| And it came to pass after this that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Annon his son reigned in his stead. | И# бhсть по си1хъ, и3 ќмре цaрь сынHвъ ґммHнихъ, и3 цaрствова сhнъ є3гw2 ґннHнъ вмёстw є3гw2. |

| And David said, I will shew mercy to Annon the son of Naas, as his father dealt mercifully with me. And David sent to comfort him concerning his father by the hand of his servants; and the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon. | И# речE давjдъ: сотворю2 ми1лость со ґннHномъ сhномъ наaсовымъ, и4мже џбразомъ сотвори2 nтeцъ є3гw2 ми1лость со мн0ю. И# послA давjдъ ўтёшити є3го2 рук0ю рабHвъ свои1хъ њ nтцЁ є3гw2. И# пріид0ша џтроцы давjдwвы въ зeмлю сынHвъ ґммHнихъ. |

| And the princes of the children of Ammon said to Annon their lord, Is it to honour thy father before thee that David has sent comforters to thee? Has not David rather sent his servants to thee that they should search the city, and spy it out and examine it? | И# рёша старBйшины сынHвъ ґммHнихъ ко ґннHну господи1ну своемY: є3дA прославлeніz рaди nтцA твоегw2 пред8 тоб0ю послA къ тебЁ давjдъ ўтёшитєли; не да и3спытaютъ ли грaдъ, и3 соглsдаютъ є3го2, є4же разруши1ти є3го2, послA давjдъ рабы6 сво‰ къ тебЁ; |

| And Annon took the servants of David, and shaved their beards, and cut off their garments in the midst as far as their haunches, and sent them away. | И# взS ґннHнъ џтроки давjдwвы, и3 њстрижE полови1ну брaдъ и4хъ, и3 њбрёза nдэ‰ніz и4хъ полови1ну дaже до чрeслъ и4хъ, и3 tпусти2 и5хъ. |

| And they brought David word concerning the men; and he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly dishonoured: and the king said, Remain in Jericho till your beards have grown, and then ye shall return. | И# возвэсти1ша давjду њ мужeхъ, и3 послA въ срётеніе и5мъ, ћкw бёша мyжіе тjи њбезчeщени ѕэлw2. И# речE цaрь: сэди1те во їеріхHнэ, д0ндеже возрастyтъ брады6 вaшz, и3 возвратитeсz. |

| And the children of Ammon saw that the people of David were ashamed; and the children of Ammon sent, and hired the Syrians of Bæthraam, and the Syrians of Suba, and Roob, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Amalec with a thousand men, and Istob with twelve thousand men. | И# ви1дэша сhнове ґммw6ни, ћкw посрaмлени бhша лю1діе давjдwвы: и3 послaша сhнове ґммw6ни, и3 наsша сmрjю веfраaмлю, и3 сmрjю сyвску и3 роHвлю двaдесzть тhсzщъ пэшцє1въ, и3 царS ґмали1ка маaха тhсzщу мужeй, и3 їстHва дванaдесzть тhсzщъ мужeй. |

| And David heard, and sent Joab and all his host, even the mighty men. | И# слhша давjдъ, и3 послA їwaва и3 всю2 си1лу си1льныхъ. |

| And the children of Ammon went forth, and set the battle in array by the door of the gate: those of Syria, Suba, and Roob, and Istob, and Amalec, being by themselves in the field. | И# и3зыд0ша сhнове ґммw6ни, и3 ўстр0иша брaнь пред8 враты2 грaда: сmрjа же сyвска и3 роHвъ, и3 їстHвъ и3 ґмали1къ, є3ди1ни (стaша) на селЁ. |

| And Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him from that which was opposed in front and from behind, and he chose out some of all the young men of Israel, and they set themselves in array against Syria. | И# ви1дэ їwaвъ, ћкw бhсть на него2 проти1вное лицE брaни сопреди2 и3 созади2, и3 и3збрA t всёхъ ю4ношъ ї}левыхъ, и3 ўстр0и и5хъ проти1ву сmрjанъ, |

| And the rest of the people he gave into the hand of Abessa his brother, and they set the battle in array opposite to the children of Ammon. | њстaнокъ же людjй дадE въ рyцэ брaту своемY ґвeссэ и3 ўстр0и | проти1ву сынHвъ ґммHнихъ, |

| And he said, If Syria be too strong for me, then shall ye help me: and if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then will we be ready to help thee. | и3 речE (їwaвъ ко ґвeссэ): ѓще ўкрэпи1тсz сmрjа пaче менє2, и3 бyдете мнЁ на спасeніе: ѓще же ўкрэпsтсz сhнове ґммw6ни пaче тебє2, и3 бyдемъ спасaти тS: |

| Be thou courageous, and let us be strong for our people, and for the sake of the cities of our God, and the Lord shall do that which is good in his eyes. | мужaимсz и3 ўкрэпи1мсz њ лю1дехъ нaшихъ и3 њ градёхъ бGа нaшегw, и3 гDь сотвори1тъ бlг0е пред8 nчи1ма свои1ма. |

| And Joab and his people with him advanced to battle against Syria, and they fled from before him. | И# пріи1де їwaвъ и3 лю1діе є3гw2 съ ни1мъ на брaнь на сmрjю, и3 побэг0ша t лицA є3гw2. |

| And the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, and they fled from before Abessa, and entered into the city: and Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem. | И# ви1дэша сhнове ґммw6ни, ћкw бэжaша сmрjане, и3 бэжaша t лицA ґвeссы и3 внид0ша во грaдъ. И# возврати1сz їwaвъ t сынHвъ ґммHнихъ, и3 пріи1де во їеrли1мъ. |

| And the Syrians saw that they were worsted before Israel, and they gathered themselves together. | И# ви1дэша сmрjане, ћкw пад0ша пред8 ї}лемъ, и3 собрaшасz вкyпэ. |

| And Adraazar sent and gathered the Syrians from the other side of the river Chalamak, and they came to Ælam; and Sobac the captain of the host of Adraazar was at their head. | И# послA ґдраазaръ, и3 собрA сmрjаны, и5же њб8 w4нъ п0лъ рэки2 халамaка, и3 пріид0ша во є3лaмъ: и3 сwвaкъ старёйшина си1лы ґдраазaровы пред8 ни1ми. |

| And it was reported to David, and he gathered all Israel, and went over Jordan, and came to Ælam: and the Syrians set the battle in array against David, and fought with him. | И# возвэсти1ша давjду, и3 собрA всего2 ї}лz, и3 прeйде їoрдaнъ, и3 пріи1де во є3лaмъ. И# ўстр0ишасz сmрjане на давjда, и3 брaшасz съ ни1мъ, |

| And Syria fled from before Israel, and David destroyed of Syria seven hundred chariots, and forty thousand horsemen, and he smote Sobac the captain of his host, and he died there. | и3 бэжaша сmрjане t лицA ї}лтzнъ. И# tS давjдъ t сmрjи сeдмь сHтъ колесни1цъ и3 четhредесzть тhсzщъ кHнникъ, и3 сwвакA старёйшину си1лы є3гw2 ўби2, и3 ќмре тaмw. |

| And all the kings the servants of Adraazar saw that they were put to the worse before Israel, and they went over to Israel, and served them: and Syria was afraid to help the children of Ammon any more. | И# ви1дэша вси2 цaріе раби2 ґдраазaрwвы, ћкw пад0ша пред8 ї}лемъ, и3 пребэг0ша ко ї}лю и3 раб0таша и5мъ: и3 ўбоsшасz сmрjане спасaти ктомY сынHвъ ґммHнихъ. |
