| And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | І було до мене слово Господнє: |

| And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, declare thou to her all her iniquities. | і ти, сину людський, чи хочеш судити, судити місто крови? вислови йому всі мерзоти його. |
|

|
| And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord God: O city that sheds blood in the midst of her, so that her time should come, and that forms devices against herself, to defile herself; | І скажи: так говорить Господь Бог: о, місто, що проливаєш кров серед себе, щоб настав час твій, і що робиш у себе ідолів, щоб оскверняти себе! |

| in their blood which thou hast shed, thou hast transgressed; and in thy devices which thou hast formed, thou hast polluted thyself; and thou hast brought nigh thy days, and hast brought on the time of thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach to the Gentiles, and a mockery to all the countries, | Кров’ю, яку ти пролило, ти зробило себе винним, й ідолами, яких ти наробило, ти осквернило себе, і наблизило дні твої і досягло часу твого. За це віддам тебе на посміяння народам, на наругу всім землям. |

| to those near thee, and to those far distant from thee; and they shall mock thee, thou that art notoriously unclean, and abundant in iniquities. | Близькі й далекі від тебе будуть насміхатися з тебе, що осквернило ім’я своє, прославилося шаленством. |

| Behold, the princes of the house of Israel have conspired in thee each one with his kindred, that they might shed blood. | Ось ті, що начальствують у Ізраїля, кожен мірою сил своїх, були у тебе, щоб проливати кров. |

| In thee they have reviled father and mother; and in thee they have behaved unjustly toward the stranger: they have oppressed the orphan and widow. | У тебе батька і матір лихословлять, прибульцеві чинять образу посеред тебе, сироту і вдову пригноблюють у тебе. |

|
| And they have set at nought my holy things, and in thee they have profaned my sabbaths. | Святинь Моїх ти не поважаєш і суботи Мої порушуєш. |

|
| There are robbers in thee, to shed blood in thee; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: they have wrought ungodliness in the midst of thee. | Наклепники знаходяться у тобі, щоб проливати кров, і на горах їдять у тебе ідоложертовне, посеред тебе роблять мерзоти. |

| In thee they have uncovered the father's shame; and in thee they have humbled her that was set apart for uncleanness. | Наготу батька відкривають у тебе, дружину під час очищення нечистот її ґвалтують у тебе. |

| They have dealt unlawfully each one with his neighbour's wife; and each one in ungodliness has defiled his daughter-in-law: and in thee they have humbled each one his sister, the daughter of his father. | Хтось робить мерзоти з дружиною ближнього свого, інший осквернює невістку свою, ще інший ґвалтує сестру свою, дочку батька свого. |

| In thee they have received gifts to shed blood; they have received in thee interest and usurious increase; and by oppression thou hast brought thy wickedness to the full, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord. | Хабарі беруть у тебе, щоб проливати кров; ти береш ріст і лихву і насильством вимагаєш користь у ближнього твого, а Мене забуло, — говорить Господь Бог. |

| And if I shall smite my hand at thine iniquities which thou hast accomplished, which thou hast wrought, and at thy blood that has been shed in the midst of thee, | І ось, Я сплеснув руками Моїми за користолюбство твоє, яке виявляється у тебе, і за кровопролиття, що відбувається посеред тебе. |

| shall thy heart endure? shall thine hands be strong in the days which I bring upon thee? I the Lord have spoken, and will do it. | Чи устоїть серце твоє, чи будуть тверді руки твої у ті дні, у які буду діяти проти тебе? Я, Господь, сказав і зроблю. |

|
| And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee in the countries, and thy uncleanness shall be removed out of thee. | І розсію тебе серед народів, і розвію тебе по землях, і покладу кінець мерзотам твоїм посеред тебе. |
|

|
| And I will give heritages in thee in the sight of the nations, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. | І зробиш сам себе зневаженим перед очима народів, і пізнаєш, що Я Господь. |
|

| And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | І було до мене слово Господнє: |

|
| Son of man, behold, the house of Israel are all become to me as it were mixed with brass, and iron, and tin, and lead; they are mixed up in the midst of silver. | сину людський! дім Ізраїлів зробився у Мене окалиною; усі вони — олово, мідь і залізо і свинець у горнилі, зробилися, як окалина срібла. |

| Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have become one mixture, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. | Тому так говорить Господь Бог: оскільки усі ви зробилися окалиною, за те ось, Я зберу вас у Єрусалим. |
|

|
| As silver, and brass, and iron, and tin, and lead, are gathered into the midst of the furnace, to blow fire into it, that they may be melted: so will I take you in my wrath, and I will gather and melt you. | Як у горнило кладуть разом срібло, і мідь, і залізо, і свинець, і олово, щоб роздмухати на них вогонь і розплавити; так Я у гніві Моєму й у люті Моїй зберу, і покладу, і розплавлю вас. |

| And I will blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. | Зберу вас і дихну на вас вогнем обурення Мого, і розплавитеся серед нього. |

|
| As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath upon you. | Як срібло розплавляється у горнилі, так розплавитеся і ви серед нього, і пізнаєте, що Я, Господь, вилив лють Мою на вас. |

| And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, | І було до мене слово Господнє: |

| Son of man, say to her, Thou art the land that is not rained upon, neither has rain come upon thee in the day of wrath: | сину людський! скажи йому: ти — земля неочищена, не зрошувана дощем у день гніву! |
|

|
| whose princes in the midst of her are as roaring lions seizing prey, devouring souls by oppression, and taking bribes; and thy widows are multiplied in the midst of thee. | Змова пророків її серед неї — як лев, що рикає, терзає здобич; з’їдають душі, оббирають майно і коштовності, і множать кількість удів. |

| Her priests also have set at nought my law, and profaned my holy things: they have not distinguished between the holy and profane, nor have they distinguished between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I was profaned in the midst of them. | Священики її порушують закон Мій і оскверняють святині Мої, не відокремлюють святого від несвятого і не вказують різниці між чистим і нечистим, і від субот Моїх вони закрили очі свої, і Я принижений у них. |

| Her princes in the midst of her are as wolves ravening to shed blood, that they may get dishonest gain. | Князі у неї, як вовки, які викрадають здобич; проливають кров, гублять душі, щоб придбати користь. |

| And her prophets that daub them shall fall, that see vanities, that prophesy falsehoods, saying, Thus saith the Lord, when the Lord has not spoken. | А пророки її все замазують брудом, бачать пусте і пророкують їм неправдиве, говорячи: «так говорить Господь Бог», тоді як не говорив Господь. |

| That sorely oppress the people of the land with injustice, and commit robbery; oppressing the poor and needy, and not dealing justly with the stranger. | А в народі гнітять одне одного, грабують і пригноблюють бідного й убогого, і прибульця пригноблюють несправедливо. |

|
| And I sought from among them a man behaving uprightly, and standing before me perfectly in the time of wrath, so that I should not utterly destroy her: but I found him not. | Шукав Я у них людину, яка поставила б стіну і стала б переді Мною у проломі за цю землю, щоб Я не погубив її, але не знайшов. |

| So I have poured out my wrath upon her in the fury of mine anger, to accomplish it. I have recompensed their ways on their own heads, saith the Lord God. | Отже, виллю на них обурення Моє, вогнем люті Моєї знищу їх, поведінку їхню поверну їм на голову, — говорить Господь Бог. |
