Chapter 5
Главa є7
1
1
And the cry of the people and their wives was great against their brethren the Jews.
2
2
And some said, We are numerous with our sons and our daughters; so we will take corn, and eat, and live. И# бhша нёцыи глаг0люще: сhнове нaши и3 дщє1ри нaшz мн0зи сyть нaмъ, и3 да в0змемъ (за цёну) пшени1цу и3 kди1мъ и3 жи1ви бyдемъ.
3
3
And some said, As to our fields and vineyards and houses, let us pledge them, and we will take corn, and eat. И# бhша нёцыи глаг0люще: сeла н†ша и3 віногрaды нaшz и3 д0мы нaшz мы2 да дади1мъ въ зал0гъ, и3 в0змемъ пшени1цу, и3 ћсти бyдемъ.
4
4
And some said, We have borrowed money for the king's tributes:—our fields, and our vineyards, and houses are pledged. И# бhша нёцыи глаг0люще: взаи1мъ взsхомъ сребро2 на д†ни царє1вы, дади1мъ сeла н†ша и3 віногрaды нaшz и3 д0мы нaшz:
5
5
And now our flesh is as the flesh of our brethren, our children are as their children: yet, behold, we are reducing our sons and our daughters to slavery, and some of our daughters are enslaved: and there is no power of our hands, for our fields and our vineyards belong to the nobles. и3 нн7э ћкоже пл0ть брaтій нaшихъ, пл0ть нaша, ћкоже сhнове и4хъ, сhнове нaши: и3 сE, мы2 порабощaемъ сhны нaшz и3 дщє1ри нaшz въ рабы6, и3 сyть t дщeрей нaшихъ порабощє1ны, и3 нёсть си1лы въ рукaхъ нaшихъ (tкупи1ти) и3 сeла н†ша и3 віногрaды нaшz ў вельм0жъ.
6
6
And I was much grieved as I heard their cry and these words.
7
7
And my heart took counsel within me, and I contended against the nobles, and the princes, and I said to them, Should every man demand of his brother what ye demand? And I appointed against them a great assembly, И# ўсовётова сeрдце моE во мнЁ, и3 воспрети1хъ держ†внымъ и3 нач†лнымъ и3 рек0хъ и5мъ: ли1хвы ли кjйждо t брaта своегw2 и3стsжетъ, ю4же вы2 и3стzзyете; и3 собрaхъ проти1ву и5мъ собрaніе вели1ко
8
8
and I said to them, We of our free-will have redeemed our brethren the Jews that were sold to the Gentiles; and do ye sell your brethren? and shall they be delivered to us? And they were silent, and found no answer. и3 рек0хъ и5мъ: мы2 и3скупи1хомъ брaтію нaшу їудеHвъ, пр0даныхъ kзhкwмъ, по си1лэ нaшей: вh же продaсте брaтію вaшу, и3 tдадyтсz нaмъ; И# ўмолчaша, и3 не њбрэт0ша что2 tвэщaти.
9
9
And I said, The thing which ye do is not good; ye will not so walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the Gentiles our enemies. И# рек0хъ: не добро2 дёло, є4же вы2 творитE: тaкw не во стрaсэ бGа нaшегw (ходsще) ўбэжитe ли t поношeніz kзhкwвъ врагHвъ нaшихъ;
10
10
Both my brethren, and my acquaintances, and I, have lent them money and corn: let us now leave off this exaction. и3 ѓзъ и3 брaтіz мо‰ и3 знaеміи мои2 взаи1мъ дaхомъ и5мъ пBнzзи и3 пшени1цу: њстaвимъ u5бо лихои1мство сіE:
11
11
Restore to them, I pray, as at this day, their fields, and their vineyards, and their olive-yards, and their houses, and bring forth to them corn and wine and oil of the money.
12
12
And they said, We will restore, and we will not exact of them; we will do thus as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and bound them by oath to do according to this word.
13
13
And I shook out my garment, and said, So may God shake out every man who shall not keep to this word, from his house, and from his labours, he shall be even thus shaken out, as an outcast and empty. And all the congregation said, Amen, and they praised the Lord: and the people did this thing.
14
14
From the day that he charged me to be their ruler in the land of Juda, from the twentieth year even to the thirty-second year of Arthasastha, twelve years, I and my brethren ate not provision extorted from them. T днE тогw2, въ џньже повелЁ (цaрь) мнЁ бhти вождeмъ и4хъ въ земли2 їyдинэ, t лёта двадесsтагw и3 дaже до лёта три1десzть вторaгw ґртаxeрxа царS, лётъ дванaдесzть, ѓзъ и3 брaтіz мо‰ њбр0ку и4хъ не kд0хомъ.
15
15
But as for the former acts of extortion wherein those who were before me oppressed them, they even took of them their last money, forty didrachms for bread and wine; and the very outcasts of them exercised authority over the people: but I did not so, because of the fear of God. И# њбр0кwвъ пeрвыхъ, и4миже прeжде менє2 њтzгчи1ша и5хъ, и3 пріsша t ни1хъ въ хлёбэ и3 въ вінЁ, по си1хъ сребрA (на всsкъ дeнь) дідрaхмъ четhредесzть: и3 служє1бницы и4хъ њбладaша людьми2. Ѓзъ же не сотвори1хъ тaкw рaди стрaха б9іz.
16
16
Also in the work of the wall I treated them not with rigor, I bought not land: and all that were gathered together came thither to the work. И# въ дёлэ стёны сі‰ созидaхъ: и3 селA не стzжaхъ, и3 вси2 џтроцы мои2 с0брани бsху тaмw на дёло.
17
17
And the Jews, to the number of a hundred and fifty men, besides those coming to us from the nations round about, were at my table. Їудє1й же и3 начaлникwвъ сто2 пzтьдесsтъ мужeй, и3 приходsщіи къ нaмъ t kзы6къ, и5же w4крестъ нaсъ, при трапeзэ моeй.
18
18
And there came to me for one day one calf, and I had six choice sheep and a goat; and every ten days wine in abundance of all sorts: yet with these I required not the bread of extortion, because the bondage was heavy upon this people. И# бЁ ўгот0вано мнЁ на всsкъ дeнь: телeцъ є3ди1нъ и3 nвeцъ шeсть и3збрaнныхъ и3 козeлъ бhша мнЁ (и3 пти6цы), и3 междY десzти2 днjй всBмъ вінA мн0гw: и3 съ си1ми хлёба госп0дству моемY не взыскaхъ, занE тzжкA раб0та на лю1дехъ си1хъ.
19
19
Remember me, O God, for good, in all that I have done to this people.
