| And it came to pass when men began to be numerous upon the earth, and daughters were born to them, | Коли люди почали примножуватися на землі і народилися у них дочки, |

| that the sons of God having seen the daughters of men that they were beautiful, took to themselves wives of all whom they chose. | тоді сини Божі побачили дочок людських, що вони красиві, і брали їх собі за дружин, яку хто обрав. |
|

|
| And the Lord God said, My Spirit shall certainly not remain among these men for ever, because they are flesh, but their days shall be an hundred and twenty years. | І сказав Господь [Бог]: не вічно Духу Моєму бути зневаженим людьми [цими], тому що вони плоть; нехай будуть дні їх сто двадцять років. |

| Now the giants were upon the earth in those days; and after that when the sons of God were wont to go in to the daughters of men, they bore children to them, those were the giants of old, the men of renown. | У той час були на землі велетні, особливо ж з тих часів, коли сини Божі стали входити до дочок людських, і вони стали народжувати їм: це сильні, спрадавна славні люди. |

| And the Lord God having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that every one in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually, | І побачив Господь [Бог], що велике розбещення людей на землі, і що всі їх думки і помисли серця їх були злом повсякденно; |

| then God laid it to heart that he had made man upon the earth, and he pondered it deeply. | і розкаявся Господь, що створив людину на землі, і засмутився у серці Своєму. |

| And God said, I will blot out man whom I have made from the face of the earth, even man with cattle, and reptiles with flying creatures of the sky, for I am grieved that I have made them. | І сказав Господь: знищу з лиця землі людей, яких Я створив, від людини до худоби, і плазунів і птахів небесних знищу, бо Я розкаявся, що створив їх. |

| But Noe found grace before the Lord God. | Ной же придбав благодать перед очима Господа [Бога]. |

| And these are the generations of Noe. Noe was a just man; being perfect in his generation, Noe was well-pleasing to God. | Ось житіє Ноя: Ной був чоловіком праведним і непорочним у роді своєму; Ной ходив перед Богом. |

| And Noe begot three sons, Sem, Cham, Japheth. | Ной породив трьох синів: Сима, Хама і Яфета. |

|
| But the earth was corrupted before God, and the earth was filled with iniquity. | Але земля розбестилася перед лицем Божим, і наповнилася земля злодіяннями. |
|

|
| And the Lord God saw the earth, and it was corrupted; because all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth. | І споглянув [Господь] Бог на землю, і ось, вона розбещена, тому що всяка плоть спотворила шлях свій на землі. |
|

|
| And the Lord God said to Noe, A period of all men is come before me; because the earth has been filled with iniquity by them, and, behold, I destroy them and the earth. | І сказав [Господь] Бог Ною: кінець усякій плоті прийшов перед лицем Моїм, тому що земля наповнилася від них злодіяннями; і ось, Я знищу їх з землі. |

| Make therefore for thyself an ark of square timber; thou shalt make the ark in compartments, and thou shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. | Зроби собі ковчег з дерева гофер; відділення зроби в ковчезі й обсмоли його смолою усередині і ззовні. |

|
| And thus shalt thou make the ark; three hundred cubits the length of the ark, and fifty cubits the breadth, and thirty cubits the height of it. | І зроби його так: довжина ковчега триста ліктів; ширина його п’ятдесят ліктів, а висота його тридцять ліктів. |

|
| Thou shalt narrow the ark in making it, and in a cubit above thou shalt finish it, and the door of the ark thou shalt make on the side; with lower, second, and third stories thou shalt make it. | І зроби отвір у ковчезі, і в лікоть зведи його вгорі, і двері в ковчег зроби з боку його; влаштуй у ньому нижнє, друге і третє [житло]. |

| And behold I bring a flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven, and whatsoever things are upon the earth shall die. | І ось, Я наведу на землю потоп водний, щоб винищити всяку плоть, у якій є дух життя, під небесами; усе, що є на землі, позбудеться життя. |

| And I will establish my covenant with thee, and thou shalt enter into the ark, and thy sons and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. | Але з тобою Я укладу завіт Мій, і ввійдеш у ковчег ти, і сини твої, і дружина твоя, і дружини синів твоїх з тобою. |

| And of all cattle and of all reptiles and of all wild beasts, even of all flesh, thou shalt bring by pairs of all, into the ark, that thou mayest feed them with thyself: male and female they shall be. | Введи також у ковчег [з усякої худоби, і з усіх плазунів, і] з усіх тварин, і від усякої плоті по парі, щоб вони залишилися з тобою живими; чоловічої статі і жіночої нехай вони будуть. |

| Of all winged birds after their kind, and of all cattle after their kind, and of all reptiles creeping upon the earth after their kind, pairs of all shall come in to thee, male and female to be fed with thee. | З [усіх] птахів за родом їх, і з [усієї] худоби за родом її, і з усіх плазунів на землі за родом їх, з усіх по парі ввійдуть до тебе, щоб залишилися живими [з тобою, чоловічої статі і жіночої]. |

| And thou shalt take to thyself of all kinds of food which ye eat, and thou shalt gather them to thyself, and it shall be for thee and them to eat. | Ти ж візьми собі всякої їжі, яку споживають, і збери до себе; і буде вона для тебе і для них споживою. |

|
| And Noe did all things whatever the Lord God commanded him, so did he. | І зробив Ной усе: як повелів йому [Господь] Бог, так він і зробив. |
