Chapter 7	Глава 7

And it came to pass when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him an inheritance on every side free from all his enemies round about him;	Коли цар жив у домі своєму, і Господь заспокоїв його від усіх навколишніх ворогів його,

that the king said to Nathan the prophet, Behold now, I live in a house of cedar, and the ark of the Lord dwells in the midst of a tent.	тоді сказав цар пророку Нафану: ось, я живу в домі кедровому, а ковчег Божий знаходиться під наметом.

And Nathan said to the king, Go and do all that is in thine heart, for the Lord is with thee.	І сказав Нафан царю: усе, що в тебе на серці, йди, роби; бо Господь з тобою.

And it came to pass in that night, that the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying,	Але в ту ж ніч було слово Господа до Нафана:

Go, and say to my servant David, Thus says the Lord, Thou shalt not build me a house for me to dwell in.	йди, скажи рабові Моєму Давиду: так говорить Господь: чи ти побудуєш Мені дім для Мого перебування,

For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt to this day, but I have been walking in a lodge and in a tent,	коли Я не жив у домі з того часу, як вивів синів Ізраїлевих з Єгипту, і до цього дня, але переходив у наметі й у скинії?

wheresoever I went with all Israel. Have I ever spoken to any of the tribes of Israel, which I commanded to tend my people Israel, saying, Why have ye not built me a house of cedar?	Де Я не ходив із усіма синами Ізраїля, чи говорив Я хоча слово якому-небудь з колін, якому Я призначив пасти народ Мій Ізраїля: «чому не побудуєте Мені кедрового дому»?

And now thus shalt thou say to my servant David, Thus says the Lord Almighty, I took thee from the sheep-cote, that thou shouldest be a prince over my people, over Israel.	І тепер так скажи рабові Моєму Давиду: так говорить Господь Саваоф: Я взяв тебе від отари овець, щоб ти був вождем народу Мого, Ізраїля;

And I was with thee wheresoever thou wentest, and I destroyed all thine enemies before thee, and I made thee renowned according to the renown of the great ones on the earth.	і був з тобою скрізь, куди не ходив ти, і знищив усіх ворогів твоїх перед лицем твоїм, і зробив ім’я твоє великим, як ім’я великих на землі.

And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell by themselves, and shall be no more distressed; and the son of iniquity shall no more afflict them, as he has done from the beginning,	І Я влаштую місце для народу Мого, для Ізраїля, й укоріню його, і буде він спокійно жити на місці своєму, і не буде тривожитися більше, і люди нечестиві не стануть більше тіснити його, як колись,

from the days when I appointed judges over my people Israel: and I will give thee rest from all thine enemies, and the Lord will tell thee that thou shalt build a house to him.	з того часу, як Я поставив суддів над народом Моїм, Ізраїлем; і Я заспокою тебе від усіх ворогів твоїх. І Господь сповіщає тобі, що Він влаштує тобі дім.
12	12
And it shall come to pass when thy days shall have been fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, even thine own issue, and I will establish his kingdom.	Коли ж сповняться дні твої, і ти спочинеш з батьками твоїми, то Я поставлю після тебе сíм’я твоє, яке народиться від стегон твоїх, і зміцню царство його.

He shall build for me a house to my name, and I will set up his throne even for ever.	Він побудує дім імені Моєму, і Я утверджу престіл царства його повіки.
14	14
I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son. And when he happens to transgress, then will I chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the sons of men.	Я буду йому батьком, і він буде Мені сином; і якщо він згрішить, Я покараю його жезлом мужів і ударами синів людських;
15	15
But my mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from those whom I removed from my presence.	але милости Моєї не відніму від нього, як Я відняв від Саула, якого Я відкинув перед лицем твоїм.

And his house shall be made sure, and his kingdom for ever before me, and his throne shall be set up for ever.	І буде непохитний дім твій і царство твоє навіки перед лицем Моїм, і престіл твій устоїть повіки.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.	Усі ці слова і все це видіння Нафан переказав Давиду.

And king David came in, and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord, my Lord, and what is my house, that thou hast loved me hitherto?	І пішов цар Давид, і став перед лицем Господа, і сказав: хто я, Господи [мій], Господи, і що таке дім мій, що Ти мене так звеличив!
19	19
Whereas I was very little before thee, O Lord, my Lord, yet thou spokest concerning the house of thy servant for a long time to come. And is this the law of man, O Lord, my Lord?	І цього ще мало здалося в очах Твоїх, Господи мій, Господи; але Ти звістив ще про дім раба Твого в майбутньому. Це вже по-людськи. Господи мій, Господи!
20	20
And what shall David yet say to thee? and now thou knowest thy servant, O Lord, my Lord.	Що ще може сказати Тобі Давид? Ти знаєш раба Твого, Господи мій, Господи!
21	21
And thou hast wrought for thy servant's sake, and according to thy heart thou hast wrought all this greatness, to make it known to thy servant,	Заради слова Твого і за серцем Твоїм Ти робиш це, відкриваючи все це велике рабові Твоєму.
22	22
that he may magnify thee, O my Lord; for there is no one like thee, and there is no God but thou among all of whom we have heard with our ears.	В усьому великий Ти, Господи мій, Господи! бо немає подібного Тобі і немає Бога, крім Тебе, в усьому, що чули ми своїми вухами.
23	23
And what other nation in the earth is as thy people Israel? whereas God was his guide, to redeem for himself a people to make thee a name, to do mightily and nobly, so that thou shouldest cast out nations and their tabernacles from the presence of thy people, whom thou didst redeem for thyself out of Egypt?	І хто подібний до народу Твого, Ізраїля, єдиного народу на Землі, заради якого приходив Бог, щоб придбати його Собі за народ і прославити Своє ім’я і звершити велике і страшне перед народом Твоїм, який Ти придбав Собі від єгиптян, вигнавши народи і богів їхніх?

And thou hast prepared for thyself thy people Israel to be a people for ever, and thou, Lord, art become their God.	І Ти укріпив за Собою народ Твій, Ізраїля, як власний народ, навіки, і Ти, Господи, зробився його Богом.
25	25
And now, O my Lord, the Almighty Lord God of Israel, confirm the word for ever which thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and his house: and now as thou hast said,	І нині, Господи Боже, утверди повіки слово, яке промовив Ти про раба Твого і про дім його, і виконай те, що Ти промовив.
26	26
Let thy name be magnified for ever.	І нехай звеличиться ім’я Твоє повіки, щоб говорили: «Господь Саваоф — Бог над Ізраїлем». І дім раба Твого Давида нехай буде міцним перед лицем Твоїм.
27	27
Almighty Lord God of Israel, thou hast uncovered the ear of thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house: therefore thy servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to thee.	Оскільки ти, Господи Саваофе, Боже Ізраїлів, відкрив рабові Твоєму, говорячи: «влаштую тобі дім», то раб Твій уготував серце своє, щоб молитися Тобі такою молитвою.

And now, O Lord my Lord, thou art God; and thy words will be true, and thou hast spoken these good things concerning thy servant.	Отже, Господи мій, Господи! Ти Бог, і слова Твої непорушні, і Ти звістив рабові Твоєму таке благо!
29	29
And now begin and bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee; for thou, O Lord, my Lord, hast spoken, and the house of thy servant shall be blessed with thy blessing so as to continue for ever.	І нині почни і благослови дім раба Твого, щоб він був вічно перед лицем Твоїм, бо Ти, Господи мій, Господи, звістив це, і благословенням Твоїм стане дім раба Твого благословенним, [щоб бути йому перед Тобою] повіки.
