There was a certain man in the land of Ausis, whose name was Job; and that man was true, blameless, righteous, and godly, abstaining from everything evil. And he had seven sons and three daughters.	Бhша же є3мY сhнове сeдмь и3 дщє1ри три2.

And his cattle consisted of seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred she-asses in the pastures, and a very great household, and he had a great husbandry on the earth; and that man was most noble of the men of the east.	И# бsху ск0ти є3гw2, nвeцъ сeдмь тhсzщъ, велблю1дwвъ три2 тhсzщы, супр{гъ волHвъ пsть сHтъ, и3 nсли1цъ пас0мыхъ пsть сHтъ, и3 слyгъ мн0гw ѕэлw2, и3 дэлA вє1ліz бsху є3мY на земли2: и3 бЁ человёкъ џный благор0днэйшій сyщихъ t востHкъ с0лнца.

And his sons visiting one another prepared a banquet every day, taking with them also their three sisters to eat and drink with them.	Сходsщесz же сhнове є3гw2 дрyгъ ко дрyгу, творsху пи1ръ на кjйждо дeнь, споeмлюще вкyпэ и3 три2 сєстры2 сво‰, ћсти и3 пи1ти съ ни1ми.

And when the days of the banquet were completed, Job sent and purified them, having risen up in the morning, and offered sacrifices for them, according to their number, and one calf for a sin-offering for their souls: for Job said, Lest peradventure my sons have thought evil in their minds against God. Thus then Job did continually.	И# є3гдA скончавaшесz днjе пи1ра, посылaше јwвъ и3 њчищaше и5хъ, востаS заyтра, и3 приношaше њ ни1хъ жє1ртвы по числY и4хъ, и3 телцA є3ди1наго њ грэсЁ њ душaхъ и4хъ. Глаг0лаше бо јwвъ: нeгли когдA сhнове мои2 согрэши1ша и3 въ мhсли своeй ѕл†z помhслиша проти1ву бGа; тaкw u5бо творsше јwвъ вс‰ дни6.

And it came to pass on a day, that, behold, the angels of God came to stand before the Lord, and the devil came with them.	И# бhсть ћкw дeнь сeй, и3 сE, пріид0ша ѓгGли б9іи предстaти пред8 гDемъ, и3 діaволъ пріи1де съ ни1ми.

And the Lord said to the devil, Whence art thou come? And the devil answered the Lord, and said, I am come from compassing the earth, and walking up and down in the world.	И# речE гDь діaволу: tкyду пришeлъ є3си2; и3 tвэщaвъ діaволъ гDеви, речE: њбшeдъ зeмлю и3 прошeдъ поднебeсную, сE, є4смь.

And the Lord said to him, Hast thou diligently considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a man blameless, true, godly, abstaining from everything evil?	И# речE є3мY гDь: внsлъ ли є3си2 мhслію твоeю на рабA моего2 јwва; занE нёсть ћкw џнъ на земли2: человёкъ непор0ченъ, и4стиненъ, бGочести1въ, ўдалszсz t всsкіz лукaвыz вeщи.

Then the devil answered, and said before the Lord, Does Job worship the Lord for nothing?	Tвэщa же діaволъ и3 речE пред8 гDемъ:

Hast thou not made a hedge about him, and about his household, and all his possessions round about? and hast thou not blessed the works of his hands, and multiplied his cattle upon the land?	є3дA тyне јwвъ чти1тъ гDа; не тh ли њгради1лъ є3си2 внBшнzz є3гw2 и3 внyтрєннzz д0му є3гw2, и3 ±же внЁ всёхъ сyщихъ є3гw2 w4крестъ; дэлa же рукY є3гw2 блгcви1лъ є3си2 и3 скоты2 є3гw2 мнHги сотвори1лъ є3си2 на земли2:

But put forth thine hand, and touch all that he has: verily he will bless thee to thy face.	но посли2 рyку твою2 и3 косни1сz всёхъ, ±же и4мать, ѓще не въ лицe тz благослови1тъ,

Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give into thine hand all that he has, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord.	ТогдA речE гDь діaволу: сE, вс‰, є3ли6ка сyть є3мY, даю2 въ рyку твою2, но самогw2 да не к0снешисz. И# и3зhде діaволъ t гDа.

And it came to pass on a certain day, that Job's sons and his daughters were drinking wine in the house of their elder brother.	И# бhсть ћкw дeнь сeй, сhнове јwвлєвы и3 дщє1ри є3гw2 піsху віно2 въ домY брaта своегw2 старёйшагw.

And, behold, there came a messenger to Job, and said to him, The yokes of oxen were ploughing, and the she-asses were feeding near them;	И# сE, вёстникъ пріи1де ко јwву и3 речE є3мY: супрyзи волHвъ њрsху, и3 nсли6цы пасsхусz бли1з8 и4хъ:

and the spoilers came and took them for a prey, and slew the servants with the sword; and I having escaped alone am come to tell thee.	и3 пришeдше плэни1теліе плэни1ша и5хъ и3 џтроки и3зби1ша мечeмъ, и3 спас0хсz ѓзъ є3ди1нъ и3 пріид0хъ возвэсти1ти тебЁ.

While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, Fire has fallen from heaven, and burnt up the sheep, and devoured the shepherds likewise; and I having escaped alone am come to tell thee.	Е#щE семY глаг0лющу, пріи1де и4нъ вёстникъ и3 речE ко јwву: џгнь спадE съ небесE и3 пожжE џвцы и3 п†стыри поzдE под0бнэ, спас0хсz же ѓзъ є3ди1нъ и3 пріид0хъ возвэсти1ти тебЁ.

While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, The horsemen formed three companies against us, and surrounded the camels, and took them for a prey, and slew the servants with the sword; and I only escaped, and am come to tell thee.	Е#щE семY глаг0лющу, пріи1де и4нъ вёстникъ и3 речE ко јwву: кHнницы сотвори1ша нач†лства три2 и3 њкружи1ша велблю1ды и3 плэни1ша и5хъ и3 џтроки и3зби1ша мечьми2, спас0хсz же ѓзъ є3ди1нъ и3 пріид0хъ возвэсти1ти тебЁ.

While he is yet speaking, another messenger comes, saying to Job, While thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking with their elder brother,	Е#щE семY глаг0лющу, и4нъ вёстникъ пріи1де, глаг0лz јwву: сынHмъ твои6мъ и3 дщeремъ твои6мъ kдyщымъ и3 пію1щымъ ў брaта своегw2 старёйшагw,

suddenly a great wind came on from the desert, and caught the four corners of the house, and the house fell upon thy children, and they are dead; and I have escaped alone, and am come to tell thee.	внезaпу вётръ вели1къ нaйде t пустhни и3 коснyсz четhремъ ўглHмъ хрaмины, и3 падE хрaмина на дёти тво‰, и3 скончaшасz: спас0хсz же ѓзъ є3ди1нъ и3 пріид0хъ возвэсти1ти тебЁ.

So Job arose, and rent his garments, and shaved the hair of his head, and fell on the earth, and worshipped,	Тaкw (ўслhшавъ) јwвъ, востaвъ растерзA ри6зы сво‰ и3 њстрижE власы2 главы2 своеS, (и3 посhпа пeрстію главY свою2,) и3 пaдъ на зeмлю, поклони1сz (гDеви)

and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.	и3 речE: сaмъ нaгъ и3зыд0хъ t чрeва мaтере моеS, нaгъ и3 tидY тaмw: гDь дадE, гDь tsтъ: ћкw гDеви и3зв0лисz, тaкw бhсть: бyди и4мz гDне блгcвeно (во вёки).

In all these events that befel him Job sinned not at all before the Lord, and did not impute folly to God.	Во всёхъ си1хъ приключи1вшихсz є3мY ничт0же согрэши2 јwвъ пред8 гDемъ, (нижE ўстнaма свои1ма,) и3 не дадE безyміz бGу.

And it came to pass on a certain day, that the angels of God came to stand before the Lord, and the devil came among them to stand before the Lord.	Бhсть же ћкw дeнь сeй, и3 пріид0ша ѓгGли б9іи предстaти пред8 гDемъ, и3 діaволъ пріи1де посредЁ и4хъ предстaти пред8 гDемъ.

And the Lord said to the devil, Whence comest thou? Then the devil said before the Lord, I am come from going through the world, and walking about the whole earth.	И# речE гDь діaволу: tкyду ты2 грzдeши; тогдA речE діaволъ пред8 гDемъ: прошeдъ поднебeсную и3 њбшeдъ всю2 зeмлю, пріид0хъ.

And the Lord said to the devil, Hast thou then observed my servant Job, that there is none of men upon the earth like him, a harmless, true, blameless, godly man, abstaining from all evil? and he yet cleaves to innocence, whereas thou hast told me to destroy his substance without cause?	И# речE гDь ко діaволу: внsлъ ли є3си2 u5бо (мhслію твоeю) рабY моемY јwву; ћкw нёсть таковA t сyщихъ на земли2: человёкъ неѕл0бивъ, и4стиненъ, непор0ченъ, бGочести1въ, ўдалszсz t всsкагw ѕлA, є3щe же придержи1тсz неѕл0біz: тh же рeклъ є3си2 и3мBніz є3гw2 погуби1ти вотщE.

And the devil answered and said to the Lord, Skin for skin, all that a man has will he give as a ransom for his life.	Tвэщaвъ же діaволъ гDеви, речE: к0жу за к0жу, и3 вс‰, є3ли6ка и4мать человёкъ, дaстъ за дyшу свою2:

Nay, but put forth thine hand, and touch his bones and his flesh: verily he will bless thee to thy face.	nбaче посли2 рyку твою2 и3 косни1сz костeмъ є3гw2 и3 пл0ти є3гw2, ѓще не въ лицe тz благослови1тъ.

And the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I deliver him up to thee; only save his life.	Речe же гDь діaволу: сE, предаю2 ти2 є3го2, т0кмw дyшу є3гw2 соблюди2.

So the devil went out from the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from his feet to his head.	И#зhде же діaволъ t лицA гDнz и3 порази2 јwва гн0емъ лю1тымъ t ногY дaже до главы2.

And he took a potsherd to scrape away the discharge, and sat upon a dung-heap outside the city.	И# взS (јwвъ) чрeпъ, да њстрогaетъ гн0й св0й, и3 т0й сэдsше на гн0ищи внЁ грaда.

And when much time had passed, his wife said to him, How long wilt thou hold out, saying,	Врeмени же мн0гу минyвшу, речE къ немY женA є3гw2: док0лэ терпи1ши глаг0лz: сE, пождY врeмz є3щE мaло, чaz надeжди спасeніz моегw2; сe бо, потреби1сz t земли2 пaмzть твоS, сhнове твои2 и3 дщє1ри, моегw2 чрeва болBзни и3 труды2, и4миже вотщE труди1хсz съ болёзньми: тh же сaмъ въ гнои2 червeй сэди1ши, њбнощевaz внЁ без8 покр0ва, и3 ѓзъ скитaющисz и3 служaщи, мёсто t мёста преходsщи, и3 д0мъ t д0му, њжидaющи с0лнца, когдA зaйдетъ, да почjю t трудHвъ мои1хъ и3 t болёзней, ±же мS нн7э њбдержaтъ: но рцы2 глаг0лъ нёкій ко гDу и3 ўмри2.

Behold, I wait yet a little while, expecting the hope of my deliverance?

for, behold, thy memorial is abolished from the earth, even thy sons and daughters, the pangs and pains of my womb which I bore in vain with sorrows;

and thou thyself sittest down to spend the nights in the open air among the corruption of worms,
9d
and I am a wanderer and a servant from place to place and house to house, waiting for the setting of the sun, that I may rest from my labours and my pangs which now beset me:

but say some word against the Lord, and die.

But he looked on her, and said to her, Thou hast spoken like one of the foolish women. If we have received good things of the hand of the Lord, shall we not endure evil things? In all these things that happened to him, Job sinned not at all with his lips before God.	Џнъ же воззрёвъ речE къ нeй: вскyю ћкw є3ди1на t безyмныхъ жeнъ возглаг0лала є3си2; ѓще бlг†z пріsхомъ t руки2 гDни, ѕлhхъ ли не стерпи1мъ; во всёхъ си1хъ приключи1вшихсz є3мY, ничи1мже согрэши2 јwвъ ўстнaма пред8 бGомъ (и3 не дадE безyміz бGу).

Now his three friends having heard of all the evil that was come upon him, came to him each from his own country: Eliphaz the king of the Thæmans, Baldad sovereign of the Saucheans, Sophar king of the Minæans: and they came to him with one accord, to comfort and to visit him.	Ўслhшавше же тріE дрyзіе є3гw2 вс‰ ѕл†z нашє1дшаz нaнь, пріид0ша кjйждо t своеS страны2 къ немY: є3ліфaзъ fемaнскій цaрь, валдaдъ саvхeйскій власти1тель, сwфaръ мінeйскій цaрь: и3 пріид0ша къ немY є3динодyшнw ўтёшити и3 посэти1ти є3го2.

And when they saw him from a distance they did not know him; and they cried with a loud voice, and wept, and rent every one his garment, and sprinkled dust upon their heads,	Ўви1дэвше же є3го2 и3здалeча, не познaша, и3 возопи1вше глaсомъ вeліимъ восплaкашасz, растерзaвше кjйждо nдeжду свою2 и3 посhпавше пeрстію главы6 сво‰:

and they sat down beside him seven days and seven nights, and no one of them spoke; for they saw that his affliction was dreadful and very great.	сэдёша при нeмъ сeдмь днjй и3 сeдмь нощeй, и3 никт0же t ни1хъ возглаг0ла къ немY словесE: ви1дzху бо ћзву лю1ту сyщу и3 вели1ку ѕэлw2.
Chapter 3	Главa G

After this Job opened his mouth, and cursed his day,	Посeмъ tвeрзе јwвъ ўстA сво‰ и3 проклS дeнь св0й,

saying,	глаг0лz:

Let the day perish in which I was born, and that night in which they said, Behold a man-child!	да поги1бнетъ дeнь, въ џньже роди1хсz, и3 н0щь џнаz, въ ню1же рёша: сE, мyжескъ п0лъ:

Let that night be darkness, and let not the Lord regard it from above, neither let light come upon it.	тA н0щь бyди тмA, и3 да не взhщетъ є3S гDь свhше, нижE да пріи1детъ на ню2 свётъ,
5	5
But let darkness and the shadow of death seize it; let blackness come upon it;	и3 да пріи1метъ ю5 тмA и3 сёнь смeртнаz, да пріи1детъ на ню2 сумрaкъ: пр0клzтъ бyди дeнь т0й

let that day and night be cursed, let darkness carry them away; let it not come into the days of the year, neither let it be numbered with the days of the months.	и3 н0щь џнаz: да пости1гнетъ ю5 тмA, да не бyдетъ во днeхъ лёта, нижE да вчи1слитсz во днeхъ мцcей:

But let that night be pain, and let not mirth come upon it, nor joy.	но н0щь џнаz да бyдетъ болёзнь, и3 да не пріи1детъ на ню2 весeліе и3 рaдость,

But let him that curses that day curse it, even he that is ready to attack the great whale.	но да прокленeтъ ю5 проклинazй т0й дeнь, и4же и4мать њдолёти вели1каго ки1та:

Let the stars of that night be darkened; let it remain dark, and not come into light; and let it not see the morning star arise:	да помeркнутъ ѕвёзды тоS н0щи, да њжидaетъ и3 на свётъ да не пріи1детъ, и3 да не ви1дитъ денни1цы возсіzвaющіz,

because it shut not up the gates of my mother's womb, for so it would have removed sorrow from my eyes.	ћкw не затвори2 врaтъ чрeва мaтере моеS: tsла бо бы2 болёзнь t џчію моє1ю:

For why died I not in the belly? and why did I not come forth from the womb and die immediately?	почт0 бо во ўтр0бэ не ўмр0хъ; и3з8 чрeва же и3зшeдъ, и3 ѓбіе не погиб0хъ;

And why did the knees support me? and why did I suck the breasts?	почт0 же мS пріsша на кwлёна; почт0 же ссaхъ сосц†;

Now I should have lain down and been quiet, I should have slept and been at rest,	нн7э ќбw ўснyвъ ўмолчaлъ бhхъ, ўснyвъ же почи1лъ бhхъ

with kings and councillors of the earth, who gloried in their swords;	со царьми2 и3 совBтники земли2, и5же хвалsхусz nр{жіи,

or with rulers, whose gold was abundant, who filled their houses with silver:	и3ли2 со кн‰зи, и5мже мн0гw злaта, и5же нап0лниша д0мы сво‰ сребрA,

or I should have been as an untimely birth proceeding from his mother's womb, or as infants who never saw light.	и3ли2 ћкоже и4звергъ и3злaзzй и3з8 ложeснъ мaтернихъ, и3ли2 ћкоже младeнцы, и5же не ви1дэша свёта:

There the ungodly have burnt out the fury of rage; there the wearied in body rest.	тaмw нечести1віи ўтоли1ша ћрость гнёва, тaмw почи1ша претруждeнніи тёломъ,

And the men of old time have together ceased to hear the exactor's voice.	вкyпэ же въ вёцэ сeмъ бhвшіи не слhшатъ глaса собирaющагw дaнь:

The small and great are there, and the servant that feared his lord.	мaлъ и3 вели1къ тaмw є4сть, и3 рaбъ не боsйсz господи1на своегw2:

For why is light given to those who are in bitterness, and life to the souls which are in griefs?	почт0 бо дaнъ є4сть сyщымъ въ г0рести свётъ и3 сyщымъ въ болёзнехъ душaмъ жив0тъ,

who desire death, and obtain it not, digging for it as for treasures;	и5же желaютъ смeрти и3 не получaютъ, и4щуще ћкоже сокр0вища,

and would be very joyful if they should gain it?	њбрaдовани же бывaютъ, ѓще ўлучaтъ (смeрть);

Death is rest to such a man, for God has hedged him in.	смeрть бо мyжу пок0й, є3гHже пyть сокровeнъ є4сть, затвори1 бо бGъ w4крестъ є3гw2:

For my groaning comes before my food, and I weep being beset with terror.	прeжде бо брaшенъ мои1хъ воздыхaніе ми2 прих0дитъ, слезю1 же ѓзъ њдержи1мь стрaхомъ,

For the terror of which I meditated has come upon me, and that which I had feared has befallen me.	стрaхъ бо, є3гHже ўжасaхсz, пріи1де ми2, и3 є3гHже боsхсz, срёте мS:

I was not at peace, nor quiet, nor had I rest; yet wrath came upon me.	ни ўмири1хсz, нижE ўмолчaхъ, нижE почи1хъ, и3 нaйде ми2 гнёвъ.
Chapter 4	Главa д7

Then Eliphaz the Thæmanite answered and said,	Tвэщa же є3ліфaзъ fеманjтинъ, глаг0лz:

Hast thou been often spoken to in distress? but who shall endure the force of thy words?	є3дA мн0жицею глаг0лано ти2 бhсть въ трудЁ; тsжести же глагHлъ твои1хъ кто2 стерпи1тъ;

For whereas thou hast instructed many, and hast strengthened the hands of the weak one,	ѓще бо ты2 научи1лъ є3си2 мнHги и3 рyцэ немощнhхъ ўтёшилъ є3си2,
4	4
and hast supported the failing with words, and hast imparted courage to feeble knees.	немwщнhz же воздви1глъ є3си2 словесы2, колёнwмъ же немwщнhмъ си1лу њбложи1лъ є3си2.

Yet now that pain has come upon thee, and touched thee, thou art troubled.	Нн7э же пріи1де на тS болёзнь и3 коснyсz тебє2, тh же возмути1лсz є3си2.

Is not thy fear founded in folly, thy hope also, and the mischief of thy way?	Е#дA стрaхъ тв0й є4сть не въ безyміи, и3 надeжда твоS и3 ѕл0ба пути2 твоегw2;

Remember then who has perished, being pure? or when were the true-hearted utterly destroyed?	Помzни2 u5бо, кто2 чи1стъ сhй поги1бе; и3ли2 когдA и4стинніи вси2 и3з8 к0рене погиб0ша;

Accordingly as I have seen men ploughing barren places, and they that sow them will reap sorrows for themselves.	Ћкоже ви1дэхъ њрю1щихъ неподHбнаz, сёющіи же \| бwлёзни п0жнутъ себЁ,

They shall perish by the command of the Lord, and shall be utterly consumed by the breath of his wrath.	t повелёніz гDнz поги1бнутъ, t д¦а же гнёва є3гw2 и3зчeзнутъ.

The strength of the lion, and the voice of the lioness, and the exulting cry of serpents are quenched.	Си1ла льв0ва, глaсъ же льви1цы, весeліе же ѕміє1въ ўгасE:

The old lion has perished for want of food, and the lions' whelps have forsaken one another.	мраволeвъ поги1бе, занeже не и3мёzше брaшна, скЂмни же львHвы њстaвиша дрyгъ дрyгу.

But if there had been any truth in thy words, none of these evils would have befallen thee. Shall not mine ear receive excellent revelations from him?	Ѓще же глаг0лъ кjй и4стиненъ бЁ во словесёхъ твои1хъ, ни к0еже бы2 t си1хъ тS срётило ѕло2. не пріи1метъ ли ќхо моE преди1вныхъ t негw2;

But as when terror falls upon men, with dread and a sound in the night,	Стрaхомъ же и3 глaсомъ нощнhмъ, напaдающь стрaхъ на человёки,

horror and trembling seized me, and caused all my bones greatly to shake.	ќжасъ же мS срёте и3 трeпетъ, и3 ѕэлw2 кHсти мо‰ стрzсE:

And a spirit came before my face; and my hair and flesh quivered.	и3 дyхъ на лицe ми нaйде: ўстраши1шасz же ми2 власи2 и3 плHти,

I arose and perceived it not: I looked, and there was no form before my eyes: but I only heard a breath and a voice, saying,	востaхъ и3 не разумёхъ, ви1дэхъ, и3 не бЁ њбли1чіz пред8 nчи1ма мои1ма, но т0кмw дyхъ ти1хъ и3 глaсъ слhшахъ:

What, shall a mortal be pure before the Lord? or a man be blameless in regard to his works?	чт0 бо; є3дA чи1стъ бyдетъ человёкъ пред8 бGомъ; и3ли2 въ дёлэхъ свои1хъ без8 пор0ка мyжъ;

Whereas he trusts not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels.	ѓще рабHмъ свои6мъ не вёруетъ, и3 во ѓгGлэхъ свои1хъ стр0потно что2 ўсмотрЁ,

But as for them that dwell in houses of clay, of whom we also are formed of the same clay, he smites them like a moth.	живyщихъ же въ брeнныхъ хрaминахъ, t ни1хже и3 мы2 сaми t тогHжде брeніz є3смы2, порази2, ћкоже м0ліе,

And from morning to evening they no longer exist: they have perished, because they cannot help themselves.	и3 t ќтра дaже до вeчера ктомY не сyть: занeже не мог0ша себЁ помощи2, погиб0ша:

But call, if any one will hearken to thee, or if thou shalt see any of the holy angels.	Призови1 же, ѓще кт0 тz ўслhшитъ, и3ли2 ѓще кого2 t с™hхъ ѓгGлъ ќзриши.

For wrath destroys the foolish one, and envy slays him that has gone astray.	Безyмнаго бо ўбивaетъ гнёвъ, заблyждшаго же ўмерщвлsетъ рвeніе.

And I have seen foolish ones taking root: but suddenly their habitation was devoured.	Ѓзъ же ви1дэхъ безyмныхъ ўкоренsющихсz, но ѓбіе поzдeно бhсть и4хъ жили1ще.

Let their children be far from safety, and let them be crushed at the doors of vile men, and let there be no deliverer.	Далeче да бyдутъ сhнове и4хъ t спасeніz, и3 да сотрyтсz при двeрехъ хyждшихъ, и3 не бyдетъ и3з8имazй.

For what they have collected, the just shall eat; but they shall not be delivered out of calamities: let their strength be utterly exhausted.	Я%же бо nни2 собрaша, првdницы поzдsтъ, сaми же t ѕHлъ не и3з8sти бyдутъ: и3змождeнна бyди крёпость и4хъ.

For labour cannot by any means come out of the earth, nor shall trouble spring out of the mountains:	Не и4мать бо t земли2 и3зhти трyдъ, ни t г0ръ прозsбнути болёзнь:

yet man is born to labour, and even so the vulture's young seek the high places.	но человёкъ раждaетсz на трyдъ, птенцh же сyпwвы выс0кw парsтъ.

Nevertheless I will beseech the Lord, and will call upon the Lord, the sovereign of all;	Nбaче же ѓзъ помолю1сz бGови, гDа же всёхъ вLку призовY,

who does great things and untraceable, glorious things also, and marvellous, of which there is no number:	творsщаго вє1ліz и3 неизслBдимаz, сл†внаz же и3 и3зр‰днаz, и5мже нёсть числA:
10	10
who gives rain upon the earth, sending water on the earth:	даю1щаго д0ждь на зeмлю, посылaющаго в0ду на поднебeсную:

who exalts the lowly, and raises up them that are lost:	возносsщаго смирє1нныz на высотY и3 поги1бшыz воздвизaющаго во спасeніе:

frustrating the counsels of the crafty, and their hands shall not perform the truth:	расточaющаго совёты лукaвыхъ, да не сотворsтъ рyцэ и4хъ и4стины.

who takes the wise in their wisdom, and subverts the counsel of the crafty.	Ўловлszй премyдрыхъ въ мyдрости и4хъ, совётъ же ковaрныхъ разори2.

In the day darkness shall come upon them, and let them grope in the noon-day even as in the night:	Во дни2 њбhметъ и5хъ тмA, въ полyдне же да њсsжутъ ћкоже въ нощи2,

and let them perish in war, and let the weak escape from the hand of the mighty.	и3 да поги1бнутъ на брaни: немощнhй же да и3зhдетъ и3з8 руки2 си1льнагw.

And let the weak have hope, but the mouth of the unjust be stopped.	Бyди же немощн0му надeжда, непрaведнагw же ўстA да заградsтсz.

But blessed is the man whom the Lord has reproved; and reject not thou the chastening of the Almighty.	Блажeнъ же человёкъ, є3г0же њбличи2 бGъ, наказaніz же вседержи1телева не tвращaйсz:

For he causes a man to be in pain, and restores him again: he smites, and his hands heal.	т0й бо болёти твори1тъ и3 пaки возставлsетъ: порази2, и3 рyцэ є3гw2 и3зцэлsтъ:

Six times he shall deliver thee out of distresses: and in the seventh harm shall not touch thee.	шести1жды t бёдъ и4зметъ тS, въ седмёмъ же не к0снеттисz ѕло2:

In famine he shall deliver thee from death: and in war he shall free thee from the power of the sword.	во глaдэ и3збaвитъ тS t смeрти, на брaни же и3з8 руки2 желёза и3зрэши1тъ тS:

He shall hide thee from the scourge of the tongue: and thou shalt not be afraid of coming evils.	t бичA љзhка скрhетъ тS, и3 не ўбои1шисz t ѕHлъ находsщихъ:

Thou shalt laugh at the unrighteous and the lawless: and thou shalt not be afraid of wild beasts.	непрaвєднымъ и3 беззакHннымъ посмэeшисz, t ди1віихъ же ѕвэрeй не ўбои1шисz,

For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.	занE съ кaменіемъ ди1віимъ завётъ тв0й: ѕвёріе бо ди1віи примирsтсz тебЁ.

Then shalt thou know that thy house shall be at peace, and the provision for thy tabernacle shall not fail.	Пот0мъ ўразумёеши, ћкw въ ми1рэ бyдетъ д0мъ тв0й, жили1ще же хрaмины твоеS не и4мать согрэши1ти:

And thou shalt know that thy seed shall be abundant; and thy children shall be like the herbage of the field.	ўразумёеши же, ћкw мн0го сёмz твоE, и3 ч†да тво‰ бyдутъ ћкw вeсь ѕлaкъ сeлный:

And thou shalt come to the grave like ripe corn reaped in its season, or as a heap of the corn-flour collected in proper time.	вни1деши же во гр0бъ ћкоже пшени1ца созрёлаz во врeмz пожaтаz, и3ли2 ћкоже ст0гъ гумнA во врeмz свезeнный.

Behold, we have thus sought out these matters; these are what we have heard: but do thou reflect with thyself, if thou hast done anything wrong.	СE, сі‰ си1це и3зслёдихомъ: сі‰ сyть, ±же слhшахомъ: тh же разумёй себЁ, ѓще что2 сотвори1лъ є3си2.

But Job answered and said,	Tвэщaвъ же јwвъ, речE:

Oh that one would indeed weigh the wrath that is upon me, and take up my griefs in a balance together!	ѓще бы кто2 вёсz и3звёсилъ гнёвъ м0й, бwлёзни же мо‰ взsлъ бы на мёрило вкyпэ,

And verily they would be heavier than the sand by the seashore: but, as it seems, my words are vain.	то2 пескA морскaгw тzжчaйшіи бhли бы: но, ћкоже мни1тсz, словесA мо‰ ѕл† сyть.

For the arrows of the Lord are in my body, whose violence drinks up my blood: whenever I am going to speak, they pierce me.	Стрёлы бо гDни въ тёлэ моeмъ сyть, и4хже ћрость и3спивaетъ кр0вь мою2: є3гдA начнY глаг0лати, бодyтъ мS.

What then? will the wild ass bray for nothing, if he is not seeking food? or again, will the ox low at the manger, when he has fodder?	Чт0 бо; є3дA вотщE возревeтъ ди1вій nсeлъ, рaзвэ бр†шна просS; и3ли2 возревeтъ глaсомъ в0лъ, въ ћслехъ и3мёzй брaшно;

Shall bread be eaten without salt? or again, is there taste in empty words?	Снёстсz ли хлёбъ без8 с0ли; и3ли2 є4сть вкyсъ во тщи1хъ словесёхъ;

For my wrath cannot cease; for I perceive my food as the smell of a lion to be loathsome.	Не м0жетъ бо ўтиши1тисz душA моS: смрaдъ бо зрю2 бр†шна мо‰, ћкоже воню2 льв0ву.

For oh that he would grant my desire, and my petition might come, and the Lord would grant my hope!	Ѓще бо дaлъ бы, да пріи1детъ прошeніе моE, и3 надeжду мою2 дaлъ бы гDь.
9	9
Let the Lord begin and wound me, but let him not utterly destroy me.	Начeнъ гDь да ўzзвлsетъ мS, до концa же да не ўбіeтъ мS.
10	10
Let the grave be my city, upon the walls of which I have leaped: I will not shrink from it; for I have not denied the holy words of my God.	Бyди же ми2 грaдъ гр0бъ, на є3гHже стэнaхъ скакaхъ въ нeмъ: не пощажY: не солгaхъ бо во словесёхъ с™hхъ бGа моегw2.

For what is my strength, that I continue? what is my time, that my soul endures?	Кaz бо крёпость моS, ћкw терплю2; и3ли2 к0е ми2 врeмz, ћкw терпи1тъ моS душA;

Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?	є3дA крёпость кaменіz крёпость моS; и3ли2 плHти мо‰ сyть мBдzны;

Or have I not trusted in him? but help is far from me.	и3ли2 не ўповaхъ на него2; п0мощь же t менє2 tступи2,

Mercy has rejected me; and the visitation of the Lord has disregarded me.	tречeсz t менє2 ми1лость, посэщeніе же гDне презрё мz.

My nearest relations have not regarded me; they have passed me by like a failing brook, or like a wave.	Не воззрёша на мS бли1жніи мои2: ћкоже пот0къ њскудэвazй, и3ли2 ћкоже вHлны преид0ша мS:

They who used to reverence me, now have come against me like snow or congealed ice.	и5же менє2 боsхусz, нн7э напад0ша на мS:

When it has melted at the approach of heat, it is not known what it was.	ћкоже снёгъ и3ли2 лeдъ смeрзлый, є3гдA и3стaетъ теплотЁ бhвшей, не ктомY познавaетсz, что2 бЁ:

Thus I also have been deserted of all; and I am ruined, and become an outcast.	тaкw и3 ѓзъ њстaвленъ є4смь t всёхъ, погиб0хъ же и3 безд0мокъ бhхъ:

Behold the ways of the Thæmanites, ye that mark the paths of the Sabæans.	ви1дите пути6 fем†нскіz, на стєзи2 савw6нскіz смотрsщіи,

They too that trust in cities and riches shall come to shame.	и3 студA и3сп0лнени бyдутъ на грaды и3 на и3мBніz надёющіисz.

But ye also have come to me without pity; so that beholding my wound ye are afraid.	Нн7э же и3 вы2 наид0сте на мS неми1лостивнw: u5бо ви1дэвше м0й стрyпъ ўб0йтесz.

What? have I made any demand of you? or do I ask for strength from you,	Чт0 бо; є3дA что2 ў вaсъ проси1хъ, и3ли2 вaшеz крёпости трeбую,

to deliver me from enemies, or to rescue me from the hand of the mighty ones?	да спасeте мS t врагHвъ, и3ли2 и3з8 руки2 си1льныхъ и3збaвите мS;

Teach ye me, and I will be silent: if in anything I have erred, tell me.	Научи1те мS, ѓзъ же ўмолчY: ѓще что2 погрэши1хъ, скажи1те ми2.

But as it seems, the words of a true man are vain, because I do not ask strength of you.	Но, ћкоже мни1тсz, ѕл† (сyть) мyжа и4стиннагw словесA, не t вaсъ бо крёпости прошY:

Neither will your reproof cause me to cease my words, for neither will I endure the sound of your speech.	нижE њбличeніе вaше словесы2 мS ўтоли1тъ, нижe бо вэщaніz вaшегw словeсъ стерплю2.

Even because ye attack the fatherless, and insult your friend.	Nбaче ћкw на си1ра напaдаете, наскaчете же на дрyга вaшего.

But now, having looked upon your countenances, I will not lie.	Нн7э же воззрёвъ на ли1ца в†ша, не солжY.

Sit down now, and let there not be unrighteousness; and unite again with the just.	Сsдите нн7э, и3 да не бyдетъ непрaведно, и3 пaки ко прaведному сни1дитесz.

For there is no injustice in my tongue; and does not my throat meditate understanding?	И$бо нёсть въ љзhцэ моeмъ непрaвды, и3 гортaнь м0йне рaзуму ли поучaетсz;

Is not the life of man upon earth a state of trial? and his existence as that of a hireling by the day?	Не и3скушeніе ли житіE человёку на земли2, и3 ћкоже наeмника повседнeвнагw жи1знь є3гw2;

Or as a servant that fears his master, and one who has grasped a shadow? or as a hireling waiting for his pay?	и3ли2 ћкоже рaбъ боsйсz гDа своегw2 и3 ўлучи1въ сёнь; и3ли2 ћкоже наeмникъ ждhй мзды2 своеS;

So have I also endured months of vanity, and nights of pain have been appointed me.	тaкожде и3 ѓзъ ждaхъ мцcы тщы2, нHщи же болёзней даны2 ми2 сyть.

Whenever I lie down, I say, When will it be day? and whenever I rise up, again I say when will it be evening? and I am full of pains from evening to morning.	Ѓще ўснY, глаг0лю: когдA дeнь; є3гдa же востaну, пaки: когдA вeчеръ; и3сп0лненъ же бывaю болёзней t вeчера до ќтра.

And my body is covered with loathsome worms; and I waste away, scraping off clods of dust from my eruption.	Мёситсz же моE тёло въ гнои2 червeй, њбливaю же грyдіе земли2, гн0й стружA.

And my life is lighter than a word, and has perished in vain hope.	Житіe же моE є4сть скорsе бесёды, поги1бе же во тщeй надeжди.

Remember then that my life is breath, and mine eye shall not yet again see good.	Помzни2 u5бо, ћкw дyхъ м0й жив0тъ, и3 ктомY не возврати1тсz џко моE ви1дэти благ†z.

The eye of him that sees me shall not see me again: thine eyes are upon me, and I am no more.	Не ќзритъ менE џко ви1дzщагw мS: џчи твои2 на мнЁ, и3 ктомY нёсмь,

I am as a cloud that is cleared away from the sky: for if a man go down to the grave, he shall not come up again:	ћкоже w4блакъ њчищeнъ t небесE: ѓще бо человёкъ сни1детъ во ѓдъ, ктомY не взhдетъ,

and he shall surely not return to his own house, neither shall his place know him any more.	ни возврати1тсz во св0й д0мъ, нижE и4мать є3го2 познaти ктомY мёсто є3гw2.

Then neither will I refrain my mouth: I will speak being in distress; being in anguish I will disclose the bitterness of my soul.	Ќбw нижE ѓзъ пощажY ќстъ мои1хъ, возглаг0лю въ нyжди сhй, tвeрзу ўстA мо‰ г0рестію души2 моеS сотэснeнъ.

Am I a sea, or a serpent, that thou hast set a watch over me?	Е#дA м0ре є4смь, и3ли2 ѕмjй, ћкw ўчини1лъ є3си2 на мS хранeніе;

I said that my bed should comfort me, and I would privately counsel with myself on my couch.	Рек0хъ, ћкw ўтёшитъ мS џдръ м0й, произнесy же ко мнЁ на є3ди1нэ сл0во на л0жи моeмъ:

Thou scarest me with dreams, and dost terrify me with visions.	ўстрашaеши мS с0ніzми и3 видёніzми ўжасaеши мS:

Thou wilt separate life from my spirit; and yet keep my bones from death.	свободи1ши t дyха моегw2 дyшу мою2, t смeрти же кHсти мо‰.

For I shall not live for ever, that I should patiently endure: depart from me, for my life is vain.	Не поживy бо во вёкъ, да долготерплю2: tступи2 t менє2, тщe бо житіE моE.

For what is man, that thou hast magnified him? or that thou givest heed to him?	Чт0 бо є4сть человёкъ, ћкw возвели1чилъ є3си2 є3го2; и3ли2 ћкw внимaеши ўм0мъ къ немY;

Wilt thou visit him till the morning, and judge him till the time of rest?	и3ли2 посэщeніе твори1ши є3мY по всsко ќтро и3 въ пок0и суди1ти є3го2 и4маши;

How long dost thou not let me alone, nor let me go, until I shall swallow down my spittle?	Док0лэ не њстaвиши менE, нижE tпускaеши мS, д0ндеже поглощY сли6ны мо‰ въ болёзни;

If I have sinned, what shall I be able to do, O thou that understandest the mind of men? why hast thou made me as thine accuser, and why am I a burden to thee?	Ѓще ѓзъ согрэши1хъ, что2 тебЁ возмогY содёлати, свёдый ќмъ человёчь; почт0 мz є3си2 положи1лъ прекосл0вна тебЁ, и3 є4смь тебЁ брeменемъ;

Why hast thou not forgotten my iniquity, and purged my sin? but now I shall depart to the earth; and in the morning, I am no more.	почто2 нёси сотвори1лъ беззак0нію моемY забвeніz, и3 њчищeніz грэхA моегw2; нн7э же въ зeмлю tидY, ќтренюzй же нёсмь ктомY.

Then Baldad the Sauchite answered, and said,	Tвэщaвъ же валдaдъ саvхeйскій, речE: док0лэ глаг0лати бyдеши сі‰;

How long wilt thou speak these things, how long shall the breath of thy mouth be abundant in words?	дyхъ многоглаг0ливъ во ўстёхъ твои1хъ.
3	3
Will the Lord be unjust when he judges; or will he that has made all things pervert justice?	Е#дA гDь њби1дитъ судsй; и3ли2 вс‰ сотвори1вый возмzтeтъ прaвду;
4	4
If thy sons have sinned before him, he has cast them away because of their transgression.	Ѓще сhнове твои2 согрэши1ша пред8 ни1мъ, послA рyку на беззакHніz и4хъ:

But be thou early in prayer to the Lord Almighty.	тh же ќтренюй ко гDу вседержи1телю молsсz:

If thou art pure and true, he will hearken to thy supplication, and will restore to thee the habitation of righteousness.	ѓще чи1стъ є3си2 и3 и4стиненъ, моли1тву твою2 ўслhшитъ, ўстр0итъ же ти2 пaки житіE прaвды:

Though then thy beginning should be small, yet thy end should be unspeakably great.	бyдутъ u5бо пє1рваz тво‰ м†ла, послBднzz же тво‰ без8 числA.

For ask of the former generation, and search diligently among the race of our fathers:	Вопроси1 бо р0да пeрваго, и3зслёди же по р0ду nтцє1въ:

(for we are of yesterday, and know nothing; for our life upon the earth is a shadow:)	вчерaшни бо є3смы2 и3 не вёмы, сёнь бо є4сть нaше житіE на земли2:

shall not these teach thee, and report to thee, and bring out words from their heart?	не сjи ли научaтъ тS и3 возвэстsтъ ти2 и3 t сeрдца и3знесyтъ словесA;

Does the rush flourish without water, or shall the flag grow up without moisture?	Е#дA произни1четъ р0гозъ без8 воды2, и3ли2 растeтъ си1тникъ без8 напаsніz;

When it is yet on the root, and though it has not been cut down, does not any herb wither before it has received moisture?	є3щE сyщу на к0рени, и3 не п0жнетсz ли; прeжде напаsніz всsкое бhліе не и3зсыхaетъ ли;

Thus then shall be the end of all that forget the Lord: for the hope of the ungodly shall perish.	тaкw u5бо бyдутъ послBднzz всёхъ забывaющихъ гDа: надeжда бо нечести1вагw поги1бнетъ:

For his house shall be without inhabitants, and his tent shall prove a spider's web.	не населeнъ бо бyдетъ д0мъ є3гw2, паучи1на же сбyдетсz селeніе є3гw2.

If he should prop up his house, it shall not stand: and when he has taken hold of it, it shall not remain.	Ѓще подпрeтъ хрaмину свою2, не стaнетъ: є4мшусz же є3мY за ню2, не пребyдетъ.

For it is moist under the sun, and his branch shall come forth out of his dung-heap.	Влaжный бо є4сть под8 с0лнцемъ, и3 t тлёніz є3гw2 лёторасль є3гw2 и3зhдетъ:

He lies down upon a gathering of stones, and shall live in the midst of flints.	на собрaніи кaменіz спи1тъ, посредё же кремeніz поживeтъ:

If God should destroy him, his place shall deny him. Hast thou not seen such things,	ѓще поглоти1тъ мёсто, солжeтъ є3мY, не ви1дэлъ є3си2 таков†z,

that such is the overthrow of the ungodly? and out of the earth another shall grow.	ћкw превращeніе нечести1вагw таково2, и3з8 земли1 же и3нaго произрасти1тъ.

For the Lord will by no means reject the harmless man; but he will not receive any gift of the ungodly.	ГDь бо не tри1нетъ неѕл0бивагw: всsкагw же дaра t нечести1вагw не пріи1метъ.

But he will fill with laughter the mouth of the sincere, and their lips with thanksgiving.	И$стиннымъ же ўстA и3сп0лнитъ смёха, ўстнё же и4хъ и3сповёданіz.

But their adversaries shall clothe themselves with shame; and the habitation of the ungodly shall perish.	Врази1 же и4хъ њблекyтсz въ стyдъ: жили1ще же нечести1вагw не бyдетъ.

I know of a truth that it is so: for how shall a mortal man be just before the Lord?	вои1стинну вёмъ, ћкw тaкw є4сть: кaкw бо бyдетъ прaведенъ человёкъ ў гDа;

For if he would enter into judgment with him, God would not hearken to him, so that he should answer to one of his charges of a thousand.	ѓще бо восх0щетъ суди1тисz съ ни1мъ, не послyшаетъ є3гw2, да не преречeтъ ко є3ди1ному словеси2 є3гw2 t тhсzщи.

For he is wise in mind, and mighty, and great: who has hardened himself against him and endured?	Премdръ бо є4сть мhслію, крёпокъ же и3 вели1къ: кто2 жeстокъ бhвъ проти1ву є3гw2, пребhсть;

Who wears out the mountains, and men know it not: who overturns them in anger.	Њбетшazй г0ры, и3 не вёдzтъ, превращazй \| гнёвомъ:

Who shakes the earth under heaven from its foundations, and its pillars totter.	трzсhй поднебeсную и3з8 њсновaній, столпи1 же є3S колeблютсz:

Who does great and unsearchable things; glorious also and excellent things, innumerable.	творsй вє1ліz и3 неизслёдwваннаz, сл†внаz же и3 и3зр‰днаz, и5мже нёсть числA.

If ever he should go beyond me, I shall not see him: if he should pass by me, neither thus have I known it.	Ѓще пріи1детъ ко мнЁ, не и4мамъ ви1дэти: и3 ѓще мимои1детъ менє2, никaкw ўразумёхъ.

If he would take away, who shall turn him back? or who shall say to him, What hast thou done?	Ѓще в0зметъ, кто2 возврати1тъ; и3ли2 кто2 речeтъ є3мY: что2 сотвори1лъ є3си2;

For if he has turned away his anger, the whales under heaven have stooped under him.	Сaмъ бо tвращaетъ гнёвъ, слzк0шасz под8 ни1мъ ки1ти поднебeсніи.

Oh then that he would hearken to me, or judge my cause.	Ѓще же мS ўслhшитъ, и3ли2 разсyдитъ глаг0лы мо‰;

For though I be righteous, he will not hearken to me: I will intreat his judgment.	Ѓще бо и3 прaведенъ бyду, не ўслhшитъ менE, судY є3гw2 помолю1сz:

For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane: and though I should seem blameless, I shall be proved perverse.	Ѓще бо бyду прaведенъ, ўстA мо‰ нечє1стіz сотворsтъ: ѓще же бyду непор0ченъ, стр0потенъ бyду.

For even if I have sinned, I know it not in my soul: but my life is taken away.	Ѓще бо нечeстіе сотвори1хъ, не вёмъ душeю моeю: nбaче teмлетсz ми2 жив0тъ.

Wherefore I said, Wrath slays the great and mighty man.	Тёмже рёхъ: вели1ка и3 си1льна губи1тъ гнёвъ.

For the worthless die, but the righteous are laughed to scorn.	Ћкw лукaвіи смeртію лю1тою поги1бнутъ, nбaче прaвєднымъ посмэвaютсz.

For they are delivered into the hands of the unrighteous man: he covers the faces of the judges of the earth: but if it be not he, who is it?	ПреданA є4сть землS въ рyцэ нечести1вагw, ли1ца судjй є3S покрывaетъ: ѓще же не сaмъ є4сть, кто2 є4сть;

But my life is swifter than a post: my days have fled away, and they knew it not.	Житіe же моE є4сть легчaе скоротeчца: tбэг0ша и3 не ви1дэша.

For thou art not man like me, with whom I could contend, that we might come together to judgment.	Нёси бо человёкъ, ћкоже ѓзъ, є3мyже противопрю1сz, да пріи1демъ вкyпэ на сyдъ.

Weary in my soul, I will pour my words with groans upon him: I will speak being straitened in the bitterness of my soul.	Труждaюсz душeю моeю, стенS и3спущY на мS глаг0лы мо‰, возглаг0лю г0рестію души2 моеS њдержи1мь

And I will say to the Lord, Do not teach me to be impious; and wherefore hast thou thus judged me?	и3 рекY ко гDеви: не ўчи1 мz нечeствовати, и3 почт0 ми си1це суди1лъ є3си2;

Is it good before thee if I be unrighteous? for thou hast disowned the work of thy hands, and attended to the counsel of the ungodly.	и3ли2 добр0 ти є4сть, ѓще вознепрaвдую, ћкw презрёлъ є3си2 дэлA рукY твоє1ю, совёту же нечести1выхъ внsлъ є3си2;

Or dost thou see as a mortal sees? or wilt thou look as a man sees?	и3ли2 ћкоже человёкъ ви1дитъ, ви1диши; и3ли2 ћкоже зри1тъ человёкъ, ќзриши;

Or is thy life human, or thy years the years of a man,	и3ли2 житіE твоE человёческо є4сть; и3ли2 лBта тво‰ ћкw днjе мyжа;

that thou hast enquired into mine iniquity, and searched out my sins?	ћкw и3стzзaлъ є3си2 беззак0ніе моE и3 грэхи2 мо‰ и3зслёдилъ є3си2.

For thou knowest that I have not committed iniquity: but who is he that can deliver out of thy hands?	Вёси бо, ћкw не нечeствовахъ: но кто2 є4сть и3з8имazй и3з8 рукY твоє1ю;

Thy hands have formed me and made me; afterwards thou didst change thy mind, and smite me.	Рyцэ твои2 сотвори1стэ мS и3 создaстэ мS: пот0мъ же преложи1въ, порази1лъ мS є3си2.

Remember that thou hast made me as clay, and thou dost turn me again to earth.	Помzни2, ћкw брeніе мS создaлъ є3си2, въ зeмлю же пaки возвращaеши мS.

Hast thou not poured me out like milk, and curdled me like cheese?	И#ли2 не ћкоже млеко2 и3змелзи1лъ мS є3си2, ўсыри1лъ же мS є3си2 рaвнw сhру;

And thou didst clothe me with skin and flesh, and frame me with bones and sinews.	К0жею же и3 пл0тію мS њблeклъ є3си2, костьми1 же и3 жи1лами сши1лъ мS є3си2:

And thou didst bestow upon me life and mercy, and thy oversight has preserved my spirit.	жив0тъ же и3 ми1лость положи1лъ є3си2 ў менє2, посэщeніе же твоE сохрани2 м0й дyхъ.

Having these things in thyself, I know that thou canst do all things; for nothing is impossible with thee.	Сі‰ и3мёzй въ тебЁ, вёмъ, ћкw вс‰ м0жеши, и3 невозм0жно тебЁ ничт0же.

And if I should sin, thou watchest me; and thou hast not cleared me from iniquity.	Ѓще бо согрэшY, храни1ши мS, t беззак0ніz же не безви1нна мS сотвори1лъ є3си2.

Or if I should be ungodly, woe is me: and if I should be righteous, I cannot lift myself up, for I am full of dishonour.	Ѓще бо нечести1въ бyду, лю1тэ мнЁ, ѓще же бyду прaведенъ, не могY возни1кнути: и3сп0лненъ бо є4смь безчeстіz,

For I am hunted like a lion for slaughter; for again thou hast changed and art terribly destroying me;	лови1мь бо є4смь ѓки лeвъ на ўбіeніе: пaки же преложи1въ, лю1тэ ўбивaеши мS.

renewing against me my torture: and thou hast dealt with me in great anger, and thou hast brought trials upon me.	Њбновлszй на мS и3спытaніе моE, гнёва бо вели1кагw на мS ўпотреби1лъ є3си2 и3 навeлъ є3си2 на мS и3скушє1ніz.

Why then didst thou bring me out of the womb? and why did I not die, and no eye see me,	Почто2 u5бо мS и3з8 чрeва и3звeлъ є3си2, и3 не ўмр0хъ, џко же менE не ви1дэло бы,

and I become as if I had not been? for why was I not carried from the womb to the grave?	и3 бhхъ бы ѓки не бhлъ; почто2 u5бо и3з8 чрeва во гр0бъ не снид0хъ;

Is not the time of my life short? suffer me to rest a little,	и3ли2 не мaло є4сть врeмz жи1зни моеS; њстaви менE почи1ти мaлw,

before I go whence I shall not return, to a land of darkness and gloominess;	прeжде дaже tидY, tню1дуже не возвращyсz, въ зeмлю тeмну и3 мрaчну,

Then Sophar the Minæan answered and said,	Tвэщaвъ же сwфaръ мінeйскій, речE:

He that speaks much, should also hear on the other side: or does the fluent speaker think himself to be righteous? blessed is the short-lived offspring of woman.	глаг0лzй мн0гw, и3 противоуслhшитъ: и3ли2 многорёчивъ мни1тсz бhти прaведенъ; благословeнъ рождeнный t жены2 малолётенъ.

Be not a speaker of many words; for is there none to answer thee?	Не мн0гъ во словесёхъ бyди: нёсть бо противовэщazй ти2.

For say not, I am pure in my works, and blameless before him.	Не глаг0ли бо, ћкw чи1стъ є4смь дёлы и3 безпор0ченъ пред8 ни1мъ:

But oh that the Lord would speak to thee, and open his lips with thee!	но кaкw гDь возгlетъ къ тебЁ и3 tвeрзетъ ўстнЁ свои2 съ тоб0ю;

Then shall he declare to thee the power of wisdom; for it shall be double of that which is with thee: and then shalt thou know, that a just recompence of thy sins has come to thee from the Lord.	Пот0мъ возвэсти1тъ ти2 си1лу премyдрости, ћкw сугyбъ бyдетъ въ си1хъ, ±же проти1ву тебє2: и3 тогдA ўразумёеши, ћкw достHйнаz тебЁ сбhшасz t гDа, и4миже согрэши1лъ є3си2,

Wilt thou find out the traces of the Lord? or hast thou come to the end of that which the Almighty has made?	И#ли2 слёдъ гDень њбрsщеши; и3ли2 въ послBднzz дости1глъ є3си2, ±же сотвори2 вседержи1тель;

Heaven is high; and what wilt thou do? and there are deeper things than those in hell; what dost thou know?	Выс0ко нeбо, и3 что2 сотвори1ши; глубочaе же сyщихъ во ѓдэ что2 вёси;

Or longer than the measure of the earth, or the breadth of the sea.	не должaе ли мёры земнhz, и3ли2 широты2 морскjz;

And if he should overthrow all things, who will say to him, What hast thou done?	Ѓще же преврати1тъ вс‰, кто2 речeтъ є3мY: что2 сотвори1лъ є3си2;

For he knows the works of transgressors; and when he sees wickedness, he will not overlook it.	Т0й бо вёсть дэлA беззак0нныхъ: ви1дэвъ же нелBпаz, не прeзритъ.

But man vainly buoys himself up with words; and a mortal born of woman is like an ass of the desert.	Человёкъ же и4накw њби1луетъ словесы2: земнhй же рождeнный t жены2 рaвенъ nслY пустhнному.

For if thou hast made thine heart pure, and liftest up thine hands towards him;	Ѓще бо ты2 чи1сто положи1лъ є3си2 сeрдце твоE, воздэвaеши же рyцэ твои2 къ немY,

if there is any iniquity in thy hands, put it far from thee, and let not unrighteousness lodge in thy habitation.	ѓще беззак0нно что2 є4сть въ рукY твоє1ю, далeче сотвори2 є5 t тебє2, непрaвда же въ жили1щи твоeмъ да не всели1тсz:

For thus shall thy countenance shine again, as pure water; and thou shalt divest thyself of uncleanness, and shalt not fear.	тaкw бо ти2 возсіsетъ лицE, ћкоже водA чистA: совлечeшисz же сквeрны, и3 не ўбои1шисz,

And thou shalt forget trouble, as a wave that has passed by; and thou shalt not be scared.	и3 трудA забyдеши, ћкоже волны2 мимошeдшіz, и3 не ўстраши1шисz.

And thy prayer shall be as the morning star, and life shall arise to thee as from the noon-day.	Моли1тва же твоS, ѓки денни1ца, и3 пaче полyдне возсіsетъ ти2 жи1знь:

And thou shalt be confident, because thou hast hope; and peace shall dawn to thee from out of anxiety and care.	ўповaz же бyдеши, ћкw бyдетъ ти2 надeжда: t туги1 же и3 попечeніz kви1тсz ти2 ми1ръ:

For thou shalt be at ease, and there shall be no one to fight against thee; and many shall charge, and make supplication to thee.	ўпок0ишисz бо, и3 не бyдетъ борsй тS: премэнsющіисz же мн0зи и4мутъ проси1ти тS,

But safety shall fail them; for their hope is destruction, and the eyes of the ungodly shall waste away.	спасeніе же њстaвитъ и5хъ: надeжда бо и4хъ пaгуба, џчи же нечести1выхъ и3стaютъ.

And Job answered and said,	Tвэщaвъ же јwвъ, речE:

So then ye alone are men, and wisdom shall die with you?	ќбw вы2 ли є3ди1ни є3стE человёцы, и3ли2 съ вaми скончaетсz премyдрость;

But I also have a heart as well as you.	И# ў менє2 сeрдце є4сть ћкоже и3 ў вaсъ.

For a righteous and blameless man has become a subject for mockery.	Прaведенъ бо мyжъ и3 непор0ченъ бhсть въ поругaніе:

For it had been ordained that he should fall under others at the appointed time, and that his houses should be spoiled by transgressors: let not however any one trust that, being evil, he shall be held guiltless,	во врeмz бо њпредэлeное ўгот0ванъ бhсть пaсти t и3нhхъ, д0мы же є3гw2 њпустошє1ны бhти беззак0нными. nбaче никт0же да ўповaетъ, лукaвъ сhй, непови1ненъ бhти,

even as many as provoke the Lord, as if there were indeed to be no inquisition made of them.	є3ли1цы разгнэвлsютъ гDа, ѓки и3 и3стzзaніz и5мъ не бyдетъ.

But ask now the beasts, if they may speak to thee; and the birds of the air, if they may declare to thee.	Но вопроси2 четверон0гихъ, ѓще ти2 рекyтъ, и3 пти1цъ небeсныхъ, ѓще ти2 возвэстsтъ:

Tell the earth, if it may speak to thee: and the fishes of the sea shall explain to thee.	повёждь земли2, ѓще ти2 скaжетъ, и3 и3сповёдzтъ ти2 ры6бы мwрскjz.

Who then has not known in all these things, that the hand of the Lord has made them?	Кто2 ќбw не разумЁ во всёхъ си1хъ, ћкw рукA гDнz сотвори2 сі‰;

Whereas the life of all living things is in his hand, and the breath of every man.	Не въ руцё ли є3гw2 душA всёхъ живyщихъ и3 дyхъ всsкагw человёка;

For the ear tries words, and the palate tastes meats.	Ќхо бо словесA разсуждaетъ, гортaнь же бр†шна вкушaетъ.

In length of time is wisdom, and in long life knowledge.	Во мн0зэмъ врeмени премyдрость, во мн0зэ же житіи2 вёдэніе.

With him are wisdom and power, with him counsel and understanding.	Ў негw2 премyдрость и3 си1ла, ў тогw2 совётъ и3 рaзумъ.

If he should cast down, who will build up? if he should shut up against men, who shall open?	Ѓще низложи1тъ, кто2 сози1ждетъ; ѓще затвори1тъ t человёкwвъ, кто2 tвeрзетъ;

If he should withhold the water, he will dry the earth: and if he should let it loose, he overthrows and destroys it.	Ѓще возбрани1тъ в0ду, и3зсуши1тъ зeмлю: ѓще же пyститъ, погуби1тъ ю5 преврати1въ.

With him are strength and power: he has knowledge and understanding.	Ў негw2 держaва и3 крёпость, ў тогw2 вёдэніе и3 рaзумъ.

He leads counsellors away captive, and maddens the judges of the earth.	Проводsй совётники плэнє1ны, судіи6 же земли2 ўжаси2:

He seats kings upon thrones, and girds their loins with a girdle.	посаждazй цари6 на прест0лэхъ и3 њбвzзyzй п0zсомъ чрє1сла и4хъ:

He sends away priests into captivity, and overthrows the mighty ones of the earth.	tпущazй жерцы2 плённики, си1льныхъ же земли2 низврати2:

He changes the lips of the trusty, and he knows the understanding of the elders.	и3змэнszй ўстнЁ вёрныхъ, рaзумъ же стaрцєвъ ўразумЁ:

He pours dishonour upon princes, and heals the lowly.	и3зливazй безчeстіе на кн‰зи, смирє1нныz же и3зцэли2:

Revealing deep things out of darkness: and he has brought into light the shadow of death.	tкрывazй глубHкаz t тмы2, и3зведe же на свётъ сёнь смeртную:

Causing the nations to wander, and destroying them: overthrowing the nations, and leading them away.	прельщazй kзhки и3 погублszй и5хъ, низлагazй kзhки и3 наставлszй и5хъ:

Perplexing the minds of the princes of the earth: and he causes them to wander in a way they have not known, saying,	и3змэнszй сердцA кнzзeй земнhхъ, прельсти1 же и5хъ на пути2, є3гHже не вёдzху,

Let them grope in darkness, and let there be no light, and let them wander as a drunken man.	да њсsжутъ тмY, ґ не свётъ, да заблyдzтъ же ћкw піsный.

Behold, mine eye has seen these things, and mine ear has heard them.	СE, сі‰ ви1дэ џко моE, и3 слhша ќхо моE,

And I know all that ye too know; and I have not less understanding than you.	и3 вёмъ, є3ли6ка и3 вы2 вёсте: и3 не неразyмнэе є4смь вaсъ.

Nevertheless I will speak to the Lord, and I will reason before him, if he will.	Но nбaче и3 ѓзъ ко гDу возглаг0лю, њбличy же пред8 ни1мъ, ѓще восх0щетъ.

But ye are all bad physicians, and healers of diseases.	Вh бо є3стE врaчеве непрaведніи и3 цэли1телє ѕлhхъ вси2,

But would that ye were silent, and it would be wisdom to you in the end.	бyди же вaмъ њнэмёти, и3 сбyдетсz вaмъ въ премyдрость.

But hear ye the reasoning of my mouth, and attend to the judgment of my lips.	Слhшите же њбличeніе ќстъ мои1хъ, судy же ўстeнъ мои1хъ вонми1те.

Do ye not speak before the Lord, and utter deceit before him?	Не пред8 бGомъ ли глаг0лете и3 пред8 ни1мъ вэщaете лeсть;

Or will ye draw back? nay, do ye yourselves be judges.	и3ли2 ўклонитeсz, вh же сaми судіи6 бyдите.

For it were well if he would thoroughly search you: for though doing all things in your power ye should attach yourselves to him,	Добр0 бо, ѓще и3зслёдитъ вaсъ: ѓще бо вси2 творsщіи приложитeсz къ немY, nбaче њбличи1тъ вы2.

he will not reprove you at all the less: but if moreover ye should secretly respect persons,	Ѓще же и3 тaй ли1цамъ ўдивитeсz,

shall not his whirlpool sweep you round, and terror from him fall upon you?	не движeніе ли є3гw2 смzтeтъ вaсъ, боsзнь же t негw2 нападeтъ на вы2;

And your glorying shall prove in the end to you like ashes, and your body like a body of clay.	Tи1детъ же величaніе вaше рaвнw пeпелу, тёло же брeнно.

Be silent, that I may speak, and cease from mine anger,	Ўмолчи1те, да возглаг0лю и3 почjю t гнёва.

And this shall turn to me for salvation; for fraud shall have no entrance before him.	и3 сіE ми2 сбyдетсz во спасeніе: не вни1детъ бо пред8 ни1мъ лeсть.

But grant me two things: then I will not hide myself from thy face.	Дв0е же ми2 сотвори1ши, тогдA t лицA твоегw2 не скрhюсz:

Withhold thine hand from me: and let not thy fear terrify me.	рyку t менє2 tими2, стрaхъ же тв0й да не ўжасaетъ мS:

Wherefore hidest thou thyself from me, and deemest me thine enemy?	Почто2 крhешисz t менє2; мни1ши же мS проти1вна сyща тебЁ;

Wilt thou be startled at me, as at a leaf shaken by the wind? or wilt thou set thyself against me as against grass borne upon the breeze?	И#ли2 ћкw ли1стъ дви1жимь вётромъ ўбои1шисz; и3ли2 ћкw сёну носи1му вётромъ противлsешимисz;

For there is hope for a tree, even if it should be cut down, that it shall blossom again, and its branch shall not fail.	Е$сть бо дрeву надeжда: ѓще бо посёчено бyдетъ, пaки процвэтeтъ, и3 лёторасль є3гw2 не њскудёетъ:

For though its root should grow old in the earth, and its stem die in the rock;	ѓще бо состарёетсz въ земли2 к0рень є3гw2, на кaмени же скончaетсz стебло2 є3гw2,

it will blossom from the scent of water, and will produce a crop, as one newly planted.	t вони2 воды2 процвэтeтъ, сотвори1тъ же жaтву, ћкоже новосаждeнное.

But a man that has died is utterly gone; and when a mortal has fallen, he is no more.	Мyжъ же ўмeрый tи1де, пaдъ же человёкъ, ктомY нёсть.

For the sea wastes in length of time, and a river fails and is dried up.	Врeменемъ бо њскудэвaетъ м0ре, рэкa же њпустёвши и4зсше:

And man that has lain down in death shall certainly not rise again till the heaven be dissolved, and they shall not awake from their sleep.	человёкъ же ўснyвъ не востaнетъ, д0ндеже не бyдетъ нeбо сошвeно, и3 не возбудsтсz t снA своегw2.

For oh that thou hadst kept me in the grave, and hadst hidden me until thy wrath should cease, and thou shouldest set me a time in which thou wouldest remember me! And thou hast sealed up my transgressions in a bag, and marked if I have been guilty of any transgression unawares.	запечатлёлъ же ми2 є3си2 беззакHніz въ мэшцЁ, назнaменалъ же є3си2, ѓще что2 нев0лею преступи1хъ.

And verily a mountain falling will utterly be destroyed, and a rock shall be worn out of its place.	Nбaче и3 горA пaдающи распадeтсz, и3 кaмень њбетшaетъ t мёста своегw2:

The waters wear the stones, and waters falling headlong overflow a heap of the earth: and thou destroyest the hope of man.	кaменіе њглaдиша в0ды, и3 потопи1ша в0ды взнaкъ х0лмы земны6z, и3 њжидaніе человёческо погуби1лъ є3си2.

Thou drivest him to an end, and he is gone: thou settest thy face against him, and sendest him away;	Tри1нулъ є3си2 є3го2 до концA, и3 tи1де: и3змэни1лъ є3си2 є3мY лицE и3 и3спусти1лъ є3си2.

reasoning with improper sayings, and with words wherein is no profit?	њбличaz глагHлы, и4миже не подобaетъ, и3 словесы2, и4хже ни кaz п0льза;

Hast not thou moreover cast off fear, and accomplished such words before the Lord?	Не и3 тh ли tри1нулъ є3си2 стрaхъ; скончaлъ же є3си2 глаг0лы таковы6 пред8 гDемъ;

Thou art guilty by the words of thy mouth, neither hast thou discerned the words of the mighty.	Пови1ненъ є3си2 глаг0лwмъ ќстъ твои1хъ, нижE разсуди1лъ є3си2 глаг0лы си1льныхъ.

Let thine own mouth, and not me, reprove thee: and thy lips shall testify against thee.	Да њбличaтъ тS ўстA тво‰, ґ не ѓзъ, и3 ўстнЁ твои2 на тS возсвидётелствуютъ.

What! art thou the first man that was born? or wert thou established before the hills?	Чт0 бо; є3дA пeрвый t человBкъ рождeнъ є3си2; и3ли2 прeжде холмHвъ сгусти1лсz є3си2;

Or hast thou heard the ordinance of the Lord? or has God used thee as his counsellor? and has wisdom come only to thee?	и3ли2 строeніе гDне слhшалъ є3си2; и3ли2 въ совётника тS ўпотреби2 бGъ; и3 на тS (є3ди1наго) ли пріи1де премyдрость;

For what knowest thou, that we know not? or what understandest thou, which we do not also?	чт0 бо вёси, є3гHже не вёмы; и3ли2 что2 разумёеши ты2, є3гHже и3 мы2 (не разумёемъ);

Truly among us are both the old and very aged man, more advanced in days than thy father.	И# стaръ и3 дрeвенъ є4сть въ нaсъ, стaршій nтцA твоегw2 дeньми.

Thou hast been scourged for but few of thy sins: thou hast spoken haughtily and extravagantly.	Мaлw, њ ни1хже согрэши1лъ є3си2, ўsзвленъ є3си2, вельми2 вhше мёры возглаг0лалъ є3си2.

What has thine heart dared? or what have thine eyes aimed at,	Что2 дeрзостно бhсть сeрдце твоE; и3ли2 что2 вознес0стэсz џчи твои2;

that thou hast vented thy rage before the Lord, and delivered such words from thy mouth?	Ћкw ћрость и3зрhгнулъ є3си2 пред8 гDемъ, и3знeслъ же є3си2 и3зо ќстъ такwвA словесA;

For who, being a mortal, is such that he shall be blameless? or, who that is born of a woman, that he should be just?	Кт0 бо сhй человёкъ ћкw бyдетъ непор0ченъ; и3ли2 ѓки бyдущій прaведникъ рождeнъ t жены2;

Forasmuch as he trusts not his saints; and the heaven is not pure before him.	Ѓще во с™hхъ не вёритъ, нб7о же нечи1сто пред8 ни1мъ,

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.	кольми2 пaче мeрзкій и3 нечи1стый мyжъ, піsй непр†вды, ћкоже питіE.

But I will tell thee, hearken to me; I will tell thee now what I have seen;	Возвэщy же ти2, послyшай менE: ±же нн7э ви1дэхъ, возвэщY ти2,

things wise men say, and their fathers have not hidden.	±же премyдріи рекyтъ, и3 не ўтаи1ша nтцы2 и4хъ,

To them alone the earth was given, and no stranger came upon them.	и5мже є3ди6нымъ данA бhсть землS, и3 не нaйде и3ноплемeнникъ на нS.

All the life of the ungodly is spent in care, and the years granted to the oppressor are numbered.	ВсE житіE нечести1вагw въ попечeніи, лBта же и3зочтє1на дан† си1льному,

And his terror is in his ears: just when he seems to be at peace, his overthrow will come.	стрaхъ же є3гw2 во ўшесёхъ є3гw2: є3гдA мни1тъ ўжE въ ми1рэ бhти, тогдA пріи1детъ нaнь низвращeніе:

Let him not trust that he shall return from darkness, for he has been already made over to the power of the sword.	да не вёруетъ tврати1тисz t тмы2, њсуждeнъ бо ўжE въ рyки желёза,

And he has been appointed to be food for vultures; and he knows within himself that he is doomed to be a carcase: and a dark day shall carry him away as with a whirlwind.	ўчинeнъ же є4сть въ брaшно неsсытємъ: вёсть же въ себЁ, ћкw ждeтъ падeніz, дeнь же тeменъ преврати1тъ є3го2,

For he has lifted his hands against the Lord, and he has hardened his neck against the Almighty Lord.	ћкw вознесE рyцэ на гDа, пред8 гDемъ же вседержи1телемъ њжесточи2 вhю,

And he has run against him with insolence, on the thickness of the back of his shield.	течe же проти1ву є3мY ўкори1зною въ т0лщи хребтA щитA своегw2:

For he has covered his face with his fat, and made layers of fat upon his thighs.	ћкw покры2 лицE своE тyкомъ свои1мъ и3 сотвори2 њмeтъ на стeгнахъ: (хвалa же є3гw2 ўкори1зна).

And let him lodge in desolate cities, and enter into houses without inhabitant: and what they have prepared, others shall carry away.	Да всели1тсz же во градёхъ пустhхъ, вни1детъ же въ д0мы ненаселє1нныz: ґ ±же nни2 ўгот0ваша, и3нjи tнесyтъ.

Neither shall he at all grow rich, nor shall his substance remain: he shall not cast a shadow upon the earth.	НижE њбогати1тсz, нижE њстaнетъ и3мёніе є3гw2, не и4мать положи1ти на зeмлю сёни,

His harvest shall perish before the time, and his branch shall not flourish.	Посэчeніе є3гw2 прeжде часA растлёетъ, и3 лёторасль є3гw2 не њбли1ственэетъ:

And let him be gathered as the unripe grape before the time, and let him fall as the blossom of the olive.	да њб8имaнъ бyдетъ ћкоже недозрёлаz ћгода прeжде часA, да tпадeтъ же ћкw цвётъ мaсличіz.

For death is the witness of an ungodly man, and fire shall burn the houses of them that receive gifts.	Послyшество бо нечести1вагw смeрть, џгнь же пожжeтъ д0мы мздои1мцєвъ:

And he shall conceive sorrows, and his end shall be vanity, and his belly shall bear deceit.	во чрeвэ же пріи1метъ бwлёзни, сбyдетсz же є3мY тщетA,чрeво же є3гw2 понесeтъ лeсть.

But Job answered and said,	Tвэщaвъ же јwвъ, речE:

I have heard many such things: poor comforters are ye all.	слhшахъ сицєвaz мнHга, ўтёшителіе ѕHлъ вси2.

What! is there any reason in vain words? or what will hinder thee from answering?	Чт0 бо; є3дA чи1нъ є4сть во словесёхъ вётра; и3ли2 кyю ти2 пaкость сотвори1тъ, ћкw tвэщaеши;

I also will speak as ye do: if indeed your soul were in my soul's stead, then would I insult you with words, and I would shake my head at you.	И# ѓзъ ћкоже вы2 возглаг0лю: ѓще бы душA вaша подлежaла вмёстw моеS, тогдA наскочи1лъ бhхъ на вы2 словесы2, покивaю же на вы2 глав0ю моeю.

And would there were strength in my mouth, and I would not spare the movement of my lips.	Бyди же крёпость во ўстёхъ мои1хъ, движeніz же ўстeнъ не пощажY.

For if I should speak, I shall not feel the pain of my wound: and if I should be silent, how shall I be wounded the less?	Ѓще бо возглаг0лю, не возболю1 ли ћзвою; ѓще же и3 ўмолчY, чи1мъ мeнше ўsзвенъ бyду;

But now he has made me weary, and a worn-out fool; and thou hast laid hold of me.	Нн7э же преутруждeна мS сотвори2, бyz, согни1вша, и3 ћтъ мS.

My falsehood has become a testimony, and has risen up against me: it has confronted me to my face.	Въ послyшество бhхъ, и3 востA во мнЁ лжA моS, проти1внw лицY моемY tвэщA.

In his anger he has cast me down; he has gnashed his teeth upon me: the weapons of his robbers have fallen upon me.	Гнёвенъ бhвъ низложи1 мz, возскрежетA зубы2 на мS, стрёлы разб0йникwвъ є3гw2 напад0ша на мS.

He has attacked me with the keen glances of his eyes; with his sharp spear he has smitten me down upon my knees; and they have run upon me with one accord.	Nстрот0ю nчeсъ наскакA, мечeмъ порази1 мz въ колBна: вкyпэ же потек0ша на мS:

For the Lord has delivered me into the hands of unrighteous men, and thrown me upon the ungodly.	предадe бо мS гDь въ рyки непрaведныхъ, нечести6вымъ же повeрже мS.

When I was at peace he distracted me: he took me by the hair of the head, and plucked it out: he set me up as a mark.	Ми1рствующа разсhпа мS, взsвъ мS за власы2 њборвA, постaви мS ѓки примёту.

They surrounded me with spears, aiming at my reins: without sparing me they poured out my gall upon the ground.	Њбыд0ша мS к0піzми бодyще во и3стeсы мо‰, не щадsще: и3зліsша на зeмлю жeлчь мою2,

They overthrew me with fall upon fall: they ran upon me in their might.	низложи1ша мS трyпъ на трyпъ, тек0ша ко мнЁ могyщіи,

They sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and my strength has been spent on the ground.	врeтище соши1ша на к0жу мою2, и3 м0щь моS на земли2 ўгасE.

My belly has been parched with wailing, and darkness is on my eyelids.	Чрeво моE сгорЁ t плaча, на вёждахъ же мои1хъ стёнь смeртнаz,

Yet there was no injustice in my hands, and my prayer is pure.	непрaведно же ни є3ди1но бЁ въ рукY моє1ю: моли1тва же моS чистA.

Earth, cover not over the blood of my flesh, and let my cry have no place.	ЗемлE, да не покрhеши над8 кр0вію пл0ти моеS, нижE да бyдетъ мёсто в0плю моемY.

And now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my advocate is on high.	И# нн7э сE, на нб7сёхъ п0слухъ м0й, свидётель же ми2 во вhшнихъ.

Let my supplication come to the Lord, and let mine eye weep before him.	Да пріи1детъ моS мольбA ко гDу, пред8 ни1мже да кaплетъ џко моE.

Oh that a man might plead before the Lord, even as the son of man with his neighbour!	Бyди же њбличeніе мyжу пред8 гDемъ, и3 сhну человёческому ко бли1жнему є3гw2.

But my years are numbered and their end come, and I shall go by the way by which I shall not return.	ЛBта же и3зочтє1наz пріид0ша, и3 путeмъ, и4мже не возвращyсz, пойдY.

I perish, carried away by the wind, and I seek for burial, and obtain it not.	Тлёю дyхомъ носи1мь, прошy же гр0ба и3 не ўлучaю.

Weary I intreat; and what have I done? and strangers have stolen my goods.	Молю2 болёзнуz, и3 что2 сотворю2; ўкрад0ша же ми2 и3мёніе чуждjи.

Who is this? let him join hands with me.	Кт0 є3сть сeй; рук0ю моeю свsзанъ да бyдетъ.

For my eyes are dimmed through pain; I have been grievously beset by all.	Њслэп0ста бо t гнёва џчи мои2, повоевaнъ бhхъ вельми2 t всёхъ:

For wherefore have we been silent before thee like brutes?	И# почто2 ѓки четверонHжнаz ўмолчaхомъ пред8 тоб0ю;

Let the meanest of men spoil his goods, and let his counsel deceive him.	да ўловsтъ мeншіи и3мBніz є3гw2, погрэши1тъ же є3гw2 совётъ:

His foot also has been caught in a snare, and let it be entangled in a net.	ввeржена же бhсть ногA є3гw2 въ прyгло, мрeжею да повіeтсz:

And let snares come upon him: he shall strengthen those that thirst for his destruction.	да пріи1дутъ же нaнь пр{гла, ўкрэпи1тъ нaнь жaждущихъ:

His snare is hid in the earth, and that which shall take him is by the path.	скрhсz въ земли2 ќже є3гw2, и3 ћтіе є3гw2 на стези2.

Let pains destroy him round about, and let many enemies come about him,	W$крестъ да погубsтъ є3го2 болBзни: мн0зи же w4крестъ н0гъ є3гw2 њб8и1дутъ во глaдэ тёснэмъ:

vex him with distressing hunger: and a signal destruction has been prepared for him.	падeніе же є3мY ўгот0вано вели1ко.

Let the soles of his feet be devoured: and death shall consume his beauty.	Поzдє1ны же да бyдутъ плєсны2 н0гъ є3гw2, кр†снаz же є3гw2 да поsстъ смeрть.

And let health be utterly banished from his tabernacle, and let distress seize upon him with a charge from the king.	Tт0ржено же бyди t житіS є3гw2 и3зцэлeніе, да и4метъ же є3го2 бэдA вин0ю цaрскою.

It shall dwell in his tabernacle in his night: his excellency shall be sown with brimstone.	Да всели1тсz въ хрaминэ є3гw2 въ нощи2 є3гw2, посы6пана да бyдутъ лёпwтнаz є3гw2 жyпеломъ:

His roots shall be dried up from beneath, and his crop shall fall away from above.	под8 ни1мъ корє1ніz є3гw2 да и3зс0хнутъ, свhше же нападeтъ пожaтіе є3гw2.

Let his memorial perish out of the earth, and his name shall be publicly cast out.	Пaмzть є3гw2 да поги1бнетъ t земли2, и3 (не) бyдетъ и4мz є3гw2 на лицы2 внёшнемъ:

Let one drive him from light into darkness.	да tри1нетъ є3го2 t свёта во тмY:

He shall not be known among his people, nor his house preserved on the earth.	не бyдетъ знaемь въ лю1дехъ є3гw2, нижE спасeнъ въ поднебeснэй д0мъ є3гw2:

But strangers shall dwell in his possessions: the last groaned for him, and wonder seized the first.	но въ свои1хъ є3мY поживyтъ и3нjи, над8 ни1мъ воздохнyша послёдніи, пeрвыхъ же њб8S чyдо.

These are the houses of the unrighteous, and this is the place of them that know not the Lord.	Сjи сyть д0мове непрaведныхъ, сіe же мёсто невёдущихъ бGа.

How long will ye vex my soul, and destroy me with words? only know that the Lord has dealt with me thus.	док0лэ притрyдну творитE дyшу мою2 и3 низлагaете мS словесы2; ўразумёйте т0кмw, ћкw гDь сотвори1 мz си1це.

Ye speak against me; ye do not feel for me, but bear hard upon me.	Клевeщете на мS, не стыдsщесz менє2 належитe ми.

He has torn me round about, and I am gone: and he has cut off my hope like a tree.	растерзa мz w4крестъ, и3 tид0хъ: посэчe же ћкw дрeво надeжду мою2.

And he has dreadfully handled me in anger, and has counted me for an enemy.	Лю1тэ же гнёва ўпотреби2 на мS и3 возмнё мz ћкw врагA.

His troops also came upon me with one accord, liers in wait compassed my ways.	Вкyпэ же пріид0ша и3скушє1ніz є3гw2 на мS, на путeхъ же мои1хъ њбыд0ша мS навBтницы.

My brethren have stood aloof from me; they have recognised strangers rather than me: and my friends have become pitiless.	Брaтіz мо‰ tступи1ша t менє2, познaша чужди1хъ пaче менє2, и3 дрyзіе мои2 неми1лостиви бhша:

My nearest of kin have not acknowledged me, and they that knew my name, have forgotten me.	не снабдёша мS бли1жніи мои2, и3 вёдzщіи и4мz моE забhша мS.

As for my household, and my maid-servants, I was a stranger before them.	Сосёди д0му и3 рабы6ни мо‰, (ћкw) и3ноплемeнникъ бhхъ пред8 ни1ми:

I called my servant, and he hearkened not; and my mouth intreated him.	рабA моего2 звaхъ, и3 не послyша, ўстa же мо‰ молsхусz:

And I besought my wife, and earnestly intreated the sons of my concubines.	и3 проси1хъ женY мою2, призывaхъ же ласкaz сhны подл0жницъ мои1хъ:

But they rejected me for ever; whenever I rise up, they speak against me.	nни1 же менE въ вёкъ tри1нуша, є3гдA востaну, на мS глаг0лютъ.

They that saw me abhorred me: the very persons whom I had loved, rose up against me.	Гнушaхусz менє2 ви1дzщіи мS, и3 и5хже люби1хъ, востaша на мS.

My flesh is corrupt under my skin, and my bones are held in my teeth.	Въ к0жи моeй согни1ша плHти мо‰, кHсти же мо‰ въ зубёхъ содержaтсz.

Pity me, pity me, O friends; for it is the hand of the Lord that has touched me.	Поми1луйте мS, поми1луйте мS, q, дрyзіе! рукa бо гDнz коснyвшаzсz ми2 є4сть.

Wherefore do ye persecute me as also the Lord does, and are not satisfied with my flesh?	Почт0 мz г0ните ћкоже и3 гDь; t пл0тей же мои1хъ не насыщaетесz;

I did not suppose that thou wouldest answer thus: neither do ye understand more than I.	не тaкw мнёхъ сі‰ тебЁ рещи2 проти1ву, и3 не разумёете пaче нeжели и3 ѓзъ.

I will hear my shameful reproach; and the spirit of my understanding answers me.	Наказaніе срамлeніz моегw2 ўслhшу, и3 дyхъ t рaзума tвэщавaетъ ми2.

Hast thou not known these things of old, from the time that man was set upon the earth?	Е#дA си1хъ не ўразумёлъ є3си2 t вёка, tнeлэже положeнъ человёкъ бhсть на земли2;

But the mirth of the ungodly is a signal downfall, and the joy of transgressors is destruction:	весeліе бо нечести1выхъ падeніе стрaшно, њбрaдованіе же беззак0нныхъ пaгуба.

although his gifts should go up to heaven, and his sacrifice reach the clouds.	Ѓще взhдутъ на нeбо дaры є3гw2, жeртва же є3гw2 њблакHвъ к0снетсz:

For when he shall seem to be now established, then he shall utterly perish: and they that knew him shall say, Where is he?	є3гдa бо мни1тсz ўжE ўтверждeнъ бhти, тогдA въ конeцъ поги1бнетъ. ви1дэвшіи же є3го2 рекyтъ: гдё є3сть;

Like a dream that has fled away, he shall not be found; and he has fled like a vision of the night.	Ћкоже с0нъ tлетёвый не њбрsщетсz, tлетё же ѓки мечтaніе нощн0е.

The eye has looked upon him, but shall not see him again; and his place shall no longer perceive him.	Џко призрЁ, и3 не приложи1тъ, и3 ктомY не познaетъ є3го2 мёсто є3гw2.

Let his inferiors destroy his children, and let his hands kindle the fire of sorrow.	СынHвъ є3гw2 да погубsтъ мeншіи, и3 рyцэ є3гw2 возжгyтъ бwлёзни.

His bones have been filled with vigour of his youth, and it shall lie down with him in the dust.	КHсти є3гw2 нап0лнишасz грэхHвъ ю4ности є3гw2 и3 съ ни1мъ на пeрсти ўснyтъ.

Though evil be sweet in his mouth, though he will hide it under his tongue;	Ѓще ўслади1тсz во ўстёхъ є3гw2 ѕл0ба, скрhетъ ю5 под8 љзhкомъ свои1мъ:

though he will not spare it, and will not leave it, but will keep it in the midst of his throat:	не пощади1тъ є3S, и3 не њстaвитъ є3S, и3 соберeтъ ю5 посредЁ гортaни своегw2,

yet he shall not at all be able to help himself; the gall of an asp is in his belly.	и3 не возм0жетъ помощи2 себЁ: жeлчь ѓспідwвъ во чрeвэ є3гw2.

His wealth unjustly collected shall be vomited up; a messenger of wrath shall drag him out of his house.	Богaтство непрaведнw собирaемо и3зблюeтсz, и3з8 хрaмины є3гw2 и3звлечeтъ є3го2 ѓгGлъ.

And let him suck the poison of serpents, and let the serpent's tongue slay him.	Ћрость же ѕміeву да ссeтъ, да ўбіeтъ же є3го2 љзhкъ ѕміи1нъ.

Let him not see the milk of the pastures, nor the supplies of honey and butter.	Да не ќзритъ tдоeніz скотHвъ, нижE прибhтка мeда и3 мaсла крaвіz.

He has laboured unprofitably and in vain, for wealth of which he shall not taste: it is as a lean thing, unfit for food, which he cannot swallow.	ВотщE и3 всyе труди1сz, богaтство, t негHже не вкyситъ, ћкоже кл0ки не сожвaємы и3 не поглощaємы.

For he has broken down the houses of many mighty men: and he has plundered an habitation, though he built it not.	Мн0гихъ бо немощнhхъ д0мы сокруши2, жили1ще же разгрaби и3 не постaви.

There is no security to his possessions; he shall not be saved by his desire.	Нёсть спасeніz и3мёнію є3гw2, въ вожделёніи своeмъне спасeтсz.

There is nothing remaining of his provisions; therefore his goods shall not flourish.	Нёсть њстaнка брaшну є3гw2, сегw2 рaди не процвэтyтъ є3мY благ†z.

But when he shall seem to be just satisfied, he shall be straitened; and all distress shall come upon him.	Е#гдa же мни1тъ ўжE и3сп0лнь бhти, њскорби1тсz, всsка же бэдA нaнь пріи1детъ.

If by any means he would fill his belly, let God send upon him the fury of wrath; let him bring a torrent of pains upon him.	Ѓще кaкw ли1бо и3сп0лнитъ чрeво своE, напyститъ нaнь ћрость гнёва, њдожди1тъ на него2 бwлёзни:

And he shall by no means escape from the power of the sword; let the brazen bow wound him.	и3 не спасeтсz t руки2 желёза, да ўстрэли1тъ є3го2 лyкъ мёдzнъ,

And let the arrow pierce through his body; and let the stars be against his dwelling-place: let terrors come upon him.	и3 да пр0йдетъ сквозЁ тёло є3гw2 стрэлA: ѕвёзды же въ жили1щихъ є3гw2: да пріи1дутъ нaнь стрaси,

And let all darkness wait for him: a fire that burns not out shall consume him; and let a stranger plague his house.	и3 всsка тмA на нeмъ да пребyдетъ: да поsстъ є3го2 џгнь нераздежeный, да њѕл0битъ же пришлeцъ д0мъ є3гw2:

And let the heaven reveal his iniquities, and the earth rise up against him.	и3 да tкрhетъ нeбо беззакHніz є3гw2, и3 землS да востaнетъ нaнь:

Let destruction bring his house to an end; let a day of wrath come upon him.	да и3звлечeтъ д0мъ є3гw2 пaгуба до концA, дeнь гнёва да пріи1детъ нaнь.

This is the portion of an ungodly man from the Lord, and the possession of his goods appointed him by the all-seeing God.	СіS чaсть человёка нечести1вагw t гDа и3 стzжaніе и3мёній є3гw2 t надзирaтелz.

Hear ye, hear ye my words, that I may not have this consolation from you.	послyшайте, послyшайте словeсъ мои1хъ, да не бyдетъ ми2 t вaсъ сіE ўтэшeніе:

Raise me, and I will speak; then ye shall not laugh me to scorn.	потерпи1те ми2, ѓзъ же возглаг0лю, тaже не посмэeтемисz.

What! is my reproof of man? and why should I not be angry?	Чт0 бо; є3дA человёческо ми2 њбличeніе; и3ли2 почто2 не воз8zрю1сz;

Look upon me, and wonder, laying your hand upon your cheek.	Воззрёвшіи на мS ўдиви1тесz, рyку пол0жше на лани1тэ.

For even when I remember, I am alarmed, and pains seize my flesh.	Ѓще бо воспомzнY, ўжаснyсz: њбдержaтъ бо пл0ть мою2 болBзни.

Wherefore do the ungodly live, and grow old even in wealth?	Почто2 нечести1віи живyтъ, њбетшaша же въ богaтствэ;

Their seed is according to their desire, and their children are in their sight.	Сёмz и4хъ по души2, ч†да же и4хъ пред8 nчи1ма.

Their houses are prosperous, neither have they any where cause for fear, neither is there a scourge from the Lord upon them.	Д0мове и4хъ nби1лніи сyть, стрaхъ же нигдЁ, рaны же t гDа нёсть на ни1хъ.

Their cow does not cast her calf, and their beast with young is safe, and does not miscarry.	Говsдо и4хъ не и3звeрже: спасeна же бhсть и4хъ и3мyщаz во чрeвэ и3 не лиши1сz.

And they remain as an unfailing flock, and their children play before them, taking up the psaltery and harp;	Пребывaютъ же ћкw џвцы вBчныz, дёти же и4хъ пред8игрaютъ,

and they rejoice at the voice of a song.	взeмше pалти1рь и3 гyсли, и3 веселsтсz глaсомъ пёсни.

And they spend their days in wealth, and fall asleep in the rest of the grave.	Скончaша во благи1хъ житіE своE, въ пок0и же ѓдовэ ўсп0ша.

Yet such a man says to the Lord, Depart from me; I desire not to know thy ways.	Глаг0лютъ же гDеви: tступи2 t нaсъ, путjй твои1хъ вёдэти не х0щемъ:

What is the Mighty One, that we should serve him? and what profit is there that we should approach him?	что2 дост0инъ, ћкw да пораб0таемъ є3мY; и3 кaz п0льза, ћкw да взhщемъ є3го2;

For their good things were in their hands, but he regards not the works of the ungodly.	Въ рукaхъ бо и4хъ бsху благ†z, дёлъ же нечести1выхъ не надзирaетъ.

Nevertheless, the lamp of the ungodly also shall be put out, and destruction shall come upon them, and pangs of vengeance shall seize them.	Nбaче же и3 нечести1выхъ свэти1лникъ ўгaснетъ, нaйдетъ же и5мъ развращeніе, бwлёзни же и5хъ њб8и1мутъ t гнёва:

And they shall be as chaff before the wind, or as dust which the storm has taken up.	бyдутъ же ѓки плє1вы пред8 вётромъ, и3ли2 ћкоже прaхъ, є3г0же взS ви1хръ.

Let his substance fail to supply his children: God shall recompense him, and he shall know it.	Да њскудёютъ сынHмъ и3мBніz є3гw2: воздaстъ проти1ву є3мY, и3 ўразумёетъ.

Let his eyes see his own destruction, and let him not be saved by the Lord.	Да ќзрzтъ џчи є3гw2 своE ўбіeніе, t гDа же да не спасeтсz.

For his desire is in his house with him, and the number of his months has been suddenly cut off.	Ћкw в0лz є3гw2 съ ни1мъ въ домY є3гw2, и3 чи1сла мцcей є3гw2 раздэли1шасz.

Is it not the Lord who teaches understanding and knowledge? and does not he judge murders?	Не гDь ли є4сть научazй рaзуму и3 хи1трости; т0йже мyдрыхъ разсуждaетъ.

One shall die in his perfect strength, and wholly at ease and prosperous;	Т0й ќмретъ въ си1лэ простоты2 своеS, всецёлъ же благодyшествуzй и3 благоуспэвazй,

and his inwards are full of fat, and his marrow is diffused throughout him.	ўтр0ба же є3гw2 и3сп0лнена тyка, м0згъ же є3гw2 разливaетсz.

And another dies in bitterness of soul, not eating any good thing.	Џвъ же ўмирaетъ въ г0рести души2, не kдhй ничт0же блaга.

But they lie down in the earth together, and corruption covers them.	Вкyпэ же на земли2 спsтъ, гни1лость же и5хъ покры2.

So I know you, that ye presumptuously attack me:	Тёмже вёмъ вaсъ, ћкw дeрзостію належитe ми,

so that ye will say, Where is the house of the prince? and where is the covering of the tabernacles of the ungodly?	ћкw речeте: гдё є3сть д0мъ кнsжь; и3 гдё є3сть покр0въ селeній нечести1выхъ;

Ask those that go by the way, and do not disown their tokens.	Вопроси1те мимоходsщихъ путeмъ, и3 знaмєніz и4хъ не ч{жда сотвори1те.

For the wicked hastens to the day of destruction: they shall be led away for the day of his vengeance.	Ћкw на дeнь пaгубы соблюдaетсz нечести1вый, и3 въ дeнь гнёва є3гw2 tведeнъ бyдетъ.

Who will tell him his way to his face, whereas he has done it? who shall recompense him?	Кто2 возвэсти1тъ пред8 лицeмъ є3гw2 пyть є3гw2, и3 є4же т0й сотвори2, кто2 воздaстъ є3мY;

And he has been led away to the tombs, and he has watched over the heaps.	И# т0й во гр0бъ tнесeнъ бhсть, и3 на гроби1щихъ побдЁ.

Is it not the Lord that teaches understanding and knowledge?	не гDь ли є4сть научazй рaзуму и3 хи1трости;

For what matters it to the Lord, if thou wert blameless in thy works? or is it profitable that thou shouldest perfect thy way?	И$бо к0е попечeніе гDу, ѓще ты2 бhлъ є3си2 дёлы непор0ченъ; и3ли2 (кaz) п0льза, ћкw пр0стъ твори1ти бyдеши пyть тв0й;

Wilt thou maintain and plead thine own cause? and will he enter into judgment with thee?	и3ли2 њпасeніе и3мёz t тебє2 њбличи1тъ тS и3 вни1детъ съ тоб0ю въ сyдъ;

Is not thy wickedness abundant, and thy sins innumerable?	Е#дA ѕл0ба твоS є4сть не мн0га; безчи1сленніи же твои2 сyть грэси2;

And thou hast taken security of thy brethren for nothing, and hast taken away the clothing of the naked.	Въ зал0гъ бо и3мaлъ є3си2 t брaтіи твоеS вотщE, nдeжду же наги1хъ tнимaлъ є3си2,

Neither hast thou given water to the thirsty to drink, but hast taken away the morsel of the hungry.	нижE вод0ю жaждущихъ напои1лъ є3си2, но ѓлчущихъ лиши1лъ є3си2 хлёба:

And thou hast accepted the persons of some; and thou hast established those that were already settled on the earth.	ўдивлsлсz же є3си2 нёкихъ лицY и3 повергaлъ є3си2 ўб0гихъ на земли2:

But thou hast sent widows away empty, and hast afflicted orphans.	вдови6цы же tпусти1лъ є3си2 тщы2 и3 сирwты2 њѕл0билъ є3си2.

Therefore snares have compassed thee, and disastrous war has troubled thee.	Сегw2 рaди њбыд0ша тS сBти, и3 поспэши2 на тS рaть вели1ка:

The light has proved darkness to thee, and water has covered thee on thy lying down.	свётъ тебЁ тмA бhсть, ўснyвшаго же водa тz покры2.

Does not he that dwells in the high places observe? and has he not brought down the proud?	Е#дA на выс0кихъ живhй не призирaетъ; ўкори1зною же возносsщихсz смири2.

And thou hast said, What does the Mighty One know? does he judge in the dark?	И# рeклъ є3си2: что2 разумЁ крёпкій; и3ли2 во мрaцэ разсyдитъ;

A cloud is his hiding-place, and he shall not be seen; and he passes through the circle of heaven.	W$блакъ покр0въ є3гw2, и3 неуви1димь бyдетъ, и3 крyгъ небесE њбх0дитъ.

Wilt thou not mark the old way, which righteous men have trodden?	Е#дA стезю2 дрeвнюю сохрани1ши, въ ню1же ходи1ша мyжіе непрaведни,

who were seized before their time: their foundations are as an overflowing stream.	и5же ћти бhша прeжде врeмене; рэкA текyщаz њснов†ніz и4хъ,

Who say, What will the Lord do to us? or what will the Almighty bring upon us?	глаг0лющіи: что2 сотвори1тъ нaмъ гDь; и3ли2 что2 нанесeтъ на ны2 вседержи1тель;

Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from him.	И$же и3сп0лнилъ є4сть д0мы и4хъ благи1ми: совётъ же нечести1выхъ далeче t негw2.

The righteous have seen it, and laughed, and the blameless one has derided them.	Ви1дэвше прaвєдницы возсмэsшасz, непор0ченъ же глумлsшесz и5мъ:

Verily their substance has been utterly destroyed, and the fire shall devour what is left of their property.	не поги1бе ли и3мёніе и4хъ, и3 њстaнки и4хъ поsстъ џгнь;

Be firm, I pray thee, if thou canst endure; then thy fruit shall prosper.	Бyди u5бо твeрдъ, ѓще претерпи1ши, пот0мъ пл0дъ тв0й бyдетъ во благи1хъ.

And receive a declaration from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.	Пріими1 же и3з8 ќстъ є3гw2 и3зрэчeніе и3 воспріими2 словесA є3гw2 въ сeрдце твоE.

And if thou shalt turn and humble thyself before the Lord, thou hast thus removed unrighteousness far from thy habitation.	Ѓще же њбрати1шисz и3 смири1ши себE пред8 гDемъ, и3 далeче сотвори1ши t жили1ща твоегw2 непрaвду,

Thou shalt lay up for thyself treasure in a heap on the rock; and Sophir shall be as the rock of the torrent.	и3 положeнъ бyдеши на пeрсти въ кaмени, и3 ћкоже кaмень пот0ка њфjрска.

So the Almighty shall be thy helper from enemies, and he shall bring thee forth pure as silver that has been tried by fire.	Бyдетъ u5бо тебЁ вседержи1тель пом0щникъ t вр†гъ, чи1ста же сотвори1тъ тS ћкоже сребро2 разжжeно,

Then shalt thou have boldness before the Lord, looking up cheerfully to heaven.	пот0мъ дерзновeніе воз8имёеши пред8 бGомъ, воззрёвъ вeселw на нeбо.

And he shall hear thee when thou prayest to him, and he shall grant thee power to pay thy vows.	Пом0льшусz же тебЁ къ немY, ўслhшитъ тS, дaстъ же ти2 њбёты тво‰ воздaти,

And he shall establish to thee again a habitation of righteousness and there shall be light upon thy paths.	ўстр0итъ же ти2 жили1ще прaвды, на путeхъ же твои1хъ бyдетъ свётъ:

Because thou hast humbled thyself; and thou shalt say, Man has behaved proudly, but he shall save him that is of lowly eyes.	ћкw смири1лъ є3си2 себE, тогдA речeши: вознесeсz, и3 пони1кша nчи1ма спасeтъ,

He shall deliver the innocent, and do thou save thyself by thy pure hands.	и3збaвитъ непови1ннаго, и3 спасeшисz чи1стыма рукaма твои1ма.

Though he should come on me in his great strength, then he would not threaten me;	И# ѓще со мн0гою крёпостію нaйдетъ на мS, посeмъ же не воспрети1тъ ми2.

for truth and reproof are from him; and he would bring forth my judgment to an end.	И$стина бо и3 њбличeніе t негw2: да и3зведeтъ же въ конeцъ сyдъ м0й.

For if I shall go first, and exist no longer, still what do I know concerning the latter end?	Ѓще бо во пeрвыхъ пойдY, ктомY нёсмь: въ послёднихъ же, кaкw вёмъ є3го2;

When he wrought on the left hand, then I observed it not: his right hand shall encompass me but I shall not see it.	њшyюю творsщу є3мY, и3 не разумёхъ: њбложи1тъ њдеснyю, и3 не ўзрю2.

And if too he has thus judged, who is he that has contradicted, for he has both willed a thing and done it.	Ѓще же и3 сaмъ суди1лъ тaкw, кт0 є3сть рекjй проти1ву є3мY; сaмъ бо восхотЁ и3 сотвори2.

They have led away the ass of the fatherless, and taken the widow's ox for a pledge.	Под8zрeмника си1рыхъ tвед0ша и3 волA вдови1ча въ зал0гъ взsша:

They have turned aside the weak from the right way: and the meek of the earth have hidden themselves together.	ўклони1ша немощнhхъ t пути2 првdнагw, вкyпэ же скрhшасz кр0тцыи земли2:

And they have departed like asses in the field, having gone forth on my account according to their own order: his bread is sweet to his little ones.	и3зыд0ша же, ћкw nсли2 на село2, на мS, и3зступи1вше своегw2 чи1на: слaдокъ бhсть хлёбъ и5мъ рaди ю4ныхъ.

They have reaped a field that was not their own before the time: the poor have laboured in the vineyards of the ungodly without pay and without food.	Ни1ву прeжде врeмене не свою2 сyщу пожaша, немощнjи же віногрaдъ нечести1выхъ без8 мзды2 и3 без8 брaшна воздёлаша:

They have caused many naked to sleep without clothes, and they have taken away the covering of their body.	наги1хъ мн0гихъ ўспи1ша без8 ри1зъ, nдeжду же души2и4хъ tsша:

They are wet with the drops of the mountains: they have embraced the rock, because they had no shelter.	кaплzми г0рскими м0кнутъ, занeже не и3мёzху покр0ва, въ кaменіе њблек0шасz:

They have snatched the fatherless from the breast, and have afflicted the outcast.	восхи1тиша сиротY t сосцA, пaдшаго же смири1ша:

And they have wrongfully caused others to sleep without clothing, and taken away the morsel of the hungry.	наг‡z же ўспи1ша непрaведнw, t ѓлчущихъ же хлёбъ tsша:

They have unrighteously laid wait in narrow places, and have not known the righteous way.	въ тэсни1нахъ непрaведнw засэд0ша, пути1 же првdнагw не вёдэша.

Who have cast forth the poor from the city and their own houses, and the soul of the children has groaned aloud.	И%же и3з8 грaда и3 и3з8 домHвъ свои1хъ и3згони1ми бывaху, душa же младeнцєвъ стенsше вельми2: бGъ же почто2 си1хъ посэщeніz не сотвори2;

Why then has he not visited these? forasmuch as they were upon the earth, and took no notice, and they knew not the way of righteousness, neither have they walked in their appointed paths?	На земли2 сyщымъ и5мъ, и3 не разумёша, пути1 же првdнагw не вёдэша, ни по стезsмъ є3гw2 ходи1ша.

But having known their works, he delivered them into darkness: and in the night one will be as a thief:	Разумёвъ же и4хъ дэлA, предадE и5хъ во тмY, и3 въ нощи2 бyдетъ ћкw тaть.

and the eye of the adulterer has watched for the darkness, saying, Eye shall not perceive me, and he puts a covering on his face.	И# џко прелюбодёz сохрани2 тмY, глаг0лz: не ќзритъ мS џко: и3 покрывaло лицY наложи2.

In darkness he digs through houses: by day they conceal themselves securely: they know not the light.	ПрокопA въ нощи2 хр†мины, во днeхъ же запечатлёша себE, не познaша свёта:

For the morning is to them all as the shadow of death, for each will be conscious of the terror of the shadow of death.	ћкw ѓбіе заyтра и5мъ сёнь смeрти, понeже познaетъ мzтeжъ сёни смeртныz.

Then is his sin brought to remembrance, and he vanishes like a vapour of dew: but let what he has done be recompensed to him, and let every unrighteous one be crushed like rotten wood. For he has not treated the barren woman well, and has had no pity on a feeble woman.	непл0днэй бо не добро2 сотвори2 и3 жены2 не поми1лова.

And in wrath he has overthrown the helpless: therefore when he has arisen, a man will not feel secure of his own life.	Ћростію же низврати2 немwщнhz: востaвъ u5бо не и4мать вёры ћти њ своeмъ житіи2.

When he has fallen sick, let him not hope to recover: but let him perish by disease.	Е#гдa же разболи1тсz, да не надёетсz здрaвъ бhти, но падeтъ недyгомъ.

He keeps back the face of his throne, stretching out his cloud upon it.	держaй лицE прест0ла, простирaz над8 ни1мъ w4блакъ св0й:

He has encompassed the face of the water by an appointed ordinance, until the end of light and darkness.	повелёніе њкружи2 на лицE воды2 дaже до скончaніz свёта со тм0ю.

The pillars of heaven are prostrate and astonished at his rebuke.	Столпи2 небeсніи простр0шасz и3 ўжас0шасz t запрещeніz є3гw2.

He has calmed the sea with his might, and by his wisdom the whale has been overthrown.	Крёпостію ўкроти2 м0ре, и3 хи1тростію є3гw2 низложeнъ бhсть ки1тъ:

And the barriers of heaven fear him, and by a command he has slain the apostate dragon.	верєи1 же небє1сныz ўбоsшасz є3гw2: повелёніемъ же ўмертви2 ѕмjа tстyпника.

but keeping fast to my righteousness I will by no means let it go: for I am not conscious to myself of having done any thing amiss.	Прaвдэ же внимaz, не њстaвлю є3S, не свёмъ бо себE ѕлhхъ содёлавша.

Nay rather, but let mine enemies be as the overthrow of the ungodly, and they that rise up against me, as the destruction of transgressors.	Nбaче же, дабы2 бhли врази2 мои2, ћкоже низвращeніе нечести1выхъ, и3 востаю1щіи на мS, ћкоже пaгуба пребеззак0нныхъ.

For what is the hope of the ungodly, that he holds to it? will he indeed trust in the Lord and be saved?	И# кaz бо є4сть надeжда нечести1вому, ћкw њжидaетъ; надёzсz на гDа спасeтсz ли;

Will God hear his prayer? or, when distress has come upon him,	и3ли2 мольбY є3гw2 ўслhшитъ бGъ; и3ли2 нашeдшей є3мY бэдЁ,

has he any confidence before him? or will God hear him as he calls upon him?	є3дA и4мать к0е дерзновeніе пред8 ни1мъ; и3ли2 ћкw призвaвшу є3мY, ўслhшитъ ли є3го2;

Yet now I will tell you what is in the hand of the Lord: I will not lie concerning the things which are with the Almighty.	Сегw2 рaди возвэщY вaмъ, что2 є4сть въ руцЁ гDни, и3, є4же є4сть ў вседержи1телz, не солжY.

Behold, ye all know that ye are adding vanity to vanity.	СE, вси2 вёсте, ћкw тщє1тнаz ко тщє1тнымъ прилагaете.

This is the portion of an ungodly man from the Lord, and the possession of oppressors shall come upon them from the Almighty.	СіS чaсть человёка нечести1вагw t гDа: и3 жрeбій си1льныхъ пріи1детъ t вседержи1телz на нS.

And if their children be many, they shall be for slaughter: and if they grow up, they shall beg.	Ѓще мн0зи бyдутъ сhнове и4хъ, на заколeніе бyдутъ:ѓще же и3 возмужaютъ, ни1щы бyдутъ:

And they that survive of him shall utterly perish, and no one shall pity their widows.	њстaвшіисz же є3мY смeртію ќмрутъ, и3 вдови1цъ и4хъ никт0же поми1луетъ.

Even if he should gather silver as earth, and prepare gold as clay;	Ѓще соберeтъ ћкоже зeмлю сребро2, и3 ћкоже брeніе ўгот0витъ злaто,

The rich man shall lie down, and shall not continue: he has opened his eyes, and he is not.	Богaтый ќснетъ и3 не приложи1тъ, џчи свои2 tвeрзе, и3 нёсть.

Pains have come upon him as water, and darkness has carried him away by night.	Њбыд0ша є3го2 ћкоже водA бwлёзни, н0щію же ћтъ є3го2 примрaкъ.

And a burning wind shall catch him, and he shall depart, and it shall utterly drive him out of his place.	В0зметъ же є3го2 вaръ, и3 tи1детъ, и3 возвёетъ є3го2 t мёста є3гw2,

For there is a place for the silver, whence it comes, and a place for the gold, whence it is refined.	Е$сть бо сребрY мёсто, toнyдуже и3 бывaетъ, и3 мёсто злaту, toнyдуже њчищaетсz.

For iron comes out of the earth, and brass is hewn out like stone.	Желёзо бо и3з8 земли2 раждaетсz, мёдь же рaвнw кaменію сэчeтсz.

A mortal has not known its way, neither indeed has it been discovered among men.	Не вёсть человёкъ пути2 є3S, нижE њбрётесz въ человёцэхъ.

One shall not give fine gold instead of it, neither shall silver be weighed in exchange for it.	Не дaстсz сокр0вище за ню2, и3 не и3звёситсz сребро2 на и3змэнeніе є3S,

Neither shall it be compared with gold of Sophir, with the precious onyx and sapphire.	и3 не сравни1тсz со злaтомъ сwфjрскимъ, со џнmxомъ честнhмъ и3 сапфjромъ:

Gold and crystal shall not be equalled to it, neither shall vessels of gold be its exchange.	не рaвно бyдетъ є4й злaто и3 крmстaль, и3 и3змэнeніе є3S сосyди злaти.

Coral and fine pearl shall not be mentioned: but do thou esteem wisdom above the most precious things.	ПревысHкаz и3 би1серіе не помsнутсz, и3 притzжи2 премyдрость пaче внyтреннэйшихъ:

The topaz of Ethiopia shall not be equalled to it; it shall not be compared with pure gold.	не ўравни1тсz є4й топaзій є3fі0пскій, со злaтомъ чи1стымъ не сравни1тсz.

Whence then is wisdom found? and of what kind is the place of understanding?	Премyдрость же tкyду њбрётесz; и3 к0е мёсто є4сть рaзуму;

For I saved the poor out of the hand of the oppressor, and helped the fatherless who had no helper.	Спас0хъ бо ўб0гаго t руки2 си1льнагw, и3 сиротЁ, є3мyже не бЁ пом0щника, помог0хъ.

Let the blessing of the perishing one come upon me; yea, the mouth of the widow has blessed me.	Благословeніе погибaющагw на мS да пріи1детъ, ўстa же вдwви1ча благослови1ша мS.

Also I put on righteousness, and clothed myself with judgment like a mantle.	Въ прaвду же њблачaхсz, њдэвaхсz же въ сyдъ ћкw въ ри1зу.

I was the eye of the blind, and the foot of the lame.	Џко бёхъ слэпы6мъ, ногa же хромhмъ:

I was the father of the helpless; and I searched out the cause which I knew not.	ѓзъ бhхъ nтeцъ немwщнhмъ, рaспрю же, є3sже не вёдzхъ, и3зслёдихъ:

And I broke the jaw-teeth of the unrighteous; I plucked the spoil out of the midst of their teeth.	сотр0хъ же членHвныz непрaведныхъ, t средh же зубHвъ и4хъ граблeніе и3з8sхъ.

And I said, My age shall continue as the stem of a palm-tree; I shall live a long while.	Рёхъ же: в0зрастъ м0й состарёетсz ћкоже стебло2 фjніково, мнHга лBта поживY.

My root was spread out by the water, and the dew would lodge on my crop.	К0рень развeрзесz при водЁ, и3 росA пребyдетъ на жaтвэ моeй.

My glory was fresh in me, and my bow prospered in his hand.	Слaва моS н0ва со мн0ю, и3 лyкъ м0й въ руцЁ моeй п0йдетъ.

Men heard me, and gave heed, and they were silent at my counsel.	(СтарBйшины) слhшавшіи мS внимaху, молчaху же њ моeмъ совётэ.

At my word they spoke not again, and they were very glad whenever I spoke to them.	Къ моемY глаг0лу не прилагaху, рaдовахусz же, є3гдA къ ни6мъ глаг0лахъ:

As the thirsty earth expecting the rain, so they waited for my speech.	ћкоже землS жaждущаz њжидaетъ дождS, тaкw сjи моегw2 глаг0ланіz.

Were I to laugh on them, they would not believe it; and the light of my face has not failed.	Ѓще возсмэю1сz къ ни6мъ, не вёриша: и3 свётъ лицA моегw2 не tпадaше.

I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the midst of warriors, as one comforting mourners.	И#збрaхъ пyть и4хъ, и3 сэдёхъ кнsзь, и3 вселsхсz ћкоже цaрь посредЁ хрaбрыхъ, ѓки ўтэшazй печaльныхъ.

But now the youngest have laughed me to scorn, now they reprove me in their turn, whose fathers I set at nought; whom I did not deem worthy to be with my shepherd dogs.	Нн7э же поругaшамисz малёйшіи: нн7э ўчaтъ мS t чaсти, и4хже nтцє1въ ўничтожaхъ, и4хже не вмэнsхъ дост0йными псHвъ мои1хъ стaдъ.

Yea, why had I the strength of their hands? for them the full term of life was lost.	Крёпость же рyкъ и4хъ во что2 мнЁ бhсть; ў ни1хъ погибaше скончaніе.

One is childless in want and famine, such as they that fled but lately the distress and misery of drought.	Въ скyдости и3 глaдэ безпл0денъ: и5же бэжaху въ безв0дное вчерA сотэснeніе и3 бёдность:

Who compass the salt places on the sounding shore, who had salt herbs for their food, and were dishonourable and of no repute, in want of every good thing; who also ate roots of trees by reason of great hunger.	и5же њбхождaху бhліе въ дeбрехъ, и5мже бhліе бsше брaшно, безчeстніи же и3 похулeнніи, скyдни всsкагw блaга, и5же и3 корeніе древeсъ жвaху t глaда вели1кагw.

Thieves have risen up against me,	Востaша на мS тaтіе,

whose houses were the caves of the rocks, who lived under the wild shrubs.	и4хже д0мове бёша пещє1ры кaмєнны:

They will cry out among the rustling bushes.	t среды2 доброглaсныхъ возопію1тъ, и5же под8 хврaстіемъ ди1віимъ живsху:

They are sons of fools and vile men, whose name and glory are quenched from off the earth.	безyмныхъ сhнове и3 безчeстныхъ, и4мz и3 слaва ўгашeна на земли2.

But now I am their music, and they have me for a by-word.	Нн7э же гyсли є4смь ѓзъ и5мъ, и3 менE въ при1тчу и4мутъ:

And they stood aloof and abhorred me, and spared not to spit in my face.	возгнушaлисz же мн0ю tступи1вше далeче, ни лицA моегw2 пощадёша t плюновeніz.

For he has opened his quiver and afflicted me: they also have cast off the restraint of my presence.	Tвeрзъ бо тyлъ св0й ўzзви1 мz, и3 ўздY ўстaмъ мои6мъ наложи2.

They have risen up against me on the right hand of their offspring; they have stretched out their foot, and directed against me the ways of their destruction.	На деснyю tрaсли востaша, н0зэ свои2 простр0ша и3 путесотвори1ша на мS стєзи2 пaгубы своеS.

My paths are ruined; for they have stripped off my raiment: he has shot at me with his weapons.	Сотр0шасz стєзи2 мо‰, совлек0ша бо ми2 nдeжду.

And he has pleaded against me as he will: I am overwhelmed with pains.	Стрэлaми свои1ми ўстрэли1 мz: сотвори1 ми, ћкоже восхотЁ: въ болёзнехъ скис0хсz, њбращaютсz же ми2 скHрби.

My pains return upon me; my hope is gone like the wind, and my safety as a cloud.	Tи1де ми2 надeжда ћкоже вётръ, и3 ћкоже w4блакъ спасeніе моE.

Even now my life shall be poured forth upon me; and days of anguish seize me.	И# нн7э на мS и3зліeтсz душA моS: и3 њдержaтъ мS днjе печaлей:

And by night my bones are confounded; and my sinews are relaxed.	н0щію же кHсти мо‰ смzт0шасz, жи6лы же мо‰ разслабёша.

With great force my disease has taken hold of my garment: it has compassed me as the collar of my coat.	Мн0гою крёпостію ћтсz за ри1зу мою2: ћкоже њжерeліе ри1зы моеS њб8s мz.

And thou hast counted me as clay; my portion is in dust and ashes.	Вмэнsеши же мS рaвна брeнію, въ земли2 и3 пeпелэ чaсть моS.

And I have cried to thee, but thou hearest me not: but they stood still, and observed me.	Возопи1хъ же къ тебЁ, и3 не ўслhшалъ мS є3си2: стaша же и3 смотри1ша на мS.

They attacked me also without mercy: thou hast scourged me with a strong hand.	Наид0ша же на мS без8 ми1лости, рук0ю крёпкою ўzзви1лъ мS є3си2:

And thou hast put me to grief, and hast cast me away from safety.	вчини1лъ же мS є3си2 въ болёзнехъ и3 tвeрглъ є3си2 мS t спасeніz.

For I know that death will destroy me: for the earth is the house appointed for every mortal.	Вёмъ бо, ћкw смeрть мS сотрeтъ: д0мъ бо всsкому смeртну землS.

Oh then that I might lay hands upon myself, or at least ask another, and he should do this for me.	Ѓще бы возм0жно бhло, сaмъ бhхъ себE ўби1лъ, и3ли2 моли1лъ бhхъ и3н0го, дабы2 ми2 то2 сотвори1лъ.

Yet I wept over every helpless man; I groaned when I saw a man in distress.	Ѓзъ же њ всsцэмъ немощнёмъ восплaкахсz, воздохнyхъ же ви1дэвъ мyжа въ бэдaхъ.

But I, when I waited for good things, behold, days of evils came the more upon me.	Ѓзъ же ждaхъ благи1хъ, и3 сE, срэт0ша мS пaче днjе ѕHлъ.

My belly boiled, and would not cease: the days of poverty prevented me.	Чрeво моE воскипЁ и3 не ўмолчи1тъ: предвари1ша мS днjе нищеты2.

I went mourning without restraint: and I have stood and cried out in the assembly.	СтенS ходи1хъ без8 њбуздaніz, стоsхъ же въ соб0рэ вопіS.

I am become a brother of monsters, and a companion of ostriches.	Брaтъ бhхъ сjринамъ, дрyгъ же пти1чій.

I made a covenant with mine eyes, and I will not think upon a virgin.	Завётъ положи1хъ nчи1ма мои1ма, да не помhшлю на дэви1цу.

Now what portion has God given from above? and is there an inheritance given of the Mighty One from the highest?	И# что2 ўдэли2 бGъ свhше, и3 наслёдіе всеси1льнагw t вhшнихъ;

Alas! destruction to the unrighteous, and rejection to them that do iniquity.	Ўвы2, пaгуба неправди1вому и3 tчуждeніе творsщымъ беззак0ніе.

Will he not see my way, and number all my steps?	Не сaмъ ли ќзритъ пyть м0й и3 вс‰ стwпы2 мо‰ и3зочтeтъ;

But if I had gone with scorners, and if too my foot has hasted to deceit:	Ѓще ходи1хъ съ посмэsтєли, и3 ѓще потщaсz ногA моS на лeсть,

(for I am weighed in a just balance, and the Lord knows my innocence:)	стaхъ бо на мёрилэ прaведнэ, ви1дэ же гDь неѕл0біе моE.

if my foot has turned aside out of the way, or if mine heart has followed mine eye, and if too I have touched gifts with my hands;	Ѓще ўклони1сz ногA моS t пути2, ѓще и3 в8слёдъ џка моегw2 и4де сeрдце моE, и3 ѓще рукaма мои1ма прикоснyхсz дарHвъ,

then let me sow, and let others eat; and let me be uprooted on the earth.	да посёю ќбw, ґ и3нjи да поzдsтъ, без8 к0рене же да бhхъ бhлъ на земли2.

If my heart has gone forth after another man's wife, and if I laid wait at her doors;	Ѓще в8слёдъ и4де сeрдце моE жены2 мyжа и3нaгw, и3 ѓще присэдsй бhхъ при двeрехъ є3S,

then let my wife also please another, and let my children be brought low.	ўг0дна u5бо бyди и3 женA моS и3н0му мyжу, младeнцы же мои2 смирeни да бyдутъ:

For the rage of anger is not to be controlled, in the case of defiling another man's wife.	ћрость бо гнёва не ўдержaна, є4же њскверни1ти мyжа и3нaгw женY:

For it is a fire burning on every side, and whomsoever it attacks, it utterly destroys.	џгнь бо є4сть горsй на вс‰ страны6, и3дёже нaйдетъ, и3з8 корeніz погуби1тъ.

And if too I despised the judgment of my servant or my handmaid, when they pleaded with me;	Ѓще же презрёхъ сyдъ рабA моегw2 и3ли2 рабhни, прsщымсz и5мъ предо мн0ю:

what then shall I do if the Lord should try me? and if also he should at all visit me, can I make an answer?	чт0 бо сотворю2, ѓще и3спытaніе сотвори1тъ ми2 гDь; ѓще же и3 посэщeніе, кjй tвётъ сотворю2;

Were not they too formed as I also was formed in the womb? yea, we were formed in the same womb.	Е#дA не ћкоже и3 ѓзъ бёхъ во чрeвэ, и3 тjи бhша; бёхомъ же въ т0мже чрeвэ.

But the helpless missed not whatever need they had, and I did not cause the eye of the widow to fail.	Немощнjи же, ѓще когдA чесогw2 трeбоваху, не не получи1ша, вдови1ча же џка не презрёхъ.

And if too I ate my morsel alone, and did not impart of it to the orphan;	Ѓще же и3 хлёбъ м0й kд0хъ є3ди1нъ и3 си1рому не преподaхъ t негw2:

(for I nourished them as a father from my youth, and guided them from my mother's womb.)	понeже t ю4ности моеS корми1хъ ћкоже nтeцъ, и3 t чрeва мaтере моеS наставлsхъ:

And if too I overlooked the naked as he was perishing, and did not clothe him;	ѓще же презрёхъ нaга погибaюща и3 не њблек0хъ є3гw2:

and if the poor did not bless me, and their shoulders were not warmed with the fleece of my lambs;	немощнjи же ѓще не благослови1ша мS, t стрижeніz же ѓгнцєвъ мои1хъ согрёшасz плещы2 и4хъ:

if I lifted my hand against an orphan, trusting that my strength was far superior to his:	ѓще воздвиг0хъ на сиротY рyку, надёzсz, ћкw мн0га п0мощь мнЁ є4сть:

let then my shoulder start from the blade-bone, and my arm be crushed off from the elbow.	да tпадeтъ u5бо рaмо моE t состaва, мhшца же моS t лaктz да сокруши1тсz:

For the fear of the Lord constrained me, and I cannot bear up by reason of his burden.	стрaхъ бо гDень њб8s мz, и3 t тsгости є3гw2 не стерплю2.

If I made gold my treasure, and if too I trusted the precious stone;	Ѓще вчини1хъ злaто въ крёпость мою2 и3 ѓще на кaмєніz многоцBннаz надёzхсz,

and if too I rejoiced when my wealth was abundant, and if too I laid my hand on innumerable treasures:	ѓще же и3 возвесели1хсz, мн0гу ми2 богaтству сyщу, ѓще же и3 на безчи1сленныхъ положи1хъ рyку мою2:

(do we not see the shining sun eclipsed, and the moon waning? for they have not power to continue:)	и3ли2 не ви1димъ с0лнца возсіsвшагw њскудэвaюща, лунh же ўмалsющіzсz; не въ ни1хъ бо є4сть:

and if my heart was secretly deceived, and if I have laid my hand upon my mouth and kissed it:	и3 ѓще прельсти1сz w4тай сeрдце моE, ѓще и3 рyку мою2 положи1въ на ўстaхъ мои1хъ лобзaхъ:

let this also then be reckoned to me as the greatest iniquity: for I should have lied against the Lord Most High.	и3 сіe ми u5бо въ беззак0ніе превeліе да вмэни1тсz, ћкw солгaхъ пред8 бGомъ вhшнимъ.

And if too I was glad at the fall of mine enemies, and mine heart said, Aha!	Ѓще же њбрaдовахсz њ падeніи вр†гъ мои1хъ, и3 речE сeрдце моE: блaгоже, блaгоже:

let then mine ear hear my curse, and let me be a by-word among my people in my affliction.	да ўслhшитъ u5бо ќхо моE клsтву мою2, њѕлослaвленъ же да бyду t людjй мои1хъ њѕлоблsемь.

And if too my handmaids have often said, Oh that we might be satisfied with his flesh; (whereas I was very kind:	Ѓще же и3 мн0гажды рёша рабы6ни мо‰: кто2 ќбw дaлъ бы нaмъ t пл0тей є3гw2 насhтитисz, ѕэлw2 мнЁ блaгу сyщу;

for the stranger did not lodge without, and my door was opened to every one that came:)	И# внЁ не водворsшесz стрaнникъ, двeрь же моS всsкому приходsщему tвeрста бЁ.

or if too having sinned unintentionally, I hid my sin;	Ѓще же и3 согрэшaz нев0лею, скрhхъ грёхъ м0й:

(for I did not stand in awe of a great multitude, so as not to declare boldly before them:) and if too I permitted a poor man to go out of my door with an empty bosom:	не посрами1хсz бо нар0днагw мн0жества, є4же не повёдати пред8 ни1ми: ѓще же и3 њстaвихъ малом0щнаго и3зhти и3з8 двeрій мои1хъ тщи1мъ нёдромъ: (ѓще бы не ўбоsлсz).

(Oh that I had a hearer,) and if I had not feared the hand of the Lord; and as to the written charge which I had against any one,	Кто2 дaстъ слyшающаго менE; руки1 же гDни ѓще бhхъ не ўбоsлсz, писaніе же, є4же и3мёхъ на кого2,

I would place it as a chaplet on my shoulders, and read it.	на плещaхъ возложи1въ ѓки вэнeцъ, читaхъ,

And if I did not read it and return it, having taken nothing from the debtor:	и3 ѓще не раздрaвъ є3гw2 tдaхъ, ничт0же взeмъ t должникA:

If at any time the land groaned against me, and if its furrows mourned together;	ѓще на мS когдA землS возстенA, ѓще и3 бразды6 є3S восплaкашасz вкyпэ:

and if I ate its strength alone without price, and if too I grieved the heart of the owner of the soil, by taking aught from him:	ѓще и3 си1лу є3S kд0хъ є3ди1нъ без8 цэны2, и3ли2 ѓще и3 дyшу господи1на земли2 взeмъ њскорби1хъ:

then let the nettle come up to me instead of wheat, and a bramble instead of barley. And Job ceased speaking.	вмёстw пшени1цы да взhдетъ ми2 кропи1ва, ґ вмёстw kчмeнz тeрніе.

And his three friends also ceased any longer to answer Job: for Job was righteous before them.	И# ўмолчA јwвъ словесы2. Ўмолчaша же и3 тріE дрyзіе є3гw2 ктомY прерэковaти јwву, бЁ бо јwвъ првdнъ пред8 ни1ми.

Then Elius the son of Barachiel, the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram, of the country of Ausis, was angered: and he was very angry with Job, because he justified himself before the Lord.	Разгнёвасz же є3ліyсъ сhнъ варахіи1левъ вузjтzнинъ, t ќжичества ґрaмска ґvсітідjйскіz страны2, разгнёвасz же на јwва ѕэлw2, занeже наречE себE првdна пред8 бGомъ,

And he was also very angry with his three friends, because they were not able to return answers to Job, yet set him down for an ungodly man.	и3 на тріeхъ же другHвъ разгнёвасz ѕэлw2, ћкw не возмог0ша tвэщaти проти1ву јwву и3 суди1ша є3го2 бhти нечести1ва.

But Elius had forborne to give an answer to Job, because they were older than he.	Е#ліyсъ же терпsше дaти tвётъ јwву, ћкw старёйшіи є3гw2 сyть дeньми (дрyзіе є3гw2).

And Elius saw that there was no answer in the mouth of the three men; and he was angered in his wrath.	И# ви1дэ є3ліyсъ, ћкw нёсть tвёта во ўстёхъ тріeхъ мужeй, и3 воз8zри1сz гнёвомъ свои1мъ.

And Elius the Buzite the son of Barachiel answered and said, I am younger in age, and ye are elder; wherefore I kept silence, fearing to declare to you my own knowledge. but there is a spirit in mortals; and the inspiration of the Almighty is that which teaches.	но дyхъ є4сть въ человёцэхъ, дыхaніе же вседержи1телево є4сть научaющее:

The long-lived are not wise as such; neither do the aged know judgment.	не многолётніи сyть премyдри, нижE стaріи вёдzтъ сyдъ:

Wherefore I said, Hear me, and I will tell you what I know.	тёмже рёхъ: послyшайте менE, и3 возвэщY вaмъ, ±же вёмъ, внуши1те глаг0лы мо‰:

Hearken to my words; for I will speak in your hearing, until ye shall have tried the matter with words:	рекy бо вaмъ послyшающымъ, д0ндеже и3спытaете словесA, и3 дaже вaсъ ўразумёю,

and I shall understand as far as you; and, behold, there was no one of you that answered Job his words in argument,	и3 сE, не бЁ јwва њбличazй, tвэщazй проти1внw глаг0лwмъ є3гw2 t вaсъ:

lest ye should say, We have found that we have added wisdom to the Lord.	да не речeте: њбрэт0хомъ премyдрость, гDеви приложи1вшесz:

And ye have commissioned a man to speak such words.	человёку же попусти1сте глаг0лати такwвaz словесA:

They were afraid, they answered no longer; they gave up their speaking.	ўжаснyшасz, не tвэщaша ктомY, њбетшaша t ни1хъ словесA:

I waited, (for I had not spoken,) because they stood still, they answered not.	терпёхъ, не глаг0лахъ бо, ћкw стaша, не tвэщaша, ћкw да tвэщaю и3 ѓзъ чaсть.

And Elius continued, and said, I will again speak,	Tвэщa же є3ліyсъ, глаг0лz:

for I am full of words, for the spirit of my belly destroys me.	пaки возглаг0лю, и3сп0лненъ бо є4смь словeсъ: ўбивaетъ бо мS дyхъ чрeва:

And my belly is as a skin of sweet wine bound up and ready to burst; or as a brazier's labouring bellows.	чрeво же моE ћкw мёхъ мстA врsща завsзанъ, и3ли2 ћкоже мёхъ ковaческій раст0ргнутый:

I will speak, that I may open my lips and relieve myself.	возглаг0лю, да почjю, tвeрзъ ўстA:

For truly I will not be awed because of man, nor indeed will I be confounded before a mortal.	человёка бо не постыждyсz, но нижE брeннагw посрамлю1сz:

For I know not how to respect persons: and if otherwise, even the moths would eat me.	не вёмъ бо чуди1тисz лицY: ѓще же ни2, то2 и3 менE м0ліе и3з8zдsтъ.

Howbeit hear, Job, my words, and hearken to my speech.	Но послyшай, јwве, словeсъ мои1хъ и3 бесёду мою2 внуши2:

For behold, I have opened my mouth, and my tongue has spoken.	сE бо, tверз0хъ ўстA мо‰, и3 возглаг0ла љзhкъ м0й:

My heart shall be found pure by my words; and the understanding of my lips shall meditate purity.	чи1сто сeрдце моE во словесёхъ, рaзумъ же ўстнY моє1ю чи6стаz ўразумёетъ:

The Divine Spirit is that which formed me, and the breath of the Almighty that which teaches me.	д¦ъ б9ій сотвори1вый мS, дыхaніе же вседержи1телево поучaющее мS:

If thou canst, give me an answer: wait therefore; stand against me, and I will stand against thee.	ѓще м0жеши, дaждь ми2 tвётъ къ си6мъ: потерпи2, стaни проти1ву менє2, и3 ѓзъ проти1ву тебє2.

But thou hast said in mine ears, (I have heard the voice of thy words;) because thou sayest, I am pure, not having sinned;	Nбaче рeклъ є3си2 во ќшы мои2, и3 глaсъ глагHлъ твои1хъ ўслhшахъ, занeже глаг0леши:

I am blameless, for I have not transgressed.	чи1стъ є4смь ѓзъ, не согрэшaz, непор0ченъ же є4смь, и4бо не беззак0нновахъ:

Yet he has discovered a charge against me, and he has reckoned me as an adversary.	заз0ръ же на мS њбрёте и3 мни1тъ мS, ћкw проти1вника себЁ:

And he has put my foot in the stocks, and has watched all my ways.	вложи1 же н0гу мою2 въ дрeво и3 надсмотрsлъ пути6 мо‰ вс‰.

For how sayest thou, I am righteous, yet he has not hearkened to me? for he that is above mortals is eternal.	Кaкw бо глаг0леши, ћкw прaвъ є4смь, и3 не послyша менE; Вёченъ бо є4сть, и4же над8 зємнhми.

But thou sayest, Why has he not heard every word of my cause?	Глаг0леши бо: чесw2 рaди прaвды моеS не ўслhша всsко сл0во;

For when the Lord speaks once, or a second time,	Е#ди1ною бо возглаг0летъ гDь, втор0е же во снЁ, и3ли2 въ поучeніи нощнёмъ,

sending a dream, or in the meditation of the night; (as when a dreadful alarm happens to fall upon men, in slumberings on the bed:)	и3ли2, ћкw є3гдA напaдаетъ стрaхъ лю1тъ на человёки, во дремaніихъ на л0жи:

then opens he the understanding of men: he scares them with such fearful visions:	тогдA tкрhетъ ќмъ человёческій, видёньми стрaха тацёми и5хъ ўстраши1тъ,

to turn a man from unrighteousness, and he delivers his body from a fall.	да возврати1тъ человёка t непрaвды, тёло же є3гw2t падeніz и3збaви,

He spares also his soul from death, and suffers him not to fall in war.	пощадё же дyшу є3гw2 t смeрти, є4же не пaсти є3мY на брaни.

And again, he chastens him with sickness on his bed, and the multitude of his bones is benumbed.	Пaки же њбличи2 є3го2 болёзнію на л0жи и3 мн0жество костeй є3гw2 разслaби:

And he shall not be able to take any food, though his soul shall desire meat;	всsкагw же брaшна пшени1чна не возм0жетъ пріsти, ґ душA є3гw2 ћди х0щетъ,

until his flesh shall be consumed, and he shall shew his bones bare.	д0ндеже согнію1тъ плHти є3гw2, и3 покaжетъ кHсти є3гw2 т0щz:

His soul also draws nigh to death, and his life is in Hades.	прибли1жисz же на смeрть душA є3гw2, и3 жив0тъ є3гw2 во ѓдэ.

Though there should be a thousand messengers of death, not one of them shall wound him: if he should purpose in his heart to turn to the Lord, and declare to man his fault, and shew his folly;	Ѓще бyдетъ тhсzща ѓгGлъ смертон0сныхъ, є3ди1нъ t ни1хъ не ўzзви1тъ є3го2: ѓще помhслитъ сeрдцемъ њбрати1тисz ко гDу, повёсть же человёку св0й заз0ръ, и3 безyміе своE покaжетъ,

he will support him, that he should not perish, and will restore his body as fresh plaster upon a wall; and he will fill his bones with marrow.	застyпитъ є5, є4же не впaсти є3мY въ смeрть, њбнови1тъ же тёло є3гw2 ћкоже поваплeніе на стэнЁ, кHсти же є3гw2 и3сп0лнитъ м0зга:

And he will make his flesh tender as that of a babe, and he will restore him among men in his full strength.	ўмzгчи1тъ же є3гw2 пл0ть ћкоже младeнца, и3 ўстр0итъ є3го2 возмужaвша въ человёцэхъ.

And he shall pray to the Lord, and his prayer shall be accepted of him; he shall enter with a cheerful countenance, with a full expression of praise: for he will render to men their due.	Пом0литсz же ко гDу и3 пріsтъ и4мъ бyдетъ, вни1детъ же лицeмъ весeлымъ со и3сповёданіемъ, воздaстъ же человёкwмъ прaвду свою2.

Even then a man shall blame himself, saying, What kind of things have I done? and he has not punished me according to the full amount of my sins.	Посeмъ тогдA зaзритъ человёкъ сaмъ себЁ, глаг0лz: kков†z содэвaхъ; и3 не по дост0инству и3стzзa мz, њ ни1хже согрэши1хъ:

Deliver my soul, that it may not go to destruction, and my life shall see the light.	спаси2 дyшу мою2, є4же не вни1ти во и3стлёніе, и3 жи1знь моS свётъ ќзритъ.

Behold, all these things the Mighty One works in a threefold manner with a man.	СE, сі‰ вс‰ твори1тъ крёпкій (бGъ) пути6 три2 съ мyжемъ:

And he has delivered my soul from death, that my life may praise him in the light.	но и3збaви дyшу мою2 t смeрти, да жив0тъ м0й во свётэ хвaлитъ є3го2.

Hearken, Job, and hear me: be silent, and I will speak.	Внимaй, јwве, и3 послyшай менE, премолчи2, и3 ѓзъ возглаг0лю:

If thou hast words, answer me: speak, for I desire thee to be justified.	и3 ѓще тебЁ сyть словесA, tвэщaй ми2: глаг0ли, хощy бо њправди1тисz тебЁ:

If not, do thou hear me: be silent, and I will teach thee.	ѓще же ни2, ты2 послyшай менE, ўмолчи2, и3 научy тz премyдрости.

And Elius continued, and said,	Tвэщaвъ же є3ліyсъ, речE:

Hear me, ye wise men; hearken, ye that have knowledge.	послyшайте менE, премyдріи: свёдущіи, внуши1те (д0брое),

For the ear tries words, and the mouth tastes meat.	ћкw ќхо словесA и3скушaетъ, гортaнь же вкушaетъ брaшна.

Let us choose judgment to ourselves: let us know among ourselves what is right.	Сyдъ и3зберeмъ себЁ, ўразумёемъ посредЁ себє2, что2 лyчшее.

For Job has said, I am righteous: the Lord has removed my judgment.	Ћкw речE јwвъ: првdнъ є4смь, гDь tsтъ ми2 сyдъ,

And he has erred in my judgment: my wound is severe without unrighteousness of mine.	солгa же судY моемY: наси1льна стрэлA моS без8 непрaвды.

What man is as Job, drinking scorning like water?	Кто2 мyжъ, ћкоже јwвъ, піsй поругaніе, ћкоже в0ду,

saying, I have not sinned, nor committed ungodliness, nor had fellowship with workers of iniquity, to go with the ungodly.	не согрэшaz, нижE нечeствовавъ, нижE приwбщи1всz къ творsщымъ беззакHніz, є4же ходи1ти съ нечести1выми;

For thou shouldest not say, There shall be no visitation of a man, whereas there is a visitation on him from the Lord.	Не рцh бо, ћкw нёсть посэщeніz мyжеви, и3 посэщeніz є3мY t гDа.

Wherefore hear me, ye that are wise in heart: far be it from me to sin before the Lord, and to pervert righteousness before the Almighty.	Тёмже, разуми1віи сeрдцемъ, послyшайте менE, не бyди ми2 пред8 гDемъ нечeствовати и3 пред8 вседержи1телемъ возмути1ти прaвду:

Yea, he renders to a man accordingly as each of them does, and in a man's path he will find him.	но воздаeтъ человёкови, ћкоже твори1тъ кjйждо и4хъ, и3 на стези2 мyжестэй њбрsщетъ и5.

And thinkest thou that the Lord will do wrong, or will the Almighty who made the earth wrest judgment?	Мни1ши же гDа нелBпаz сотвори1ти, и3ли2 вседержи1тель смzтeтъ сyдъ, и4же сотвори2 зeмлю;
13	13
And who is he that made the whole world under heaven, and all things therein?	Кт0 же є4сть творsй поднебeсную и3 ±же въ нeй всsчєскаz;

For if he would confine, and restrain his spirit with himself;	Ѓще бо восх0щетъ запрети1ти и3 дyхъ ў себє2 ўдержaти,

all flesh would die together, and every mortal would return to the earth, whence also he was formed.	ќмретъ всsка пл0ть вкyпэ, всsкъ же человёкъ въ зeмлю п0йдетъ, tню1дуже и3 с0зданъ бhсть.

Take heed lest he rebuke thee: hear this, hearken to the voice of words.	Ѓще же не ўвэщaешисz, послyшай си1хъ, внуши2 глaсъ глагHлъ.

Behold then the one that hates iniquities, and that destroys the wicked, who is for ever just.	Ви1ждь ты2 ненави1дzщаго беззакHннаz и3 губsщаго лук†выz, сyща, вёчна, првdна.

He is ungodly that says to a king, Thou art a transgressor, that says to princes, O most ungodly one.	Нечести1въ є4сть глаг0лzй царeви, зак0нъ преступaеши, нечести1вэйше, кнzзє1мъ:

Such a one as would not reverence the face of an honourable man, neither knows how to give honour to the great, so as that their persons should be respected.	и4же не постыдёсz лицA честнaгw, нижE вёсть чeсть возложи1ти си6льнымъ, ўдиви1тисz ли1цамъ и4хъ.

But it shall turn out vanity to them, to cry and beseech a man; for they dealt unlawfully, the poor being turned aside from their right.	Тщe же и5мъ сбyдетсz, є4же возопи1ти и3 моли1ти мyжа: занE ўпотреби1ша беззак0ннw, безчeстzще немощнhхъ.

For he surveys the works of men, and nothing of what they do has escaped him.	Т0й бо зри1тель є4сть дёлъ человёческихъ, ўтаи1сz же t негw2 ничт0же t тёхъ, ±же творsтъ:

Neither shall there be a place for the workers of iniquity to hide themselves.	нижE бyдетъ мёсто ўкрhтисz творsщымъ беззакHннаz:

For he will not lay upon a man more than right.	ћкw не на мyжа положи1тъ є3щE.

For the Lord looks down upon all men, who comprehends unsearchable things, glorious also and excellent things without number.	ГDь бо всёхъ ви1дитъ, постизazй неизслBднаz, сл†внаz же и3 и3зр‰днаz, и5мже нёсть числA,

Who discovers their works, and will bring night about upon them, and they shall be brought low.	свёдый и4хъ дэлA, и3 њбрати1тъ н0щь, и3 смирsтсz.

And he quite destroys the ungodly, for they are seen before him.	Ўгаси1 же нечести6выz, ви1дими же пред8 ни1мъ:

Because they turned aside from the law of God, and did not regard his ordinances,	ћкw ўклони1шасz t зак0на б9іz, њправдaній же є3гw2 не познaша,
28	28
so as to bring before him the cry of the needy; for he will hear the cry of the poor.	є4же вознести2 къ немY в0пль ни1щихъ, и3 в0пль ўб0гихъ ўслhшитъ.

And he will give quiet, and who will condemn? and he will hide his face, and who shall see him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man also:	И# т0й тишинY подaстъ, и3 кто2 њсyдитъ; и3 сокрhетъ лицE, и3 кто2 ќзритъ є3го2; и3 на kзhкъ, и3 на человёка вкyпэ,

causing a hypocrite to be king, because of the waywardness of the people.	и4же поставлsетъ царeмъ человёка лицемёра за стропти1вость людjй.

For there is one that says to the Mighty One, I have received blessings; I will not take a pledge:	Ћкw къ крёпкому глаг0лzй: взsхъ, не tимY вмёстw зал0га:

I will see apart from myself: do thou shew me if I have done unrighteousness; I will not do so any more.	без8 менє2 ўзрю2, ты2 покажи1 ми: ѓще непрaвду содёлахъ, не и4мамъ приложи1ти.

Will he take vengeance for it on thee, whereas thou wilt put it far from thee? for thou shalt choose, and not I; and what thou knowest, speak thou.	Е#дA t тебє2 и3стsжетъ ю5, ћкw ты2 tри1неши, ћкw ты2 и3зберeши, ґ не ѓзъ ли; и3 что2 разумёеши; глаг0ли.

Because the wise in heart shall say this, and a wise man listens to my word.	Тёмже смhсленніи сeрдцемъ рекyтъ сі‰, мyжъ же премyдръ ўслhша глаг0лъ м0й.

But Job has not spoken with understanding, his words are not uttered with knowledge.	Јwвъ же не въ рaзумэ глаг0лаше, словесa же є3гw2 не въ хи1трости.

Howbeit do thou learn, Job: no longer make answer as the foolish:	Nбaче навhкни, јwве, не дaждь є3щE tвёта, ћкоже немyдріи:

that we add not to our sins: for iniquity will be reckoned against us, if we speak many words before the Lord.	да не приложи1мъ на грэхи2 нaшz: беззак0ніе же на нaсъ вмэни1тсz, мнHгаz глаг0лющихъ словесA на гDа.

And Elius resumed and said,	Tвэщaвъ же є3щE є3ліyсъ, речE:

What is this that thou thinkest to be according to right? who art thou that thou hast said, I am righteous before the Lord?	что2 сіE мни1лъ є3си2 на судЁ; ты2 кто2 є3си2, ћкw рeклъ є3си2: прaвъ є4смь пред8 гDемъ;

I will answer thee, and thy three friends.	Ѓзъ же ти2 дaмъ tвётъ и3 тріeмъ другHмъ твои6мъ.

Look up to the sky and see; and consider the clouds, how high they are above thee.	Воззри2 на нeбо и3 ви1ждь: смотри1 же на w4блаки, к0ль высHки сyть t тебє2.

If thou hast sinned, what wilt thou do? and if too thou hast transgressed much, what canst thou perform?	Ѓще согрэши1лъ є3си2, что2 сотвори1ши; ѓще же и3 мн0гw беззак0нновалъ є3си2, что2 м0жеши сотвори1ти;

And suppose thou art righteous, what wilt thou give him? or what shall he receive of thy hand?	Понeже ќбw прaведенъ є3си2, что2 дaси є3мY; и3ли2 что2 и3з8 руки2 твоеS в0зметъ;

Thy ungodliness may affect a man who is like to thee; or thy righteousness a son of man.	Мyжеви под0бному тебЁ нечeстіе твоE, и3 сhну человёческому прaвда твоS.

They that are oppressed of a multitude will be ready to cry out; they will call for help because of the arm of many.	T мн0жества њклеветaеміи воззовyтъ, возопію1тъ t мhшцы мн0гихъ:

But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night-watches;	и3 не речE: гдЁ є4сть бGъ сотвори1вый мS, ўстроszй стражбы6 нwщнhz,

who makes me to differ from the four-footed beasts of the earth, and from the birds of the sky?	tдэлszй мS t четверон0гихъ земнhхъ и3 t небeсныхъ пти1цъ;
12	12
There they shall cry, and none shall hearken, even because of the insolence of wicked men.	тaмw воззовyтъ, и3 не и4маши ўслhшати, и3 t досaды ѕлhхъ.

For the Lord desires not to look on error, for he is the Almighty One.	БезмBстнаz бо ви1дэти не х0щетъ гDь: сaмъ бо вседержи1тель зри1тель є4сть творsщихъ беззакHннаz, и3 спасeтъ мS.

He beholds them that perform lawless deeds, and he will save me: and do thou plead before him, if thou canst praise him, as it is possible even now.	Суди1сz же пред8 ни1мъ, ѓще м0жеши похвали1ти є3го2, ћкоже є4сть и3 нн7э.

For he is not now regarding his wrath, nor has he noticed severely any trespass.	Ћкw нёсть посэщazй гнёвомъ свои1мъ, и3 не познA прегрэшeніz коегHлибо ѕэлw2.

Yet Job vainly opens his mouth, in ignorance he multiplies words.	Јwвъ же всyе tверзaетъ ўстA сво‰, невёдэніемъ словесA њтzгощaетъ.
Chapter 36	Главa lѕ

And Elius further continued, and said,	Приложи1въ же є3щE є3ліyсъ, речE:

Wait for me yet a little while, that I may teach thee: for there is yet speech in me.	пожди1 ми мaлw є3щE, да тS научY: є3щe бо ў менє2 є4сть сл0во.

Having fetched my knowledge from afar, and according to my works,	Пріи1мъ хи1трость мою2 tдалeча, дёлы же мои1ми прaвєднаz рекY вои1стинну:

I will speak just things truly, and thou shalt not unjustly receive unjust words.	и3 не непрaвєдны глаг0лы без8 прaвды ўразумёеши.

But know that the Lord will not cast off an innocent man: being mighty in strength of wisdom,	Ви1ждь же, ћкw гDь не tри1нетъ неѕл0бивагw:
6	6
he will not by any means save alive the ungodly: and he will grant the judgment of the poor.	си1ленъ крёпостію сердцA нечести1выхъ не њживи1тъ и3 сyдъ ни1щымъ дaстъ,

He will not turn away his eyes from the righteous, but they shall be with kings on the throne: and he will establish them in triumph, and they shall be exalted.	не tи1метъ t правди1вагw nчeсъ свои1хъ, и3 со цари6 на прест0лэ посади1тъ и5хъ на побёду, и3 вознесyтсz.

But they that are bound in fetters shall be holden in cords of poverty.	Свsзанніи въ ручнhхъ ќзахъ ћти бyдутъ ќжами нищеты2,

And he shall recount to them their works, and their transgressions, for such will act with violence.	и3 возвэсти1тъ и5мъ дэлA и4хъ и3 прегрэшeніе и4хъ, ћкw ўкрэпsтсz:

But he will hearken to the righteous: and he has said that they shall turn from unrighteousness.	но правди1ваго ўслhшитъ, и3 речE, ћкw њбратsтсz t непрaвды.
11	11
If they should hear and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in honour.	Ѓще ўслhшатъ и3 пораб0таютъ, скончaютъ дни6 сво‰ во благи1хъ и3 лBта сво‰ въ благолёпотэ:

But he preserves not the ungodly; because they are not willing to know the Lord, and because when reproved they were disobedient.	нечести1выхъ же не спасeтъ, занE не хотёша познaти гDа и3 занeже ўчи1ми не послушли1ви бёша.

And the hypocrites in heart will array wrath against themselves; they will not cry, because he has bound them.	И# лицемёри сeрдцемъ возмутsтъ ћрость: не возопію1тъ, ћкw свzзA и5хъ:
14	14
Therefore let their soul die in youth, and their life be wounded by messengers of death.	да ќмретъ u5бо въ ю4ности душA и4хъ, житіe же и4хъ ўzзвлsемо ѓгGлы,
15	15
Because they afflicted the weak and helpless: and he will vindicate the judgment of the meek.	занeже њскорби1ша недyжна и3 нeмощна, сyдъ же кр0ткихъ и3зложи1тъ.

And he has also enticed thee out of the mouth of the enemy:	Е#щe же и3ст0ргну тS t ќстъ врaжіихъ: бeздна, проли1тіе под8 нeю, и3 сни1де трапeза твоS и3сп0лнена тyка.

there is a deep gulf and a rushing stream beneath it, and thy table came down full of fatness. Judgment shall not fail from the righteous;	Не њскудёетъ же t прaведныхъ сyдъ:

but there shall be wrath upon the ungodly, by reason of the ungodliness of the bribes which they received for iniquities.	ћрость же на нечести6выz бyдетъ, нечeстіz рaди дарHвъ и4хъ, и5хже пріимaху на непрaвдэ.

Let not thy mind willingly turn thee aside from the petition of the feeble that are in distress.	Да не ўклони1тъ тS в0лею ќмъ t мольбы2 въ бэдЁ сyщихъ немощнhхъ и3 всёхъ содержaщихъ крёпость.

And draw not forth all the mighty men by night, so that the people should go up instead of them.	Не привлецы2 н0щи, є4же взhти лю1демъ вмёстw и4хъ:

But take heed lest thou do that which is wrong: for of this thou hast made choice because of poverty.	но сохрани1сz, да не содёеши ѕлA: си1хъ бо рaди и3з8sтъ є3си2 t нищеты2.

Behold, the Mighty One shall prevail by his strength: for who is powerful as he is?	СE, крёпкій ўдержи1тъ крёпостію своeю: кт0 бо є4сть, ћкоже т0й, си1ленъ;

And who is he that examines his works? or who can say, He has wrought injustice?	и3 кто2 є4сть и3спытyzй дёлъ є3гw2; и3ли2 кто2 рекjй: содёz непрaвду;

Remember that his works are great beyond those which men have attempted.	Помzни2, ћкw вє1ліz дэлA є3гw2 сyть, и4миже владёша мyжіе.

Every man has seen in himself, how many mortals are wounded.	Всsкъ человёкъ ви1дитъ въ себЁ, є3ли1цы ўzзвлsеми сyть человёцы.

Behold, the Mighty One is great, and we shall not know him: the number of his years is even infinite.	СE, крёпкій вели1кій, и3 не ўвёмы: число2 лётъ є3гw2 безконeчное:

And the drops of rain are numbered by him, and shall be poured out in rain to form a cloud.	и3зочтє1нны же є3мY сyть к†пли дождє1вныz, и3 и3злію1тсz дождeмъ во w4блакъ:

The ancient heavens shall flow, and the clouds overshadow innumerable mortals:	потекyтъ њбетш†ніz, њсэни1ша же w4блацы над8 премн0гими людьми2: врeмz постaви скотY, вёдzтъ же л0жа чи1нъ. Њ всёхъ си1хъ не диви1тлитисz ќмъ, и3 не и3змэнsетлисz ти2 сeрдце t тёла;

he has fixed a time to cattle, and they know the order of rest.

Yet by all these things thy understanding is not astonished, neither is thy mind disturbed in thy body.

And though one should understand the outspreadings of the clouds, or the measure of his tabernacle;	И# ѓще ўразумёетъ простeртіе w4блака, рaвенство ски1ніи є3гw2:

behold he will stretch his bow against him, and he covers the bottom of the sea.	сE, простирaетъ на ню2 свётъ и3 корє1ніz морск†z покры2:

For by them he will judge the nations: he will give food to him that has strength.	тёми бо сyдитъ лю1демъ, дaстъ пи1щу могyщему.

He has hidden the light in his hands, and given charge concerning it to the interposing cloud.	На рукY покры2 свётъ и3 заповёда њ нeмъ срэтaющему:

The Lord will declare concerning this to his friend: but there is a portion also for unrighteousness.	возвэсти1тъ њ нeмъ дрyгу своемY гDь, стzжaніе, и3 њ непрaвдэ.

At this also my heart is troubled, and moved out of its place.	И# t си1хъ возмzтeсz сeрдце моE и3 tт0ржесz t мёста своегw2.

Hear thou a report by the anger of the Lord's wrath, and a discourse shall come out of his mouth.	Послyшай слyха во гнёвэ ћрости гDни, и3 поучeніе и3зо ќстъ є3гw2 и3зhдетъ.

His dominion is under the whole heaven, and his light is at the extremities of the earth.	Под8 всёмъ нeбомъ начaлство є3гw2, и3 свётъ є3гw2 на крил{ земли2.

commanding the snow, Be thou upon the earth, and the stormy rain, and the storm of the showers of his might.	Повелэвazй снёгу: бyди на земли2, и3 бyрz дождS, и3 бyрz дождє1въ могyтства є3гw2.

He seals up the hand of every man, that every man may know his own weakness.	Въ руцЁ всsкагw человёка знaменаетъ, да познaетъ всsкъ человёкъ свою2 нeмощь.

And the wild beasts come in under the covert, and rest in their lair.	Внид0ша же ѕвёріе под8 кр0въ и3 ўмолк0ша на л0жи.

Troubles come on out of the secret chambers, and cold from the mountain-tops.	И#з8 храни1лищъ внyтреннихъ нах0дzтъ бwлёзни, и3 t внёшнихъ стрaнъ стyдень.

And from the breath of the Mighty One he will send frost; and he guides the water in whatever way he pleases.	И# t дыхaніz крёпка дaстъ лeдъ: ўправлsетъ же в0ду, ћкоже х0щетъ,

And if a cloud obscures what is precious to him, his light will disperse the cloud.	и3 и3збрaнное ўстроsетъ w4блакъ: разженeтъ w4блакъ свётъ є3гw2,

And he will carry round the encircling clouds by his governance, to perform their works: whatsoever he shall command them,	и3 сaмъ њкрє1стнаz преврати1тъ, ћкоже х0щетъ, въ дэлA и4хъ: вс‰, є3ли6ка заповёсть и5мъ, сі‰ чиноположє1на сyть t негw2 на земли2,

this has been appointed by him on the earth, whether for correction, or for his land, or if he shall find him an object for mercy.	ѓще въ наказaніе, ѓще на зeмлю свою2, ѓще на ми1лость њбрsщетъ и5.

Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and be admonished of the power of the Lord.	Внуши2 сі‰, јwве: стaни ўчaйсz си1лэ гDни.

We know that God has disposed his works, having made light out of darkness.	Вёмы, ћкw гDь положи2 дэлA сво‰, свётъ сотвори1въ и3з8 тмы2.

And he knows the divisions of the clouds, and the signal overthrows of the ungodly.	Вёсть же разли1чіе њблакHвъ и3 вє1ліz падє1ніz ѕлhхъ.

But thy robe is warm, and there is quiet upon the land.	Твоs же nдeжда теплA, почивaетъ же на земли2 t ю4га.

Wilt thou establish with him foundations for the ancient heavens? they are strong as a molten mirror.	Ўтверждє1ніz съ ни1мъ въ дрeвности, крэпк† ћкоже видёніе сли1тіz.

Wherefore teach me, what shall we say to him? and let us cease from saying much.	Чесw2 рaди, научи1 мz, что2 речeмъ є3мY; и3 престaнемъ мнHга глаг0люще.

Have I a book or a scribe by me, that I may stand and put man to silence?	Е#дA кни1га, и3ли2 книг0чіа ми2 предстои1тъ; да стоsщь сотворю2 человёку молчaти.

But the light is not visible to all: it shines afar off in the heavens, as that which is from him in the clouds.	Не всBмъ же ви1димь свётъ: свётлый є4сть въ дрeвностехъ, ћкоже є4же t негw2 на w4блацэхъ.

From the north come the clouds shining like gold: in these great are the glory and honour of the Almighty;	T сёвера w4блацы златозaрни: въ си1хъ вeліz слaва и3 чeсть вседержи1телева.

and we do not find another his equal in strength: as for him that judges justly, dost thou not think that he listens?	И# не њбрэтaемъ и3н0го под0бна крёпости є3гw2: и4же сyдитъ првdнw, мни1ши ли, ћкw не слhшитъ т0й;

Wherefore men shall fear him; and the wise also in heart shall fear him.	Тёмже ўбоsтсz є3гw2 человёцы: ўбоsтсz же є3гw2 и3 премyдріи сeрдцемъ.

And after Elius had ceased from speaking, the Lord spoke to Job through the whirlwind and clouds, saying,	Престaвшу же є3ліyсу t бесёды, речE гDьјwву сквозЁ бyрю и3 w4блаки:

Who is this that hides counsel from me, and confines words in his heart, and thinks to conceal them from me?	кто2 сeй скрывazй t менє2 совётъ, содержaй же глаг0лы въ сeрдцы, менe же ли мни1тсz ўтаи1ти;

Gird thy loins like a man; and I will ask thee, and do thou answer me.	Препоsши ћкw мyжъ чрє1сла тво‰: вопрошy же тS, тh же ми2 tвэщaй.

Where wast thou when I founded the earth? tell me now, if thou hast knowledge,	ГдЁ бhлъ є3си2, є3гдA њсновaхъ зeмлю; возвэсти1 ми, ѓще вёси рaзумъ.

who set the measures of it, if thou knowest? or who stretched a line upon it?	Кто2 положи2 мBры є3S, ѓще вёси; и3ли2 кто2 наведhй вeрвь на ню2;

On what are its rings fastened? and who is he that laid the corner-stone upon it?	На чeмже столпи2 є3S ўтверждeни сyть; кт0же є4сть положи1вый кaмень краеуг0лный на нeй;

When the stars were made, all my angels praised me with a loud voice.	Е#гдA (сотворє1ны) бhша ѕвёзды, восхвали1ша мS глaсомъ вeліимъ вси2 ѓгGли мои2.

And I shut up the sea with gates, when it rushed out, coming forth out of its mother's womb.	Загради1хъ же м0ре враты2, є3гдA и3зливaшесz и3з8 чрeва мaтере своеS и3сходsщее:

And I made a cloud its clothing, and swathed it in mist.	положи1хъ же є3мY w4блакъ во њдэsніе, мгл0ю же пови1хъ є5:

And I set bounds to it, surrounding it with bars and gates.	и3 положи1хъ є3мY предёлы, њбложи1въ затв0ры и3 вратA:

And I said to it, Hitherto shalt thou come, but thou shalt not go beyond, but thy waves shall be confined within thee.	рёхъ же є3мY: до сегw2 д0йдеши и3 не прeйдеши, но въ тебЁ сокрушaтсz в0лны тво‰.

Or did I order the morning light in thy time; and did the morning star then first see his appointed place;	И#ли2 при тебЁ состaвихъ свётъ ќтренній, денни1ца же вёсть чи1нъ св0й,

to lay hold of the extremities of the earth, to cast out the ungodly out of it?	ћтисz кри1лъ земли2, tтрzсти2 нечести6выz t неS;

Or didst thou take clay of the ground, and form a living creature, and set it with the power of speech upon the earth?	И#ли2 ты2, брeніе взeмъ, t земли2 создaлъ є3си2 жив0тно, и3 глаг0ливаго сего2 посади1лъ є3си2 на земли2;

And hast thou removed light from the ungodly, and crushed the arm of the proud?	Tsлъ же ли є3си2 t нечести1выхъ свётъ, мhшцу же г0рдыхъ сокруши1лъ ли є3си2;

Or hast thou gone to the source of the sea, and walked in the tracks of the deep?	Пришeлъ же ли є3си2 на и3ст0чники м0рz, во слэдaхъ же бeздны ходи1лъ ли є3си2;

And do the gates of death open to thee for fear; and did the porters of hell quake when they saw thee?	Tверзaютсz же ли тебЁ стрaхомъ вратA смє1ртнаz, врaтницы же ѓдwвы ви1дэвше тS ўбоsшасz ли;

And hast thou been instructed in the breadth of the whole earth under heaven? tell me now, what is the extent of it?	Навhклъ же ли є3си2 широты2 поднебeсныz; Повёждь u5бо ми2, коли1ка є4сть;

And in what kind of a land does the light dwell? and of what kind is the place of darkness?	Въ к0ей же земли2 вселsетсz свётъ, тмё же к0е є4сть мёсто;

If thou couldest bring me to their utmost boundaries, and if also thou knowest their paths;	Ѓще u5бо введeши мS въ предёлы и4хъ, ѓще же ли и3 вёси стєзи2 и4хъ;

I know then that thou wert born at that time, and the number of thy years is great.	Вёмъ u5бо, ћкw тогдA рождeнъ є3си2, числ0 же лётъ твои1хъ мн0го.

But hast thou gone to the treasures of snow? and hast thou seen the treasures of hail?	Пришeлъ же ли є3си2 въ сокрHвища снBжнаz, и3 сокрHвища гр†днаz ви1дэлъ ли є3си2;

And is there a store of them, for thee against the time of thine enemies, for the day of wars and battle?	подлежaтъ же ли тебЁ въ чaсъ врагHвъ, въ дeнь брaней и3 рaти;

And whence proceeds the frost? or whence is the south wind dispersed over the whole world under heaven?	Tкyду же и3сх0дитъ слaна, и3ли2 разсыпaетсz ю4гъ на поднебeсную;

And who prepared a course for the violent rain, and a way for the thunders;	Кт0 же ўгот0ва дождю2 вeлію проліsніе, и3 пyть м0лніи и3 гр0ма,

to rain upon the land where there is no man, the wilderness, where there is not a man in it; so as to feed the untrodden and uninhabited land,	њдожди1ти на зeмлю, на нeйже нёсть мyжа, пустhню, и3дёже человёка нёсть въ нeй,

and cause it to send forth a crop of green herbs?	насhтити непроходи1му и3 ненаселeну, и3 прозsбнути и3сх0дъ ѕлaка;

Who is the rain's father? and who has generated the drops of dew?	Кт0 є3сть дождю2 nтeцъ; кт0 же є4сть роди1вый к†пли рHсныz;

And knowest thou the changes of heaven, or the events which take place together under heaven?	Вёси же ли премэнє1ніz небє1снаz, и3ли2 быв†ющаz вкyпэ под8 небесeмъ;

And wilt thou call a cloud with thy voice, and will it obey thee with a violent shower of much rain?	Призовeши же ли w4блакъ глaсомъ; и3 трeпетомъ воды2 вели1кіz послyшаетъ ли тS;

And wilt thou send lightnings, and they shall go? and shall they say to thee, What is thy pleasure?	П0слеши же ли мHлніи, и3 п0йдутъ; рекyтъ же ли ти2: чт0 є3сть;

And who has given to women skill in weaving, or knowledge of embroidery?	Кт0 же дaлъ є4сть женaмъ ткaніz мyдрость, и3ли2 и3спещрeніz хи1трость;

And who is he that numbers the clouds in wisdom, and has bowed the heaven down to the earth?	Кт0 же и3зчислszй w4блаки премyдростію, нeбо же на зeмлю преклони1лъ,

For it is spread out as dusty earth, and I have cemented it as one hewn stone to another.	разліsсz же ћкw землS прaхъ, спаsхъ же є5, ѓки кaменемъ, на четhри ќглы;

And wilt thou hunt a prey for the lions? and satisfy the desires of the serpents?	Ўлови1ши же ли львaмъ ћдь, и3 дyшы ѕміє1въ насhтиши ли;

For they fear in their lairs, and lying in wait couch in the woods.	ўбоsшасz бо на л0жахъ свои1хъ и3 сэдsтъ въ дeбрехъ ўловлsюще.

And who has prepared food for the raven? for its young ones wander and cry to the Lord, in search of food.	Кт0 же врaну ўгот0ва пи1щу; пти6чищи бо є3гw2 ко гDу воззвaша, њблетaюще бр†шна и4щуще.
Chapter 39	Главa lf

Say if thou knowest the time of the bringing forth of the wild goats of the rock, and if thou hast marked the calving of the hinds:	Ѓще ўразумёлъ є3си2 врeмz рождeніz к0зъ живyщихъ на горaхъ кaменныхъ; ўсмотри1лъ же ли є3си2 болёзнь при рождeніи є3лeней;

and if thou hast numbered the full months of their being with young, and if thou hast relieved their pangs:	и3зчи1слилъ же ли є3си2 мцcы и4хъ и3сп0лнєны рождeніz и4хъ, бwлёзни же и4хъ разрэши1лъ ли є3си2;

and hast reared their young without fear; and wilt thou loosen their pangs?	Вскорми1лъ же ли є3си2 дётищы и4хъ внЁ стрaха, бwлёзни же и4хъ tслeши ли;

Their young will break forth; they will be multiplied with offspring: their young will go forth, and will not return to them.	и3звeргнутъ ч†да сво‰, ўмн0жатсz въ порождeніи, и3зhдутъ и3 не возвратsтсz къ ни6мъ.

And who is he that sent forth the wild ass free? and who loosed his bands?	Кт0 же є4сть пусти1вый nслA ди1віzго своб0дна, ќзы же є3гw2 кто2 разрэши1лъ;

whereas I made his habitation the wilderness, and the salt land his coverts.	Положи1хъ же жили1ще є3гw2 пустhню и3 селє1ніz є3гw2 слaность:

He laughs to scorn the multitude of the city, and hears not the chiding of the tax-gatherer.	смэsйсz мн0гу нар0ду грaда, стужaніz же дaнническагw не слhшай,

He will survey the mountains as his pasture, and he seeks after every green thing.	ўсм0тритъ на горaхъ пaжить себЁ и3 в8слёдъ всsкагw ѕлaка и4щетъ.

And will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or to lie down at thy manger?	Пох0щетъ же ли ти2 є3динор0гъ раб0тати, и3ли2 поспaти при ћслехъ твои1хъ;

And wilt thou bind his yoke with thongs, or will he plough furrows for thee in the plain?	привsжеши ли ремeніемъ и4го є3гw2, и3 провлечeтъ ти2 бразды6 на п0ли;

And dost thou trust him, because his strength is great? and wilt thou commit thy works to him?	надёешилисz нaнь, ћкw мн0га крёпость є3гw2; попyстиши же ли є3мY дэлA тво‰;

And wilt thou believe that he will return to thee thy seed, and bring it in to thy threshing-floor?	повёриши же ли, ћкw воздaстъ ти2 сёмz; внесeтъ же ли ти2 въ гумно2;

The peacock has a beautiful wing: if the stork and the ostrich conceive, it is worthy of notice,	Крило2 веселsщихсz неелaсса, ѓще зачнeтъ ґсjда и3 нeсса;

for the ostrich will leave her eggs in the ground, and warm them on the dust,	ћкw њстaвитъ на земли2 ћица сво‰, и3 на пeрсти согрёетъ,

and has forgotten that the foot will scatter them, and the wild beasts of the field trample them.	и3 забы2, ћкw ногA разбіeтъ, и3 ѕвёріе сeлніи поперyтъ:

She has hardened herself against her young ones, as though she bereaved not herself: she labours in vain without fear.	њжесточи1сz на ч†да сво‰, ѓки бы не є3S, вотщE труди1сz без8 стрaха,

For God has withholden wisdom from her, and not given her a portion in understanding.	ћкw сокры2 бGъ є4й премyдрость и3 не ўдэли2 є4й въ рaзумэ:

In her season she will lift herself on high; she will scorn the horse and his rider.	во врeмz же на высотY вознесeтъ, посмэeтсz коню2 и3 сэдsщему на нeмъ.

Hast thou invested the horse with strength, and clothed his neck with terror?	И#ли2 ты2 њбложи1лъ є3си2 конS си1лою, и3 њблeклъ же ли є3си2 вhю є3гw2 въ стрaхъ;

And hast thou clad him in perfect armour, and made his breast glorious with courage?	њбложи1лъ же ли є3си2 є3го2 всеoрyжіемъ, слaву же пeрсей є3гw2 дeрзостію;

He paws exulting in the plain, and goes forth in strength into the plain.	копhтомъ копaz на п0ли и3грaетъ и3 и3сх0дитъ на п0ле съ крёпостію:

He laughs to scorn a king as he meets him, and will by no means turn back from the sword.	срэтaz стрёлы посмэzвaетсz и3 не tврати1тсz t желёза:

The bow and sword resound against him; and his rage will swallow up the ground:	над8 ни1мъ и3грaетъ лyкъ и3 мeчь,

and he will not believe until the trumpet sounds.	и3 гнёвомъ потреби1тъ зeмлю и3 не и4мать вёры ћти, д0ндеже вострyбитъ трубA:

And when the trumpet sounds, he says, Aha! and afar off he smells the war with prancing and neighing.	трубё же воструби1вшей глаг0летъ, блaгоже: и3здалeча же њбонsетъ рaть, со скакaніемъ и3 ржaніемъ.

And does the hawk remain steady by thy wisdom, having spread out her wings unmoved, looking toward the region of the south?	И# твоeю ли хи1тростію стои1тъ ћстребъ, распростeръ крилB недви1жимь, зрS на ю4гъ;

And does the eagle rise at thy command, and the vulture remain sitting over his nest,	Твои1мъ же ли повелёніемъ возн0ситсz nрeлъ, неsсыть же на гнэздЁ своeмъ сэдS вселsетсz,

on a crag of a rock, and in a secret place?	на версЁ кaмене и3 въ сокровeнэ;

Thence he seeks food, his eyes observe from far.	тaмw же сhй и4щетъ бр†шна, и3здалeча џчи є3гw2 наблюдaютъ,

And his young ones roll themselves in blood, and wherever the carcases may be, immediately they are found.	пти6чищи же є3гw2 валsютсz въ кр0ви: и3дёже ѓще бyдутъ мертвечи6ны, ѓбіе њбрэтaютсz.

And the Lord God answered Job, and said,	Пaки же tвэщaвъ гDь, речE ко јwву и3з8 w4блака:

Will any one pervert judgment with the Mighty One? and he that reproves God, let him return it for answer.	ни2, но препоsши ћкw мyжъ чрє1сла тво‰: вопрошy же тS, тh же ми2 tвэщaй.

And Job answered and said to the Lord,	Не tвергaй судA моегw2: мни1ши ли мS и3нaкw тебЁ сотв0рша, рaзвэ да kви1шисz правди1въ;

Why do I yet plead? being rebuked even while reproving the Lord: hearing such things, whereas I am nothing: and what shall I answer to these arguments? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.	Е#дA мhшца ти2 є4сть на гDа, и3ли2 глaсомъ на него2 греми1ши;

I have spoken once; but I will not do so a second time.	Пріими1 же высотY и3 си1лу, въ слaву же и3 въ чeсть њблецhсz:

And the Lord yet again answered and spoke to Job out of the cloud, saying,	пусти1 же ѓгGлы гнёвомъ и3 всsкаго ўкори1телz смири2,

Nay, gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will ask thee, and do thou answer me.	величaва же ўгаси2 и3 согн0й нечєсти1выz ѓбіе:

Do not set aside my judgment: and dost thou think that I have dealt with thee in any other way, than that thou mightest appear to be righteous?	скрhй же въ зeмлю внЁ вкyпэ и3 ли1ца и4хъ безчeстіz и3сп0лни.

Hast thou an arm like the Lord's? or dost thou thunder with a voice like his?	И#сповёмъ, ћкw м0жетъ десни1ца твоS спасти2.

Assume now a lofty bearing and power; and clothe thyself with glory and honour.	Но ќбw сE, ѕвёріе ў тебє2, травY ѓки вол0ве kдsтъ:

And send forth messengers with wrath; and lay low every haughty one.	сE ќбw, крёпость є3гw2 на чрeслэхъ, си1ла же є3гw2 на пyпэ чрeва:

Bring down also the proud man; and consume at once the ungodly.	постaви w4шибъ ћкw кmпарjсъ, жи6лы же є3гw2 (ћкw ќже) сплетє1ны сyть,

But now look at the wild beasts with thee; they eat grass like oxen.	возшeдъ же на г0ру стреми1нную, сотвори2 рaдость четверонHгимъ въ тaртарэ:

Behold now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.	под8 всsкимъ дрeвомъ спи1тъ, при р0гозэ и3 тр0стіи и3 сіт0віи:

He sets up his tail like a cypress; and his nerves are wrapped together.	њсэнsютъ же над8 ни1мъ древесA вели6ка съ лёторасльми и3 вBтви напHльныz:

His sides are sides of brass; and his backbone is as cast iron.	ѓще бyдетъ наводнeніе, не њщути1тъ: ўповaетъ, ћкw вни1детъ їoрдaнъ во ўстA є3гw2:

This is the chief of the creation of the Lord; made to be played with by his angels.	во џко своE в0зметъ є3го2, њжесточи1всz продирaвитъ нHздри.

And when he has gone up to a steep mountain, he causes joy to the quadrupeds in the deep.	И#звлечeши ли ѕмjа ќдицею, и3ли2 њбложи1ши ўздY њ ноздрeхъ є3гw2;

He lies under trees of every kind, by the papyrus, and reed, and bulrush.	и3ли2 вдёжеши колцE въ нHздри є3гw2; ши1ломъ же проверти1ши ли ўстнЁ є3гw2;

And the great trees make a shadow over him with their branches, and so do the bushes of the field.	возглаг0летъ же ли ти2 съ молeніемъ, (и3ли2) съ прошeніемъ кр0ткw;

If there should be a flood, he will not perceive it; he trusts that Jordan will rush up into his mouth.	сотвори1тъ же ли завётъ съ тоб0ю; п0ймеши же ли є3го2 рабA вёчна;

Yet one shall take him in his sight; one shall catch him with a cord, and pierce his nose.	поигрaеши же ли съ ни1мъ, ћкоже со пти1цею, и3ли2 свsжеши є3го2 ћкw врaбіz дётищу;

But wilt thou catch the serpent with a hook, and put a halter about his nose?	питaютсz ли же и4мъ kзhцы, и3 раздэлsютъ ли є3го2 фінікjйстіи нар0ди;

Or wilt thou fasten a ring in his nostril, and bore his lip with a clasp?	вс‰ же пл†вающаz собрaвшесz не под8и1мутъ к0жи є3ди1ныz w4шиба є3гw2, и3 корабли6 рhбарей главы2 є3гw2.

And will he make a covenant with thee? and wilt thou take him for a perpetual servant?

And wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or bind him as a sparrow for a child?

And do the nations feed upon him, and the nations of the Phœnicians share him?

And all the ships come together would not be able to bear the mere skin of his tail; neither shall they carry his head in fishing-vessels.
32
But thou shalt lay thy hand upon him once, remembering the war that is waged by his mouth; and let it not be done any more.

Hast thou not seen him? and hast thou not wondered at the things said of him?	Не ви1дэлъ ли є3си2 є3го2, и3 глаг0лємымъ не ўдиви1лсz ли є3си2; не ўбоsлсz ли є3си2, ћкw ўгот0васz ми2; Кт0 бо є4сть противлszйсz мнЁ, и3ли2 кто2 противостaнетъ ми2 и3 стерпи1тъ,

Dost thou not fear because preparation has been made by me? for who is there that resists me?	ѓще всS поднебeснаz моS є4сть;

Or who will resist me, and abide, since the whole world under heaven is mine?	Не ўмолчY є3гw2 рaди и3 сл0вомъ си1лы поми1лую рaвнаго є3мY.

I will not be silent because of him: though because of his power one shall pity his antagonist.	Кто2 tкрhетъ лицE њблечeніz є3гw2, въ согбeніе же пeрсей є3гw2 кто2 вни1детъ;

Who will open the face of his garment? and who can enter within the fold of his breast-plate?	Двє1ри лицA є3гw2 кто2 tвeрзетъ; w4крестъ зубHвъ є3гw2 стрaхъ,

Who will open the doors of his face? terror is round about his teeth.	ўтр0ба є3гw2 щиты2 мBдzны, сою1зъ же є3гw2 ћкоже смmрjтъ кaмень,

His inwards are as brazen plates, and the texture of his skin as a smyrite stone.	є3ди1нъ ко друг0му прилипaютъ, дyхъ же не пр0йдетъ є3гw2:

One part cleaves fast to another, and the air cannot come between them.	ћкw мyжъ брaту своемY прилэпи1тсz, содержaтсz и3 не tт0ргнутсz.

They will remain united each to the other: they are closely joined, and cannot be separated.	Въ чхaніи є3гw2 возблистaетъ свётъ: џчи же є3гw2 видёніе денни1цы.

At his sneezing a light shines, and his eyes are as the appearance of the morning star.	И#з8 ќстъ є3гw2 и3сх0дzтъ ѓки свэщы2 горsщыz, и3 размeщутсz ѓки и4скры џгнєнныz:

Out of his mouth proceed as it were burning lamps, and as it were hearths of fire are cast abroad.	и3з8 ноздрeй є3гw2 и3сх0дитъ дhмъ пeщи горsщіz nгнeмъ ќгліz:

Out of his nostrils proceeds smoke of a furnace burning with fire of coals.	душa же є3гw2 ћкw ќгліе, и3 ћкw плaмы и3з8 ћстъ є3гw2 и3сх0дитъ..

His breath is as live coals, and a flame goes out of his mouth.	На вhи же є3гw2 водворsетсz си1ла, пред8 ни1мъ течeтъ пaгуба.

And power is lodged in his neck, before him destruction runs.	ПлHти же тэлесE є3гw2 сольпнyшасz: ліeтъ нaнь, и3 не подви1житсz.
15	15
The flesh also of his body is joined together: if one pours violence upon him, he shall not be moved.	Сeрдце є3гw2 њжестЁ ѓки кaмень, стои1тъ же ѓки нaковальнz неподви1жна.

His heart is firm as a stone, and it stands like an unyielding anvil.	Њбрaщшусz же є3мY, стрaхъ ѕвэрє1мъ четверонHгимъ по земли2 скaчущымъ.
17	17
And when he turns, he is a terror to the four-footed wild beasts which leap upon the earth.	Ѓще срsщутъ є3го2 к0піz, ничт0же сотворsтъ є3мY, копіE вонзeно и3 бронS:

If spears should come against him, men will effect nothing, either with the spear or the breast-plate.	вмэнsетъ бо желёзо ѓки плє1вы, мёдь же ѓки дрeво гни1ло:

For he considers iron as chaff, and brass as rotten wood.	не ўzзви1тъ є3го2 лyкъ мёдzнъ, мни1тъ бо каменомeтную прaщу ѓки сёно:
20	20
The bow of brass shall not wound him, he deems a slinger as grass.	ѓки стeбліе вмэни1шасz є3мY млaтове, ругaетжесz трyсу nгнен0сному.
21	21
Mauls are counted as stubble; and he laughs to scorn the waving of the firebrand.	Л0же є3гw2 nстни2 џстріи, всsко же злaто морск0е под8 ни1мъ, ћкоже брeніе безчи1сленно.

His lair is formed of sharp points; and all the gold of the sea under him is as an immense quantity of clay.	Возжизaетъ бeздну, ћкоже пeщь мёдzну: мни1тъ же м0ре ћкw мmровaрницу

He makes the deep boil like a brazen caldron; and he regards the sea as a pot of ointment,	и3 тaртаръ бeздны ћкоже плённика: вмэни1лъ бeздну въ прохождeніе.

and the lowest part of the deep as a captive: he reckons the deep as his range.	Ничт0же є4сть на земли2 под0бно є3мY сотворeно, порyгано бhти ѓгGлы мои1ми:

There is nothing upon the earth like to him, formed to be sported with by my angels.	всE выс0кое зри1тъ: сaмъ же цaрь всBмъ сyщымъ въ водaхъ.

He beholds every high thing: and he is king of all that are in the waters.
Chapter 42	Главa м7в

Then Job answered and said to the Lord,	Tвэщaвъ же јwвъ, речE ко гDу:

I know that thou canst do all things, and nothing is impossible with thee.	вёмъ, ћкw вс‰ м0жеши, невозм0жно же тебЁ ничт0же.

For who is he that hides counsel from thee? or who keeps back his words, and thinks to hide them from thee? and who will tell me what I knew not, great and wonderful things which I understood not?	Кт0 є3сть таsй t тебє2 совётъ, щадsй же словесA и3 t тебє2 мни1тсz ўтаи1ти; кт0 же возвэсти1тъ ми2, и4хже не вёдэхъ, вє1ліz и3 ди6внаz, и4хже не знaхъ;

But hear me, O Lord, that I also may speak: and I will ask thee, and do thou teach me.	Послyшай же менE, гDи, да и3 ѓзъ возглаг0лю: вопрошy же тS, тh же мS научи2:

I have heard the report of thee by the ear before; but now mine eye has seen thee.	слyхомъ ќбw ќха слhшахъ тS пeрвэе, нн7э же џко моE ви1дэ тS:

Wherefore I have counted myself vile, and have fainted: and I esteem myself dust and ashes.	тёмже ўкори1хъ себE сaмъ, и3 и3стazхъ, и3 мню2 себE зeмлю и3 пeпелъ.

And it came to pass after the Lord had spoken all these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Thæmanite, Thou hast sinned, and thy two friends: for ye have not said anything true before me, as my servant Job has.	Бhсть же є3гдA и3згlа гDь вс‰ гlг0лы сі‰ јwву, речE гDь ко є3ліфaзу fеманjтину: согрэши1лъ є3си2 ты2 и3 џба дрyзіе твои2: не глаг0ласте бо предо мн0ю ничт0же и4стинно, ћкоже рaбъ мои2 јwвъ:

Now then take seven bullocks, and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and he shall offer a burnt-offering for you. And my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will only accept him: for but for his sake, I would have destroyed you, for ye have not spoken the truth against my servant Job.	нн7э же возми1те сeдмь телцє1въ и3 сeдмь nвнHвъ и3 и3ди1те ко рабY моемY јwву, и3 сотвори1тъ жeртву њ вaсъ: јwвъ же рaбъ м0й пом0литсz њ вaсъ, понeже т0чію лицE є3гw2 пріимY: ѓще бо не є3гw2 рaди, погуби1лъ бhхъ ќбw вaсъ: не глаг0ласте бо и4стины на рабA моего2 јwва.

So Eliphaz the Thæmanite, and Baldad the Sauchite, and Sophar the Minæan, went and did as the Lord commanded them: and he pardoned their sin for the sake of Job.	Tи1де же є3ліфaзъ fеманjтинъ и3 валдaдъ саvхeйскій и3 сwфaръ мінeйскій и3 сотвори1ша, ћкоже повелЁ и5мъ гDь. И# tпусти2 грэхи2 и5мъ јwва рaди.

And the Lord prospered Job: and when he prayed also for his friends, he forgave them their sin: and the Lord gave Job twice as much, even the double of what he had before.	ГDь же возрасти2 јwва: молsщусz же є3мY и3 њ друзёхъ свои1хъ, tпусти2 и5мъ грэхи2 и4хъ, и3 дадE гDь суг{баz, є3ли6ка бsху прeжде јwву во ўсугублeніе.

And all his brethren and his sisters heard all that had happened to him, and they came to him, and so did all that had known him from the first: and they ate and drank with him, and comforted him, and wondered at all that the Lord had brought upon him: and each one gave him a lamb, and four drachms' weight of gold, even of unstamped gold.	Ўслhшаша же вси2 брaтіz є3гw2 и3 сєстры2 є3гw2 вс‰ случи6вшаzсz є3мY, и3 пріид0ша къ немY, и3 вси2 є3ли1цы знaху є3го2 пeрвэе: ћдше же и3 пи1вше ў негw2, ўтёшиша є3го2 и3 диви1шасz њ всёхъ, ±же наведE нaнь бGъ: дадe же є3мY кjйждо ѓгницу є3ди1ну и3 четhре др†хмы злaта назнaменована.

And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job, more than the beginning: and his cattle were fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, a thousand she-asses of the pastures.	ГDь же блгcви2 послBднzz јwвлz, нeже прє1жнzz: бsху же ск0ти є3гw2, nвeцъ четыренaдесzть тhсzщъ, велблю1дwвъ шeсть тhсzщъ, супр{гъ волHвъ тhсzща, nсли1цъ стaдныхъ тhсzща.

And there were born to him seven sons and three daughters.	Роди1шажесz є3мY сhнове сeдмь и3 дщє1ри три2:

And he called the first, Day, and the second, Casia, and the third, Amalthæa's horn.	и3 наречE пeрвую ќбw дeнь, вторyю же кассjю, трeтію же ґмалfeевъ р0гъ:

And there were not found in comparison with the daughters of Job, fairer women than they in all the world: and their father gave them an inheritance among their brethren.	и3 не њбрэт0шасz подHбны въ лёпотэ дщeремъ јwвлєвымъ въ поднебeснэй: дадe же и5мъ nтeцъ наслёдіе въ брaтіи и4хъ.

And Job lived after his affliction a hundred and seventy years: and all the years he lived were two hundred and forty: and Job saw his sons and his sons' sons, the fourth generation.	Поживe же јwвъ по ћзвэ лётъ сто2 сeдмьдесzтъ, всёхъ же лётъ поживE двёсти четhредесzть џсмь. И# ви1дэ јwвъ сhны сво‰ и3 сhны сынHвъ свои1хъ, дaже до четвeртагw р0да.

And Job died, an old man and full of days:	И# скончaсz јwвъ стaръ и3 и3сп0лнь днjй. Пи1сано же є4сть пaки востaти є3мY, съ ни1миже гDь возстaвитъ и5. Тaкw толкyетсz t сЂрскіz кни1ги: въ земли2 ќбw живhй ґvсітідjйстэй, на предёлэхъ їдумeи и3 ґравjи: прeжде же бsше и4мz є3мY їwвaвъ: взeмъ же женY ґрaвлzныню, роди2 сhна, є3мyже и4мz є3ннHнъ: бё же т0й nтцA ќбw зарefа, и3сavовыхъ сынHвъ сhнъ, мaтере же вос0рры, ћкоже бhти є3мY пsтому t ґвраaма. И# сjи цaріе цaрствовавшіи во є3дHмэ, є4юже и3 т0й њбладaше стран0ю: пeрвый валaкъ сhнъ веHровъ, и3 и4мz грaду є3гw2 деннавA: по валaцэ же їwвaвъ, нарицaемый јwвъ: по сeмъ ґссHмъ бhвшій в0ждь t fеманітідjйскіz страны2: по сeмъ ґдaдъ, сhнъ варaдовъ, и4же и3зсэчE мадіaма на п0ли мwaвли, и3 и4мz грaду є3гw2 геfeмъ. Пришeдшіи же къ немY дрyзіе, є3ліфaзъ (сhнъ сwфaнь) t сынHвъ и3сavовыхъ, цaрь fеманjйскій, валдaдъ (сhнъ ґмнHна ховaрскагw) саvхeйскій власти1тель, сwфaръ мінeйскій цaрь.

and it is written that he will rise again with those whom the Lord raises up.

This man is described in the Syriac book as living in the land of Ausis, on the borders of Idumea and Arabia: and his name before was Jobab;

and having taken an Arabian wife, he begot a son whose name was Ennon. And he himself was the son of his father Zare, one of the sons of Esau, and of his mother Bosorrha, so that he was the fifth from Abraam.

And these were the kings who reigned in Edom, which country he also ruled over: first, Balac, the son of Beor, and the name of his city was Dennaba: but after Balac, Jobab, who is called Job: and after him Asom, who was governor out of the country of Thæman: and after him Adad, the son of Barad, who destroyed Madiam in the plain of Moab; and the name of his city was Gethaim.

And his friends who came to him were Eliphaz, of the children of Esau, king of the Thæmanites, Baldad sovereign of the Sauchæans, Sophar king of the Minæans.
