Now in these days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a murmuring of the Grecian Jews against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
|
Во дне́хъ же си́хъ, умно́жившымся ученико́мъ, бы́сть ропта́ніє Є́ллиновъ ко Євре́омъ, я́ко презира́ємы быва́ху во вседне́внѣмъ служе́ніи вдови́цы и́хъ.

And the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not fit that we should forsake the word of God, and serve tables.
|
Призва́вше же двана́десять мно́жество учени́къ, рѣ́ша: не уго́дно є́сть на́мъ, оста́вльшымъ сло́во Бо́жіє, служи́ти трапе́замъ:

Look ye out therefore, brethren, from among you seven men of good report, full of the Holy Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint over this business.
|
усмотри́те у́бо, бра́тіє, му́жы от ва́съ свидѣ́телствованы се́дмь, испо́лнены Ду́ха Свя́та и прему́дрости, и́хже поста́вимъ надъ слу́жбою се́ю:

But we will continue steadfastly in prayer, and in the ministry of the word.
|
мы́ же въ моли́твѣ и служе́ніи сло́ва пребу́демъ.
|

|
And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolaus a proselyte of Antioch;
|
И уго́дно бы́сть сло́во сіє́ предъ всѣ́мъ наро́домъ: и избра́ша Стефа́на, му́жа испо́лнена вѣ́ры и Ду́ха Свя́та, и Філі́ппа, и Про́хора и Нікано́ра, и Ті́мона и Парме́на, и Нікола́а прише́лца Антіохі́йскаго,

whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands upon them.
|
и́хже поста́виша предъ апо́столы: и помоли́вшеся возложи́ша на ня́ ру́цѣ.

And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem exceedingly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
|
И сло́во Бо́жіє растя́ше, и мно́жашеся число́ учени́къ во Ієрусали́мѣ зѣло́: мно́гъ же наро́дъ свяще́нниковъ послу́шаху вѣ́ры.

|
And Stephen, full of faith and power, wrought great wonders and signs among the people.
|
Стефа́нъ же испо́лнь вѣ́ры и си́лы творя́ше зна́менія и чудеса́ ве́лія въ лю́дехъ.

|
But there arose certain of them that were of the synagogue called the synagogue of the Libertines, and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.
|
Воста́ша же нѣ́цыи от со́нма глаго́лемаго Ліверті́нска и Кирине́йска и Алекса́ндрска, и и́же от Кілікі́и и Асі́и, стяза́ющеся со Стефа́номъ:

And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spake.
|
и не можа́ху противуста́ти прему́дрости и Ду́ху, И́мже глаго́лаше.
|

|
Then they suborned men, who said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God.
|
Тогда́ подусти́ша му́жы глаго́лющыя, я́ко слы́шахомъ єго́ глаго́люща глаго́лы ху́лныя на Моисе́а и на Бо́га.

And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and seized him, and brought him into the council,
|
Сподвиго́ша же лю́ди и ста́рцы и кни́жники, и напа́дше восхи́тиша єго́ и приведо́ша на со́нмище,
|
|

|
|
and set up false witnesses, who said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against the holy place, and the law:
|
поста́виша же свидѣ́тели ло́жны глаго́лющыя, я́ко человѣ́къ се́й не престає́тъ глаго́лы ху́лныя глаго́ля на мѣ́сто свято́є сіє́ и зако́нъ:

|
for we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered unto us.
|
слы́шахомъ бо єго́ глаго́люща, я́ко Іису́съ Назоре́й се́й разори́тъ мѣ́сто сіє́ и измѣни́тъ обы́чаи, я́же предаде́ на́мъ Моисе́й.

|
And all that sat in the council, fastening their eyes on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
|
И воззрѣ́вше на́нь вси́ сѣдя́щіи въ со́нмищи, ви́дѣша лице́ єго́ я́ко лице́ А́нгела.
