| Возлюби1те прaвду, судsщіи зeмлю: мyдрствуйте њ гDэ въ благостhни и3 въ простотЁ сeрдца взыщи1те є3го2: | Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of the Lord with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek him. |

| ћкw њбрэтaетсz не и3скушaющымъ є3го2, kвлsетсz же не невёрующымъ є3мY. | For he will be found of them that tempt him not; and sheweth himself unto such as do not distrust him. |
|

|
| Стропти6ваz бо помышлє1ніz tлучaютъ t бGа: и3скушaемаz си1ла њбличaетъ безyмныхъ. | For froward thoughts separate from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise. |
|

|

|
| Ћкw въ ѕлохуд0жну дyшу не вни1детъ премyдрость, нижE њбитaетъ въ тэлеси2 пови1ннэмъ грэхY: | For into a malicious soul wisdom shall not enter: nor dwell in the body that is subject unto sin. |
|

|
| с™hй бо д¦ъ наказaніz tбэжи1тъ льсти1ва и3 tи1метсz t помышлeній неразyмныхъ и3 њбличи1тсz t находsщіz непрaвды. | For the holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in. |

| Человэколюби1въ бо дyхъ премyдрости и3 не њбезвини1тъ хyльника t ўстeнъ є3гw2: ћкw внyтреннихъ є3гw2 свидётель є4сть бGъ и3 сeрдца є3гw2 и3спытaтель и4стиненъ и3 љзhка слhшатель: | For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue. |

| ћкw д¦ъ гDень и3сп0лни вселeнную, и3 содержaй вс‰ рaзумъ и4мать глaса. | For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world: and that which containeth all things hath knowledge of the voice. |
|

|
| Сегw2 рaди вэщazй непрaвєднаz никт0же ўтаи1тсz, и3 не ми1мw и4детъ є3гw2 њбличaющь сyдъ. | Therefore he that speaketh unrighteous things cannot be hidden: neither shall vengeance, when it punisheth, pass by him. |

| Въ совётэхъ бо нечести1вагw и3стzзaніе бyдетъ, словeсъ же є3гw2 слhшаніе ко гDу пріи1детъ во њбличeніе беззак0ній є3гw2: | For inquisition shall be made into the counsels of the ungodly: and the sound of his words shall come unto the Lord for the manifestation of his wicked deeds. |

| ћкw ќхо рвeніz слhшитъ вс‰, и3 молвA роптaній не крhетсz. | For the ear of jealousy heareth all things: and the noise of murmurings is not hid. |
|

|
| Храни1тесz u5бо t роптaніz неполeзна и3 t њболгaніz щади1те љзhкъ: ћкw вэщaніе тaйное тщE не прeйдетъ, ўстA же лж{щаz ўбивaютъ дyшу. | Therefore beware of murmuring, which is unprofitable; and refrain your tongue from backbiting: for there is no word so secret, that shall go for nought: and the mouth that belieth slayeth the soul. |

| Не вожделёйте смeрти въ заблуждeніи животA вaшегw, нижE привлекaйте поги1бели дэлaми рyкъ вaшихъ: | Seek not death in the error of your life: and pull not upon yourselves destruction with the works of your hands. |
|

| ћкw бGъ смeрти не сотвори2, ни весели1тсz њ поги1бели живhхъ. | For God made not death: neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living. |
|

|
| Создa бо во є4же бhти всBмъ, и3 спаси1тєлны быті‰ мjра, ни бо2 є4сть въ ни1хъ врачевaніz губи1телнагw, нижE ѓду цaрствіz на земли2. | For he created all things, that they might have their being: and the generations of the world were healthful; and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor the kingdom of death upon the earth: |

| Прaвда бо безсмeртна є4сть: (непрaвда же смeрти снабдёніе:) | (for righteousness is immortal:) |

|
| нечести1віи же рукaма и3 словесы2 призвaша ю5, други1ню вмэни1ша ю5 и3 и3стazша, и3 завётъ положи1ша съ нeю, ћкw дост0йни сyть џноz чaсти бhти. | but ungodly men with their works and words called it to them: for when they thought to have it their friend, they consumed to nought, and made a covenant with it, because they are worthy to take part with it. |

| Рек0ша бо въ себЁ помышлsющіи непрaвw: мaлъ є4сть и3 печaленъ жив0тъ нaшъ, и3 нёсть и3зцэлeніz въ кончи1нэ человёчестэ, и3 нёсть познaнъ возврати1выйсz t ѓда. | For the ungodly said, reasoning with themselves, but not aright, Our life is short and tedious, and in the death of a man there is no remedy: neither was there any man known to have returned from the grave. |

| Ћкw самослучaйнw рождeни є3смы2, и3 по сeмъ бyдемъ ћкоже не бhвше: понeже дhмъ дыхaніе въ н0здрехъ нaшихъ, и3 сл0во и4скра въ движeніи сeрдца нaшегw: | For we are born at all adventure: and we shall be hereafter as though we had never been: for the breath in our nostrils is as smoke, and a little spark in the moving of our heart: |

| є4йже ўгaсшей пeпелъ бyдетъ тёло, и3 дyхъ нaшъ разліeтсz ћкw мsгкій воздyхъ, | which being extinguished, our body shall be turned to ashes, and our spirit shall vanish as the soft air, |

| и3 и4мz нaше забвeно бyдетъ во врeмz, и3 никт0же воспомzнeтъ дёлъ нaшихъ: и3 прeйдетъ жив0тъ нaшъ ћкw слэды2 w4блака, и3 ћкw мглA разруши1тсz, разгнaнаz t л{чь с0лнечныхъ и3 теплот0ю є3гw2 њтzгчи1вшисz. | and our name shall be forgotten in time, and no man shall have our works in remembrance, and our life shall pass away as the trace of a cloud, and shall be dispersed as a mist, that is driven away with the beams of the sun, and overcome with the heat thereof. |

| Стёни бо прех0дъ житіE нaше, и3 нёсть возвращeніz кончи1ны нaшеz: ћкw запечaтана є4сть, и3 никто2 возвращaетсz. | For our time is a very shadow that passeth away; and after our end there is no returning: for it is fast sealed, so that no man cometh again. |

| Пріиди1те u5бо и3 наслади1мсz настоsщихъ благи1хъ, и3 ўпотреби1мъ создaніz, ћкw въ ю4ности ск0рw: | Come on therefore, let us enjoy the good things that are present: and let us speedily use the creatures like as in youth. |
|

|
| вінA дражaйшагw и3 мЂра (благов0нна) и3сп0лнимсz, и3 да не прeйдетъ нaсъ цвётъ житіS: | Let us fill ourselves with costly wine and ointments: and let no flower of the spring pass by us. |
|

|
| ўвэнчaимъ нaсъ ши1пковыми цвёты, прeжде нeже ўвsнутъ: | Let us crown ourselves with rosebuds, before they be withered: |
|

|
9
|
| ни є3ди1нъ t нaсъ лишeнъ да бyдетъ нaшегw наслаждeніz, вездЁ њстaвимъ знaменіе весeліz, ћкw сіS чaсть нaша и3 жрeбій сeй. | let none of us go without his part of our voluptuousness: let us leave tokens of our joyfulness in every place: for this is our portion, and our lot is this. |

| Наси1ліе сотвори1мъ ўб0гу првdному, не пощади1мъ вдови1цы, нижE стaрца ўстыди1мсz сэди1нъ многолётныхъ. | Let us oppress the poor righteous man, let us not spare the widow, nor reverence the ancient grey hairs of the aged. |
|

| Да бyдетъ же нaмъ крёпость зак0нъ прaвды: некрёпкое бо неполeзно њбрэтaетсz. | Let our strength be the law of justice: for that which is feeble is found to be nothing worth. |
|

|
| Ўлови1мъ же (лeстію) првdнаго, ћкw непотрeбенъ нaмъ є4сть и3 проти1витсz дэлHмъ нaшымъ, и3 пон0ситъ нaмъ грэхи2 зак0на и3 ѕлослaвитъ нaмъ грэхи2 ўчeніz нaшегw: | Therefore let us lie in wait for the righteous; because he is not for our turn, and he is clean contrary to our doings: he upbraideth us with our offending the law, and objecteth to our infamy the transgressings of our education. |

| возвэщaетъ нaмъ рaзумъ и3мёти б9ій, и3 џтрока гDнz себE и3менyетъ: | He professeth to have the knowledge of God: and he calleth himself the child of the Lord. |
|

|
| бhсть нaмъ на њбличeніе помышлeній нaшихъ: | He was made to reprove our thoughts. |
|
15
|
15
|
| тsжекъ є4сть нaмъ и3 къ видёнію, ћкw непод0бно (є4сть) и3ны6мъ житіE є3гw2, и3 tмBнны (сyть) стєзи2 є3гw2: | He is grievous unto us even to behold: for his life is not like other men's, his ways are of another fashion. |

| въ поругaніе вмэни1хомсz є3мY, и3 ўдалsетесz t путjй нaшихъ ћкw t нечист0тъ: блажи1тъ послBднzz првdныхъ и3 слaвитсz nц7A и3мёти (себЁ) бGа. | We are esteemed of him as counterfeits: he abstaineth from our ways as from filthiness: he pronounceth the end of the just to be blessed, and maketh his boast that God is his father. |

| Ўви1димъ, ѓще словесA є3гw2 и4стинна, и3 и3скyсимъ ±же сбyдутсz є3мY. | Let us see if his words be true: and let us prove what shall happen in the end of him. |
|

|
| Ѓще бо є4сть и4стинный сhнъ б9ій, защи1титъ є3го2 и3 и3збaвитъ є3го2 t руки2 проти1вzщихсz. | For if the just man be the son of God, he will help him, and deliver him from the hand of his enemies. |
|

|

|
| Досаждeніемъ и3 мyкою и3стsжимъ є3го2, да ўвёмы кр0тость є3гw2 и3 и3скyсимъ безѕл0бство є3гw2: | Let us examine him with despitefulness and torture, that we may know his meekness, and prove his patience. |
|
20
|
20
|
| смeртію пон0сною њсyдимъ є3го2, бyдетъ бо є3мY разсмотрeніе t словeсъ є3гw2. | Let us condemn him with a shameful death: for by his own saying he shall be respected. |
|

|

|
| Сі‰ помhслиша и3 прельсти1шасz: њслэпи1 бо и5хъ ѕл0ба и4хъ, | Such things they did imagine, and were deceived: for their own wickedness hath blinded them. |
|
22
|
22
|
| и3 не ўвёдэша т†инъ б9іихъ, нижE мзды2 ўповaша препод0біz, нижE присуди1ша чeсти душaмъ непорHчнымъ. | As for the mysteries of God, they knew them not: neither hoped they for the wages of righteousness, nor discerned a reward for blameless souls. |

| Ћкw бGъ создA человёка въ неистлёніе и3 во w4бразъ под0біz своегw2 сотвори2 є3го2: | For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity. |
|

|
| зaвистію же діaволею смeрть вни1де въ мjръ: вкушaютъ же ю5, и5же t є3S чaсти сyть. | Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world: and they that are of his side do find it. |

Chapter 3
|

1
|
| Првdныхъ не дyши въ руцЁ б9іей, и3 не прик0снетсz и4хъ мyка. | But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no torment touch them. |
|
2
|
2
|
| Непщевaни бhша во џчію безyмныхъ ўмрeти, и3 вмэни1сz њѕлоблeніе и3сх0дъ и4хъ, | In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery, |
|
3
|
3
|
| и3 є4же t нaсъ шeствіе сокрушeніе: nни1 же сyть въ ми1рэ. | and their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace. |
|
4
|
4
|
| И$бо пред8 лицeмъ человёческимъ ѓще и3 мyку пріи1мутъ, ўповaніе и4хъ безсмeртіz и3сп0лнено: | For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality. |
|
5
|
5
|
| и3 вмaлэ накaзани бhвше, вели1кими благодётелствовани бyдутъ, ћкw бGъ и3скуси2 и5хъ и3 њбрёте и5хъ достHйны себЁ: | And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself. |
|

|
| ћкw злaто въ горни1лэ и3скуси2 и5хъ, и3 ћкw всепл0діе жeртвенное пріsтъ |. | As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering. |
|

|
7
|
| И# во врeмz посэщeніz и4хъ возсіsютъ, и3 ћкw и4скры по стeблію потекyтъ: | And in the time of their visitation they shall shine, and run to and fro like sparks among the stubble. |
|
8
|
8
|
| сyдzтъ kзhкwмъ и3 њбладaютъ людьми2, и3 воцRи1тсz въ ни1хъ гDь во вёки. | They shall judge the nations, and have dominion over the people, and their Lord shall reign for ever. |
|
9
|
9
|
| Надёющіисz нaнь ўразумёютъ и4стину, и3 вёрніи въ любви2 пребyдутъ є3мY, ћкw блгdть и3 млcть въ прпdбныхъ є3гw2 и3 посэщeніе во и3збрaнныхъ є3гw2. | They that put their trust in him shall understand the truth: and such as be faithful in love shall abide with him: for grace and mercy is to his saints, and he hath care for his elect. |

| Нечести1віи же, ћкw помhслиша, пріи1мутъ запрещeніе, и5же неради1вшіи њ првdнэмъ и3 t гDа tступи1вше. | But the ungodly shall be punished according to their own imaginations, which have neglected the righteous, and forsaken the Lord. |
|

|
| Премyдрость бо и3 наказaніе ўничижazй њкаsненъ, и3 прaздно ўповaніе и4хъ, и3 труды2 безплHдны, и3 неключи6ма дэлA и4хъ: | For whoso despiseth wisdom and nurture, he is miserable, and their hope is vain, their labours unfruitful, and their works unprofitable: |

| жєны2 и4хъ без{мны и3 лук†ва ч†да и4хъ, пр0клzто рождeніе и4хъ. | their wives are foolish, and their children wicked: |

|

|
| Ћкw блажeна є4сть непл0ды неwсквернeнаz, ћже не познA л0жа во грэсЁ, и3мёти бyдетъ пл0дъ въ посэщeніи дyшъ: | Their offspring is cursed. Wherefore blessed is the barren that is undefiled, which hath not known the sinful bed: she shall have fruit in the visitation of souls. |

| и3 є3vнyхъ, и4же не содёла въ рукY (своє1ю) беззак0ніz, нижE помhсли на гDа лук†ваz, дaстсz бо є3мY вёры благодaть и3збрaнна и3 жрeбій во хрaмэ гDни ўг0днэйшій. | And blessed is the eunuch, which with his hands hath wrought no iniquity, nor imagined wicked things against God: for unto him shall be given the special gift of faith, and an inheritance in the temple of the Lord more acceptable to his mind. |

| Благи1хъ бо трудHвъ пл0дъ благослaвенъ, и3 не tпaдающь к0рень рaзума. | For glorious is the fruit of good labours: and the root of wisdom shall never fall away. |
|

|
| Ч†да же прелюбодёєвъ несовершє1на бyдутъ, и3 t законопрестyпнагw л0жа сёмz и3зчeзнетъ: | As for the children of adulterers, they shall not come to their perfection, and the seed of an unrighteous bed shall be rooted out. |
|

|
17
|
| ѓще бо долгожив0тни бyдутъ, ни во чт0же вмэнsтсz, и3 безчeстна на послёдокъ стaрость и4хъ: | For though they live long, yet shall they be nothing regarded: and their last age shall be without honour. |
|
18
|
18
|
| ѓще же ск0рw скончaютсz, не бyдутъ и3мёти ўповaніz, нижE въ дeнь судA ўтэшeніz: | Or, if they die quickly, they have no hope, neither comfort in the day of trial. |
|
19
|
19
|
| р0да бо непрaведнагw лю6таz њконч†ніz. | For horrible is the end of the unrighteous generation. |

Chapter 4
|

|
| Лyчше безчaдство со добродётелію: безсмeртіе бо є4сть въ пaмzти є3S, ћкw и3 пред8 бGомъ познaетсz и3 пред8 человBки: | Better it is to have no children, and to have virtue: for the memorial thereof is immortal: because it is known with God, and with men. |
|

| присyщую бо подражaютъ ю5 и3 желaютъ tшeдшіz, и3 въ вёцэ вэнцен0снw чти1тсz несквeрныхъ п0двигwвъ брaнь њдолёвши. | When it is present, men take example at it; and when it is gone, they desire it: it weareth a crown, and triumpheth for ever, having gotten the victory, striving for undefiled rewards. |

|
| Многопл0дно же нечести1выхъ мн0жество неключи1мо бyдетъ, и3 прелюбодBйнаz насаждє1ніz не дадyтъ корeніz въ глубинY, нижE крёпко стоsніе сотворsтъ: | But the multiplying brood of the ungodly shall not thrive, nor take deep rooting from bastard slips, nor lay any fast foundation. |

|
| ѓще бо и3 вBтви на врeмz процвэтyтъ, не крёпкw возшeдше t вётра поколeблютсz и3 t ѕёлныхъ вётрwвъ и3скоренsтсz: | For though they flourish in branches for a time; yet standing not fast, they shall be shaken with the wind, and through the force of winds they shall be rooted out. |

|
| сокрушaтсz вBтви несовершє1нны, и3 пл0дъ и4хъ неключи1мь, њск0менъ въ снёдь, и3 ни во что2 потрeбенъ. | The imperfect branches shall be broken off, their fruit unprofitable, not ripe to eat, yea, meet for nothing. |
|

| T беззак0нныхъ бо снHвъ ч†да раждaємаz свидётеліе сyть лукaвствіz на роди1тєли во и3спытaніи и4хъ. | For children begotten of unlawful beds are witnesses of wickedness against their parents in their trial. |
|

|
| Првdникъ же ѓще пости1гнетъ скончaтисz, въ пок0и бyдетъ: | But though the righteous be prevented with death, yet shall he be in rest. |
|

|
8
|
| стaрость бо честнA не многолётна, нижE въ числЁ лётъ и3зчитaетсz: | For honourable age is not that which standeth in length of time, nor that is measured by number of years. |
|
9
|
9
|
| сэди1на же є4сть мyдрость человёкwмъ, и3 в0зрастъ стaрости житіE несквeрно. | But wisdom is the grey hair unto men, and an unspotted life is old age. |
|

|
| Бlгоуг0денъ бGови бhвъ, возлю1бленъ бhсть, и3 живhй посредЁ грёшныхъ престaвленъ бhсть: | He pleased God, and was beloved of him: so that living among sinners he was translated. |
|

|
| восхищeнъ бhсть, да не ѕл0ба и3змэни1тъ рaзумъ є3гw2, и3ли2 лeсть прельсти1тъ дyшу є3гw2. | Yea, speedily was he taken away, lest that wickedness should alter his understanding, or deceit beguile his soul. |
|

|
| Рачeніе бо ѕл0бы помрачaетъ дHбраz, и3 парeніе п0хоти премэнsетъ ќмъ неѕл0бивъ. | For the bewitching of naughtiness doth obscure things that are honest; and the wandering of concupiscence doth undermine the simple mind. |
|

|
| Скончaвсz вмaлэ и3сп0лни лBта дHлга: | He, being made perfect in a short time, fulfilled a long time: |

|
14
|
| ўг0дна бо бЁ гDеви душA є3гw2, сегw2 рaди потщaсz t среды2 лукaвствіz: | for his soul pleased the Lord: therefore hasted he to take him away from among the wicked. |
|
15
|
15
|
| лю1діе же ви1дэвше и3 не разумёвше, нижE пол0жше въ помышлeніи таков0е, ћкw блгdть и3 млcть въ прпdбныхъ є3гw2 и3 посэщeніе во и3збрaнныхъ є3гw2. | This the people saw, and understood not, neither laid they up this in their minds, That his grace and mercy is with his saints, and that he hath respect unto his chosen. |

|
| Њсyдитъ же првdникъ ўмирazй живhхъ нечести1выхъ, и3 ю4ность скончaвшаzсz ск0рw долголётную стaрость непрaведнагw. | Thus the righteous that is dead shall condemn the ungodly which are living; and youth that is soon perfected the many years and old age of the unrighteous. |

| Ќзрzтъ бо кончи1ну премyдрагw и3 не ўразумёютъ, что2 ўсовётова њ нeмъ и3 во что2 ўтверди2 є3го2 гDь: | For they shall see the end of the wise, and shall not understand what God in his counsel hath decreed of him, and to what end the Lord hath set him in safety. |

| ќзрzтъ и3 ўничижaтъ є3го2, гDь же посмэeтсz и5мъ: | They shall see him, and despise him; but God shall laugh them to scorn; and they shall hereafter be a vile carcase, and a reproach among the dead for evermore. |
|

|
| и3 бyдутъ посeмъ въ падeніе безчeстно и3 во ўкори1зну въ мeртвыхъ въ вёкъ: ћкw раст0ргнетъ и5хъ безгл†сны ни1цъ и3 поколeблетъ и5хъ t њсновaній, и3 дaже до послёднихъ њпустёютъ и3 бyдутъ въ болёзни, и3 пaмzть и5хъ поги1бнетъ: | For he shall rend them, and cast them down headlong, that they shall be speechless; and he shall shake them from the foundation; and they shall be utterly laid waste, and be in sorrow; and their memorial shall perish. |

| пріи1дутъ въ помышлeніе грэхHвъ свои1хъ боzзли1віи, и3 њбличaтъ и5хъ проти1ву беззакHніz и4хъ. | And when they cast up the account of their sins, they shall come with fear: and their own iniquities shall convince them to their face. |

| ТогдA стaнетъ во дерзновeніи мн0зэ првdникъ пред8 лицeмъ њскорби1вшихъ є3го2 и3 tметaющихъ труды2 є3гw2: | Then shall the righteous man stand in great boldness before the face of such as have afflicted him, and made no account of his labours. |

| ви1дzщіи смzтyтсz стрaхомъ тsжкимъ и3 ўжaснутсz њ преслaвнэмъ спасeніи є3гw2, | When they see it, they shall be troubled with terrible fear, and shall be amazed at the strangeness of his salvation, so far beyond all that they looked for. |
|

| и3 рекyтъ въ себЁ кaющесz и3 въ тэснотЁ дyха воздыхaюще: сeй бЁ, є3г0же и3мёхомъ нёкогда въ посмёхъ и3 въ при1тчу поношeніz. | And they repenting and groaning for anguish of spirit shall say within themselves, This was he, whom we had sometimes in derision, and a proverb of reproach: |

| Стрaшнw и3 ск0рw kви1тсz вaмъ: ћкw сyдъ жесточaйшій преимyщымъ бывaетъ, | horribly and speedily shall he come upon you: for a sharp judgment shall be to them that be in high places. |

| и4бо мaлый дост0инъ є4сть ми1лости, си1льніи же си1льнэ и3стsзани бyдутъ. | For mercy will soon pardon the meanest: but mighty men shall be mightily tormented. |

| Не щади1тъ бо лицA всёхъ вLка, нижE ўсрами1тсz вельм0жи, ћкw мaла и3 вели1ка сeй сотвори2, под0бнэ же проразумэвaетъ њ всёхъ: | For he which is Lord over all shall fear no man's person, neither shall he stand in awe of any man's greatness: for he hath made the small and great, and careth for all alike. |

| держ†внымъ же крёпко настои1тъ и3спытaніе. | But a sore trial shall come upon the mighty. |

| Возжелёйте u5бо словeсъ мои1хъ, возлюби1те и3 накажи1тесz. | Wherefore set your affection upon my words; desire them, and ye shall be instructed. |

| Начaло бо є3S и4стиннэйшее наказaніz возжелёніе, | For the very true beginning of her is the desire of discipline; and the care of discipline is love; |

| Нелeстнэ научи1хсz, без8 зaвисти преподаю2 и3 богaтства є3S не сокрывaю: | I learned diligently, and do communicate her liberally: I do not hide her riches. |

| СеS рaди пріимY безсмeртіе и3 пaмzть вёчную сyщымъ по мнЁ њстaвлю: | Moreover by the means of her I shall obtain immortality, and leave behind me an everlasting memorial to them that come after me. |

| ўпрaвлю лю1ди, и3 kзhцы покорsтсz ми2: | I shall set the people in order, and the nations shall be subject unto me. |

| ўбоsтсz менє2 слhшавшіи мучи1теліе стрaшніи: во мн0жествэ kвлю1сz блaгъ и3 въ брaни крёпокъ. | Horrible tyrants shall be afraid when they do but hear of me; I shall be found good among the multitude, and valiant in war. |

| дaждь мнЁ твои6мъ пrт0лwмъ присэдsщую премdрость и3 не tри1ни менE t џтрwкъ твои1хъ: | give me wisdom, that sitteth by thy throne; and reject me not from among thy children: |

| ћкw ѓзъ рaбъ тв0й и3 сhнъ рабhни твоеS, человёкъ нeмощенъ и3 маловрeмененъ и3 ўмaленъ въ рaзумэ судA и3 зак0нwвъ. | for I thy servant and son of thine handmaid am a feeble person, and of a short time, and too young for the understanding of judgment and laws. |

| Ѓще бо кто2 бyдетъ и3 совершeнъ въ сынёхъ человёческихъ, tсyтствующей твоeй премdрости, ни во чт0же вмэни1тсz. | For though a man be never so perfect among the children of men, yet if thy wisdom be not with him, he shall be nothing regarded. |

| и3 рeклъ ми2 є3си2 создaти хрaмъ въ горЁ с™ёй твоeй и3 во грaдэ њбитaніz твоегw2 nлтaрь, под0біемъ ски1ніи (твоеS) с™hz, ю4же пред8угот0валъ є3си2 t начaла. | thou hast commanded me to build a temple upon thy holy mount, and an altar in the city wherein thou dwellest, a resemblance of the holy tabernacle, which thou hast prepared from the beginning. |

| Кт0 бо t человBкъ познaетъ совётъ б9ій; и3ли2 кто2 помhслитъ, что2 х0щетъ бGъ; | For what man is he that can know the counsel of God? or who can think what the will of the Lord is? |

| Помышлє1ніz бо смeртныхъ боzзли6ва, и3 погрэши1тєлна ўмышлє1ніz н†ша: | For the thoughts of mortal men are miserable, and our devices are but uncertain. |

| тёло бо тлённое њтzгощaетъ дyшу, и3 земн0е жили1ще њбременsетъ ќмъ многопопечи1теленъ. | For the corruptible body presseth down the soul, and the earthy tabernacle weigheth down the mind that museth upon many things. |

| И# є3двA разумэвaемъ, ±же на земли2, и3 ±же въ рукaхъ њбрэтaемъ со труд0мъ: ґ ±же на нб7сёхъ, кто2 и3зслёди; | And hardly do we guess aright at things that are upon earth, and with labour do we find the things that are before us: but the things that are in heaven who hath searched out? |

| дадe же є3мY крёпость содержaти всsчєскаz. | and gave him power to rule all things. |

| Tступи1въ же t неS непрaведный во гнёвэ своeмъ со братоубjйственными поги1бе ћростьми: | But when the unrighteous went away from her in his anger, he perished also in the fury wherewith he murdered his brother. |

| є3гHже рaди потоплsему зeмлю пaки спасE премyдрость, мaлымъ дрeвомъ првdника соблю1дши. | For whose cause the earth being drowned with the flood, wisdom again preserved it, and directed the course of the righteous in a piece of wood of small value. |

|
| СіS и3 во є3диномhсліи лукaвства смёшеныхъ kзhкwвъ њбрёте првdника и3 сохрани2 є3го2 непор0чна бGу, и3 въ поболёніи њ чaдэ крёпка соблюдE. | Moreover, the nations in their wicked conspiracy being confounded, she found out the righteous, and preserved him blameless unto God, and kept him strong against his tender compassion toward his son. |

| СіS првdнаго, погибaющымъ нечести1вымъ, и3збaви бэжaщаго t nгнS низходsща на пsть градHвъ: | When the ungodly perished, she delivered the righteous man, who fled from the fire which fell down upon the five cities. |

| и4хже є3щE свидётелство лукaвствіz дымsщаzсz стои1тъ землS пустA, и3 несовершeнными времены2 плодонос‰щаz древесA, и3 невёрныz души2 пaмzть стоsщь ст0лпъ слaнъ. | Of whose wickedness, even to this day the waste land that smoketh is a testimony, and plants bearing fruit that never come to ripeness: and a standing pillar of salt is a monument of an unbelieving soul. |

| Премyдрость бо мимоходsщіи не т0кмw повреди1шасz, є4же не вёдэти блaга, но и3 безyміz своегw2 њстaвиша житію2 пaмzть, да въ ни1хже согрэши1ша, нижE ўтаи1тисz возм0гутъ. | For regarding not wisdom, they gat not only this hurt, that they knew not the things which were good; but also left behind them to the world a memorial of their foolishness: so that in the things wherein they offended they could not so much as be hid. |

| Премyдрость же служaщихъ є4й t болёзней и3збaви. | But wisdom delivered from pain those that attended upon her. |

| СіS бэжaщаго t гнёва брaтнz првdника настaви на стєзи2 пр†вы и3 показA є3мY цrтвіе б9іе и3 дадE є3мY рaзумъ с™hхъ, почтE є3го2 въ трудёхъ и3 ўмн0жи труды2 є3гw2. | When the righteous fled from his brother's wrath, she guided him in right paths, shewed him the kingdom of God, and gave him knowledge of holy things, made him rich in his travels, and multiplied the fruit of his labours. |

| Во њби1дэ њбдержaщихъ є3го2 предстA є3мY и3 њбогати2 є3го2, | In the covetousness of such as oppressed him she stood by him, and made him rich. |

| сохрани2 є3го2 t вр†гъ, и3 t навётующихъ защити2 є3го2, и3 п0двигъ крёпокъ на побёду дадE є3мY, да ўвёсть, ћкw всёхъ сильнёе є4сть бlгочeстіе. | She defended him from his enemies, and kept him safe from those that lay in wait, and in a sore conflict she gave him the victory; that he might know that godliness is stronger than all. |

| СіS продaнаго првdника не њстaви, но t грэхA и3збaви є3го2: сни1де съ ни1мъ въ р0въ, | When the righteous was sold, she forsook him not, but delivered him from sin: she went down with him into the pit, |

| и3 во ќзахъ не њстaви є3го2, д0ндеже принесE є3мY ски1птръ цaрствіz и3 влaсть на мyчащихъ є3го2: лжи1выхъ же показA, пор0къ сотв0ршихъ нaнь, и3 дадE є3мY слaву вёчную. | and left him not in bonds, till she brought him the sceptre of the kingdom, and power against those that oppressed him: as for them that had accused him, she shewed them to be liars, and gave him perpetual glory. |

| СіS людeй препод0бныхъ и3 сёмz непор0чное и3збaви t kзы6къ њскорблsющихъ: | She delivered the righteous people and blameless seed from the nation that oppressed them. |

| вни1де въ дyшу рабA гDнz и3 востA проти1ву царeй стрaшныхъ въ чудесёхъ и3 знaменіихъ. | She entered into the soul of the servant of the Lord, and withstood dreadful kings in wonders and signs; |

| ВоздадE преподHбнымъ мздY трудHвъ и4хъ, настaви и5хъ въ пyть ди1венъ и3 бhсть и5мъ въ покр0въ днeмъ и3 въ плaмень ѕвёздъ въ нощи2. | rendered to the righteous a reward of their labours, guided them in a marvellous way, and was unto them for a cover by day, and a light of stars in the night season; |

| ПреведE и5хъ но м0рю чермн0му и3 проведE и5хъ сквозЁ в0ду мн0гу: | brought them through the Red sea, and led them through much water: |

| враги1 же и4хъ потопи2 и3 и3з8 глубины2 бeздны и3зри1ну и5хъ. | but she drowned their enemies, and cast them up out of the bottom of the deep. |

|

|
| Сегw2 рaди прaведніи взsша кwрhсти нечести1выхъ и3 воспёша, гDи, и4мz с™0е твоE, и3 њдолётелницу рyку твою2 похвали1ша є3динодyшнэ: | Therefore the righteous spoiled the ungodly, and praised thy holy name, O Lord, and magnified with one accord thine hand, that fought for them. |

| ћкw премyдрость tвeрзе ўстA нэмhхъ и3 љзhки младeнцємъ сотвори2 ћсны. | For wisdom opened the mouth of the dumb, and made the tongues of them that cannot speak eloquent. |

| сопроти1вишасz супостaтwмъ и3 tмсти1ша врагHмъ: | They stood against their enemies, and were avenged of their adversaries. |
|

|

|
| возжадaша и3 призвaша тебE, и3 данA бhсть и5мъ водA t кaмене несэк0магw и3 и3зцэлeніе жaжды t кaмене жeстока. | When they were thirsty, they called upon thee, and water was given them out of the flinty rock, and their thirst was quenched out of the hard stone. |

| И$миже бо накaзани бhша врази2 и4хъ, | For by what things their enemies were punished, by the same they in their need were benefited. |

| си1ми сjи во њскудёніи сyще благодётелствовани бhша: | For instead of a fountain of a perpetual running river troubled with foul blood, |

| за и3ст0чникъ ќбw пrнотекyщіz рэки2, кр0вію и3зліsнною смzтeнныz, | for a manifest reproof of that commandment, whereby the infants were slain, thou gavest unto them abundance of water by a means which they hoped not for: |

| во њбличeніе младенцеубjйственнагw повелёніz, дaлъ є3си2 и5мъ и3з8oби1лну в0ду безнадeжнw, | declaring by that thirst then how thou hadst punished their adversaries. |

| показaвъ тогдA жaждею, кaкw проти1вныхъ ўмyчилъ є3си2. | For when they were tried, albeit but in mercy chastised, they knew how the ungodly were judged in wrath and tormented, thirsting in another manner than the just. |

| Е#гдa бо и3скушeни бhша и3 въ ми1лости накaзани, познaша, кaкw во гнёвэ суди1міи нечести1віи мyчишасz: | For these thou didst admonish and try, as a father: but the others, as a severe king, thou didst condemn and punish. |

|
| си1хъ бо ћкw nц7ъ ўчaщь и3скуси1лъ є3си2, џнэхъ же ћкw жeстокъ цRь њсуждaz и3стzзaлъ є3си2. | Whether they were absent or present, they were vexed alike. |

|
| Tстоsщіи же и3 присyтствующіи тaкожде мyчишасz: | For a double grief came upon them, and a groaning for the remembrance of things past. |

|
| сугyба бо и5хъ пріsтъ печaль и3 стенaніе съ пaмzтію минyвшихъ. | For when they heard by their own punishments the other to be benefited, they had some feeling of the Lord. |

| Е#гдa бо слhшаху свои1ми мучє1ніи благодёйствуемыхъ џныхъ, познавaху гDа: | For whom they rejected with scorn, when he was long before thrown out at the casting forth of the infants, him in the end, when they saw what came to pass, they admired. |

|
| є3г0же бо дрeвле во tложeніи tвeржена tрек0шасz смэю1щесz, при концы2 собhтіz ўдиви1шасz, непод0бною прaвєднымъ томи1ми жaждею. | But for the foolish devices of their wickedness, wherewith being deceived they worshipped serpents void of reason, and vile beasts, thou didst send a multitude of unreasonable beasts upon them for vengeance: |

| За помышлє1ніz же без{мнаz непрaвды и4хъ, въ ни1хже заблуди1вше почитaху безсловє1снаz пресмык†ющаzсz и3 ѕвэрeй худhхъ, послaлъ є3си2 и5мъ мн0жество безсловeсныхъ жив0тныхъ во tмщeніе, | that they might know, that wherewithal a man sinneth, by the same shall he be punished. |

| да познaютъ, ћкw и4миже кто2 согрэшaетъ, си1ми и3 мyчитсz. | For thy Almighty hand, that made the world of matter without form, wanted not means to send among them a multitude of bears, or fierce lions, |

| Не неможaше бо всеси1льнаz рукA твоS, ћже сотвори2 мjръ t без8wбрaзнагw веществA, послaти на ни1хъ мн0жество медвёдей, и3ли2 лю1тыхъ львHвъ, | or unknown wild beasts, full of rage, newly created, breathing out either a fiery vapour, or filthy scents of scattered smoke, or shooting horrible sparkles out of their eyes: |

| и3ли2 новосоздaнныхъ ћрости и3сп0лненыхъ ѕвэрeй незнaемыхъ, и3ли2 џгненнымъ дhшущихъ дyхомъ, и3ли2 ѕлосмрaдный произносsщихъ дhмъ, и3ли2 стр†шныz и3з8 nчeй и4скры и3спускaющихъ: | whereof not only the harm might dispatch them at once, but also the terrible sight utterly destroy them. |

| и4хже не т0кмw врeдъ можaше и3стреби1ти |, но и3 зрaкъ ўстрашaющь погуби1ти. | Yea, and without these might they have fallen down with one blast, being persecuted of vengeance, and scattered abroad through the breath of thy power: but thou hast ordered all things in measure and number and weight. |

| И# без8 тёхъ, є3ди1нымъ дyхомъ пaсти мог0ша, t судA гони1ми и3 развёzни t д¦а си1лы твоеS: но вс‰ мёрою и3 числ0мъ и3 вёсомъ расположи1лъ є3си2. | For thou canst shew thy great strength at all times when thou wilt; and who may withstand the power of thine arm? |

| Е$же бо мн0гw мощи2, присyтствуетъ тебЁ всегдA, и3 держaвэ мhшцы твоеS кто2 сопроти1витсz; | For the whole world before thee is as a little grain of the balance, yea, as a drop of the morning dew that falleth down upon the earth. |

| Понeже, ћкоже стрaжикъ въ превёсэхъ, (тaкw) вeсь мjръ пред8 тоб0ю, и3 ћкw кaплz росы2 ќтренніz, сходsщіz на зeмлю. | But thou hast mercy upon all; for thou canst do all things, and winkest at the sins of men, because they should amend. |

| Тёмже заблуждaющихъ помaлу њбличaеши, и3 въ ни1хже согрэшaютъ, воспоминaz ўчи1ши, да премэни1вшесz t ѕл0бы вёруютъ въ тS, гDи. | Therefore chastenest thou them by little and little that offend, and warnest them by putting them in remembrance wherein they have offended, that leaving their wickedness they may believe on thee, O Lord. |

| рaди дэsній ѕлhхъ волшвeній, ±же творsху, и3 жeртвъ непрепод0бныхъ, | whom thou hatedst for doing most odious works of witchcrafts, and wicked sacrifices; |

| и3 чадоубjйцъ неми1лостивыхъ, и3 ўтробоsдцєвъ человёческихъ пл0тей, и3 кровопjйцєвъ t среды2 с™hни твоеS, | and also those merciless murderers of children, and devourers of man's flesh, and the feasts of blood, |

| и3 роди1телей ўби1вшихъ дyшы безпомHщныz, восхотёлъ є3си2 погуби1ти рукaми nтє1цъ нaшихъ: | with their priests out of the midst of their idolatrous crew, and the parents, that killed with their own hands souls destitute of help: |

| да дост0йное пріи1метъ преселeніе nтрокHвъ б9іихъ, ћже ў тебє2 всёхъ дражaйшаz землS. | that the land, which thou esteemedst above all other, might receive a worthy colony of God's children. |

| Но и3 си1хъ ћкw человёкwвъ пощади1лъ є3си2, послaлъ же є3си2 предтекyщыz в0инства твоегw2 џсы, ћкw да тёхъ помaлу и3стребsтъ. | Nevertheless even those thou sparedst as men, and didst send wasps, forerunners of thine host, to destroy them by little and little. |

| судsщь же помaлу давaлъ є3си2 мёсто покаsнію, не невёдzй, ћкw лукaвъ р0дъ и4хъ и3 є3стeственнаz ѕл0ба и4хъ, и3 ћкw не премэни1тсz помышлeніе и4хъ во вёкъ. | but executing thy judgments upon them by little and little, thou gavest them place of repentance, not being ignorant that they were a naughty generation, and that their malice was bred in them, and that their cogitation would never be changed. |

| Сёмz бо бЁ пр0клzто t начaла: нижE боsйсz когw2, tпущeніе даsлъ є3си2 грэхHмъ и4хъ. | For it was a cursed seed from the beginning; neither didst thou for fear of any man give them pardon for those things wherein they sinned. |

| Кт0 бо речeтъ (тебЁ): что2 сотвори1лъ є3си2; И#ли2 кто2 стaнетъ проти1ву судY твоемY; кт0 же и3стsжетъ тS њ kзhцэхъ поги1бшихъ, и5хже ты2 сотвори1лъ є3си2; и3ли2 кто2 въ предстaтелство тебЁ пріи1детъ, tмсти1тель на непрaвєдныz человёки; | For who shall say, What hast thou done? or who shall withstand thy judgment? or who shall accuse thee for the nations that perish, whom thou hast made? or who shall come to stand against thee, to be revenged for the unrighteous men? |

| Нёсть бо и4нъ бGъ рaзвэ тебє2, и4же ради1ши њ всёхъ, да покaжеши, ћкw не непрaвw суди1лъ є3си2. | For neither is there any God but thou that careth for all, to whom thou mightest shew that thy judgment is not unright. |

| НижE цaрь, и3ли2 мучи1тель проти1ву тебє2 воззрёти м0жетъ, њ и4хже погуби1лъ є3си2. | Neither shall king or tyrant be able to set his face against thee for any whom thou hast punished. |

| Првdнъ же сhй, првdнw вс‰ ўправлsеши, нед0лжнаго же мyчитисz њсуди1ти чyждо мни1ши твоеS си1лы. | Forsomuch then as thou art righteous thyself, thou orderest all things righteously: thinking it not agreeable with thy power to condemn him that hath not deserved to be punished. |

| Крёпость бо твоS прaвды начaло и3 є4же над8 всёми твоE вLчество, всёхъ щадёти твори1тъ. | For thy power is the beginning of righteousness, and because thou art the Lord of all, it maketh thee to be gracious unto all. |

| Крёпость бо показyеши невёрующымъ њ совершeнствэ си1лы, ґ въ вёдущихъ дeрзость њбличaеши. | For when men will not believe that thou art of a full power, thou shewest thy strength, and among them that know it thou makest their boldness manifest. |

| Тh же вLчествуzй си1лою въ кр0тости сyдиши и3 съ вели1кимъ щадёніемъ разсмотрsеши нaсъ: съ тоб0ю бо є4сть, є3гдA х0щеши, є4же мощи2. | But thou, mastering thy power, judgest with equity, and orderest us with great favour: for thou mayest use power when thou wilt. |

| Научи1лъ же є3си2 лю1ди тво‰ сицевhми дёлы, ћкw подобaетъ прaведному бhти человэколю1бцу, и3 благонадє1жны сотвори1лъ є3си2 сн7ы тво‰, ћкw даeши њ грэсёхъ покаsніе. | But by such works hast thou taught thy people that the just man should be merciful, and hast made thy children to be of a good hope that thou givest repentance for sins. |

| Нaсъ u5бо наказyz, враги2 нaшz тмaми біeши, да бlгостhню твою2 помышлsемъ судsще, суди1ми же чaемъ ми1лости. | Therefore, whereas thou dost chasten us, thou scourgest our enemies a thousand times more, to the intent that, when we judge, we should carefully think of thy goodness, and when we ourselves are judged, we should look for mercy. |

| Сегw2 рaди ћкw nтрокHмъ несмhслєннымъ сyдъ въ поругaніе послaлъ є3си2: | Therefore unto them, as to children without the use of reason, thou didst send a judgment to mock them. |

| и5же поругaньми прещeніz не наказaвшесz, дост0йна судA б9іz и3скyсzтъ. | But they that would not be reformed by that correction, wherein he dallied with them, shall feel a judgment worthy of God. |

| Въ ни1хже бо тjи стрaждуще негодовaху, въ си1хъ, и5хже мнsху бhти б0ги, въ тёхъ мyчими, ви1дzще є3г0же прeжде tметaхусz знaти, | For, look, for what things they grudged, when they were punished, that is, for them whom they thought to be gods; now being punished in them, when they saw it, they acknowledged him to be the true God, whom before they denied to know; and therefore came extreme damnation upon them. |

| Сyетни u5бо вси2 человёцы є3стeственнэ, въ ни1хже њбрэтaетсz невёдэніе њ бз7э, и3 t ви1димыхъ бл†гъ не возмог0ша ўразумёти сyщаго, ни дэлHмъ внeмлюще познaша хитрецA: | Surely vain are all men by nature, who are ignorant of God, and could not out of the good things that are seen know him that is: neither by considering the works did they acknowledge the workmaster; |

| но и3ли2 џгнь, и3ли2 дyхъ, и3ли2 ск0ръ воздyхъ, и3ли2 крyгъ ѕвёздный, и3ли2 ѕёлную в0ду, и3ли2 свэти6ла небє1снаz, строи1тєли мjру б0ги (бhти) возмнёша. | but deemed either fire, or wind, or the swift air, or the circle of the stars, or the violent water, or the lights of heaven, to be the gods which govern the world. |

| И$хже ѓще ќбw красот0ю ўслаждaющесz, сі‰ б0ги возмнёша, да ўвёдzтъ, коли1кw си1хъ вLка є4сть лyчшій: красотh бо родоначaлникъ создA |. | With whose beauty if they being delighted took them to be gods; let them know how much better the Lord of them is: for the first author of beauty hath created them. |

| Ѓще же си1лэ и3 дёйствію ўдиви1шасz, да ўразумёютъ t ни1хъ, коли1кw сотвори1вый сі‰ си1льнэйшій є4сть: | But if they were astonished at their power and virtue, let them understand by them, how much mightier he is that made them. |

| t вели1чества бо красоты2 создaній сравни1телнw рододёлатель и4хъ познавaетсz. | For by the greatness and beauty of the creatures proportionably the maker of them is seen. |
|

| Но nбaче на си1хъ є4сть ўничижeніе мaло, и4бо сaми сjи нeгли прельщaютсz, бGа и4щуще и3 хотsще њбрэсти2: | But yet for this they are the less to be blamed: for they peradventure err, seeking God, and desirous to find him. |

| въ дёлэхъ бо є3гw2 живyще и3зслёдуютъ и3 ўвэщавaютсz зрaкомъ, ћкw бл†га ви6димаz. | For being conversant in his works they search him diligently, and believe their sight: because the things are beautiful that are seen. |

| Пaки нижE сjи прощeніz дост0йни: | Howbeit neither are they to be pardoned. |
|

|
| ѓще бо толи1кw возмог0ша вёдэти, да возм0гутъ ўразумёти вёкъ, си1хъ же вLку кaкw скорёе не њбрэт0ша; | For if they were able to know so much, that they could aim at the world; how did they not sooner find out the Lord thereof? |

| Њкаsнни же сyть, и3 въ мeртвыхъ ўпов†ніz и4хъ, и5же назвaша б0ги дэлA рyкъ человёческихъ, злaто и3 сребро2, хи1трости ўмышлeніе, и3 подHбіz жив0тныхъ, и3ли2 кaменіе неключи1мо, дёло руки2 дрeвніz. | But miserable are they, and in dead things is their hope, who called them gods, which are the works of men's hands, gold and silver, to shew art in, and resemblances of beasts, or a stone good for nothing, the work of an ancient hand. |

| Ѓще же кто2 дровосёчецъ тектHнъ, ўг0дное дрeво tсёкъ, њтeшетъ благохуд0жнэ всю2 корY є3гw2, и3 хи1трствуz благолёпнэ сотвори1тъ ўг0денъ сосyдъ во ўпотреблeніе житіS, | Now a carpenter that felleth timber, after he hath sawn down a tree meet for the purpose, and taken off all the bark skilfully round about, and hath wrought it handsomely, and made a vessel thereof fit for the service of man's life; |

| њстaнки же дёла на ўгот0ваніе брaшна и3знури1въ насhтисz: | and after spending the refuse of his work to dress his meat, hath filled himself; |

| њстaнокъ же и4же t ни1хъ ни во что2 благопотрeбенъ, дрeво кри1во и3 сyчіz п0лно, пріи1мъ и3зваS съ прилэжaніемъ прaздности своеS и3 и3скyсствомъ рaзума и3з8wбрази2 є3го2, и3 ўпод0би є3го2 w4бразу человёчу, | and taking the very refuse among those which served to no use, being a crooked piece of wood, and full of knots, hath carved it diligently when he had nothing else to do, and formed it by the skill of his understanding, and fashioned it to the image of a man; |

| и3ли2 нёкоему жив0тному ничт0жному ўпод0би є3го2, помaзавъ шaрами разли1чными и3 њчервлени1въ ви1дъ є3гw2, и3 всsкъ пор0къ, и4же на нeмъ є4сть, и3змaзавъ, | or made it like some vile beast, laying it over with vermilion, and with paint colouring it red, and colouring every spot therein; |

| и3 сотвори1въ є3мY дост0йное є3гw2 њбитaніе, на стэнЁ постaви є5, ўкрэпи1въ желёзомъ. | and when he had made a convenient room for it, set it in a wall, and made it fast with iron: |

| Да не ќбw падeтъ, пред8умhсли њ нeмъ, вёдый, ћкw не м0жетъ помощи2 себЁ: и4бо јдwлъ є4сть и3 трeбуетъ п0мощи. | for he provided for it that it might not fall, knowing that it was unable to help itself; for it is an image, and hath need of help. |

| Њ стzжaніихъ же и3 њ брaцэхъ и3 чaдэхъ свои1хъ молsсz, не стыди1тсz къ бездyшному глаг0лz, | Then maketh he prayer for his goods, for his wife and children, and is not ashamed to speak to that which hath no life. |

| и3 њ здрaвіи ќбw немощн0е призывaетъ, и3 њ животЁ мeртвое м0литъ, и3 въ п0мощь неключи1мое призывaетъ, | For health he calleth upon that which is weak: for life prayeth to that which is dead: for aid humbly beseecheth that which hath least means to help: and for a good journey he asketh of that which cannot set a foot forward: |

| џное бо желaніе пристzжaній ўмhсли, хитрeцъ же мyдростію содёла: | For verily desire of gain devised that, and the workman built it by his skill. |

| тв0й же, џ§е, ўстроsетъ пр0мыслъ: ћкw дaлъ є3си2 и3 въ м0ри пyть и3 въ волнaхъ стезю2 крёпкую, | But thy providence, O Father, governeth it: for thou hast made a way in the sea, and a safe path in the waves; |

| показyz, ћкw си1ленъ є3си2 t всsкагw спcти2, ѓще и3 без8 худ0жества кто2 взhдетъ. | shewing that thou canst save from all danger: yea, though a man went to sea without art. |

| Х0щеши же, да не бyдутъ пр†здна дэлA премdрости твоеS: сегw2 рaди и3 малёйшему дрeву ввэрsютъ человёцы дyшы (сво‰), и3 преходsще вHлны кораблецeмъ и3збaвлени сyть. | Nevertheless thou wouldest not that the works of thy wisdom should be idle, and therefore do men commit their lives to a small piece of wood, and passing the rough sea in a weak vessel are saved. |

| И# t начaла бо, є3гдA погибaху г0рдіи и3споли1ни, ўповaніе мjра въ кораблецЁ и3збэжaвшее, њстaви вёку сёмz рождeніz, рук0ю твоeю ўстр0ено. | For in the old time also, when the proud giants perished, the hope of the world governed by thy hand escaped in a weak vessel, and left to all ages a seed of generation. |

| Благословeно бо дрeво, и4мже бывaетъ прaвда. | For blessed is the wood whereby righteousness cometh. |

| Рукотворeнное же пр0клzто є4сть, и3 сотвори1вый є5: ћкw џвъ ќбw содёла, сіe же тлённое б0гомъ и3меновaсz. | But that which is made with hands is cursed, as well it, as he that made it: he, because he made it: and it, because, being corruptible, it was called God. |

| Въ рaвнэ бо ненави6дима сyть бGу и3 нечeствуzй, и3 нечeстіе є3гw2: | For the ungodly and his ungodliness are both alike hateful unto God. |

| и4бо сотворeное съ сотв0ршимъ мyчимо бyдетъ. | For that which is made shall be punished together with him that made it. |

| Сегw2 рaди и3 во јдwлэхъ kзhческихъ бyдетъ кaзнь, ћкw въ создaніи б9іи въ мeрзость сотворeни сyть и3 въ соблaзны душaмъ человёчєскимъ и3 въ сёть ногaмъ бyихъ. | Therefore even upon the idols of the Gentiles shall there be a visitation: because in the creature of God they are become an abomination, and stumblingblocks to the souls of men, and a snare to the feet of the unwise. |

| Начaло бо блужeніz ўмышлeніе јдwлwвъ: и3з8wбрётеніе же и4хъ тлёніе животA. | For the devising of idols was the beginning of spiritual fornication, and the invention of them the corruption of life. |

| Нижe бо бhша t начaла, нижE бyдутъ во вёки: | For neither were they from the beginning, neither shall they be for ever. |

| тщеслaвіемъ бо человёческимъ внид0ша въ мjръ, и3 сегw2 рaди крaтокъ и4хъ конeцъ вмэни1сz. | For by the vain glory of men they entered into the world, and therefore shall they come shortly to an end. |

| Г0рькимъ бо плaчемъ сётуz nтeцъ ск0рw восхищeнагw чaда w4бразъ сотвори1въ, є3г0же тогдA человёка мeртва, нн7э ћкw б0га почтE: и3 предадE подр{чнымъ т†йны и3 жє1ртвы: | For a father afflicted with untimely mourning, when he hath made an image of his child soon taken away, now honoured him as a god, which was then a dead man, and delivered to those that were under him ceremonies and sacrifices. |

| пот0мъ врeменемъ возм0гшій нечести1вый њбhчай, ѓки зак0нъ храни1мь бhсть, и3 мучи1телей повелёніемъ почитaєма бsху и3зв†zннаz: | Thus in process of time an ungodly custom grown strong was kept as a law, and graven images were worshipped by the commandments of kings. |

| и5хже въ лицE не могyще чествовaти человёцы дaльнагw рaди њбитaніz, и3здалeча лицE и3з8wбрази1вше, ћвный w4бразъ почитaемагw царS сотвори1ша, ћкw да tстоsщаго ѓки бли1з8 сyщаго ласкaютъ со прилэжaніемъ. | Whom men could not honour in presence, because they dwelt far off, they took the counterfeit of his visage from far, and made an express image of a king whom they honoured, to the end that by this their forwardness they might flatter him that was absent, as if he were present. |

| Въ продолжeніе же ѕлочeстіz и3 не разумёющихъ принyди худ0жниково любочeстіе. | Also the singular diligence of the artificer did help to set forward the ignorant to more superstition. |

| Сeй бо хотS ўгоди1ти держaвствующему, произведE хи1тростію (своeю) под0біе на лyчшее: | For he, peradventure willing to please one in authority, forced all his skill to make the resemblance of the best fashion. |

| мн0жество же человBкъ, привлечeно благоwбрaзіемъ дёла, прeжде вмaлэ чествовaнаго человёка нн7э въ б0га вмэни1ша. | And so the multitude, allured by the grace of the work, took him now for a god, which a little before was but honoured as a man. |

| И# сіE бhсть житію2 въ прельщeніе, ћкw и3ли2 ѕлоключeнію, и3ли2 мучи1телству послужи1вше человёцы, несоo1бщно и4мz кaменію и3 древaмъ њбложи1ша. | And this was an occasion to deceive the world: for men, serving either calamity or tyranny, did ascribe unto stones and stocks the incommunicable name. |

| Посeмъ не дов0лно бЁ прельщaтисz њ б9іи рaзумэ, но и3 въ вели1цэй живyще безyміz брaни, толи6каz ѕл†z мjръ и3менyютъ. | Moreover this was not enough for them, that they erred in the knowledge of God; but whereas they lived in the great war of ignorance, those so great plagues called they peace. |

| Недост0йныхъ бо и4мене јдwлwвъ служeніе начaло всsкагw ѕлA, и3 винA и3 конeцъ є4сть: | For the worshipping of idols not to be named is the beginning, the cause, and the end, of all evil. |

| и4бо и3ли2 веселsщесz неи1стовствуютъ, и3ли2 прор0чествуютъ лHжнаz, и3ли2 живyтъ непрaведнэ, и3ли2 кленyтсz ск0рw. | For either they are mad when they be merry, or prophesy lies, or live unjustly, or else lightly forswear themselves. |

| И$бо скудeльникъ, мsгкую зeмлю мнyщь со труд0мъ, дёлаетъ ко служeнію нaшему к0еждо: но t тогHжде брeніz создA и3 ±же чи1стыхъ дёлъ служє1бныz сосyды, и3 сопроти6вныz, вс‰ под0бнэ: си1хъ же nбои1хъ коегHждо є4сть ўпотреблeніе, судіS є4сть бренодёлатель. | For the potter, tempering soft earth, fashioneth every vessel with much labour for our service: yea, of the same clay he maketh both the vessels that serve for clean uses, and likewise also all such as serve to the contrary: but what is the use of either sort, the potter himself is the judge. |

| И# ѕлотрyдникъ б0га сyетна t тогHжде твори1тъ брeніz, и4же мaлw прeжде t земли2 сотворeнъ бhвъ, по мaлэ и4детъ, и3з8 неsже взsтъ бhсть, и3стsзанъ њ душeвнэмъ долзЁ. | And employing his labours lewdly, he maketh a vain god of the same clay, even he which a little before was made of earth himself, and within a little while after returneth to the same, out of the which he was taken, when his life which was lent him shall be demanded. |

| Но є4сть є3мY прилэжaніе, не ћкw и4мать труди1тисz, нижE ћкw краткоконeчно житіE и4мать: но ревнyетъ златодёлателємъ и3 среброліsтелємъ, и3 мёди дёлателємъ подражaетъ, и3 слaву мни1тъ, ћкw сквє1рнаz дёлаетъ. | Notwithstanding his care is, not that he shall have much labour, nor that his life is short: but striveth to excel goldsmiths and silversmiths, and endeavoureth to do like the workers in brass, and counteth it his glory to make counterfeit things. |

| Но вмэни1ша и3грaлище бhти жив0тъ нaшъ, и3 житіE всE ўпражнeно на приwбрётеніе: и4бо глаг0лютъ, ћкw подобaетъ tкyду либо, ѓще и3 t ѕлA, приwбрэтaти. | But they counted our life a pastime, and our time here a market for gain: for, say they, we must be getting every way, though it be by evil means. |

| ћкw вс‰ јдwлы kзhчєски вмэни1ша въ б0ги, и5мже нижE nчeсъ ўпотреблeніе ко зрёнію, нижE н0здри въ привлечeніе ѓера, нижE ќши слhшати, нижE пeрсты рyкъ во њсzзaніе, и3 н0ги и4хъ пр†здны ко хождeнію. | For they counted all the idols of the heathen to be gods: which neither have the use of eyes to see, nor noses to draw breath, nor ears to hear, nor fingers of hands to handle; and as for their feet, they are slow to go. |

| да џни ќбw вожделёвшіи пи1щи, показaніемъ п0сланыхъ, и3 t нyжнагw хотёніz tвратsтсz, сjи же вмaлэ скyдни бhвше, и3 стрaнна приwбщaтсz вкушeніz. | to the end that they, desiring food, might for the ugly sight of the beasts sent among them lothe even that, which they must needs desire; but these, suffering penury for a short space, might be made partakers of a strange taste. |

| Подобaше бо на џныхъ ќбw неизбёжнэй нищетЁ наити2 мучи1телствующихъ, си6мъ же т0кмw показaти, кaкw врази2 и4хъ мyчишасz. | For it was requisite, that upon them exercising tyranny should come penury, which they could not avoid: but to these it should only be shewed how their enemies were tormented. |

| И$бо є3гдA тBмъ нaйде жeстокъ ѕвэрeй гнёвъ, и3 ўгрызeньми сверёпыхъ и3стреблsхусz ѕміє1въ, | For when the horrible fierceness of beasts came upon these, and they perished with the stings of crooked serpents, thy wrath endured not for ever: |

| но не до концA пребhсть гнёвъ тв0й: въ наказaніе же вмaлэ смущeни бhша, знaменіе и3мёюще спасeніz, на воспоминaніе зaповэди зак0на твоегw2: | But they were troubled for a small season, that they might be admonished, having a sign of salvation, to put them in remembrance of the commandment of thy law. |

| њбрати1выйсz бо не (вeщію) зри1мою цэлsшесz, но тоб0ю всёхъ сп7си1телемъ. | For he that turned himself toward it was not saved by the thing that he saw, but by thee, that art the Saviour of all. |

| И# въ сeмъ же показaлъ є3си2 врагHмъ нaшымъ, ћкw ты2 є3си2 и3збавлszй t всsкагw ѕлA: | And in this thou madest thine enemies confess, that it is thou who deliverest from all evil: |

| тёхъ бо ґкр‡ды и3 м{хи поби1ша ўгрызeніемъ, и3 не њбрётесz цэльбA душaмъ и4хъ, ћкw дост0йни бsху t таковhхъ мyчитисz. | for them the bitings of grasshoppers and flies killed, neither was there found any remedy for their life: for they were worthy to be punished by such. |

| СынHвъ же твои1хъ нижE kдови1тыхъ ѕміє1въ зyбы њдолёша: млcть бо твоS прихождaше и3 и3зцэлsше и5хъ. | But thy sons not the very teeth of venomous dragons overcame: for thy mercy was by them, and healed them. |

| Въ пaмzть бо словeсъ твои1хъ бsху ўсёчени и3 ск0рw и3зцэлsхусz, да не во глубинY впaдше забвeніz tлучaтсz твоегw2 бlгодэsніz: | For they were pricked, that they should remember thy words; and were quickly saved, that not falling into deep forgetfulness, they might be continually mindful of thy goodness. |

| нижe бо ѕeліе, нижE њбzзaніе и3зцэли2 и5хъ, но сл0во твоE, гDи, и3зцэлsющее вс‰. | For it was neither herb, nor mollifying plaister, that restored them to health: but thy word, O Lord, which healeth all things. |

| Тh бо животA и3 смeрти влaсть и4маши, и3 низв0диши дaже до врaтъ ѓда, и3 возв0диши. | For thou hast power of life and death: thou leadest to the gates of hell, and bringest up again. |

| Человёкъ же ўбивaетъ ќбw ѕл0бою своeю: и3зшeдшагw же дyха не возврати1тъ, нижE пaки призывaетъ дyшу взsтую. | A man indeed killeth through his malice: and the spirit, when it is gone forth, returneth not; neither the soul received up cometh again. |

| Твоеs же руки2 и3збэжaти невозм0жно є4сть: | But it is not possible to escape thine hand. |

| tметaющіисz бо тебE вёдэти нечести1віи, въ крёпости мhшцы твоеS біeни бhша стрaнными дождьми2 и3 грaдами, и3 бyрzми гони1ми неизбёжнw, и3 nгнeмъ растаевaеми. | For the ungodly, that denied to know thee, were scourged by the strength of thine arm: with strange rains, hails, and showers, were they persecuted, that they could not avoid, and through fire were they consumed. |

| Преслaвное бо, въ водЁ вс‰ ўгашaющей мн0жае дёйствоваше џгнь: споб0рникъ бо є4сть мjръ њ прaведныхъ. | For, which is most to be wondered at, the fire had more force in the water, that quencheth all things: for the world fighteth for the righteous. |

| Nвогдa бо ќбw ўкрощaшесz плaмень, да не сожжeтъ п0сланныхъ жив0тныхъ на нечєсти1выz: но сjи зрsще да вёдzтъ, ћкw t б9іz судA стрaждутъ гонeніе. | For sometime the flame was mitigated, that it might not burn up the beasts that were sent against the ungodly; but themselves might see and perceive that they were persecuted with the judgment of God. |

| Nвогдa же и3 междY вод0ю вhше си1лы џгненныz палsше, да беззакHнныz земли2 порождє1ніz растли1тъ. | And at another time it burneth even in the midst of water above the power of fire, that it might destroy the fruits of an unjust land. |

| Вмёстw же си1хъ ѓгGлскою пи1щею питaлъ є3си2 лю1ди тво‰, и3 ўгот0ванъ хлёбъ съ небесE послaлъ є3си2 и5мъ без8 трудA, всsкое ўслаждeніе въ себЁ и3мёющь и3 ко всsкому сли1чный вкушeнію. | Instead whereof thou feddest thine own people with angels' food, and didst send them from heaven bread prepared without their labour, able to content every man's delight, and agreeing to every taste. |

| Существ0 бо твоE слaдость твою2 ко сынHмъ покaзоваше, и3 ўгождaz є3ди1нагw коегHждо в0ли, ћкоже кто2 хотsше, превращaшесz. | For thy sustenance declared thy sweetness unto thy children, and serving to the appetite of the eater, tempered itself to every man's liking. |

| Снёгъ же и3 лeдъ терпsху џгнь и3 не растаzвaху: да ўвёдzтъ, ћкw плоды2 врагHвъ и3стреблsше џгнь горsщь во грaдэ и3 въ дождeхъ блистaющь: | But snow and ice endured the fire, and melted not, that they might know that fire burning in the hail, and sparkling in the rain, did destroy the fruits of the enemies. |

| т0йже пaки, да питaютсz прaведніи, (џгнь) и3 свою2 забы2 си1лу. | But this again did even forget his own strength, that the righteous might be nourished. |

| Творeніе бо, тебЁ творцY всёхъ служaщее, распростирaетсz на мyку проти1ву непрaведныхъ и3 легчaе твори1тсz во благодэsніе рaди на тS надёющихz. | For the creature that serveth thee, who art the Maker, increaseth his strength against the unrighteous for their punishment, and abateth his strength for the benefit of such as put their trust in thee. |

| Сегw2 рaди и3 тогдA во вс‰ преwбразyемое всёхъ корми1телницэ блгdти твоeй служaше къ в0ли трeбующихъ: | Therefore even then was it altered into all fashions, and was obedient to thy grace, that nourisheth all things, according to the desire of them that had need: |

| да научaтсz сhнове твои2, и5хже возлюби1лъ є3си2, гDи, ћкw не рождє1ніz плодHвъ питaютъ человёка, но сл0во твоE тебЁ вёрующихъ соблюдaетъ. | that thy children, O Lord, whom thou lovest, might know, that it is not the growing of fruits that nourisheth man: but that it is thy word, which preserveth them that put their trust in thee. |

| Е$же бо nгнeмъ нерастлёно ск0рw t мaлыz лучи2 с0лнечныz грёемое растаzвaшесz: | For that which was not destroyed of the fire, being warmed with a little sunbeam, soon melted away: |

| да знaемо бyдетъ (всBмъ), ћкw подобaетъ предвари1ти с0лнце на благодарeніе тебЁ и3 къ вост0ку свёта тебЁ поклони1тисz. | that it might be known, that we must prevent the sun to give thee thanks, and at the dayspring pray unto thee. |

| Неблагодaрнагw бо ўповaніе ћкw зи1мный и4ней растaетъ, и3 и3зліeтсz ћкw водA неключи1ма. | For the hope of the unthankful shall melt away as the winter's hoar frost, and shall run away as unprofitable water. |

| Возмнёвше бо наси1льствовати kзhкъ с™hй беззак0нніи, ќзницы тмы2 и3 д0лгою н0щію свsзани, заключeни под8 кр0вы, бэглецы2 вёчнагw провёдэніz лежaша. | For when unrighteous men thought to oppress the holy nation; they being shut up in their houses, the prisoners of darkness, and fettered with the bonds of a long night, lay there exiled from the eternal providence. |

| Ўтаи1тисz бо мнsще въ сокровeнныхъ грэсёхъ, мрaчнымъ забвeніz покрывaломъ расточeни бhша, ўжасaющесz лю1тэ и3 страши1лищами возмущeни: | For while they supposed to lie hid in their secret sins, they were scattered under a dark veil of forgetfulness, being horribly astonished, and troubled with strange apparitions. |

| нижe бо содержaй и5хъ вертeпъ без8 стрaха сохрани2, шyмы же сходsще возмущaху и5хъ, и3 привидBніz др‰хлаz печaльными ли1цами kвлsхусz. | For neither might the corner that held them keep them from fear: but noises as of waters falling down sounded about them, and sad visions appeared unto them with heavy countenances. |

| И# џгненнаz ќбw ни є3ди1на си1ла можaше њсвэщaти, нижE ѕвёздъ свётліи плaменіе просвэти1ти можaху въ тY н0щь стрaшную. | No power of the fire might give them light: neither could the bright flames of the stars endure to lighten that horrible night. |

| Kвлsшесz же и5мъ т0кмw внезaпный џгнь стрaха и3сп0лнь: ўстрашaеми же неви1димымъ џнымъ призрaкомъ, мнsху гHршаz бhти ви6димаz. | Only there appeared unto them a fire kindled of itself, very dreadful: for being much terrified, they thought the things which they saw to be worse than the sight they saw not. |

| Волшeбнагw же худ0жества предлежaху посмэ‰ніz, и3 њ премyдрости величaніz њбличeніе ўкори1зненно: | As for the illusions of art magic, they were put down, and their vaunting in wisdom was reproved with disgrace. |

| њбэщaющіисz бо и3згнaти стрaхи и3 смущє1ніz t души2 болsщіz, сjи посмэsтелнымъ стрaхомъ болsху. | For they, that promised to drive away terrors and troubles from a sick soul, were sick themselves of fear, worthy to be laughed at. |

| И$бо ѓще и3 ничт0же и5хъ мzтeжное ўстрашaше, ѕвэрeй прех0дами и3 ѕміє1въ звиздaньми подви1жени погибaху трeпетни, и3 ѓера tню1дъ неизбёжнагw tрицaющесz ви1дэти. | For though no terrible thing did fear them; yet being scared with beasts that passed by, and hissing of serpents, |

| Боzзли1ваz бо ѕл0ба, свои1мъ свидётелствомъ њсуждaема, вhну пріeмлетъ во ќмъ лю6таz, содержи1ма с0вэстію. | they died for fear, denying that they saw the air, which could of no side be avoided. |

| Ничт0же бо є4сть стрaхъ, т0кмw лишeніе п0мощей сyщихъ t помышлeніz. | For wickedness, condemned by her own witness, is very timorous, and being pressed with conscience, always forecasteth grievous things. |

| Внyтрь же мeнше сyщее чazніе, б0лшее мни1тъ невёдэніе вины2 подаю1щіz мyку. | For fear is nothing else but a betraying of the succours which reason offereth. |

| џво ќбw страши1лищами мечтaній гони1ми бsху, џво же души2 и3зчезaху предaніемъ: внезaпный бо и5мъ и3 нечazнный стрaхъ нaйде. | But they sleeping the same sleep that night, which was indeed intolerable, and which came upon them out of the bottoms of inevitable hell, |

| ПреподHбнымъ же твои6мъ превели1къ бЁ свётъ: и4хже ќбw глaсъ слhшаше, w4браза же не ви1дzще, занeже ќбw и3 nни2 (тогHжде) не страдaху, ўблажaху. | Nevertheless thy saints had a very great light, whose voice they hearing, and not seeing their shape, because they also had not suffered the same things, they counted them happy. |

| Ґ ћкw не пaкоствуютъ пред8wби1диміи, благодарsху, и3 є4же пронести1сz, благодaти молsху. | But for that they did not hurt them now, of whom they had been wronged before, they thanked them, and besought them pardon for that they had been enemies. |

| Сокровeннw бо жрsху препод0бніи џтроцы благи1хъ, и3 зак0нъ бжcтвенный є3диномhсліемъ завэщaша, т†zжде под0бнw, благ†z же и3 бёдствєннаz воспріимaти с™ы6мъ, nтцє1мъ ўжE предвоспэвaющымъ хвалY. | For the righteous children of good men did sacrifice secretly, and with one consent made a holy law, that the saints should be like partakers of the same good and evil, the fathers now singing out the songs of praise. |

| Противогласsше же несоглaсный врагHвъ в0пль, и3 плачeвный слhшашесz глaсъ плaчущихъ младeнцєвъ. | But on the other side there sounded an ill according cry of the enemies, and a lamentable noise was carried abroad for children that were bewailed. |

| Под0бною же мeстію рaбъ кyпнw съ господи1номъ казнeнъ бhсть, и3 простhй человёкъ съ царeмъ т†zжде пострадA: | The master and the servant were punished after one manner; and like as the king, so suffered the common person. |

| є3динодyшнw же вси2 во є3ди1нэмъ и4мени смeртнэмъ мeртвыхъ и3мёzху безчи1сленныхъ: нижe бо ко погребeнію живjи бsху дов0лни, понeже во є3ди1нэмъ мгновeніи честнёйшій р0дъ и4хъ и3стреблeнъ бhсть. | So they all together had innumerable dead with one kind of death; neither were the living sufficient to bury them: for in one moment the noblest offspring of them was destroyed. |

| Њ всёхъ бо не вёрующе рaди чародэsній, ґ рaди пeрвенцєвъ и3стреблeніz, и3сповёдаша людjй сынHвъ б9іихъ бhти. | For whereas they would not believe any thing by reason of the enchantments; upon the destruction of the firstborn, they acknowledged this people to be the sons of God. |

| Ти1хому бо молчaнію содержaщу вс‰, и3 н0щи во своeмъ течeніи преполовлsющейсz, | For while all things were in quiet silence, and that night was in the midst of her swift course, |

| всемогyщее сл0во твоE, (гDи,) съ нб7съ t пrт0лwвъ цrкихъ жeстокъ рaтникъ въ среди1ну поги1бельныz земли2 сни1де. | thine Almighty word leaped from heaven out of thy royal throne, as a fierce man of war into the midst of a land of destruction, |

| Мeчь џстръ нелицемёрное повелёніе твоE носsй, и3 стaвъ и3сп0лни вс‰ смeрти: и3 небесE ќбw касaшесz, стоsше же на земли2. | and brought thine unfeigned commandment as a sharp sword, and standing up filled all things with death; and it touched the heaven, but it stood upon the earth. |

| ТогдA внезaпу привидBніz ќбw снHвъ лю1тэ смути1ша и5хъ, стрaси же наид0ша нечazнни, | Then suddenly visions of horrible dreams troubled them sore, and terrors came upon them unlooked for. |

| и3 и4нъ и3нaмw вeрженъ є4ле жи1въ, є3sже рaди вины2 ўмирaше, њб8zвлsше: | And one thrown here, and another there, half dead, shewed the cause of his death. |

| сHніz бо, смути1вше и5хъ, сіE предвозвэсти1ша: да не вёдzще, є3гHже рaди ѕлЁ стрaждутъ, поги1бнутъ. | For the dreams that troubled them did foreshew this, lest they should perish, and not know why they were afflicted. |

| Прикоснyсz же нёкогда и3 прaведныхъ и3скушeніе смeрти, поражeніе во пустhни бhсть мн0жества: но не д0лгw пребhсть гнёвъ. | Yea, the tasting of death touched the righteous also, and there was a destruction of the multitude in the wilderness: but the wrath endured not long. |

| Потщaвсz бо мyжъ непор0ченъ предпоб0рствова, своеS слyжбы nрyжіе, моли1тву и3 fmміaма ўмилостивлeніе принeсъ, сопроти1въ стA гнёву и3 конeцъ положи2 бёдствованію, показaвъ, ћкw тв0й є4сть рaбъ. | For then the blameless man made haste, and stood forth to defend them; and bringing the shield of his proper ministry, even prayer, and the propitiation of incense, set himself against the wrath, and so brought the calamity to an end, declaring that he was thy servant. |

| Њдолё же поражaющаго не си1лою тэлeсною, нижE nрyжіz дёйствіемъ, но сл0вомъ покори2 наказyющаго, кл‰твы nтцє1въ и3 завёты воспомzнyвъ. | So he overcame the destroyer, not with might of body, nor force of arms, but with a word subdued him that punished, alleging the oaths and covenants made with the fathers. |

| Громaдами бо ўжE пaдшымъ дрyгъ на дрyга мє1ртвымъ, посредЁ стaвъ, пресэчE гнёвъ и3 раздэли2 къ живы6мъ пyть. | For when the dead were now fallen down by heaps one upon another, standing between, he stayed the wrath, and parted the way to the living. |

| На nдeжди бо поди1ра бЁ вeсь мjръ, и3 nтцє1въ сл†вы на и3зваsніи четырерzдовaгw кaменіz, и3 вели1чество твоE на діади1мэ главы2 є3гw2. | For in the long garment was the whole world, and in the four rows of the stones was the glory of the fathers graven, and thy Majesty upon the diadem of his head. |

| Си6мъ ўступи1лъ и3скоренszй и3 си1хъ ўстраши1сz: бё бо т0кмw и3скушeніе гнёва дов0лно. | Unto these the destroyer gave place, and they were afraid of them: for it was enough that they only tasted of the wrath. |

| Нечєсти1вымъ же до концA без8 ми1лости ћрость нaйде: предвёдэ бо и4хъ и3 б{дущаz, | As for the ungodly, wrath came upon them without mercy unto the end: for he knew before what they would do; |

| ћкw тjи tпусти1вшіи, є4же tити2, и3 со тщaніемъ предпослaвше и5хъ, поженyтъ в8слёдъ раскazвшесz: | how that having given them leave to depart, and sent them hastily away, they would repent and pursue them. |

| є3щe бо въ рукaхъ и3мёюще рыд†ніz и3 сётующе над8 гробaми мeртвыхъ, и4нъ себЁ взsша п0мыслъ безyміz, и3 и5хже молsще и3згнaша, си1хъ ѓки бэглецє1въ гонsху. | For whilst they were yet mourning and making lamentation at the graves of the dead, they added another foolish device, and pursued them as fugitives, whom they had intreated to be gone. |

| Влечaше бо и5хъ къ семY концY дост0йнаz нyжда, и3 приклю1чшихсz забhтіе вложи2, да и3 пр0чую къ мучeніємъ принап0лнzтъ кaзнь: | For the destiny, whereof they were worthy, drew them unto this end, and made them forget the things that had already happened, that they might fulfil the punishment which was wanting to their torments: |

| и3 лю1діе ќбw твои2 преслaвное путьшeствіе прeйдутъ, nни1 же стрaнну њбрsщутъ смeрть. | and that thy people might pass through a wonderful way: but they might find a strange death. |

| Всe бо творeніе во своeмъ є3мY р0дэ пaки свhше преwбразовaшесz, служaщее св0йствєннымъ твои6мъ повелёніємъ, да џтроцы твои2 сохранsтсz невреждeни. | For the whole creature in his proper kind was fashioned again anew, serving the peculiar commandments that were given unto them, that thy children might be kept without hurt: |

| W$блакъ њсэнszй п0лкъ и4хъ, и3 и3з8 преждебhвшіz воды2 tкрhтіе сухjz земли2 kви1сz, и3 и3з8 м0рz чермнaгw пyть невозбрaненъ, и3 п0ле ѕлaчное t волнeніz ѕёлнагw: | as namely, a cloud shadowing the camp; and where water stood before, dry land appeared; and out of the Red sea a way without impediment; and out of the violent stream a green field: |

| и4мже вeсь kзhкъ пр0йде, твоeю рук0ю покровeни, ви1дzще ди6внаz чудесA. | through which all the people went that were defended with thy hand, seeing thy marvellous strange wonders. |

| Ћкоже бо к0ни насhтишасz, и3 ћкw ѓгнцы взыгрaшасz, хвaлzще тS, гDи, и3збaвльшаго и5хъ: | For they went at large like horses, and leaped like lambs, praising thee, O Lord, who hadst delivered them. |

| воспомzнyша бо є3щE, ±же во њбитaніи и4хъ, кaкw ќбw вмёстw рождeніz жив0тныхъ и3зведE землS скн‡пы, вмёстw же рhбъ и3зрhгну рэкA мн0жество жaбъ. | For they were yet mindful of the things that were done while they sojourned in the strange land, how the ground brought forth flies instead of cattle, and how the river cast up a multitude of frogs instead of fishes. |

| Послэди1 же ви1дэша и3 н0вое рождeніе пти1цъ, є3гдA похотёніемъ подви1гшесz, проси1ша слaдостныz пи1щи. | But afterward they saw a new generation of fowls, when, being led with their appetite, they asked delicate meats. |

| Во ўтэшeніе бо взыд0ша и5мъ t м0рz крaстєли: и3 мучє1ніz грBшнымъ наид0ша, не без8 бhвшихъ знaменій си1лою м0лній: прaведнэ бо пострадaша за сво‰ ѕлHбы, | For quails came up unto them from the sea for their contentment. |

| и4бо лютёйшее ненавидёніе стрaнныхъ соверши1ша: и3нjи ќбw незнaемыхъ не пріeмлzху пришeлцєвъ, сjи же благодётелей стрaнныхъ порабощaху. | And punishments came upon the sinners not without former signs by the force of thunders: for they suffered justly according to their own wickedness, insomuch as they used a more hard and hateful behaviour toward strangers. |

| И# не т0кмw, но ѓще к0е разсмотрeніе бyдетъ и4хъ: занE враждeбнw пріeмлzху чуждhхъ. | For the Sodomites did not receive those, whom they knew not when they came: but these brought friends into bondage, that had well deserved of them. |

| Сjи же съ прaзднествами пріeмше приwбщи1вшихсz ўжE и4хъ њбhчаємъ, жесточaйшими њѕл0биша трудaми. | And not only so, but peradventure some respect shall be had of those, because they used strangers not friendly: |

| Побіeни же бhша и3 њслэплeніемъ, ћкоже џніи при двeрехъ прaведника, є3гдA вели1кою њбложeни тм0ю, кjйждо свои1хъ двeрій прох0да и3скaше. | but these very grievously afflicted them, whom they had received with feastings, and were already made partakers of the same laws with them. |

| Сaми бо соб0ю стіх‡и премэнsємы, ћкоже въ гyслехъ глaсы сли1чіz и4мz премэнsютъ, всегдA хранsще звyкъ: є4же є4сть ви1дэти t зрaка бhвшихъ и3звёстнw. | Therefore even with blindness were these stricken, as those were at the doors of the righteous man: when, being compassed about with horrible great darkness, every one sought the passage of his own doors. |

| Земн†z бо въ вHднаz прелагaхусz, и3 пл†вающаz прехождaху на зeмлю. | For the elements were changed in themselves by a kind of harmony, like as in a psaltery notes change the name of the tune, and yet are always sounds; which may well be perceived by the sight of the things that have been done. |

| Џгнь возмогaше въ водЁ вhшше своеS си1лы, и3 водA ўгашaющую си1лу забы2. | For earthly things were turned into watery, and the things, that before swam in the water, now went upon the ground. |

| Плaмень вопреки2 ўдоботлённыхъ жив0тныхъ не вреди2 пл0тей въ нeмъ ходsщихъ, нижE таsше ледови1дный ўдоботazй р0дъ слaдостныz пи1щи. | The fire had power in the water, forgetting his own virtue: and the water forgat his own quenching nature. |

| По всемy бо, гDи, возвели1чилъ є3си2 лю1ди тво‰ и3 прослaвилъ є3си2, и3 не презрёлъ є3си2, во всsцэмъ врeмени и3 мёстэ предстоsй. | On the other side, the flames wasted not the flesh of the corruptible living things, though they walked therein; neither melted they the icy kind of heavenly meat, that was of nature apt to melt. |
