Chapter 22	Глава 22

1	1
And he rested three years, and there was no war between Syria and Israel.	Прожили три роки, і не було війни між Сирією й Ізраїлем.

And it came to pass in the third year, that Josaphat king of Juda went down to the king of Israel.	На третій рік Іосафат, цар Юдейський, пішов до царя Ізраїльського.

And the king of Israel said to his servants, Know ye that Remmath Galaad is ours, and we are slow to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?	І сказав цар Ізраїльський слугам своїм: чи знаєте, що Рамоф галаадський наш? А ми так довго мовчимо, і не беремо його з руки царя Сирійського.

And the king of Israel said to Josaphat, Wilt thou go up with us to Remmath Galaad to battle?	І сказав він Іосафату: чи підеш ти зі мною на війну проти Рамофа галаадського? І сказав Іосафат царю Ізраїльському: як ти, так і я; як твій народ, так і мій народ; як твої коні, так і мої коні.

And Josaphat said, As I am, so art thou also; as my people, so is thy people; as my horses, so are thy horses. And Josaphat king of Juda said to the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, of the Lord to-day.	І сказав Іосафат царю Ізраїльському: запитай сьогодні, що скаже Господь.

And the king of Israel gathered all the prophets together, about four hundred men; and the king said to them, Shall I go up to Remmath Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? and they said, Go up, and the Lord will surely give it into the hands of the king.	І зібрав цар Ізраїльський пророків, близько чотирьохсот чоловік, і сказав їм: чи йти мені війною на Рамоф галаадський, чи ні? Вони сказали: йди, Господь віддасть його в руки царя.

And Josaphat said to the king of Israel, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may enquire of the Lord by him?	І сказав Іосафат: чи немає тут ще пророка Господнього, щоб нам запитати через нього Господа?

And the king of Israel said to Josaphat, There is one man here for us to enquire of the Lord by; but I hate him, for he does not speak good of me, but only evil; Michaias son of Jemblaa. And Josaphat king of Juda said, Let not the king say so.	І сказав цар Ізраїльський Іосафату: є ще один чоловік, через якого можна запитати Господа, але я не люблю його, тому що він не пророкує про мене доброго, а тільки лихе, — це Михей, син Іємвлая. І сказав Іосафат: не говори, царю, так.

And the king of Israel called a eunuch and said, Bring hither quickly Michaias son of Jemblaa.	І покликав цар Ізраїльський одного євнуха і сказав: сходи скоріше за Михеєм, сином Іємвлая.

And the king of Israel and Josaphat king of Juda sat, each on his throne, armed in the gates of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.	Цар Ізраїльський і Іосафат, цар Юдейський, сиділи кожен на сідалищі своєму, одягнені у царський одяг, на площі біля воріт Самарії, і всі пророки пророкували перед ними.

And Sedekias son of Chanaan made for himself iron horns, and said, Thus saith the Lord, With these thou shalt push Syria, until it be consumed.	І зробив собі Седекія, син Хенаани, залізні роги, і сказав: так говорить Господь: цими забодаєш сиріян до знищення їх.

And all the prophets prophesied in like manner, saying, Go up to Remmath Galaad, and the thing shall prosper, and the Lord shall deliver it and the king of Syria into thine hands.	І всі пророки пророкували те саме, говорячи: йди на Рамоф галаадський, буде успіх, Господь віддасть його в руку царя.

And the messenger that went to call Michaias spoke to him, saying, Behold now, all the prophets speak with one mouth good concerning the king, let now thy words be like the words of one of them, and speak good things.	Посланий, який пішов покликати Михея, говорив йому: ось, слова пророків одноголосно передвіщають цареві добре; нехай би і твоє слово було згідне зі словом кожного з них; проречи і ти добре.

And Michaias said, As the Lord lives, whatsoever the Lord shall say to me, that will I speak.	І сказав Михей: живий Господь! я проречу те, що скаже мені Господь.

And he came to the king: and the king said to him, Michaias, shall I go up to Remmath Galaad to battle, or shall I forbear? and he said, Go up, and the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.	І прийшов він до царя. Цар сказав йому: Михею! чи йти нам війною на Рамоф галаадський, чи ні? І сказав той йому: йди, буде успіх, Господь віддасть його в руку царя.

And the king said to him, How often shall I adjure thee, that thou speak to me truth in the name of the Lord?	І сказав йому цар: ще і ще заклинаю тебе, щоб ти не говорив мені нічого, крім істини в ім’я Господа.

And he said, Not so. I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains as a flock without a shepherd: and the Lord said, Is not God lord of these? let each one return to his home in peace.	І сказав він: я бачу всіх ізраїльтян, розсіяних по горах, як овець, у яких немає пастиря. І сказав Господь: немає в них начальника, нехай повертаються з миром кожен у свій дім.

And the king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda, Did I not say to thee that this man does not prophesy good to me, for he speaks nothing but evil?	І сказав цар Ізраїльський Іосафату: чи не говорив я тобі, що він не пророкує про мене доброго, а тільки лихе?

And Michaias said, Not so, it is not I: hear the word of the Lord; it is not so. I saw the God of Israel sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven stood about him on his right hand and on his left.	І сказав [Михей]: [не так; не я, а] вислухай слово Господнє: я бачив Господа, що сидить на престолі Своєму, і все воїнство небесне стояло при Ньому, праворуч і ліворуч від Нього;

And the Lord said, Who will deceive Achaab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall in Remmath Galaad? and one spoke one way, and another another way.	і сказав Господь: хто схилив би Ахава, щоб він пішов і загинув у Рамофі галаадському? І один говорив так, інший говорив інакше;

And there came forth a spirit and stood before the Lord, and said, I will deceive him.	і виступив один дух, став перед лицем Господа і сказав: я схилю його. І сказав йому Господь: чим?

And the Lord said to him, Whereby? And he said, I will go forth, and will be a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt deceive him, yea, and shalt prevail: go forth, and do so.	Він сказав: я вийду і зроблюся духом неправдивим у вустах усіх пророків його. Господь сказав: ти схилиш його і виконаєш це; піди і зроби так.

And now, behold, the Lord has put a false spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the Lord has spoken evil against thee.	І ось, тепер попустив Господь духа неправдивого у вуста всіх цих пророків твоїх; але Господь прорік про тебе недобре.

And Sedekias the son of Chanaan came near and smote Michaias on the cheek, and said, What sort of a spirit of the Lord has spoken in thee?	І підійшов Седекія, син Хенаани, і, вдаривши Михея по щоці, сказав: як, невже від мене відійшов Дух Господній, щоб говорити в тобі?

And Michaias said, Behold, thou shalt see in that day, when thou shalt go into an innermost chamber to hide thyself there.	І сказав Михей: ось, ти побачиш це в той день, коли будеш бігати з однієї кімнати в іншу, щоб сховатися,

And the king of Israel said, Take Michaias, and convey him away to Semer the keeper of the city;	і сказав цар Ізраїльський: візьміть Михея і відведіть його до Амона градоначальника і до Іоаса, сина царя,

and tell Joas the king's son to put this fellow in prison, and to feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction until I return in peace.	і скажіть: так говорить цар: посадіть цього у в’язницю і годуйте його скудно хлібом і скудно водою, доки я не повернусь у мирі.

And Michaias said, If thou return at all in peace, the Lord has not spoken by me.	І сказав Михей: якщо повернешся у мирі, то не Господь говорив через мене. І сказав: слухай, весь народе!

So the king of Israel went up, and Josaphat king of Juda with him to Remmath Galaad.	І пішов цар Ізраїльський та Іосафат, цар Юдейський, до Рамофа галаадського.

And the king of Israel said to Josaphat king of Juda, I will disguise myself, and enter into the battle, and do thou put on my raiment. So the king of Israel disguised himself, and went into the battle.	І сказав цар Ізраїльський Іосафату: я переодягнусь і вступлю в битву, а ти вдягни твій царський одяг. І переодягся цар Ізраїльський і вступив у битву.

And the king of Syria had charged the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, Fight not against small or great, but against the king of Israel only.	Сирійський цар повелів начальникам колісниць, яких у нього було тридцять два, сказавши: не боріться ні з малим, ні з великим, а тільки з одним царем Ізраїльським.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Josaphat king of Juda, that they said, This seems to be the king of Israel. And they compassed him about to fight against him; and Josaphat cried out.	Начальники колісниць, побачивши Іосафата, подумали: «мабуть, це цар Ізраїльський», і повернули на нього, щоб битися з ним . І закричав Іосафат.

And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that this was not the king of Israel, that they returned from him.	Начальники колісниць, бачачи, що це не Ізраїльський цар, повернули від нього.

And one drew a bow with a good aim, and smote the king of Israel between the lungs and the breast-plate: and he said to his charioteer, Turn thine hands, and carry me away out of the battle, for I am wounded.	А один чоловік випадково натягнув лук і поранив царя Ізраїльського крізь шви лат. І сказав він своєму візникові: поверни назад і вивези мене з війська, бо я поранений.

And the war was turned in that day, and the king was standing on the chariot against Syria from morning till evening; and he shed the blood out of his wound, into the bottom of the chariot, and died at even, and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.	Але битва у той день посилилася, і цар стояв на колісниці проти сиріян, і ввечері помер, і кров з рани лилася в колісницю.

And the herald of the army stood at sunset, saying, Let every man go to his own city and his own land,	І проголошено було по всьому стану при заходженні сонця: кожен іди у своє місто, кожен у свою землю!

for the king is dead. And they came to Samaria, and buried the king in Samaria.	І помер цар, і привезли його у Самарію, і поховали царя у Самарії.

And they washed the chariot at the fountain of Samaria; and the swine and the dogs licked up the blood, and the harlots washed themselves in the blood, according to the word of the Lord which he spoke.	І обмили колісницю на ставу самарійському, і пси лизали кров його, і обмивали блудниці, за словом Господа, яке Він прорік.

And the rest of the acts of Achaab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities which he built, behold, are not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?	Інші діла Ахава, усе, що він робив, і дім зі слонової кістки, який він побудував, і всі міста, які він будував, описані у літописі царів ізраїльських.

And Achaab slept with his fathers, and Ochozias his son reigned in his stead.	І спочив Ахав з батьками своїми, і став царем Охозія, син його, замість нього.

And Josaphat the son of Asa reigned over Juda: in the fourth year of Achaab king of Israel began Josaphat to reign.	Іосафат, син Аси, став царем Юдеї в четвертий рік Ахава, царя Ізраїльського.

Thirty and five years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Azuba daughter of Salai.	Тридцяти п’яти років був Іосафат, коли став царем, і двадцять п’ять років царював у Єрусалимі. Ім’я матері його Азува, дочка Салаїля.

And he walked in all the way of Asa his father: he turned not from it, even from doing that which was right in the eyes of the Lord.	Він ходив у всьому шляхом батька свого Аси, не сходив з нього, роблячи угодне перед очима Господніми. Тільки висоти не були знищені; народ ще приносив жертви і куріння на висотах.

Only he took not away any of the high places: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense on the high places.	Іосафат уклав мир з царем Ізраїльським.

And Josaphat was at peace with the king of Israel.	Інші діла Іосафата і подвиги його, які він звершив, і як він воював, описані у літописі царів юдейських.

And the rest of the acts of Josaphat, and his mighty deeds, whatever he did, behold, are not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Juda?	І залишки блудників, які залишилися у дні батька його Аси, він знищив із землі.

And Josaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried by his fathers in the city of David his father, and Joram his son reigned in his stead.	Охозія, син Ахава, став царем над Ізраїлем у Самарії, у сімнадцятий рік Іосафата, царя Юдейського, і царював над Ізраїлем [у Самарії] два роки,

And Ochozias son of Achaab reigned over Israel in Samaria: in the seventeenth year of Josaphat king of Juda, Ochozias son of Achaab reigned over Israel in Samaria two years.	і робив неугодне перед очима Господа, і ходив шляхом батька свого і шляхом матері своєї і шляхом Ієровоама, сина Наватового, який увів Ізраїля у гріх:

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Achaab his father, and in the way of Jezabel his mother, and in the sins of the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, who caused Israel to sin.	він служив Ваалу і поклонявся йому і прогнівив Господа Бога Ізраїлевого всім тим, що робив батько його.

And he served Baalim, and worshipped them, and provoked the Lord God of Israel, according to all that had been done before him.
