| And the Philistines gather their armies to battle, and gather themselves to Socchoth of Judæa, and encamp between Socchoth and Azeca Ephermen. | И# собирaша и3ноплемє1нницы полки2 сво‰ на брaнь, и3 собрaшасz въ сокхHfэ їудeйстэмъ, и3 њполчи1шасz средЁ сокхHfа и3 среди2 ґзикA во ґфесдоммjнэ. |

| And Saul and the men of Israel gather together, and they encamp in the valley, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. | Саyлъ же и3 мyжіе ї}лєвы собрaшасz и3 њполчи1шасz во ўд0ли теревjнfа и3 ўстроsхусz на брaнь проти1ву и3ноплемeнникwмъ. |

| And the Philistines stand on the mountain on one side, and Israel stands on the mountain on the other side, and the valley was between them. | И# и3ноплемє1нницы стоsху на горЁ tсю1ду nс0бь, ї}ль же стоsше на горЁ toнyду, и3 ўд0ль междY и4ми бsше. |

| And there went forth a mighty man out of the army of the Philistines, Goliath by name, out of Geth, his height was four cubits and a span. | И# и3зhде мyжъ си1ленъ и3з8 полкA и3ноплемeннича, и4мz є3мY голіafъ t гefа, высотA є3гw2 шeсть лакHтъ и3 пsдь: |

| And he had a helmet upon his head, and he wore a breastplate of chain armour; and the weight of his breastplate was five thousand shekels of brass and iron. | и3 шлeмъ мёдzнъ на главЁ є3гw2, и3 въ броню2 кольчaту т0й њболчeнъ бsше: и3 вёсъ брони2 є3гw2 пsть тhсzщъ с‡кль мёди и3 желёза: |

| And greaves of brass were upon his legs, and a brazen target was between his shoulders. | и3 пон0жы мBдzны верхY г0леній є3гw2, и3 щи1тъ мёдzнъ на плещaхъ є3гw2: |

| And the staff of his spear was like a weavers' beam, and the spear's head was formed of six hundred shekels of iron; and his armour-bearer went before him. | и3 рaтовище копіS є3гw2 ѓки nрyдіе ткyщихъ, и3 копіE є3гw2 шeсть сHтъ с‡кль желёза: и3 носsй nрyжіе є3гw2 и3дsше пред8 ни1мъ. |

| And he stood and cried to the army of Israel, and said to them, Why are ye come forth to set yourselves in battle array against us? Am not I a Philistine, and ye Hebrews of Saul? choose for yourselves a man, and let him come down to me. | И# стA и3 возопи2 пред8 полки6 ї}левыми и3 речE и5мъ: почто2 и3зыд0сте, њполчи1тисz ли на брaнь проти1ву нaмъ; нёсмь ли ѓзъ и3ноплемeнникъ, вh же є3врeє саyлwвы; и3збери1те себЁ мyжа, и3 да сни1детъ ко мнЁ: |

| And if he shall be able to fight against me, and shall smite me, then will we be your servants: but if I should prevail and smite him, ye shall be our servants, and serve us. | и3 ѓще возм0жетъ со мн0ю брaтисz и3 њдолёетъ ми2, бyдемъ вaмъ раби2: ѓще же ѓзъ возмогY њдолёти є3мY, бyдете вы2 нaмъ раби2 и3 пораб0таете нaмъ. |

| And the Philistine said, Behold, I have defied the armies of Israel this very day: give me a man, and we will both of us fight in single combat. | И# речE и3ноплемeнникъ: сE, ѓзъ днeсь ўничижи1хъ п0лкъ ї}левъ въ сeй дeнь: дади1те ми2 мyжа, и4же поб0ретсz со мн0ю є3ди1нъ. |

| And Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, and they were dismayed, and greatly terrified. | И# слhша саyлъ и3 вeсь ї}ль глаг0лы и3ноплемє1нничи сі‰ и3 ўжас0шасz и3 ўбоsшасz ѕэлw2. |

| And David son of an Ephrathite said, this Ephrathite was of Bethleem Juda, and his name was Jessae, and he had eight sons. And the man passed for an old man among men in the days of Saul. | Давjдъ же є3фраfeевъ, сeй бЁ t виfлеeма їyдина, и4мz же nтцY є3гw2 їессeй, є3мyже бЁ џсмь сынHвъ. Во дни6 же саyлwвы бЁ мyжъ т0й состарёсz въ мужeхъ. |

| And the three elder sons of Jessae went and followed Saul to the war, and the names of his sons that went to the war were, Eliab his first-born, and his second Aminadab, and his third son Samma. | И# и3д0ша три2 сhны їессeєвы старёйшіи на брaнь съ саyломъ: и3менa же сынHвъ є3гw2 пошeдшихъ на брaнь, є3ліaвъ первор0дный є3гw2, и3 вторhй ґмінадaвъ, и3 трeтій саммA. |

| And David himself was the younger son, and the three elder followed Saul. | Давjдъ же бЁ ю3нёйшій, и3 три2 б0лшіи є3гw2 и3д0ша в8слёдъ саyла. |

| And David departed and returned from Saul, to feed his father’s sheep in Bethleem; | Давjдъ же возврати1всz t саyла, tи1де пасти2 џвцы nтцA своегw2 въ виfлеeмъ. |

| And the Philistine advanced morning and evening, and stood up forty days. | И# прихождaше и3ноплемeнникъ ќтрw и3 въ вeчеръ, kвлszсz пред8 ї}лемъ четhредесzть днjй. |
|

| And Jessae said to David, Take now to thy brethren an ephah of this meal, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp and give them to thy brothers. | И# речE їессeй давjду сhну своемY: возми2 u5бо брaтіzмъ твои6мъ мёру є4фі муки2 и3 дeсzть хлBбъ си1хъ, и3 и3ди2 въ п0лкъ, и3 дaждь брaтіzмъ твои6мъ: |

| And thou shalt carry to the captain of the thousand these ten cheeses of milk, and thou shalt see how thy brethren fare, and learn what they want. | и3 дeсzть сhрwвъ t млекA сегw2, и3 дaждь тhсzщнику: и3 брaтію свою2 посэти2 въ ми1рэ, и3 є3ли1кихъ ѓще трeбуютъ, ўвёси, суббHтствовати же бyдеши со мн0ю. |

| And Saul himself and all the men of Israel were in the valley of the Oak, warring with the Philistines. | Саyлъ же и3 вси2 лю1діе бsху во ўд0ли дyба рaтующесz со и3ноплемє1нники. |

| And David rose early in the morning, and left the sheep to a keeper, and took and went as Jessae commanded him, and he came to the trench and to the army as it was going out to fight, and they shouted for the battle. | И# востA давjдъ рaнw, џвцы же њстaви со стрaжею, и3 взS, и3 tи1де, ћкоже заповёда є3мY nтeцъ є3гw2 їессeй: и3 пріи1де на мёсто, и3дёже и3схождaху си1льніи на брaнь и3 вопіsху въ полцёхъ. |

| And Israel and the Philistines formed their lines one opposite the other. | Занeже воwружaшесz ї}ль проти1ву и3ноплемeнникwмъ, и3 и3ноплемє1нницы воwружaхусz проти1ву ї}лz. |

| And David deposited his burden in the hand of a keeper, and ran to the line, and went and asked his brethren how they Were. | И# положи2 давjдъ брeмz своE въ рукaхъ стрaжа, и3 течE въ п0лкъ, и3 пришeдъ вопроси2 брaтію свою2 въ ми1рэ. |

| And while he was speaking with them, behold the Amessaean advanced, Goliath by name, the Philistine of Geth, of the armies of the Philistines, and he spoke as before, and David heard. | Глаг0лющу же є3мY съ ни1ми, и3 сE, мyжъ месeйскій, є3мyже и4мz голіafъ, фmлістjмлzнинъ t гefы, и3зhде t полкHвъ и3ноплемeнничихъ и3 глаг0ла по словесє1мъ си6мъ, и3 ўслhша давjдъ. |

| And all the men of Israel when they saw the man fled from before him, and they were greatly terrified. | И# вси2 мyжіе ї}лєвы є3гдA ўви1дэша мyжа, и3 бэжaша t лицA є3гw2 и3 ўбоsшасz ѕэлw2. |

| And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that comes up? for he has reproached Israel and has come up; and it shall be that the man who shall smite him, the king shall enrich him with great wealth and shall give him his daughter, and shall make his father’s house free in Israel. | И# рёша мyжіе ї}лтестіи: ви1дэсте ли мyжа сего2 восходsща, ћкw поноси1ти ї}лz пріи1де; и3 ѓще бyдетъ мyжъ, и4же ўбіeтъ є3го2, њбогати1тъ є3го2 цaрь богaтствомъ вeліимъ, и3 дщeрь свою2 дaстъ є3мY, и3 д0мъ nтцA є3гw2 сотвори1тъ своб0денъ во ї}ли. |

| and David spoke to the men who stood with him saying, Shall it indeed be done thus to the man who shall smite that Philistine, and take away reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he has defied the army of the living God? | И# речE давjдъ къ мужє1мъ стоsщымъ съ ни1мъ, глаг0лz: что2 сотворитE мyжу, и4же ўбіeтъ и3ноплемeнника џнаго и3 tи1метъ поношeніе t ї}лz; ћкw кто2 є4сть и3ноплемeнникъ неwбрёзанный сeй, и4же пон0ситъ полкY бGа живaгw; |

| And the people spoke to him according to this Word, saying Thus shall it be done to the man Who shall smite him. | И# рек0ша є3мY лю1діе по словеси2 семY, глаг0люще: тaкw сотвори1тсz мyжу, и4же ўбіeтъ є3го2. |

| And Eliab his elder brother heard as he spoke to the men, and Eliab was very angry with David and said, Why hast thou thus come down, and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the naughtiness of thine heart, for thou art come down to see the battle. | И# ўслhша є3ліaвъ брaтъ є3гw2 б0лшій, внегдA глаг0лати є3мY къ мужє1мъ: и3 разгнёвасz ћростію є3ліaвъ на давjда и3 речE: почто2 сёмw пришeлъ є3си2; и3 комY њстaвилъ є3си2 м†лыz џвцы w4ны въ пустhни; вёмъ ѓзъ г0рдость твою2 и3 ѕл0бу сeрдца твоегw2, ћкw видёніz рaди брaни пришeлъ є3си2. |

| And David said what have I done now? Have I no business here? | И# речE давjдъ: что2 сотвори1хъ нн7э; нёсть ли рёчь; |

| And he turned from him towards another, and he spoke after the same manner; and the people answered him after the former manner. | И# tврати1сz t негw2 ко и3н0му и3 речE по словеси2 семY. И# tвэщaша є3мY лю1діе по словеси2 прeжнему. |

| And the Words which David spoke were heard and were reported to Saul. And he took him to himself. | И# слы6шаны бhша глаг0лы, и5хже глаг0ла давjдъ, и3 возвэсти1ша пред8 саyломъ: и3 поsша є3го2 лю1діе и3 привед0ша є3го2 пред8 саyла. |

| And David said to Saul, Let not, I pray thee, the heart of my lord be dejected within him: thy servant will go, and fight with this Philistine. | И# речE давjдъ къ саyлу: да не ўжасaетсz сeрдце господи1ну моемY њ сeмъ, рaбъ тв0й п0йдетъ и3 поб0ретсz со и3ноплемeнникомъ си1мъ. |

| And Saul said to David, Thou wilt not in anywise be able to go against this Philistine to fight with him, for thou art a mere youth, and he a man of war from his youth. | И# речE саyлъ къ давjду: не возм0жеши пойти2 ко и3ноплемeннику семY брaтисz съ ни1мъ, ћкw ты2 дётищь є3си2, сeй же мyжъ борeцъ є4сть t ю4ности своеS. |

| And David said to Saul, Thy servant was tending the flock for his father; and when a lion came and a she-bear, and took a sheep out of the flock, | И# речE давjдъ къ саyлу: є3гдA пасsше рaбъ тв0й nтцA своегw2 стaдо, и3 є3гдA прихождaше лeвъ и3ли2 медвёдица и3 восхищaше t стaда џвцу є3ди1ну: |

| then I went forth after him, and smote him, and drew the spoil out of his mouth: and as he rose up against me, then I caught hold of his throat, and smote him, and slew him. | и3 ѓзъ в8слёдъ є3гw2 и3схождaхъ и3 поражaхъ є3го2, и3 и3сторгaхъ и3з8 ќстъ є3гw2 (взsтое): и3 ѓще воспротивлsшесz ми2, то2 взeмъ за гортaнь є3гw2, поражaхъ и3 ўмерщвлsхъ є3го2: |

| Thy servant smote both the lion and the bear, and the uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them: shall I not go and smite him, and remove this day a reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised one, who has defied the army of the living God? | и3 львA и3 медвёдицу біsше рaбъ тв0й, и3 бyдетъ и3ноплемeнникъ неwбрёзанный сeй ћкw є3ди1нъ t си1хъ: не поидy ли, и3 поражY є3го2, и3 tимY днeсь поношeніе t ї}лz; понeже кто2 неwбрёзанный сeй, и4же ўничижи2 п0лкъ бGа жи1ва; |

| The Lord who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this uncircumcised Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and the Lord shall be with thee. | И# речE давjдъ: гDь и4же и3з8sтъ мS t руки2 льв0вы и3 t руки2 медвёдицы, т0й и4зметъ мS t руки2 и3ноплемeнника сегw2 неwбрёзаннагw. И# речE саyлъ къ давjду: и3ди2, и3 да бyдетъ гDь съ тоб0ю. |

| And Saul clothed David with a military coat, and put his brazen helmet on his head. | И# њблечE саyлъ давjда nдeждею, и3 шлeмъ мёдzнъ возложи2 на главY є3гw2, |

| And he girt David with his sword over his coat: and he made trial walking with them once and again: and David said to Saul, I shall not be able to go with these, for I have not proved them: so they remove them from him. | и3 препоsса давjда nрyжіемъ свои1мъ верхY nдeжды є3гw2. Давjдъ же походи1въ (во nрyжіи) сёмw и3 nвaмw, ўтруди1сz, ћкw не њбhче. И# речE давjдъ саyлу: не могY и3ти2 въ си1хъ, ћкw не њбык0хъ. И# взsша t негw2 сі‰. |

| And he took his staff in his hand, and he chose for himself five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the shepherd's scrip which he had for his store, and his sling was in his hand; and he approached the Philistine. | И# взS пaлицу свою2 въ рyку свою2, и3 и3збрA себЁ пsть кaменій глaдкихъ t пот0ка, и3 вложи2 | въ тоб0лецъ пaстырскій є3г0же ношaше, и3 прaщу свою2 и3мhй въ руцЁ своeй, и3 и4де къ мyжу и3ноплемeннику. |

| And Goliath saw David, and despised him; for he was a lad, and ruddy, with a fair countenance. | И# ви1дэ голіafъ и3ноплемeнникъ давjда и3 њбезчeствова є3го2, занE т0й дётищь бЁ, и3 чeрменъ и3 лёпъ nчи1ма. |

| And the Philistine said to David, Am I as a dog, that thou comest against me with a staff and stones? and David said, Nay, but worse than a dog. And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. | И# речE и3ноплемeнникъ къ давjду: є3дA пeсъ ѓзъ є4смь, ћкw ты2 и4деши проти1ву менє2 съ пaлицею и3 кaменіемъ; И# речE давjдъ: ни2, но и3 хyждшій псA. И# проклS и3ноплемeнникъ давjда бHги свои1ми. |

| And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh to the birds of the air, and to the beasts of the earth. | И# речE и3ноплемeнникъ къ давjду: грzди2 ко мнЁ, и3 дaмъ пл0ть твою2 пти1цамъ небє1снымъ и3 ѕвэрє1мъ зємнhмъ. |

| And David said to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with sword, and with spear, and with shield; but I come to thee in the name of the Lord God of hosts of the army of Israel, which thou hast defied | И# речE давjдъ и3ноплемeннику: ты2 и4деши на мS съ мечeмъ и3 съ копіeмъ и3 щит0мъ, ѓзъ же и3дY на тS во и4мz гDа бGа саваHfа, бGа њполчeніz ї}лева, є3г0же ты2 ўничижи1лъ є3си2 днeсь: |

| this day. And the Lord shall deliver thee this day into my hand; and I will slay thee, and take away thy head from off thee, and will give thy limbs and the limbs of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky, and to the wild beasts of the earth; and all the earth shall know that there is a God in Israel. | и3 предaстъ тS гDь днeсь въ рyцэ мои2, и3 ўбію2 тS, и3 tимY главY твою2 t тебє2, и3 дaмъ тёло твоE и3 тэлесA полкA и3ноплемeннича въ дeнь сeй пти1цамъ небє1снымъ и3 ѕвэрє1мъ зємнhмъ: и3 ўразумёетъ всS землS, ћкw є4сть гDь бGъ во ї}ли, |

| And all this assembly shall know that the Lord delivers not by sword or spear, for the battle is the Lord's, and the Lord will deliver you into our hands. | и3 ўразумёетъ вeсь с0нмъ сeй, ћкw не мечeмъ ни копіeмъ сп7сaетъ гDь, ћкw гDнz брaнь, и3 предaстъ гDь вaсъ въ рyки нaшz. |

| And the Philistine arose and went to meet David. | И# востA и3ноплемeнникъ и3 и4де во срётеніе давjду. И# ўскори2 давjдъ и3 течE на сражeніе во срётеніе и3ноплемeннику. |

| And David stretched out his hand to his scrip, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone penetrated through the helmet into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the ground. | И# прострE давjдъ рyку свою2 въ тоб0лецъ, и3 и3з8S и3з8 негw2 кaмень є3ди1нъ, (и3 вложи2 въ прaщу,) и3 вeрже прaщею, и3 порази2 и3ноплемeнника въ чело2 є3гw2, и3 ўнзE кaмень под8 шлeмомъ є3гw2 въ чело2 є3гw2, и3 падE (голіafъ) на лицы2 своeмъ на зeмлю. |

| And David ran, and stood upon him, and took his sword, and slew him, and cut off his head: and the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, and they fled. | И# течE ск0рw давjдъ, и3 стA над8 ни1мъ, и3 взS мeчь є3гw2, и3 и3звлечE є3го2 t нёдръ є3гw2, и3 ўмертви2 є3го2, и3 tсэчE и4мъ главY є3гw2. И# ви1дэша и3ноплемє1нницы, ћкw ќмре си1льный и4хъ, и3 бэжaша. |

| And the men of Israel and Juda arose, and shouted and pursued them as far as the entrance to Geth, and as far as the gate of Ascalon: and the slain men of the Philistines fell in the way of the gates, both to Geth, and to Accaron. | И# востaша мyжіе ї}лєвы и3 ї{дины и3 воскли1кнуша, и3 погнaша созади2 и4хъ дaже до вх0да гefова и3 до врaтъ ґскалHнскихъ: и3 пад0ша ўsзвленни (мн0зи) и3ноплемє1нницы по пути2 врaтъ и3 дaже до гefа и3 ґккарHна. |

| And the men of Israel returned from pursuing after the Philistines, and they destroyed their camp. | И# возврати1шасz мyжіе ї}лєвы гнaвшіи в8слёдъ и3ноплемє1нникъ, и3 потоптaша полки2 и4хъ. |

| And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. | И# взS давjдъ главY и3ноплемeнника и3 внесE ю5 во їеrли1мъ, и3 nрyжіе є3гw2 положи2 во хрaминэ своeй. |
