Chapter 9
Главa f7

1
For in the twelfth month, on the thirteenth day of the month which is Adar, the letters written by the king arrived. Во вторыйнaдесzть мцcъ, и3же є4сть ґдaръ, въ третійнaдесzть дeнь мцcа пріид0ша пис†ніz t царS.
2
2
In that day the adversaries of the Jews perished: for no one resisted, through fear of them.
3
3
For the chiefs of the satraps, and the princes and the royal scribes, honoured the Jews; for the fear of Mardochæus lay upon them. Начaлствующіи бо стрaнамъ и3 власти1теліе и3 цaрстіи книгHчіz почитaху їудє1й:
4
4
For the order of the king was in force, that he should be celebrated in all the kingdom.
6
6
And in the city Susa the Jews slew five hundred men: И# въ сyсэхъ грaдэ и3зби1ша їудeє пsть сHтъ мужeй:
7
7
both Pharsannes, and Delphon and Phasga, Фарсaна, нестaнна и3 делфHна, и3 фасгaна
8
8
and Pharadatha, and Barea, and Sarbaca, и3 фардаfaна, и3 варeа и3 сарвакaна,
9
9
and Marmasima, and Ruphæus, and Arsæus, and Zabuthæus,
10
10
the ten sons of Aman the son of Amadathes the Bugæan, the enemy of the Jews, and they plundered their property on the same day: дeсzть сынHвъ ґмaна ґмадаfyева вугeанина врагA їудеwмъ, и4же t fармаfeа, и3 разгрaбиша въ т0й дeнь (и3мBніz и4хъ):
11
11
and the number of them that perished in Susa was rendered to the king.
12
12
And the king said to Esther, The Jews have slain five hundred men in the city Susa; and how, thinkest thou, have they used them in the rest of the country? What then dost thou yet ask, that it may be done for thee? И# речE цaрь ко є3сfи1ри: и3зби1ша їудeє въ сyсэъ грaдэ пsть сHтъ мужeй, по њкрє1стнымъ же странaмъ коли1кw, мни1ши, погуби1ша; и3 чесогw2 є3щE проси1ши, и3 бyдетъ ти2;
13
13
And Esther said to the king, Let it be granted to the Jews so to treat them to-morrow as to hang the ten sons of Aman. И# речE є3сfи1рь ко царю2: да дaстсz тaкожде їудewмъ твори1ти заyтра, ћкw да повёсzтъ дeсzть сынHвъ ґмaновыхъ.
14
14
And he permitted it to be so done; and he gave up to the Jews of the city the bodies of the sons of Aman to hang. И# повелЁ цaрь тaкw бhти, и3 попусти2 їудewмъ внЁ грaда повёсити тэлесA сынHвъ ґмaновыхъ.
15
15
And the Jews assembled in Susa on the fourteenth day of Adar, and slew three hundred men, but plundered no property. И# собрaшасz їудeє, и5же въ сyсэхъ, въ четвертыйнaдесzть деeнь ґдaра, и3 и3зби1ша мужeй три1ста, и3 ничт0же разгрaбиша.
16
16
And the rest of the Jews who were in the kingdom assembled, and helped one another, and obtained rest from their enemies: for they destroyed fifteen thousand of them on the thirteenth day of Adar, but took no spoil. Пр0чіи же їудeє, и5же во цaрствіи, собрaшасz и3 себЁ помогaху и3 почи1ша t брaней: и3зби1ша бо t ни1хъ пzтьнaдесzть тhсzщъ въ третійнaдесzть ґдaра, и3 ничт0же расхи1тиша.
17
17
And they rested on the fourteenth of the same month, and kept it as a day of rest with joy and gladness. И# почи1ша въ четвертыйнaдесzть дeнь тогHжде мцcа и3 провождaху т0й дeнь ўпокоeніz съ рaдостію и3 весeліемъ.
18
18
And the Jews in the city Susa assembled also on the fourteenth day and rested; and they kept also the fifteenth with joy and gladness. Їудeє же въ сyсэхъ грaдэ собрaшасz и3 въ четвертыйнaдесzть почи1ша: проводи1ша же и3 пzтыйнaдесzть съ рaдостію и3 весeліемъ.
19
19
On this account then it is that the Jews dispersed in every foreign land keep the fourteenth of Adar as a holy day with joy, sending portions each to his neighbour. Сегw2 рaди їудeє разсёzнніи во всsцэй странЁ внёшней провождaютъ четвертыйнaдесzть дeнь ґдaра блaгъ съ весeліемъ, посылaюще ч†сти кjйждо бли1жнему: живyщій же въ митроп0ліzхъ и3 въ пzтыйнaдесzть дeнь ґдaра весeліz благjй провождaютъ, посылaюще ч†сти бли6жним.
20
20
And Mardochæus wrote these things in a book, and sent them to the Jews, as many as were in the kingdom of Artaxerxes, both them that were near and them that were afar off, НаписA же мардохeй словесA сі‰ въ кни1гу и3 послA їудewмъ, є3ли1цы бёша въ цaрствіи ґртаxeрxовэ, бли1з8 и3 далeче сyщымъ,
21
21
to establish these as joyful days, and to keep the fourteenth and fifteenth of Adar; ўстaвити дни6 сі‰ бл†ги, є4же провождaти четвертыйнaдесzть и3 пzтыйнaдесzть дeнь ґдaра:
22
22
for on these days the Jews obtained rest from their enemies: and as to the month, which was Adar, in which a change was made for them, from mourning to joy, and from sorrow to a good day, to spend the whole of it in good days of feasting and gladness, sending portions to their friends, and to the poor. въ си1хъ бо днeхъ почи1ша їудeє t вр†гъ свои1хъ: и3 мцcъ ґдaръ, и4же њбрати1сz и5мъ t плaча въ рaдость и3 t болёзни во благjй дeнь, провождaти вeсь во благи1хъ днeхъ рaдости и3 весeліz, посылaюще ч†сти ко другHмъ и3 ни1щымъ.
23
23
And the Jews consented to this accordingly as Mardochæus wrote to them, И# пріsша їудeє, ћкоже написA и5мъ мардохeй:
24
24
shewing how Aman the son of Amadathes the Macedonian fought against them, how he made a decree and cast lots to destroy them utterly; кaкw ґмaнъ ґмадаfyевъ македHнzнинъ рaтоваше їудеєвъ, и3 кaкw и3знесE сyдъ и3 жрeбій, є4же погуби1ти и5хъ,
25
25
also how he went in to the king, telling him to hang Mardochæus: but all the calamities he tried to bring upon the Jews came upon himself, and he was hanged, and his children.
26
26
Therefore these days were called Phruræ, because of the lots; (for in their language they are called Phruræ;) because of the words of this letter, and because of all they suffered on this account, and all that happened to them. Сегw2 рaди нарек0шасz днjе сjи фурjмъ рaди жрє1бій, занE діалeктомъ и4хъ жрє1біи нарицaютсz фурjмъ, рaди словeсъ є3піст0ліи сеS, и3 є3ли6ка пострадaша си1хъ рaди, и3 є3ли6ка и5мъ приключи1шасz.
27
27
And Mardochæus established it, and the Jews took upon themselves, and upon their seed, and upon those that were joined to them to observe it, neither would they on any account behave differently: but these days were to be a memorial kept in every generation, and city, and family, and province. Ўстaви ќбw, и3 тaкw пріsша їудeє на себE и3 на сёмz своE и3 на ириложи1вшихсz къ ни6мъ, нижE и3нaче да ўпотреблsютъ: днjе же сjи пaмzти совершaеми по р0ду и3 р0ду, и3 грaду и3 nтeчеству и3 странЁ.
28
28
And these days of the Phruræ, said they, shall be kept for ever, and their memorial shall not fail in any generation. Днjе же сjи фурjмъ да провождaютъ во всsкое лёто, и3 пaмzть да не њскудёетъ t родHбъ.
29
29
And queen Esther, the daughter of Aminadab, and Mardochæus the Jew, wrote all that they had done, and the confirmation of the letter of Phruræ.
31
31
And Mardochæus and Esther the queen appointed a fast for themselves privately, even at that time also having formed their plan against their own health.
32
And Esther established it by a command for ever, and it was written for a memorial.
