Њбрэтaетсz же во њписaнщхъ їеремjи прbр0ка, ћкw повелЁ nгнS взsти преселsющымсz, ћкоже знaменовасz,	It is also found in the records, that Jeremy the prophet commanded them that were carried away to take of the fire, as it hath been signified:

и3 ћкоже заповёда преселsющымсz прbр0къ, дaвъ и5мъ зак0нъ, да не забывaютъ повелёній гDнихъ и3 да не прельстsтсz ўмы6, ви1дzще јдwлы зл†ты и3 срє1брzны и3 сyщую w4крестъ и4хъ ќтварь.	and how that the prophet, having given them the law, charged them not to forget the commandments of the Lord, and that they should not err in their minds, when they see images of silver and gold, with their ornaments.

И# и4на таков† глаг0лz, молsше, да не tстyпитъ зак0нъ t сeрдца и4хъ.	And with other such speeches exhorted he them, that the law should not depart from their hearts.

Бё же въ писaнщ, ћкw ски1нщ и3 ківHту повелЁ прbр0къ по б9твенному tвёту бhвшему є3мY послёдствовати, д0ндеже взhде въ г0ру на ню1же мwmсeй возшeдъ, ви1дэ б9іе наслёдіе.	It was also contained in the same writing, that the prophet, being warned of God, commanded the tabernacle and the ark to go with him, as he went forth into the mountain, where Moses climbed up, and saw the heritage of God.

И# пришeдъ їеремjа њбрёте пещeру и3 жили1ще, и3 ски1нію и3 ківHтъ, и3 nлтaрь fmміaма внесE тaмw, и3 двє1ри загради2.	And when Jeremy came thither, he found an hollow cave, wherein he laid the tabernacle, and the ark, and the altar of incense, and so stopped the door.

И# приступи1ша нёцыи t послёдствующихъ, да назнaменаютъ себЁ пyть, и3 не мог0ша њбрэсти2.	And some of those that followed him came to mark the way, but they could not find it.

Е#гдa же познA їеремjа, ўкори1въ и5хъ, речE: ћкw невёдомо бyдетъ мёсто, д0ндеже соберeтъ бGъ собрaніе людjй и3 млcтивъ бyдетъ:	Which when Jeremy perceived, he blamed them, saying, As for that place, it shall be unknown until the time that God gather his people again together, and receive them unto mercy.

и3 тогдA гDь покaжетъ сі‰, и3 kви1тсz слaва гDнz и3 w4блакъ, ћкоже и3 при мwmсeи kвлsшесz, ћкоже и3 соломHнъ моли2, да мёсто њс™и1тсz вельми2.	Then shall the Lord shew them these things, and the glory of the Lord shall appear, and the cloud also, as it was shewed under Moses, and as when Solomon desired that the place might be honourably sanctified.

Kвлsшесz же, и3 ћкw премyдрость и3мёz вознесE жeртву њбновленіz и3 совершeніz цeркве.	It was also declared, that he being wise offered the sacrifice of dedication, and of the finishing of the temple.

Ћкоже и3 мwmсeй молsшесz ко гDу, и3 сни1де џгнь съ небесE и3 поzдE жє1ртвы: тaкожде и3 соломHнъ моли1сz, и3 сни1де џгнь съ небесE и3 пожжE всесожжє1ніz.	And as when Moses prayed unto the Lord, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the sacrifices: even so prayed Solomon also, and the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offerings.

И# речE мwmсeй: понeже не снэдeно бhсть сyщее за грёхъ, попали1сz.	And Moses said, Because the sin offering was not to be eaten, it was consumed.

Тaкожде и3 соломHнъ џсмь днjй прaзднова.	So Solomon kept those eight days.

Повёдашасz же и3 въ написaнщхъ и3 въ памzтописaнщхъ бhвшихъ при неемjи т†zжде: и3 кaкw стр0zщь книгопол0жницу собрA кни6ги, ±же њ царeхъ и3 њ прbр0цэхъ и3 њ давjдэ, и3 є3пістHлщ царeй њ приношeнщхъ.	The same things also were reported in the writings and commentaries of Neemias; and how he founding a library gathered together the acts of the kings, and the prophets, and of David, and the epistles of the kings concerning the holy gifts.

Тaкожде и3 їyда, п†дшаz брaнію бhвшею нaмъ, собрA вс‰, и3 сyть при нaсъ.	In like manner also Judas gathered together all those things that were lost by reason of the war we had, and they remain with us.

Сихъ u5бо ѓще трeбуете, приносsщихъ вaмъ посли1те.	Wherefore if ye have need thereof, send some to fetch them unto you.

Хотsще u5бо прaздновати њчищeніе, писaхомъ вaмъ: блaгw u5бо сотворитE прaзднующе дни6.	Whereas we then are about to celebrate the purification, we have written unto you, and ye shall do well, if ye keep the same days.

БGъ же сп7сhй вс‰ лю1ди сво‰ и3 воздaвый наслёдіе всBмъ и3 цaрствіе, и3 свzщенство и3 њсвzщeніе,	We hope also, that the God, that delivered all his people, and gave them all an heritage, and the kingdom, and the priesthood, and the sanctuary,

ћкоже њбэщA въ зак0нэ: ўповaемъ бо на бGа, ћкw ск0рw нaсъ поми1луетъ и3 соберeтъ t поднебeсныz въ мёсто с™0е:	as he promised in the law, will shortly have mercy upon us, and gather us together out of every land under heaven into the holy place: for he hath delivered us out of great troubles, and hath purified the place.

и3з8sтъ бо нaсъ t вели1кихъ бёдъ и3 мёсто њчи1сти.	Now as concerning Judas Maccabeus, and his brethren, and the purification of the great temple, and the dedication of the altar,

Дэлa же їyды маккавeа и3 брaтій є3гw2, и3 цeркве вели1кіz њчищeніе, и3 њбновлeніе жeртвенника:	and the wars against Antiochus Epiphanes, and Eupator his son,

є3щe же и3 њ брaнехъ на ґнті0ха є3піфaна и3 сhна є3гw2 є3vпaтора:	and the manifest signs that came from heaven unto those that behaved themselves manfully to their honour for Judaism: so that, being but a few, they overcame the whole country, and chased barbarous multitudes,

и3 њ kвлeнщхъ съ небесE бhвшихъ благомyжествовавшымъ їудeйства рaди любочeстнw, ћкw всю2 странY мaли сyще њпустошaху, и3 вaрварwвъ мн0жество прогонsху,	and recovered again the temple renowned all the world over, and freed the city, and upheld the laws which were going down, the Lord being gracious unto them with all favour:

и3 преслaвную во всeй вселeннэй цeрковь возсоздaша, и3 грaдъ и3збaвиша, и3 хотsщыz разори1тисz зак0ны и3справлsху, гDу со всsкою кр0тостію млcтиву бывaющу и5мъ:	all these things, I say, being declared by Jason of Cyrene in five books, we will assay to abridge in one volume.

±же t їасHна кmрінeа и3звэщє1на пzтію2 кни1гами, покyсимсz є3ди1нымъ сочинeніемъ сократи1ти.	For considering the infinite number, and the difficulty which they find that desire to look into the narrations of the story, for the variety of the matter,

Созерцaюще бо мн0гое число2 (вещeй) и3 сyщее неуд0бство хотsщымъ приступи1ти къ п0вэсти їст0рщ мн0жества рaди веществA,	we have been careful, that they that will read may have delight, and that they that are desirous to commit to memory might have ease, and that all into whose hands it comes might have profit.

попек0хомсz, дабы2 хотsщщ читaти и3мeли души2 ўтэшeніе, любомyдрствующщ же ўд0бэе прщмaли на пaмzть, вси1 же чтyщщ п0льзу.	Therefore to us, that have taken upon us this painful labour of abridging, it was not easy, but a matter of sweat and watching;

И# нaмъ ќбw пріsвшымъ трyдъ сокращeніz неуд0бно, п0та же и3 бдёніz дёло (твори1мъ):	even as it is no ease unto him that prepareth a banquet, and seeketh the benefit of others: yet for the pleasuring of many we will undertake gladly this great pains;

ћкоже ўготовлsющему пи1ръ и3 и4щущему и4ныхъ п0льзы не легко2 ќбw, nбaче за благодарeніе мн0гихъ слaдцэ трyдъ потерпи1мъ.	leaving to the author the exact handling of every particular, and labouring to follow the rules of an abridgement.

И#спhтность ќбw њ кjихждо списaтелю попусти1вше, послёдовати примёру сокращeніz потщи1мсz.	For as the master builder of a new house must care for the whole building: but he that undertaketh to set it out, and paint it, must seek out fit things for the adorning thereof: even so I think it is with us.

Ћкоже бо н0выz хрaмины ґрхітeктону њ всeмъ здaнщ пещи1сz подобaетъ, и3 живописaти начинaющему прили1чныхъ ко ўкрашeнию и3скaти, тaкw мню2 и3 њ нaсъ.	To stand upon every point, and go over things at large, and to be curious in particulars, belongeth to the first author of the story:

Е$же ќбw глубочaе и3спhтовати и3 њ всёхъ твори1ти сл0во и3 любопhтствовати њ к0емждо подр0бну, п0вэсти сочини1телю дост0итъ.	but to use brevity, and avoid much labouring of the work, is to be granted to him that will make an abridgement.

Сокращeнію же рэчeній послёдовати и3 т0нкагw испытaніz вещeй бёгатн, сокращeніе творsщему попущaти д0лжно.	Here then will we begin the story: only adding thus much to that which hath been said, that it is a foolish thing to make a long prologue, and to be short in the story itself.

Tсю1ду ќбw начни1мъ п0вэсть предрэчє1ннымъ толи1ко присовокупи1вше: неразyмно бо предисл0віе їст0рщ ўмножaти, сaмую їст0рію сокращaти.
