| And I in the first year of Cyrus stood to strengthen and confirm him. | Отже, я з першого року Дарія мидянина став йому підпорою і підкріпленням. |

| And now I will tell thee the truth. Behold, there shall yet rise up three kings in Persia: and the fourth shall be very far richer than all: and after that he is master of his wealth, he shall rise up against all the kingdoms of the Greeks. | Тепер звіщу тобі істину: ось, ще три царі постануть у Персії; потім четвертий перевершить усіх великим багатством, і коли підсилиться багатством своїм, то підніме всіх проти царства Грецького. |

| And there shall rise up a mighty king, and he shall be lord of a great empire, and shall do according to his will. | І постане цар могутній, який буде володарювати з великою владою, і буде діяти за своєю волею. |
|

|
| And when his kingdom shall stand up, it shall be broken, and shall be divided to the four winds of heaven; but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled over: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, and given to others beside these. | Але коли він постане, царство його зруйнується і розділиться за чотирма вітрами небесними, і не до його нащадків перейде, і не з тією владою, з якою він володарював; бо роздрібниться царство його і дістанеться іншим, крім цих. |

| And the king of the south shall be strong; and one of their princes shall prevail against him, and shall obtain a great dominion. | І підсилиться південний цар і один з князів його пересилить його і буде володарювати, і велике буде володарювання його. |
|

| And after his years they shall associate; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north, to make agreements with him: but she shall not retain power of arm; neither shall his seed stand: and she shall be delivered up, and they that brought her, and the maiden, and he that strengthened her in these times. | Але через кілька років вони зблизяться, і дочка південного царя прийде до царя північного, щоб установити правильні стосунки між ними; але вона не втримає сили у руках своїх, не устоїть і рід її, але віддані будуть як вона, так і ті, що супроводжували її, і народжений нею, і ті, що допомагали їй у ті часи. |

| But out of the flower of her root there shall arise one on his place, and shall come against the host, and shall enter into the strongholds of the king of the north, and shall fight against them, and prevail. | Але постане паросток від кореня її, прийде до війська і ввійде в укріплення царя північного, і буде діяти у них, і підсилиться. |
|

| Yea, he shall carry with a body of captives into Egypt their gods with their molten images, and all their precious vessels of silver and gold; and he shall last longer than the king of the north. | Навіть і богів їх, ідолів їх з дорогоцінними сосудами їх, срібними і золотими, відвезе у полон у Єгипет і на кілька років буде стояти вище за царя північного. |

| And he shall enter into the kingdom of the king of the south, and shall return to his own land. | Хоч цей і зробить нашестя на царство південного царя, але повернеться у свою землю. |
|

| And his sons shall gather a multitude among many: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through, and he shall rest, and collect his strength. | Потім озброяться сини його і зберуть численне військо, і один з них швидко піде, наводнить і пройде, і потім, повернувшись, буде битися з ним до укріплень його. |

| And the king of the south shall be greatly enraged, and shall come forth, and shall war with the king of the north: and he shall raise a great multitude; but the multitude shall be delivered into his hand. | І роздратується південний цар, і виступить, воюватиме з ним, з царем північним, і виставить велике військо, і віддане буде військо до рук його. |

| And he shall take the multitude, and his heart shall be exalted; and he shall cast down many thousands; but he shall not prevail. | І підбадьориться військо, і серце царя піднесеться; він подолає багато тисяч, але від цього не буде сильнішим. |
|

|
| For the king of the north shall return, and bring a multitude greater than the former, and at the end of the times of years an invading army shall come with a great force, and with much substance. | Бо цар північний повернеться і виставить військо більше першого, і через кілька років швидко прийде з величезним військом і великим багатством. |
|

|
| And in those times many shall rise up against the king of the south; and the children of the spoilers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; and they shall fail. | У ті часи багато хто повстане проти південного царя, і непокірні з синів твого народу піднімуться, щоб сповнилося видіння, і впадуть. |
|

| And the king of the north shall come in, and cast up a mound, and take strong cities: and the arms of the king of the south shall withstand, and his chosen ones shall rise up, but there shall be no strength to stand. | І прийде цар північний, збудує вал і оволодіє укріпленим містом, і не устоять сили півдня, ні добірне військо його; не вистачить сили протистояти. |

| And he that comes in against him shall do according to his will, and there is no one to stand before him: and he shall stand in the land of beauty, and it shall be consumed by his hand. | І хто вийде до нього, буде діяти з волі його, і ніхто не встоїть перед ним; і на славній землі поставить стан свій, і вона постраждає від руки його. |

| And he shall set his face to come in with the force of his whole kingdom, and shall cause everything to prosper with him: and he shall give him the daughter of women to corrupt her: but she shall not continue, neither be on his side. | І наміриться увійти з усіма силами царства свого, і праведні з ним, і зробить це; і дочку дружин віддасть йому, на загибель її, але цей задум не відбудеться, і йому не буде користи з того. |

| And he shall turn his face to the islands, and shall take many, and cause princes to cease from their reproach: nevertheless his own reproach shall return to him. | Потім оберне лице своє до островів й оволодіє багатьма; але якийсь вождь припинить нанесену ним ганьбу і навіть свою ганьбу оберне на нього. |

| Then he shall turn back his face to the strength of his own land: but he shall become weak, and fall, and not be found. | Потім він оберне лице своє на укріплення своєї землі; але спіткнеться, упаде і не стане його. |
|

|
| And there shall arise out of his root one that shall cause a plant of the kingdom to pass over his place, earning kingly glory: and yet in those days shall he be broken, yet not openly, nor in war. | На місце його постане хтось, який пошле збирача податей, пройти по царству слави; але й він після небагатьох днів загине, і не від збурення і не у битві. |

| One shall stand on his place, who has been set at nought, and they have not put upon him the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in prosperously, and obtain the kingdom by deceitful ways. | І постане на місце його знехтуваний, і не віддадуть йому царських почестей, але він прийде без шуму і лестощами оволодіє царством. |

| And the arms of him that overflows shall be washed away as with a flood from before him, and shall be broken, and so shall be the head of the covenant. | І полчища, які все потоплюють, будуть потоплені і розтрощені ним, навіть і сам вождь завіту. |
|

|
| And because of the leagues made with him he shall work deceit: and he shall come up, and overpower them with a small nation. | Бо після того, як він вступить у союз з ним, він буде діяти обманом, і піднесеться, і візьме гору з малим народом. |
|

|
| And he shall enter with prosperity, and that into fertile districts; and he shall do what his fathers and his fathers' fathers have not done; he shall scatter among them plunder, and spoils, and wealth; and he shall devise plans against Egypt, even for a time. | Він увійде у мирні і родючі країни, і зробить те, чого не робили батьки його і батьки батьків його; здобич, награбоване майно і багатство буде марнотратити на своїх і на укріплення буде мати задуми свої, але тільки до часу. |

| And his strength and his heart shall be stirred up against the king of the south with a great force; and the king of the south shall engage in war with a great and very strong force; but his forces shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him: | Потім пробудить сили свої і дух свій з численним військом проти царя південного, і південний цар виступить на війну з великим і ще більш сильним військом, але не устоїть, тому що буде проти нього підступництво. |

| and they shall eat his provisions, and shall crush him, and he shall carry away armies as with a flood, and many shall fall down slain. | Навіть учасники трапези його погублять його, і військо його розіллється, і впаде багато убитих. |
|

| And as for both the kings, their hearts are set upon mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper; for yet the end is for a fixed time. | У обох царів цих на серці буде підступництво, і за одним столом будуть говорити неправду, але успіху не буде, тому що кінець ще відкладений до часу. |

| And he shall return to his land with much substance; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall perform great deeds, and return to his own land. | І вирушить він у землю свою з великим багатством і ворожим наміром проти святого завіту, і він виконає його, і повернеться у свою землю. |
|

|
| At the set time he shall return, and shall come into the south, but the last expedition shall not be as the first. | У призначений час знову піде він на південь; але останній похід не такий буде, як попередній, |
|

|
| For the Citians issuing forth shall come against him, and he shall be brought low, and shall return, and shall be incensed against the holy covenant: and he shall do thus, and shall return, and have intelligence with them that have forsaken the holy covenant. | бо в один час з ним прийдуть кораблі киттимські; і він упаде духом, і повернеться, й озлобиться на святий завіт, і виконає свій намір, і знову домовиться з відступниками від святого завіту. |

| And seeds shall spring up out of him, and they shall profane the sanctuary of strength, and they shall remove the perpetual sacrifice, and make the abomination desolate. | І поставлена буде ним частина війська, яка осквернить святилище могутности, і припинить щоденну жертву, і поставить мерзоту запустіння. |

|
| And the transgressors shall bring about a covenant by deceitful ways: but a people knowing their God shall prevail, and do valiantly. | Тих, хто чинить нечестиво проти завіту, він залучить до себе лестощами; але люди, які шанують свого Бога, підсиляться і будуть діяти. |
|

|
| And the intelligent of the people shall understand much: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, and by captivity, and by spoil of many days. | І розумні з народу напоумлять багатьох, хоч будуть деякий час страждати від меча і вогню, від полону і грабунку; |
|

| And when they are weak they shall be helped with a little help: but many shall attach themselves to them with treachery. | й у час страждання свого будуть мати деяку допомогу, і багато хто приєднається до нас, але нещиро. |
|

|
| And some of them that understand shall fall, to try them as with fire, and to test them, and that they may be manifested at the time of the end, for the matter is yet for a set time. | Постраждають деякі і з розумних для випробування їх, очищення і для убілення до останнього часу; тому що є ще час до терміну. |
|

|
| And he shall do according to his will, and the king shall exalt and magnify himself against every god, and shall speak great swelling words, and shall prosper until the indignation shall be accomplished: for it is coming to an end. | І буде чинити цар той зі своєї сваволі, і піднесеться і возвеличиться вище за всяке божество, і про Бога богів стане говорити хульне і буде мати успіх, доки не звершиться гнів: бо, що наперед визначено, те сповниться. |

| And he shall not regard any gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, neither shall he regard any deity: for he shall magnify himself above all. | І про богів батьків своїх він не помислить, і ні бажання дружин, ні навіть божества ніякого не вшанує; бо звеличить себе вище за усіх. |
|

|
| And he shall honour the god of forces on his place: and a god whom his fathers knew not he shall honour with gold, and silver, and precious stones, and desirable things. | Але богу укріплень на місці його він буде віддавати шану, і цього бога, якого не знали батьки його, він буде ушановувати золотом і сріблом, і коштовними каменями, і різними дорогоцінностями, |

| And he shall do thus in the strong places of refuge with a strange god, and shall increase his glory: and he shall subject many to them, and shall distribute the land in gifts. | і збудує міцне укріплення з чужим богом: які ви́знають його, тим збільшить почесті й дасть владу над багатьма, і землю роздасть у нагороду. |

|
| And at the end of the time he shall conflict with the king of the south: and the king of the north shall come against him with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and they shall enter into the land: and he shall break in pieces, and pass on: | Під кінець же часу буде воювати з ним цар південний, і цар північний кинеться як буря на нього з колісницями, вершниками і численними кораблями, і нападе на області, наводнить їх, і пройде через них. |

| and he shall enter into the land of beauty, and many shall fail: but these shall escape out of his hand, Edom, and, Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. | І увійде він у найпрекраснішу із земель, і багато областей постраждають, і врятуються від руки його тільки Едом, Моав і велика частина синів Аммонових. |

| And he shall stretch forth his hand over the land; and the land of Egypt shall not escape. | І простягне руку свою на різні країни; не врятується і земля Єгипетська. |
|

|
| And he shall have the mastery over the secret treasures of gold and silver, and over all the desirable possessions of Egypt, and of the Libyans and Ethiopians in their strongholds. | І заволодіє він скарбами золота і срібла і різними коштовностями Єгипту; лівійці й ефіопляни підуть за ним. |
|

|
| But rumours and anxieties out of the east and from the north shall trouble him; and he shall come with great wrath to destroy many. | Але чутки зі сходу і півночі стривожать його, і вийде він у великій люті, щоб знищувати і губити багатьох, |
|
45
|
45
|
| And he shall pitch the tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the holy mountain of beauty: but he shall come to his portion, and there is none to deliver him. | і розкине він царські намети свої між морем і горою преславного святилища; але прийде до свого кінця, і ніхто не допоможе йому. |
