, но nни2 сaми себЁ сотвори1ша сі‰: | Now therefore, if thy people that dwelleth in the mountains had not set light by me, I would not have lifted up my spear against them: but they have done these things to themselves. |

3
| и3 нн7э глаг0ли ми2, чесw2 рaди tшлA є3си2 t ни1хъ и3 пришлA є3си2 къ нaмъ; прих0диши бо ко спасeнію: дерзaй, въ н0щь сію2 живA бyдеши, и3 въ пр0чее: | But now tell me wherefore thou art fled from them, and art come unto us: for thou art come for safeguard; be of good comfort, thou shalt live this night, and hereafter: |
4
4
| for none shall hurt thee, but entreat thee well, as they do the servants of king Nabuchodonosor my lord. |

2: | Then Judith said unto him, Receive the words of thy servant, and suffer thine handmaid to speak in thy presence, and I will declare no lie to my lord this night. |
6
6
| и3 ѓще и4маши послёдовати словесeмъ рабhни твоеS, совершeнно дёло сотвори1тъ съ тоб0ю бGъ, и3 не tпадeтъ господи1нъ м0и t начинaній свои1хъ: | And if thou wilt follow the words of thine handmaid, God will bring the thing perfectly to pass by thee; and my lord shall not fail of his purposes. |
7
7
| жівeтъ бо цaрь навуходон0соръ всеS земли2, и3 живeтъ держaва є3гw2, и4же послa тz во и3справлeніе всsкіz души2, ћкw не т0кмw человёцы тебє2 рaди послyжатъ є3мY, но и3 ѕвёріе п0льніи и3 ск0ти и3 пти6цы небє1сныz крёпостію твоeю жи1ви бyдутъ њ навуходон0сорэ и3 всeмъ д0мэ є3гw2: | As Nabuchodonosor king of all the earth liveth, and as his power liveth, who hath sent thee for the upholding of every living thing: for not only men shall serve him by thee, but also the beasts of the field, and the cattle, and the fowls of the air, shall live by thy power under Nabuchodonosor and all his house. |
8
8
| слhшахомъ бо премyдрость твою2 и3 хи1трwсти души2 твоеS, и3 возвэсти1сz всeй земли2, ћкw ты2 є3ди1нъ блaгъ во всeмъ цaрствэ и3 си1ленъ въ рaзумэ и3 чyденъ во њполчeніихъ брaни: | For we have heard of thy wisdom and thy policies, and it is reported in all the earth, that thou only art excellent in all the kingdom, and mighty in knowledge, and wonderful in feats of war. |
9
9
1: | Now as concerning the matter, which Achior did speak in thy council, we have heard his words; for the men of Bethulia saved him, and he declared unto them all that he had spoken unto thee. |

10
| сегw2 рaди, владhко господи1не, да не преступaеши словесE є3гw2, но положи2 є3го2 въ твоeмъ сeрдцы, ћкw и4стинно є4сть: не бо2 tмщaетсz р0дъ нaшъ, не превозмогaетъ мeчь на ни1хъ, ѓще не согрэшaтъ къ бGу своемY: | Therefore, O lord and governor, reject not his word; but lay it up in thine heart, for it is true: for our nation shall not be punished, neither can the sword prevail against them, except they sin against their God. |
11
11
| и3 нн7э да не бyдетъ господи1нъ м0й tвeрженъ и3 недэйстви1теленъ, и3 нападeтъ смeрть на лицE и4хъ, и3 пости1гнетъ и5хъ согрэшeніе, и4мже раздражaтъ бGа своего2, когдa либо ѓще сотворsтъ безмёстіе: | And now, that my lord be not defeated and frustrate of his purpose, even death is now fallen upon them, and their sin hath overtaken them, wherewith they will provoke their God to anger, whensoever they shall do that which is not fit to be done: |
12
12
| понeже бо њскудёша и5мъ бр†шна, и3 ўмaлисz всS водA, восхотёша ўстреми1тисz на скоты2 сво‰, и3 вс‰, є3ли6ка њпредэли2 и5мъ бGъ въ зак0нэхъ свои1хъ не ћсти, ўмысли1ша ўпотреблsти: | for their victuals fail them, and all their water is scant, and they have determined to lay hands upon their cattle, and purposed to consume all those things, that God hath forbidden them to eat by his laws: |
13
13

| и3 начaтки пшени1цы, и3 десzти6ны віиA и3 є3лeа, ±же соблюдaху њсвzти1вше їереHмъ предстоsщымъ во їеrли1мэ пред8 лицeмъ бGа нaшегw, суди1ша и3ждивaти, и5мже нижE рукaми подобaше прикасaтисz комY t людjй: | and are resolved to spend the firstfruits of the corn, and the tenths of wine and oil, which they had sanctified, and reserved for the priests that serve in Jerusalem before the face of our God; the which things it is not lawful for any of the people so much as to touch with their hands. |
14
14
| и3 послaша во їеrли1мъ, ћкw и3 тaмw живyщіи сотвори1ша сі‰, да принесyтъ и5мъ разрэшeніе t старёйшинъ: | For they have sent some to Jerusalem, because they also that dwell there have done the like, to bring them a licence from the senate. |
15
15
| и3 бyдетъ, є3гдA возвэсти1тсz и5мъ, и3 сотворsтъ, дадYтсz тебЁ въ погублeніе въ дeнь т0й: | Now when they shall bring them word, they will forthwith do it, and they shall be given thee to be destroyed the same day. |
16
16
| тёмже ѓзъ рабA твоS, познaвши сі‰ вс‰, tбэг0хъ t лицA и4хъ: и3 послA мS бGъ твори1ти съ тоб0ю дэлA, њ ни1хже ўжaснетсz всS землS, є3ли6цы ѓще ўслhшатъ сі‰, | Wherefore I thine handmaid, knowing all this, am fled from their presence; and God hath sent me to work things with thee, whereat all the earth shall be astonished, and whosoever shall hear it. |
17
17
| занE рабA твоS благочести1ва є4сть и3 служaщи н0щію и3 днeмъ бGу нб7сE: и3 нн7э пребyду ў тебє2, господи1не м0й, и3 да и3сх0дитъ рабA твоS въ нощи2 въ дeбрь и3 м0литсz къ бGу: и3 возвэсти1тъ ми2, є3гдA сотворsтъ согрэшє1ніz сво‰: | For thy servant is religious, and serveth the God of heaven day and night: now therefore, my lord, I will remain with thee, and thy servant will go out by night into the valley, and I will pray unto God, and he will tell me when they have committed their sins: |
18
18
| и3 пришeдши возвэщY тебЁ, и3 и3зhдеши со всeю си1лою твоeю, и3 нёсть, и4же воспроти1витсz тебЁ t ни1хъ: | and I will come and shew it unto thee: then thou shalt go forth with all thine army, and there shall be none of them that shall resist thee. |
19
19
| и3 поведy тz сквозЁ їудею, д0идеже пріити2 прsмw їеrли1ма, и3 положY сэдaлище твоE посредЁ є3гw2, и3 поженeши и5хъ ѓки џвцы, и5мже нёсть пaстырz, и3 не возск0млетъ пeсъ љзhкомъ свои1мъ проти1ву тебє2: занE мнЁ сі‰ речє1на сyть по предвёдэнію моемY и3 возвэщє1иа ми2, и3 посланA є4смь возвэсти1ти тебЁ. | And I will lead thee through the midst of Judea, until thou come before Jerusalem; and I will set thy throne in the midst thereof; and thou shalt drive them as sheep that have no shepherd, and a dog shall not so much as open his mouth at thee: for these things were told me according to my foreknowledge, and they were declared unto me, and I am sent to tell thee. |

| И# ўгHдна бhша словесA є3S пред8 nлофeрномъ и3 пред8 всёми слуги6 є3гw2, и3 диви1шасz њ премyдрости є3S и3 рёша: | Then her words pleased Holofernes and all his servants; and they marvelled at her wisdom, and said, |

21
| нёсть таковhz жены2 t концA дaже до концA земли2 въ красотЁ лицA и3 въ рaзумэ словeсъ. | There is not such a woman from one end of the earth to the other, both for beauty of face, and wisdom of words. |
22
22
| И# речE къ нeй nлофeрнъ: блaго сотвори2 бGъ послaвый тS пред8 людьми2, є4же бhти въ рукaхъ нaшихъ держaвэ, на ўничижи1вшихъ же господи1на моего2 поги1бели: | Likewise Holofernes said unto her, God hath done well to send thee before the people, that strength might be in our hands, and destruction upon them that lightly regard my lord. |
23
23
2. | And now thou art both beautiful in thy countenance, and witty in thy words: surely if thou do as thou hast spoken, thy God shall be my God, and thou shalt dwell in the house of king Nabuchodonosor, and shalt be renowned through the whole earth. |
