Chapter 11	Глава 11

1	1
And when Jabis the king of Asor heard, he sent to Jobab king of Maron, and to the king of Symoön, and to the king of Aziph,	Почувши це, Іавин, цар Асорський, послав до Іовава, царя Мадонського, і до царя Шимронського, і до царя Ахсафського,

and to the kings who were by the great Sidon, to the hill country and to Araba opposite Keneroth, and to the plain, and to Phenaeddor,	і до царів, які жили на півночі на горі і на рівнині з південної сторони Хиннарофа, і на низинних місцях, і в Нафоф-Дорі на захід,

and to the Chananites on the coast eastward, and to the Amorites on the coast, and the Chettites, and the Pherezites, and the Jebusites in the mountain, and the Evites, and those dwelling under mount Aermon in the land Massyma.	до хананеян, які жили на сході і до моря, до аморреян і хеттеян, до ферезеян і до ієвусеян, які жили на горі, і до евеян, які жили біля Ермона в землі Массифі.

And they and their kings with them went forth, as the sand of the sea in multitude, and horses, and very many chariots.	І виступили вони і все ополчення їх з ними, численний народ, який безліччю дорівнював піску на березі морському; і коней і колісниць було дуже багато.

And all the kings assembled in person, and came to the same place, and encamped at the waters of Maron to war with Israel.	І зібралися всі царі ці, і прийшли і розташувалися станом разом біля вод Меромських, щоб воювати з Ізраїлем.

And the Lord said to Joshua, Be not afraid of them, for to-morrow at this time I will put them to flight before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.	Але Господь сказав Ісусові: не бійся їх, тому що завтра, близько цього часу, Я віддам усіх [їх] на знищення [синам] Ізраїля; коням же їхнім переріж жили і колісниці їхні спали вогнем.

And Joshua and all the men of war came upon them at the water of Maron suddenly; and they attacked them in the hill country.	Ісус і з ним весь народ, здатний до війни, раптово вийшли на них до вод Меромських і напали на них.
8	8
And the Lord delivered them into the power of Israel; and they smote them and pursued them to great Sidon, and to Maseron, and to the plains of Massoch eastward; and they destroyed them till there was not one of them left that survived.	І віддав їх Господь у руки ізраїльтян, і уразили вони їх, і переслідували їх до Сидона великого і до Мисрефоф-Маїма, і до долини Мицфи на схід, і перебили їх, так що нікого з них не залишилося, хто вцілів би [й уник].

And Joshua did to them, as the Lord commanded him: he houghed their horses, and burned their chariots with fire.	І вчинив Ісус з ними так, як сказав йому Господь: коням їхнім перерізав жили і колісниці їхні спалив вогнем.

And Joshua returned at that time, and took Asor and her king; now Asor in former time was the chief of these kingdoms.	У той же час, повернувшись, Ісус узяв Асор і царя його убив мечем [Асор же раніше був главою всіх царств цих];

And they slew with the sword all that breathed in it, and utterly destroyed them all, and there was no living thing left in it; and they burnt Asor with fire.	і побили все, що дихає, що було в ньому, мечем, [усе] піддавши закляттю: не залишилося жодної душі; а Асор він спалив вогнем.

And Joshua took all the cities of the kingdoms, and their kings, and slew them with the edge of the sword; and utterly slew them, as Moses the servant of the Lord commanded.	І всі міста царів цих і всіх царів їх узяв Ісус і убив мечем, піддавши їх закляттю, як повелів Мойсей, раб Господній;

But all the walled cities Israel burnt not; but Israel burnt Asor only.	утім, усіх міст, що лежали на височині, не палили ізраїльтяни, крім одного Асора, який спалив Ісус.

And the children of Israel took all its spoils to themselves; and they slew all the men with the edge of the sword, until he destroyed them; they left not one of them breathing.	А всю здобич міст цих і [всю] худобу розграбували сини Ізраїлеві собі; людей же всіх перебили мечем, так що знищили всіх їх: не залишили [з них] жодної душі.

As the Lord commanded his servant Moses, even so Moses commanded Joshua; and so Joshua did, he transgressed no precept of all that Moses commanded him.	Як повелів Господь Мойсеєві, рабові Своєму, так Мойсей заповів Ісусові, а Ісус так і зробив: не відступив від жодного слова в усьому, що повелів Господь Мойсеєві.

And Joshua took all the hill country, and all the land of Nageb, and all the land of Gosom, and the plain country, and that toward the west, and the mountain of Israel and the low country by the mountain;	Таким чином Ісус узяв усю цю нагірну землю, всю землю полуденну, всю землю Гошен і низинні місця, і рівнину і гору Ізраїлеву, і низинні місця [біля гори],

from the mountain of Chelcha, and that which goes up to Seir, and as far as Balagad, and the plains of Libanus, under mount Aermon; and he took all their kings, and destroyed, and slew them.	від гори Халак, що простягається до Сеїру, до Ваал-Гада в долині Ливанській, біля гори Ермон, і всіх царів їх узяв, уразив їх і убив.

And for many days Joshua waged war with these kings.	Довгий час вів Ісус війну з усіма цими царями.
19	19
And there was no city which Israel took not; they took all in war.	Не було [жодного] міста, яке уклало б мир із синами Ізраїлевими, крім евеян, жителів Гаваона: все узяли вони війною;

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts to go forth to war against Israel, that they might be utterly destroyed, that mercy should not be granted to them, but that they should be utterly destroyed, as the Lord said to Moses.	бо від Господа було те, що вони озлобили серце своє і війною зустрічали Ізраїля — для того, щоб піддані були закляттю і щоб не було їм помилування, але щоб знищені були так, як повелів Господь Мойсеєві.
21	21
And Joshua came at that time, and utterly destroyed the Enakim out of the hill country, from Chebron and from Dabir, and from Anaboth, and from all the race of Israel, and from all the mountain of Juda with their cities; and Joshua utterly destroyed them.	У той же час прийшов Ісус і уразив [усіх] єнакимян на горі, у Хевроні, у Давирі, в Анаві, на всій горі Іудиній і на всій горі Ізраїлевій; з містами їх віддав їх Ісус закляттю;

There was not any one left of the Enakim by the children of Israel, only there was left of them in Gaza, and in Gath, and in Aseldo.	не залишилося [жодного] з єнакимян у землі синів Ізраїлевих, залишилися тільки в Газі, у Гефі та в Азоті.

And Joshua took all the land, as the Lord commanded Moses; and Joshua gave them for an inheritance to Israel by division according to their tribes; and the land ceased from war.	Таким чином узяв Ісус усю землю, як говорив Господь Мойсеєві, і віддав її Ісусові в наділ ізраїльтянам, за розподілом між колінами їх. І заспокоїлася земля від війни.
