And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain: and when he had sat down, his disciples came unto him:
|
Узрі́в же наро́ди, взи́де на гору́; і сі́дшу Єму́, приступи́ша к Нему́ ученици́ Єго́.

and he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
|
І отве́рз уста́ Своя́, уча́ше їх, глаго́ля:
|
|

|
|
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
|
блаже́нні ни́щії ду́хом, я́ко тіх єсть Ца́рствіє Небе́сноє.
|
|

|

|
|
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
|
Блаже́нні пла́чущії, я́ко ті́ї уті́шаться.
|
|

|
5
|
|
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
|
Блаже́нні кро́тції, я́ко ті́ї наслі́дять зе́млю.
|
|

|

|
|
Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
|
Блаже́нні а́лчущії і жа́ждущії пра́вди, я́ко ті́ї наси́тяться.
|
|

|
|
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
|
Блаже́нні ми́лостивії, я́ко ті́ї поми́ловані бу́дуть.
|
|

|
|
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
|
Блаже́нні чи́стії се́рдцем, я́ко ті́ї Бо́га у́зрять.
|
|

|
|
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
|
Блаже́нні миротво́рці, я́ко ті́ї Си́нове Бо́жії нареку́ться.
|

|
|
Blessed are they that have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
|
Блаже́нні ізгна́ні пра́вди ра́ди, я́ко тіх єсть Ца́рствіє Небе́сноє.
|

|
|
Blessed are ye when men shall reproach you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
|
Блаже́нні єсте́, єгда́ поно́сять вам і іждену́ть, і реку́ть всяк зол глаго́л на ви лжу́ще — Мене́ ра́ди;
|

|
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets that were before you.
|
ра́дуйтеся і веселі́теся, я́ко мзда ва́ша мно́га на небесі́х; та́ко бо ізгна́ша проро́ки, і́же (бі́ша) пре́жде вас.

|
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men.
|
Ви єсте́ соль землі́; а́ще же соль обуя́єть, чим осоли́ться? Ні во что́же бу́деть ктому́, то́чію да ізси́пана бу́деть вон і попира́єма челові́ки.

|
Ye are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
|
(Зач. 11) Ви єсте́ світ ми́ра; не мо́жеть град укри́тися верху́ гори́ стоя́;
|

|
|
Neither do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the stand; and it shineth unto all that are in the house.
|
ніже́ вжига́ють світи́льника і поставля́ють єго́ под спу́дом, но на сві́щниці, і сві́тить всім, і́же в хра́мині (суть).
|

|
Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
|
Та́ко да просвіти́ться світ ваш пред челові́ки, я́ко да ви́дять ва́ша до́брая діла́ і просла́в'ять Отця́ ва́шего, І́же на Небесі́х.

|
Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill.
|
(Да) не мні́те, я́ко прийдо́х разори́ти Зако́н іли́ Проро́ки: не прийдо́х разори́ти, но іспо́лнити.
|

|
|
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
|
Амі́нь бо глаго́лю вам: до́ндеже пре́йдеть не́бо і земля́, йо́та єди́на, іли́ єди́на черта́ не пре́йдеть от Зако́на, до́ндеже вся бу́дуть.

|
Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
|
І́же а́ще разори́ть єди́ну за́повідій сих ма́лих і научи́ть та́ко челові́ки, мній нарече́ться в Ца́рствії Небе́снім; а і́же сотвори́ть і научи́ть, сей ве́лій нарече́ться в Ца́рствії Небе́снім.

|
For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
|
(Зач. 12) Глаго́лю бо вам, я́ко а́ще не ізбу́деть пра́вда ва́ша па́че кни́жник і фарисе́й, не вни́дете в Ца́рствіє Небе́сноє.

|
Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
|
Сли́шасте, я́ко рече́но бисть дре́внім: не убіє́ши, і́же (бо) а́ще убіє́ть, пови́нен єсть суду́.
|

|
but I say unto you, that everyone who is angry with his brother without cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; and whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of the hell of fire.
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам, я́ко всяк гні́ваяйся на бра́та своєго́ всу́є пови́нен єсть суду́; і́же бо а́ще рече́ть бра́ту своєму́: рака́, пови́нен єсть со́нмищу; а і́же рече́ть: уро́де, пови́нен єсть геє́нні о́гненній.

If therefore thou art offering thy gift at the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee,
|
А́ще у́бо принесе́ши дар твой ко олтарю́ і ту пом'яне́ши, я́ко брат твой і́мать ні́что на тя,
|

|
|
leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
|
оста́ви ту дар твой пред олтаре́м і шед пре́жде смири́ся с бра́том твої́м, і тогда́ прише́д принеси́ дар твой.
|

|
|
Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; lest haply the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
|
Бу́ди увіщава́яся с сопе́рником твої́м ско́ро, до́ндеже єси́ на путі́ с ним, да не преда́сть тебе́ сопе́рник судії́, і судія́ тя преда́сть слузі́, і в темни́цю вве́ржен бу́деши;

|
Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou have paid the last penny.
|
амі́нь глаго́лю тебі́: не ізи́деши отту́ду, до́ндеже возда́си послі́дній кодра́нт*.

|
Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
|
(Зач. 13) Сли́шасте, я́ко річе́но бисть дре́внім: не прелюби́ сотвори́ши.
|
|

|
|
but I say unto you, that everyone that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам, я́ко всяк, і́же воззри́ть на жену́, ко є́же вожделі́ти єя́, уже́ любоді́йствова с не́ю в се́рдці своє́м;

|
And if thy right eye causeth thee to stumble, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.
|
а́ще же о́ко твоє́ десно́є соблажня́єть тя, ізми́ є і ве́рзи от себе́: у́не бо ті єсть, да поги́бнеть єди́н от уд твої́х, а не все ті́ло твоє́ вве́ржено бу́деть в геє́нну (о́гненную);

|
And if thy right hand causeth thee to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell.
|
і а́ще десна́я твоя́ рука́ соблажня́єт тя, усіци́ ю і ве́рзи от себе́: у́не бо ті єсть, да поги́бнеть єди́н от уд твої́х, а не все ті́ло твоє́ вве́ржено бу́деть в геє́нну.

It was said also, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
|
Рече́но же бисть, я́ко і́же а́ще пу́стить жену́ свою́, да дасть єй кни́гу распу́стную.

|
but I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, maketh her an adulteress: and whosoever shall marry her when she is put away committeth adultery.
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам, я́ко всяк отпуща́яй жену́ свою́, ра́зві словесе́ любоді́йнаго, твори́ть ю прелюбоді́йствовати; і і́же пущени́цю по́йметь, прелюбоді́йствуєть.

|
Again, ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
|
(Зач. 14) Па́ки сли́шасте, я́ко річе́но бисть дре́внім: не во лжу клене́шися, возда́си же Го́сподеві кля́тви твоя́.

|
but I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by the heaven, for it is the throne of God;
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам не кля́тися вся́ко: ні не́бом, я́ко престо́л єсть Бо́жий;

|
nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
|
ні земле́ю, я́ко подно́жіє єсть нога́ма Єго́; ні Ієрусали́мом, я́ко град єсть вели́каго Царя́;
|

|
|
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, for thou canst not make one hair white or black.
|
ніже́ главо́ю твоє́ю клени́ся, я́ко не мо́жеши вла́са єди́наго бі́ла іли́ че́рна сотвори́ти;

|
|
But let your speech be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: and whatsoever is more than these is of the evil one.
|
бу́ди же сло́во ва́ше: єй — єй; ні — ні, ли́шше же сею́ от неприя́зні єсть.
|

|
|
Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
|
Сли́шасте, я́ко річе́но бисть: о́ко за о́ко і зуб за зуб.
|

|
|
but I say unto you, Resist not him that is evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам не проти́витися злу; но а́ще тя кто уда́рить в десну́ю твою́ лани́ту, обрати́ єму́ і другу́ю;
|

|
|
And if any man would go to law with thee, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
|
і хотя́щему суди́тися с тобо́ю і ри́зу твою́ взя́ти, отпусти́ єму́ і срачи́цю;
|
|

|
|
And whosoever shall compel thee to go one mile, go with him two.
|
і а́ще кто тя по́йметь по си́лі по́прище єди́но, іди́ с ним два.
|
|

|
|
Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
|
(Зач. 15) Прося́щему у тебе́ дай, і хотя́щаго от тебе́ зая́ти не отврати́.

|
|
Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy:
|
Сли́шасте, я́ко річе́но єсть: возлю́биши і́скренняго твоєго́ і возненави́диши врага́ твоєго́.
|
|

|
|
but I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you;
|
Аз же глаго́лю вам: любі́те враги́ ва́ша, благослові́те клену́щия ви, добро́ творі́те ненави́дящим вас і молі́теся за творя́щих вам напа́сть і ізгоня́щия ви,

|
that ye may be sons of your Father who is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust.
|
я́ко да бу́дете cи́нове Отця́ ва́шего, І́же єсть на Небесі́х; я́ко со́лнце Своє́ сія́єть на зли́я і благі́я і дожди́ть на пра́ведния і на непра́ведния.

|
For if ye love them that love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
|
А́ще бо лю́бите лю́б’ящих вас, ку́ю мзду і́мате? Не і митарі́ ли то́жде творя́ть?
|

|
|
And if ye salute your friends only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
|
І а́ще цілу́єте дру́ги ва́ша то́кмо, что ли́шше творите́? Не і язи́чници ли та́кожде творя́ть?
|

|
|
Ye therefore shall be perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.
|
Бу́діте у́бо ви соверше́нні, я́коже Оте́ць ваш Небе́сний соверше́н єсть.
