And the Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sina, in the tabernacle of witness, on the first day of the second month, in the second year of their departure from the land of Egypt, saying,	І сказав Господь Мойсеєві у пустелі Синайській, у скинії зібрання, у перший [день] другого місяця, у другий рік після виходу їх із землі Єгипетської, говорячи:

Take the sum of all the congregation of Israel according to their kindreds, according to the houses of their fathers' families, according to their number by their names, according to their heads: every male	підрахуйте всю громаду синів Ізраїлевих за родами їх, за сімействами їх, за числом імен, усіх чоловічої статі поголовно:

from twenty years old and upwards, every one that goes forth in the forces of Israel, take account of them with their strength; thou and Aaron take account of them.	від двадцяти років і вище, усіх придатних для війни у Ізраїля, за ополченнями їх порахуйте їх — ти й Аарон;

And with you there shall be each one of the rulers according to the tribe of each: they shall be according to the houses of their families.	з вами повинні бути з кожного коліна по одній людині, яка в роді своєму є головною.

And these are the names of the men who shall be present with you; of the tribe of Ruben, Elisur the son of Sediur.	І ось імена чоловіків, що будуть з вами: від Рувима Елицур, син Шедеура;

Of Symeon, Salamiel the son of Surisadai.	від Симеона Шелумиїл, син Цуришаддая;

Of Juda, Naasson the son of Aminadab.	від Іуди Наассон, син Аминадава;

Of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Sogar.	від Іссахара Нафанаїл, син Цуара;

Of Zabulon, Eliab the son of Chælon.	від Завулона Елиав, син Хелона;

Of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim, Elisama the son of Emiud: of Manasses, Gamaliel the son of Phadasur.	від синів Йосифа: від Єфрема Елишама, син Аммиуда; від Манассії Гамалиїл, син Педацура;

These were famous men of the congregation, heads of the tribes according to their families: these are heads of thousands in Israel.	Це — обрані мужі суспільства, начальники колін батьків своїх, глави тисяч Ізраїлевих.

And Moses and Aaron took these men who were called by name.	І взяв Мойсей і Аарон мужів, які названі поіменно,

And they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the month in the second year; and they registered them after their lineage, after their families, after the number of their names, from twenty years old and upwards, every male according to their number:	і зібрали вони всю громаду в перший [день] другого місяця. І оголосили вони родоводи свої, за родами їх, за сімействами їх, за числом імен, від двадцяти років і вище, поголовно,

as the Lord commanded Moses, so they were numbered in the wilderness of Sina.	як повелів Господь Мойсеєві. І зробив він підрахунок їм у пустелі Синайській.

And the sons of Ruben the first-born of Israel according to their kindreds, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their heads, were—all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that went out with the host—	І було синів Рувима, первістка Ізраїлевого, за родами їх, за племенами їх, за сімействами їх, за числом імен, поголовно, всіх чоловічої статі, від двадцяти років і вище, усіх придатних для війни,

the numbering of them of the tribe of Ruben, was forty-six thousand and four hundred.	підраховано в коліні Рувимовому сорок шість тисяч п’ятсот.

For the children of Symeon according to their kindreds, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out with the host,	Синів Симеона за родами їх, за племенами їх, за сімействами їх, за числом імен, поголовно, всіх чоловічої статі, від двадцяти років і вище, усіх придатних для війни,

the numbering of them of the tribe of Symeon, was fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.	підраховано в коліні Симеоновому п’ятдесят дев’ять тисяч триста.

For the sons of Juda according to their kindreds, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their polls, all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes forth with the host,	Синів Гада за родами їх, за племенами їх, за сімействами їх, за числом імен [їх, поголовно, всіх чоловічої статі], від двадцяти років і вище, усіх придатних для війни,

the numbering of them of the tribe of Nephthali, was fifty-three thousand and four hundred.	підраховано в коліні Неффалимовому п’ятдесят три тисячі чотириста.

This is the numbering which Moses and Aaron and the rulers of Israel, being twelve men, conducted: there was a man for each tribe, they were according to the tribe of the houses of their family.	Ось ті, що ввійшли у підрахунок, яких порахував Мойсей і Аарон і начальники Ізраїля — дванадцять чоловік, по одній людині з кожного племені.

And the whole numbering of the children of Israel with their host from twenty years old and upward, every one that goes out to set himself in battle array in Israel, came to	І було всіх, що ввійшли в підрахунок, синів Ізраїлевих, за сімействами їх, від двадцяти років і вище, усіх придатних для війни в Ізраїлі,

six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.	і було всіх, що ввійшли у підрахунок шістсот три тисячі п’ятсот п’ятдесят.

But the Levites of the tribe of their family were not counted among the children of Israel.	А левити за поколіннями батьків їх не були пораховані між ними.

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,	І сказав Господь Мойсеєві, говорячи:

See, thou shalt not muster the tribe of Levi, and thou shalt not take their numbers, in the midst of the children of Israel.	тільки коліна Левія не внось у перепис, і не враховуй їх разом із синами Ізраїля;

And do thou set the Levites over the tabernacle of witness, and over all its furniture, and over all things that are in it; and they shall do service in it, and they shall encamp round about the tabernacle.	але доручи левитам скинію одкровення і все приладдя її і все, що при ній; нехай вони носять скинію і все приладдя її, і служать при ній, і біля скинії нехай ставлять стан свій;

And in removing the tabernacle, the Levites shall take it down, and in pitching the tabernacle they shall set it up: and let the stranger that advances to touch it die.	і коли потрібно переносити скинію, нехай піднімають її левити; і коли потрібно зупинитися скинії, нехай ставлять її левити; а якщо приступить хто сторонній, відданий буде на смерть.

And the children of Israel shall encamp, every man in his own order, and every man according to his company, with their host.	Сини Ізраїлеві повинні ставати кожен у стані своєму і кожен при своєму прапорі, за ополченнями своїми;

But let the Levites encamp round about the tabernacle of witness fronting it, and so there shall be no sin among the children of Israel; and the Levites themselves shall keep the guard of the tabernacle of witness.	а левити повинні ставити стан біля скинії одкровення, щоб не було гніву на громаду синів Ізраїлевих, і будуть левити стояти на сторожі при скинії одкровення.

And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.	І зробили сини Ізраїлеві; як повелів Господь Мойсеєві, так вони і зробили.
