The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;

and Judah begat Perez and Zerah of Tamar; and Perez begat Hezron; and Hezron begat Ram;
|
І$оу'да же роди` фареса и^ ꙁа'ра, эT џама'ры” фаре'с же роди` е^сро'ма” е^сро'м же роди` а^ра'ма”

and Ram begat Amminadab; and Amminadab begat Nahshon; and Nahshon begat Salmon;
|
а^ра'м же роди` а^минада'ва. а^минада'в же роди` наа^ссо'на. наа^ссо'н же роди` салмо'на”

and Salmon begat Boaz of Rahab; and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
|
салмо'н же роди` вᲆѓ'за, эT раха'вы. воѓ'з же роди` ѓ^ви'да эT рђџы” ѓ^виD же роди` і^ессе'а.

and Jesse begat David the king. And David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Uriah;

and Solomon begat Rehoboam; and Rehoboam begat Abijah; and Abijah begat Asa;
|
Соло'мон же роди` ровоа'ма” ровоа'м же роd а^ві'а. а^вїа же роди` а%сса.

and Asa begat Jehoshaphat; and Jehoshaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Uzziah;
|
а%сса же роди` і^ѓ^сафата. і^ѓ^сафа'т же роди` і^ѓ^ра'ма” І$ѓ^ра'м же роди` ѓ^зі'ю.

and Uzziah begat Jotham; and Jotham begat Ahaz; and Ahaz begat Hezekiah;
|
ѓ^зі'а же роди` і^ѓ^аџа'ма” і^ѓ^а^џаM же роди` а^ха'ꙁа. а^хаꙁ же роди` е^ꙁекію.

and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah;
|
е^ꙁекі'а же роди` манасїю” Манасїа же роди` а^мо'на” а^мо'н же роd і^ѓ^сїю.

|
and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brethren, at the time of the carrying away to Babylon.
|
і^ѓ^сїа же роди` е^хонїю, и^ братїю е^го, въ преселе'нїе вављ=ло'нское”

And after the carrying away to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Shealtiel; and Shealtiel begat Zerubbabel;
|
По преселе'нїи же вављ=ло'нстњмъ, і^е^хонїа роди`, салаџїиля. салаџїиль же роd зороваве'ля.

and Zerubbabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
|
ꙁороваве'л же роди`, а^виоу'да” а^виоу'д же роди` е^лїакі'ма” е^лиакі'м же роди а^ꙁора.

and Azor begat Zadok; and Zadok begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
|
а^зо'р же роди` садо'ка” садо'к# же роди` а^хі'ма. а^хи'м же роди` е^лиоу'дђ.

and Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
|
е^лиоу'д же роd е^леа^ꙁа'ра” е^леа^за'р же роди` матџа'на. маTџа'н же роди` і^а'кова”

|
and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
|
і^а'ков же роди` і^ѓ'сифа, мђжа мр~їина, і^ꙁ неа'же родис'я і^с~ гл~емыи х~с”

|
So all the generations from Abraham unto David are fourteen generations; and from David unto the carrying away to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the carrying away to Babylon unto the Christ fourteen generations.
|
Всњх# же родо'въ эT а^враа'ма до дв~да, родове четы'ринадесяте” І$ эT дв~да до преселе'нїа вављ=ло'ньскаго, родове четы'рина'десяте” И$ эT преселе'нїа вављ=лоньскаго до х~а, ро'дове четы'ринадесяте”

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

І$љ~ хв~о рожDество, си'це б^њ” ѓ^брђченњ оу^бо бы'вши мт~ри е^го мр~їи, і^ѓ%сифови, пре'же даже не сни'тися и'ма, ѓбрњтеся и^мђ'щи въ чревњ эT дх~а ст~а”

And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.
|
і^ѓ'сиф же мђжъ еа` пра'веденъ сыи`, и^ не хотя еа` ѓ^бличи'ти, въсхотњ` та'и пђсти'ти ю&”

|
But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
|
Сіа' же е^мђ помы'слившђ, с^е а%гг~лъ гн~ь въ снњ` ја^ви'ся е^мђ`, гл~я, і^ѓ'сифе сн~ђ двDвᲆ, не оу^бо'ися прїа'ти мр~їа'мъ жены твоеа`” РожDьшее б^о ся в не'и, эT дх~а е^сть ст~а”

And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name JESUS; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.
|
родиT же сн~а, и^ нарече'ши и^мя е^мђ` і^с~. то'и б^о сп~се'тъ лю'ди своя` эT грњхъ иX.

|
Now all this is come to pass, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying,
|
се' же вс^е бы'сть, да сᲆбђ'дется рече'ное эT г~а пррoкомъ гл~ющимъ”

|
Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; which is, being interpreted, God with us.
|
с^е дв~аа вᲆ чревњ прїи'метъ, и^ роди'тъ сн~а, и^ нарекђтъ и^мя е^мђ` е^мманђи^лᲆ, е^же е^сть скаꙁа'емо с на'ми б~ъ”

And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took unto him his wife;
|
въста'в# же і^ѓ'сифъ эT сна`, сътвори` ја%коже повелњ` е^мђ` а%гг~лъ гн~ь. и^ прїаT женђ` свою`

and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
|
и^ не ꙁнаа'ше ея`, до'ндеже роди` сн~а свое^го первенца`, и^ нарече` и^мя е^мђ і^с~”
