| И# пріи1де во всю2 странY їoрдaнскую, проповёдаz крещeніе покаsніz во њставлeніе грэхHвъ: | And he came into all the region round about the Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance unto remission of sins; |

| ћкоже є4сть пи1сано въ кни1зэ словeсъ и3сaіи прbр0ка, глаг0люща: глaсъ вопію1щаго въ пустhни: ўгот0вайте пyть гDнь: пр†вы твори1те стєзи2 є3гw2: | as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make ye ready the way of the Lord, Make his paths straight. |

| всsка дeбрь и3сп0лнитсz, и3 всsка горA и3 х0лмъ смири1тсz: и3 бyдутъ стр0пwтнаz въ пр†ваz, и3 џстріи въ пути6 гл†дки: | Every valley shall be filled, And every mountain and hill shall be brought low; And the crooked shall become straight, And the rough ways smooth; |

| And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. |

| Глаг0лаше же и3сходsщымъ нар0дwмъ крести1тисz t негw2: порождє1ніz є3хjднwва, кто2 сказA вaмъ бэжaти t грzдyщагw гнёва; | He said therefore to the multitudes that went out to be baptized of him, Ye offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? |

| Сотвори1те u5бо плоды2 достHины покаsніz: и3 не начинaйте глаг0лати въ себЁ: nтцA и4мамы ґвраaма: глаг0лю бо вaмъ, ћкw м0жетъ бGъ t кaменіz сегw2 воздви1гнути ч†да ґвраaму. | Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. |
9
9
| Ўжe бо и3 сэки1ра при к0рени дрeва лежи1тъ: всsко u5бо дрeво, не творsщее плодA добрA, посэкaетсz и3 во џгнь вметaетсz. | And even now the axe also lieth at the root of the trees: every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. |
10
10
| И# вопрошaху є3го2 нар0ди, глаг0люще: что2 u5бо сотвори1мъ; | And the multitudes asked him, saying, What then shall we do? |
11
11
| And he answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath food, let him do likewise. |
12
12
| Пріид0ша же и3 мhтари крести1тисz t негw2, и3 рёша къ немY: ўчи1телю, что2 сотвори1мъ; | And there came also publicans to be baptized, and they said unto him, Teacher, what shall we do? |
13
13
| And he said unto them, Extort no more than that which is appointed you. |
14
14
| And soldiers also asked him, saying, And we, what shall we do? And he said unto them, Extort from no man by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully; and be content with your wages. |
15
15
| Чaющымъ же лю1демъ, и3 помышлsющымъ всBмъ въ сердцaхъ свои1хъ њ їwaннэ, є3дA т0й є4сть хrт0съ, | And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ; |
16
16
| tвэщавaше їwaннъ всBмъ, глаг0лz: ѓзъ ќбw вод0ю крещaю вы2: грzдeтъ же крёплій менє2, є3мyже нёсмь дост0инъ tрэши1ти ремeнь сапwгY є3гw2: т0й вы2 крести1тъ д¦омъ с™hмъ и3 nгнeмъ: | John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire: |
17
17
| whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire. |
18
18
| With many other exhortations therefore preached he good tidings unto the people; |

‹.) И$рwдъ же четвертовлaстникъ, њбличaемъ t негw2 њ и3рwдіaдэ женЁ брaта своегw2, и3 њ всёхъ, ±же сотвори2 ѕл†z и4рwдъ, | but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done, |

| added this also to them all, that he shut up John in the prison. |
21
21
| Бhсть же є3гдA кrти1шасz вси2 лю1діе, и3 ї}су кRщшусz и3 молsщусz, tвeрзесz нeбо, | Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that, Jesus also having been baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, |
22
22
| and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form, as a dove, upon him, and a voice came out of heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. |
