| Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? unless we need, as do some, epistles of commendation to you or epistles of commendation from you? | Hевже нам знову знайомитися з вами! Hевже потрібні для нас, як для деяких, схвальні послання до вас або від вас? |

| Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and read of all men; | Ви — наше послання, написане у серцях наших, яке пізнають і читають усі люди; |

| being made manifest that ye are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in tables that are hearts of flesh. | ви показуєте собою, що ви — послання Христове, через служіння наше, написане не чорнилом, але Духом Бога Живого, не на кам’яних скрижалях, але на плотських скрижалях серця. |

| And such confidence have we through Christ to God-ward: | Таку впевненість ми маємо в Бозі через Христа. |

| not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; | Hе тому, що ми самі здатні були помислити щось від себе, ніби від себе, але здібність наша від Бога. |

| who also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. | Він дав нам здібність бути служителями Hового Завіту, не букви, але духу, тому що буква вбиває, а дух животворить. |

| But if the ministration of death, written, and engraven on stones, came with glory, so that the children of Israel could not look steadfastly upon the face of Moses for the glory of his face; which glory was passing away: | Якщо ж служіння смерти‚ накреслене буквами на каменях, було таке славне, що сини Ізраїлеві не могли дивитися на обличчя Мойсеєве внаслідок минущої слави обличчя його, — |

| how shall not rather the ministration of the spirit be with glory? | то чи не значно славнішим має бути служіння духа? |

| For if the ministration of condemnation is glory, much rather doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. | Бо коли служіння осуду — славне, то тим більше рясніє славою служіння виправдання. |
|

| For verily that which hath been made glorious hath not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasseth. | Та прославлене навіть не є славним із цього боку, з причини слави наступного‚ яка переважає. |

| For if that which passeth away was with glory, much more that which remaineth is in glory. | Бо, якщо славне те‚ що минає, тим славніше те‚ що триває. |
|

| Having therefore such a hope, we use great boldness of speech, | Маючи таку надію, ми діємо з великим дерзновенням, |

| and are not as Moses, who put a veil upon his own face, that the children of Israel should not look steadfastly on the end of that which was passing away: | а не так, як Мойсей, який клав покривало на обличчя своє, щоб сини Ізраїлеві не дивилися на кінець того‚ що минає. |

|
| but their minds were hardened: for until this day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remaineth unlifted, for it is done away in Christ. | Та їхній розум засліпився: бо те ж саме покривало донині лишається незнятим при читанні Старого Заповіту, бо воно знімається Христом. |

| But unto this day, when Moses is read, a veil lieth upon their heart. | Донині, коли вони читають Мойсея, покривало лежить на серці їхньому, |
|

| But whensoever it shall turn to the Lord, the veil is taken away. | але коли навертаються до Господа, тоді це покривало знімається. |
|

|
| Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. | Господь є Дух; а де Дух Господній, там свобода. |
|

|
| But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord the Spirit. | А ми всi‚ відкритим обличчям, як у дзеркалі, дивлячись на славу Господню, перетворюємося на той же образ від слави у славу, як від Господнього Духа. |
