1
And it came to pass after this that Abessalom prepared for himself chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.
2
2
And Abessalom rose early, and stood by the side of the way of the gate: and it came to pass that every man who had a cause, came to the king for judgment, and Abessalom cried to him, and said to him, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. и3 воставaше рaнw ґвессалHмъ, и3 стоsше при сaмэмъ пути2 врaтъ: и3 бhсть всsкъ мyжъ, є3мyже бsше прS, пріи1де пред8 царS на сyдъ, и3 возопи2 къ немY ґвессалHмъ, и3 глаг0лаше є3мY: t к0егw грaда ты2 є3си2; И# речE є3мY мyжъ: t є3ди1нагw колёнъ ї}левыхъ рaбъ тв0й.
3
3
And Abessalom said to him, See, thy affairs are right and clear, yet thou hast no one appointed of the king to hear thee.
4
4
And Abessalom said, O that one would make me a judge in the land; then every man who had a dispute or a cause would come to me, and I would judge him! И# речE ґвессалHмъ: кт0 мz постaвитъ судію2 на земли2, и3 ко мнЁ пріи1детъ всsкъ мyжъ и3мёzй прю2 и3 сyдъ, и3 њправдaю є3го2;
5
5
And it came to pass when a man came near to do him obeisance, that he stretched out his hand, and took hold of him, and kissed him. И# бhсть є3гдA приближaшесz мyжъ поклони1тисz є3мY, и3 простирaше рyку свою2, и3 пріимaше є3го2, и3 цэловaше є3го2.
6
6
And Abessalom did after this manner to all Israel that came to the king for judgment; and Abessalom gained the hearts of the men of Israel.
7
7
And it came to pass after forty years, that Abessalom said to his father, I will go now, and pay my vows, which I vowed to the Lord in Chebron. И# бhсть t концA четhредесzти лётъ, и3 речE ґвессалHмъ ко nтцY своемY: пойдY нн7э и3 воздaмъ њбёты мо‰, ±же њбэщaхъ гDу въ хеврHнэ:
8
8
For thy servant vowed a vow when I dwelt at Gedsur in Syria, saying, If the Lord should indeed restore me to Jerusalem, then will I serve the Lord. занE њбётъ њбэщA рaбъ тв0й, є3гдA жи1хъ въ гедсyрэ сmрjйстэмъ, глаг0лz: ѓще возвращaz возврати1тъ мS гDь во їеrли1мъ, и3 послужY гDу.
9
9
And the king said to him, Go in peace. And he arose and went to Chebron.
10
10
And Abessalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, When ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then shall ye say, Abessalom is become king in Chebron. И# послA ґвессалHмъ соглzд†таи во вс‰ кwлёна ї}лєва, глаг0лz: є3гдA ўслhшите вы2 глaсъ трубы2 р0жаны, и3 рцhте: воцари1сz цaрь ґвессалHмъ въ хеврHнэ.
11
11
And there went with Abessalom two hundred chosen men from Jerusalem; and they went in their simplicity, and knew not anything.
12
12
And Abessalom sent to Achitophel the Theconite, the counsellor of David, from his city, from Gola, where he was sacrificing: and there was a strong conspiracy; and the people with Abessalom were increasingly numerous. И# послA ґвессалHмъ, и3 призвA ґхітофeла галамонjйскаго, совётника давjдова, t грaда є3гw2 гwлaмы, є3гдA жрsше жє1ртвы.
13
13
And there came a messenger to David, saying, The heart of the men of Israel is gone after Abessalom.
14
14
And David said to all his servants who were with him in Jerusalem, Rise, and let us flee, for we have no refuge from Abessalom: make haste and go, lest he overtake us speedily, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword. И# речE давjдъ всBмъ nтрокHмъ свои6мъ сyщымъ съ ни1мъ во їеrли1мэ: востaните, и3 бэжи1мъ, ћкw нёсть нaмъ спасeніz t лицA ґвессалHмлz: ўскори1те и3ти2, да не ўскори1тъ и3 в0зметъ нaсъ, и3 наведeтъ на нaсъ ѕл0бу, и3 и3збіeтъ грaдъ џстріемъ мечA.
15
15
And the king's servants said to the king, In all things which our lord the king chooses, behold we are thy servants.
16
16
And the king and all his house went out on foot: and the king left ten women of his concubines to keep the house. И# и3зhде цaрь и3 вeсь д0мъ є3гw2 ногaми свои1ми, и3 њстaви цaрь дeсzть жeнъ подл0жницъ свои1хъ храни1ти д0мъ.
17
17
And the king and all his servants went out on foot; and abode in a distant house. И# и3зhде цaрь и3 вси2 џтроцы є3гw2 пBши и3 стaша въ домY сyщемъ далeче:
18
18
And all his servants passed on by his side, and every Chelethite, and every Phelethite, and they stood by the olive tree in the wilderness: and all the people marched near him, and all his court, and all the men of might, and all the men of war, six hundred: and they were present at his side: and every Chelethite, and every Phelethite, and all the six hundred Gittites that came on foot out of Geth, and they went on before the king.
19
19
And the king said to Ethi the Gittite, Why dost thou also go with us? return, and dwell with the king, for thou art a stranger, and thou hast come forth as a sojourner out of thy place.
20
20
Whereas thou camest yesterday, shall I to-day cause thee to travel with us, and shalt thou thus change thy place? thou didst come forth yesterday, and to-day shall I set thee in motion to go along with us? I indeed will go whithersoever I may go: return then, and cause thy brethren to return with thee, and may the Lord deal mercifully and truly with thee. ѓще вчерA пришeлъ є3си2, и3 днeсь ли подви1гну тS и3ти2 съ нaми; и3 ѓзъ и3дY, ѓможе пойдY: и3ди2 и3 возврати1сz, и3 возврати2 брaтію твою2 съ тоб0ю, и3 гDь да сотвори1тъ съ тоб0ю млcть и3 и4стину.
21
21
And Ethi answered the king and said, As the Lord lives and as my lord the king lives, in the place wheresoever my lord shall be, whether it be for death or life, there shall thy servant be. И# tвэщA є3ffeй къ царю2 и3 речE: жи1въ гDь, и3 жи1въ господи1нъ м0й цaрь, ћкw на мёстэ, и3дёже бyдетъ господи1нъ м0й цaрь, и3ли2 въ смeрти, и3ли2 въ животЁ, тaмw бyдетъ рaбъ тв0й.
22
22
And the king said to Ethi, Come and pass over with me. So Ethi the Gittite and the king passed over, and all his servants, and all the multitude with him.
23
23
And all the country wept with a loud voice. And all the people passed by over the brook of Kedron; and the king crossed the brook Kedron: and all the people and the king passed on toward the way of the wilderness. И# всS землS плaкашесz глaсомъ вели1кимъ. И# вси2 лю1діе прехождaху по пот0ку кeдрску, и3 цaрь прeйде чрез8 пот0къ кeдрскій, и3 вси2 лю1діе и3 цaрь и3дsху къ лицY пути2 пустhннагw.
24
24
And behold also Sadoc, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord from Bæthar: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had passed out of the city. И# сE, и3 садHкъ їерeй и3 вси2 леvjти съ ни1мъ, носsще ківHтъ завёта гDнz t веfaры: и3 постaвиша ківHтъ б9ій: и3 ґвіafаръ взhде, д0ндеже престaша вси2 лю1діе и3сходи1ти и3з8 грaда.
25
25
And the king said to Sadoc, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I should find favour in the eyes of the Lord, then will he bring me back, and he will shew me it and its beauty. И# речE цaрь къ садHку: возврати2 ківHтъ б9ій во грaдъ, и3 да стaнетъ на мёстэ своeмъ: ѓще њбрsщу блгdть пред8 nчи1ма гDнима, и3 возврати1тъ мS, и3 покaжетъ ми2 є3го2 и3 лёпоту є3гw2:
26
26
But if he should say thus, I have no pleasure in thee; behold, here I am, let him do to me according to that which is good in his eyes.
27
27
And the king said to Sadoc the priest, Behold, thou shalt return to the city in peace, and Achimaas thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar, your two sons with you. И# речE цaрь садHку їерeю: ви1дите, ты2 возвращaешисz во грaдъ съ ми1ромъ и3 ґхімаaсъ сhнъ тв0й и3 їwнаfaнъ сhнъ ґвіafаровъ, двA сhны вaши съ вaми:
28
28
Behold, I continue in arms in Araboth of the desert, until there come tidings from you to report to me.
29
29
So Sadoc and Abiathar brought back the ark of the Lord to Jerusalem, and it continued there.
30
30
And David went up by the ascent of the mount of Olives, ascending and weeping, and had his head covered, and went barefooted: and all the people that were with him covered every man his head; and they went up, ascending and weeping. И# давjдъ восхождaше восх0домъ на г0ру є3леHнскую восходS и3 плaчасz, и3 покрhвъ главY свою2, и3 сaмъ и3дsше босhма ногaма: и3 вси2 лю1діе и5же съ ни1мъ покрhша кjйждо главY свою2, и3 восхождaху восходsще и3 плaчущесz.
31
31
And it was reported to David, saying, Achitophel also is among the conspirators with Abessalom. And David said, O Lord my God, disconcert, I pray thee, the counsel of Achitophel.
32
32
And David came as far as Ros, where he worshipped God: and behold, Chusi the chief friend of David came out to meet him, having rent his garment, and earth was upon his head.
33
33
And David said to him, If thou shouldest go over with me, then wilt thou be a burden to me;
34
34
but if thou shall return to the city, and shalt say to Abessalom, Thy brethren are passed over, and the king thy father is passed over after me: and now I am thy servant, O king, suffer me to live: at one time even of late I was the servant of thy father, and now I am thy humble servant—so shalt thou disconcert for me the counsel of Achitophel. ѓще же возврати1шисz во грaдъ и3 речeши ґвессалHму: минyша брaтіz тво‰, и3 цaрь за мн0ю минY nтeцъ тв0й, и3 нн7э рaбъ тв0й є4смь, царю2, пощади1 мz жи1ва бhти: рaбъ бёхъ nтцA твоегw2 тогдA и3 досeлэ, нн7э же ѓзъ тв0й рaбъ: и3 разруши1 ми совётъ ґхітофeлевъ:
35
35
And, behold, there are there with thee Sadoc and Abiathar the priests; and it shall be that every word that thou shalt hear of the house of the king, thou shalt report it to Sadoc and Abiathar the priests. и3 сE, съ тоб0ю тaмw садHкъ и3 ґвіafаръ їерeє: и3 бyдетъ всsкъ глаг0лъ, є3г0же ўслhшиши и3з8 ќстъ цaрскихъ, и3 скaжеши садHку и3 ґвіafару їерeємъ:
36
36
Behold, there are there with them their two sons, Achimaas the son of Sadoc, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar; and by them ye shall report to me every word which ye shall hear. сE, тaмw съ ни1ми двA сы6на и4хъ, ґхімаaсъ сhнъ садHковъ и3 їwнаfaнъ сhнъ ґвіafаровъ: и3 посли1те рук0ю и4хъ ко мнЁ всsкъ глаг0лъ, є3г0же ѓще ўслhшите.
37
37
So Chusi the friend of David went into the city, and Abessalom was lately gone into Jerusalem. И# вни1де хусjй дрyгъ давjдовъ во грaдъ, и3 ґвессалHмъ тогдA вхождaше во їеrли1мъ.
