The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:	Пастирів ваших благаю я, співпастир, і свідок страждань Христових‚ і співучасник слави, що має відкритися:

Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;	пасіть Боже стадо, яке у вас, доглядаючи його не примусово, а охоче і Боговгодно не для ганебної користи, а щиро;

neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.	і не пануючи над спадщиною Божою, а подаючи приклад стадовi;

And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.	і коли з’явиться Пастиреначальник, ви одержите нев’янучий вінець слави.

Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder: yea, all of you being subject one to another, gird yourselves with humility: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.	Також і молодші, будьте покірні пастирям; а всі, покоряючись один одному, одягніться у смиренномудрість, бо Бог гордим противиться, а смиренним дає благодать.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;	Отже, смиріться під міцною рукою Божою, щоб підніс вас свого часу.

casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.	Усі турботи ваші покладіть на Hього, бо Він піклується про вас.

Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking someone to devour:	Будьте тверезі, пильнуйте, бо супротивник ваш диявол ходить, рикаючи, наче лев, і шукає, кого б пожерти.

whom withstand steadfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.	Станьте проти нього міцною вірою, знаючи, що такі самі страждання трапляються і з вашими браттями у світі.

And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a little while, himself perfect you; he shall establish, strengthen, settle you.	Бог же всякої благодаті, Який покликав нас до вічної слави Своєї у Христі Ісусі, Сам при короткочасному стражданні вашому нехай удосконалить вас, нехай утвердить, нехай зміцнить і нехай зробить непохитними.

To him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.	Йому слава й держава на віки віків. Амінь.

By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account him, I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.	Це коротко написав я вам через Силуана, вірного, як гадаю, вашого брата, щоб упевнити вас, утішаючи і засвідчуючи, що це істинна благодать Божа, в якій ви перебуваєте.

She that is in Babylon, elect together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Mark my son.	Вітає вас обрана, як і ви, церква у Вавилоні і Марк, син мій.
