Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy begat us again unto a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,	Благословен Бог і Отець Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, Який з великої Своєї милости відродив нас воскресінням Ісуса Христа з мертвих для живого уповання‚

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, ye have been put to grief in manifold trials,	Цьому радійте, посумувавши тепер трохи, якщо треба, від різних спокус,

that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and honor and unto glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ:	щоб випробувана віра ваша виявилася коштовнішою за золото, що гине, хоч і очищається вогнем, на похвалу і честь і славу під час об’явлення Ісуса Христа,

whom not having known ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and full of glory:	Якого, не бачивши, любите, і в Якого віруєте, хоч донині не бачили, і радієте радістю невимовною і преславною,

receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.	досягаючи, нарешті, вірою вашою спасіння душ.

Concerning which salvation the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:	Цього-то спасіння стосувалися шукання і дослідження пророків, які провіщали про визначену вам благодать,

searching what time or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did point unto, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them.	досліджуючи, на котрий чи на який час указував сущий в них Дух Христа, провіщаючи спочатку Христові страждання і наступну за ними славу.

To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.	Їм же було відкрито, що не їм самим, а нам служило те, що нині проповідане вам Духом Святим через благовісників, посланих із неба, у що бажають проникнути ангели.

Wherefore girding up the loins of your mind, be sober and set your hope perfectly on the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;	Тому, улюблені, підперезавши стегна розуму вашого, пильнуючи, майте досконалу надію на благодать, що подається вам у явленні Ісуса Христа.

as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance:	Як слухняні діти, не потурайте похотям, що були в час вашого невідання,

but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living;	але, за прикладом Святого, Який покликав вас, і самі будьте святі в усіх вчинках.

because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.	Бо написано: «Будьте святі — Я бо святий».

And if ye call on him as Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to each man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:	І якщо ви називаєте Отцем того, Який, не зважаючи на особу, судить кожного по ділах, то зі страхом проводьте час мандрування вашого,

knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;	знаючи, що не тлінним сріблом або золотом визволені ви від суєтного життя, переданого вам від батьків,

but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ:	а дорогоцінною Кров’ю Христа, як непорочного і чистого Агнця,

who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the last times for your sake,	призначеного ще раніше створення світу, але явленого останнім часом для вас,

who through him do believe in God, that raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.	що увірували через Hього в Бога, Який воскресив Його з мертвих і дав Йому славу, щоб ви мали віру і уповання на Бога.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another from a clean heart fervently:	Послухом істині через Духа, очистивши душі ваші для нелицемірного братолюбства, постійно любіть один одного від чистого серця,

having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.	як відроджені не від тлінного насіння, а від нетлінного, від Слова Бога Живого, Який перебуває повік.

For, All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth:	Бо всяка плоть як трава, і всяка слава людська як цвіт на травi; як засохне трава, і цвіт її одпаде;

But the word of the Lord abideth forever. And this is the word of good tidings which was preached unto you.	Слово ж Господнє перебуває повік; а це є те Слово, яке проповідане вам.
